Speaker 1 (00:01):
That comic podcaster.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Hello, welcome to that com of podcast time he spent
and with me my wonderful side kicks.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
First, mister Masco, what's up everybody?
Speaker 4 (00:20):
Lancelot from time to time, als time to time, and
baby hue.
Speaker 5 (00:26):
O, what's going on? Oh hi Hi, oh hi, everybody.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Well, I think it's about time that we catch back
up with Peacemaker because I don't know about everybody here,
but episode six is wild and deserves our attention.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
So big old spoiler alert.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
From this point on, there is no way in hell
that I can recap this without ruining that show.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
So if you're not caught up, go watch that first,
then come back. This is your warning.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
And now I know why it wasn't released early to
the media.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
That's right, although the is the sluice on the internet
called that like episode two.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
It was amazing.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
I've seen so many interviews with the cast of everyone
going so it's it's Earth X and everybody's racist, right,
and the cast was yeah, huh, well is that something
from the comics. That's a what an idea?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Good for them?
Speaker 4 (01:18):
They all did a really good job of dancing around
the subject. But the internet called this one pretty quick
but I'll tell you, even though the Internet called it,
it was still seat squirmy, we'll call it.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
It was still uncomfortable that when that moment happened.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Oh my gosh, was it ever? It just the vibes
that chill.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
It's just oh in the way that they handled it too.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
For anybody who doesn't care about spoilers, I guess we
should at least say the thing that we're talking about,
and then we'll we'll backtrack to the cameo, because as
cool as the cameo was, I still think the end
of the episode was was way more shocking. So towards
the end of the episode, as we've all noticed, when
anytime Peacemaker goes into that alter at universe, there are
no people.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Of color anywhere.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
It is Wade mcwhiteville, every single place that he goes to.
So have the Internet noticed that real quick? Peacemaker has
never noticed it. But of course when Hardcore showed up,
seeing as how she's much better at noticing details, she.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Was able to pull that pretty quick.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
And then we get our confirmation by the flag being shown.
And sure enough, what's on that flag a symbol that
I don't know if YouTube likes us saying.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
I don't know how that works, but you've seen it before.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
It's been co opted by terrible people, and yeah, every
time it's shown, people have big feelings.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
And I was shocked that they showed it. I was shocked.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
But it does confirm Earth X, which is where the
Nazis win and it is a terrible, terrible place.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
So we've seen this before.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
By the way, this is also in Small or Not
Small Villa, the Arrow Verse. We had the Earth X
crossover where we saw the versions of Arrow and Supergirls
show up.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Didn't somebody else do it too? Yes, as well the
X Men I mean wrong Universe, but I mean Earth
X Men. Yeah, I would be terrified of meeting men.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
But yeah, so this is this is definitely a world
you don't want to be. And regardless on whether or
not Peacemaker found his piece there, it was interrupted real
fast with the realization that this is definitely a white
supremacist uh nation. I mean, I think that's the best
(03:44):
way to to say it.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
For this show.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
What's going on beyond the borders.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Right, But yeah, this is it was It was definitely
called but still shocking when it happened.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I do cannot wait for episode seven.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
I do like the foreshadowing from the intro dance. Like
the first season we got the kind of butterfly dance
and that was kind of undercover, and now we got
a very specific dance in this second season intro, and
now that it's come to light, people are kind of
(04:20):
scared running away.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Well, I thought in Moscow, wasn't it just you said?
Or was it Hue? Somebody just told us right before
we started recording the show that Fortnite.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yeah, actually I think maybe Lance brought it up. But yes,
in Fortnite, I don't play it. I played it maybe
once or twice, but they have the emotes with the
people dancing, and each each you can designate. You can
purchase and then designate your avatar or whatever to do
that dance. Well, one of the dances was peacemaker moving
(04:53):
into arms up and down, and when you stop it,
it definitely looks like a I don't know if again,
if it's I can say on here, but that's uh so.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
So I'm going to get.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
The folks at Fortnite shut that down. And I guess
they're offering refunds back to anybody.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
The boy so like like James gunn everyone kind of
knew that was the subtext, you know, shooting the show
as the cast and everything, and they still said, yeah,
let's see how long Fortnite keeps this.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
You know, that's a fair point. That's so funny.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
They were just like, right, I mean, for all the
crazy stuff that he lets out just in random tweets,
the fact that that was able to not get out,
and that went along with the not giving the last
three episodes to anybody, right, I get why.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Now that changed the future of this show. And I
love the situation that.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
It puts Peacemaker in.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Yeah, I love the the fact that he was so
blinded by happiness to see his brother that he he
couldn't he couldn't see the forest through the trees, and
and it's so it's so blatant when you think back
to all the episodes, which is why people were able
to call it out so quickly. But they do such
a good job of framing things to make sure it's
(06:16):
just not even present in your head, because you're more
concerned with the family dynamic and how happy the cop
plete Peacemaker, plus the torment that he's going through in
the in the normal universe and kind of like almost
understanding why he would want to do it. Then all
of a sudden you meet Vigilante uh Vigilante Earth X,
and you're like, whoa, well that changes things quite a bit.
