Speaker 1 (00:01):
Rad comic podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Hey, what's up everybody? And welcome back to that comic podcast.
I'm your host Moshko, and with me today are two
of our wonderful hosts. First up, we have Buzz What's
Up Everybody one Chainsaw and we also have a producer
extraordinary Baby.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
What I'll do it? What's going on? So if you
guys are tuning in with us weekly and checking out
all our shows. Recently, we did talk about Man of Tomorrow,
some information dropped and we we did talk about it
a little bit. But since then a few more things
have come out, so we thought it'd be great for
us to kind of talk about the moniker of Man
(00:50):
of Tomorrow. You know some of the things.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
The video is doing well on Instagram and well, you
know YouTube, so I'll say talk about it.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Got to ride it. It's popular right now. You know.
James Gunn has come out and said a lot of
different things. First of all, this is not a sequel.
It's a prequel slash sequel. He said something funny, but yeah, well,
the funny thing is with James gun as we've all
(01:22):
kind of found out recently, he'll do one thing. He'll
say one thing then say something else. Yeah, you know,
like spinning the name of Supergirl su Supergirl was Woman
of Tomorrow, but I guess as he did his sixty
page treatment recently, he decided, you know what, no, I
(01:42):
want that name, so I'm gonna spin it to Man
of Tomorrow. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
It's funny.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
It's like he just he's, you know, as he's creating it.
If new stuff comes in, new ideas, con Man, he
just rolls.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
With it, which is fine. I mean, I'm I'm okay
with that. I don't. Yeah, some people though, I'm sure
you guys are seeing the the comments and everything online
about well, gly, that's not where he said one thing
and now he's changing it. And you know, no one's
no one's believing him.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
When he talked about it, it was truth and then
things change and now it's the new truth. You know.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Yeah, it's he's in charge, right, so we're all just
gonna like listen like what he has to say, like
great as the great as at the DCU.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, and I'm okay with it because what he can
do as the writer director boss, he could fast track
a lot of this stuff so it doesn't have to
go through all the different hoops, which is fantastic because
and that's kind of where some of the first bit
of new information came out. He said the script is done,
(02:45):
So two weeks ago, here's the treatment and now it's done.
I mean, we all know he's a great writer. Yeah,
he can turn turn pages out.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
He does prefer to write, so I'm sure that's kind
of like his he's read or write it all right.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
And I think I read somewhere that what he said
now Peacemaker is going to lead into Made of Tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yes, so yeah interesting. And I actually before we jumped
on and I saw that he's safeguarding episodes six through eight.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Yes, of press got to see.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
It, no one's seeing it.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
I think that's smart.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Absolutely, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Yeah, David corn Sweat shows up in Peacemaker at the ends.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
What the internet's telling me.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
That would be reason enough to keep it a secret
for sure, Yeah, because that would leak that you're talking
about the photos, Huie, Well, just.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Because with everything coming out him saying it's going to
be a prequel, plus f photo we just saw while
John Cena and cornsweat together it could you know, first
we thought, okay, maybe they were just filming close together,
but start putting two and two together, it's like, all right,
something they may be, you know, filming together for the
(04:03):
last few episodes.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, he did say episode six will have a big
cameo and episode eight will have a big cameo.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Okay, stoop is getting the last episode.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yeah. And if you saw like the latest latest Peacemaker episode,
Joel Kenneman was on was in it. Yeah, who adamantly,
you know, months ago said I would never ever appear
on that show. Like he was very he was, you know,
complete opposite of watch him call it Holland Tom Holland,
(04:40):
I should say, yeah, they've.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
All taken classes from Stephen Emmel of how to bullshit.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yeah. The I think what came out recently was the
three people who are actually confirmed right now for Man
of Tomorrow is just Superman, like Lois. There's some rumors
behind a lot of different other people. But you know,
I have my theory and I think we'll talk about it.
He said. Lois plays a pivotal role in this What
(05:13):
do you think of that?
Speaker 4 (05:15):
She got a lot of screen time in the Superman film.
