Talus Magic Talk Show brought you back, Talus Master Cheesesy fool in Keene Dragon
Talusum put it out. Hi,everyone, welcome back to the show.

(00:21):
This is your cheesy fool right here, and today it's another Talism and Talas
Magic talk show. Continuing from myprevious episode, we talked about the origin
of Taoism and explaining about like howtalism was in the old days and the
reclated version of Talism today. Sotoday we want to talk about the regulated

(00:45):
version of Talism in China today andis it a good or bad things?
And you know the pros and consabout it and what you should know about
it. So first of all,I myself teach talism and Talis magic.
I have been through the regulated versionbefore, and I have been through a
lot of like experience, learning, cultivating and all that in those traditional sects.

(01:11):
But today I am teaching and passingon the talism and Talis magic from
a sect of my own. SoI am not related to the regulated Talism
in China today, and I likethat idea a lot. So why well,
let's dig into it. First ofall, China have started to take

(01:34):
over religion and regulate them. Youmight not know. But in the old
days it was like that too, just not that modernize. So how does
it work? Well, you see, there are many, many, many
sects of talism in China. Alot of them. You might not even

(01:56):
find them, like on Google andbooks, like they're not even documented.
Why because they don't have money, right, they're in the village passing on
the stuff generations to generations, andthey might be very old too. But
the thing is like they don't havemoney, and they don't have access to
like internet, and they don't havethey like they don't even have the desire

(02:21):
to spread it out to world widemarket. They don't care, you know,
I just need to pass it ontomy grandchildren or people who believe,
you know, people in the samevillage. That's it. Their world is
so small and they don't even careabout spreading out, So you won't know
about those. Like there's a lotof sect for example, right now,

(02:42):
I name a one, Like there'slike this yum sanpie. Right you won't
even heard about it. But Icome to know about this sect when I
was learning some food from that sect, and I was like, wow,
they're like a new sect right there. Oh okay, so yeah, there's
like a lot of different sects, more sex bi sect but you don't know
about them. So in China, right, the government is like, that's

(03:06):
not good. Okay, we needto recolate everything or else it's going to
get over the place. And what'snot so good is that there are actually
evil people who comes up with likea religion or accout or a sect and
they will like use the name ofa religion but scam people and well,
scamming people for sex and self. It's like really bad and the government have

(03:29):
to find a way to deal withit, right, so they have to
recolate it. Well, in thatperspective, I would say it is really
good because I hate it when peopleuse the name of religion to scam people
for sex and things like that, and it's really really annoying. Like even
if the religion is good and somethinglike that happened, it ruins the image

(03:49):
of the whole thing. So Chinadid what they have to do to recolate
the religion. I am not disagreeingwith that. That is a good thing
to do. You need to dothat at the government. Right. If
I'm the government, I will dothat too. So what happened is they
started with a good intention, right, and then you know when it carried

(04:12):
out, it's not always perfect. So they say, we're we're going to
group everything, and there's like onlytwo different um. Category one is like
anything any sect that are more focusedon magic like foo and spells and you
know those things, right, youare good at magic, Then we grouped

(04:36):
you into the cheng Yat pie chengYat zangi chung chung yi. Okay.
Uh, so you you are likegood at magic, then that's what you're
doing. Um. If you arelike good at chanting, uh, the
theory, you know that kind ofstuff, then we grouped you into the

(04:56):
other one. So you have liketwo sects to choose from. So whatever
your little uh sect or version orlineage or whatever you want to call that
is, you pick one and thenwe group yours into one of the category.
And now you be you're like belowthis lineage. It's like you know,

(05:17):
like you have let's say like techcompanies. Okay, so we're like
you only have Microsoft and Apple anythingelse you can like like look at your
company, what you promote and yourvibe, and then we've grouped you under
neither Microsoft or Apple. So there'snothing allowed except for these two. Oh

(05:41):
you're a Samsung, so you knowwhat, what are your specialties? Are
you like, you know, thebusiness and boring type or are you like
the creative type or creative type?Okay, we grouped you back into Apple.
Um you're like um Google. Okay, you're like boring and business.
Okay, you're under Microsoft. NowGoogle is called Microsoft Google. You see

(06:06):
what I mean. That's what's happeningin China with talism. So it's kind
of unfair for those smaller sects. And if you don't want to be like
that, well you're categorized as acult, like not registered, right,
so the leader is going to banyou. You're not going to survive,

(06:28):
like unless you just like teach itinside your own family. But otherwise,
if you don't keep quiet, youget loud, you get banned, and
people will kill you. Yeah.So that's how it is in China.
Okay, it gets kind of extreme, but that kind of kills the natural
property of those talism sects because beforethis regulating things happen, there are like

(06:49):
a lot of sects of talism andthey all falls into the same category,
but they're not related to one source. They don't have their version of belief
like this lineage will believe only these, and this believe like only these,
and they are not related. Theydon't they don't share the same god,
you know. So yeah, okay, so and then the other way to

