Speaker 1 (00:01):
Rad comic podcaster. Hey, what's up everybody? Welcome back to
that comic podcast. I'm Mashco. I'm one of your wonderful
hosts here. We also have on tap with us tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Hueie, what's going on? Go birds?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
What's fair enough? And we also have Lens he still
does until this doomsday drops men, maybe he'll redeem himself.
But we're not talking about that tonight. We're talking about
Batman two and a little bit of a Daredevil because
what you know, we haven't seen season two yet, but

(00:43):
we're getting the season three. We're gonna talk about that
a little bit. Yes, First up, though, the Batman two stuff,
They've been really quiet about it for the longest time.
It was where's the script? Matt Reeves is working on
the script. We're gonna get rid of Batman, Introduce somebody new,
Robert Pattinson's out. Is the DC you picking up the

(01:04):
else world? It's just a mess. Finally was something different exactly,
But it seems like we finally did get some confirmation
not too long ago that Batman two the script was done.
We're moving into the next phase, and most recently we
were able to get confirmation that we're going to prepare

(01:26):
to shoot next spring, so twenty twenty six, sometime in
the spring, we'll start to get some some things coming
out about that. First thoughts on that, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I'm excited because for the script and the idea of
this movie franchise continuing to be so wishy washy, for
them to be confident now saying hey, you know what,
let's go do this, it means that they probably got
something good.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
So yeah, I'm excited for this to finally get this
bowl moving. And didn't Matt Reeves also come out and
say that the villain for this will has not been
seen on screen yet.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yes, yeah, you're you're jumping the gun. But that's really
I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I want to get to it.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
That's really important about what we do need to talk about.
And you know, coming out of all this stuff that's
coming big coming out about clay Face, all the behind
the scenes, uh, it seems like the tone, hopefully the
tone of clay Face kind of rolls into this. Although
Clayface is supposed to be DCU, you still don't know

(02:31):
who knows. But yeah, the the information coming out about
the villain, you know, he claims that the villain will
be someone from Batman lore who hasn't really been done
in live action, which is phenomenal to hear. So who
do you who are your guests? First of who this

(02:51):
might be?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Oh, man, I think Clayface, right, Like, that's what all
signs are leading towards.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Well, got Face movie. So they're not gonna do a
clay Face movie and then do clay Face as a
villain for Batman.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Too, unless they're setting up for the long game.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Possibly, I wouldn't put it past them, But I the
few names that I've been hearing, you know, there's there's
I guess three big ones. Obviously, Court of Owls, the
overall villain because they were somewhat alluded to in the Batman. Yes,

(03:31):
you know, the under the the other rich families that
are controlling everything. Uh, the the big one is Hush obviously.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
And then I think it's too soon for Rush maybe
mm hm.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
And then I'm probably gonna say the third that you
guys are thinking, which is Hugo Strange.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, I was more thinking.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
I was.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I was trying to think, like maybe calendar Man to to.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Well, I mean yeah, I mean seeing how they did
Riddler in a in a very sadistic realistic other stick
added on to the end of the word. I mean.
First thing, though, when I hear calendar well calendar Man, Well, no,
that's dcu uh interesting. I think at some point Dave