So their relationship is you know, moving around a little bit.
So it's kind of like, I think Gun's going to
dive into other characters more in the next film.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
I'm wondering if if her playing a bigger role or
majority of the role, it's gonna be a lowess centric
story of her investigating something or writing a story about something.
And Superman himself is kind of more just in the background,
whereas Lois, I think, will be the you know, spying
(05:50):
trying to get this, get the story out. Something happens,
Supermin coomes and saves her for a minute and leaves again,
so he may not be in it much.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
What the image that dropped right with Lex in the
armor and Superman next to him and lexis sort of
Lex is sort of down and out at the end
of Superman, So it's kind of like it's almost like
they're in they're insinuating that it's sort of a Lex reboot,
you know, sort of rebirth for Lex with the suit.
M Why is Superman? Like what it's one of the
(06:22):
imageries is Jim Lee one Jim Lee drew He's holding
a tool like he helped them build it or something
like their friends.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
So yeah, actually that's uh, if you guys saw the
thumbnail it's on the thumb. Now it's it's weird how
And I guess what I'm trying to say here is
he may just take elements of some of these stories
and build his own, which I mean here like yeah,
(06:50):
so for him to say Lois is playing a pivotal
role rolling that into Man of Tomorrow. Uh. At one point,
Man of Tomorrow is referred to or it was a
title for a Superboy book, if I'm not mistaken, spinning
that into maybe she's pregnant mm hmm, and Man of
(07:12):
Tomorrow is actually.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Yeah, I don't know, I feel like it might be
a little early for.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Something like that, but I mean that's a big I
wouldn't put it past them, that's all.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah, they could just they.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Can move forward in time on the on the storyline, Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Mean you know how big he is on you know,
telling stories that you know, pull out the heartstrings. And
I mean what more of a he pulled the dog card? Yeah,
the first one, you know, time for a baby in
the next.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
There's there's so many different ways to go, especially with
I guess potentially pulling Brainiac into this thing.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Yeah, it's interesting. Uh.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
The Action Comics five four four that the suit appears
in is a double story issued. It has a Brainiac
story as well in the back. Really yeah, and it's
a the cover illustrates sort of new versions of those villains.
You're getting like the new lex and the armor, and
you're getting like a more like AI looking sort of
(08:16):
robot thing with Brainiac as Superman is like freaking out
in the background on the cover art, and so in
the storyline, they're basically like upgrading those villains.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
So maybe that's in.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
The background there for like an existential threat for both
of them to work together for you know, I know,
lex getting the suit was kind of like his way
to one up Superman from the Last Battle. It's a
suit that he got in a secret room on a
planet Lexor, which was like a civilization that he set
up as like an escape. Superman beats the heck out
of him and he goes there in a ship he
(08:50):
has like an android. I think it's like RX nine
to nine that takes him there. And surprisingly on Lexor,
Luther has a wife and kid and he like experience
his happiness like for the first time, but his hate
for Superman is so great and when he finds the
secret laboratory in the storyline, that's where he has built
the suit and uh basically corrupts him again.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Soups invades and then they fight.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
I don't know, there's so many different.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
There's a lot of angles.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yeah, and then again he's gonna put a spin on
it somehow.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Yeah, I think he might. He might not do anything
in that, you know.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
I immediately went right to read that issue to see
and I thought it was interesting. The other planet could
be like a pocket dimension world thing that he creates.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
We've kind of done that with the Pocket Dimension stuff.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
And I don't think it's going away.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Yeah, I don't know the Pocket Dimensions going away. With
it being like basically the plot point for Peacemaker two,
you know, and Lex had it and Superman and they're
saying that two are connected, then that definitely brings in
that pocket dimension technology to be able to like bring
everybody over.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
That might be a way to trap Brainiac. Ah.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Yeah, so instead of using like the negative zone to
use his pocket dimension.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Yeah, send them to another reality. I'm wondering if it
was fine a way to take it over.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Lex is gonna find something in space that has Brainiac
in it, bring him to Earth Brainiac will help him
make the suit. Yeah, I like that, appreciate and they
may take was it who was the clone portraying in
the beginning of Superman something Brabia the the Hammer that
(10:32):
suit might be retro fitted into.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
His Well, it's obvious that, like the the image drop
pretty cool that he used like you know, comic artists
to do that. He's still keeping that like laced in.
