Speaker 1 (00:01):
Bad Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Hello, welcome to that com of podcast. I'm your host
MENTI and with me is always my wonderful syde ICs. First,
mister Moscow, Hey can I kick it? Hey? Mos Covid,
how are you?

Speaker 3 (00:19):
I'm good you do hah?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
It still exists.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
You you did, you found out for the rest of us.
So Moscow has been quietly battling Covid on all the shows.
You might have seen his face, and that's the reason
he hasn't been speaking, because he's been muting his microphone.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Take some vitamins, go work out, you'll be fine, all right.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Well, then on that wonderful advice we have pee features
Hello Internet. And then there's mister Rob j lah Blah Cyclope.
That's fair man, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
That's fair.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
He hasn't done anything to make me think otherwise. My
favorite thing about the show, especially when you two are
on there, is hoping that Cyclops does something to make
me side with one of you. But my default is
that he sucks.

Speaker 5 (01:04):
It isn't an opportunity to show up, But then he
doesn't because he's off doing something.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Lane.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
That's also true. And speaking of lame baby, Hwie, I'm
sorry it was just right there. It was just right there.
It was just a sorry, keep you fair, hey there
it is. That's fair. That's a callback for the ages.
That's fair, all right. So today is going to be
a little bit of a different show, and actually, let's
just be upfront and honest. Every show moving forward's gonna

(01:30):
be a little different, and that's because we are going
to make some changes here at that comic podcast. And
for those of you who are a long time fired,
that's true. I'm out for any of you who are
longtime fans of the show, and remember the fireside days.
You would remember that we used to do two shows
a week. We used to do two thirty minute shows,
and that was because we really wanted to stay more current.

(01:54):
But over the years we kind of focused more on
long form content and on a much longer podcast. And
even when we didn't want it to be a long
form content, mister, I don't feel like talking is talking
a lot. I've a headache, thank you for Phillius. In So,
the hour and a half to two hour podcasts that

(02:16):
we were doing by accident is not where it seems
like any of you seem to care. So as we
look at the metrics, and as we look at the numbers,
it seems as though video content is where you all
want us to be. So what we plan on doing
moving forward is focusing more on that, which we kind
of were before, but at the core of everything was

(02:37):
the long form audio podcast and it doesn't make sense
to keep pushing for that if it seems as though
you guys all like us and snippets more. And to
be fair, that's true, I like them all on snippets
more as well, so I don't blame yeah, I don't
blame it. So what that What does that mean? What
does that mean moving forward? Well, that means is instead

(03:00):
of Wednesday being an hour and a half to two
hour podcast and us than trying to make content around that,
we're going to focus heavily on YouTube, making shorter form
content that's about fifteen minutes to thirty minutes twice a week,
with content that's a lot more relevant than what you're
used to. We're usually a week to a week and
a half late on breaking news because we always release

(03:21):
on Wednesday. We always record on Monday or Sunday sometimes,
so that means that by the time we actually start
talking about something, even when it's relevant, we're a week late,
so to combat that and to become more current, to
make sure that you're all up to date. So around
the water Coore, you've got all the interesting things to say,
and we can give you all your opinions and tidbits.
That's the plan moving forward, which I believe is not

(03:43):
only going to be helpful for us, but I also
think that you're going to get a lot more content
than you're used to as specifically seeing all of our
well some of our handsome monks. I'm really just talking
about features. Sorry, no, you're with the result us, buddy.
They're beautiful as well on the inside. It's true. So yes,

(04:07):
moving forward, So this is probably the last kind of
longer form show that you're you're gonna get with us
for a little bit. We might go back to it
later on, but this is something that we want to
try for a while. So this is all up in
the air, and that means that feedback is going to
be important. So feel free let us know what you're thinking.
If you missed the long form audio, let us know
if you like the new content or if you would

(04:27):
like to see something more from us. I've heard some
people say they miss games that's something that we could
bring back in shorter form on YouTube. If that's something
you're interested in. Fireside Fight Club, remember that was a
big one we had. We had Fusion, we had the
fusion was a fun one, so we had some games
that we could bring back into it. There's interesting ways
that we can move to more of a video centric show.

(04:48):
So it's still that comic podcast, it's just going to
be shorter and more often.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
One thing to add, we absolutely want to start doing
live shows at some point, yes, but we need people
to interact with us. So if you're doing that, if
you're not doing that, do it now. In anything we post,
put up comments, ask questions there, we'll answer those on
the show, and then hopefully we'll get to a point
where we'll have enough people who will join us for

(05:15):
those live shows where we can interact.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Essentially, I think the idea is after a couple of
maybe a month or so of getting used to the
shorter format, start doing those shows live. Now they might
only be fifteen minutes to thirty minutes, sometimes forty five
depending on if the conversation is sparkling, but the goal
is that you have more access to interact while we're

(05:38):
actually creating the content and ask questions that are important
to you, not a week and a half later, but
right when it's happening. So that's the idea because even
right now we're going to talk about some stuff here
on a Monday for us, that's going to come out
on a Wednesday. But the video that we were going
to talk about came out three days ago, and we're

(06:00):
going to be pretty late on this stuff. Not for us,
we weren't. We were pretty on time. You guys were
late because we decided not to release the content.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Well, we typically find as all the good juicy stuff
happens on Thursday and Friday, and we don't get around
till talking about it on Monday, and then it goes
up on Wednesdays.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
And then the comic news always happens to drop Tuesday
after we've recorded, And.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Yeah, so what does that mean. That also means that
the comic reviews might get a little shorter moving forward,
because again the analytics say that you guys don't care
as much about the comics. So if that's not true,
let us know. The nice thing is is that everybody
who's listening to this right now, everyone who fuck excuse me.
Everybody who's watching also has the ability to change this.

(06:44):
We are adapting to what we believe people want to see.
So if you are one of those people who want
to see something specific that you're not getting from us,
if you let us know, we will adapt, we will
add it. I don't know if everyone is aware of
our uh her law standing internet relationships here, but we
have changed this show several times to try and meet

(07:07):
you all where you are. It's why part of the
reason why we're doing video now. I mean that's you
go back to Fireside, there was some video, but not many,
but now we are producing video at a pretty rapid
rate and we want to up that. So that's moving forward.
Let us know what you think, please, that's a big
part of this. We're gonna need feedback to adjust and
change as we grow and adapt, because there's gonna be

(07:29):
bumps in the roads. But hopefully you all will like
the fact that we again we'll have two longer I
should say longer to somewhat long form content from fifteen
to thirty minutes, a bunch more shorts, as well as
interviews and other things that happen that's breaking sporadically throughout,
so there's no set schedule as much anymore. It's really

(07:52):
smash that button and subscribe. I got to do that now. Yeah, no,
I gotta do that now.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
S'cually more important.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah important now that you actually.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Fell to because you'll get those notifications when something is
either premiering or has posts did posted.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Yeah, we got to do it, and the like the
if you like seeing our faces watch all right, let's go.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Not faking it to make it. I'm just being myself,
So just hit that damn button.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Well you'll get all the realness from Moscow, but don't
trust me. All right, let's move over to the actual
meat of today's episode, and that is going to be
first off, what's been going on with Spider Man, not
just the weird little marketing video that we got, but
a lot of other set photos and leaks that just

(08:43):
came out. Plus we've got the Gina Carano lawsuit that
it seems to come to an interesting end. I think
that's the best way to word it. And then, you know,
since we've already said it twice, Paul, that's all you know.
I don't know what that means. We'll talk about that
a little bit we'll move. We'll get over there in
a little bit, but first, let's talk about Spider Man

(09:06):
for a brand new day, Day one. James Gunn his
influence on Spider Man is pretty crazy. Change the games there, change.
I like what they're.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Doing so much, so much.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Yeah, it works specifically.