(04:24):
had Dave Batista came out or it was mentioned that
he would be an excellent Hugo Strange. Hmm.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I wouldn't mind seeing Hugo Strange as a villain.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I trust Matt reeves with whoever it is because of
the way they put Paul Daniel in that Riddlar role
and it was so great that I would have never
expected to put those two together in any capacity, And
so I'm excited and I'm hopeful for whoever.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
I mean, another one that comes to mind when he
specifically said, some villain that we haven't seen done, you know,
properly or in this way in movies are realistic, mister
Freeze would be interesting.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Oh yeah, or an actual black mask. Yeah, I mean
he was the villain in the start of Absolute Batman.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Mm hmmm, well they I guess some of the behind
the scenes of clay Fate. Again, it's it's so weird
because you start talking about one side of it, and
I mean Reeves specifically said Elseworld in his statements about
this movie.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yeah, well, right, because every every non DCU movie will
be titled Elseworld's.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Right, So will they convert like we still don't know.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Maybe they'll converge, right, they may, I don't know, Yeah,
I I honest I think it's going to be quarter Bells,
just because I do think they're gonna lean more into
the Wayne family history.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Right and find out they were probably you know, involved
in the quarter bells and all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
And from there you could get hushed and a third
I know you could. Yeah, who knows if a third
is even on the table. But I'm just like anybody.
I'm sure they want to do the third act of
the trilogy. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yeah, that could be, and then hush comes to Yeah, no,
actually that might work.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah, that could really work. Robin, Well we see, Robin.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
No, I don't think.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I feel like it's too early. When does it? How
far after the first one does this take place?

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Do we know? Idea?

Speaker 3 (06:43):
No?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Idea?

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, no clue.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
I mean they just finished the script kind of right.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
So Pattinson's kind of at that age where you can
make him look twenty five or you can make him
look forty five, and so.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Sure, well, I mean he's he's probably forty at this point,
thirty nine. I know, like every time we bring up
his name, we're like Twilight guy. Yeah he's in this
twenty he's late thirties. At this point, he.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Is thirty nine. So his birthday's in May.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Okay, so by the time this film's he could be
forty or right on the cusp of being forty, which
is a perfect age for Batman.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah, yeah, yes, because yeah, because the first uh movie
was what basically Year.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Two, Yeah, yeah, White one.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Right, so it's a couple more years, a little more
you know, a little more into his Batman because remember
this was the first Batman movie, was we got Batman,
we didn't get Bruce Wayne, Right, So I think what
I think we're gonna maybe do is maybe this one
we will get more of a fifty to fifty split.

(07:52):
And then maybe on the last one, if say, if
they do bring in Hush, we'll get more Bruce Wayne,
because you'll bring you'll, you'll hi the Bruce Wayne persona
into the Thomas Elliott Sorr. Yeah, so it would be the
three phases him just being really Batman kind of splitting
it up and then maybe more Bruce Wayne, Yeah, this is.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Any any direction? I read somewhere that Kristin Miliotti is
not going to be in this movie whatsoever? Or right
and or no? You know it was Who's Who's Selena?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Oh right Kravitz?

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Yeah, so no cab woman what she said. But you
know how this game works.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Who do you think it's gonna be as Linearly? Yeah,
that's focused as the first warn or do we are
we branching out? We're getting multiple villains? Are we're getting
extra stuff rather than a straightforward Batman versus ex character.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
I think it'll be from one and then getting us
to the next, so by you know, he's dealing with
one and it could very well be uh, you know,
Court of Owls and then it leads to Hush, or
it could be like a Hugo Strange leading to court.
I think someone at the end of this thing will
be introduced as well as the Oz. COB's got to

(09:22):
be in this at some point.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Well, I was gonna say they could also be introducing
a third minor character to maybe them lead into another
TV series. I think they're gonna flush out some of
his main Rogues galleries in the TV TV shows. If
this whole universe continent.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Keeps going, which I mean that should we get the
Joseph Gordon Levitt type character where he's like kind of
hanging out and around around the movie and at the
very end it's like, you know what, I will take
you in and train you. You know, m h little
Robin Man.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
I don't think they're gonna do Robin in this universe.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
No, Yeah, they'll definitely do it in dc U.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah, Well, could be a Batman Robbie again, and Batman
will be blue and gray, which.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
I'm excited for, and hopefully it's not color corrected post
recordings like they did with the Flash movie.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Yeah, and I know Gun is a huge fan of
red Hood, so it could go that direction.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Yeah. I don't think we'll see Joker in Matt Reeves'
universe now, I don't.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
I don't think we know we're not going to release.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
I don't know, interesting stuff. I you know, I'm sure
we can keep going on and on, but this is
kind of the newest, newest stuff come out of that
else world. Uh what was it?

