(00:00):
Tim gonna talk about Gates. Mike, Yes, me talking about Gates.
Answer sounds to stop track. Helloand welcome to another talk about games.

(00:24):
I'm Ryan and I'm Mike. Thisis funny, right, yeah, this
is this is fun stuff. Isn'tthis funny? Anyway? Today we're talking
about Alien versus Predator. Yes,I made him do that, by the

(00:44):
way, costumes fun. So Iwant to know though, in like a
couple of years, will I beWill people come up to me and say,
hey, Mike, dude, belike the Alien? Yeah? Or
am I is it still gonna bedo bugs, Bunny? I don't know.
Maybe you could be like the alienwhen they asked me to do bugs
me, I'm Bunny. I'm gonnabe like, Yeah, did you like
my predator voice? It was?Yeah, so good? Yeah, it's

(01:07):
pretty good. I should So Iplayed Alien. Well the time has passed
now maybe next time. So Iplayed Alien Versus Predator for the Arcade,
which was a game that came outin nineteen ninety four, has nothing to
do with the Super Nintendo game.I streamed that and I streamed um Alien

(01:29):
just straight up Alien, and there'sAlien verse Predator. Yeah, yeah,
so this is Alien Verse Predator upright Beat Him Up arcade game. There
are four different characters in the game. But I want to talk about something
technically, because this game is aCPS two game, which is uh the
Capcom arcade system, and it comesin a big plastic container and there's two

(01:55):
boards. There's an A board anda B board. The A board has
the game, so you'd have theAlien Verse Predator a board, and then
the B board is the system thathas the processor and all the stuff,
and it's in a plastic container. In the United States, they were blue.
In Japan, they're green. InSouth America they were an orange color.

(02:19):
And then there's gray ones too,which I think we're rerunals. I'm
not sure, but anyway, theblue ones are US green is Japan.
That's what you'll see most of thetime. But that A board has two
plugs on it. It is theJama connector that connects to every arcade machine
of a certain age. But thenit has this other plug that is normally

(02:42):
called a kick harness, right,And why is it called a kick harness
Because in Street Fighter all the kickbuttons for player one and player two come
off that harness and they're like extrabuttons. Yeah right, because in regular
arcade only has three buttons and startright right unless it's a Neo Geo that
has the fourth. So they neededto add more for all these fighting games.

(03:05):
So they added these kick harnesses. But you look at Alien Verse Predator,
it's CPS two. Where does thethird player come because it's a three
player games, so it comes froma kick harness, So it comes from
a different kick harness, but itplugs it into the same plug in the
system, which I think is prettycrazy. There are two other games that

(03:28):
do that, Dungeons and Dragons Shadowsover Mistara and Dudgeons of Dragon's Tower of
Doom. Yeah. Yeah, so, um, Alien Verse Predator Arcade is
related to those games. So likewhat about something like um, well,
I guess it would only be likebeat them ups. But I'm thinking about
like there's like four players for likeGauntlet or something like that wouldn't need it,

(03:52):
Oh it would, but it wouldbe Gauntlet is on a different piece
of arcade hardware. Okay, SoI just yeah, like, first,
it's a Ninja Turtles like Ninja Turtlesor x X Men or whatever, have
the board itself. Player one andplayer two come off the edge connector that
has the monitor connection and the sound. And I guess it's different though,

(04:14):
because like Ninja Turtles, you don'tneed as many buttons as you would for
like shadows over Mstar because you ifwith shoutouts over Mstar you have like the
fucking wheel and shit, so there'dbe like more buttons. Well, no,
it's still only the three the threeends start. Okay, Yeah,
Um, it's different because the Arcadehardware is different. Okay. I just
think it's interesting that the plugs onit, Like like you think about how

(04:41):
does the Alien Versus Predator come toArcade as a three player and you need
that cable. If you don't havethat cable, you can't play three player,
right, So it's like it's probablyvery rare to see somebody put together
a three player Shoutous over Mstar orAlien Verse Predator. Anyway, this is
a beat him up, but it'sa late beat him up, and you

(05:05):
really see the influence from fighting gamesbecause there are like quarter circle like dragon
punch motions. There's like a taptap attack. There's a lot of different
attacks you can do. I don'tremember it having something like that. Then
the weapons you have like some kindof like long gun thing, so like

(05:26):
I don't remember. While, let'stalk about the four characters. Yeah,
there's Lynn Corrosawa, who's the girlwho has the pistol and she has the
little sword. There's Dutch, who'sfrom the movies obviously, who has a
robotic arm that has a machine gunin it and he can throw people and
he's like a big, burly gun. I had to say that his animation

(05:50):
freaks me out because he has likea very stilted animation because he walks slow,
because he's like the big character, like you could see like it plays.
I feel like the animation plays tooslow, like there's just something that
you need to be like more frames. Yeah. Yeah. Then there's the
Predator Warrior, who's the big,big predator. Yeah. And then there's

(06:13):
a Predator Hunter, which is likea young predator. Yeah. The Kurasawa
and Dutch both have like a likea gun yeah that they shoot as their
special weapon. The Predator Warrior andHunter both have like a shoulder mounted like
fire. You gotta want to playas one of the predators, right,
Yeah. Well, I kind oflike Kurasawa because she can do like the

(06:39):
chun lee like bounce on people's heads. And when you're fighting, it's like
the big predators you can constantly likebounce on their head. But the I
mean the big aliens. But thepredators have that knockdown ability that it's kind
of like in Street Fighter two, like the Yoga fire type of fact where
all the enemies burst into flames.Yeah, and you have a gauge at

(07:00):
the bottom of the screen that willum. When you do the special weapon,
either the pistol or the shoulder flamething, the gauge goes down.
Okay, but then there are specialsituations where you get like unlimited cooling where
it the gauge doesn't go down andyou could just spam it and just destroy

(07:21):
everything. What are the to thealien I'm sorry, what are the predators
like specials? So the Predator warriorhas a spear and he has the shoulder
mounted fire thing. I think Ithink when I played, I was the
predator with the spear. The Predatorhunter has like a it's like a glave.
It has like a sharp it's notjust like a tip of a spear.

(07:44):
It's more like a slashing spear. And they have the same shoulder mounted
flame thing. Okay, now, enemies are constantly dropping guns. That's the
other thing. This is a beatthem up where you know, like you're
playing Final Flight, you're playing toher roles. Maybe like one item drops
like per screen in this because it'srunning like this powerful arcade hardware. Like

(08:07):
there could be fifty knives on theground, right, there could be like
pulse rifles, there could be Likeso you're constantly picking up guns. I
remember when you did a RoboCop two. Yeah, it's like you you would
get the extra gun, but itwould only last for like two seconds.
Yeah, Like, is this likewhen you get an extra weapon, do
you keep it for a while? You keep it about as long as Robocopy.