Speaker 6 (09:21):
I think for Spider Man it just like it did
for Superman because he Spider Man is your friendly neighborhood,
so it makes sense for him to be out amongst
the people. And this effort by Sony Slash Marvel was phenomenal.
And I think all those people that were there weren't
even extras, they were just the actual people.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Oh No, he made a whole big deal about that. Hell,
we talked about it before. I mean there was thousands
of people lined up on the sets.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Oh, that was it.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
I was just saying that, that's so freaking cool that
you see that out there, that human interaction from the movie.
It gives it a little bit of soul that was
kind of missing.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
It for Oh. They made sure to make sure that
was up front and present. When Tom Allens snagged that
little kid over the guardrail, did all the Spider Man
poses with him, and it just made me think of
Superman giving high fives to a bunch of kids on
the set of Superman. I mean here, And another thing
to consider is they didn't didn't they just announce the
whole making of series is going away, like they're no

(10:22):
longer going to do that anymore. Yeah, no one was
watching it, who cares. But using the actual creation of
the movie or all that footage you gather, because they're
not gonna stop filming it, They're they're still going to
gain all that stuff because I'm sure they'll make some
you know, MCUs eightieth anniversary or whatever. But using that

(10:44):
for marketing is brilliant, and that'll keep people excited all
the way up until release instead of just tidbits happening
from time to time up until release. In the trailer,
I mean, it's gonna keep people engaged and honestly retain
that feeling they have for for Spider Man specifically, m.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
I like to move again because how it does that
in the effort of there were gonna be people that
were there.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
The idea is like, oh, I was.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
In this film at this point, this part, So when
they go see the film, they're going to grab their
friends and go with them, like look, you might see me.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
See I don't think that's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
That's not gonna happen. They didn't. They didn't shoot the
people on the side.

Speaker 7 (11:28):
Whoa No, did they call the police?

Speaker 2 (11:34):
No? They all of the people who were lined up,
they I guarantee you the camera's not focusing on them.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
No. Yeah. If you saw some of the shots, like
where they were, where the barricades were, like halfway down
the side street, that's where everybody was kind of at
So I'm sure he, you know, kind of just moved
around a little bit. What I do look like is
Tom doesn't look like a little boy in any of
these pictures.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
No, he put on some weight, so he grew up.
Yeah did you see that? I forget who sent it.
One of you guys send it to me. The the
evolution of his logo. Yeah, yeah, I don't know how
true that is, but I love it. The idea For
anybody who didn't see it, well, yeah, it's not did
Marvel say that?

Speaker 4 (12:15):
Well, Well, if you go back and look, every every
movie has been a different logo.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Oh no, I agree with what you sent us. I'll
explain it to you on a second. I'll let me
finish arguing with the baby here. But my point is
that Marvel themselves didn't say this is why we changed
his logo, right, oh no, no, no, right, okay, So for
those who are unaware of what we're referring to, and
why would you, because we didn't actually say it. The
original logo they had for Civil War, when he had

(12:40):
a practical costume, had this like bulbous bottom to the logo. Right,
it was just like, yeah, yeah, they called it the
egg in the video or the photo, and we can
make sure that this is up on this our social
or something for you guys to see it. But then
the next logo was a baby spider, where it had
like it was much more angular. It was, it was
less menacing looking. It was definitely more childish. Then it

(13:01):
moves into Far from Home, where the same logo gets
a little bit larger, right takes takes up a bit
more space, and then all of a sudden, no Way
Homes logo has more of a rackned feel to it,
and it's got like sharper edges and points to it
instead of the you know, the flat legs that the
original logos had. And now you've got this brand new
day logo that is much more of a large spider

(13:23):
like we've seen on Toby and on Andrew suits. So
the idea is that there was this evolution of Spider
Man becoming Spider Man opposed to Iron Boy from early
MCU and I don't know if that's true, but I'm
gonna just take it as it is. It's like the
Ninja Turtles why they got their weapons fan theory. No
one said that's true, but I'm going with it. That's true,

(13:46):
that's canon. I don't care what you say. Head cannon, baby,
that's what it is. Sometimes say cannon's is all it's needed.
Head cannon is sanity in a world we live in.
That's how you get through Star Wars. What did you
guys think about the the Matt Gargan rumors? Have you
heard about that? About the who's the guy who played Scorpion?

(14:08):
Michael Man Michael Mando recently posted a picture on his
social media where he's focusing on where that scar was
that we saw at the end of No Way Home
or not No Way Home Homecoming. Yeah, and when he
was in the prison, you saw that scar on the
side of his face.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
But Scorpion, we're talking about this is a Scorpion.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Now he has a much more of a pronounced shade
of paste, a pasty white shade around his eye that
looks very similar to the Venom eye. And for those
of you who might not be aware, mac Argan play
it was Venom for a short period of time during
the Dark Rain series of Marvel books for Dark Avenger

(14:49):
or stuff like that, and he does. He is a
you know, a new Venom. That's what he is now.
So people love him. I didn't like him that much,
but I.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Know, Huet that's my favorite look for Venom hands down.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Now he's creepy because he has the black eyes within
the big white eyes. Yeah, so it kind of has
that spawn look to him almost. So he is creepy
and he's definitely much more of a villain. But it's
this rumor has some legs. I mean, we know Scorpion's
going to be in it, and we know that ever
since what was the animated show The Friendly Neighborhood Spider

(15:22):
Man where he had maybe the best episode. Oh yeah,
that Scorpion episode was incredible. So people who have been
clamoring for that, we've all wanted that that post credit
scene tied up, But there's also a much larger post
credit scene that, since Nole's probably not going to be
a thing, is a much bigger plot hole with the
Venom Symbia just sitting in there, with the Venom Symbia

(15:48):
just sitting in the MCU, not not doing anything if
Knowle's no longer going to be a part of it.
So you can tie that up with the barrage of
villains that we're getting in No way or in Brand
New Day by turning Scorpion towards the end into Venom. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I don't think it's bad. I don't think it's a
bad idea at all. I'm sure Sony hates it. Well,
we hate No, I don't hate Sony, I hate Oh yeah.
I mean he definitely is holding that like white scar
area around his face. So a lot of people are
saying that that is evidence that he is actually going