(07:14):
um group tells them together is thatthey force you to pray to the same
god. So it's like we cannottolerate everyone worshiping their own uh sets of
God. So the government have tolike force them to change, right,
So these sects have to make changes, and as they evolve through history a

(07:38):
nice word too for that, sothey are like forced to change. So
they will have to like worship forexample, the typical one, the sam
Ching, and they have to likeworship this and that, and it's like
you have to do it, evenyour lineage don't worship those stuff. It's
funny, right, And these days, like in the modern Asia, it's

(08:01):
like that too because of China's politics, like they start to like categorize stuff.
So there's a lot of like sectand niniche that are not related to
the China talism. For example, there's like this uh moosan sect and there's
a sect and those sects, right, they practice magic and stuff that is

(08:22):
like Talis magic, but they don'treally call themselves a Taoist before. But
now if they don't call themselves aTalis or born, like go back to
China and born with those sects andfall under those big ones, you'll be
categorized as a code. So whatdo people do. People are forced to

(08:43):
go back to China to get certified. So they have to go through a
quick course, pay some money andthey get like a certificate and like a
passport to say that they are aTaoist of those sects in China. Two
quote quote two like you are likeyou are this Forcampbo, You're like Maosan

(09:05):
in Hong Kong, but you arenow like on top of that, you're
also a disciple a Taoist of thissect in China. So with that in
your profile, you will not becaught by the police and say you're running
account because you are still a Taoist, right, So you see how that
works. So people are forced todo that throughout these years because if you

(09:28):
don't do that, people look atyou and will say, hey, you
must be a scammer, right, the government's not going to protect you from
these things, And well guess whata lot of people actually went back to
China to get certificate and scam people. That's what happened. Okay. It
was like even on the news thata lot of those certified talents they only

(09:50):
went through like a quick summer courtthing, you know, go there for
like a month for three weeks, and then come back with like all the
ropes and looking good, right, look good. But the thing is you
don't even learn much. And thenthey come back and start scamming people.
They went on the news sex scandaland all that, right, that happened
a lot, and that's bad.Well yeah, originally you know what they

(10:13):
don't want to happen happened. Whatcan you do? Well, I'm not
the government. I can't tell themwhat they do. But I'll just have
to tell you that fact. Okay, So all these like certified towels doesn't
mean anything right now, because it'slike, yeah, you get certified,
but what did that mean, likeyou only it only means that you went

(10:35):
back to China, pay the moneyand went through a very short course.
No one actually give a damn aboutyou, Like they don't even teach you
things. You watch the video yourselfand learn whatever and do your own version
of things at home, but Idon't care. You know, you come
and pay me money, that's whatyou get. So that's why me,

(10:58):
like personally living in Toronto, Idon't care about that stuff. You know,
I don't really like that idea.I hate it myself right now,
but you know, after a fewyears. Right now, at this moment,
I saw on TikTok's they're good ones, like they're good masters in China
promoting Taoism and spreading out some goodvibes. So there's like this old talist

(11:26):
like he looked old, okay.He was like in the temple. It
seems like he was like a masterin the temple and he was doing this
TikTok to promote the Taoism etiquettes. So there was like this believer coute quote
believer okay, maybe an actor. So he was like praying to the god
and he put his palm together likea Buddhist and start praying. And then

(11:48):
the master is like, hey,you know what you should not do that.
That's very very disrespectful. These arelike foreigners etiquette. You have to
learn how to pray to Chinese god. That's how we do in Toism.
And he teach him how to doit. I think, like this kind
of thing is really important, okay, Like to me, Buddhism is never

(12:11):
a Chinese thing. Buddhism comes fromIndia, right, So if you're like
a Chinese, you don't even knowyour own countries etiquettes and you start using
India's version of stuff to pray toyour Chinese God. I mean, like
you can choose to stay home andnot go to the temples, but if
you actually went to a Chinese religiontemple, you need to know how to

(12:33):
pray to those things, right. So well, it's like so insulting to
see the Chinese going to a Taloismtemple but using Buddhist etiquettes. Okay,
So I really like this kind ofthing when they promote and educate the topic,
because a lot of Chinese really don'tknow, like they are not educated

(12:56):
and they have no idea like what'sthe difference between Talism and Buddhist Because throughout
the history Buddhism was like so mushedinto the culture because the rulers were using
it a lot to control the people, so they don't really know, like
what is the difference. And inthe movies, the stories and fictions and

(13:16):
all that, Like it's all mixedtogether and mushed together, so you don't
really know what the clear difference betweenthe two religion. A lot of people
don't know. And I like ithow they actually bring it out again and
teach people about it so that theycan differentiate these things and so like tell
us them kind of like revived, you know. And the movies as well,

(13:39):
like recently the TV shows and thedrama from China is nice, like
they have a lot of what wecall seen the hubcap. It's like they
shows like immortals and gods and demonsand all that fighting. Right, they
don't blend in Buddhism element anymore likein the sixties and seventies, in the

