Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hello and welcome to the latest episode of that Saints podcast.
So are we back or are we just flat trap bullies?
We're talking all things Saints for August and we're getting
into it very shortly. Come on, nice son head in
the corner.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Johnny Barton lack of that sticker.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
What it's going to the screen?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
What's he going for day me he's trying to keep
the score out. Hey, welcome, I'm Graham Comeliff and with
us today as well. It's the eighteen ste Offord, Gas
Tinsley and Paul Rugby welcome follows.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yeah good, I like saying it's all the bigots as a.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Bat Darren Darren's holaday and adi O Sullivan is on
another holiday and again I reckon that's for this year
on my counting. Yeah, he's going to love that, thanks
to Steve Beach for the last time. Others again probably
on the next occasion. So we're looking at last couple

(01:08):
of matches in August, the Castle and Ways home game
and the Waker game. Looking ahead to some big games
up and coming for the Saints. So I was a
bit tongue in cheek there saying how we flatchat bullies?
But let's have a look up we've done in the
last couple of weeks back end. The last show was
the debarcle at home against Lee What Uff said? I

(01:31):
think on that one we had cast cast at home,
which was easy and easy one to get back on
the mic for after the league game, Paul, you were
the forty yeild win to the Saints, pretty comfortable as
I can see. What were your thoughts on it, Paul?

Speaker 4 (01:45):
It was comfortable. However, I was quite bored during this game,
and it might sound a bit stupid with the score line,
but I just thought we played some very boring rugby,
just went through the motions. But I think Cash were
very very poor advantage of that, and we did score
some great tries, but I did think we were we

(02:05):
were lacking in a few aspects and I just think
because we were playing Castleford, it made us look a
lot better than what we actually was. And I just
feel like coming up, I know, cutting cutting ahead a bit,
but coming up to the bigger games in a few weeks,
that if we're going to go into it with that
attitude which can get steam road like we have in
the past.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Well, I did mention I was I was a bit
tongue in cheek saying we flat track bullies. But we
are beating the teams below us and around us, and
we're not doing much against the tea.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
We've done that for the last couple of seasons, aren't we,
And then it kind of we all getting our high
horse thinking we're going to do something, and then we
come up against a decent team or a better team
in the ladder to us and we just we just grumble.
But hopefully we are making trage. We are better than
what we have been in the past. And like I
said about the cast game, they Diagno a couple of tries,
the Robertson one, especially to hand pick a few sensational

(02:55):
and then kids just keep getting better and better.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
So that's what I supposely keep that. That's the real
bonus of this year is that the likes of Robertson,
seth in In and young Dagnall coming through and looking every
bitter first team player.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
They look first team players. Lord Robertson is beyond the
first team players and England players in the England squad.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
I think so.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Yeah, But Dagno done well and I think you know,
I was looking at some stuff before in terms of prep.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
And let's prepos speak of.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
To be fair, to guess he's got a piece of
paper that.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
The last two games you've con see. I mean the
last five games we've conceded twenty six points, of which
sixteen was against league. So we've had three zeros cast
leads and oh no, yeah, there's another zero I can't remember,
wait for four. So I think defensively we're fantastic and

(04:01):
that that's been coming to on the commentary. Isn't it
that there's nobody touching and averaging about ten A games?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
That's right?

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah, So I think, oh, Carol, don't it incredible? Joe?
I think you know, Cast beat beat Warrington the week before,
So I thought we did what I agree, there was
periods we're clunky out with because we've got Johnny at
six and m bow at seven or well the other
way at seven and six or whatever, and it all

(04:27):
em by does and bomb does. He's just bombited our
last tackle and we could say philosophy, but it is
also you could say it's exactly what Farg's doing and
what they trained on to do. But you know, I
thought that they weren't beating nothing. They and I think
we were.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
A decent score beating them.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Well, they got none, we got forty. There's about twenty
minutes to start at second half where just nothing happened,
which I think when he fell asleep and then and
then we bought Nolls and Leaves back on and then
we smashed the So I think when Nos and Leaves
played for staff and destroyed and then they took him
off for twenty minutes, nothing happened, and they brought them
back on and they smashed him again.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
It's clearly a problem there, isn't there.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, Nose and Les are just wrecking machines at the minute,
and it's great to see. I've never seen it's fright worodying,
really disappointing. I've never seen Nos play better. He's playing
so well at the minute.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
But he's exciting the Dolphin fans at the moment.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
But because you're doing nothing wrong, he's actually.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
He's bringing a tear to our eyes, isn't he.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Well?

