Speaker 1 (00:01):
Crad comic podcaster. Hey, what's up everybody. It's Wednesday, November twelfth,
and welcome back to that comic podcast. I'm your host
mashco with me today or two, yes, two of our
wonderful hosts here on the channel. First up, mister p

(00:24):
features hello at PlayStation dot com. Oh yeah, and today
his name is Lance a lot psychop.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Come on man, welcome back to the show.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Lance, Thanks, and welcome everybody back to the show again.
It's been a minute since we've done a little news.
Last week was a little bit of a regroup for
the holiday, so we know what we're doing this wonderful
holiday season. Can't wait to share some of that stuff
with you. But today again we're we're cutting up some

(01:00):
some fresh news. A few things hit the waiver wire today,
so we're going to talk about it. First up, actually,
let let's I'll give you a little taste. So we
have a little news for v for Vendetta. Haven't heard
about that title in a while. Potential actually not a potential.
I'll say it right now. Season two of Alien Earth

(01:21):
it's a go. We're going to talk about it. Fantastic, right,
what else? Little Superman spin off we'll talk about that
and some MCU stuff. So we're going to dive right
into the MCU information that we came across in the
last day or two. And it's, uh, it's something we

(01:42):
talked about a while ago and it kind of went away.
But the what's his name, Michael gia Chino, We're gonna
go with that.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's it's that's one.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Sorry, sorry, Michael gale gad As. I know recently you
guys check out Fantastic four First Steps on Disney Plus
came out. I don't know if everybody's aware of that,
but it did come out. Yeah. But one thing he
was talking about, and this is kind of interesting that
I guess he rewrote the entire score to the Fantastic

(02:19):
four First Steps after viewing the film's final cut. Oh
really Yeah, this is kind of the side story going
into what really matters here. But imagine doing all that work.
You see it, you're like, nah, I'm just going to
redo it.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
You really need to see the original with the original score.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Crazy, that's a lot of work, because the scores, aren't
they not like like songs with people on him For
the most part, that's just you like going through an
orchestra like change here, right, he did a whole movie
after it was done.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
I mean, I guess if you're a massive professional and
a gifted artist that maybe it's not that big a deal.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
But still a yeah, that's dedication, but you know, I appreciate.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
It, all right. The whole point of this story, though,
is in kind of like a side statement that he
made that he's doing a follow up to Werewolf by Night,
which he's going to direct.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Really listen, we want it, we want it, of course
we do.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Like haven't we talked about them possibly doing like a
continuation That might have just been us just having a
fit of foot Marble should do around out like.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
The Spooky season, but like having another Werewolf by Night excellent.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Well, here's the thing. He didn't necessarily say what it was.
He just said next project, so we kind of know
where they're going or want to go. You know, Midnight
Sun has kind of been oh yeah, yeah, pushed around
a lot recently, so that might be the follow up.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
He was he was on board to do the Blade movie.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Right, I'm not one hundred percent sure. I don't remember.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
So many people have been at move from that project.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
It's just pretty interesting that. You know, here you have
an artist. We'll call him an artist. He seems like
a guy that has many talents. He goes from scoring
an entire movie to directing a movie. I mean, I
you know, it's interesting.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
It's definitely what Midnight Sunds as a series or a
show because there's a lot there and it's all great.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah, I mean, there there's another story I read somewhere.
I forget what it was who it was about, but yeah,
we're just gonna forget that because I did. All right,
any other thoughts on that?

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Uh, it could it could be really exciting because we
we did not long ago talk about was it Jeff's
Jeff Snyder talking about Marvel focusing on the occult in
their in Their Lord.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah, so Midnight Suns could be it.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
And to be honest, if we're if we're getting another
where if you do wear wo by Night and then
slowly introduce all the other characters that are coming into
Midnight Suns, I could see him doing it that way.
I think that would be a great way to introduce,
to introduce things and even get Blade in here about
like about time. I don't seeing seeing the animated.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Version of Marshalla Ali as Blade. That was cool.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Now I need to see him in real life as Blade.
We gotta get there.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
I think the like Doomsday and Secret Wars are going
to do a lot of that legwork of introducing a
lot of those characters, Like we'll probably get Nico as
you know, a pop in and Blade'll make an appearance
at some point.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah. Well sounds like we're excited before the potential there. Yes,
hell yeah, who knows. I'm still waiting for Punisher.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
So and it's coming, It's coming.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
It is coming. There's side note. You guys watched batfaan
Batfam Batfam animation. It's on Amazon. Remember the Christmas bat
show from last year or maybe it was twenty twenty three.
It was very marry something Christmas. I guess there's an animated,

(06:35):
full animated season now of Batfan. Oh you said animation earlier.
That's kind of where I went with it.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
So, okay, you know about an animated show?

