Speaker 1 (03:10):
So this evening, our guest co host is retired Lieutenant
Colonel David Flipple, candidate for CD four. Well be back,
you know.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
You mentioned seven seven five alive there.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
I don't think they've missed a show. I think they're
always listening longer. This takes gets for us, and I
think he's going to find out real quick that that's
not going to be the case. They're they're giving President
Trump the reins to do what he needs to do.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Well. Today, the Workers Union for the Federal Government Workers
Told came out and said to the Democrats in this shutdown.
And so that's the largest union of workers in the
federal testimon And so I saw on X this morning
people have to go to food banks because they didn't
(03:59):
get their checks and they don't have any food for
their families.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
All of the military men and women out there who
are not receiving anything it's just horrible, only for what
so illegals can receive, you know, health insurance.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
It's well, don't they realize that the illegals are being
deported and so they don't need health as geurts where they're.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Going, or they've self deported themselves. But no, it's what
they're asking for to add.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
To this concurrent.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Continuing the resolution is just ludicrous. They have passed this
thirteen times before when when they were in charge, and
guess this is Biden's budget. All they're doing is approving
budget Biden's budget to keep going. So the messaging that
they're doing like this is the Republican fault, this is
Trump's fault. It's not resonating with the American people, and
(04:45):
it's not resonating with the unions. And I think it's
going to be pretty bad for the Democrats. I think
they've lost their party in actuality and they're trying to
find a new leader. And if that new leader is Mendani, wow,
we are in for wide awakening there with the Democratic Party.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Yeah, that might be a question of the Dave vinifsy
I'm so afraid if he gets in.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
Yes. Growing up in New York City, my whole life,
seeing a big you know, a world where there's so
many people melting a pot of people. And to know
that Curtis is out there since the nineteen seventies, going
out there and helping us at the Angels. It just
there's no question to vote for, you know.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
You know, I'd like to hear some people calling in,
especially from the left side. I want to hear how
this is resonating with the left and how we can
actually try to figure out what's in your mind out
there that leads you to believe that this is somehow
the Republican's fault when all they've done is done what
the Democrats did for the last thirteen votes.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
So callers, please call in seven zero two two two
one seven two a three. We really want to hear
from you about this issue. But in the meantime, as
I was going through your bio, Melissa, then I have
something popped up on social media about a hurricane hitting
Jamaica and called Melissa and I said.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Oh, no, I know it's one of the places I
always want to go to, is Jamaica.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
You finally got one named after you.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Well, then I was thinking, right, isn't it there must
have been like thirteen hurricanes by now or something this year,
isn't that's how they name them?
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Yes, yeah, that's why.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, women get the name. Usually they name them after women.
I don't think I believe.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Well they're called hurricanes.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Yeah, I do pray for those people in you know,
the Jamaican area. And so Melissa, you just told us
where you grew up in New York, So they just
tell us a little bit more and how long you've
been in Nevada And how do you like it here?
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Well? I love it here. I've been here for eight
years officially, but however before that, about twenty years before
that back and forth, and realized eight years ago this
is where God was sending me, and so came here
and ever since just been progressively trying to help the
community as much as I could. So, yeah, born and
raised in New York City, seeing that whole big city
(07:09):
life and how crazy it is, and just figured out
here it's not as big as a city, which that's
why I love it and don't want to see those
crazy legislations like over there. Come here. You know, people
are so gung quo. Oh yes, what a great idea.
But they they've never been there. It's almost like socialism.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yeah, I think we've got a lot of legislation here
now mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
So you ran for eighty fifteen and twenty twenty four
in the twenty twenty four election cycle and retrospect, what
are your thoughts or comments we've got in your twenty
twenty four campaign.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
I'm happy I did it. I really wanted to, you know,
be the incumnant who is more worried about putting men
in girls' sports, which is someone who was in sports
my life. There's nowhere that needs to be and so
I wanted to that and all the other things he
was doing. Like you know, now, I believe from what
I'm hearing, he pays more attention to the insects and
(08:07):
what they care for in policy rather than what the
taxpayers need. So but it was a great experience learning
what everyone needs in this neighborhood and community and still
striving every day in ways to help out and what
people need, especially small business owners. You know, two thousand
and twenty twenty, when COVID happened, we all lost our businesses,
(08:30):
and so understanding that it's me trying to help everybody
else too. And Las Vegas has a horrific time when
it comes to having business owners here wanting to stay.