Speaker 5 (05:29):
I think the big deal about that is that you
look around, is not obvious candidate to replace him, Not
in our squad anyway, No, not in that squall, but
not not around The league have to go big and
going l to get replaced.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
With going to go big, because what happened after Mattauchia
we didn't replace and I feel like we've gone.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
It was like the pack lost half its power when
he did.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
When it's different when they both went off, they took
him off at once, and they're bringing whoever they brought on.
And just like even visially you I look at the sart,
they're just there and and those two, you know, those
two lads. Mattically he can play eighteen minutes if you want.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
He realy eighteen minutes doesn't right.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
And when your cast and he's coming on for the
last twenty having twenty off, oh no, And then that's
what Amby smashed him again and then the last few
tries winning because he don't cast down.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
If you remember, going back a couple of seasons ago,
we used to bring on exactly what you said. Then
Nose pretty much played the eighty used to bring Lee's
and one and clark On used to do them in
late twenty minutes spells and that first spell that you
expect warms and leaves make headway. Clark to do his
running around done half and jumping on the back of
them guys and then Clark could come back on with

(06:38):
him in the second half. But now we seem to
be doing Clark played like sixty minutes and then either
and By or the young lad Spurns comes on for
the last twenty or Burns gets last two minutes or
something like that. But it is it has worked over
the years where we get a roll on when we
have two or three big forwards coming on together as
well as Clark who gets on the front foot.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
We still have this this inverty COM's issue with the
rotations of the substitution to it because we're regularly end
up with somebody not getting the games and somebody having
five minutes.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
We're playing with fifteen players regularly regular bits because of injuries,
because I mean there's.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Keeping Pasticcion's keeping a settle aside. But that's that's getting ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Burn's coming on for the last ten and before he
got injured, Stevens was.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
A game like ten minutes, and then that Paul had
made his debut for ninety seconds against cast It was
the game before there was a league game.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Yeah, he looks half decent kid him as well, And
like I said, just if you're gonna put him on
the bench. Surely you've got confidence in him, in his ability,
so why not give him that he would have he
would come on against Lee. That it was like if
you would have come against Lee the last twenty minutes
would have run harder than any of them forward that
have been on the picture game.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
If you don't think it's good enough, don't pick him.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Well, I think I d a start the other week.
I think he made thirteen meters of one drive and
party and he's only been on what ninety and Party
had been on for what twenty minutes and made an
extra four five meters.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
That's the way to a new deal.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Well, I think I don't know. I don't know what
to think. I think after the after the league the
league game, I think just getting a win under our
belts again was was key, and we did it in
some style. I'm quite sure there was some style for
fifty minutes.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
Whoever you're played against. Though that defensive record is pretty fantastic.
It will keep us in games even against the better sides.
I mean the league maybe discussing them before that. We
got beat quite easily, really, yeah we did, but look
at the scoreboard.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
It wasn't that.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
It wasn't that easily on the go because our defense
is strong enough to keep us in games, so that
gives us half a chance. You think it's the better teams.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
But lift our pack failed a bit that day because
they've got a big mobile packers. Well haven't they the commadels.
We went to them to be fair, you can't knock
our forward, but I just feel like they got the
upper end. And then once we've gone like our plan
a plan bager out the window. We haven't got anything else.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Then I felt if your packer beating your backs can't
do very much.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
I don't think we have met makers in our park.
I think now rely on worms if to make even
has hard as works from whatever defensive starts, as well
as they are, it's not a big meat maker.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
It's like said at the point I may before, where
we used to bring les and warms on together. Now
we're bringing one of them on at the time, and
I'm thinking bring back leeds and worms are coming on together,
and then have two front rowers who were going to
come on and meet meters and not parsying delaying again,
I give I don't like Delainey off quite a bit
for me. He's not doing it, and he's he'll run

