(00:09):
Hi, welcome to that bitch isalways like Sunday Scary's Edition. Okay starring
starring Oh Jessica blum Nick. Ohno, she's not here. Oh well
(00:30):
then why did you say story? That's when you don't really say your name
and then I say my name. But I thought we already did that.
No, Oh shit, Hi,I'm never retalic. Claude were retalic.
And we're missing our sister, Jessicaro I'm like, yikes. To be
fair, we are recording back toback, so this it's not guaranteed to
(00:54):
be smooth. I feel good aboutit. We're not looking up anything,
We're not having to read other people'swriting. We're going to be speaking straight
from our heart, from the soul, from our experiences preach. And I
think we should start out with neverbecause this bitch be haunted. Yeah,
(01:15):
should we start off by saying that, Like, you know, we get
non believers in spooky stuff like,ye, honest, I'm not I'm still
not one hundred percent sold. You'renot. No, that's a joke,
right, No, as if youhaven't been haunted too, I just don't
see them very much. We canget into it. Oh, it's like
(01:37):
ninety five percent a believer. Idon't know. Oh that's really high.
See Seth doesn't believe it at all, so it's really funny when we like
talk about it. Although, somethingspooky happened the other day, so maybe
I'll mention that, um. Butso anyways, I do believe that I
have seen plenty of spooky ghosts, spirits and weirdness and stuff that just can't
(02:01):
be explained, like ever since Iwas a kid. I'm not gonna lie
though. That lovely green lettuce doeshelp kind of, I feel like,
but for it, I don't feellike I am like seeing him as much
like if I but if I'm notsmoking, then I feel like I'm more
(02:23):
aware of spooky stuff. So Idon't know what that deal is or if
that's I don't know, but likegrowing up, it was like I think
of, like the first spooky thingI can remember was we had bunk beds
and I was on the bottom bunkand was I have the distinct memory of
(02:46):
like looking up above me and therewas some creepy ass face just like staring
at me, and it freaked meout so bad that I would just skid
her up into Chloe's bunk, thetop bunk and just be like there was
something there I need to I needto sleep with you. She would be
(03:08):
like, the old man won't stopstaring at me. And I'd be like,
what the fuck does that mean?Exactly what I do? Say that
the old man won't stop staring atme. And so I told Dad that,
and he got me this huge asscrystal. It was like chunky af
(03:30):
I don't remember which one it was, but he told me to put it
under my pillow. It was rosequarts, I think, so protection and
it literally it helped so much.I didn't see the spooky old man face
anymore. So that helped a lot. But then we moved to um,
like this two story house in Portlandfrom California, and that was like where
(03:57):
I saw a lot of spooky stufffor summer reason. UM. Like,
one thing I remember is my bed, mean cloye shirted bedroom, and my
bed was in front of the doorway. It lined up with that doorway,
and um, in front of ourbedroom was the stairs to go up to
(04:17):
this, you know, to themain floor. Our bed was downstairs and
I would, you know, bereading my book and if when I was
looking down and just you know, the peripheral vision over my book. I
would see this like woman or girllike sitting on the stairs, long hair,
(04:40):
and she would just be peering atme, you know, and then
I would like freak out or youknow, I feel like with reasonably reasonably
like yeah, and makes a lotof sense. So I freaked out our
down a lot because I would runto his office and be like the girl
on the stairs, she's looking atme, she's looking at me, she
(05:02):
won't stop. And that our parentsdid not like they were like, yeah,
I would return you if you didthat. I don't think you can
return me. When I was likenine, returning you somewhere and that literally
though, was like pretty traumatizing, honestly. Yeah, it was like super
(05:24):
super spooky. I didn't like Karenabout it. Yeah, Chloe, Chloe
is you know, kind of fussyif I told her about what I was
saying, Yeah, because that's notwarranted when you're like the girl on the
stairs won't stop staring at me fromour crowd chaing position. It's and yeah,
(05:46):
you and dad actively trying to scareme whenever you both could. Our
dad literally would hide around the housein a silicon Devil's mask waiting for one
of us to walk by, andtrue, true facts facts, and he
