Speaker 3 (00:49):
Baby Huie, I'm hi, what's going on?
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Going on?
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Okay? So we got a nice little show today. A
lot of trailers.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
We're gonna get through one with the Superman trailer that
was released iron Heart, we saw spider Man Noir, and
then we have a leak with a Galactus as it seems.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
It's a trickle.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yeah, and we got some more news with the MCU
with Kristin Ritter and Nev Campbell. So let's just hop
right into it and start off with this Superman trailer.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
What are we thinking guys, what are we thinking? It
was horrible?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
No, horrible, No, it was freaking amazing. Like I watched
it like five times in a row.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
I mean say, I definitely watched it about three times
in a row. I would have gotten a five, but
I had to clock back in and get on.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Well, I only watched it once that day.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Once once.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
But I'll tell you what it's It's been a very
long time since I've got the chill from watching a trailer,
and that absolutely did happened. I'm more excited for this now,
I think, you know, we said a week or two ago,
it's like, oh ho hum, maybe a'll you know, yeah, yeah,
see it looks good, you know whatever. But after that
trailer and it still didn't really give you much, which
(02:20):
was great.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
It doesn't.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
But what it does give is it gives you a
sense of who Superman is, like who we think him
to be, and how he's being portrayed in this this
universe going out. Like I thought, what was a wonderful
scene was was the interview with him and Lois Lane,
Like when she's like, oh, well, you know, did you
(02:45):
stop to think that maybe you shouldn't have went into
a foreign country and stopped it. He's like, but I
stopped a war. She's like sure, but you know another one.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I loved the whole him being Clark Kent and like
morphing into Superman with his answer yes yes, Like he's
all like, oh, let's do this, h Lane, Like the
voice change and everything like that was awesome.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
I thought that was wonderful too.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
That was a I think a phenomenal job by Corn
Sweat doing that, because we kind of need to see
that with Superman. I was definitely one person that always
complained like, how does no one realize that Clark Kent
isn't Superman. He's not doing anything different, it's just glasses.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Well, I mean, no unchover.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
He hunches over. He actually does physically make himself shorter
to hunch over the glasses. He doesn't look at people
directly to throw off perception. But yeah, a lot of
little things he does.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
The interesting thing when I watch the trailer, I try
to figure out the timeline, what is happening, what's the beginning,
Like where I have no idea with this, Like you
would think, you know the now, maybe that the battle
in the desert, like that might be one of the
first scenes, but you know, it's tough to tell because
(04:05):
even with the like then there's the battle with the
Kaiju and the I had that name written down here somewhere.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
The Juggernut looking guy.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Yeah, there's that battle, and you know Lex and the
Fortress Solitude. Like, I have no idea what this timeline
looks like, and we know there's gonna be flashbacks.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
So what I'm thinking is him coming back might be
the start of the movie, like him coming back from
stopping the war, right, and then lois interviewing him, and
we'll get the flashback through the storytelling. And then from
what I heard is that juggernaut looking guy is the
country that he invaded. That's they're sending him as a
retaliation for him coming in, So that might be then
(04:46):
present time.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
I've heard a little tidbit about that too. I can
get there before we leave it. I don't know if
it'll be end up being a spoiler, but there's a
theory on this. So we had a couple different care
as pop up. We had Guy Gardner, Yeah, we had
we saw him actually using the construct, which is kind
of cool. Yes, we got a better look at Metamorpho. Yes, actually, yeah,
(05:12):
like what to be a cell, so maybe they're.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Like it looked, Yeah, it looked like they were like
in a cell together. Like I guess they're they're going
to capture Superman at some point for some meta human
type deal or something.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
I'm pretty sure had something to do with Lex I'm assuming,
of course.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
Who, Well the Hawk Girl, Hawk Girl, Hawk Girl.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Mister terrific. Listen, this is Terrific.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Doesn't seem like the guy to go crazy over. But
he had a little like an awesome walk on scene.
I don't know what he was doing, but it looked
kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I mean, he did that the the reveals kind of neat.
But I also kind of felt like it was the.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
C W version, like I've heard that before.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah, it was very sweet. Actually, oh really, it just
I mean it looked almost exactly the same, which the
CW version was good, Like the look and everything was perfect.
I just felt like, all right, it's nothing new that
I haven't seen before. Okay, that's.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I I want to say that I like the fact
that they're introducing a whole slew of characters, and I'm
sure it can be done in a in a way
that it doesn't take.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Away from Superman itself.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
But I think, and I think we've we've mentioned this before,
that like this is Superman coming into an already established
world of heroes.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
So he's like officially the new guy, and they're like.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Well is he I think we are, as the audience,
are coming into this universe already, okay, because like the
world already knows who he is. So yeah, I think
he's already a established character.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Okay, so that you think there, they will probably not
even give us the like the build up Supervoid treatment
into Superman, just fast forward.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
I don't think so. I think we'll uh. I guess
backs are well. I can't even think of freaking words today.
Words words, the back look at people, the flashbash flashbacks
with Paw Khint. I don't know if those are really
(07:22):
flashbacks though, because he doesn't look all that young.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah it was. It was like a week back.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
It's still flashback, right, yeah. Flash It was like I
was gonna mention something about all the characters, where like
the general audience, I don't I think a lot of
people panic when they start to hear like this person's
you know, all of these characters are in there. We
don't really need a full on backstory of every single
(07:49):
character in the movie. I think people just freak out
because they don't know, and then they see that they're, oh,
there's thirty people or you know, sixty seven like in Adventures. Yeah,
you don't really need the full background on uh, you know, Metamorpho.
I think you'll you'll find out pretty quick, like what
he's capable of doing, and that's all you need.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
For now, correct, Right.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
And I've heard rumors of like multiverse stuff kind of
filling in somewhere. I hope that that's where mister Terrific's
actually coming from.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
I don't want them to do that too soon, Like
this is we're just getting the DC universe kicking off, Like,
I don't think they should step into multiversal stuff too fast. Yeah,
I think this, this Superman movie is really going to
going to play as the springboard for everything else. Like
it's going to be a Superman movie, and I think
we're going to enjoy it as such, but we're getting
(08:43):
all these other heroes into it just to make it known, Hey,
this this is who's around, and this is what we're
going to get to And I'm okay with that.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
I'm perfect okay with that too. So as a trailer,
we're all giving this.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I haven't seen anything since the
first few teasers up until now that that has me
turned off in the slightest, I'm still giving this a
ten out of ten.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
I'm stoked to see it.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
It might even have me a little bit more excited
than Fantastic four, just by a little bit.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
It's a little bit.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Yeah, there were there were a few adjustments made, you know.
Obviously the obvious one is him getting hit by the
rock and not flinching. Not the rock, not black out
of it, but an actual physical rock. There was a
big stink about that months ago when the teaser came out,
and you know, the the internet said what it said.
(09:41):
You know, it is what it is. But I do
have I have two other things on this trailer before
we move on. Yeah. First off is well, the rumor
so what I'm seeing or saw, I forget who it
came from, but it's making its rounds that the Hammer
of Bravia is actually Supergirl.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
And what is the Hammer of Bravia that.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
I didn't fully understand, but apparently it is a weapon
of lex not of you know, another country or something
like that. So if he happens to have this other
alien that he's been cooped up in wherever, and we
know she's pissed off because that's what Supergirl is, right.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Right, So that's the Juggernaut looking guy.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
Yes, okay, Okay, So then because you know the obviously
the Kaiju is not going to be able to do anything,
all these other things aren't going to be able to
do anything the Superman, So what do you do? You
end up getting another Kryptonian? You know, I guess, I
don't know. We'll see, but again that's a rumor. But
the other thing is we might find out earlier than
(10:50):
we want to about who the actual Hammer of Bravia
is because there's going to be a screening of the
movie on July seven, Evans nationwide thanks to our wonderful
friends over at Amazon. Really, so this isn't just the premiere.
This is a nationwide This is open to I guess
(11:12):
Prime members who can actually get the ticket. So from
what I understand, you have to actually apply for it,
you get it, and then you're able to go to
whatever theaters happen to have it.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
That okay, So it's happening four days before the.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Actual release all you nerds and blurds out there, please,
for the love of everything, keep the spoilers to yourselves.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
It's not going to happen. It's going to be up
to each and every one of us to just not
look at the internet for four days, which is really
hard for us.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Yeah, we have to, but we might have a spoiler
full show before it actually comes out. Well, I know,
there's like filters.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
And things that you can throw on so you don't
see certain things.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
But true, before we move on to the to the
next trailer.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
A horrible trailer.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Hey, come on, come on, man, come on, we'll get
to it.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
I just wanted to mention that that that Hammer of
Baravia rumor might be in Supergirl. Just thinking about it now,
there is that scene where he does get blasted in
by what looks like heat vision.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
So yeah, it could also be Ultraman.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Could be.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
But if it's Ultraman, then they're diving into that the
multi verse stuff, and I hope it's not.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Right. He's the guy we've been seeing dressed all and
frank when they're bringing them in, correct, So I mean
that could be the suit and the shoe gets ripped off,
and that's what he's wearing underneath.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
HM, possible, possible, possible.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
You have a good track record with your your uh,
your thoughts, so.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
I'm usually pretty good with that.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
All right, Well, let's slide into this next trailer, uh
for iron Hearts iron Heart. Now listen, I know a
lot of people are are not impressed.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Uh, they seemingly do not care.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
I for one man, one.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Why why don't you care?