(09:35):
a brick wall and his art there, but he's not.
He's not going to break it. He'll break the odd tackle.
And no, he's not shame he can't play second rod
because that's probably in perfect position for him.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
But I think it would be better off that.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, but I don't think he can pass either, can I.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
So I think you need a bit of pace in
the second round.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
But then you've got party on the back of Delaney
where parties only making.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
But to me, it's a strange, it's a strange development
on on the lately because when he when he first came,
he was he was brilliant, he was great. And now
I was watching him, suddenly he started turning his turning
round like he turns his.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Back when he's getting beat up kind of thing when
he plays against a big pack wiggan Ley Hooky are
he'll turn his back at Castleford same week for last week,
he's running week dropped me and each run and he
was making yards and looking half decent. When you come
up against a big pack. Same with Catalan, he goes
into it and he looks like he's scurt and turns
his back. But I just feel like, especially when you've

(10:31):
got an old Stevens is injured at the minute, he's
got a couple more weeks out, but Noah just deserves
a chance. And I feel like he's injured, That's what
I'm saying a couple of weeks away. But when he's
back for me, he deserves a chance because on paper
he's better than Delayny for me.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
I think I think so on form as well and stats,
and I.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Just think if we had if you're looked at Lee's Warmsley,
then you're bringing in Stevens and another then big prop
forward off the bench, you think, you know what, we
look all right here, But when you're bringing on not
much impact off the bench, and you need impact, That's
why we're not struggling it some of the big teams.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
With even less impact. If we only use it two
of them.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
Next year, because Knowles will be gone and you'll have
a thirty six year old Alex Warmsley exactly.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
Warms he's not even making a week at training now,
apparently he's only he's missing out of the training sessions
and then he's doing the captain's run and then he's
playing again, so just because his body is knackered. But
I know we have the same with James, Robi and
Knowles eventually get to that stage because they're doing so
much on the pitch that it is going to take
it out.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
You worms has been clearly overused for for for two
or three years now massively.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Yeah, but he like, like we've just said then, he's
been our main go forwards.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
And he still is. He's still I still arguably the
best pop in the league.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
We need to go out and sign two massive prop
forwards to big meter makers, whether that's in Australia to
be fair.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Not they could have We missed satire, We've missed that one.
This Sawning who has gone from Leeds to whole Yeah
about them.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
We're just not.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Unless unless unless in the Saints, the good old Saints.
It's under wraps and we haven't.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Disclosed Zelia again the one.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
The one is it.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Canberra?

Speaker 4 (12:23):
We think we think it's died when he got to
reports it was apparently it was all on until they
got into State of Origin team. Then Cameberra drafting.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Apparently new deal and it's a short term fix anyway,
that for me.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Probably Saints have turned around and gone, right, well, we've
offered you a contract. He's definitely been off of the
contract there excepted it. He's got the State of Origin
team Saints to turn around and we're not giving you anymore.
Is that well, I'm worth this now, I've just played
State of Origin Saints. We'll not give you that. And
that's where it's probably ended because a lot of times
Saints do we miss out on players because Saints stole