Speaker 2 (06:46):
I know, right, you know you can't get rid of this.
This is this is reported.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, I mean the the trailer came out a month
ago completely. I guess, Well, yeah, why am I bringing
this up if it's animation xerras sense I'm telling Minty
all right. Anyway, let's let's move on to something I'm
a little more excited about. And you guys remember American Vandals, Yes, vague.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
That was the mockumentary like true crime about the kid
that was drawing body parts on multiple places.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
You can say, Penis, it's cool last body parts.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
It was a Netflix show based on the true crime genre,
which it was. It was pretty funny. I think it
was only like two episodes, maybe more, I don't I
don't remember. But the creators of that are set to
also do a true crime series set in the DC universe,

(07:51):
and it sounds like this is actually going to be
the one where Jimmy Olsen is the main character in this.
Now we heard that he was going to get his
own show. This seems this sounds like it's going to
be that show. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
I'm as an American Vandal fan and thinking of Jimmy
Wilson from this latest Superman movie. I feel like that
could be a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Yeah, but is Jimmy Olsen going around graffitiing lower extremities everywhere?

Speaker 1 (08:29):
No, but it'll be you know, a procedural I guess
you can call it you know, the so that came
that came from Hollywood reporter, So uh, I forget the
guy's first name, but just Zonda. Who is Jimmy Olsen?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Like this is confirmed, this is happening, So it is
happening then.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Yeah, and then the the flip side of this is then.
Variety reported that the first season will feature a grill grod.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Oh okay, okay, now here's my thing because I from
from what I understand about it is it's it's about
Jimmy Olsen pretty much.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Uh, learning about or kind of like.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Uh investigating like the super villains of Metropolis. Like he's
it's it seems like almost like X filesy with with
Jimmy Olsen, but like how.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
What what what happens?

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Like he goes gorilla gorilla grids a gorilla and he
has psychic powers all right, so like like what then?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Like is the Superman pop out after that? Because this
has been my.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Thing with like when you do spin off of superhero
stories with like side characters, how do you make it work?
That's I don't know if you guys remember like when
when how much crap we gave Gotham? Because it was
like how are we learning with his Batman villains with
no Batman. It didn't for me, it didn't work, And

(09:56):
then some people did like the show, and you know
what more power to me.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Look at Peacemaker. Yep, right, yeah, that side character got
two seasons of some of the best TV but we've
ever had.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
And yeah, yeah, but Peacemakers and Peacemaker like Jimmy Olsen,
I don't It's me. I don't undert I don't understand
personally how interesting Jimmy Olsen can be that.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
And that's one me.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Now, if somebody out there in the vast realms of
the internets can explain in the comment section why Jimmy
Olsen is that important?

Speaker 2 (10:32):
You can watch a show Jess with him. Let me know,
features is all.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Features are gonna turn his intro into Jimmy Olsen sucks.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
You don't want to watch the files.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
I just immediately think if eagle Heart, do you guys
ever watch eagle Heart? There's like that fifteen minute adult
swim live action procedural that just was the most parody
it could possibly be.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
But now I have to google it.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
This could be a lot of fun, or it could
be you know, exactly as Patris described exactly as it.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
We'll see.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
I have to check it out before I can give
it too much crap, So we'll see.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
We'll see.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
I think once we see lanterns and what they do
with that, then maybe we'll feel a little more comfortable
about this. I mean, the you know, the gun stuff
is fine. Creature Commando's is good. Yeah, Peacemaker's Great Superman
was good, so we know what he's capable of doing
and what to expect. It's now when you have other

(11:44):
people playing in his sandbox. You know, is he going
to give them all the toys that they want to use? Ye,
we'll see. But you know they're also you know, he's
also the one in part hiring these people, so he
must have you know, faith and what they'll be able
to accomplish, so.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
He hired them.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
I trust James Gunn to get it done.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yes, and and and the next show that is also
coming from Peter Saffron and James Gunn is a v
for Vendetta TV show.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Oh interesting, yes.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Yeah, so this again will be an HBO show.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
This could be like a Game of Thrones level show
could be.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Remember it makes me really excited.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Remember November.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Yeah, the you know Pete Jackson is attached to write
this series. I don't. That's not Peter Jackson. Peachacks. Okay,
I did the same point where I read it.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
I was like, whoa wait a minute, what's the budget?