(16:25):
to portray Venom, which again makes sense if you're trying
to close plot threads before you reboot the universe. Right, Yeah,
so it makes lot.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
That sounds fun. Yeah, that sounds exciting. I like the
Easter Egg, but not for it being like blatant. Yes,
if you know you know.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Now, do you guys think there's too many cooks in
the kitchen? Too many villains have been announced for this
damn thing. Think about we got Boomerang, Beetles Stone, Tombstone, Uh,
we got Aucorpion, We've got now potentially Venom. We've got
Mister Negative, we have Punisher and Hulk.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
Just montage.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
If they montage.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Montage like Boomerang, a them might be like like Rhino
in Amazing Spider Man two.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Apparently there's a rhino head floating around on set too.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
I saw that too.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Wow, here's that logo the oh perfect. Yeah, see head cannon.
I'm into it. Eggsack, egg hatching baby Spider. Yeah, that's
that's that's what Moscow is going to refer to. Tom Holland.
Now moving forward, all of us say web webhead, he
says eggsack.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
But I like it.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
I think it's a cool way to look at Spider Man.
All right, let's move on. Let's because I feel like
there's nothing else to say. It's just Spider Man interacting
with fans. I did think it was funny with him
pulling the top of the tank up. Did you see
that he was trying to get into the tank and
they was obviously rubber, and he pulls the handle off
and he throws the handle away and he's still trying
to open it.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
We didn't talk about that because that's what mister negative negative.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Well, that's the the.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Well the something demon logo is on the side of it.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Yeah, that's what we We don't really know, but that
is the that's the rumor.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
There's a rumor floating around that mister negative is going
to corrupt Hulk, turn him back into the violent Hulk
and punishable behunding him, and that's how Spiderman is gonna
get involved in the whole thing. Great idea, it's.

Speaker 6 (18:30):
A great idea, but ah, is it one of Hulks?

Speaker 2 (18:36):
It's a great idea. But is it not? But is it?

Speaker 6 (18:40):
But I was I was meant to say, but isn't
one of Hulk's abilities like he has like this kind
of mental fortitude which allows him to not be able
to be corrupted by telepaths or taking control over by telepaths.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
It's extremely hard for the jumping to that being taken.
Ultron just manipulated. It's true, and c you we've already
seen that, but not even that all you have to
do is suppress Banner. Think about this, If Hulk and
Banner have merged and Hulk has an actual personality, Hulk's
personality has been dormant ever since smart hawks started.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Even better sit in the movie, they've understanding so emerging.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
So that means that dude's just been waiting in the wings,
probably not happy, right, which will also explain why he
recognizes Peter. Yeah, even though they've never actually met. But whatever,
that's a whole different story. They'll they'll tackle that in
the movie. But I do I do like that idea
of mister Negative being the reason that we get Savage

(19:41):
Hulk again, and that could lead into the forever rumored
World War Hulk that we've heard them talk about forever
for Disney Plus. They can't make the movie, but they
can make a special and do it on Disney Plus
and then have you know, write it out. Hulk take
on everybody, and honestly, you can bring the Sentry back,
have them beat each other to a standstill, and we'll
all roar.

Speaker 5 (20:01):
They didn't make an animated World War Hulk before, didn't
they animated?

Speaker 2 (20:06):
They did the planet planet.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
Whole planet planet right, and then versus.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Yes, Yeah, Hule Versus was so good. Yeah, that was
so good. The Thor fight is just hard to watch
it points you're just like, can you just stop hitting
Thor through a mountain?

Speaker 4 (20:22):
But the wolf the Wolverine.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Was the hilarious about the wolver But that's also because
at Deadpool Bank, just kidding.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
There was a couple of good animated Marvel movies, but
the DC ones at the time were just killing it.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Who am I to say no to a little murder
had so many Ah right, let's move on over to
Lucasfilm and Star Wars because this is going to probably
change things moving forward. So for those who are unaware,
Gina Carano, who played uh what was her name in Mandalorian.

Speaker 7 (20:58):
Ajax Carra Dude, car Dune and a standout might I
say car Dune was phenomenal If.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
You are unaware of why car Dune was no longer
in the show, it never referenced once again, even though
she was supposed to have her own show, as she
was fired pretty sporadically from Lucasfilm for a series of
tweets and Instagram posts and such comparing what was going
on with COVID to the Holocaust and that in that

(21:34):
she was being persecuted for right leaning beliefs, and she
then took that to court and it was paid for
by Elon Musk to make sure that she had enough
money to be able to fight Disney, because that's going
to cost a lot. But it never made it to court.
They settled and Disney settled. It didn't apologized, But that

(21:57):
was the closest thing to an apology I think I've
ever read it. Do we do? We have the actual
Lucas Film statement because things like we, uh, you know,
we're so happy that this is coming to an end
and that we plan on working together in the future.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Yeah, the Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to
announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Corano
to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies.
Miss Grano was always well respected by her director's co
stars and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her
craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect. With
the lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to

(22:37):
work together with mss Corano in the near future. That
was disney statement, and then her her follow up Krano's
follow up tweet was and the truth shall set you free.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
Well, I want to know what happened. Something had to happen.
Disney never bends the knee.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Well, I think that's because there was no choice. And
I think a lot of that was because and I
hate to say this because I've heard other people make
this claim and at first I didn't agree, And the
more I think about it, I kind of do that
Pedro Pascal probably had something to do with it, because
simultaneously he was posting a lot on his socials in
the very opposite direction, but nobody cared. Yeah, so when

(23:17):
she when he was talking, when she was talking about
mass mandates and stuff, and he was talking about how
important they were, and she was talking about you can't
tell me to wear a mask. Those are two different
sides of the aisle that you're not treating the same.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Now.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Do I think the tweets were dumb? Yes? Do I
think it was inopportune time to be making such comments,
one hundred percent? But is there a reason to lose
your job?

Speaker 4 (23:38):
No?

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Is you know, can can you post something stupid on
social media without out ruining your entire life? You should? Yeah? No,
we do all the time. To be fair, that's true.
So while I I, you know, the larger story around it,
I don't necessarily agree with. I also don't agree that
she should have ever lost her job, and I also

(23:59):
think that she was one of the best parts of
The Mandalorian. In generally agree her show would have been great,
and honestly, her getting fired is what made John Favreau
want to quit. John Favreau up phoned it in ever
since they got rid of her, because he had a
whole big plan that revolved around her show, where she
was supposed to go around the galaxy telling the different

(24:20):
planets what happened with Luke and the Emperor. So she
was supposed to try and sing the praises of the
New Republic and get people on the New Republic side,
which is a lot of what the comics are talking about,
is that they're struggling to reach some of the outer
planets and get them a part of the New Republic.
It would have been great to see that, and apparently
season four or season three of The Mandalorian had a
lot to do with the ramifications of that that they

(24:42):
had to change last minute. So it would not surprise
me if she gets a cameo in Mandalorian Grog. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Now keep in mind, there's a couple other bits of information.
It's not in the article I'm looking at. I heard
it somewhere. She was only allegedly she was only looking
for seventy five thousand dollar, which she was making twenty
five thousand dollars per episode she was, so she was
basically just looking for three episodes worth of money. Now,