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (10:56):
And we'll move on in a second. But the there
was like a reference to black Man in the clay
Face stet photos. Really Yeah, and then like yellow Canary,
Yellow Canary set, black and black Canary. Wow, a couple
of different things, and then obviously the bat.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Which black Canary, Oliver Queen and.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, a lot of cool stuff happening on that set.
Another set that were we didn't think would open up
this quickly. We just you know, Daredevil two isn't out yet.
We know they finished filming, but they've already been green
lit for a season three, which we were really hoping
for anyway, because there's a lot to cover and a

(11:37):
lot of people to bring back.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Yeah, and like rumor kind of was a season two
was going to be the end, and they did.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
The same thing with season one and season two, right,
they confirmed season two before season one aired. Undaredevil, Well,
I think.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
You know what, Season two was announced like right as
it aired, but we still got like months and months
before we get season two.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Remember when they originally announced season one and they said
we're going to be doing like two or like twenty.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Twenty six episodes. Yeah, right, And that's why I think
everyone thought, maybe, all right, it's just two seasons, that's.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
It, right, So maybe this maybe season two is actually
the continuation of season one originally, and then we're not
going to get into that old mess. But hey, we
know exactly. We know Kristen River is coming back for
season two. The way they handled that was pretty brilliant
because when she was in New York filming Dexter, she

(12:38):
was also filming and Daredevil, so it was kind of.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Funny lunch break.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yeah, so she's like, no, I'm here for Dexter and
then that was that. But the most recently there there
was I think it was this weekend. I forget what convention.
I want to say, Toronto, don't hold me to it,
and I'm not going to look it up, but Michael
Coulter was there and there was an interview that was

(13:06):
with him and Feat. It wasn't That's that's the funny part.
In a way, I guess he confirmed that he's coming
back for season three. But when I actually read through
the comments and there wasn't a video that I saw,
but there was quotes. It's basically what we uncovered back

(13:26):
in May when Features and Buzz and Minty I believe
went down to Monster Media in Baltimore. So if you
check out our shorts or even on Instagram there's a
video of Features talking with Michael Coulter about you know,
what would you want to do if you came back
to Daredevil and talking about how, you know, culture would

(13:47):
want to run Harlem, And then we went down this
whole rabbit hole of well, he's he runs Harlem, then
he becomes the mayor, and then he's dealing with Fisk,
and there's this whole whole dynamic.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
He currently met you're in the comics. He I know
he wasn't.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Yeah, I think it was dark when it happened. I
might be wrong on that.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
No, I mean because Fisk was mayor and then got
out it and now Luke Cage was. I know Luke
Cage was mayor up until Blood Rain most of the
Vampire one, which just.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Had uh that one can't remember.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah, but he was as of this year where the
last within the last year he was still mayor.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
So right, So I mean that makes a lot of
sense if you were to come back in that capacity,
because then you know, we're going to see what Fist
does with the I can't wait. There's a lot of parallels,
more so now than even you know, back when it
air there are a lot of parallels with the political
climate in the world right now, with what's going on

(14:52):
and fisks New York. It's pretty pretty interesting. But you
know what, what are Maybe we'll get iron Fists or no,
they said we'd get a new Iron Fist. I don't
know if I read that something.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
I think the original actor did not get recast.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Yeah, I thought he was coming back.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
I mean technically we didn't get Culter either, so it
might be a case of him. Oh yeah, I think
we saw somewhere that he was going to come back
and then pass off the whatever mantle of it to
somebody else. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yeah, I just need like a Star Trek type Nova series.
That's that's what I need.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
The sidebar for a second. Did you guys catch on
social media slash Instagram Jennifer Garner back in the Electra.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yeah, let me find that picture. Yeah, she posted her
basically in the Electro costume from You're wearing a shirt
that Dead Pull Wolverine movie.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Right. I couldn't tell if it was a I mean
she played it off as if it was a new photo, right,
So who knows what that we've been I don't know
exactly when when these videos are going to come out
or audio. But we are going to be talking about
some doomsday stuff. Chances are you already heard it versus this.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Hey, I think we're gonna post that first. Here we go.
Here is the Jennifer Gardner pictures.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
We got this one here, she's in the chair. For
those of you just listening, Oh, it's like she's in
a back lot somewhere.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
In the chair in the chair behind her since eleven.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
It's probably code names for shooting purposes.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Yea, possibly there's more pictures here.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Let's see anything else. It's just some pictures here.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
She did like a photo dump of something.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
So you know what this could have been taken then
during If that's a photo dump on her end, that
could have been taken when she filmed dead.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Right, doesn't I hope?