(08:28):
In RoboCop there might only be twoor three per level, and in
this there'll be like ten on theground. So you do get more because
there are more. Yeah, okay, but you're constantly switching. It's like
if you had a gun, you'dbe like bam, bam, Oh pick
up another one, right, Soyou're always having guns. The jump attacks
and there's you have a lot ofmobility. But one criticism I have this

(08:50):
game is all the enemies are verysammy. It's like, oh, it's
a purple alien. Oh it's alittle alien. Oh it's a big alien.
It's like the turtles in time. It's like they're all foot soldiers.
Here comes the yellow foot soldier. Here's a guy with a knife. Right,
here's here's like a whale. There'sall these like whale in Utahny guys,
you gotta fights in general or dothat a lot where it's a lot

(09:11):
of the same enemies. Right. This game tries to have a story,
but it's like, right, it'slike, come on, man. So
the predators came to Earth to huntthe uh queen that is in California.
Right, So when you're on theattract screen, it's like they're you're like

(09:33):
seeing like the predator's view of liketracking California, and they like zooms in
like their computers. Yeah, they'relike, we gotta go there, and
this is the story. Yeah.So the predators come and they meet and
they respect Dutch and Kurasawa because they'relike cybernetic and they fought the aliens before,

(09:54):
right, so they're like, oh, you're you guys are good,
so we're not gonna mess with you. But they're like kill all the whalen
Utani guys get them all. Soyou go, you fight to the end,
you find the queen. The firstqueen you fight. You fight two
queens in this game, but thefirst queen you fight is at the end
of stage four, and after thatthey're like, oh, well, General

(10:16):
bush Uh actually whaling Utani is usingthe aliens to make weapons to kill the
predators, okay. So then afterthat you stop fighting aliens as much,
although there's a lot of aliens, and you start fighting the whale and Yutani
guys with guns. So that's thelast two levels. There's a level where

(10:39):
there's a shooter level that's like abonus level. Level three is you your
gun doesn't run out, like you'reshooting in the background, so you're like
sitting on an APC that's driving, yeah, and it's like it feels like
a Sunset Rider's horse level, butyou don't move around. You're just hanging
on the top of it and yougot to shoot down and up and you

(11:01):
never run out of bullets right wherenormally you have the gauge um. But
that level is really easy this gameas far as beat ups go. You
have so many attacks, like youdo a slide, You have so many
things you can do, but itOh, it's all it's mostly melee.

(11:22):
Yeah, like you you have everybodystarts with a weapon. It's like there's
a lot of complexity, but Ifeel like the complexity is kind of wasted.
The complexity is wasted because all theenemies you're fighting have like very basic
attacks. Like it's almost better likeif you're playing as a predator to just

(11:43):
do normal attacks. The aliens notreally defend themselves as well. No,
I mean there's just a lot right. Like the way this game works is
they're they're like, we have thisthis great arcade hardware, so we're gonna
put so much shit on screen.Oh, there's like twenty guys on screen,
like more than any other fighting game, you know, any other beat
them up. There's just enemies. That's how they're trying to impress here,

(12:03):
because they knew they could do it. But the problem is you're just mowing
them down, right, And ifyou manage your gauge and manage your special
attack, you could just sit thereand just spam. It's not like I
was like trying to do cool attacksand like pick up guns and like play
it. But like the way youshould play this game is you just sit

(12:28):
there. You stay away from theenemy. Is your gauge goes up,
you do the fire. You dothe fire. Oh, your gauge goes
up. You do the fire. You only ever play as the prior to
warrior. You stab them from faraway because it Beat them ups are two
different things. When you're continually poppingin I guess in real life quarters,
but if you're playing in Mayme, you're just like, you know, pumping

(12:48):
in a million things and then youjust go through the whole thing. It's
boring like Simpsons or Turtles or anyof this stuff. But if you're actually
playing and you're trying to not usemany credits become they become more interesting at
that point. Yeah, yeah, you know. And I think that this
game, like if I was goingto run you know, it sounds like
I don't like this game. Ido like this game. If I was
going to become an expert at abeat them up, it might be this

(13:11):
one because all the moves. Becauseof all the moves, and because it's
it's it's interesting, there's a lotmore to it. The only problem is
that all the enemies look the same. Yea um, there is one enemy
in this game that really annoys thehellotomy who's that right? And those enemies
are the chess bursters because you'll besitting there and you'll be sitting there and

(13:37):
they're little you can't punch above becausethey're like crawling on the ground. So
you're sitting there and you're like,oh my god, what am I gonna
do? And they're like they're likecoming at you, like like, that's
exactly what it's like. Can Ido the rest of the video? Yeah,

(14:01):
but that's exactly what they're like. And they're just coming at you,
and you got to do like specificattacks, and they like don't jump at
you right away. They wait alittle bit. They're like, no,
I'm good jump okay, okay, but they're and they're all like so the
timing arms a little yeah, andthen they poke onto you and you have

(14:22):
to like most of the time whatyou gotta like to have to get them
off or something. Yeah, butbut but most of the time you're gonna
do the button where you where youhit down the two buttons and do your
like desperation attack that takes your health. So not only do you take the
health damage of them hang on you, but you take the health damage to
get them off, to get themoff, And I'm like, and that's

(14:45):
where they make their money off ofyour quarters, right because and on the
last level, you walk into aroom and you're like, fuck this,
Like, so I want to hearabout the I mean, I have played
this before, but I just don'tremember. So tell me about the final
boss. So the final Boss isliterally the boss from the boss from level
four, but a little darker blue. But the final alien will like hang

(15:09):
on the she has more moves. She'll like hang on this bar and then
drop fire down on you. Soyou need to like get out of the
way. And she's constantly like jumpingup into the background, whereas the first
one you fight in level four doesn'tdo that. Is it annoying? It's

(15:30):
like I can't consistently dodge it likesometimes fire. Yeah, Like sometimes I'll
jump and it won't hit me,and sometimes I'll jump it and it'll just
hit me. So I don't knownecessarily where I'm supposed to stand to do
that. Yeah, So would youplay through the game with all four characters?

(15:50):
I was like switching between you couldswitch. Yeah. I think the
Predator Hunter, which is like theyoung Predator, is the coolest one because
they're faster than the Predator Warrior andthe extra damage doesn't really matter because they

(16:10):
have the same special attack, right, So I think the Predator Hunter,
which is the orange one, isprobably the cool one. The Powerloader fight,
so at the end of level fiveyou fight a powerloader, yeah,
and then it's one of those things. By the time you get the level
seven, there's like a powerloader onevery screen right right, and they're they're

(16:30):
like tough because your special attacks don'tknock them over. So how do you
handle it? You have to hitthem and stay away. And then they
do this like where they attack withthe hands like yeah, so you need
to like cite them around the mapwhile you're fighting other people that you do
normal attacks on and they fall down. So that one's tough. This game,

(16:55):
I just read this on Wikipedia tobe honest, But this game almost
became a thirty two X game.Oh that would be cool, but the
thirty two X got canceled before itwas able to. It's a shame with
some of the games. There's likethe buckyo Hair Arcade game. There's the
um I just thought of another one. Um. I mean, well,
there's like, uh, what's itcalled the Ninja Baseball Batman. Yeah,

(17:18):
and there's a oh, the Battletoad'sArcade, some of these like this one.
There's all these like really cool beatthem up arcade games that we didn't
get ports of Simpsons. Yeah.Well I guess it was ported to the
Xbox Live Arcade, but I don'tknow that that counts. I mean,
like a Superintendent versions, you know, yeah, not like an emulated like
yeah, hang on twenty years later, right exactly, right? Yeah.