(25:10):
the other thing is she's filth her family is filthy rich.
So this wasn't about money. Her family owns casinos. Wow,
money isn't a problem for her. A lot of this
was strictly principal, and you know the fact that she
had been, you know, really trying to break into more

(25:33):
acting roles, Like I mean, we we all have seen
what she did before that. I think she was in
like an Expendables film, Like this was really the first
big like thing that she was doing that actually was
getting some praise for her ability, and then all that
was just shut down.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Right, Yeah, yeah, Deadpool so great.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
The other thing is she she also stated that at
no point did she has she ever met Elon Musk
or talked to him.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Yeah, wild Yeah, thank you, mister muskin x even though
I've never met.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
You and.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
No and she look, I have never heard anyone say
anything bad about her who's actually met her. The only
people I hear say negative things about her or people
who have no idea what she's like, right.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
I mean that's typically everybody that gets a bad name
usually well.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
And the irony of being able to look at their
social media is to see if they said any stupid shit.
Is the funniest part about it all because you can
scroll through and go, yeah, you're posting a lot of
dumb stuff as well. I'm not saying you should lose
your job.

Speaker 6 (26:43):
Where at this weird place in the world. When it
comes to that, it makes me feel like that old
Chappelle joke when he's like.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Where's Jah? I need him to somebody find him? To
make sense of all this.

Speaker 6 (26:54):
Why do we care about, like, you know, a celebrity's opinion,
political pian of debt when I'm only watching you for
this content that I appreciate.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
That's it. Well, it's because there were two sides of
the aisle, and one believe that she was doing harm
to people around her because it was a weird scenario
where by wearing a mask protected other people, and that
was kind of the point of it. So people, especially
left leaning, all were specifically cities where it mattered the most.

(27:25):
We're saying, I can't believe you're promoting this because you're
gonna get people killed. So that's the idea. So I
don't disagree with the sentiment from the left about why
they were so upset with her and having which they
eventually started calling right wing opinions. But it doesn't again
mean because you disagree with them that you get to
ruin their life, right, that's the point. The point is

(27:47):
is that you made that. Disney absolutely made a snap gun,
snap decision to fire her without talking to anyone, and
might have illegally fired her, which is why they.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
Just did what they did.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Right, There's there was a good chance if this went
to court, we were going to see all the emails,
we were going to see all the documents around it,
and they didn't want that to come out. Yeah. I
think that's more why she won than actually Disney given
a damn.

Speaker 8 (28:16):
I think at least, you know, I wasn't gonna make
a clip out of this, But that was so funny.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Oh that's so good. That's so good released the Karnaphiles.
All right, well, that's that's that. I expect to see
her in other things, and I'm excited to see her
in other things because again, her political opinion doesn't mean
much to me. Just you know, I'm sorry that it's

(28:53):
like ping pong in my head, just rattling around. Oh,
that's so funny. All right, let's talk about Paul, because
as fuck Paul. Paul was who Mary Jane left Peter for.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
So this is the book I'm not reading.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
It's the book that no one's really reading. But so
a while back, we found out that that Mary Jane
was taken into like this alternate universe from like the
Scribble Man or whatever the hell his name was, ye,
while he was in there with Paul, she formed a
relationship with him while Peter was trying to figure out
a way to get back in, Like she sacrificed her
way out to let Peter get out because it was

(29:29):
more important than he beat Spider Man Peters.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Trying to get back in since brand New.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Day Wow good one, wow, good wow. Well Paul beat
him to it. So Paul and her, so he he
only spends like a couple of days trying to get
back into this other dimension. But to Mary Jane and Paul,

(29:53):
it was years so stand up having a relationship, they
have kids, and when she gets back out like a
normal dude. Yeah yeah, but he's kind of a douche powers.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
No, he's got a freaking man body.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
He's a regular dude and they have fake ass kids.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Lance could be doing that right now if he wanted to.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
That's true. Lance, Yep, it's okay, where's my scissors?

Speaker 5 (30:19):
I can't. I just wanted to come back in a
suit called top note.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Well, the important thing is ever since Mary Jane helped
ruin Venom, that she is going to now leave Paul
because her books just not good, because you know, not
every character needs to be a superhero.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
So she left Peter to Paul.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
She left Peter for Paul. Wow. And it's not losing
Paul for herself.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
They're going to kill her at the end of the series.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
I don't think so. I think they're just gonna start Ultimately,
they're going to start bringing that right. They're going to
start bringing things back to right. I think, because again,
some characters are defined by their side characters. Some characters
are great because of the support system, around them and
what makes up their book. But they decided to go
the True Blood route where everybody needed to be something.

(31:11):
I hate True Blood for that reason. Starts and then
all of a sudden, then we start getting into wear
panthers and lava throwing fairies. You know what I mean,
Like they're throwing lava fireballs. Weather bitches. Yeah, weather bitches
are all over. But again that's what they had to
do with Mary Jane, and now that's why Mary Jane sucks.
I mean, look at Gwen gwen Pool, look at look
at the new Gwen Pool. That's actually Gwen Stacy. Yeah, dumb,

(31:34):
but it's not.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
H did you read the newest issue?

Speaker 2 (31:39):
No? No, alright, real fast.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
It's the remnants from remember the when they brought everyone
back as clones a couple of years ago. Yeah, it's
her remnants from that clone. Okay, still dumb. It is
better dumb, but it's the Gwen body is still buried
in the cemetery.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
I mean, not good but good, but dang, it's and
Gwen Pool was actually a great character. Yeah. I really
liked how they like Gwen Pool was her own thing,
and then the needing to force it to be Gwen
Stacy was dumb, just like forcing Venom to be Mary
Jane was dumb. Yikes, there's spoiler alert for all four

(32:24):
of you that are reading that book, I mean three, Sorry, baby,
who's on the show? All right? So yeah, Paul's gonna
Paul's first off Paul single, and now Paul will probably
die in Dead Veren and Pool No Wolverpool. Remember there
was in the pre comic well, there was two characters
that turned. They've become comic characters, and they become weird

(32:46):
versions of Deadpool and Wolverine. It's like a couple that
becomes a weird version of Wolverine in Deadpool. It was
the stupidest book. I was like, this is so dumb
in the Free Comic Book Day until you get to
the last part where they decided to kill Paul, and
I'm like, well, I'm gonna read this book now. Yeah,
because here's the one thing that you know, whether you
feel good or bad about Gina Carano joining Star Wars again,

(33:09):
we can all agree that Paul sucks. Yes, it doesn't
matter what side of the aisle you were on, Paul sucks.