But like it was all about Lex being in that
suit and you know, seeing like the Peacemaker, alternate dimension
brother and father in the suits as like heroes. You know,
I anticipate, you know, that's an actor in the suit
(10:57):
looking good and.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Maybe he gets that suit. Yeah, different, Ah, so many
different things, and you know then you start layering in
like some of the posts that we saw online from
different people like what was it the there was this
was a good one. Actually, somebody asked, h you know,
(11:21):
are we going to see Jon Stewart in the next film,
And then Aaron Pierre actually responded to the actual post yeah,
with like yes, there was something with who's the flash
guy from the He he answers everybody saying yeah, but
I don't I don't know if he'll be in that
(11:43):
Gustin Gustin, Yeah, so he did the same thing as
Belmber said said something. I mean, we anticipate her to
be in it. That makes complete sense, But we could
also be seeing the actual Justice League forming.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Yeah, I mean we're almost there.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Yeah, maybe a little Batman would be kind of.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah, it seems like more and more than a letting
Batman kind of like hang around.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Really cool stuff coming out of that Clayface film.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, that's gonna be great.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
A lot of references to a lot of a lot
of different people. Do you have any sidebar thoughts on
this whole movie, things that could happen minute tomorrow. Yeah,
I think.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
It's gonna be a Lex centric film. I think you're
gonna have Lois like trying to kind of get in
the way of Lex, you know, by reporting on them,
trying to get the people's favor again, and then you'll
have to have you know, brainy At come in as
an existential threat, and then like Soups and Lex might
work together for like a little bit, but it won't last.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
I don't know, that's my.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
That's my just seeing what's going on and reading a
lot of comics. You know, there's gonna be another villain
of some kind.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Yeah, if they don't pull in another villain, I have
no idea where this is going.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
That's what I mean because like even in Action Comics
five four four, like part of the plot was like
the crowd on lex Or flipping for support for Luther
and being against him again, like within two panels, and
you saw that all throughout. Superman was like the siding
in the reverse, And I think that that can I
think that happens a lot, particularly in the DC comics.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yeah. I can't think of the storyline or which Man
of Tomorrow might have been rope or attached to, but
there was one I guess where I don't know which
one it is I'm talking about, but they team they
team up, Lex helps Soup. This is then the catalyst
(13:47):
for Lex becoming president. Oh yeah, and then I forget
the what year that was, and then that kind of
goes And that's where the Man of Tomorrow could also
apply for.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
Where they weren't they like it wasn't that part of
the campaign for him being the president was saying he
was like the Man of Tomorrow. Yeah, yeah, so that's
what I'm saying, Like I feel like calling it Man Tomorrow,
putting Lex in the suit designed by George Perez by
the way, phenomenal, phenomenal DC Comics, comic cards. It's like
almost seems like the storyline might be developing the Lex
(14:23):
character in the beginning.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Maybe in the first half.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
I mean it's definitely a possibility.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
The villain's always like the winner in the first arc,
you know. Yeah, and then it kind of turns into
something else.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, I mean, maybe we'll we'll get more as Peacemaker concludes,
exactly better understanding.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
And you've got the people and Peacemaker who are tracking
the energy stuff this maybe that'll be like a link
to what see they see coming in in the stratosphere.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
You know what, I'm thinking, different story here now, Like.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
I love your theories, I love them.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Yeah, Brainiac shows up and starts to be the Man
of Tomorrow, right, but of course, like Lex can see
right through it, being as smart as he is. He
talks Superman into like seeing his side at you know,
Brainiac's gonna you know, function ship up. Yeah, super And
then with that picture, you know, with Superman holding the wrench,
(15:21):
Superman helps him take the suit. Maybe still out of
the the Bravia suit. Yeah, and then them to team
up together to fight, fight and finish off Brainiac, and
then that also then leads to him becoming president or
starting his campaign for it.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
I can definitely see the team up. I can see
him helping him, helping him. I can see them fighting
him in the middle of it and flipping back and forth.