Speaker 4 (13:13):
Baby?
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Because it's not our man. Clearly iron Man is dead
and he's not and he's not in the mood or
the show as his as her.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
AI Okay, I think that might be a misstep on
their part, but also budget, you know, yeah, I don't care.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Then don't make the show.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
I mean I probably won't watch it, but who knows.
I did end up finishing and or.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
We'll tell you a little bit.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
I mean interesting enough for me.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Ryan Coogler is actually behind the director director or director
and directing of this show. I know words were I thought.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
He was the EP.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
He might be, but he's a part of it. I
think he's the director. Might he's the director order producer,
but I know definitely.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Because that's how they opened the trailer by saying he's
from executive producer Ryan Coogler.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Which I think is a smart move on Marvel's part
because right now, Coogler, he's the guy and he hasn't missed.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
He hasn't missed in a long time.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Right. But the big question is, like sometimes with the EPs,
like their names just on it, because like, so the
character originated in Black Panther two, so he's kind of
responsible for that. So you know, are they just using
his name or did he have an actual, you know,
finger on the pulse of the show.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
I hope he does, so do I I hope he
does because I feel like would need that kind of
someone to know how to direct this character, how to
make this story work.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
The directors are listed as Samantha Bailey and Angela Barnes.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Had they done anything else that we may know?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Samantha Bailey, let's see here, Dear White People.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Oh okay, Familiar's Funny.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Brown Girls, and East of Librea.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
I know the first one, yeah, I think of Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
She's done four episodes of Grownish, which is a spin
off of Blackish. YEP, the Diary of a Future President
that was a Disney thing. A couple of things here
and there that's just start in twenty sixteen with your
so talented Okay, I asked for Angela Angela Julah. She
(15:53):
has no credits one episode of Will Trent uh a
TV series called Atlanta and never heard of it?
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Oh Atlanta with uh Child's gambino.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
I take that back.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
So basically, it sounds like that Ironheart is going to
be like blackety blackey black.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
That's what you said.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
I did.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
I had to because I mean those all of those
shows you just name, that's that's the audience.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
And I don't I don't want I don't want this.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
I don't want Ironheart to to just specifically be for
black people because I think as as a character that
she is now, she should appeal to more than just
you know, one group of people, because she also has
a lot of potential. We we know that, you know, technically,
(16:52):
she's coming into quote unquote replaced iron Man.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
I don't even like saying that because it's not accurate.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
That's what Rody's for, right, Well say that's what they
mean the MCU wise, I think Rody will be the replacement,
and he should be.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
They better bring back Terrence Howard and Doom's day.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Hey man, But what I what I liked about this
trailer was that it didn't seem like a lot of
spectacle like. Sure, we got shots of her in the suit,
but it seems like this is going to be more
story driven, which I think is appropriate for this character
because we need to you need to find a way
to get people into her, because I think they already
(17:35):
know going into it that this is potentially a miss.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Yeah. I want to say, with all the rumors that
are swirling around on this one, that that is what
might get me to watch some of this. I'm interested
to see what the Hood does and who the Hood
is tied to. Yeah, and if it is indeed Mephisto.
I know they've been saying this for years, but I
(18:01):
mean it's to my understanding. Didn't we see like screenshots
of sash Burn Cohen in like a goofy yes costume
at some point months and months and months ago?
Speaker 3 (18:13):
There was that Yes?
Speaker 4 (18:14):
So you know, be interested to see what the payoff is.
Maybe you know it'll be a passive watch or you know,
I'm posting stuff on YouTube, you know.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Yeah, I think that we should at least give this
a chance, at least you know, two episodes, maybe three
and to be honest, I feel like it could be
a sleeper, a sleeper hit, much like the Thunderbolts was,
or yes it was.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Yeah. The thing that irritates me most about this and
how it's being received is what's going on with the
trailer on YouTube right now. It's it's ridiculous. So I
don't know what the tally is at at this point,
but you know, we'll just say as of earlier today
there was like one hundred and ninety two thousand likes
(19:08):
and the dislikes were like three hundred and eighty thousand,
like it was. It was.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
I thought you were allowed to see the dislikes anymore.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
And that's the thing I'm trying to figure out on
multiple browsers. All right, how do you actually see this?
Where is it? But it's being posted everywhere, So first off,
that's where my my nose or you know, I'm like,
wait a minute, is this even a legit thing? Or
they just like gassing up people on this? But I
(19:37):
did see like screenshots of it, so I don't know.
If I'm like my settings are set a certain way
that I can't see them, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
You know, what I want to I want to attribute
that to like early on just hate like yeah, all
the people that want to nitpick and not have anything
to really fall back on other than I don't like
it because it's not iron Man.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Sorry, baby, Huey, not necessarily you.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
I just thought, I don't know where, but tot iron
Man is not in it now.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
And I get that, like he should be in it
as the AI.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
But you know, if if if rumors are going to
take place the way they are for Doomsday, then not
understand why why he isn't. Yeah, still you would want
him to be the AI.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
So all, so six episodes, the first three are dropping
on June twenty fourth.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
There's only six, yep, I'll watch it. That's not a
big commit.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
June twenty fourth, and then July first, eighth, and the fifteenth.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
That's fine, I think.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
The only thing I'm not feeling.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
So that's right before Fantastic four.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Yeah, yes, okay.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
And that's it's probably going to be important right before
then too.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
Keep the juices flowing a little.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
Oh yeah, yeah, it seems like they want their shows
to end and before this next days. I talked to
my one friend who does work for Marvel Studios when
Spireman came out. I was like, yea, why are they
dropping all? Like why they drop in episodes? Like what
it was like three two two two three or something
like that. He said, they want to wrap it up
before Dared Devil started. Yeah, So I was like, okay,
(21:18):
I get that, but why not then release it earlier
to then spread? Like I understand you wanting a show
to end before a new project starts, right, So if
they want us to end right before Fantastic four, why
not release it three weeks earlier and release one episode
a week?
Speaker 4 (21:35):
True, I'm all for the once a week release, Like, yeah,
I'm more than an okay with that. I know people
are complaining, Like I saw that The The Bears season
four is coming out June. That's June something, twenty fifth
or something like that. They're dropping the whole season. I'm like, ah,
that stinks because you I don't know. I've just changed
(21:57):
my tune on getting everything all in one lumps versus
every week. You know, you know, more to talk about
if it's weekly.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
I'm kind of true, I kind of am on the
fence with that myself. I like when things like because
it's streaming, I'm used to like the show is just
being there.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
I can watch it, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Uh, but the the once a week drops makes it
feel like how TV used to be, which isn't necessarily
bad like you said, but.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
It's like.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
It's like paying for YouTube rid when YouTube existed before
all other streaming platforms. It's like, you guys are late
to the bus on this. I don't I don't want
to pay you.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Yeah, yeah, I get because you want to binge it.
But then, like Masha said, there's nothing if we binge
it on one week, there's nothing to talk about afterwards. True, true,
you know keep going, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
I mean the news cycle shuts down when you know
you don't get the things you missed in this episode
or here's one hundred eggs from this episode. Yeah, I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
I like writing content. Creators have to get all that
stuff out right away.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Right, And so these studios love the hype that that
that we bring each and every one of us every week.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Hey, did you guys see this? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (23:18):
So I get that, and it makes sense for that
for that measure. But let's let's let's slide on austrailer.
We already mentioned that this.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Is supposed to drop before Fantastic four, right.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
Yeah, corrects, Yeah, because what's the twenty July.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Eleven, okay, two weeks later, So really quick before we
actually jump into the next trailer, because we're here, let's
talk about this. This, this this supposed first look at Galactus,
which was brought to us by our wonderful flavor of Snapple.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Like, yeah, I fired up X earlier today this just
kept showing up and I'm like, what what's going on here?
You know, We'll try to dive a little bit deeper.
I did see like the Snapple thing, and I'm like, well,
even their stuff had to come from somewhere, promotional.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Artwork out, you know.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
Yeah, so it's not even so it is artwork. I mean,
it's it's not the actor who's actually playing him.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
It kind of looks like him. Well, carve out the
you know, the mouthpiece right there.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
If I'm an artist, better be able to simulate what
he looks like.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Yes, yes, and listen, this looks stellar if you ask me.