(17:41):
Yeah. So it's a good game. There's a lot to it. There's
not as much to it as theD and D games, so you don't
have like the spells and the inventoryand all that. That's when I always
said the way I like those onesso much because like, I get bored
with these games. But um me, getting bored with these games is also

(18:02):
partially my own fault because a lotof times I am just pumping in credits
or quarters, just going through it, and that's not really what you should
do. It's be like, Okay, I'm gonna give myself three quarters and
that's all I get, and solet's see how far I can get and
keep doing it. Only on thethree quarter and then that's how you get
really better at it and how youmake these games more interesting. And I
need to start doing that myself.I started doing that with schmups, yeah,

(18:25):
but I've never really done it thatmuch with Beat Them Ups. I
don't know why I should. Theonly thing I'm afraid of is is the
best strategy for this game? Likethat like rinse and repeat, special attack,
like very boring, very basic,Like yeah, you know, I'm
curious what the strats are because thereis a video on YouTube that's a like

(18:48):
no death, no no damage,it might even be damageless run of this
game. And I'm like, howdo the people I can't even imagine.
That's crazy, That's what That's whatexactly what I mean, Like, how
the fuck do people do these days? It's like final fight, no damage
or like, yeah, you knowany of these games, it's like,
okay, final fight, no damage. How do you fight that fucking samurai

(19:10):
guy in the ring where he justcharges at you and you can't? But
there, but people do it,and so there's a way, like yeah,
figure it out, you know.Yeah, that's where these games are
interesting, right, But I meanit's it's a lot of it's like I
said, I feel the same wayabout this as I felt about Metal Slug.
I didn't truly play Metal Slug untilthis year because I was trying to

(19:30):
get to the point where I waslike one crediting it exactly right, And
Metal Slug is a different game whenyou have to try to one credit it
when you only have so many becausewhen you're pumping quarters in you get grenades
on every life, you get theheavy machine gun every life, you get
all of that, right, soyou always have grenades. When you're trying

(19:55):
to do it on one credit, you need to save those fucking grenades.
And every time the girl comes by, that's like tiptoeing. You want to
like get more bombs, yeah, because you need them. This game is
like that too, because when youdie and you come back, the super
thing that makes you have no heatgauge yeah sometimes appears when you die.

(20:17):
I say, yeah, yeah,I mean I think that's what's KEPPT.
A lot of these games like interestingthroughout the years, because if we all
just played all these games with continuallypumping and credits, like, it wouldn't
be interesting. But it's all theselike sort of challenges of doing it.
One CC and everything that you know, keeps people coming back. Yeah,
so, I mean Alien Verse Predator. It's amazing pixel art. It is

(20:38):
a little muted, it is alittle gray. One other thing about this
game. This game has nothing todo with the Alien Verse Predator movie that
came out in two thousand and four. Prior to that, this came out
in nineteen ninety yeah, yeah, ten years before. But apparently the movie
this game was supposed to be amovie tie in to a script that didn't

(21:00):
get me, I say, Andit is a comic tie in, right,
Oh, there's a comic up itfrom nineteen ninety four. Yeah,
because I remember seeing Alien Verse Predatorstuff for years and years and years.
I'm like, what's this alien VersePredator? What is this? I know
alien Yeah, I know Predator. There's the movie. Well it's an Alien
Verse Predator and it didn't come outto the two thousand and four right.

(21:21):
Yeah. Well I was in collegein two thousand and four and I was
hearing about Alien Verse Predator right forten years because there was comics, there
was, Yeah, but I neverI think I remember seeing those comics back
then, and I'm pretty sure theywere like. I liked it because it
was they were like kind of gory, yeah, like that kind of stuff.
Yeah yeah, so I mean it'sit's cool stuff from a cool time.

(21:42):
I know that the movies have kindof soured people to uh the idea,
right, but I think we're gettinga new one. Yeah. It's
a great idea if it was donereally well. Yeah yeah, So hopefully
they figure that out. It'd befunny to have a new game. They

(22:03):
can do it. Okay, Sothere you go. So let's take this
game. What would you do toit that you think could improve it?
This this version of it. Imean you already said that you like it,
but yeah, I think that there'stimes where they just throw aliens,
like a ton of aliens at thescreen for no reason. That's rough.
I think so many aliens in thisgame, and so many people in this

(22:26):
game just walk in from the leftor right. Why aren't they like coming
from the background or like dropping downor whatever. Um, you know,
we have these characters that have thiscrazy ability set, but literally they just
walk right or they're on an elevatoror something. Like Dutch can't even jump

(22:47):
because his jump is like a bearhug attack with his like like that.
Yeah, speaking of bear hug attacksin games. I was playing Marvel Rus
Capcom two recently, and I lovezan Gif. Yeah. I would never
zife person, but now that Ican do the three sixty, yeah consistently,
he's better to play as now becauseI can. I can throw out

(23:10):
the spinning bio drivermally in that game. Yeah. Um, I like Strider
Hero because he has the launchers.Yeah, I like I'm like a scrub
Man. I like Cable because he'seasy because he does like the viper beam
and stuff like that. Wolverine RHEU. I don't know. I don't like

(23:30):
like high tier characters. I'm notdoing like an m Bison Sentinel, like
you know, I'm not plugged intoit, but I'm definitely you were more
than many. Yeah, but butI mean that that game, Yeah,
I was. I was playing aZangief and I'm like, you know,
nobody ever plays as him. Yeah, but his like spinning like the lariat

(23:52):
like that is so cool in thatgame, and he could do it in
the air that you could do thespinning thing like as he's coming down at
people. Be a Zanie player.Yeah, yeah, why not yea,
yeah, because Russia is so fashionablenowadays. Right, No, but I
like him, um yeah did thisgame? Definitely there's no way for the

(24:15):
characters to interact with each other,Like there's no assist attacks, like you
know how like Marge and and Homercan like do the spin and stuff like
that. Yeah, there's none ofthat. I was planning that recently.
She you know it's speaking of interestingmove sets and whatever. Marge in that
game, one of her main movesis that she like swings her ass Yeah.