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Yeah, one hundred million dollars an episode. No real idea
what he's done. I didn't really give it an opportunity
to look it up. But I mean, we all know
the kind of the backstory on V for Vendetta. We
we all enjoyed the movie way back when some of
us may have read the books. You know. The the

(13:20):
interesting thing that I found out in one of these articles,
where the heck is it that Pennyworth? So you remember
that show, right? Yes? So that was meant to serve
as a prequel to V for Vendetta. Huh Yeah, something
to do with the Channel four attempts to develop a

(13:44):
V for Vendetta TV series, but it ultimately did not
move forward. Channel four is like a British show TV station,
I think. And then the HBO series Pennyworth followed that
Bruce Or followed Ruce Wayne's famous butler Alfred during his
life in the nineteen sixties London, who was also meant

(14:06):
to serve as a prequel to V for Vendetta. It
was canceled after three seasons before the storyline could be
fully fleshed out, so before they hit the point I
guess for it to actually be a prequel. Yeah, although
like we were expecting Pennyworth to be a Batman prequel.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Right, Yeah, it's kind of weird.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Someone finally got both scripts.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Like there's a reason why they left that statement at
the end of the article, because as soon as you
hit that, you come to a screeching halt and go.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
What Yeah, doesn't make any even work?

Speaker 1 (14:37):
I don't know, but.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Interesting, yeah, very And I'm more interesting is how do
you make that work?

Speaker 2 (14:49):
I don't see.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I don't Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I mean you get the.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
You know, you get you get James Bond that shows up,
and then you get the doctor and you know that
they are all there. They're having a great time. Yeah, hbo.
They can do whatever they want.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
That's true. They have all the properties. Well they're trying
to sell all the properties, right uh. Yeah. They caught
me off guard. I was like, well, all something so.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Many different points.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Something that didn't catch me off guard, and we literally
pulled it up. Oh, probably twenty minutes before we started recording. Yeah,
and this is probably the best news I've seen or
heard all day that Alien Earth is renewed for season two.
This is confirmed. This is well, it's confirmed according to
an individual with knowledge of the situation.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Yes, there was definitely a guy in a room.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
I mean this comes courtesy a variety, so you know,
they actually do have to check some of the stuff.
So yeah, what's it? Noah Holly, So I guess he's
signed on for an overall deal that is valued in
the nine figure range. So is that.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
For Alien Earth or is that for the entire that's
for Disney.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Okay, but this is part of the deal and production
is going to start or it looks like it will
begin in London in twenty twenty six. It's only two
months away, right, Just remember that twenty twenty six is
two months away or six weeks whatever. The first season

(16:26):
was shot in Thailand, so that's kind of interesting. Yeah,
that is find facts with Yeah, so sounds like maybe
we're all going back to Earth or you know, to
civilized well not civilized but whatever, you know what I'm
talking about, We're going back to Utani and all that.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
You know what I find What I find interesting about
that that that deal to me sounds like with all
the I don't know if I want to say recent success,
but I would from my lens, I'll say recent success
with like the Predator series is uh and and Aliens.
I think they're really moving forward with this Aliens Predator

(17:09):
combined universe, and why freaking George they should.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yeah, there's a lot of talk about Aliens five. I
think number we're on h I know, really Scott's yeah,
he's really acting kind of weird. It's like, I want
it back, but everybody's like, we're good.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Yeah, Cha wasn't Cannon and then they were Cannon because.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Yeah, and apparently they.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Sounds like Sigourney we ever once back in for something.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
You can bring her back.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
I'll take her back, yeah, just to add a little
bit more spice and to make things, you know, more
more cohesive.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Yeah, don't bring her back in. I would.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah. I mean the purists are you know, always up
in arms and about a lot of this stuff, and.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
I just wish they would figure out what they want
to do with the main continuity. And well that's that
I'm hyped.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Listen, I'm hyped too.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
And then to your point, that's the tough part when
it comes to Aliens and Predators. I think Aliens continuity
is a little bit more easier. But honestly, if you
ask me, and I'm not as big as a fan
as most are, I am a fan. I feel like
Prometheus in Romulus. Not Romulus, but Prometheus and and Covenant