This is this is actually, I want to say, probably
very comic accurate for Galactus. And yeah, oh my goodness,
I absolutely hated the Fox rendition of of the Fantastic
(25:00):
Four with galat all that from Lost, Like I get
like Galactus appears as whatever you're whoever's looking at him.
That's how we see him in whatever form. But I
don't think anybody looked at a cloud went oh my gosh,
it's going to eat us now, like this is out.
I prefer this, This is awesome. This is how Galactus
(25:25):
should look. And this is also why I'm so stoked
to see the Fantastic Four, Like what, like, what, what
do you think about it?
Speaker 4 (25:33):
Like, I'm with you, I'm completely with you. I think
it looks great. You know, how they manage with the
size is going to be interesting. So we know, like, okay,
he's going to be at least on Earth, he's going
to be larger than some of the skyscrapers. But will
he actually shrink down even more to be the same
(25:53):
size as like read or the thing here's the.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
There you popping a tap on that leak for us?
Speaker 4 (26:05):
I mean this is better than the Lego leak. Yeah true,
because I mean we did we saw that one, but
it's you know, it's Lego Glactus. So wow, yeah, this
is much much better.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
And yeah, it's it's not like it's we're gonna like
a real good look at him. But that's that's fine.
We knew he's in the movie.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
Yeah. Still, it's a concept art to me, so.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Oh, it probably is. But Snapple needs to get out
their ads, so yeah, they're.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Like, let's let's cash in on it. We only got
a couple of weeks. Let's let's do this.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
M hm. Oh wow, it is a couple of weeks.
When when is Fantastic four comes out?
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Win again?
Speaker 4 (26:44):
That's what a week after Superman?
Speaker 2 (26:48):
After Over four?
Speaker 4 (26:49):
It's July before. Yeah, yeah, we'll figure that one out.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
July twenty fifth.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
There you go, So it's two weeks. They move stuff
around on us. They do, because at one point it
was I think they were a week before Superman and
then they pushed it back. That's right, Yeah, I'll be
seeing both.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Oh yeah, yeah, that's no doubt.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Well speak speaking of release dates real fast, I said
it's early in our group chat, but uh, mayhem, number
two has been moved back a year.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Oh goodness to twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Nine seven, right, twenty seven September seventeenth, twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
So you know, it's funny like that. That sounds like
a long time from now, but that we've been doing
this this little circus for a while now, where you know, yeah, oh,
Fantastic four is going to be out five years from now.
Well it's heir, guess what?
Speaker 2 (27:46):
Yeah, that five years flew.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Yeah, it'll be here soon enough.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yeah, It's just it would have been nice because the
way that they are setting up their movie and TV shows,
Season two of that cartoon is supposed to drop and
then lead right into the beginning of the second movie,
which supposed to come out originally weeks or a month later. Nice.
So but that's push back a year now, I.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Mean, as long as it's pushed back for a very
good reason and not just because.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
You know, yep.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
I want them to take the time to get the
artwork right, get the story right, get everything right.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
Yeah, we'll hear about reshoots happening in the next week
or so.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
The reshoots for an animated movie.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
Yeah, oh man, so Spider Man Noir?
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Yes, Yeah, let's let's talk about it. So was it
about uh, last week?
Speaker 4 (28:37):
I know, I we're playing a little ketchup on some
of these trailers.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Yeah, last week, I know, I put it in our
group check that I stumbled on it and I was like,
has anybody seen this because it just seemed like it
was there and not a lot of people were talking
about it. But from what I saw from from that
that Twitter post was it looks great.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Looks great.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Right, we didn't talk about last week because none of
the big media outlets were posting it.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
It seemed like.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
No we mentioned we mentioned the first look picture this trailer,
Yeah we didn't.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
Was when we went to look for the trailer, Yeah
we found. I found a fake one that was very
much like Sin City. But when you actually see the
legitimate teaser, it looks a little bit like Sin City.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Yeah, and you know what, I'm excited for that.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
I love Sin City and I think this this particular
kind of storytelling, uh, is going to go great for
Nicholas Cage because I think that's that's right up his alley,
Like he's.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
It's funny because we were we sharing the Madden pictures.
Maybe we were doing in the other chat, but uh,
like Nicholas Cage is playing John Badden in the film,
Christian Balees playing Al Davis.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
What.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Yeah, so he's got some really cool things coming up.
He does the one thing with the I just learned
this the other day with Spider Man Noir. So it's
it's coming out on MGM plus something like that, yes,
but the next day it's then available on Amazon Prime.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Oh, so it'd be like a one one episode premiere
one MGM plus then, right or something like that.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Well everything, so originally it was just all supposed to
be on there, so you know, you'd have to subscribe
to another thing. But since Amazon owns MGM, you know,
because they owned Bond too, they were talking about that
at some point, not today, Yeah, so keep an eye
(30:42):
out on Amazon for that.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
One, definitely. But what were you guys initial reactions to
this Spider and War trailer?
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Awesome, awesome, so excited for black, black and white content.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
I was just gonna say, I didn't realize they're doing
it in black and white and color.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Yeah, And the color part of it was the surprising part.
I originally thought it was just gonna be black and white,
but apparently maybe it was the black and white is
the special version, I don't know, I don't know, but
that's what it was. Both interesting.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
I'm the Spider Man content, ye know, I'm hoping for
it's the same one from into the Spider Verse, so
like we'll see him with a colored cube or something, hoping.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Maybe, but I don't. I don't even know if they're
gonna they're gonna extended there. Yeah, I don't if they're
gonna tie it in.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
But it's just like an East Regga. You just see
it a quick flashing behind him or something.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Hey, it might happen at the at the at the
end of the season finale, who knows, who knows?
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Yeah, I mean, for the.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Most part it is. It is still a Nicholas Cage,
which I do believe he voiced him in Spider Verse
as well. Ye. Yeah, and Nicholas Cage being such like
a comic nut like this has to be good and
that's why.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
We're getting this show because of him loving the character
and it's Nickel Skage.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Yeah, oh my goodness.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
All right, So let's move on from Spider Man Noir
and then jump right back into the MCU and talk
about Christian Ritter we know affectually as Jessica Jones, Jessica Jessica.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
Let me let me preface this for a second. So
for the this is this is a curtain poll for
everybody out there. We normally record Sunday Monday, which sometimes
has its disadvantages for a lot of informations.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Yes, out news always drops on Tuesday, because Tuesday, prior
to our recording, Uh what was it last week, we
had that SoundBite from Michael Colter down at Baltimore that
has mentioned and we were talking about Kristin Ritterer and
we were talking about, oh, the rumor is and he's like, oh, yeah,
(32:59):
she's He did say like she's definitely going back.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
This was before it was announced.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
This it was an ear hustle, but yeah, he was like, yeah,
she's going to be in this overheard.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Yeah, and then you know what Monday slash Tuesday they had,
uh the announcement. I don't know what the thing was called, but.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
They're out of their upfront presentation their advertisers.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Yeah that's what it was called. And she came out
on Yeah, so it was official at that point, but
you know, we kind of knew it called I said,
officially official. That's the same thing with the Nev Campbell stuff.
We'll talk about in a second. But Christener is awesome.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
She is And I'm actually curious right because, uh, well
we know she's coming back. We haven't heard word on
Mike culture coming back as Louke Cage, although he did say.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
You know you the little wink wink.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
No, you know.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
I won't give you he I told him. I was like,
I don't want any spoilers. I know you probably can't.
He's like, yeah, do don't worry about it.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
But uh so that's a confirmation. Could say anything.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
He couldn't say anything.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
But I'm hoping he does come back to cameo because
I think, uh, this when when they come back this
this might be the era when him and Jessica Jones
actually are a couple at this posslem.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
He needs some more coffee.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
Yeah, yeah, So that would be interesting to see him
come back as Luke Cage and having to be the
father figure but also you know, be the hero alongside
his wife.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
That's that would be That would be dope.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
I would love to see them to try to bring
that to to the show and take.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Down Kingpin and then Luke Cage's mayor.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Yeah. I mean if there's oh man, I was just
gonna do a w n B A reference. Oh it's
almost as good as bet as Portnoy betting on Caitlyn
Clark double.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Last night and she won and he won that bet.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
Yeah, Like I would bet a substantial amount of money
that my culters gonna.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
Be if they're bringing back Jessica Jones, they have to be.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, well they're all coming back.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
I mean Bernthal is already back and they are. They're
already talking about even Jones.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Then John Yeah, but he might. I don't know if
they if he's going to come back as Iron Fist,
they might.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
It might be. Uh was it that played and isn't
he got the shaft with his.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Yeah it was. I think I think we gave him
a rough go of it because he wasn't playing grown up,
mature iron Fist. He was playing I have this special
power and I'm still a kid.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Like if any fans out there don't watch the Iron Fish,
just go watch Defenders. Yeah, he's really good in Defenders.