Speaker 2 (17:01):
I hope?

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Similar? Yeah, look similar to the brand new day font
for Spider Man. It's weird.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
That's different.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Hmmm.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
They went quiet on that set. You're not anything out
of Spider Man. Now. I think they strategically did that
whole like, check us out, this is what we're doing,
and now.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
It's they moved filming around to film the outdoor stuff
first so they could show to suit off, get it
out of the way, and now they're all behind closed doors.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
I saw some posts about who's the blonde girl from Wednesday?
Like people have been fighting for that girl to be
gwen'sday or yeah, Spider Gwen. Mm hmmm. I don't know
if there's an validity behind it, just like all the
other crap that's online right now.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Uh crap we found online?

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yah? What do we find something new? Something off the press?

Speaker 2 (18:03):
No? No, what we were sharing in our group chat
about the playing card? Oh yeah, right, so we got
our first look at Absolute Joker.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
That yeah, that's it's cool.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
I fell off Absolute Batman. I mean, I'm the whole
absolute thing I've I know, people love it and it's
doing great for sales and everything. Just like for whatever
reason I think I said before, like the.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
You know, Mosco was out after the after Batman punted
the child off the kolo he loves any better than this, right?

Speaker 1 (18:52):
That was kind of cool. In the What Too two
or two episodes two issues ago where Batman got is
what arms cut off? Like all the spoiler should be
up to date on it now, but.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
That was all that's all Dream was stupid.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
I read that. I read that one. I guess I'm
too behind.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
You're not that far. You were four issues behind?

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Five? Well, I skipped probably I read the first six,
then I skipped everything.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
You just skipped, mister Freeze arc.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Yeah, I also stepped the Freeze.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Dark That was actually there was only two issues. That
was actually really good. It made Freeze more relatable as
a person.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
M I mean, I admire the book, the story, the art, everything.
It's just not my cup of tea. But that that
playing card is very reminiscent of which Joker that card, Oh.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
Gosh from the Ledger, right, yes, yeah, straight from the movie.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Is that the cover or is that like a just
like they just put it was the cover.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
I'm sure they will make that the cover. But yeah,
that's just a picture floating around. Pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Yeah, it's exciting to see what they're what they're doing
with this alternate universe.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Yeah, between them before, between Absolute and Ultimate, it's.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Yeah, play the plane car from Dark Knight.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
Yeah, that's cool. I like callbacks and things like that.
That's pretty neat. And that's it.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
A couple little some new stuff that's dropped the last
couple of days. Yeah, that's pretty much.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
That is That is pretty much. I know, like we
we have a whole bunch of other things we want
to talk about, but that's for another show. So that's
why we're.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Okay you may have which you may have already.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Heard, uh but with that, you know, stay tuned. I'm
sure we'll have some other things this week and uh
you want to bring us home on hueye all right.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Yeah, so you can find us everywhere on the dot
com podcast, uh, dot com podcast dot com unless you're
going to Twitter slash x, which is just that comic pod.
But also make sure you check out us on YouTube.
That's we're basically going, uh more YouTube here you actually
see us. We can throw himself up here for you
guys to look at. But that's pretty much it.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
So I'm Huie Fantastic Combasco.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
I'm Lance, and we will see you next time.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