Speaker 6 (33:17):
The question, yeah, Lance, who sucks more? Cyclaps or Paul, Paul.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Paul, it's all. Don't you dare even say something else
because you know it's Paul.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
I played that dude.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Paul sucks more than the rebranded Lobo. You remember how
bad that rebranded logo was. They tried to make him
the Twilight Vampire. Yeah, yeah, Paul's Paul Paulum Paul Paul
just makes me angry and my blood boil. And Paul
helped ruin Spider Man comics.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
Hey, you know what I can prove Cyclops sucks. It
looks like in the newest issue X Men, Cyclops is
in jail.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
That doesn't mean he sucks. That doesn't mean he sucks.
Ye yes, up in his streets sucking.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
Yeah, he sucks nothing.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
That doesn't mean he sucks. Now gave himself up, you
know what I mean, that's not that just just because
you got Just because you got locked up, doesn't mean
he suck.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
He could be. He could.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
I don't know why he's not shooting people, you know
what I mean, he's behind the tucks. He still has
his visor on, and he can still shoot me, and
he doesn't even make a concussive blast. Can't he just
knock the wall down?

Speaker 4 (34:25):
Yeah, that's how bad he sucks.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
He isn't really he can do that, all right, that's fair,
that's fair. He does suck again. He does suck again,
because theoretically, unless he's keeping himself behind those bars, he
could theoretically get out.

Speaker 9 (34:34):
Of course, he's keeping himself behind those but really, yes, really, yeah, okay,
this is the guy who took the Phoenix Force for
himself and then killed Charles.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
I mean, Charles was platinum as a girl for a
very long time.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Yeah, but that was a long time ago.

Speaker 5 (34:52):
Wells does suck. There is another mutant who definitely does
not suck, and that's Storm.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Oh yeah, because.

Speaker 5 (35:04):
What what say something? That book was great?

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Oh I think that. I think that was Robert Loblaw's
transition into the comics.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
I think that. I think that's a.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Smart move because it's it's just about that time, So
comic books. Comic books, we're now about to talk about
coming there there's our there's our segue.

Speaker 5 (35:24):
Not no more.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Well, go ahead, talk about Storm because you're the only one.

Speaker 5 (35:28):
Oh, you're gonna take that features.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
No, he's not the only one.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
Storm is phenomonal.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (35:33):
In fact, why don't you tell us about Storm?

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Features because didn't read it.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
No, I read it, Had is coming and we're all
gonna die.

Speaker 6 (35:41):
Yeah, so the Storm Wars beginning, and as of right now,
Storm as the host of Eternity eternities with somewhere else.
So he's he's he's not inside her body as of
right now, he's still the mightiest mutant on Earth.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Yeah, he's inside her body. M I'm just sorry you're
throwing them up.

Speaker 6 (36:06):
But you one thing I really do appreciate about how
they're writing Storm's characters.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
You're finding out.

Speaker 6 (36:11):
I got a lot more about her history. It is
rich within the Marvel universe. I never knew before she
was a direct descendant of Alkamoto, the first Sorcerer.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Supremely Yeah, that's Storm, man.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
This book is truly a badass. Though she should be written.
I'll tell you what. They did a great job and
eleven issues to make Storm really cool, and then One
World under Doom makes sure it look horrible in a
single frame. Yeah, man, did you guys read One World
under Doom?

Speaker 5 (36:43):
Did not? Oh?

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Buddy? Did they make her look dumb as hell? Not
only they make her look dumb as hell, They make
everyone dumb, but specifically Storm because they point her out
by name, so tell me more. One World on Doing
This week was great because it was a battle of
wits live on air between Emperor Doom and Reed Richards

(37:07):
and Read. Richards. Has thinks he kind of has the
upper hand on Doom, and he keeps talking about like,
how you know you're you're doing terrible things. You know
you're you're awful for the country, and wow, you're wafful
of the world or whatever, And at one point he's like,
why do you think you deserve to rule? Essentially, and
Doom goes off on a tangent about how had the

(37:28):
actual people in charge with all of these gifts done
something about the the horrors of the world, all of
it would be eradicated, and they decided not to do it,
And he points at every single one of the heroes
and Storms specifically, he says, someone can control the weather,
could quite literally wipe out all natural disasters as well
as make sure that there's world hunger ends overnight, but

(37:52):
Has decided never in her life.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
To do that, and made a base upon the moon.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
Yeah, and left and made a base on the moon
for her, for herself and her and place. So instead
of helping the world. She decided to leave and create
a better one for herself. And then he says, and
then the mutants in general solve death and then still
don't share it with the rest of the world. Yeah, well,
I mean to be Oh, they make fun of he says,

(38:18):
Santa Wakanda. He goes, and then then you have Black
Panther Wakanda with all of their technological wonders and advancements,
and is again decide to let the world suffer. He
talks about read, he talks about the Avengers he taught.
I mean, he point by point and you can't refute it.
That's the worst part. When you read it, you're like,
he kind of has a point.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
He does.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
It was a really It's one of those moments that
shows how good Doom is. And the craziest part is
when he starts talking about the people he sacrificed, and
he go and he and you have this moment where
Reid thinks he's making like he's he's finally winning, and
Doom goes, I will make that sacrifice over and over
and over if it means the rest of you survive, Dan,

(39:03):
And it's like he deflates every single argument up until
a point where a big spoiler alert here at this point,
but a team breaks into Wakanda or not Wakanda breaks
into Lavaria and finds out that all of the people
of Laviaria are being held hostage and that they're all
they're all giving up their life force to power Doom

(39:26):
to be as strong as he is. So the reason
why Doom is so influential is he's being powered by
the civilians of Latviia's life force. So it's bull string
his power so much more.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
So that's part. So they figure that out and they
tell the world and then he kind of has a
meltdown and he starts like like, I don't think he
killed him, but he definitely started pulling chunks of his
face off.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
Oh, Like I'm wondering if he's gonna get a little
makery looking.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
This is one of the best of the books so
far in One World Underdo, because the conversation between those
two hits hard because there are so many times that
you're like, I disagree with that, and then he makes
his point and you're like, oh, I don't disagree as
much anymore.

Speaker 5 (40:14):
You know, when you mentioned like the way he was
just kind of tearing everybody apart verbally. I didn't read
the book, but I got head canon now of him
pointing to Cyclops and being like, you're too easy.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
While Cyclops was one of the first to die and
come back at Cracoa and they never told anybody, so
you know, hey, bits, I mean, it's kind of hard
with the X Men to be honest, just because you know,
janosha like, it's kind of hard.

Speaker 5 (40:45):
Yeah, the rest.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Of them, it's a little different, but well, specifically the mutants,
it's a.

Speaker 6 (40:49):
Little like, uh, they got a violid excuse or reason, like,
you guys didn't appreciate us while we were here, so.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
Well, it's it's it's It reminds me a lot of
World War Hulk when he goes to the Xavier mansion
and then he finally breaks in and he messes everybody up,
but he's like, he's like, tell Exavier to get out there.
They're like, do you realize how much it sucks for us?
And then Hulk goes, you're right and leaves. It's like,

(41:17):
I'd rather just let you continue existing the way you're existing,
but instead of you know, killing all of you, that's worse.
So wow, and I get it. I mean, that is
a really reductive way of talking about Krocoa and the
Krocoa era and why they created those vaccines and medicines,
and like, the whole point was leave us alone on Kroacoa,
and then they didn't. So I don't necessarily blame the

(41:40):
mutants for not getting that over. But Doom makes a point.