And you know the cost of living for us is
out of control more than other cities.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
So do you have any further political aspiration?
Speaker 4 (08:49):
I can see so. Yes, it's still gathering by who's
and what's and where's here in town, understanding what's needed.
And it may not be for right today or this year,
but yeah, I can definitely see my name on ballots
in the future.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Callers, the number is seven zero two two two one,
seven two eight three, or you can email us at
Flack Radio Show at gmail dot com. And you're listening
to talk with a conservative.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
Get ready football bags. The Los Angeles Rabs are back
at They're hungrier than ever in the City of angel
where stars shine bright. A new chapter on holes on
a gridired Buckle up because the Rabs are about to
electrify the NFL. All Los Angeles Rams games can be
heard right here on KSHB A and fourteen hundred and
(09:52):
one of seven point one fl Los Angeles Rams Football
sponsored by Steiners Perg a trune of batter style.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
You're listening to talk with a conservative tradition meets truth
It's time to cut through the noise and get back
to really matters. Let's talk.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
We're here this evening with our special guest co host,
retired Lieutenant Colonel David Flipball, running for City four that's
our district, and our guests Melissa lin Spence and she's
an entrepreneur and we're going to get back to her
in a minute. Melissa, I've read that in twenty twenty
(10:40):
four you were banned from Facebook? Is that correct?
Speaker 6 (10:44):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Are you still bad for Live?
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I do?
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Yeah, congratulations.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Well, ironically it's funny because we're in the studio. But
I used to have a show here and doing pretty
good a few thousand people, and then, you know, like
I said, moved on to Live studio audience. And I
had a doctor that was here saying that he was
going to go to New York and help out with COVID,
And so when he was there, maybe a few weeks later,
(11:10):
you know, he gets calls me and says, hey, I
know you reach, is there a way you can start
promoting about this COVID nineteen and all the answers for
us as well? Of course, you know it's a no brainer, right,
It's just information to help people. And so the second
I did that, that's when I started getting all the heat.
I would run my show off of there. Facebook was
(11:34):
my go to. I would have you know, either athletes
on to whomever, just random people, and then all of
a sudden, the show would be off. So I'm like,
I cannot run a business through this way and realize
how socialistic Facebook and the platform was itself. So I said,
I'm off, I'm done with this, and yeah, I'm an American,
don't tell me when I can and can't say? And
(11:54):
so how many lives do we lose just because they
decided on the back ends to hire these kids, kids
who it was proven they were being charged eighteen dollars
an hour on Craigslist. They found these kids and if
anything triggered them, which everyone knows, you know, this generation
of kids, they're always triggered. They could just click on
it and boom.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
So how many lightly when they're getting paid so you.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
Know, oh yeah, they got triggered real easy.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
So you you were in good company then during that time.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Yeah, and so I had to restart the brand, restart everything.
The show used to be Missy Fits Sports and I
used to cover the teams here and then switch it
over and now my world is go with Melissa dot
com and helping out on that end. But yeah, so
still haven't been back on Facebook.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Hey, let's remind you, remind your listeners to call in
about this shutdown. We really want to hear you about that.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Yeah, the super shutdown. It's like it's going on. And
I follow a lot of Facebook and YouTube and things
like that, and actually I read it too, and I
see a lot of posts about people on foodstamps are
really concerned that they won't get foodstamps to November, and
it's good to be concerned. But they seem to blame
(13:04):
Donald Trump for it. And this is crazy to me
because the hold up is in the Congress. It's in
the Senate because Democrats are voting not to pass the budget.
They need sixty votes. All Republicans except one are voting
to pass the budget.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
And I believe one Democrat that John Fetterman didn't.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Absolutely, It's like we actually have a couple in our
Senate here. Masstow Cortes did vote to pass the budget.