(12:57):
on money. But he's still got it. And whether it's
a two year contract, if you had a player of
his ability running at you constantly, he's going to make
your yards. And he's a player that Clark Cannon on
the back of. And if you've got and worms set
out of set, well.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
Yeah, I think if he comes over and then is
at it and place, yeah, it would be a good
edition for a couple of years.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
But we need we need somebody like that. We need
somebody who's gonna at least two big prop forwards to
some moments tong and somebody is going to make a
better We.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Have got Lee have pulled in a couple of islands.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
He looked amendous, got the two tries, He's massive.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Lost last year. Yeah, you're looking at Lee lost last year.
I'm looking to replaced him with and to be fair,
the lads have replaced him with it better that that
test and who's only twenty three twenty four.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Unbelieve he's outstanding.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
He could have seen in the NRL and Lee have
paid big money to get him over even that went
trout was Field seasons ago. He looks, he looks brilliant.
He's one of the best UK forward at the minute.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
He'll be in nameless squad. I think.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
The cast game as well, and I mention it again
on Wakefield the only one doing any creative kicks was Sailor.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
I wanted to. I wanted to come to that between
between these two games because clearly they're thinking now is
we've got to settle team and we're fixed now with
Lomax and then by in. The halves are the oldest
and potentially are probably the slowest pair of half backs
in the in the league, quite the world.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
But and.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Bay is kicking as I don't know what to think.
It's produced a couple of tries recently.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
It's awful but.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
Safe for me, I actually think and buys kicking is
that bad? He doesn't mean to do it that it
tricks the opposition. He's not planning out of them kicks.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
The one against Workfield was poor defense. That should never
have got to that ball. Yeah, and that was He've
only put forty kicks up that day, thirty nine shockers
and one that flew.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
But these are these a pair of halfbacks that we're
going to be taking on the bigger teams competitively.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
This seasonally will be.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
But what because Jack's going to come back, and Jack's
going number one without doubt, probably this weekend. Sailor, No way,
Jack's going straight back to number one. What do you
do with sailoring?

Speaker 4 (15:28):
Sailor's got to go into the half, But to be
bails dropped. Sailors playing as a half anyway now, And
because a lot of our tries are coming off. When
he steps into the line and he throws that miss out,
ball of the show.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Is also picking the ball up from the player.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
But he's more confident. And there's always been a player there.
He got slagged off at the beginning, But don't forget.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
I just like to say I've never slagged him off
at all. I've always said there's a player there.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Taylor was totally pro sailor started.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
I've got to a slice of humble pie because I've
been very sily critical and I still am in defense.
I think both of these tries sailing never even got
a hand on that big.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
If you're not the only one, remember then when to
put him on the week's last un impressed with him?

Speaker 2 (16:07):
If he's full back and he's one on one last
man defense, it's a try most nothing most full backs.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Really, if you look back, even back to Ben Barber,
then Barbara's defense wasn't great. Was it wasn't to be
fair Like Sam Tomkin's early days, his defense was shocking,
but what he did with boring Anne was frightening.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Trade off, isn't it? Trade off?

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Jack Jack shops nothings.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Defense was better when he was trying then when he.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Wasn't the Matt Duffy's defense is poor fields, but defense
is very poor. But Jacks isn't.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Gick Field doesn't stop anybody on that near the line.

Speaker 5 (16:43):
Positions change, isn't it? It's not really now as I'm
playing with that's my handing back. It's not on that
last defense anymore.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
Really.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
That's my only remaining criticism of Salem and that's why,
because I think Jack's coming back in and he's coming
back to number one hundred percent, that's definitely going to happen.
Will just drop him by, which is what they should do,
and put Sailor say he defend, we will play him
By because no, I know.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
One hundred percent. Then and By go to the bench
because he's not upsetting them by then, so sail you
can't drop a minute.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
It's his top four because shouldn't.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Sailor will go alongside Lomax, and then Bill go on
the bench because that way he's not upsetting them By.
He's not upsetting Low Max and upsetting Sailor. He's upsetting Wellsby.
He's already upset Whitby. Whitby knows he's not unless an injury,
he's not playing the season. So all Whitby can hope
for now is Low Max and the Bigo in pre season,