(24:36):
Yeah, yeah. I spend somuch time for that. For that
move to come out consistently, thosebuttons need to be crisp, yeah,
because you want it to be wherelike if you go like this she does
she does it? Yeah right, how was you hitting it and was not

(24:57):
doing that? Like if you clarificationhe has the machine yeah, um if
you have like the shitty switches thatcame with it, yeah, they'll be
different heights or the rubber will beworn away differently, and then you can't
do it. That sucks. Soyou need like clicky like like gamer keyboard

(25:22):
right switches because then you could justand it happens, you fix it now
I did, Okay, I haveto the point where you just you just
yeah, and it comes out.Who do you like to use in Simpsons?
Um? Does anybody play as Lisa? I've been playing his homer a
lot because my Homer was the mostfucked up. Okay, because of that,

(25:44):
you fixed it. Yeah, you'relike happy that you fixed it.
Yeah right, You're like, Ifix this, yeah right. So,
but that was the one I'd spendthe most time with. So because I'm
sitting there, I'm sitting there withhim, I'm like, you just wanted
to see what you're handiwork all right. I brought my I brought my daughter
in and my son, and myson's like, yeah, dad, I'll

(26:07):
help you do the thing. Yeah. And he's sitting there and he's like
he'd play it for ten hours ifI needed him. But I needed her.
And she's sitting there and she's like, I'm like could you like it?
I'm like, I just need youto play through the first level and
let me know if the buttons work. And she's like fine, she does

(26:33):
it. We get to the end. I'm like okay, thanks, and
she like runs to do anything else. But your son is into it.
Yeah, but he's like, yo, what can I do? What can
I do? Oh? I havehim to the point where he was.
She like games though, like shedoes. She plays Split Tune, she
plays Smash, she plays Roadblocks. It's not that she's not into video games.
It's just she doesn't give a shitabout that. Yeah, she's like,

(26:53):
oh Simpsons, right, that's great. Great. Yeah I know,
but yeah, I'm not you knowwhat, I'm not interested in every game
either, right man? Yeah? You know, so we got it done.
Yeah, that one's away in magic. Too many games land, but
I want an Alien Verse Predator nowbecause I enjoyed playing this. That would

(27:15):
be cool. Yeah. It's agood, good game. It's a good
game. So, speaking of arcades, I'm gonna be talking about pac Man
Museum Plus for the Nintendo Switch wasa new Switch game that came out.
I gotta advertise this game so fuckingmuch so I could not escape this game.

(27:36):
I'm like on Twitter, I'm like, oh, it's going on Twitter.
Add I'm like on I'm on YouTubeadd right, I'm on everywhere every
fucking want to look at it.No, I'm just like, I must
have like a lot of like Arcadythings in my search history because they like

(27:56):
attacked me. I mean you do, Yeah, sure, it's all you
do is our case stuff like Icouldn't escape this game. These games,
like I'm gonna fucking find you likepac Man, motherfucker. Well here it
is. Here's fucking pac Man.What do you want? I'm like,
but I have pac Man games thataren't in here. You're like, but
I have, oh, because youhave a miss Pacman machine and Junior pac

(28:17):
Man, right, and I'm like, I had a miss Pacman machine,
but mine was fucked up. Themonitor was all fun, Like why don't
you get that? Like I getthey want to make money and they want
to do things. But like we'regonna talk about it. Go ahead.
So I got the all right, dude, he's gonna talk about the game.
So I got like a bunch ofnotes here. I'm gonna be looking
at my two pages. This isa two page or everybody, no,

(28:38):
it's one two oh shit three four, it's four page, four pages of
pack notes. All right. Sofirst of all, I want to talk
about the history of it so thatpeople like have a frame of reference.
Yea, so okay, So BandaiNamco may pac Man in nineteen eighty.
Yeah, it was popular, sothey wanted to have a sequel. Midway

(29:00):
helped distribute the original pac Man machine. And you have an original package.
You have pac Man and Miss pacMan. Right, My Junior pac Man
machine is actually an original pac Manmachine with the with the Junior pac Man
stickers, and you have on ityou have Junior pac Mans. You have
three. Yeah, Okay. Alsoanother thing, so somebody, some people
might be like, but I thoughtAtari made pac Man because when we were
growing up in the eighties and nineties, when we're at home our Super Nintendo

(29:23):
games or whatever, our Atari gamesthat we had and all that stuff,
it always had a Tari pac Manor whatever. But that's what we had
at home because they did the homeports. Namco made pac Man. So
let's just you know, clear thatup. So because some people might be
in the comments and be like, wait, I thought Atari, you know
did pac Man. It's it's aNamco did pac Man. Yes. Um.
So this was the era of arcademachines. You have these big,

(29:48):
heavy, coin op wooden machines.Ryan's got many of them. How many
do you have now? Forty sevenfucking forty seven? That's insane. So
and uh so, if a gamedidn't sell at let's say a game wasn't
popular in the arcades they had. They had this machine sitting there, it's
in a pizzeria, it's in anarcade, and the game sucks and nobody's
playing it. Now that people arelike, we had this big, heavy

(30:11):
thing and nobody's going over and playing. It's a piece of furniture. At
that point, nobody fucking cares. So what happens, or what happened back
then at least, is these othercompanies would come in and they would be
like, we are going to changethat machine from this the game that nobody's
playing into something that people will play. So that's where and they're called conversion

(30:32):
kits or whatever. So one ofthose field kits. Okay, I haven't
heard that term. Yeah, soum. One of the companies companies that
did the conversion kits was called GCCGeneral Computer Corporation. So General Computer Corporation
was trying to make an improved versionof pac Man that was called Crazy Auto.

(30:56):
They ended up selling Crazy Auto overto Midway, and Midway wanted it
because they knew that it could besold as a future pac Man game.
Okay, and that's when Bally Midwaymade Miss pac Man. So really this
GCC Corporation kind of hacked. Theysort of hacked the original pac Man to
like improve improve it. And that'swhere you know, that's because here's the

(31:21):
here's the dirty secret. At thetime, all of these boards that we're
talking about, the pac Man's,all of them have like a million bootlegs.
And the reason why is because thedata for the games is just sitting
on the little chips. And it'snot like the chips are hard to get
to, right. You don't evenneed a tool to pop them out.
Yeah, and you can literally popthem out of the board and read them

(31:47):
right. And then you know,so they were sitting there and they're like,
okay, there's there's six chips ina pac Man pop pop up.
Oh now they're over here already, this Arcade Conversion company. They're looking at
these chips and they're like, allright, So we could take pac Man
and we could like, what's wrongwith the game. This is wrong,
this is wrong. Let's let's fixit and then we'll resell it. And
then yeah, that so that wholesituation happened. So Miss pac Man was

(32:10):
nineteen eighty two. Again, Regularpac Man's nineteen eighty So Namco finally,
so and that was January nineteen eightytwo, Miss pac Man came out.
So now you come months and monthsand months later, you get to September.
Namco is like, okay, butwe didn't actually do that. We're

(32:30):
gonna make it from our ground up. We're gonna make the real sequel.
By that point, it was almosttoo late because Miss Pacman was so fucking
popular and you know, one ofthe most popular games ever, Miss Pacman.
You know, anywhere you go,it's like a Miss pac Man Galagha
machine. It is crazy. Itis crazy that Midway got away with this,
and to this day it's still aproblem. It's still fucked up,

(32:52):
and we're gonna talk about that.So Namco it was still nineteen eighty two.
Namco did their own sequel to pacMan. It's like, the true
sequel to pac Man is actually Superpac Man. Yeah, and Super pac
Man is actually a really interesting gamein its own right. It's a game
where you get keys to unlock doorsand you get little green power pellets that