(14:00):
sixteen seventies or even the eighties, they were like all into Buddhism. So
they praise like Buddhism and their martialarts and stuff a lot in the movies.
So Talis were kind of like putdown. Like usually when they talk
about Talism sect, it's always like, oh, there's a pervert, there's
some bad guys, you know,it's like they are so bad. But

(14:22):
now it's not like that. Theygive Talism a whole new, clean and
positive image in the media. Andthey make the tallest look very cool with
their tallest magic with a special effecton all that. Right, So that
is actually nice for the next generation, because the next generation will not like

(14:43):
like they grow up with these theseentertainment, right, they will be leaeved.
Like, oh, in the future, I want to become a talist
too, because that looks so cool, Like, at least you plant a
nicer image, and not like Iwant to become a Buddhist. Why,
oh, because the Buddhist knows alot of kum food. Well, what
do you know about There's nothing. You only know about it in the movie,

(15:03):
right, that's what happened in thepast. Like a lot of people
like Buddhism because they saw it inthe movie, not because they know of
the religion. So nowadays the China, the government and all those tempos are
actually doing a good job promoting talismagain. And I have to give them
a thumbsum for that, because Ipersonally, like myself, cannot do everything
right, so I cannot educate thatmany people with my videos and podcasts.

(15:28):
But if they can do it,well, that's a nice thing. I
mean, at least you see morelike real pure Talism vibes of going around
the internet and not just like peopledoing Buddhism and then believe that they're in
that like they're a talist right inthe Western talism world, like you know,
if you go to the English forumsand search like Taoism, they are

(15:52):
still in the like what we calllike they blend Talism and Buddhism together and
they and I even differentiate the twomuch. Is like that all the time,
And that's why the version of Talismin the West is so messed up
because they are still stuck in thatstate of like they don't know how to

(16:14):
like differentiate the two because what theyhad it's like what the Chinese got in
the past, like in the sixties, seventies cents, that that kind of
time, you know, when peopleare still very stuck in Buddhism. Yeah,
they're still kind of stuck there, right. So I hope that I
can bring some clarities to the Englishspeaking side, because right now China is

(16:37):
promoting a lot, but they're stilllike all Chinese speaking, they're doing tiktoks,
but they're tiktoks' folly in Chinese. So no one in the English society
will actually go watch it, andeven you go watch it, you don't
even understand, right, So Iam okay in English, like I can
talk in English. So you see, if I am here, I think

(17:00):
that that is my job, youknow, to to do this purifying to
the talism world, the talism sideuh in the West, right, So
yeah, I'm here to clarify thingsfor you guys. But at the same
time, I will also have tosay, like there are things that the

(17:22):
China Taloism are still like trying topromote, which isn't really correct or right,
but they have their reasons because theyhave to fit the international market.
It's like the way how you speakum with a like a diplomatic tone,
so you have to um, howdo I say? It's like you don't

(17:45):
want to get any troubles, soyou have to avoid saying something, and
you have to like kind of changethe way you explain things, and you
have to like not hurt the otherreligion things like that, right, and
you also need to like tell walkingaway that doesn't seem like you're biased,
and things like that. So theyhave their worries and that's why they're promoting

(18:07):
things like that. They promote alot to like outsiders and newbies and things
like that, so they have tolike they have to tick into consideration.
What they are spreading out must belike not too extremely different from what people
used to know, so that theycan actually accept at first. And in

(18:27):
reality, if you actually learn froma real master, it's not like that,
Like they have a version for theoutsiders, and they have things that
they teach to insiders where like thisdisciple is actually locally living and staying with
the Master or can see the Masterall the time. They are the one
who get to learn the real things, and they will tell you things like

(18:49):
while you're like eating with the Master, they tell you things that they're like,
okay, this is the truth, but you don't say this to outsiders.
There's like this kind of culture inChinese, right, I teach you
the real thing, but you're notgoing to tell this to everyone outside because
the outsiders are supposed to note theoutsider's version. This is our insider version,

(19:11):
and this is actually how it worksinside. Thus them, they will
tell you this after you have earnedthe trust from the Master. So if
you're like one of those like goingaround the internet trying to like the research
and look at books and all that. You're not going to touch this.
You're not going to even touch onepercent of the truth inside any sect because
China and Chinese culture is like that. Even in martial arts, they have

(19:36):
a version that they teach to thepublic, and they have a version or
stuff that they won't teach the public. Every martial arts sectors like that.
They call that the insider secrets, and that's what you don't get. But
now me here spreading thus them tothe West, right, I am leaking
more things than most of those sitthere. So if you like listen to

(20:03):
my podcast and think like that, you will find that, hey, how
come this guy's staying something is likenot so the same as the China's version.
Well yeah, because I'm telling youmore insider things that you will know.
And I'm doing that because I wantto expose it so that everyone can
have a chance to actually touch itand see the real side of talism anyway,

(20:26):
So stay tuned for my future episodeand we'll see you in the next
one. Bye bye. He