can't say otherwise he can't. Yeah. Also, I mean you did scare
(06:08):
me really bad as a child, and the yeah when you use in the
shower, because that stupid movie hadjust come out, The mirror one where
people's reflections were killing them. Itwas that bloody Mary. No, No,
it was like some I think itwas. I can't remember what it
was called, but I remember watchingthe trailer and she ripped open her jaw
(06:30):
or something terrifying, and I waslike, and then okay. And then
what I also want to give somebackground is then our school, we went
to Hampy School had campouts every yearwhere we got to go camping. But
the campgrounds that we went to oftenhad like nice toilets and a sink so
we could go, like, youknow, use the bathroom. But on
(06:53):
this trip that year, I hadgotten locked in the bathroom because one of
my friends tried to open the lockfrom the outside. Yeah, and the
lights were flickering and there was justa creepy as mirror and I was hyperventilating,
screaming, like because I was likeconvinced my fucking reflection was gonna kill
(07:15):
me. And then like I gethome and it's a couple of weeks later,
and Chloe is standing in the showerwaiting apparently, and I'm brushing my
teeth and then she like curls herhand around the shower curtain. I just
see her in the reflection and shejust makes some terrifying noise and I screamed,
bloody, bloody murder, bloody, bloody, blood bloody murder. Yeah.
(07:40):
But then you hit under my bedwhen I was coming to bed,
and right as I was trying tostep into bed, you grabbed my ankles.
Well, to be fair, Chloehad a fear of standing by her
by her bed. She thought someme would drag her in, So I
was like, I will be that. Yeah, So to be fair,
I knew exactly what scared her,and I took advantage of that. But
(08:01):
what was funny is that Chloe's akicker, so ow she was like kicking
and screaming, and then I'm screaminglike it's just me time it. And
then there was another time where wehad comforters on our beds and it was
folded over and I hid under hercomforter and I was like, oh,
I'm gonna scare her. But thenour cat jumped on the bed eddie and
(08:24):
she was like she needs like nobody'snobody's been a business. She had an
insane bakery, you know, biscuitsevery day, and she was going to
down on my face so I couldn'thear you come in. And so then
when she came in, she justlike slammed her foot in and then I'm
like yelling, and then she freakedown. Just stay away from my bed,
(08:50):
you know. Yeah. I meanto be fair to dude after that,
because I got kicked pretty good, you know, and then I had
to jump into my own bed.For months after that, I couldn't just
walk up next to my bed andget in anymore. I didn't jump in
physically. It's not funny, butit is. We weren't awful. We
were awful little sisters to each other, really not nice. We really weren't
(09:13):
because we weren't like we were. Our parents were just like, well,
you guys, we shared a room, yeah, but we had our own
room for three months. That wasYeah, that was a really short amount
of time. I didn't realize itwas that short amount of time. Yus
three months and now. Yeah, other than that, from the time we
(09:35):
both existed on the planet too. When I left for college. Yeah,
we're s a room it was,I mean, but as soon as she
left for college, I missed herand then we became besties. So that's
all it took. That's all shockerok, was just not having us in the
same room. And then we werelike, wait, now I missed you
twenty four seven. Oh what asecond. Now, never wishes I lived
(09:58):
in the same room. It's true. I love her. I love her.
Do you want to tell any spookystuff? Yeah, of course I
like stories. Well, I solike supernaturally spooky. There's only really two
that popped to mind. And oneis when you and I were just sitting
(10:22):
on your bed in our parents' house. Oh yeah, and we were just
sitting on her bed chatting and welook over at the attic door because we
hear like a slight rattle. Andto be fair, this attic door just
like slams open all the time becausethere's a massive draft in there. They
have a latch on it. Yeah, there's a latch now, so it's
not as big of a problem. But there wasn't a latch for like years,
(10:43):
So for years it would just slamopen all the time, which we
knew was the wind. Yeah.Yeah, a little spooky, but we
knew it was the wind. Itwas a tiny attic door. Yeah,
it's like half size of the attaldoor in my side of the bedroom.