(33:14):
turn pac Man huge so that youcan go through ghosts that doesn't kill them.
There's still the regular power pellets thatyou can actually kill the ghosts and
whatnot, and it's a that's agreat game in its own right, and
it's actually kind of a little bitmore interesting than Miss pac Man is.
Like, honestly, it's probably moreinteresting game. I love Miss pac Man,
but it's like there's more going onin Super pac Man anyway. So

(33:37):
and then after that, Ballly dida Baby pac Man as well. Now
Baby pac Man was half arcade machineand then half pinball machine, and I
almost wonder if they did that becauseit would be like a harder thing to
copy. You know, well, they're also a pinball company. They're also
a pinball company. I think theyjust probably did it because they thought it
was neat. Yeah, one ofthe I think the only time they ever

(33:59):
try anything like that. It's justa neat idea. I played. I
played that there's this place called Deezerlandin Orlando where it has the Orlando Car
Museums there and there's an arcade butthey have a pinball parlor in the back,
and I played that it was oneof the machines they had also a
couple of weeks ago. Um,that's really cool. I've played it before

(34:20):
too. Some people might like yellat us about this. If I get
any of this information wrong, I'msorry, but like, this is just
what I know, and if Iam wrong, please leave us a comment
like and let me know where I'mwrong. So, yeah, I might
be wrong on some of these things. But um so, then GCC did
Junior pac Man. That was alsonot Namco and Naco. I guess people
that game has Junior pac Man hasnever had the best reputation as far as

(34:44):
like gameplay goes. I think it'sfine if so. I have played the
Arcade game. They poured in itto the twenty six hundred, and I
actually liked that a little bit betterbecause the screen scrolls in the Atari twenty
six hundred version like vertically, andit also moves like really really fast.
It's really hard. So I likethe Junior pac Man on Atari a lot.
I like it more than the Arcadeversion. But the Arcade version.

(35:07):
I like the Arcade version. Ithink it's fine. But a lot of
people don't like it. They don'tlike the scrolling screen, I guess,
and that you can't see the wholescreen. It's hard. You can't see
the whole screen. There's just somany, so many pellets to get and
it's so hard to get the ghoststo group. Yeah, to be able
to get the pellet and get allthe go get all the ghosts. It's

(35:27):
hard. Yeah, So I don'thate it's it's probably not the best.
But you know what, this willalso remind me of, like you gotta
remember so with some of these games, like Bally is like working with GCC
back then. Like if you likeso on the let's say like the Junior
pac Man Marquis and all that,it still says Bally Midway. So they're
working with this company at that time. It almost reminds me of the relationship.

(35:52):
Here's my Zelda reference when Nintendo wasworking with Capcom and they were doing
the Oracle games and Minish cap andall that. They were just work it
was another company because pac Man wasso popular they needed help at the time,
and they're like, we need morepac Man ship. So they're like,
I think the only reason they gotaway with it because Damn Co's over
in Japan, right and then thenand then Midways here helping to put out

(36:14):
the machines and they needed somebody elseto work with. That's in States.
I guess I didn't have like ayou know here anyway. So that's some
of the history behind it. Andum, I know, I didn't even
get into talking about the switch gameand all that, but we'll get into
it. So I'm gonna keep goingwith this though. So, as the
pac Man games are released digitally,GCC wanted to be paid. Yeah,

(36:34):
so now we're going to like moderntime. Now that was the old stuff.
Now we're going to modern times. They want they want their fucking money
because they owned part of it.Yeah, so legally, so GC want
C wants the money for any ofthe digital downloads containing missus pac Man.
So that's why this collection doesn't haveMiss pac Man or you know, Miss
pac Man, May's Madness and allthis other stuff aren't on this collection.

(36:55):
So GCC and Bandai, you know, we're gonna, uh Namco, We're
gonna Bandai Namco, We're gonna workout a deal. And this is around
twenty nineteen or so. And thenwhat happened is as they're like about to
work out a deal at games, swoops in and they're like, we want
to make a mini cabinet for Misspac Man and they buy it and then
Namco's like the fuck right, right, So then they had a lawsuit this

(37:22):
like twenty twenty. Now now we'recoming into recent times, it's still going
on, and it's still going on. Yeah. Um, so now they're
like, no, this is bullshit. We were gonna finally own Miss pac
Man. This is all gonna beover. And then so at Games like
basically they own own it now.So I think there was like a pac
Man Anniversary and all of this, and they're like, all right, we're

(37:43):
gonna put out this this collection ofpac Man games on the Switch, but
we want to we want to includeMiss pac Man and all that. So
this big lawsuit happens, and thedetails of it aren't even out there,
so we don't even know exactly whathappened, but we do know that missus
pac Man, miss pac Man,miss pac Man is not on the game,

(38:04):
and so obviously it didn't work outvery well because Miss pac Man is
not on it. So what theydid instead of giving at Games money,
they were like, we're gonna changethe names because whatever. So because some
of the games, like pac Landhas Miss pac Man in it for like
a second, so they changed herat a pac Mom so when you see
her, she's like dressed a littledifferently it's just like just enough for them

(38:24):
to get away with it, butthey shouldn't have to get away with anything
because it's fucking namto. They madepac Man. It's like that's their shit,
right, So if I were them, I would feel the same way.
I'd be like, I'm not giving. So they could have paid at
games, and they could have beenlike, Okay, we'll pay you at
games and then then we'll be ableto put miss pac Man in the game.
But then they're they're like, weare pac Man's are think we're not

(38:47):
paying you to put pac no.Because this is the equivalent of if if
you know, Warner Brothers made aMini Mouse cartoon before there was a Mini
Man else. Well, I meannow we can get into how Universal stole
Oswald the luck to Rabbit. Yeah, that's the better example, right,

(39:08):
you know, the original creation beforeMickey Mouse was Oswald, and then Universal
Walter Lance and all that came instole it and they started making Oswald.
There's Universal Oswald cartoons. Yeah thatyou can you know, and that's a
that's another whole. But like it'sit's insane, like this is something that
should be fixed. Oh, itshould have been fixed along it should have

(39:30):
been this should have been fixed inthe eighties. Yeah, but they like
sat on it or whatever. Soat this point it's like I want the
thing is is like you'd be like, you know what, Namco, just
fucking just get it over with,Just pay the fucking at Games and then
you own it forever and just bedone with us, wash your hands of
it. Right, Yeah, butyou don't know how much AT Games wants
and they're probably like one billion dollars, right, They're like, we don't

(39:53):
okay, so you you're telling uswe're gonna put out a collection next year
or something on the switch and soit it can include Miss pac Man May's
Madness and pac Man Rally or something, just so that we can do that,
and you want like one hundred billionmijillion dollars or however much they probably
and then well they can't make thatmoney back? Is what did at Game?