(06:39):
That changes things dramatically.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
Which we know Spider Man is canon in uh.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Well that hey, DC Comics is canon to the MCU.
Sure you know Superman's canon? Yeah, so uh yeah, wild
twists for the show. Regardless of whether or not it
was called, it was still shocking when it happened.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
But so was the cameo.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
Yeah, the cameo was pretty good too, because I was
pretty sure it was going to be Superman and it
might still be Superman, but yeah, he lex was really good.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Gun is stating that Superman is not in this, but
you know that's that's what he.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Said it I heard David Cornsweat was upset that he's
not in it, right, But what's.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
The easiest way to.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Have people not anticipate that happening and then it happens.
It's not going to happen, you know, pull what Tom
Holland or.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
Hey, this is this is only this the third DCU entry.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
We don't want to go down that rabbit hole yet.
Of liars.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Wasn't Marvel gonna get sued for that for false advertising
in their ads.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
With Infinity War with with.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Oh yeah and Thor Thor Ragnarok when he was yeah, yeah,
they have they have a habit of doing that in
the trailers.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
It was cool. Uh you know James Gun talking about
that cameo that happened at the end of this last episode.
I guess they filmed it during.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Superman Oh wow. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
They just kind of took him to a room and
it was like, here, we're going to record this scene.
And apparently Nicholas Hole was just a completely different vibe
because it changed to the tone of the show rather
than the Superman movie. And Gun was just donned by
how well he was he was able to just do
adapt to that tone so quickly.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Look here, let's say foot button was that was definitely
that was definitely a shocker or wasn't wasn't expecting that?
So hearing who I just saw come off of Superman
movie to be flagrantly cursing definitely does a good job
of showing the way that James.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Gunn plans on handling. I like how we just never
call him James. He has to be James Gunn.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Yeah, you have to use both names. James gun Yeah,
athlete has three syllables.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
That's amazing.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
It looks like my girlfriend uses to call his brother
yea his name. He's whatever character he played in Gilmore
Girls or something.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
I know from the raw podcast. Who from the Office.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Isn't he Roy Pam's original.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
The brother is about James. He was talking about James
Gunn's brother. Yeah, yeah, he's one from the Seawan gun
No question.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
He's also the dad or step dad in the Power
Rangers movie.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
He was right, I forgot about that.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah, he's done other things.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
So yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
The lex cameo is great. I mean, it is part
for the course.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
It's exactly what you would expect it is, and it
doesn't really do much besides just be a cameo. But
it does act as the mcguffin to allow the story
to keep moving.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
That's all it was. It was.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
It was a really funny way to keep the plot moving. Yes,
it's great, Oh I have this.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
You know what? It felt like?
Speaker 4 (10:04):
It felt like Cisco and the CW Flash, except for cursing,
where he was like, I made this.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
What was that you said?
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Cisco?
Speaker 5 (10:13):
I went the song wrong.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Cisco, but it does.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
It did feel like a CW show where they were like, oh,
you need the ProTron accelerator, tractor beam. I made seven,
let me grab the one over here. I was just
working on that's it felt like, yeah, but it's Lex
and I get it. And the cameo was funny, so
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yeah, I don't care. You're still great.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
It made the last the next two, the last two
I guess of the season be extreme appointment viewing.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Well, we're supposed to get one more big cameo.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Yeah, I don't know who that's gonna be yet, but
we're supposed to get one.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
It's gotta be Superman, but it may not be our Superman.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
I've been hearing also Rick Flagg Junior from Earth.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yeah, as what's his name? The they're going to have
him turned into a hero. Is it the Atom?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Oh really?
Speaker 4 (11:07):
Oh no, no, no Captain Adam. Yes, I heard that
that they would bring him back as Captain Adam.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
I mean people are hoping for g I Robot, but.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yes, said my.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
God, if you could you imagine just letting g I
Robot loose in that world?
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Yeah, Well, the rumor is if it is.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
So much it would be in that universe.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah, I think he did confirm that there will be
a live action g I Robot.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Hal Jordan actually has some Yes, live action GI Robot
is going to be incredible. And I gotta go back
to what Moscow just slightly whispered, how Jordan would be
a phenomenal idea moving into lanterns after this, that's a
great idea.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
They might just slide right into set up lanterns.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Yeah, I think that's even having even like there you say,
like we're gonna call in a lantern and you're expecting
Guy and then all of a sudden Hal shows up.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
M it's not a bad ide.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Robot way more fun.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
Gun said there will be a live action It's just
not gonna be a peacemaker.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
So I do want a peacemaker. If he just gives
us a show. Could you imagine it's just heaven for
g I Robot.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
That would be right, that's actually a good point.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yes, what I mean, like, how blood would that be?