(17:39):
and then it's Whitby and Sailor for next year.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
That's like overstated how people there's a big kind of
lobby for Whitby to come back into the team, and
then that would make because so much better if you
think it really, you know what.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
At the minute and I've had this discussion quite a
few times, a lot of a lot of people. Whippy
has mean he's just been solid when he plays. He's
a young kid in need to run of games to play.
I feel like here's not a lot of pressure. I
don't think, No, he's not a finished art any means.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
But didn't didn't check on again eight to ten games
in his first season.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
And look at look at Robertson last year. He's starting
to be right, wasn't He can't catch cold, but he
was brilliant when he got that ball, he was brilliant
and every time. Look, he only need a run of games,
which he got last year. Then he's got a run
of games this year and he's improved, and I think
whip By will be exactly the same. Whippy's playing the
Championship week in week out and standing out and it's
a big step up to Super League. But even when

(18:30):
he's played Super League, you've seen what he can do.
The balls is kicking game and yes, I think the
game he got a head knock is kicking probably was
the worst game he's He's had out a lot, but
he's got the quality there. He can kick for goal,
he can kick out of Vans and he's next sciting
half back which also he attack the line. So going forward,
if he's not gonna play, he's not gonna play this year. Lastly,

(18:51):
at a knock next year he should be looking at
Sailor and Whippy in the half backs, Jack at one
and then you look for me a completely different team.
But until Whippy, how a complete running games really.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Really exciting, That's incredibly exciting, possible.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
But Wellons is the first.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
So we ain't dropping Johnny because Johnny's defense is great.
I just worry about what you know, at the start
of the season. We started with Johnny and and Johnny
and Sailor and it did not work absolutely. That's you know,
in the early games of Johnny playing with Sailor six
and seven. I'm only hoping that Sailor is a much
more confident player now playing on a much faster track,

(19:31):
and that if he carries on doing what he's got
to go when Jack comes back he has to go
Johnny and Sailor. If he carries on with Johnny and
and buy and puts Salor on bench.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Or something, well we'll see. Well, we'll see on someday,
won't we okay, well fourteen against Let's have a look
at Friday's game, which was a little bit. I was
a little bit a little bit concerned because I'm a
Wakefield and a decent side at home, good form, but
didn't turn out that time, didn't turn out that way.
They turned a few over. It was Wakefield four Saints
thirty four. Wakefield's soul tried from Lachland worms late Saints

(20:07):
had too from Felt Robertson, Clark Knowles and Alex Warmsey
five goals and Carl felt good performance, good performance performance.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
I was the best to player this season.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
I think, yeah, yeah, I would agree.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
With that tremendous performance that Wakefield side our own with
a full crowd, even flats for four balcony going dad,
is that like a block of flats that all looks
to get most that that's a genuine standard looks like
a flats. But but they you know, the beat leads
and everybody pre matching to Wakefield, rat boy Wakefield and

(20:43):
Wilkins was on the you know, I saw Wilking go
Wakefield more splinters in the sign we went for Saints.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
It was a really good, proper, really good job on
a good good side that you know, Sailor again was
very very prominent and that one were I mean Robertson,
that try Robertson scored. I mean I felt for the
young lad. He should he should have put that out
and he learned from that. But to come around the
side and stay and player get that ball dout. But
again it was from a Salor girl. There's no good

(21:12):
in bloody and by not one and it was. It
was just a really really good performance. Continued development of
of of Dag Nolan, Robertson stage. You know, Robertson is
going to score at some point.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Steve, what were your thoughts on on that attacking performance.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
I thought it was very good.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
First half, that first half hour, that was the better,
like I said, the best he played this season, I thought.
But I also thought that second half we sort of
played within ourselves a bit.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
They came back a little bit, they improved, to be fair.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
To them, but I thought that we quite you know,
had the same sort of threat about the second half.
It's going I think two or three tries still second half.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
But yeah, three tries and the second half we quite
look the same.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
I didn't think going forward as we had in that
first half.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
We were actually in the first off really really good.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
That's quite quite a high bar because I say it's
the best we played this season.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
But again again I think it's down to sailor a
lot of it. It's good to go a team attack.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
This is the they all are poor teams. Is great, yeah,
and Wakefield a lot of poor teams. I said to
earlier Wakefields the acid test, and he certain he came
through it. But we'll see when he goes. When you know,
we get okay on and wing.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
It's surprising that everyone's tipping Wakefield to Window because we've
beaten them twice before.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Number We've got Wakefield and leads number and I don't
know what it is.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Leeds always beat Lee but Warrington beat Warrington, got.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
Hours and then we wanted to wait first turn over
a lot of top teams and we just took it.
At the minute, we're constantly tipping over the edge of
Lead and Wakefield, but they are all turned in around
watching a lot of.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
The games that wanted to beat us early in the
season when they had a stronger squad available than they
do now.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
A lot of injuries now were terrible.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
Kind of we don't play the end of in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
There won't be in the playoffs now.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
A couple of a couple of issues there. When that
game the you had a card for Delaney, I thought
was red A stone wall read all.