(40:15):
What does at Games have going on? They wanted to make a mini
cab that's great, right, youknow who should have made that mini cabinet?
Namco? Yeah wow. And atGames, by the way, also
made a bunch of those like shittyconsoles. Yeah, they made this shitty
one. It's like the Sega Genesisthing, and it has like the infrared
controller, which it's like the plasticis like brittle, and it's like it's

(40:37):
fucking trash. It's awful. Andnow they own misspac Man. Yeah,
yeah, it's nice. Um So, anyway, let's get into talking about
this actual collection though. So thisactual collection. Um So, there's there
is this problem that you know, you can't have any of the misspac Man
games, but I want to talkabout the games it does have. Game

(40:57):
We're gonna talk about the games itdoes have in the games it does.
So first of all the games thatit does not have, Okay, okay,
So the pac Man Atari games, like the Atari twenty six hundred,
seventy eight hundred, the Atari computers, yea, all that, none of
that, but there is a background. There is like a you can make
a wallpaper that's like the twenty sixhundred background. But you might be like,
well, why would I even wantthat, because it's fucking everybody had

(41:20):
it right. It's you know, yeah, it's maybe not the best game
of the best port, but itshould if you're gonna have a collection of
pac Man games that's iconic, evenif it's not good. Should be on
it, Junior. Pac Man forAtari is a really good game that's not
on here. But we know,we just discuss why that can't be on
there. Miss pac Man May's Madnesson a Nintendo sixty four is not on
it. Pac Man two The NewAdventures, which that game's crap but still,

(41:44):
pac Man World, pac Man Rally. These are all games not on
it. Pac Man Fever, whichwas on GameCube, pac Man and the
Ghostly Adventures, which that's based onthe cartoon. Yes, that was on
the three sixty p S three weuse three DS. By the way.
Pac Man the Ghostly Adventures was justtrending all over Twitter the other day.
I don't know why, probably justbecause people were naming it or whatever.

(42:06):
It's kind of interesting, but Ialmost I was like, is this like
are the is Namco somehow doing thison purpose so that like they can sell
more copies of this switch game?I always like wonder about switch Ship like
that. But pac Man Championship Editiontwo is not on it. The first
one is, but two is not. Pacman ninety nine is not on it.

(42:27):
Pac Man none of the like Commodosixty four old computer versions, none
of that is on it. Babypac Man is not on it, so
that's all everything not on it.So there are a bunch of games that
are not on it. But let'snow talk about the games that are on
it. You get pac Man,Super pac Man, pac Mania, which
pac Mania was the one that Iplayed at my old grocery store when I

(42:52):
was a kid. It's the onethat's like Legos and all. Yeah,
it's got the Marquis that's like thepop album molded Marquis where pac Man's like
coming out of it. It's it'sinteresting thing. Pack and Pal pac Man
Arrangement pac Man Arrangement CS, whichis the PSP game. So I wonder
how many PSP games have been portedto the Switch, how many PSP games

(43:13):
have been ported in general? Right, But so that's a PSP game that's
been supported to the Switch. Nowinteresting pac Man Championship Edition, the first
one, not the second one forsome reason. Pac Man Battle Royale,
which is only really fun in thearcades. Playing it on this is weird
because it's like you gotta play thatgame of friends. Pacman two five six,
which I love. That's one ofmy favorites. Pac Land and that's

(43:34):
the one where they have pac Momin it. Pack Attack, which fucking
that's like Tetris. It's bad. That's the Superintendent game. Pack and Roll
remix and then pac Moto. Thosewere two Wei games. So Pack Pack
and Roll. It's like you're rollingaround and pac Man's like a circle.
I get why they want him.Tony Ball. It's like if Monkey Ball

(43:57):
was shit. This is the micreview. This is well, well,
pack and Roll remix it's okay, yeah, but it's not Monkey ball um
Pack Attack that was the that wasthe So Ryan and I had a long
time ago and we did this video. Guys remember Vine, Yeah, we
did the video. What was thevideo? It was like we were we

(44:22):
were we were saying all the pacMan games, like like he remember Vine
was like pre TikTok. So itwas like remember, so we're in his
apartment and he has all of thepack when apartment, right, he has
all the pac Man games and hegets him in a pile and like in
Vine, you like press the buttonand it records, yeah, and then

(44:45):
you press the button and then youlet go and then you only have a
certain amount of time, so youpress the button. So he's like pac
Man, Miss pac Man. Yeah, and he went through like every single
Man, every single pac Man.So the mine was just like pac Man,
Junior Pacman, Miss Pacman. Ifeel like I'm doing a remake it.
Yeah right, um Pacmotos, whichis the same kind of thing.

(45:08):
You're like rolling around, but you'reon platforms in the sky and you're like
knocking each other off the platform. That's that one. And then Pack in
Time, which is another. It'slike a Sonic the Hedgehog want to be
It's on Superintendo. It sucks,Yeah, it fucking sucks. You have
items and it's it's I'm going PackingTime, gonna be a Gottney. It's
the best Superintendo game. Now,it's not. It's not. Some of

(45:30):
these games are great. So Superpac Man, Um, I love Super
pac Man. We already talked aboutthat. Pac Mania. I don't really
like pac Mania that much, eventhough I'm nostalgic for it. But it's
very slow. It might get faster. Would you rather play Pacmania or Tasmania
on Genesis? Oh? Well,so the Genesis and the Supernintendo One are

(45:52):
different. As far as Tasmania goes. The Super Nintendo One is the one
where you're just running down the road. It's fucking awful. Yeah. The
Tasmania that's on Genesis is actually prettygood. Yeah, and there's like,
uh like the Tazan Mars or whatever. That game is actually not bad.
I like Tasmania on Genesis. TheGenesis ones are. Yeah. So then
there's Pack and Pal. That onewas Japan only, Okay, So the

(46:15):
idea of pack and Pal is pacMan's going around and there's cards laying all
over the place. You pass bythe card, and when you pass by
a card, it opens the door, and then you can go in the
door, and then there might bea cherry and then you gotta go get
the cherry. But oh oh,you're a little green person which is her
name is Miru. She runs andshe grabs the cherry and she's gonna bring

(46:37):
it back to where the ghost spawn, so you got to get it from
her first so they can get thepoints. She's not a pal, she's
not at all really, She's actuallysucks yea, so she's always like fucking
you up basically. And then there'salso the ghosts, so you're sore,
you're passing by the cards and allthis. But what's interesting about that game
there's also rally X and Galagha tiein or Galaxion tie in where some of

(47:01):
the items that you get you flipa card and it might be a Galaga
card or galaxion. You flip itand then you get an item and then
pac Man turns blue and he canshoot fucking laser beams and shit. So
um, so the ghosts come andyou're like and like shoot all these fucking
laser beams and then they're they're likestunned, and then then you can get

(47:21):
by them or whatever, and butyou get points from doing that, so
it's not like you get the powerpellets. It's like you're shooting them with
like laser beams. Hit. Thenwhen you get to the next stage,
then it's like rally X and insteadof that, you get the little rally
X car. And then pac Manshoots smoke out of his mouth. Yeah,
and the smoke comes out, whichlingers on the screen, and then
if the ghosts run into that, they get like stunned, and that's how
that works. And but the mirrorcharacter fucking is really annoying. They didn't