Just to go you know what, just go through that door.
Just go through that door and have a blast. Just
have as much fun as you can have. Come back
when you finish.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Have Gun well travel you know, it makes sense because
with Creature Commandos you got Flag who worked with them already.
It makes sense.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
I love it. It's not gonna happen in this but
I love it.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
I hope so much, so.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Much, or just Future Commandos season two, just give us,
that's just give it a post credit anything. I don't
care what it is. But the concept of that is
just so funny. Of him being in heaven because he's
in Nazi world. God that man. Yeah, the gi Robot
in that situation would be hysterical. That would be what
(13:14):
a good show. I mean the first season was great,
don't get me wrong, but this second season is definitely shaping.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Up to be way more memorable than the first season was.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
You take out the because honestly, the butterflies, eh, I mean,
it's cool, it was funny.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
I liked it.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
But you really think more about Eagerly and Vigilante and
You and the cameos at the end more than you
think about the actual plot of that first season. This
second season, the plot is such an important aspect to it.
It's i'd a more important than funny characters.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
I feel like the first part of the first season
captured me more than the last part of the first season,
and it's backwards for season two. For me, the first
part of this season, I was like, Okay, I'll watch it,
and as it gets close to to the end, I'm like,
I need more right now, dude.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
The acting is so good. I mean part of the
James Gus's wife, right, who plays hardcore?
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Yes, and it's hardcore, hard hard.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
I've been saying hardcore.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
No, I know that was a joke.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Then oh oh.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
She got that scene where she's crying but doesn't want
to look at him, and it just says, just says,
are you coming or not?
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Man?
Speaker 4 (14:29):
She doesn't say much, but the way she portrays that scene,
how she just doesn't want to admit to it, but
she still is like I love you. Come Home is
so well done. And if you haven't seen James Gunn
talk about that recently in an interview, he cries just
talking about that scene, and I can see why because
not only does his wife do an outstanding job, but
it's so well written, like when he's like when she
(14:51):
says I'm a mess and he goes, I don't care,
I still love you. That whole part of that that show.
That's what makes these moments like the flag at the end, Yes,
very shocking, the yes, very shocking, very fun. But it
was those moments that will keep me coming back, and
it's those moments that will make a season three.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Part of the show so much.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Yes, yes, that's why his writing is so good.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Very much so so.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Yeah, it's man, the DCU three in a row, three
in a row.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
We were right to be optimistic.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yes, and I have a hell of a reason to
stay excited.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
If you think you know clay Face, you're like, oh Jesus,
but you know now, I'm super stoked for clay Face.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yeah, James, kudos.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
I think done is right in the way he's doing
things with you know, we're going to make sure the
script's good first before we do anything else.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
All the stuff Jereba, he apparently he had.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
He won't mention who it is, but he had like
two big actors and a big director tied onto a
project that got canceled. I bet you it was the authority,
because remember that's how it was supposed to start. But
he said the script is just bad, so we scrapped it.
I was like, yeah, good for you, man, good for you,
because apparently they're still working on Doomsday.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
The script is still being.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
So Hey, it's a different approach, but I think it's
a stronger approach because man, does it does everything feels
like it hits harder.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
Yeah. Yeah, Look, he's taking what he learned at Marvel
and is correcting what didn't work and making it work
at DC.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
And I'm here for it.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Yeah, I'm here for it. Yeah, absolutely, all.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Right, Well wrap it up, yep, I think I think
it's time to finish this. So, uh, you can find
a show with that kind of podcast everywhere line, it's
that kind of podcast, your social media choice.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
I'm gonna just stop doing that because honestly, yes they did.
Go to YouTube.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
That's where we need to support. Go to YouTube, go
ahead and hit subscribe, like and comment on the video.
We need a lot of that right now. YouTube is
our main focus, on our main goal. As much as
we have enjoyed being a audio only podcast for ever,
video is the way we want to move this forward,
and we seem to be getting decent traction, especially on
the short So for everybody who's been tuning in for
that stuff, for all the the support we've been given already,
(17:10):
it means a lot, So thank you.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Very much.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
And if you wouldn't mind, if you see a short
that you like, go back to YouTube and try and
find the long form of it. Give that check the
whole thing out, because we do want to make sure
that this aspect of the show grows. So if you
appreciate what we're trying to do and you like the
banter head over there, hit the bell, do all the
things that ever YouTuber always tells you to do, what's
good on MENTI.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
And Lance I'm Hue.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Check us out. So one of these.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Days we got got like some kind of a schedule
because we're just like you guys, So it's so outside
of what we're so used to everyone.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
I had people at work today going, so when do
you put new shows out? Now?
Speaker 5 (17:52):
What what was the last time?
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Check all
Speaker 1 (18:00):
That that that's not