That that is the best a story to work with.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Yeah, that was the best iteration of iron Fist that
he played. Yeah, I agree on that.
Speaker 4 (36:11):
One sweet I think we need to correct from last
week was that nev Campbell. Ah, we brought it up
that she was going to be in X Men. Yes, right,
x Men.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
We were right x Men, but wrong x Men.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
But she will be voicing was it plarifs.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
Yes, Polaris, who is the Magneto?
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Yeah, but she'll be voicing Plaris in X Men ninety seven.
We should have hit up the ninety seven crew. Well,
we were at Superjers, Comic XBO.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
We you know what.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
Yeah, they might not have known. Who knows this was?
This was just announced. They they probably didn't even get
the script yet, which.
Speaker 2 (36:51):
Means they had the announcement weeks before we even know that.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
They said they already they did all the voicing for
I mean, they would know who's who, but especially if
they're not in the same room recording its season.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
She's gotta be almost done by next They already work
on season three, right.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Yeah, where they might be in the middle of doing season.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
But here's here's the other thing. This was this was
confirmed or this was.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
Yeah, you're right, it was.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Well, I mean, we got to take it with a
little bit of grain of salt because it is Bowden
Mayo and we kind of know that backstory with being
the former showrunner of X Men ninety seven. But according
to his tweet that he put out, he had actually
cast her as in the Polaris role prior to right,
(37:38):
and there was I believe I believe we spoke on
it after his removal that they were going to keep
a lot of things that were already set in place.
But you know, after season two, it's pretty much going
to be a whole new cast, new showrunner, new ideas
that are going behind it.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
And I don't want to say new ideas, but you
know they're not working with with what bo.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
Had for that point X Men.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Yeah, well he did.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Because that first season was phenomenal. We got I gotta
give him met.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
And I will say I will miss his weekly All right,
here's your homer for the week.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Yeah, they still get it, to be honest.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Well, I I have also heard that for season two
they've basically ripped apart. There are there's still the aspects
of his season two, but they basically redid everything.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Yeah, and so apparently the Polaris character is going to
pick up from where they left off with her in
Cold Comfort.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
Now.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
I don't quite remember that episode from the X Men,
the first X Men animated series, but I do remember
X Factor being in there.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
That was if I'm remembering correct, because I binge watched
X Men before ninety seven came out and if I'm right,
Cold Comfort is the only episode that had Iceman in it. Yes,
when Bobby was trying to break in and she found
out that Polaris was with Havoc.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Now, yes, yes, so Bobby.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
So yeah, they could be picking up with the whole relationship.
Maybe she's gonna go back to Bobby.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
I don't know, it depends sidebar.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
You know what I didn't like about them introducing the
Havoc or the X Factor in that first X Men
animated run was they never put it together that at
him and Cyclops were brothers, correct, Janos, right, But it.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Just was weird to me, Like, come on, guys, because.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
She she found out when she scanned their dad's mind.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
That's dirty, dirty Jean Well, I mean, wait, no dirty Diana. Yeah,
Michael Jackson. Anyway, all right, so I got some news.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Oh, let's get into it.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
Since you know, you know I like turtles. He likes turtles.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
How is exactly like the damn SoundBite we have where
I'm not gonna pull it up.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
But but coming August thirteenth, we have a Ninja Turtle
spin off, The Shudder. So since the ending of the
the first wave of Turtle comics, now we haven't heard,
you know anything about Shutter, and the last we heard
(40:25):
of him, he basically went off to another dimension, another dimension.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
I think I.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Can't remembory. I think he went to dimension next, but
I can't really remember. But it looks like he's coming
back to coming back to our dimension, and some of
the artwork looks freaking cool. A couple of different variant covers, hey, feach,
I may buy a couple of variant a bee cover
cover baby, but the cover A is also really good.
(40:53):
But one of the covers shows that Shudder is like
old and white. That's old like white hair now. So
I don't know if he whatever dimension he was in
if it aged him up, But it looks like he's
gonna come back and try and take control of the
Foot clan, So he may be getting back to like
the evil Shudder.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
So question for you, I know you you've been keeping
up with the Turtle series. Uh where they are now?
Right there? Shredders obviously shudders away, His was his his
daughter nephew son is running the Foot plan.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
Right now, cries running the Foot clan, and he does
have a nephew now that he is running a different clan,
I can't remember the name of that clan as though,
but that might be coming coming to a head with
those two clans.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
Okay, because it's from from what I've seen or or
read from the few books that I have read.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
And the turtles run.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
This turtle's run is they they make shudders seem like
this very mythical figure that just this like went with
the shadows, and they're like, oh, well, I guess he's
not coming back.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
Oh yes, that does look cool. And then yeah, this
one so him and you know, thinking like breaking news
shrudders back. I like this one. Yeah, him doing the
superhero superhero post.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
Yeah, that looks awesome.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Listen, I think Shredder, amongst all of the characters in TMNT,
he deserves a one shot of some sort, like we know,
you know, we know where he's where he comes from,
otok Osaki, you know, beefing with with the Amato Yoshi's clan,
and he runs the foot.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
But I want to know this last one here looks
he looks.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
You know what, that looks cool. I just wish he
had a fu Man show.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
And I know this kind of stereotypical, but I just
feel like he needs one to just swipe away like
in uh kill Bill.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
But yeah, it's it's coming out pretty soon actually, but yeah,
I'll interest to see what happens with Shredder. And then in
September we're been getting a Casey Jones spin.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
Off, Casey jonesy.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
Jones first solo series for him in almost thirty years.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
Now, why is it taking so long for him to
get another solo series?
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Good question?
Speaker 3 (43:19):
I thought Casey Jones was like a fan favorite, Like.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
Yeah he is. That's a good that's a question to
ask I E.
Speaker 4 (43:26):
W Right.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
And it did they say anything about him and his
new Turtles run so far?
Speaker 2 (43:34):
Or this one just got announced? So the news is
a little bit scarce on what that's gonna be about
with Casey Jones.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
Okay, but he hasn't been around.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Though he's he's still around. He's in the current comic
books right now. Okay, so something's gonna probably happen that
he'll probably leave that comic to then go into his own.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
Get to give him a one off adventure that we
can follow.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
Well, No, these are the are listened as a series,
both Shredder and Casey not not one shots. Oh so
like ongoing not the limited series they just say series nothing, nothing,
mini series, nothing, limited, just serious. So hopefully it's a
you know, a long run.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
I'll take that.
Speaker 1 (44:17):
An ongoing Shredder series and an ongoing Casey Jones series.
Two characters I think you can do a lot with,
especially with Shredder' I think that one's got me the
most excited.
Speaker 2 (44:29):
Agreed. Do we want to get into and Or?
Speaker 3 (44:36):
I mean, I'm okay with it.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
I would all say about it. Since you guys did
finish it, A lot of people don't haven't seen to
finish it, So I'm not gonna well, really, we know
how it ends, but you don't really know how and
Or ends. What I will say. Last week I said
I made a confession. I said I fell off. I
did also say that I needed to watch something to
(45:01):
clear my palate. Yes, and I did that, and then
I went back and I watched the last of us,
all the episodes I missed. Show is pretty still, it's
still pretty good.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
You can a complain to it.
Speaker 4 (45:11):
I'm back into it. I'm going to watch the latest
one when it I'm available. Also went back to and Or.
The funny thing is like I cut out on like
episode four when episode seven Hits and the the Gorman
Massacre happens.
Speaker 3 (45:28):
Spoiler alert.
Speaker 2 (45:29):
No, oh, that was like a month ago. You're messing
with me, okay, all right.
Speaker 4 (45:34):
Well no that I mean, that's like a big historical
thing in the Star Wars universe, like everybody knows about it. Anyway.
When that happens, the trajectory of the show dramatically changes
and it becomes much more of a thriller, uh to
the end. So you kind of see how all the
inner workings of everything from the you know, the Republic
(45:56):
and the the the rebels, how those things, how everything
just ramps up dramatically and move forward and a lot
of people die, and a lot of people you know,
jump planets and built.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
The massacre is basically like it's jumping point what he
got thrown into jail in season one where it got better.
Speaker 4 (46:16):
Yeah, I mean the you know, the the whole the
whole point of them taking They wanted to take over
that planet, which was I forget that there's so many
other there's supposed.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
To be like this this raw material like right at
the core of it, right right.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
It's kyber Crystal. So they wanted to just take over
the entire thing because they needed that the power the
Death Star. Ah so, and when you look at it
from a political standpoint related to things that like we're
aware of where you know, companies will move into a
particular region or even countries will move into the region
(46:56):
to take their resources for you know, personal gain, it
makes it a little bit more interesting when you think
of it that way. But gotcha back in. Get to
the episode seven and then you're just going to coast
through the rest of it and then watch Rogue one
right after, which was really interesting.