Speaker 6 (41:44):
I know it is a point, but I think he
relied on pulling on the public's heartstrings about these issues instead.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Of actually going into the nuance of each one. Yeah,
some of the nuance doesn't matter for each of them.
Like Storm, there's no question, well no question, and okay,
so charge of starving children should wait because Storm doesn't.

Speaker 5 (42:06):
She's kind of got her hands full right now, like
keeping the entire universe, all right.

Speaker 4 (42:12):
But what about his fifty years before?

Speaker 2 (42:14):
She always had? Does that always do what she?

Speaker 5 (42:16):
Maybe we don't know for sure.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
We also don't know. We do me a favorite. Just
do a quick google and see how many I.

Speaker 3 (42:26):
Don't want to do, how many storm in didn't the
bulk of them get canceled.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
I was gonna say, she has a lot of free time,
so she she's like in this like court being judged
by all these gods and like everyone's hating on her,
and then betare Bill is like, yo, that's my chick.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
So yeah, like it's a shame that none of the
earth things are saying.

Speaker 5 (42:53):
That there wasn't any Earth things.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
There also give up on Earth. Didn't again, because again
Doom is controlling the world right now, all of her
friends are under the rule of Doom. And she's like, nah,
a rocco, you know, Mars. Yeah, I'm just saying, you know,
priorities right now are a little out there.

Speaker 5 (43:19):
I feel like it's all right.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
That was my least favorite. Really really not a bad book.
It's not bad at all. It's just my least favorite.

Speaker 5 (43:28):
Fine, Ultimate Wolverine, we can.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Talk about Ultimate Warne. Didn't you like a Baltimore. It's
just slow and kind of just.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
It's just it's a little set up. I love it.
I love the new look on the costume.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
I didn't like the white I didn't like the White
ex because like I liked him as the Winter Soldier
and being the stealth thing. And now you're like, let
me make sure everyone sees me.

Speaker 4 (43:47):
Yeah, I want the man. He's doing the Batman thing.
I want you to see me coming.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
That's not Batman. You know what Batman does is he
makes a ten year old wear it, and then it's
year old gets all the bullets as he's running a
few feet ahead in the shadows. Now, don't worry. They
can't see you either in your yellow, red, and green
in your targeted colors. Yeah, and don't put on pants either.

Speaker 4 (44:13):
For some reason. Don't for some reason.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
So yeah, it's not Ultimate Wolverine is not bad by
any means. It's just it's it's a lot of setup,
it is, and I feel like I got a lot
of set up in the last issue.

Speaker 5 (44:27):
It's uh, it's leading to the Civil War. That's what
it feels like.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
Yeah, but it does feel like a better x Men
book than x Men though.

Speaker 5 (44:35):
Yeah, that's canceled.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
So wait did it really get canceled?

Speaker 3 (44:40):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (44:40):
I thought all the x Men books I am at.

Speaker 3 (44:45):
Me.

Speaker 2 (44:46):
I'm talking about the peach water.

Speaker 4 (44:48):
Sucks so much. You clean keep the books from being canceled.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Right, But books that got canceled he wasn't in. But
that also speaks Yeah, that speaks to Wolverine, Gambit and Nightcrawler,
and I wouldn't don't don't open up that Pandora's Box
defend one. All right, let's move on to the absolutes,
because both of them were great. Absolute Superman still outstanding.

Speaker 5 (45:08):
Oh yeah, this one especially, Holy crap.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
Really love Jimmy and Lois really like in the way
the characters are, and bras Alo as the main villain,
loving that like that switch and making him this bigger,
powerful villain that's not necessarily as cloaked as he is
in standard DC.

Speaker 5 (45:29):
I want him to only defeat by turning them into babies.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
And then just the it's amazing how that panel out
of context is horrible. And then actually, well, I mean
the guy was a guy twelve seconds ago, so.

Speaker 3 (45:46):
Yeah, he got riding after that. I said, this can't
get any better.

Speaker 5 (45:49):
So Batman's kicking babies.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
Like babies.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
Well, we got to keep in mind this is dark,
said universe. So that's true.

Speaker 6 (46:01):
Things probably prone to habit, that's true.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
I do think Absolute Green Lantern was better this week, though,
Oh yes, Absolute Green Lantern. And I felt so vindicated
when they actually said black Hand. Yeah, I mean I
shouldn't feel vindicated because if the writing was on the
wall and everyone was saying the goddamn thing. But I
still felt good about it.

Speaker 5 (46:21):
So that was the lantern, right, the thing that fell
from this guy and crushed the town. That was the lantern.

Speaker 2 (46:27):
I thought that was a ship.

Speaker 5 (46:28):
I think I thought so too, But then but then
it lit up in this book as the lantern. It
like sat up and lit up, right.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
But I don't think that's the main power battery, is
what you're saying. Yeah, you're saying it's the power battery.
I don't think it is. I think the power battery
is probably still on OA. We don't know what OA
is yet. We don't know where Alvin Sore comes from.
Like so much of this story is more about how
Jordan dealing with the Black Hand. By the way, how
grotesque did he get? Yeah? How how is the new

(46:59):
what was the what's the main black Lantern's name? Necron
necron nechron Ye? Yes, I feel like I feel like
forty k.

Speaker 4 (47:10):
That's what I was like.

Speaker 6 (47:11):
Wait a second, Yeah, I'm not too versed in uh
In in Green Lantern like that, but that that Black
Hands storyline.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
What well, it kind of sets up a different Blackest
Night mythos Yeah, yeah, not not mythos. What's the word
I'm thinking of? No oh in the main continuity. Everyone
talks about the black the blackest night. Oh prophecy. It's
a new profect, right, They're starting to kind of come

(47:41):
up with a prophecy. They don't explain much about the
green lantern. Oh, feature's got something we got, did you
the green lantern oath? We haven't gotten that yet. We
have well.

Speaker 6 (47:53):
Use words, yes, but to imagine that that the oath
is it starts from from her wedding bows.

Speaker 2 (48:00):
Yeah, that was interesting. That was interesting, well because it
doesn't really seem as though that Avin so in this
world has an oath. Dude doesn't say much. Besides, you've
been judged.

Speaker 5 (48:13):
So so Joe's the green lantern, right, howls the black lantern.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
Spoiler alert yet spoiler alert Yeah, kind of loving that,
go ahead and say it.

Speaker 5 (48:26):
Yeah. And then John Stewart is the yellow lantern, gold lantern, yes,
white white lantern, Oh right, right, because the round right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (48:37):
And the white lanterns are the closest thing you're gonna
get to like a god lantern. Yeah, it's really just Kyle.
So the fact that John I like John Stewart being
the white lantern, Yes, because John's John's John's dedication to order.

(48:57):
I really like him being the White Lantern. Also be
because I play Magic the Gathering, and that's just.

Speaker 5 (49:04):
This is top of the list for me, and it
has been for the last three issues at least, and
it's still up at the top. The best absolute book.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
The best. I don't know if I give it the best. Absolutely,
it was the best this week, but it's not better
than the tens, the ten, Superman's five. Green Landers don't
beat the ten Superman's.

Speaker 5 (49:21):
It's so.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
Top five. There's only five.