(47:46):
bring the game to the United States, but they were going to because there
was a pac Man cartoon in theearly eighties, and what happened is people
didn't really like the pac Man cartoonvery well as Hannah barbera pac Man cartoon.
So because of the fact that Ithink that cartoon didn't do super hot
what they're so in that cartoon, there was pac Mans wife and they had

(48:07):
a baby, and they had adog, and the dog's name was Chomp
Chomp, and they were gonna bringit over to the United States and there
was gonna be a cabinet in theUS and Meru, the little green girl
going around taking your shit that sucks. She was gonna be Chomp Chomp,
and the game is gonna be calledpac Man and Chomp Chomp, but they
never did it, So that's likekind of the Lost pac Man. Yeah,

(48:28):
so there's that game. You getthat, and I think that's a
pretty interesting game. And I youknow, so there's a whole collection here
of games that are good. Theemulation's good. They did a nice job
on it, and like when you'replaying pac Man, it's got the bezel
for the actual arcade and I likechecked it side by side for like all
the games, and it's like it'swhat you would want if you're gonna do

(48:49):
Yeah, because some of these fuckingcollections. I'll give you an example,
the Xbox, like three sixty one. It's like you're playing Miss pac Man
or you're playing some of these things, and they had these weird backgrounds that
you're like, this doesn't look likethe arcade machine. So they actually like
made it look like the real machinesand all that. So that was really
nice. It's just the shame thatthey weren't able to, you know,

(49:10):
get every game on here, likeI had mentioned. But one of the
things that there's all these unlockables youcan do. So like you play pac
Man and they play it for alittle while and you get like points and
coins and whatever, and you cango to a gash Upon machine and then
you can get this is like themodern shiiteah, so you can get like
the gash Upon figure. Oh it'slike, oh I got pac Man,
or I got like I got likea golden pac Man. There's all that

(49:31):
you can do that if you want, and you can decorate the room,
and I don't care about any ofthat. I wish instead of all this
cosmetic rewards, right, because likeone of the things is like you'll play
pack and Pal for a while andthen it's like, oh, you could
take now you can get the machineand you can put another pack and pal
machine in the arcade, and it'slike I can already play that. It

(49:52):
doesn't matter. Why didn't they havedo like what Nintendo did with HD Remix,
where there was like challenges that wouldsay, fucking awesome, there's your
idea that's better than what I'm evengoing to say. Ideas really good.
But what I was gonna say was, um so instead of having unlockables to

(50:13):
where like, okay, you playpac Man and you get fifty thousand points
and then it unlocks another it unlocksa flag that you can put on the
wall with pac Man on it.Instead of shit like that, how about
I know that they can't put juniorpac Man on here. I get it.
You can't pay at games that wholething. But they have other games.
Here's some Namco games, Dig Doug, Legend of Valkyrie, Galagha,

(50:36):
Food Fight, Tower of Dragua,Rally X, Dragon, Spirit Tech,
in Pole Position, Dangerous Seed,Mappy, Sky kid Zs, all these
other Namco games. Now I'm nottelling yeah, this product exists, you're
talking about Arcade archives. No,it's pac Man's Pixel Party. It's an
arcade machine that Namkel sells today. But I'm talking about something for them to

(50:58):
put on the switch. Yeah, but they have the ROM for Pixel Bar,
so Pixel Party is the new one. Then, like a couple of
years ago, is pac Man's anArcade Bash? Right? They literally make
that, right, Like this softwareexists, right, why don't they just
really pac Man's Arcade Party or pacMan's Pixel Bash on switch. Well,

(51:21):
they see the idea here is tohave like all the pac Man games like
in one. Yeah. Well, what I'm saying is they have that,
but it has like all and ithas that and roll like pack and Roll
and Pac Moto. No it doesn't, That's what I'm saying. But it
has the ship that you're mentioning, right, So I mean I guess you
could also get that. Yeah, but I'm just saying, So what I
wanted them to do would be like, Okay, you're playing Super pac Man

(51:44):
and you get fifty thousand points, then it unlocks Galagha and then you can
play at the Galaga. That'd becool, and then you could pop that
into the arcade. Yeah, becausethey already they own this ship because it
literally costs them nothing to put Galgain this They own it, so I
get that they probably don't want toput every fucking game they ever made on

(52:05):
it. That's me being like,it's just spoiled brat, Like, yeah,
but give me everything you ever made. I don't want them to do
that, but I do think theyshould make some high tier things, like
Okay, give me something to worktowards. Like if I'm playing Super pac
Man, make it that if Iget two hundred thousand points and I sit
there and I play over and overthat all unlock food fight tails of Symphonian,

(52:25):
like let me unlock something you know? Yeah, well, you know
yeah. And some people said, like tech In and stuff. I think
if they were gonna do that, they should keep it to the old stuffing.
By the way, when you starttech In on PlayStation, what happens
while the game is loading? Idon't know. You have to Galga plays.
Oh yeah, so it's loading andyou could play Galga. See isn't

(52:50):
that cool? Samco? Yeah right, I always thought that was the coolest
thing. There were times when Iwould play tech In, not to play
tech In, but just to dothe loading screen Galga. Yeah, because
it lets you keep playing. Yeah, and after it's already loaded, if
you're still alive, you could keepplaying. Yeah, but it's one coin.
I'm not very good at it.I just play it and I just
try to do the trick where youget the two ships and then I'm I'm

(53:12):
good. I've never been very goodat Galica. Yeah, but I mean
that's another thing I could. Theycould do a Galaga collection. Do Galaga
and what is a Galuppus and Galaxianand like all those. You know,
I'm way better at Galaxian than Galga. Yeah, it's hard, you know,
it's hard. Then they have likea bunch of other ones. There's
so there's one called Pacman Arrangement onthere, which is I guess it came

(53:35):
out in Japan. It was likea Japanese arcade. But I was like,
I've played that ship before and Iwas trying to figure out where I
played it, and I found outso it was on a game Boy Advanced
collection called the Pacman Collection, andI played it there years ago and like
it's good, but it has continues. So it's like again, it's the
same thing like you were talking aboutwith the Alien Verse Predator. It's like
you just keep popping in the quarters. It's scoring, so like, if

(53:58):
I want to play some of thesegames, it's like I gotta I gotta
limit myself, you know, andonly do one credit so that it's interesting
because I kept putting, I justkept kidding continue and I'm like, there's
not there's no challenge here because Ican just keep continuing, you know.
So, Um, but that's apretty that's a pretty cool game, and
I like the graphics on it.All that said, it might sound like
I don't like this, I dothink that this is very worth picking up.