Speaker 5 (23:13):
Day long, shoulder to the head. And the explanation that
it wasn't in a falls I thought was quite bad me.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Really, I felt it in my living room.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
What's she doing?

Speaker 2 (23:23):
You actually heard the noise on the screen.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Yeah, if somebody would delaying, he would have been dead.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
That's the thing. If around we'd have been screaming for
a red card exactly, exactly.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
A bad challenge. I thought it was a red all
day long. And then for him to not get a
band is another. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
He got five penalty points in there, and there's these
convoluted new Yeah, I don't really know that to five
points what I think.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
You have to get to get to wait before you
start get I.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Don't understand it.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
You got three or four last seasons before. If you
hit someone slightly late with no falls, you'd get a band.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
Now you can do that would have been a bad season.
The season before that would have in a red.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Got to find a happy meeting between those two extremes.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
I think, yeah, and that's the injury to Winfield and
known the details, and that looks like it. He's he's
not the luckiest player.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
He doesn't even begin just it's like if.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
He didn't have bad look, to have no look at all.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
He just you can't he can't get a break it
in there. I think to be fair, this will probably
if it is a long injury, I think it would
be pretty much done for him.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
And I think I think Cero's failed his hire, so
we won't be available.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Yeah say he feel so he won't play.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Second ros left.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
We're struggling in the pack for playing well back in maybe.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
He's been playing well, is just getting a bit of
confidence and think getting on the games. But like he's
just said, thing, you've got battering and Bell who's playing
in the twenty months the last two weeks.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
It seems determined not to pick James Bell for some reason.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
I don't harder seen him with him. Hasn't he go home?

Speaker 3 (25:03):
So his bachelor but he's been brought in there now
again have to play.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Him at some point play the accidents has been injured,
they have the bacher and bow.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
Bachelor's played a couple of times he got injured again,
and he came back in and inured again.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
A little shout out at all, shout out to Darrell
Clark for his four hundreds game on Friday. I think
he had a couple of injuries earlier in the season,
but he's looking like the Darrell Clark we bought brought
in from Warrington.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
The great try against cast Yes, shocking defense which just
picked it up and ran.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
It makes some massive difference. If Clark's got to go
forward out you said before, If Clark's not playing on
a broke, if he's playing on the back of a
broken park, then Clark can't stand out. If you get
if he Warms is running on the back of him,
that's when Clark looks good. You're going to win that
roock Togain exactly.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
If you're not the rook Clark, your first movie is backwards.
If you're not winning the rook, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
But there's only really Warms, you know, Well, that's the problem.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
That's when and there's there's only so much, there's only
so much.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Left, and then in the tank with as well can
do it, but the others.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
If you've got Warms you're doing his yards, Lee's and
nose all on the bounce, then they make they make
good meters. But if you've got warms with then a
half hearted drum from Delayney and then you're looking at
like a parsi. You're thinking there's no word for Clark
to go here. But if you get ahead of Steam
up Clarks off then and that you jump. You've got
wells outside on Wellsby's back sailor, and then the outside.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
We have got.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
We have got good backs, got a lot more paces
here which we haven't add and we need to use,
and we've only got place. It's even better now because
we've got players coming back which is going to make
very good competition for places which we've not added in
years and years.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Murphy, for me, food as he is, he's not going
to get a game.