But it's like people don't have a good grasp of
civics when they blame the president. It's not the executive
branch holding it up. It's not the judicial branch, which
they will do it will hold up sometimes, it's the
(13:48):
legislative branch. These are the people you vote for every
two years to go there and do your business and
every six years in the Senate, and they're holding up
your food stamps. It's not the administration. It's not done
with Trump.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
So they need at least seven more votes from Democrats
so they can reach the sixty.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Yeah, it might be down to five now, Okay, somewhere
in there.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
But if we come to pilobuster, that's right.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
But you know my opponent, Stephen Rsford, you know, he
voted to keep the government shut down too, so you
know another reason that I'm running. And the fact that
he actually went to Memdani's fundraiser a couple of weeks
ago tells you kind of where he's lining up with
the communists.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
So absolutely ask you a question. Our guest last week
intimated that Horsford is the chair of the Veterans Affair Committee.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
No, I don't think that's true anymore. Okay, I think
he was on it, but I don't think he's on
it now. If you go to his website and so well,
was he ever the chair? I don't think he was
ever the chair. No, there's a concern that he would
be if if the Democrats win the House Representatives. Right,
so not only with him being maybe Roan's Affairs chair,
but you would have somebody like Jasmine Crockett is the
(15:04):
always like committee chair. Would that be the wouldn't that
be insane? So this this midterm election is so critical.
Uh you mentioned AOC Jasmine Crockett, Stephen Horsford in charge
of committees.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
That it's insane, it's laughable.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Yeah. And doctor Losito last week indicated that he was
at the establishment with the coming out of the Veterans
Affairs or the Veterans Resource Center in North Las Vegas,
and if I remember it, he didn't mention what happened
to you at that?
Speaker 5 (15:37):
Was he there for that?
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Where I got kicked out of that or that?
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Yeah, so I get to wear a badge too, you know.
In fact, I was invited and I paid to be
at that event. But because Horsford was speaking, they said,
oh my gosh, you can't be here. You need to
take down your tent. It was crazy.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Yeah, But okay, because you were his opponent, not because
you were in a Republican because there was another Republican.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
That they didn't came out. They only kicked me out
because I was running against Horsford at a veterans center
where I'm a veteran. I'm a combat vet. I'm a
combat veteran, and they kicked me out.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Yes, and so Horseman is not a veteran. I understand.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
He's never been Okay, he's never had to write a paycheck,
he's never go into business, he's never done anything.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
So well, didn't he run the culinary Academy.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Yeah, he was appointed into that the training program there.
So he was appointed into that by Harry Reid. Imagine that. Sorry,
we're getting off topic. We really want your call. We
want to talk about this Schumer shutdown.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
I want to hear from you.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Well, how about even I mean, Argentina right now just
declared that they are finally away from socialism, and we,
as Americans in New York are trying to vote for it.
I just that is just insane. I'd love to hear
how everyone.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Well, here's I mean, here's a message that I to
President Trump out there, and I'm sure he's already gonna
do it, or he's thinking about it. But if my
Mononi takes over and he starts doing all the free stuff,
you know, using funds to pay for everything, then the
federal government should just shut down any funding that they
give New York because we as the American people, the
(17:09):
American taxpayers, should not be funding a communist state of
New York City.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
And even another point about him, apparently he lied on
his naturalization application and so that is grounds that they
should be pursuing as well. So I think it's insane.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Even how about how he can say with a straight face,
like as if we're supposed to be upset that his
aunt was ridiculed in the subway. I'm sorry, after nine eleven,
everybody would get pulled over to the side if you
had a book bag or anything and it was searching
through your stuff. I had friends with big old Golate's
coming from, you know, l train and how to deal
(17:53):
with the same stuff. And to make that that that
was the biggest deal. It's a slap in the face
and proof that he's just sheep.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Well, you know, I think the issue is that our
population is not being educated, They're not being taught civics.
They're not being taught history or government, and if they were,
they would not be so enamored with socialism.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
Yes, one hundred percent, you're right. I would love to
see a syllabus. I know a lot of people are
always about finding the money and where that. I want
to see the syllabus in public schools because I know
in the nineteen eighties when I was there, they're already
pushing these agendas. So, you know, people younger than myself,
they're already you know, having children and breathing and having
(18:37):
Now their children believe in this and that is now
what is New York. They're just in bred with all
of these liaes that sadly now they're voting for it.