(18:35):
kind of threw things off a little bit.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
It just im.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
I enjoyed Prometheus, but Covenant just felt forced and it
felt like they didn't know what they were doing at all.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah, and it's what's funny. What's funny to me is
and I read a ton of comments. I like to
know what people are thinking out there, especially during Alien
Earth everybody was complaining about, you know, the there's not
enough aliens or all the aliens. I'm on the other side,

(19:11):
going and and this is why I Predator bad Lands
was enjoyable to me. And we'll we'll talk about that
later in the week. It gave you a little bit
more understanding of the businesses. Like that stuff just intrigues
me to like, yeah, just like the operational stuff, what

(19:31):
they're doing, why they're trying to like all that is
extremely interesting to me, and not like the Alien is
to me, it's just another alien.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
Well you know what to your point, Mashco like I
and that's that's really I think what made Alien Earth
really good because if you look back, even even at
the first Alien movie, you you hear whalen whaling u
tani first, then an alien habit.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
And to be quite clear, for the people who complain.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
There's not enough alien and Alien Earth, first off, there
are plenty of aliens and Alien Earth. But if you
want it to be specific and just have it called
XENOMORPHI sure you know, then complain, but it doesn't say that.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
It says aliens.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
We got a crap ton of aliens and hell, the
was it the little eye thing that probably was the
most creepiest part about Alien Earth and the thing that
had everybody coming back and it.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Was not a bad show.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
And I still was there for a xenomorph because the
moment things hit the fan, you were like, hell, it's
going down now, I gotta see.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
What happens, and it just.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
The Xenomorphrano Muk and we saw what the turnout was.
We're getting the season two. I'm super happy.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Let's let's let's finish this ride. I feel like it's
really that simple.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Right For for a society that is so up in
arms and has major complaints towards billionaires and people of
such you know, high wealth, you think they would love
what they're doing with Alien Earth and some of it
because they're the true villains happening in these shows, you know, like, yes, intriguing.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
I wanted the boy wondered to I wanted him going
immediately when I started. When he started showing more what
he was doing, I said, Oh, this guy's an asshole. Yeah, no,
second season Alien Earth, give it to me yet, you
have my attention, Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Yeah, I think the whole you know, Trackingberg better be
writing another movie right now. Uh yeah, I'll have to.
I'll have to jump on that show now that I'm
thinking about it. How's it going. I got one more
story for you. This this kind of is is pop
culture related. So how many guys collect Funko pops?

Speaker 2 (21:57):
I got a few?

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Okay, I think everybody kind of has a few, right, Yeah, Well,
it seems like we're not buying enough now. Well, so,
most recently there was a disclosure by Funko that their
financial losses paint a dire picture for the future of

(22:21):
the company, So there there is a huge possibility about
that within the next twelve months they will no longer
be operational and are going bankrupt.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
What you know, Pops is one of those companies that
they overproduced, and it's it's a concept. It's the concept
of just because you can doesn't mean you should. And
they've got a lot of that with all these different
variance ones. I mean, you could get your own Funko

(22:54):
and that was kind of cool. But just for every
property they could get their fingers on, they were making
these things, just pumping them out.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Oh yeah, it's like shot themselves.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
You walk through like a game stop or even an
f ye if if you can find one of those, uh,
you'll see like a bunch of bunk back like oh
f Spider Man.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
There's there's there's X men.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
What is this?

Speaker 3 (23:16):
I don't and you see like a whole bunch when
you're like, I don't even know what this is, and
I might even talking about like anime. I'm just talking
about like some random and you're like, I guess it
looks cool.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
But they can't be cheap to produce, right, Like you
get the base model, but then all of the after
effects and colors and everything is where the money comes from.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Right, Yeah, I mean every everything will have its own mold.
I mean they they still have to make a mold
for everything. Yeah, but I mean there's they're super well,
they're not super cheap. I'm not going to say they're
super cheap for what they are.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
They're affordable.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
They're affordable, they're cool, they're you know, the little little
inside baseball. I want to say, you're looking at like
four or five dollars cost on those, and then they
this is one of the things. So the value of them,

(24:15):
I think they're selling for maybe like eleven or twelve
dollars now. I think at one point they might have
been ten, but they've gone up, so really going to
like a fifty percent mark or a one hundred percent
markup on them. So you're making a pretty decent profit
as a seller. And then you know, obviously you have
the chases, and if you really want to mess around
with a lot of that stuff, they could be very