Very spooky. But we were sittingthere and then we hear this kind of
slight rattle from the door, andwe both look over and we both just
(11:05):
see the door knobs slowly rotate.Yeah, and then the door just pulling
like one or two inches, justa little and just stay one or two
inches and never it was like shelevitated and just was gone. No.
I said, oh hell no whenI slammed the door shut, and then
I ran, oh okay, yeah, I laugh, yeah, because I
(11:28):
just remember you process that so muchotter than I did. Like I just
remember being like, wait, don'tleave me, it's trenching down. After
but by the time she had gotup said fuck that slammed the door and
sort of running. That's what mybrain process. It was like I should
get out of here, like yeahas fat as Yeah, I've been haunted
(11:52):
too long, I know, oneto get out. It was really spooky,
so that one really got me.And then the other thing that really
spooked me is like, as inmy current apartment, and it was the
first day I moved into it,and I was laying on the couch watching
some murder TV show with my catand dog, and then I hear over
(12:13):
my shoulder, just like a soundover my shoulder, just on my couch.
Oh oh oh i ha, Ohmy god, I the way I
would never relax again. And Godand my hereditary like the yeah. But
it was like a little yeah, literally like little rattling breath kind of sound.
(12:39):
Oh my god, God is fullof books and raise tears. I
of course was like, oh,that's fucking terrifying. I was like,
maybe I just made it up inmy head. And I look at my
animals and both of them are lookingover my shoulder where the sound just was,
and I was like, well,so fucked up. Eaginate crouching right
(13:01):
there, oh, like right nextto you. Yeah. That. I
was like, I'm just gonna pretendit never happened and not giving any of
my energy and it'll be fine. And that's been the only experience I've had.
I just thought of another one thatwas at our parents' houses. Well,
our parents' house is the one thatwe grew up in as well,
(13:22):
for like, I think a goodportion, you know, consider it our
childhood home. But it was ourparents when I was in my senior year
of high school. Clothe was incollege at that point, and our parents
were really busy doing like backpacking orother stuff and just kind of like starting
(13:43):
to go out and do stuff, and so sometimes I would be alone on
the weekend, and I really didn'tmind having the alone time, except there
was this one one time where inour our house was there's the main floor
when you come in, and thenour rooms were on the top floor,
(14:05):
and that was like a whole ourwhole floor, which was kind of cool.
And then the basement is obviously belowthe main floor, so it's a
three story. I was sleeping inmy bed and it was like so scary
because this is daytime where it waslike I woke up and there was like
a thrum in the house, likelike something like everything like was vibrating,
(14:26):
and I was like, what theHell's going on? So I stand up
and I feel like the pulse andI'm like, what the hell. So
then I'm slowly like I grabbed myphone I'm like slowly walking down to the
main floor, and I realized thatit's like almost this loud, like staticky
(14:46):
sound, and so then I keepgoing down and I'm standing at the top
of our basement stairs, which,as you know, are kind of scary.
They're like they're like wooden and creaky, and they have like open slatting.
It's like unfinished walling. So itlike like, yeah, somebody could
grab your ankle exactly. Yes,that's that vibe. Yeah, it's very
(15:09):
creepy. Yeah, And so Ibut I realize then that it's it's coming
from the basement, and I'm like, fuck, I should go into the
basement. And for some reason, the basement always has scared me at our
place, like we have a wehave a finished entertainment room, you know
where that's where we watch TV andeverything. But even still, I get
(15:33):
scared in that room when I'm alone, and I've spent a lot of alone
time in that room. There's justsomething that makes my tummy turn for some
reason, in that room. Thatwhole I mean, the whole basement is
kind of spooky because there's a wholeportion of it that was like a dug
out by our mom. And auntby our mom and aunt, and it's
just yeah, the whole kids, crazy, whole basement has kind of like
(15:54):
spooky vibe, spookyky. So Ikeep I you know, I'm like,
okay, never each have to godown the stairs, go down the basement
stairs. And so and then Irealized it's coming from the entertainment room.