(54:20):
There's a lot of fun to behad here. The emulation is very
good, and it's got some ofthe later three D stuff too that you
don't see that often. Yeah,I definitely recommend getting it. I think
I think you should get it ona physical because, as you know,
what are the chances that in adecade from now you're going to be able
to go onto the Nintendo Switch eshop and download this game? Zero fucking

(54:40):
zero? Right, Yeah, Soif you own a physical of it and
your switch still works, then you'llbe able to play it absolutely, doload
it or whatever. Because I becauseten years later I came back to the
Xbox Live Arcade, and I waslike, oh, I have miss pac
Man and Simpsons because I downloaded itten years ago. But you can't get

(55:00):
it anymore. Though you probably probablyhaven't been able to get it for eight
years or something. I once saya little license went out or whatever.
Yeah, so all this shit, you know, I have thought for a
while, I was like, oh, yeah, like net Fillex is great
and all this, and you know, you know, watch things on Disney
Plus and all these things. Butyou know, as far as video games
and movies go, I'm kind offor what I'm trying to say is I

(55:22):
was steering in the direction of like, yeah, digital's fine, but then
I was like, oh yeah, but then they take it all away from
you or they change things, right, So it really is good to have
the physicals. Actually, yeah,I mean more and more I'm getting physical
versions of games because I mean, look how long it took us to get
Scott Pilgrim. Like that's a reallygood example of that. Yeah, you

(55:43):
know, so so yeah, Imean how much is this collection? What
did you pay for that? Ithink it's nineteen ninety nine. Oh that's
not bad at all. It's worthit. Like, yeah, fucking just
pac Man alone. You can playpac Man for the rest of your life,
and if that's not enough, youget Super pac Man. The two
things right there, those are twoclassic games that you can play the rest
of your whole fucking life. Andthen you get pac MANI a pac and

(56:06):
pal Pac arrangement, you know, pac Man two five six, which Pacman
two five six is probably my favoriteof like all these and which is interesting
because it's like they made that gamein the last like whatever eight years or
something, and that game is fantastic, and not included was pac Man ninety
nine, which you know what sucksabout pac Man ninety nine. That game
is really good, but it's notgonna be around forever unless some kind of

(56:28):
fan in the future like finds away for people to like play it.
But like, once they take theservers down, you won't be able to
play that game, right, Andso enjoy pac Man ninety nine while last
I guess, but yeah, butit's a fun game. Um. I
do like that they're continuing to tryto do things to keep pac Man alive
and update pac Man, and sometimesthey're successful and sometimes they're not. In

(56:51):
the Super Nintendo era, they didlike they're like, oh, let's make
pac Man U Tetris and it's likethat, then Man super like like pac
Man shit. For a long time, it was there's a big dark time.
Yeah, but I think now withlike the Championship Edition, Yeah,
brought it back. Pac Man BattleRoyale, which I don't think it's fun

(57:12):
on this, but you play inan arcade with friend with three or your
friends very fun. Yeah, andthen Pacman two five six is great.
So I'm excited to see for whatelse they can come up with with pac
Man and come out with something somethingcool. I think this is a kind
of off topic, but I thinka Mario Kart ninety nine is possible.
I was like thinking about like howthey could make it work. Yeah,
Like I totally think it's like apossible thing. Imagine. So because the

(57:37):
way like Tetris ninety nine works andpac Man ninety nine works is you have
all the other ninety nine players onthe side. So let's say you were
playing Mario Kart and you have allthe other people on the side. I
feel like each race you would justbe versus seven other real people, Like
you couldn't have ninety nine people likeall races and at the same time and

(57:57):
be like too many, but youjust get a batch of people and then
and then maybe when you go tothe next race, like it swaps it
out with another you know, seven, but you still but you're still seeing
what's going on with the other nineto nine people. I don't know.
I just feel like there's what ifthey're like ghosts maybe yeah, they could
be ghosts, yeah, like onthe track or something. I definitely think
it's possible. Yeah, but um, you know, it's also thinking about

(58:21):
Mario Kart. Sorry I'm going offtopic of Mario Kart now, but like,
I think it's fucking weird how thatgame came out on we you and
there's still relationship for it. It'slike now they're doing the tracks, which
is really cool, but fucking sowhen they announced the tracks, everybody's like,
Yo, that's fucking awesome Mario carttracks, and it is. It
is awesome that we're getting more MarioKart tracks, but it's like we're like
applauding Nintendo for them releasing tracks late. Remember when we used to get a

(58:47):
cartridge and the whole game was onthe cartridge. It's like, so this
whole year of twenty twenty two,we're gonna keep getting more tracks, which
is great, but I feel like, shouldn't we have gotten those tracks originally?
And then also, what's what's twentytwenty three gonna be. They're finally
gonna be like new Battle Mode, and then all twenty twenty three, then
they're gonna be like, Okay,so here's now, we're gonna release one

(59:08):
Battle Mode Arena, and then inMay you get another battle So it took
them like ten years to make thisgame or whatever. Yeah, they keeping
releasing shit for it, and it'slike, yo, remember when like I
went to fucking Toys Russ and Ibought Super Mario Kart and guess what it
had? Battle had all that shit, it was there the whole fucking game.
Popped it in, done same thingon Nintendo sixty four. And now

(59:28):
now they're like, fuck this shit, let's keep charging these motherfuckers. Yeah
you want more tracks. Yeah, they want the only game you play to
be Mario Kart. It's gonna beMario Kart eight until we're fucking dad.
Yeah that's it. So yeah, that's pac Man cool. That's why I
got back man. Guys, thankyou very much for watching that. This
week's episode of Talk About Games. We will be back next week. We

(59:51):
do this show eight o'clock every EasternStandard time eight o'clock on YouTube. Check
it out, be here, behere for the premieres. If you're watching
this later, make sure you comeand watch it in the premieres. Leave
a comment because it's good for thefucking algorithm, so that somebody can watch
feed the goddamn algorithm. Leave acomment, or don't go, just go

(01:00:12):
about your day and do whatever.Play Man, go play pac Man,
or go play Ali Verse Predator,or what's an easy way for them to
play that game? That's me.I just downloaded it on meme. Um,
if you're using retro arch, yougot to use Meme two thousand and
three because Meme, the most recentname, won't play it. So what
kind of collection could they do?What would be that to have like this

(01:00:35):
game released on the switch? Wouldthat that would be Arcade archives or like
yeah, this could be like theCapcom archive that they could do, but
it's licensed, so they won't.Right, Well, that's why they have
to do some kind of like theywould have to do Alien and Alien Verse
Predator. And I'm trying to thinkof what else they'd include in some kind
of package to be able to putthis on the switch. Yeah, so
it's um who did it, it'scap Cuts, cap Cut's ACoM, So

(01:01:00):
like what would they put this way? So, I mean Capcom already has
their Arcade collection where they have allthe DLC where you keep downloading arcade games.
They would just have to license itfor that. Yeah, I mean
that's about it. That'd be agood thing for them to put out with
the movie. I'm saying that becauselike recently they did like the Turtles yea
thing, and that's like license,So they have to get some kind of

(01:01:21):
like like yeah, and they andthey already have the I forget what it's
called Capcom Arcade whatever where it hasall the candy cabs and it has the
leader boards and it's they already havea thing. They just need to license
the Arcade Stadium thing. Yeah,Capcom Arcade sam Stadium. Yeah yeah,
they just need to add it,right Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, that's
it, guys, Thank you verymuch for watching, and we will see

(01:01:44):
you next week. See you nextweek.