They're voting for socialism.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Colors seven zero two two two one seven two a three.
We want to hear your comments, your thoughts, your opinions
on these topics. So, Melissa, you are currently an entrepreneur.
Can you first explain to our audience exactly what you
do and how you started your business? Briefly?
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Yeah, sure, I'll try going quick. So right after COVID
and everything, it's like, well, what do you do now?
And everything was being products and services kind of in home.
So that's what I started doing. I started building software
programs that would allow people to you know, bring products
inside the home. A lot too. I was watching legislation
what Biden was doing, and I thought, well, this is insane.
So I was creating kind of a world for US Americans.
(19:35):
So god forbid. You know, I don't want to get
a shot, and who cares if you know, you're just
going to come into my house and you know, mow
the lawn or whatever it may be. So it's a
platform that we can all just kind of work together
on our business self.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
And so day you're a small business owner.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Absolutely, yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
I owned.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
I owned two on a retail store, and then I
own my financial services. So you know, that's one of
the things that impacts me. And as a candidate, one
of the reasons I'm running. You know, I've got the
military background, so I understand national security, understand border security,
and as you know, I've been down to the border
several times, especially when it was open, and you know,
(20:13):
or my body armor and all that kind of stuff
down there because it's a little bit dangerous. And then
ye know, I worked on the oil fields of Alaska
for ten years. So I understand the oil industry and
the energy industry, and now I'm a small business owner.
So all those things right now are very important to
the economy and one of the main reason where I'm
(20:34):
running for Congress.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Well, small business owners are the or they used to
be the backbone of our American society.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Well they still aren't. But Biden tried to put us
all out of business. You know, you can't. Two things
happened simultaneously. Lend to buy and labor wages went up drastically,
almost doubled overnight. And then gas prices went up, so
logistics costs go up. So when logistics gots go up
like that, that cost me to put to put product
on the show, and then my labor costs I got
(21:01):
to recoup for that. So my choices as a business
owner or reduce my labor or increase my prices, and
there's not it's not much more difficult than that or complicated.
So what Biden did by by going to battle against
oil companies and then you know, creating what he did
with the labor force with the high ranges almost instantly
(21:22):
doubling like that, it was a big cause for the inflation,
everything went up. You can't even get to McDonald's happen
meal now for what less than ten bucks. It's it's
gotten crazy.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
So a lot of people don't understand why corporations increase
their their costs on products. They think they're just trying
to gouge the consumer. But it's a it's a never
ending cycle that they have to raise prices in order
to pay wages to their employees and also to buy
(21:53):
the products that they need to make their or their
services to sell.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
This is this is the democrat foul see of the
whole thing. You know, they want to demand fifteen dollars
an hour wages like it's not going to have an
impact on businesses and what you have. If I have
to pay my employees more, I have to raise my prices.
There's no other choice. There's no margin there for me
to I mean, it's already tight, you know. I think
the restaurant industry is like three or four percent, that's
all they really mad. And now that labor prices has
(22:20):
gone up. And what kills me now is you can't
even see a fifteen percent tip. It's all starting at
eighteen percent. So I'm not sure where that all started from?
And now taxes no tax on tips.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Yeah, but on your receipt after you pay your initial bill,
and they said these are our recommended tips.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Right, But I don't know where all that came from,
Like it's all so now there's no tax on tips.
So I'm like, well, you know, why are we doing
the eighteen twenty twenty two percent and not even been
given the fifteen percent option. I'm not sure where that
came from. But that's all happened within the last what
two years.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
And also the increase in the minimum wage like you said,
I mean minimum wage jobs were at one time when
I was younger, they were for people in high school, right, yeah,
and you know suppose you cannot raise a family on
those type of jobs.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
It's supposed to be and it's not supposed to be
a permanent job. And like for my my retail story, right,
I get high school kids coming in, they're living at
home with no expenses, and they're demanding seventeen bucks an
hour to start, and you know I can't absorb that
cost without raising my prices.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Well, a lot of fast food restaurants in California that
they had to go to automation because they could not
afford to pay the fifteen dollars an hour for a
person to be there, and so watching them they lost jobs.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Well, look at McDonald's. You can't even you can't even
get customer service there anymore. You walk in and it's
all a kiosk, and then and then if they put
it on a shelf and then they call your number out,
it's like so impersonal anymore. And that used to be
one of the nice things about McDonald's is the customer service,
and they've completely lost that.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Now.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Didn't Steven Horsefood vote against no tax on two?