Speaker 6 (49:27):
Books, I know, but I'll say it in the absolute
universe of those books, would you say that Greenlander will
make a top five?

Speaker 2 (49:32):
There's only five books? Is it? Green Lantern, Superman, Batman, Flash,
Wonder Woman. So yes, the answer is yes. It definitely
makes okay, all right, So technically technically might not.

Speaker 5 (49:52):
That's two for me, number two. So Lantern, Manhunter, Superman, Batman.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
They're all number two for me.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Are you calling him poopy? You know what you're doing
over there? Well? Did you get a chance to read Daredevil? Yes?

Speaker 3 (50:10):
I did.

Speaker 2 (50:10):
That was the Cold Day in Hell? Was what a
way to wrap it up? Yeah? And can we all
just say that the standout spoiler alert the standout is Frank.
Can we all just give Franks flowers? Literally literally, dude?
When Frank came out of the suit as just a stump. Yeah,

(50:34):
fighting the face off of Bullseye was a wild panel
because you knew he was coming. You knew that at
some point he was going to show up in that
mech suit. But when he left the Mex suit and
was still doing damage, I was like, that's the Frank
I know. Is Yeah, I didn't. I didn't think it

(50:55):
was going to end the way it did, though, of
like them failing. I got to read it my bad
spoiler don't well it is so you know now I'm
trying to figure out how to say this with them
say it, just just say it all right? Well, the
big the way it ends with essentially everyone dying and

(51:16):
losing and the bombs blowing up throughout the city and
everyone's starting to scream because they're going blind and they're
attacking each other, and that it was. And then while
that's going on, Daredevil dies was a wild way to
go because he doesn't truly make it and if anything,
he doesn't even really save the day. All he does

(51:38):
is inspire someone else to become a hero Punisher does
a more. Is it does more to save the day
than Daredevil really does? Daryl was he No, He's no,
he's trying. He's just not doing a great job because
he's losing his powers. To be fair, he's losing his
powers at the same time, so he's fighting and then
turning blind while fighting and not having that at the

(52:02):
Echo location or so. Anyway, Yeah, that's a bad mixed fighting.

Speaker 6 (52:05):
Bulls Eye just took some stuff to get his unt.

Speaker 2 (52:09):
Parkinson's slugged, slugged that whatever drink that he does. But
I loved his speech about how he just did he
felt irrelevant without a hero to fight. That like he
was his purpose in life was to entertain through chaos,
and that Daredevil was the counter to make sure that

(52:30):
everyone was entertained. That like, not having someone to fight
is the thing that gave him. No, that what made
him go worse because his reason for existing stopped. It's
very Joker Batman kind of. It felt very Joker Batman. Yeah,
it was a good book. It was a wild ending
good book.

Speaker 5 (52:48):
Then yeah, I just after the MS paint Electra, it
was really hard for me to stay but I wanted
I want to read the conclusion, So I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
I didn't know it was like issues, right, I thought
it was supposed to be.

Speaker 3 (53:03):
I thought it was did the one out of three
in big print on the first.

Speaker 10 (53:10):
Dude, I get too excited to look at that kind
of stuff. I'm already reading by the time. They're always
old man, that's what you're.

Speaker 2 (53:20):
On the show for attention to this ship. All right.
The only last book that I read which was outstanding
was Captain America two.

Speaker 4 (53:29):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (53:30):
Yep, there it is big three or three?

Speaker 3 (53:32):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Was it? There were one of three on the first issue. Yeah,
but yeah, Captain America to h this new take on
Captain America that's connected more to current events and him
coming out of the Ice in modern day and modern
times with a Captain America that has already replaced him.

(53:55):
So the premise of the story for anybody who's not
reading this is the cap comes out of the Ice.
He's approached by the Avenge and he turns them down
because he doesn't have any connection to them, and he
only thing he knows at this point is the military.
So he joins back up with the military to learn
the world, and he meets this new Captain America who
has been raised into Day's day and age, so that

(54:16):
you start to really see the divide between the two
of them as they they try and do an extraction
from Latveria together, the two of them fighting together, and
they come across some rebels who want to take out Doom,
and new Captain America is like, doesn't our orders. We
don't care about these people. We got to do our job.

(54:36):
Get out of here, because you know, we are the
ever watching America that's keeping tabs on everything. You know,
we don't need to be a part of this. We're
already watching it. We've been given our orders. Where Captain
America Steve is like, well, no, we know there's a
bad guy there. We go get the bad guy because
that's what we do. That's kind of the whole thing.
And so he says, you know what, I'm out. I'm

(54:58):
not I'm gonna go hell the rebels. Uh. And he says,
I'll be your distraction so you guys can get away,
finish your mission, and I'll do it. So he goes
to help them, and similar to like the flag Smashers,
they go to assassinate Doom and he can't let it happen.
Because it's not Captain America's way. You know, he's not
He's not gonna let someone get shot in the back

(55:19):
of the head, even if it's doom, so he stops them.

Speaker 5 (55:25):
It's it's such a cool dynamic like between them and
and I'm I'm sad that I missed it because I
would have picked it up had I known it was
coming out.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
Well, the temper in the new Captain America, I'm positive
this is the this is this is new John Walker.
Like he won't he won't be Captain America long. He'll
become somebody new, But I don't know if he'll be
a hero because the way he's very similar to Steve.
He's a nerdy little kid that was given this the
serum and he's now very powerful. But he's in modern

(55:54):
the modern day America where big brothers kind of everywhere.

Speaker 5 (55:57):
So is it Steve that breaks or is it his
name David.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Well, he snaps at one point and screams and yells,
and he's obviously more temperamental and emotional that Steve is.
Steve doesn't have his bearings yet. Steve doesn't truly understand
the world yet, and he the more he learns about
America's surveillance, the more he's like, well, that's not freedom,
and that's not what I was told. You know, we
were fighting for old school ideals versus new ones. Well,

(56:25):
what was interesting, which was a big, big old spoilerler
for for anybody who's who's not reading this book, is
that at the very end it turns out that it
was a Doom bot, because of course it was, and
Doom finds him and you're like, this big fight between
Captain American Doctor Doom's about to happen, but Doom goes

(56:46):
that's Steve Rogers, the original Captain America a hero. I
would like you to I'd like to welcome you to
lat Viio as the hero you are. And he puts
his stand out and helps Captain America stand out. Huh,
I love it. I love him. Yeah, I love it.
And the next issue shows the two of them fighting
on the cover, but to be honest, we saw Read
and Doom fighting in One World under Doom and they

(57:07):
didn't really fight.

Speaker 5 (57:08):
We also saw the mushroom Man on the cover of
the Daredevil.

Speaker 3 (57:11):
Book, it wasn't in the book. Issue twenty four comes
out this month, and uh, it's just Daredevil on the cover,
so they're doing something rightly.

Speaker 5 (57:24):
He's in the book.

Speaker 2 (57:26):
The book, all right? Anybody else got anything? Oh?

Speaker 5 (57:31):
I think all read out pretty pretty quick.

