Tail Teller Kid's News bulletin What is a tsunami? Good
news for clever kids. It's time for tail Teller Kids
Today's big question. What is a tsunami? Hi? Friends, to day,
we're diving into the deep blue sea to learn about
something big, powerful, and very rare, a tsunami. A tsunami

(00:23):
say it like this, Sue an ah me is a
huge wave caused by something like an earthquake under the ocean,
a volcano, or even a giant underwater land slide. Imagine
dropping a pebble in a pond. That little splash sends
out ripples. Right now, imagine a giant splash in the ocean,
and you've got the beginning of a tsunani. Tsunamis can

(00:47):
travel super fast, faster than a cheetah, but you might
not notice them in the middle of the sea. It's
when they get close to land that they rise up
tall and rush in with incredible force. Tsunamis don't happen often,
but when they do, they can be very dangerous. That's
why scientists and safety teams all around the world watch

(01:09):
the oceans very carefully. In some countries, kids even have
tsunami drills just like fire drills, so everyone knows what
to do. Quick facts. Tsunami means harbor wave in Japanese.
The biggest tsunamis can reach over one hundred feet tall,
as high as a skyscraper. Animals sometimes sense tsunamis before

(01:34):
they arrive and move to higher ground. So what should
you do If you're ever near the coast and you
feel the ground shake or the water suddenly pulls way
back from the beach, Tell an adult and head to
higher ground. Better safe than soggi. That's it from us
to day on tail Teller Kids News, Stay curious, stay kind,

(01:57):
and don't forget your snorkel. Tail Teller Kids Big Facts
for bright minds.