Speaker 3 (24:02):
He sure did? You know, no tax on tips resonated
right here in Nevada, and he voted against no tax
on tips and no tax on overtax, and he voted
to keep men in girls' locker rooms. So, you know,
the worst thing I think that Horsford did, and you know,
I hope everybody out there's listener, is he was one
of the fifty eight congressmen that could not condemn the
(24:22):
Charlie Kirk assassination. There's four hundred and thirty five guys
up there in House representatives, and he was one of
the fifty eight So the Gang of fifty eight that
could not even condemn political violence or the assassination of
an individual like Charlie.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Kirk And what does that tell you about those individuals?
Speaker 3 (24:39):
And he was the only representative of Nevada to do that.
So that's where he's lining up. He's lining up with
Mamdanni and AOC and Bernie Sanders. He is not representing
Nevada anymore, and he's got to go.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
That's discussed.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
So Melissa getting back to you. So you have a
business called go with Melissa dot Com. Correct if they
can't explain that to our to tell our listeners a
little bit about your bills, sure, we'll want.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
To go with Melissa dot Com. It's like an online mall,
so you can find all different types of products and
services for your business lifestyle and your family lifestyles.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
If you could fight.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Yeah, so I think.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
We got a call her. Oh we have like no, no, okay,
so go ahead continue.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Well, yes, it's a lot of fun I run events,
I have a lot of restaurant deals on there. There's
a lot of Amazon things, and then for business owners,
it's a whole shopping cart of really fun services for them.
But also if you're just a mom, a single mom. Whoever,
you're able to find all different types of stuff there
too for the kids, So it's it's a lot of fun.
(25:45):
If you're just kind of bored at home, want to
go online and shop, we have it and there's a
lot of learning experiences and classes on there too for free.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
So also, why don't you tell your tell our listeners
who want to start a business a little bit of
how they can get started, because you are a business
consultants as well.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Yeah. So by the time I was nineteen, I was
already running two bars, a cafe, a tattoo shop, and
doing catering on the site on the weekends as a
bridal attendant. So doing inventory systems to all different types
of fun stuff, I was able to kind of get
into different industry. So now I just kind of geek
out on different types of businesses.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Oh we have a good collar.
Speaker 6 (26:28):
Hello caller, Good afternoon, everyone off, good evening. How you
doing today? Is that Terry Brown? Are y'all doing?
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Ye?
Speaker 6 (26:38):
Terry?
Speaker 1 (26:38):
How are you?
Speaker 6 (26:40):
I am doing wonderful, wonderful to hear the wonderful voice
is here. And Melissa, you're doing a great job. Having
a small business and we want to see that grow.
My most support you one hundred percent of whatever we do.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Oh, thank you, thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
So did you Ontario? Do you have a question?
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Yeah, you know I have a question of response. The
biggest thing is the response to why the cost of
pricing and cost of goods and salaries are so high.
The main reason that is during COVID, every business owner
had to sell their land, casinos, product manufacturers, and now
(27:21):
you see the costs having to be passed on to
who the consumer because they got to pay those leases
on that land they sold. And that's why you got
five to ten dollars waters twenty dollars water. Then they
want to tip. You're not gonna get that. These meals
costing two hundred dollars one hundred fifty dollars worth, steak
that used to be costing fifty bucks, You're not gonna
(27:42):
get that. Look at the strip. Bottom line is that
when they shut down this state, the Democrats hurt us
more for the next ten to twenty years based on
the fact one bottom line is the cost of had
to sell their land. Look go back and look at
MGM Sony land to a lease of company and now
(28:04):
back to them. So the question is what I would say,
is what can we do to revert back to the
things that happened prior to COVID.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
That's a good one. You know, it's gonna take time.