Speaker 3 (47:13):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (47:14):
So Rogue one is the series finale pretty much?
Speaker 4 (47:18):
Yeah, again, just get past the first few and things
need to build in order to get the payoff in
this kind of like the first series or the first
uh episodes.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
I hear you, I hear you, and I think I think,
Like for me, right, I got through the first season first,
I was like, no, it is slow, but you know
the story. You gotta you gotta follow the story, and
that really moves things until you get to like the
very end where it's like, okay, now it's it's kicking up.
But I think, uh again, Like I said that the trailer,
(47:55):
the trailer when it first was announced threw me off
because I was like, oh, it looks like this one's
going to be more were action packed in the first one.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
I'm in.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
The back half, like just like the first season. I
was expecting, Yeah, my expectations. I'm sorry that it was
going to happen a lot sooner. And I think that's
probably why myself and maybe a lot of others probably
fell off of it, like really soon. And not to
say that the episodes were bad at all, because they weren't.
It's just it's so slow. And then like having to like,
(48:30):
let me ask you both, do you really care about
mon Mathra?
Speaker 4 (48:36):
No, my initial response is no, But it's very important
to understand how much of an impact she had on
everything going down, because you find that out in the
back half of the season.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
All right, all.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
Right, I get that, but you know that the build
up and the political stem behind it all is like,
this isn't what I actually want to see. And I
get it, it's important, but do we have to like
fester on these moments so much?
Speaker 4 (49:07):
See I with with me, I think we've gone through
this before, Like I where this goes right, Ahsoka goes
wrong for me? So like I don't need the fantastical,
you know, lightsaber duels and all that crap in the
Star Wars that I want to enjoy. So that's where
(49:30):
this is to me, is better than ah Soca because
all that the weird stuff happens over in ahs Soka.
I like the political aspect of it is. It's very interesting,
and I get why people don't that.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
You are one of one that'st and furious and and or.
Speaker 2 (49:54):
Yeah, speaking of a room that we were not one
of one in we were a fan X. We were
a fan X votes this past weekend.
Speaker 3 (50:02):
Yes, wow, yeah, I got some words on that.
Speaker 4 (50:09):
Oh you know what, I got questions then?
Speaker 2 (50:11):
Okay, okay, so okay, So Moscow, you've been with us
when we were at was a World?
Speaker 4 (50:19):
Yeah, and uh what read Pop was there the one
year too, And remember.
Speaker 2 (50:23):
How it's like how nice and spacious.
Speaker 4 (50:25):
Everything was not my favorite venue. I don't like it.
It's it's it's terrible to move around around there.
Speaker 2 (50:32):
Well, even when it was the World and fan X
uh the other one. Uh, the aisles were you know,
they were tight because everyone was in it, but there
was the aisles were bigger, right, Yeah, they crammed everything
into the front half of the the convention room that
we were in until they give ten times much more room,
(50:53):
which I understand to a certain fault for the you know,
for the celebrity stuff in the back.
Speaker 4 (50:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
So like the aisles were like this, like you could
fit two people down the aisle. Yeah, even like an
artist Ali was a row on the on the sides
of the building.
Speaker 4 (51:11):
Mhm.
Speaker 1 (51:12):
I I just want to add, like, I don't I
don't think artist Ali gets the proper treatment.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
It doesn't. That's why Paul made it a you know,
sticking point with his convention.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
Yeah, and I you know again shout out to that
because that was that was that was phenomenal. I'm glad
he did it that way because you have all the
artists were kind of just lined up right next to
each other, like barely breathing room. It's like this person
persons like if they had to go to the bathroom,
they literally were like getting up and walking past everybody.
Speaker 3 (51:48):
Excuse me for me, Yeah, my fault.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
It's I think they deserve better spacing than that. And
especially all the the creators there that were that were
that were trying to sell their artwork as well, which
you know, the booth sides weren't bad for them. But
when you have artists there like uh uh Crease Crease, Lee,
(52:15):
Charles Soul, Scott Snyder. You have guys like that, I
feel like you should treat them a little bit better,
you know, give like give them the.
Speaker 3 (52:29):
Give them with their name actually invokes.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
Like, yeah, Scott Snyder, which smart. They put him on
the end, yeah right, yeah, in the middle, in the
middle of the road, but on the end because there
was an entrance way, which smart because they were able
to wrap his line around the back of the booth,
because his line was like ten miles long.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
Luckily features and I did get a chance to talk
to him for a little while.
Speaker 1 (52:54):
Yeah, and that was really cool. We got a we
got a good interview. We got a good interview with him.
Speaker 2 (53:00):
And I got to talk to some a guy named
guy Gilchrest. He worked for the Muppets. Yes, yes, So
the funny part is my girlfriend, her aunt actually worked
for Jim Henson Productions and my girls, my girlfriend's just
talking to him and he she mentions the name just
(53:22):
like as a you know, hey, my aunt used to
work there. He knew exactly who she was. Like, he
perked up. He's like Oh my god, I remember her.
We did this and this and this, and he's going
on and on. And he told us his because he
was also a cartoonist for the Muppets, and he told
us this awesome story where when they were creating the
Muppet Babies cartoon that his higher ups said, Oh, hey,
(53:46):
Jim Henson's coming down tomorrow to meet us in the
cafe around the corner. We're doing a show. Call him up, Babies,
I need you to design me the Big six as
Babies gave him less than twenty four hours to come
up with their designs and then go show out to
Jim Henson.
Speaker 3 (54:01):
Wow, Like that's crazy, that's wild. Oh man, I fan XBO.
Speaker 1 (54:09):
For me, it was yeah, I'm I'm I'm right there
with Baby Huey and I've said this, I've said this
with with you in person, and I'll say it again
here like it. It It felt like New York Comic
Con with less people but still just.
Speaker 4 (54:25):
So cons grounded.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
It was because they jammed the people.
Speaker 4 (54:30):
So I'm sure you guys have been to the car
show at some point over the last however many years,
how they would have like multiple rooms fill like the
you know, the basement was the basements just as big
as their primary uh space on the first floor, and
then there's like another floor up top. Was this all
just centralized to the one made like.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Yes, centralized or whatever think it used to be.
Speaker 4 (54:56):
But they couldn't spread out.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
They could, yes, they could have. They could have minimized
some of the celebrity area. They could have and gave
a little bit more room to like the vendor area.
But again they also had a stage off to the
side with they were doing shows that that was like
taking up another half that they could have maybe made
that a little bit smaller. It was Andy Sarcus was
(55:18):
up there talking for a while.
Speaker 1 (55:21):
Yeah, I think that was a screen rant. That was
that was whole hosting. That was the side panel shows.
Speaker 2 (55:27):
And then they had a couple of cause players there
as and they had their own room downstairs. We actually
ran some uh maur while we were there, and he
had a VIP pass and he took us down to
the VIP room. It was just a room with some
tables in it.
Speaker 4 (55:45):
Like it's like when we were at New York and
we had press we were able to go into the
press room.
Speaker 3 (55:52):
But that that but that was up stairs.
Speaker 2 (55:54):
Yeah, that that upstairs room was a whole similar to
Oh no, this was the room size of like you know,
a little.
Speaker 4 (56:02):
Breakroom, yes, like break break machines and.
Speaker 2 (56:07):
Machines. Nothing. It was just like eight tables and a
and a drop cloth with the logo wants you can
take a picture in front of its stupid.
Speaker 4 (56:18):
Yeah. I mean so over the course of the last
four weeks or so, you've seen, uh, We've seen Fan Expo,
which was you know, it's more pop culture. It's not
just comics ything like that Monster Mania primarily monster Uh yeah,
(56:39):
I'm looking for horror, horror, that genre and then before
that and probably the best experience, I would say, well
super is only one of them anyways, Fly experience, but
knowing how I how I feel at other events, you know,
Fan Expo, not fan Xbox, Super Jersey Xpo. And after
(57:03):
talking to Paul, like like with his focus on comics
and the creators and everything, you know, that was definitely
more a comic show. Yes, it definitely came off that way.
Speaker 3 (57:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:15):
Yeah, Fan Expo like like you said, it's it focuses
on fandom, but not specific like not one specific fandom.
Speaker 4 (57:23):
Right, there's like a whole slew of, there's wrestling, there's uh,
you know, William Shatner was there.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
Yeah, Steve, Steve right, look, my girl want to go
see him. She wore a short circuit T shirt. Steve
Gutenberg loved it so much he took a picture of her,
so like, does this wash out the pay for your
for your Autograph feature? We got to talk to uh
(57:52):
mister Superman.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
Oh yeah, Tyler. How do we pronounce Tyler?