(24:37):
very expensive on the secondary market. And that's kind of
where that stuff blew up. People discovered, hey, I can
make some money off of these things, and then that's
when the rush came of We're going to get every
single property out there. Yeah, Like the it said something
about like their loans were like super out of hand,

(24:58):
so I guess they even took in a lot of loans.
They were drowning. And they just give you a little
financial information. So the second quarter of twenty twenty five
they lost forty one million dollars.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
That's not a small.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Number, right, right, and the third the third quarter they
lost one million dollars, so they kind of but they
didn't make a profit the year.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
No problem, just not blatant as bad.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Right. Overall revenue also is taking the significant hit, So
it was like, I guess these are last year versus
this year during the same time, two hundred and ninety
three million, and now it's at two hundred and fifty million.
So they lost. Now this could be always attributed to

(25:48):
tariffs and you know all that wonderful stuff, which you know,
people aren't buying this stuff as much. But again they
they they oversaturated the company. There there's a potential for
selling the company also right now they're considering that. Yeah,
this is.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
The seventy seven million pops they've already printed included in
the deal.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Who knows, I'm sitting on so many like I have,
I have to load them to somebody that's just doing massive.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
I'm curious about that, And I think you answered the
question I was going to ask you about as far
as like with like resale costs, like resale value would
be for them, but uh, like to save to save
the business itself. Why don't they just like stop making
everything no one asked for and just like like you just.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
Like some somewhere asked for it.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Yeah, yeah, but like the number of people that asked
for this one thing, you know what I mean? Like, like,
for instance, right as an anime person, I would probably
right now be focused on something that's current. If I
walk in, I see Ranma one one third or run
and a half, Like I don't. I don't really want

(27:06):
that fun copop.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
I want.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
I want something that's like close to solo leveling or
something like that right now currently, Because that's what.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
You're speaking French to me talking about it.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
I was talking about when he says about a little leveling.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
But maybe I can make this a little easier on
everyone's mind. So what you're you're kind of talking about
is they're making one version of of the item, and
then you know, they're making another one with a slight
difference to it. Yes, the same thing they're doing with like, uh,

(27:42):
you know you have a spider Man movie, they make
them for that spider Man movie. Two years later another
Spider Man movie comes out there, making it for that movie.
I mean that's what they're doing, doing it for every show,
every everything, stranger things like.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
You know what it's actually good for. They're good for,
Like when you're on the way to our birthday party
to get them a present and you're like, oh, hey,
they're here's something they like. Out of this category, I'll
find something they like.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Yeah, but then you got to make sure it's somebody
that either appreciates said ip that you're you're buying a
fungo pop up or it's like a child, you know
what I mean, but likes as fun as they gotta
stop shooting theirselves in the foot, because.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
You know, they started doing the giant ones, which are
kind of.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Cool, but I have at one.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
And they started doing the little mini guys, which are also
kind of cool, but really with the little playset things too,
I mean it's like, didn't they do like polypockets or something.
It's like the same size, same thing. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
But and this is my thing about them, Why don't
they because I think I think they've devalued their their
own product by making so much and not having any
true collected collector's items out of it.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Yeah, one one chase of boxes.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Yeah, Like, at this point, just stop making everything.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Get deals with like something that's mainstay NFL, NBA, UH, baseball, soccer,
something like that. You know there there's there's more likely
a return of return of interest on like, but when
you're making a whole bunch of stuff that nobody, I
don't say nobody cares about. But if I can't find

(29:30):
a thing that I care about, if you made it,
it's somewhere else, I'm not gonna buy it.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
I'm sorry. There's a statement in the article that I
pulled this from the stating that they're putting a lot
of effort into their K Pop Demon Hunter's line because
they're one of the only few companies out there that
has a license agreement for it, so they're they're betting
their holiday season on that.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
I listen, I have not watched K Pop Demon Hunters,
but I've been hearing so much about it.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
It could be it could be planet Yeah, it could
save them.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
I mean, for instance, look at what what what Final
Fantasy did for Magic that's that was a crazy like
boost to their capital, Like just off of one I
P alone, they made how much was it?

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Lan?

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Like how many millions? Like a like.