Just like you said, Uh, they've done so much damage
uh with their policies and positions, especially after COVID that
all it's gonna take time, mantaro.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
And it's a shame. It's a shame because it's all
things that could have been prevented.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
And all those things like what you're saying, between labor
costs going up, energy costs going up, uh, you know,
buying back leases, all these kinds of things all happened
all at once, instantly, and it just causes inflation. So
we're starting to get inflation under control. I think.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Trump's tariffs has caused the deficit to go down and
like the first time ever. So that you know, those
kinds of things are happening, we have to give it time.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
But here in Vegas, you know, between tips and between
parking fees and all these things, it's it's really impacting
Vegas uh a lot.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
Soll the small taxes, I mean, this city has been reaping.
I believe any any business owner for way too long.
I mean, you know, even if I go in for
one minute, I have to apply for you know, this license,
that license. If I'm an uber driver, I need a
license if I need and everything has just gotten overwhelming
because you know, the mayor, she needs her cut and
(29:28):
it needs to stop, because that's half of the issue.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Well, Dave, we have a question from X and they
want to know, how would you fix this problem?
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Well, at the state level, you know, some of those
are state issues, but federally, we have to get the
economy back on track. So you know, you have you
have two things supposing each other that you know, we
have a state that is run by the Democrats right now,
We've got a city that's run by the Democrats. Uh,
we have to turn that around. If we get that
turned around, and then we can support tru President's Trump
agenda with the economy and everything, it'll make a huge difference.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Right.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
So for me up in the federal side, we have
to get the economy rolling. We have to look at
these you know, support the tariffs, support the Trump's agenda.
To get the economy back, we have to get oil
prices down. If you notice the oil prices are starting to
come down now because guess what, Trump's been in office
for about eight months now, and oil is bought on futures,
and so the gas that you're putting in your car
(30:23):
right now is bought about eight months ago. So anything
before at was under Biden, which we're finally now getting.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Rid of that. However, our prices are not as low
as others stakes.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Well, the Democrats kind of did that up in our legislature.
Democrats added some more tax to our gas. I don't
think they wanted us to see a big drop in
the energy price here in Nevada because that might make
the Republicans look good. So, but that was another Democrat
play up there in our state legislature that they increased
the gas tax.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
We also look at a lot of our gas from California. Yeah,
and the problems with California. Of course, they have a
lot of regulations on that. The gas is expensive and
now they're shutting down some of the refineries in California.
So the gas is going to go sky high and
ours will too.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
So now you're talking about you're talking about language about energy, right,
So to building a new refinery is about a fifteen
year payback on an oil company, right, so they need
they need that much time to get their returns back.
But with the EPA regulations and the overregulation of the government,
it's almost impossible to do a refinery now. So the
ones that are being shut down are being shut down
(31:29):
because they can't comply the one little leak, one little
drop of oil on the ground, you know, they get
fined fine to death, and that's what's happening, and so
it just doesn't make sense.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
I went away in real quick with Ontario's question as
a professional economist, and actually my PhDs in economics and
I taught up for like thirty years with the Strip
by twenty six dollars bottles of water from your mini bar.
It's not going to change. The Strip is kind of
almost dead. If you will, your best better is to
(32:00):
go to the off strip casinos. There's still some really
good fiosi and have a great time there because they
did not get sold to the hedge hedge fund companies,
and so they're still able to give a good value
to locals and to you know, tourist that come in and.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
You're listening to talk of conservative and Thank you Ontario
for your question. You're tuned into talk with a conservative
(32:41):
where reasons still rules and free speech still matters.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Stay with us more truth, We're insight, and more straight
talk coming up next.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
The next Conservative town hall of North Las Vegas will
be held on Thursday, November sixth five. Dave Marlin, candidate
for Las Vegas City Council War two, would be our speaker,
along with a panel of female vets in honor of
Veterans Day. So please RSVP to reserve a spot and
(33:13):
bring a friend with you.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
I'll call. The number is seven two two seven two
eighty three, and I told you this before put it
in your speed dial. We want to hear from you.