Speaker 4 (57:57):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (57:57):
He was awesome, nice, Yeah, and it was it was
it was amazing because like we we approached him and
it was like, guys, I'm I'm about to leave right now.
I'm sorry about that, but I know it would have
been super nice. I'm like, yeah, you know what, I'm
just thankful that you even acknowledged this for right now.
He said, that's that's fine. I got to ask him
(58:17):
like one question. I was like, yeah, I heard you
he did some voice acting. You also did the voice
of Sephar on a Final Fantasy seven remake. He was
like yeah, he's like that's actually something that He's like
that's been out for a while now, but like people
are really nobody.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
Yeah, so he was.
Speaker 3 (58:33):
He was amazing.
Speaker 1 (58:34):
I'm pretty sure like if because a lot of the
celebrities weren't doing interviews at all. But I think he,
given time, would have definitely been open to it. And
shout out to Tyler Hopeland because I feel like that
would have been a really great interview we would had.
But hopefully I can reach out to him and get
him later on.
Speaker 2 (58:54):
Would also his handler of publicist where it was with him.
She was very receptive to it. But we just normally
hand We just normally had this stuff, ye know, set
on beforehand.
Speaker 4 (59:04):
I saw it was probably over the weekend actually, or
the last couple of days. I saw him on a
It was Michael Rosenbaum's cast, so he.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
Was a sign inside of you.
Speaker 4 (59:15):
Yeah, it's funny because his approach on that pod is
kind of funny. It's very low key but very sarcastic.
Oh yes, funny.
Speaker 2 (59:25):
But he does it in his house. Yeah, he invites
he invites the guests over to his house.
Speaker 4 (59:31):
I play for a freaking studio, and of course especially
if you're in like the right area where people can
just come on over. But I you know, I learned
a lot about like him in baseball, So talk to him.
Speaker 2 (59:44):
I'm going to go catch up on that episode.
Speaker 4 (59:45):
He will He'll probably love to talk to us if
we talk baseball, so.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
We will do the interview moshow. Yeah, only features out
of this.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Hey, listen, I'm I'm not good with baseball. I just
know you hit the ball and get a home run.
Speaker 4 (59:59):
This is this is a completely off topic, has nothing
to do with the show, but everybody's gonna have to
listen to it for a second. By send a photo
to you and Mauer about the the special uniforms for
the Dolphins that Miami Vice style.
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
They look they're doing rival rival uniforms this year. Yeah,
they look like City Connects and all that stuff for NFL.
That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (01:00:22):
So to close this one up, definitely go there again, right,
but know what you're walking into.
Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
Correct, I mean, yes, it's been a couple years since
I've been to. Last time. I think it was a
world last time. Yeah, just I was expecting to be
a little more like that, with a little more open aisles.
If they gave a he gave another two to three
feet on each way, it would have been so much better.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
Yeah, it's you walk in there and you you can
get overwhelmed.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Yes, by looking at the first aisle that you're trying
to walk into because again, like you it's amazed walking
through p people and then you have to walk through
the maize that is the aisles and all the booths
that are set up so the way they are. But uh,
you know, aside from that, I think it's still really
is a cool event. Like like like you said, you
(01:01:13):
just got to know what you're walking into.
Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
Like uh.
Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
And again, some of the celebrities that were that were
out and about, they were awesome. They were cool. Like
I got to kind of talk to the Black Ranger.
He was awesome. He was awesome and asked asked for
an interview.
Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
You know, he gave me a respectful turn down, but
he also kind of started the conversation that that we
got into, and it was I know, I was I
was waiting to say, hey, I'm I'm representing that kind
of podcast. I just want to know if we can
get a moment of your time. He's like, oh, you know, no,
But he saw me and was like, hey man, what's
(01:01:54):
going on? Yeah, how's everything?
Speaker 4 (01:01:55):
I'm like everything behind this booth and he walked through
and like, hey, hi, how did.
Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
You get back here?
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
No, I wasn't even in the booth, I was. I
was just right around it. I was waiting for the
finish up with two other guests, and uh, he just
he noticed.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Kieran Nashley, who played the second second Yellow Ranger, was
right next to him. Yeah, she was talking to me
for a few minutes. SOO, she's super nice.
Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
They all seem so so humble and so so nice
and and and like just down to earth and kind
of knowing and understanding what what they have been through,
at least at least Walter from the first season of
Power Range. You kind of go like, man, you really
are upbeat man, like this is and that's and that's
(01:02:43):
really awesome because I I we kind of know the
stories of of you know, what they've went through filming
that show. So I think for him to be as
upbeat as he was, down to earth and so cool
and just in this very relaxed state, I think that's
a testament.
Speaker 3 (01:02:59):
On who he is.
Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
Absolutely, The only question I really wanted to ask him
that I didn't get a chance that well, two really
was who came up with the idea of hip hop keto?
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
And why can I find the power acts anywhere? How seriously,
you can get the Green Ranger Dagger, the you can
find that, you can get the Red Ranger Power Sword,
you can get.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
The Because every time they start making the weapons, they
the company is doing it. They stop making this stuff
halfway through. But the Power Ax was next with Hasbro.
They were gonna do. All they had left was the
Power Bow and the axe, and they were done the weapons,
and they decided to stop making the Lightning collection.
Speaker 3 (01:03:42):
So, man, if you hear this at all, Hasbro, bring
back the Power Acts and the bow.
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
Hey, Playmates is doing the toys now, so maybe.
Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
They'll Okay, well, Playmates, bring the Power Ax up to us.
I want one, will I will pay you.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
That's how you're gonna get it.
Speaker 4 (01:04:03):
Yeah, I got hand the money, all right. So I'm
just looking at the old convention calendar here, since you
seem to be going everywhere. And one of my favorite
venues is the Greater Philadelphia, which up at Oaks the
Expo Center out I love that place. They happen to
(01:04:23):
have something coming up this weekend. It's the it's called
Geekdom Con. I have no idea if any of us
will make it out there, but I just think it's
worth mentioning to anybody in the area. It's May twenty fifth,
and look through the guest list here. It looks like
a lot of voice actors from video games and things
like that or there.
Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
So I love my voice actors as you do. Interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
Cool, you want to tackle a couple of comics.
Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
Before right into our comic reviews.
Speaker 4 (01:04:58):
Comics comics, you're the cue the noise for the comics. Well,
since you guys didn't read Battle Beast, we won't really
talk about that, but go.
Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
Talk about it. I still I'm still going to read it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
Yeah, I mean I read it. I'm nothing terribly interesting
for me. I've got another book that I think is
freaking outstanding and it is going to be my number
one probably until it's done. Ill that's the teaser for
this section a Battle Beast. Uh, guy's a little o peede.
Well yeah, kind of kind of decimates everything.
Speaker 2 (01:05:34):
Is is.
Speaker 4 (01:05:35):
I like the fact that he's just out there, you know,
he's looking for fights and wants to, you know, just
take on anything and everything. I guess, if I'm remembering
this correctly, like his view of of succeeding in life
is being defeated or something like that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Yeah, he's looking for uh, was it the honorable uh,
honorable defeat or something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:06:03):
Yeah, something to that effect. Was like, okay, for it's
a beautiful book. It's drawn well, the dialogue is really nice.
You know, it just seems a little often it seems
like ThunderCats on steroids the best way to kind of
put it, And like you're you know, in the if
(01:06:25):
you love Invincible, I guess this is like a major,
major thing for you.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
So if I read the book, I am going to
hear him in Michael Dorran's voice. That's who voices him.
And Michael dorn if anyone doesn't know, is Warf from
Star Truk.
Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
That's perfect because that's good.
Speaker 4 (01:06:42):
That's kind of who I met.
Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
Beast is a kling Gun. That's exactly how feel.
Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
And that's who voices him in the show.
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
So that is awesome.
Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
When did he When did he show up in the show?
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
He's been, he's been in the show last he's in
I think he's in the first way through like season one,
Like he's been.
Speaker 1 (01:06:59):
He's in a lot this right around the time where
Mark encounters the Syndicate or the Big Rock dude I
can't remember his name right now, and he happens to
work for him, and he's like, oh, we'll get battle
Beast to handle this.
Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
And he just decimates everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
And then he showed up again in this either this
last episode or second last episode of this past season.
Speaker 3 (01:07:19):
Yes, yes, uh they they brought him out to fight
the Veltmites.
Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
He's like, yeah, I heard you. Guys are tough. I
don't know how he does it. I didn't even know
he could breathe in space. He just started going.
Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
He just went for it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:32):
I'm like, this guy just wants to fight, and I'm
okay with that. Just give me a book there. I
don't need a plot. Just give me good, good fight scenes,
good artwork, you know, a little okay dialogue. It's passed.
It's a pass for me.
Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
I I read issue one of the new Gwen Poole.
Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
What do you think.