Speaker 4 (30:25):
They made two million in a day or something like that.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
In a day.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
And we're not going stunt like Final Fantasy is something
new that things that's been around forever.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
I'm grumpy old man when it comes to a lot
of those magic the universes.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
So but.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
You're good a cloud.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
But yeah, they got a chill.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
They got a chill just seeing if anything new cross
the wire and nothing, nothing new, nothing that we need
to talk about new.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
The third hand recant of the doomsday trailer.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
Oh yeah, did you guys? We were radio silent for
about two weeks on.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
So someone saw the trailer and then described the trailer,
and so it was they said that that in this
doomsday trailer, we're getting a lot of doom, right, a
lot of them. And you touched on earlier that there's
going to be a female variant of doom also being
in there. The they're describing doom as a lawn Chinese

(31:52):
like hideaway Phantom of the Opera like don't look at me,
I'm hideous type and uh, and that's that's exciting kind
of that somber vibe.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Yeah, you know what that that is Doom in a nutshell,
except if if challenged, I think he will show his
face like he I don't think he has a real
problem showing his face.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
It's and it's funny. There's a there is there is
a panel in I'm trying to remember which which actual book.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
It was in, but he's he's having a meal with
with Codain and the Barbarian and Codan pretty much goes like, uh,
you got sho your face cover?

Speaker 2 (32:35):
What's going on?

Speaker 3 (32:36):
You're scared ugly or something. He says something to him,
and then Doom takes the mask off. Dune says something
to him, and then Codan pretty much says, oh, so
you're vain.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
And then Doom takes his mask off and shows him
his face and then puts the mask back on.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
So I think it's.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Just it's it's it's it's his own pride or vanity
like like like we we said that that he keeps
the mask going when because he absolutely has no problem
pulling off to show people. Listen, you're not going to
like play me out of my out of my name, Like.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
It's like a top of a graph of Utah. But
any news is good news for that movie.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Uh that it wasn't. Just like there's multiple trailers to
basically get us off the scent of what the true
story of this.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
So there's so many rumors, so many rumors.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
And we're supposed to We're supposed to get one very soon.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
The trailer yeah for yeah for on Avatar Fire and
I were supposed to get it. So now I have
to go see a movie I don't want to see.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Stay for the movie Avatar.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
It depends on what the Avatar are we talking about,
But it's definitely.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
I mean, I don't there's no really comparing the two,
but honestly, like Avatar is visually stunning, yes, and nothing else.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Yeah, dude, it's it's like Pocahontas.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
And then somebody just told me not too long ago,
the second one was Dancing with Wolves, and I was like,
you know.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
What it is yet, Feralie, you got it on Wolves Masterpiece.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
But you know what, I'll watch it. I'll watch it,
but I'm mostly going for the trailer.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
I'm not even gonna cap I'm going for the trailer,
but I watch Avatar.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
The only way you go to see Avatar in the
theater is you got to get that super Imax extra,
like the most luxury you can get, and then you're.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Got sixty package.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
Yeah, we want the discount ticket. I want the one
that like they show like in the other room.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
I might have to become an AMC stub Hub member
to for some type of discount on that.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
I don't know, man, AMC stub Hub.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
All right, I think that pretty much sums it up,
unless you have some lurking story that you didn't.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
No books lately, listen, I'm I'm I'm reserving my my
reviews for books because i am I'm currently trying to
go through this book of Revelations with X Men.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
By the way, if anybody else is.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Reading that out there in the ethers, let me know,
drop drop a comment please.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
I think I read the first one. Is that the
it's it's a character. Oh man, it's a goofy character.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
What Doug is that his name? Yeah, his name is
Doug Ramsey. That's that's there.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
You can actually is and it's funny because to understand
how how the our Age of Revelation comes to be,
you would have had to read a little bit of
of the Krakoa era of X Men, because some of this, well,
it stems mostly from the Air of Apocalypse storyline that
happened in the middle of that. So and honestly, that

(36:22):
was that was pretty dope. I didn't even think that that,
uh Doug was going to be the Ara of apocalyps
because he's not. He's not who you would expect as
far as like the the standard only the strong will
survive code by apocalypse, He's he doesn't necessarily fit that.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
But it's amazing how how some of this comes together.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
But another time, I will definitely drop on a full
review for that for anybody's interests.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
I'll have it coming.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
I'm just trying to get through it and and and
and make sure I got all the pieces right.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
And then I read that the Marvel Captain Marvel book,
and then like it was just like oh hey, Jean,
oh sorry about that. And then Jean's like, haha, psych,
I'm never gonna die.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Fantastic, all right, all right, I'm reading j Joe. That's
about it.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Have they been cooking lately.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
No, it's always good. Treadnock wars Man. We're all, we're good.
We won't talk about that this time. We are. We're
gonna we were gonna shut this thing down. Ah, I
guess all you want me to do with their features.