It's your chance to express yourself and tell us what
you think, because we do care what you think.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
So, Melissa, you describe yourself as a Catholic American small
business woman. Have you always desired to run your own business?
And if so, how did that desire materialize?
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Well, yes, say find myself very Catholic, Catholic American, and
as a business owner. I guess, as I were saying earlier,
it was more of a as a child. I just
started taking on really easily. To businesses and need to
understand how things operated, and so through my faith and
why I just I love people, I love helping, So
(34:07):
it kind of all correlates together, I think and created
what I do today.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
So it was interesting to me that you express an
opinion about your faith, because so many people today shy
away from doing that. They don't want to stand on
their faith, which should be something that encompasses them on
a daily basis.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
Yeah, same man, I completely as an American right, it's
our freedom of right to say who we are and
what we are and believe in. And this was a
country started by Christian values, and so I'm so proud
to be able to say that I'm a Catholic woman
showing my faith, believing in the Ten Commandments and you know,
(34:52):
Jesus and everything. And from that it gets me to
see what I can do to help others.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
We should never be fra to express that either. It's
so important, right. I love what President Trump did also
with allowing the churches to be able to, you know,
get behind candidates now and stuff like that, because there
was never the intent of the separation of church and
states from the Constitution.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Oh no, not at all. That's the other side trying that,
and that's actually when I did run.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
But they want you to believe that, they want you
to and they're teaching that schools. They're trying to get,
you know, Christianity and religion out of the schools because
that's how it's all part of their playbook.
Speaker 6 (35:29):
Right.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
If you're hopeless, then guess what You're going to have
to be manipulated to believe into something. And that's what
it is. If you actually have something of worth and understanding,
you're not going to be manipulated into what they're trying
to teach you in their agenda.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Well, you know what you parents can encounter that by
sending their self taking their selves and their children to
either the Biblical citizenship classes or a Constitution Alive. And
we know several people that offer those classes, and so
that's one way that we can counter.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
If you got listeners out there, I would go to
Patriot Academy dot com look at those classes, not just
for your kids, but for yourself, and you'll learn what
the Constitution really says about the separation of church and state.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Yes, indeed, and so also on your LinkedIn page, you
said everything you learned and will ever need to know
is in the book called the Bible. I found that
to be so fresh.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
It really is, because I mean, right, I think there's
also a book like that. Everything I learned is in kindergarten.
But it's simplicity of life. I think we've lost it
through these ages of materialism and what we think we're
supposed to be and you know, bills and everything else
that we forgot we're human.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
Well, the Bible spells out the acronym of basic instructions
before leaving the earth. So it's very.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
True, very true. The more you read into it, the
more you see, oh my gosh, this is real. And
what I love about the times we're now in revelation,
it's like every things for everything that was in Revelation,
it's fruitioning right now verbatim. And so you know, if
you're an atheist out there and you don't want to
read the Bible, okay, or that's fine, But how is
(37:11):
it so that this book that was created all these
years ago, it's all coming true faster and faster, Like
he said, the birthing pains right and so all around
the world. And you can't you can't go against that
it's really happening, and so I like to point that
out to people. And we live in cities, so the
more of a city world we're in, I think, the
(37:32):
more you know, the matrix we are and you don't
realize God He's getting further and further away. So it's
taking kids from city life and putting them into country
lifestyles and they can see God. I think that's always
something nice too.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
So, Dave, do you have any final thoughts of comments?
Do you want to lead some information about how people
can contact you?
Speaker 3 (37:54):
Yeah, you know, I want to follow up real quick
on the you know, not being afraid to be a
Christian or or speak your religion right as you know.
You know, we've been to the Shepherd's Breakfast together, uh
and I sit in there and I listened to the
pastors and they're talking about getting men back in the households,
and they're talking about getting off of the welfare uh,
in the government control. And I sit there and I go, Wow,
(38:15):
these guys talk like Republicans, but unfortunately they're Democrats. And
but it's just an interesting dynamic, and you know, I
hope we see some some people waking up at this
next midterm election. But to get old of me, go