And I can definitely see like an unknown threat yet
to be announced.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
The whole time, Superman's waiting for Lex to turn. At
the end, he doesn't. That's that's where he comes goes
and present. M Okay, interesting, That's that's what I'm thinking.
The more I'm reading some things here and digesting it,
that's my story right now until I hear otherwise.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
I'll tell you one thing you're not you're not wrong
about is like I was saying before, there is a
constant theme in these characters where they're good, bad, good,
and bad.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
So I think that's something there has.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Yeah, there has to be a way for you to
relate with you know, the the quote unquote typical villain.
Otherwise you know, it doesn't doesn't make for a good story,
and you have to have that in there.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
And maybe this whole movie's told the perspective of Lois.
That's how she's a more centric.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
It's yeah, like it's almost a narrative thing of a
story that she's doing. Yeah, trying to think of something
similar to that.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Someone's interviewing her and she's giving her you know, side
of it.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
Yeah, because she's kind of like rebellious as a journalist,
So like whatever is going on in the narrative, you know,
Lewis might be the antagonist, you know, with with.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Her work, like.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Yeah, because she's she's pretty fervent in that in that movie.
You know, she's not like a docile writer at all.
That's not the character. The character is pretty kind of
like a should starter for lack of their term why
fire starter.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Should start?
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Allright, so we think any other characters might show up
in the movie. I mean like the animated movie they
did of Man of Tomorrow had uh, oh god, what
is his name?
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Marshall Manhunt?
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Well yeah, Marsha man Hunt was in it could possibly
have a minute, but also had Lobo. Yeah right, yeah,
you can make a quick appearance maybe after.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
She already have made an appearance in Supergirl.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
And also was who's the who's the main villain that
ex such your powers.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Yeah, the villain and Supergirl.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
No, in the Man Tomorrow movie.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Oh uh, I didn't catch that one.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
The purple guy, what does his name?
Speaker 4 (18:20):
I think we're gonna get some new characters, and I'm
not Man of Tomorrow. I think we're gona get some
new characters. Sure, he gave us a ton of characters
in Superman, so he's bound to give us the Wonder
Twins or something.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Oh jeez, they were purple with our powers? Come up?
Is is that it?
Speaker 3 (18:38):
I think of something like that.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
That's a captain planet.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Oh no, DoD cheetle, but they.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Like I form a water pill.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, well something something that just came to mind. The
whole premise of I guess this period of the d
c U is gods and monsters. M m. So I
imagine that theme will still have to go into the
Man of Tomorrow. So you know, will we see some
other type of giant monster? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Probably, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
We could that's maybe could you? Yeah? Maybe his parasite.
So at the end of that movie he did turn
to a giant monster.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
It gives the powers of Superman really good display. When
you fight a big monster, can really do a lot
with it.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
That's sure, all right, I don't know who knows. I
think we're starting to reach now, so.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Yeah, until more information comes out and actually still actually
start filming the movie and we start seeing leaks, you know,
it's all.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
We're getting a new episode of Peacemaker every week, so pretty.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Soon well nowtely worth Yeah, three in three in so
four or five, so about three more weeks from now
a month drop you.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
We'll check back in with you the Man of Tomorrow series.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Yeah, yeah, cool before we wrap things up. If there's
anything that you want us to talk about or have
any you know, want to know our take on something,
we're fair game for, you know, trying to answer those things.
So we're always looking for good questions to answer. And
Hughey's got these wild theories that more often than not
(20:24):
come true, so I'm sure we'll want to drop some
of those on. But uh, Huey, if you want to
bring us home.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
You can find the show everywhere online under that comment
podcast unless it's X and that case it's that Comet pod.
But make sure you head over to that comment podcast
dot com. That's where you'll find basically everything. So that's Moscow.
I'm Hueie, that's what you
