Il movimento di pensiero che va sotto il nome di "Fenomenologia" è strettamente collegato al nome del suo iniziatore: Edmund Husserl. Essa ha avuto, nel corso del '900, ripercussioni importanti in molti ambiti del sapere tra i quali la Teologia con personaggi del calibro di Martin Heidegger e Romano Guardini. La Fenomenologia nasce tra il 1900 e il 1901 con l'opera in due volumi "Ricerche logiche". Essa si diffonde prima in Germania, e poi negli anni '20 in Francia. Dopo la pausa dell'esistenzialismo, la Fenomenologia viene ripresa negli anni '50 quando vengono stampate delle opere inedite di Husserl.