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
I'm going to give it. I'm going to give it
an issue to my main all right, So my main
issue is I was expecting you know, this all new, old,
deadly Gwen Pool, right, and this first spoiler, this is
six one six Gwen Stacy. She's back alive.
Speaker 4 (01:08:13):
So but.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
But the problem is, ninety eight percent of this book
is Gwen poole, Gwen Poole, Gwen Poole, Like well wait, like, yeah,
the old the old Gwen Pool. Just it's like they're
on her trail trying to find who's killing all these
people and she shows up at the end. So all right,
I'll give it the issue too. But this felt like
(01:08:39):
an old school you know, an old Gwen Pole book,
not you know, a killing dead Poole book. Okay, so.
Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
It gets an issue too?
Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
Is I give an issue to just to see where
it goes? She like said, she showed up at the end,
see what happens.
Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
Okay, all right, that's fair.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
What else?
Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
What else we got? Or are we going around raping becazactly?
Speaker 4 (01:09:02):
Transformers?
Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
Yeah, I didn't read we can do Transformers. Definitely do
Transformers because I.
Speaker 4 (01:09:08):
Jumped back in Thank you. I did actually go back
back and read much, but you know, he kind of
jumped right into the story. Uh. This was pretty entertaining.
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
So the only thing I would say, the only thing
you probably missed in Transformers was they did a Megatron
backstory about two issues about an issue Goka, and you
find out that the Quintisans were testing Megatron and they
kept killing him and rebuilding him. Killing him, bring him back,
kill him, bring him back.
Speaker 4 (01:09:36):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
And then at the end, UH, they gave him this
kind of like a matrix that can fix like it's
it's a it's a very powerful matrix and it can
repair things. So when Megatron showed back up in the
issue before we went to the flashback, I remember how
Ravage had died, Well, he repaired ravageh in like in
(01:09:59):
like two seeconds. So you find out that in that
back storre he has that type of stuff so he
can bring things back to life. It looks like and
that's the corruption of that that dark matrix that he has.
I think it's seeped into the arm remembers. You get
these these outbursts from optimists. Yeah, I think that's what's
(01:10:21):
This dark matrix that Megatron has is kind of corrupting
Optimisk because he has his arm attached. So those are
the outbursts and things that we're getting from uh from Optemis.
Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
Okay, okay, so wait this this this matrix that's one Megatron?
Is it like the uh? Is it like Optimist's matrix matrix? Though?
Is the matrix of leadership or something like that?
Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
Right? I don't know because they've done different versions of
the Dark Matrix. Sometimes the Dark Matrix is tied directly
to Unicron. Okay, so I don't know what what route
they're gonna take.
Speaker 1 (01:10:51):
That's amazing that they give Megatron the ability to self heal,
yet Optimisk is blown away like almost every movie.
Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
Can we do something.
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
About that because Megatron's cooler, and we know that Megatron's
getting his arm back because the free comic book Day
it shows that Opmus has both arms back later on.
Speaker 4 (01:11:11):
So, but this issue was good though what you guys
think of it? It got me back into it. I'll
probably read the next one. I need to see what
happens with U Star the Starscream, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:25):
Which was great. They Mega Tron repair Starscream just because
so he could beat the crap out of them rightfully.
And then he and then he kills he transforms into
his new gun and has Starscream kill Astro Train.
Speaker 4 (01:11:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Wait, I'm excited for the aer Robots.
Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
I was just gonna say that.
Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
Oh see, I've I've fell off from Transformers.
Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
I've my yeah. He last week he told Mike to
take it off his pull list because there was just
so many other things that I do.
Speaker 4 (01:11:58):
Well, you you read some crazy stuff out there. I do,
I do.
Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
I like X Men.
Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
Come on, x Men is fine, there's nothing wrong with me,
I will.
Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
Say, everybody, and if we're good on Transformers, we'll we'll
talk about the one that I think everybody should go
out and buy right now. All right, So this book
is called Exquisite Corpses. Okay, you probably saw it on
the shelf and saw it and saw it and said, wow,
that's a really cool cover.
Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
I haven't didn't read it yet, but go read this.
Speaker 4 (01:12:27):
This is phenomenal. It's uh yeah with you. It's got
a dude with Samurai sword and uh okay. So I
without saying too much about it, because I want everybody
to experience this for the first time, so I won't
say too much. But if let me let me try
(01:12:50):
to sum this up.
Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
If you like.
Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
Battle Royale, if you like uh pubg as a video game,
if you are into squid game, yeah, you know, it
checks off all the boxes of all that. So the
quick synopsis here is it's kind of like a deep
(01:13:14):
state kind of thing where all these families who are
basically running the world, they get together and choose their
champion to fight it out, and the last champion standing
is then or the that family then controls basically the group.
It's it's got like this a massive purge vibe to
(01:13:36):
it because basically they go around and they just take
over a town where this is going to happen. And
this is kind of where the pubg aspect of it,
or even Fortnite or whatever, where like the as the
battle goes on, like the like the battle area. I
haven't seen that yet, but this the first issue introduces
(01:13:57):
like all of the people they choose the battle for them,
and they all have like different masks and different they're
all like assigned different weapons. It's super cool. So this
this comes from you know, we just got off of
not Or of Reading Deviant from James Tinyon, so this
(01:14:20):
is this is his new book, and you know, I
don't know how long it's going to go for hopefully
at least twelve issues, since I think there's like twelve
or thirteen people battling in this. It just it ticks
all the boxes off for me. It's like, this just
looks awesome, So definitely want to read that before you
go to bed tonight, and Hue, make sure you got
(01:14:42):
and get this.
Speaker 2 (01:14:43):
I will get that on Wednesday. This is this is awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
I'm going to go into my one off that I
know I'm probably the only one that read this before
we get into the Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
I'm pretty sure we've all read.
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
But Doctor Strange of Asgard issue three.
Speaker 4 (01:14:58):
I saw it. Yeah, we open it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
Well, I mean, it's still falling under that one world
under Doom banner because it's still picking up from Doctor
Strange not being the Sorcerer Supreme.
Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
So he's now in Asgard trying to not so much
relearn magic but become the Sorcerer of Supreme of Asgard,
and so he's learning magic in a different way. But
right now what's happening is there's been a murder and
it was committed in front of him, and it was
done by Loki. But what we don't know is why
(01:15:33):
Loki did it, because Loki saying like it wasn't me,
I didn't do this. And so now that's the mystery
finding out was he possessed, who took control of him?
Speaker 3 (01:15:44):
Why did this happen?
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
And now.
Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
At all this time, so we're on issue three now,
so after it happened, and that happened in the first issue,
right now, that entire time, Thor doesn't know and he's
the current king of Asgard, like.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
He's the all point. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:16:03):
But by the end of issue three, Doctor Strange gets
back to his cabin and Thor and sif for waiting
for me. He's like, Doc, I might have words with you.
That's how an issue is. He's like, oh, man, it's
about to go down because you know, you know how
Thor feels about Loki and if he's not gonna think, oh,
(01:16:24):
just there's a chance that it wasn't really him.
Speaker 3 (01:16:27):
No, No, he's gonna go, oh, Loki did it? Let
me go, Let me go.
Speaker 1 (01:16:31):
I gotta get rid of him, and we want to
put him out of here. But uh, that's where it
left off. And I'm very I'm very eager to see
what issue four looks like because this.
Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
Is it's.
Speaker 3 (01:16:42):
It is playing out kind of slow, but kind of
not like.
Speaker 1 (01:16:46):
The story has very good pacing and it's getting you
where you need to get to by the each of
in every the end of each issue. So I'm definitely
gonn to pick up issue four of this.
Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
Okay, nice speaking of the One World and the Doom, though,
we got an issue for what you guys think of
this one.
Speaker 4 (01:17:08):
I didn't read that.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
You didn't read it, So this is Doom basically Doom
versus dormmun.
Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
I didn't get a chance to open that one yet,
but yeah, I know where he left off. Dorm came.
He was coming to Earth too, because he Doom.
Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
Apparently has left like a lot of things, like a
lot of the things that Doctor Strange was like defending
what had posts up for Doom was like not.
Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
Paying attention to any of that. Dorma was just walking
through to the Earth.
Speaker 2 (01:17:39):
So I won't spoil anything, but I will say this
that every Doom was about to get his ass handed
to him, and he cast a few spells. He used
to use some certain powers and yeah, wow, so it's
this is good. It's this is Doom using magic like
magic hasn't been used before, you know what.
Speaker 1 (01:18:02):
This is the interesting thing I think about about Doctor
Doom because they don't really go into him actually being
a magic user.
Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
In the books a.
Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
Lot you just mostly see magic and technology.
Speaker 3 (01:18:15):
Yeah, but now as a source of Supreme you kind
of get this understand.
Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
Oh wait, he actually knows some things like and it
gives you a whole new level of like, Okay, this
is what puts doom on that upper echelon of villains.
Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
Yeah, Like he cast a spell to use some certain powers.
And the way he cast a spell, all he has
to say one word to use that certain power, like
a like a like a you know, shink or a
thwip or you know. So Yeah, him saying some certain words,
he starts using people's powers. It's kind of neat.
Speaker 3 (01:18:48):
Yeah, that's pretty dope. That's pretty dope.
Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
So all right, So I want to get into and
I'm assuming that we've all read this one.
Speaker 4 (01:18:56):
I did not, That's why I was being pretty silent
on it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
You haven't read Absolute Batman number eight.
Speaker 4 (01:19:04):
I slipped my mind. I snuck thr Vel twenty one in.
I read that, which, by the way, it's just dirt level,
nothing special. But I'm still gonna read that damn series.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
Y knoweach speaking of with this with the Batman, why
don't you tell us what what Scott Snyder told you
about Bloom and mister Freeze.
Speaker 1 (01:19:26):
So I had, so I asked, I'd asked Scott Snyder
like if like, because I noticed then uh new fifty
two Batman, there's a there's a villain named Bloom and
he's he has the same build as this current mister
Freeze in the absolute run, except that his face kind
of has like this kind of flower butting from it.
(01:19:48):
But outside of that, he's very very tall, very much
like the slender Man, like this new iteration of mister Freeze.
And so what what What Scott Snyder I was saying
was like, there are a lot of similarities between the two,
but the differences with Bloom Obviously Bloom Flower he has
the ability to stretch his limbs, create plant life and
(01:20:13):
cause havoc in that type of realm, whereas with mister Freeze,
he's kind of like this skittering around. If he touches you,
you're pretty much going to freeze and and go cold
and I don't want to say die, but you get
it kind of. But he's more of like he plays
more into the horror aspect, which is if you know,
Scott Snyder has this horror background. And that was one
(01:20:35):
of the other questions I asked him, like, you know,
how does this plan play into how you create these characters?
And you know, as we've read so far, mister Freeze
is pretty terrifying. Yes, Like there's one scene in this
this issue where he literally like crawls on top of
the ceiling and then grips Batman by the face and
(01:20:56):
then shoves him through a wall.
Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
And I'm like, this is I planned for that digit Batman.
Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
Prep time.
Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
No, he did not, And I think that's That's probably
one of the more awesome things about this Batman. It
is kind of like I'm learning on to go.
Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Yeah, this this is a It was really good. It
was a nice introduction to, you know, our new mister Freeze.
He'll be he'll be coming back. But the next issue
is Absolute Bane. I can't wait. I've been wondering what
Bane is going to be, so I'm excited to see
(01:21:37):
what the absolute version of this Bane looks like.
Speaker 4 (01:21:40):
Yeah, and it'd be really small and skinny.
Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
You're right, yeah, that would be crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:21:45):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:21:45):
But also like, well, I don't want to spoil anything
for you, Masco.
Speaker 2 (01:21:50):
I'm tiptoeing around that. I don't want to.
Speaker 4 (01:21:51):
Yeah, know what, I appreciate it because I will read it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:54):
Okay, all right, you read it. I'm not even going
to say what happens at the end, but.
Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
You're probably doing me a service and a few listeners
y yes, yes, for watchers or viewers, everybody a.
Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
Little bit of yes, a little bit of both.
Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
Uh So, who has actually gotten time to see to
read Ultimate Black Panther sixteen? Who Ultimate Black Panther.
Speaker 4 (01:22:18):
I don't think any of us have been touching that book.
Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
I kind of first came out, really has, but I
kind of started dropping off a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:22:27):
I mean, that's fair.
Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
There there was a point in time where kind of
the story got a little bit wonky, but it's it's
starting to come together, and I think in the best
way possible.
Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
So we already learned that vibranium kind.
Speaker 1 (01:22:40):
Of has a sentience to it, and there was this
this one thing that they they they woke up from it,
but now there's this this new being that struck out.
But what he said to T'Challa pretty much was your line,
like your bloodline is kind.
Speaker 3 (01:22:59):
Of possible for what's about to happen next, and we
need you.
Speaker 1 (01:23:03):
You're you're you're one of the chosen ones and so
like right now we don't know exactly what that means,
but man, it's it's got me. I'm I'm interested. I
need to know what's gonna happen next because this this
guy comes out and he's just he's just killing everybody
for no reason, Like he's just if you're if you're there,
(01:23:24):
you're dead, You're you're gone.
Speaker 3 (01:23:26):
I'm sorry, I'm alive.
Speaker 4 (01:23:29):
Sold.
Speaker 3 (01:23:30):
No, you'll like it.
Speaker 1 (01:23:30):
And I mean there's there's a there's a really cool
moment in there where, uh where Storm actually goes into
to help the Challa fight this this character and she
hits him with this crazy lightning bolt and he just
swats it away and hit and reverses it on her
and it knocks her out. Uh, And you kind of
get this moment after that where it looks like, uh,
(01:23:51):
you kind of see like a little bit of interest
with T'Challa and Storm mm hmm. But uh, I'm not
sure where they're gonna are they going to take that
role because in the preview for the next issue, at
least to cover, it looks like you see kill Monger
and uh a Koy the Queen, So it's like they're
(01:24:12):
on a mission together, just like to Challa and Storm
on a mission together.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
So it's like, all right, how are we framing this?
Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
Are we we got this major overall situation happened, but
are we trying to start or form different love triangles here?
Speaker 3 (01:24:25):
Now which, mind you.
Speaker 1 (01:24:27):
I don't mind, because I actually was one that that
was fond of the relationship of Storm in a Black
Panther in the main Marvel universe and sad to see.
Speaker 3 (01:24:37):
It go, but I would love to see how it
will play out here in the Ultimate Universe.
Speaker 2 (01:24:43):
All right, I think that's about it. I want to
go a quick look into what's coming out this Wednesday books.
We got Absolute Flash number three coming out and Ultimus twelve. Yes, yes,
Detective Comics.
Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
Got a new Amazing Spider Man coming out with the
that that hob Goblin issue.
Speaker 2 (01:25:08):
Correct, We don't know. We think it's Kinsley, but it
also could be ben Erch, the Fantastic Four tying into
one world under Doom.
Speaker 4 (01:25:22):
A little Moon Night hey Moight.
Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
No, yeah, I'm not mint he might be. I'm not
sure though, Is that it that's exceptional x Men?
Speaker 4 (01:25:33):
That is, you know, one of the thirty you're going
to pass?
Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
Yes, the only X Men books for me that are
worth reading right now are is x Men and The
Uncanny x Men.
Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
Those are only two. The rest of them are there.
Speaker 1 (01:25:50):
They're taking like this this crazy focus on a bunch
of different groups, and honestly, the main story that said that,
that I'm starting to notice unfold is that the world
is trying to harbor mutants as their own specialized weapons
and tactical team forces. So they're treating them like like
weapons of mass destruction.
Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
Interesting, all right? Uh Superman Unlimited number one, this is
tying into the Free Comic Book Day issue. So it
looks like a tons of shards of kryptonite are falling
on Earth. So we'll see how that's gonna affect Superman. Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:26:25):
Uh with Bug Wars there, did you guys ever read
issue too?
Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
I haven't. I know Minty's Yeah, he's big one the
bug Wars.
Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
Right now, he rare. And we got Spider Man Wolverine.
Speaker 3 (01:26:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:26:42):
Oh, Thing.
Speaker 2 (01:26:44):
Thing number one, Thing number one right there?
Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
Wow, the thing has its own given the Thing his
own book, you know what.
Speaker 4 (01:26:52):
It's probably like a one and done maybe, but I'm
into it.
Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
Let's see. Yeah, there's another there's an issue.
Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
Oh boy, I think number two.
Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
I think number two. The carbon a bulls Eye, That's
what I thought, bulls Eye and the thing, oh target
by Bullseye ship.
Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
Wow, there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:27:13):
All right, so that's definitely gonna get at issue too,
isn't it. Yeah, the thing, all right?
Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
And then what else we got all the other stuff? Man?
Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
Yeah, nothing.
Speaker 4 (01:27:27):
Son, whatever the hell that is?
Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
Rogue Set is almost like a Radiant Black But I'm
not in the Rogues.
Speaker 4 (01:27:32):
Sign gotcha Star Wars Wars like with the uh oh
it's it's Vatican City number two, So now we get
to find out what the Pope's really doing.
Speaker 2 (01:27:44):
Wow, all right, and that's about that.
Speaker 3 (01:27:50):
Yeah, it looks like a lot of indie books.
Speaker 4 (01:27:51):
Dark yeah, yeah, yeah, void. Yeah, it's.
Speaker 3 (01:28:01):
Pretty deecy something too.
Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
Yeah, nothing crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:28:05):
I'm with it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
I think with that peach, you should do that thing.