Speaker 4 (57:34):
Week.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
It was a really good week. It was a good week.
There's a couple of books I didn't get to. I wanted
to read Cole the Sack. That horror book looked really cool.
I wanted to read the new Wolverine that came out,
the Chris Claremont Wolverine.

Speaker 4 (57:45):
Yeah, there it is.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
I hate his new costume.

Speaker 4 (57:48):
I hate what do you think?

Speaker 2 (57:49):
What do you think they hate that costume so much
that that weird not star star thing that connects it.
I hate that costume. I thought it looked cool and
a cover at the first one as alternate. But David
looks great. That kind of greenish Captain America costume that
he's wearing, that's more like a soldier. Like I still
think the original MCU Captain America soldier uniform is the

(58:09):
best one from the first one, from the first Yeah,
he's got a budget, great ones ever since, but it's
still the one that streams soldier to me. So when
I look at this suit, I'm like, you don't scream soldier.
To me, you you look like you're trying to be
superhero right now, but at this point in your career,
you want to just be a soldier because you're so
early out of the ice. You're going to the mill

(58:30):
like he's working for Thunderbolt Ross because he doesn't nowhere
else to go and he doesn't know what the Avengers are,
what they stand for. So I love it. I think
this new Captain America is great. I think the last
Captain America was outstanding until the Penguin. I think the
Penguin wasn't the worst thing that ever happened like Mosco did,
but it definitely was a turning point and that that
book started to fall.

Speaker 5 (58:49):
Off the This week, we've got some cool books and.

Speaker 3 (58:55):
I before you even this is ah, I was looking
at this and I wanted to show you a cover
of a book that I think we've all kind of
throw throw under the rug and are not really reading
it anymore, but this might make us want to read it.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
Oh, that exactly what it was.

Speaker 5 (59:16):
Yes, I am. I love this book and we talked
about it last time. This book came out of Muse Carnage.
Oh my god, I'm so excited for this book.

Speaker 2 (59:24):
If looks like an alien, I will say, that's not
the first time they've done that with Carnage. But I
do love the idea of News becoming the new Carnage.
That's the look. The whole merging of characters I find
tedious and a lot of times lazy, but that's one
I will get behind.

Speaker 5 (59:44):
Exactly what I was talking about.

Speaker 2 (59:47):
Venom is moving back over to Eddie. Because didn't didn't
we just get a version of Venom.

Speaker 4 (59:52):
That Eddie Ranger.

Speaker 5 (59:54):
Huh Eddie's dead spoiler alert? That was last last dish
about it. Sorry, I thought we talked about it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
No, I didn't. I'm now finding out that that an
old friend has passed away.

Speaker 5 (01:00:09):
Well, they didn't kill and so yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
I love that. I mean, well, I hate that he's
dead and then but I do like that Venom might
become something else.

Speaker 5 (01:00:18):
Yeah, I love this book.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
I'm yeah, that's really cool. I might. I might jump
back in. I gave up after issue too, not because
it was bad, it's just too many things were coming out,
and after I was like three issues behind, I was like, well,
I guess I'm done with this.

Speaker 5 (01:00:33):
We got bug Wars.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
I have read the first one and haven't read any since.
But I have all of them. I keep saying I'm
going to read it, and I just never do. Yeah,
I'm excited for row you're reading them. No, I'm not
all well because we hear we've got the Ultimates this week,
we've got Transformers. This week, we've got Ultimate Spider Man Incursion.
This week we have I mean, who cares about D level?

Speaker 5 (01:00:55):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
We have Dark Patterns is this week? Another book. I'm
very behind on spider Man. Wolverine another book. I'm very
behind on Superman. That the Kryptonite Spectrum. I heard bad
things about this. I mean, I'm gonna definitely check it out,
but I don't. I could be making that up, but

(01:01:18):
I feel like I heard something weird about that. Number
six Jedi Knight's is exciting. Uh. Predator Verse the Marvel
Universes this.

Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
Week kills kills the universe.

Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
I might get that, no question, I'm getting that. The
last the last one was so good. New Champions. I
hate Fairyland. Uh, I don't care the Power Rangers and
Ninja Turtles didn't know that was the thing that was
happening the third the third time. Because it makes money
go good good for you. Oh, who is with Godzilla? Godzilla?

Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
Here?

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Here there be aliens. Oh, it's the the Godzilla superhero.
What's his what's his name? He showed up in Godzilla
Verse the jet Jaguar. Yes, that's it, Jaguar. Yeah, he
showed up in the Power Rangers crossover. You fall alongside
the Power Rangers, which is kind of cool. Yeah, is

(01:02:13):
that it still great space? I say that is I
say that that is.

Speaker 5 (01:02:17):
Like it's not a yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
Hell, it's a good week.

Speaker 5 (01:02:20):
It's really good.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
All right, Well I think on that. No, Green Goblin
number one. Have you been reading any of the Bad
Guys stuff? Bring on the Bad Guys? No, neither Godzilla.

Speaker 4 (01:02:34):
But that's about it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Yeah, Transformers twenty one with this wild cover fan XP
it's a yeah reprint, all right, definitely gonna be a
good week, no question on that.

Speaker 4 (01:02:48):
I'm excited. Transformers.

Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
Yeah. Used to be an auto read on Wednesdays, and
now it's like like I break my books into threes
and then read them in the mornings. That has now
fallen very low in the pile.

Speaker 5 (01:03:01):
It would probably still be reading it if there wasn't
this these events going on with Marvel and DC with
absolute and Ultimate. I almost guarantee it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
What I'd still be reading it. Yeah, oh, I am
still reading it. It's one of the I have yet
to drop that. It's just there. It's becoming very seany
like I can't like we were twenty issues in and
I can't tell you what's really happened.

Speaker 4 (01:03:23):
Well, a couple more issues. I'm going to have that
nice little soft freeboot.

Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
I'm good with that. I'm going because I still love this.
This is still the best Transformers property other than Transformers One,
that I've gone through and since I was a child.
And even then, it wasn't the biggest franchise in my world.
You know, it competed with Ghostbusters in Ninja Turtle. Sorry buddy,
you were third. This was out way before all that.
Well yeah, but not my childhood because I wasn't out

(01:03:48):
way before all that, you know what I mean. That's
not what I was watching.

Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
That was that wash Man.

Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
You know we missed this week.

Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
That we'll probab talk about it next week. Illuminati number
two I missed.

Speaker 5 (01:04:04):
Yeah, I missed that too.

Speaker 2 (01:04:05):
Oh that's right, No, I didn't. It didn't have it.
It's yeah, I tried to get it. I tried to
get it. They didn't order enough it's a shop, and
then we couldn't find it at the other one. So yeah,
I do want to definitely go back into that. But yeah,
it was.

Speaker 4 (01:04:18):
If you go in to Comic Universe, you can.

Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
Oh it's it's now a part of my poll list.
It just wasn't before. And I made the mistake of
assuming other people knew good books.

Speaker 4 (01:04:32):
Job.

Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
Michael thought there was going to be enough of them ordered.
I thought somebody at Comic Universe listened to our show.
All right, I think that's going to do it for
this week. Yeah, you can find a show it that