And I go inside and our dadhas you know installed and built into the
walls rounds down the speakers. Soand I realized that the TV, the
(16:14):
TV's out, but the speakers areon and the volume as at one,
yeah, like as loud as thespeak the stereo can go. And it's
cranking like static just static noise that'sjust like straight up parames. So yes,
Chloe, like this is why I'ma believer. And so then I
I like go because it's so loudas soon as I open the door,
(16:37):
So I run over to the stereo. I crank the volume all the way
down so like way loud, likeway lower, and then I turn off
the stereo like click it. Youknow, all stereos have that satisfying click
noise. And then I'm holding thestereo remote like sitting on the couch looking
at it. Wondering if because ourdad is a prankster. So I was
like, oh, I wonder becauselike if I go to the front door,
(17:00):
you know, he'll yell through thering camera and scary saying that.
So I had a moment of like, can he turn on this? But
it wasn't. It's not a smartstereo like a ROGUEU where you can turn
it on from an app. It'snot like that. It was like and
it was just the stereo. Andas I'm sitting there looking at the remote
in my hand, click the stereoclicks back on, and the volume of
(17:23):
cricks. Oh my, I upto a thunderd and I turn it off
again and I sprint all the wayupstairs like goosebebs. I sprint all the
way up sterio and all the wayup to the front door, and I
go out onto the front porch andI'm crying and I called my my best
the other time, and I waslike, oh my god, I'm freaking
(17:45):
out. And I was like, like, some things down there's some things
down there. I can't stay alone. And it was like daytime and it
was so scary. It was Sothat was probably one of the scariest experiences
especially because I was like in teenyeah, so I'm like yeah. And
then also there was a time whereme and my best in high school,
(18:06):
we would we spent a lot oftime at the house after school. We
would like come over and cook littlenachos in the microwave, and we have
hanging pots and pants, And therewas one day where me and her we're
just hanging out in the kitchen, like eating a snack, and all of
a sudden, the pots and pantsjust started like rattling, like just smashing
into each other and like unprompted, uncalled for, and we squoiled and then
(18:30):
ran away because we were like whatthe hell. College Also there was a
lot of spooky stuff. I feellike I have to save some stories though
well, I mean, hopefully inthe future we can have people submit their
stories. But we could also alwaystalk about reacting to like our favorite horror
movies, favorite horror movies. Ialso would like to look up some local
lore because I like like local ghoststories. I think those are kind of
(18:56):
friends. And I mean, wecould definitely do a piece on Kennetti School.
Yes, definitely, Like Portland hassome really spooky history. I'm really
surprised we would never run in aghost tour. We should do the ghost
tour and talk about it too. That would be fun. Yeah, we
honestly the spooky Sundays that we wouldalso, Yeah, I'd like to hash
out, you know, talk abouta horror movie we just watched, you
(19:17):
know, react to a horror movie, or tell our favorite scary like read
from scary stories, you know, like stories to tell them the dark.
There's so many fun things that wewant to do. But me and me
and Chloe, we just love horrorand so does Jessica too. It's like
it's blood or something something. It'sbecause that's how we bonded with our dad.
(19:40):
He would just like we put ona horror movie and we'd watch that
with him. That and the Chinesefood from Safe Way. It was a
long time. Yeah, yeah, gets some of the Chinese food at Safe
Way, the ready and hot stuffstill kind of slaps to this day though.
Honestly, I'm Mike, You're like, why would you see that?