Speaker 4 (26:52):
No, no, you can't say Dagon that No, Dagnell can't
be dropped, Felt can't be dropped at the minute. But
it's just feel sorry for Murphy because he can finish
a try. He is a brilliant finisher, and he is fast,
not in his speed, but because of his injury he
should be left out. So you can't drop Dagnore right now, No,
not at all, and then same.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
With watch you watch on someday droppagna for he'll dropag
for sailor that's what he'll do. No, definitely to get
get well.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
If wellsby Fitty starts, he has to.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
Still beyond the bench. And then he'll go to Clark,
which is a real kid. Yeah again, but he's want
to getting five minutes a game and that's mad.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Yeah, okay, all right, we hope so in a fortnight
and he's Johnny and then by.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Just talking of that game, the next the next game,
they beat Catalans at the weekend, which is no great shakes,
but they're coming into a bit of a little bit
of form. We should it should be a regulation win.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
I still think it just players back and that kid
Flanning and he's outstanding. He's a good players, a.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Similar players like Harry Style six.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
For those that will be outside of him next year,
he is.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
He is one of the standards because because.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
He's not playing any great side and he's scoring two
drives a.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Week, he's a good lad.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Refers kept they signed that guy guy and that guy
guy is a rubbish player and he's exactly with sailor
the gay guy to wing? Haven't he to let Flanagan play?
Flanagan's standing out massively? Now gay guys playing really well
on the wing.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Is that Dane's brother? It's because Jacob guy, isn't It
might be.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
Some relationship relation. I'm not sure what.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Mm hm.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Poor others fields problems. They blowed the budget onto birds. Yes,
he's not playing strength and depth as a result.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
That's fair comments.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
There's an argument to say or just field. Couldn't you
try WHI being say, because you're going to win that
game anyway?

Speaker 4 (29:03):
You thought, No, he's not going to change.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
I said the other week. Give the game is the
Cast game? I'm like, why not play Whiby against Cast?
We're going to win that game.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
But the team, it's all about the It's all about and.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Then But the problem is that particular that team with
those half backs in the in the three games after that,
the whole car wigging and lee all in two weeks,
is that half back combination going to be enough for
those games?

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Any possibly get out of that run?

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Three games will be with boners.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
You just know what's coming. It will literally be the
most boring rugby ever. Sing in your life Saints to defend, defend, defend,
will just trying to bore them to death and then
hopefully and Alex Warmsy makes a half break and someone's
backing them up, or Clark makes a quick break and
were somebody jumps in the back of it because you
know what's coming in it's leg. We're going, okay, it

(30:03):
would be the most boying everything in your life.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
We want watching, but we want no. But isn't that
the time.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Isn't that the time to try and play some rugby?
You should do because you've got to beat those teams.
You've got to play rugby.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
I don't understand why you don't have the same game
plan or we or we do it the minute for him.
But if we come out of the game Plantain of
the Year, no matter what team you play, we change
our game plan. It's catialan otherfield will be completely different
if we played. We should have the same game plan
whoever we play. And at the end of the day,
you should have a plan of A B and C
like we used to. You hit the winger at the

(30:41):
second row, around the back, the fore back, around the back.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
But we've shown it in glimpses that we can do it.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
Some stuff we do, but not against the big teams.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Well, if you play sailor, let's say, let's say for arguments,
see Jack comes back, which should be marveless, and he
plays sailor with Johnny.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
Brought me.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Mike plays sailor with Johnny and it goes well, S's
got to stay with it, then k saving because but
then then we are, you know, when we are much
more exciting. You know, if you've got jacket one sailor

(31:20):
at six and sailor players like he's been playing, yeah,
we could be really exciting. Robertson Dagna.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
You look across the park then and you look at
Robertson and dag No wellsby Sailor anythink haven't we exactly?
And something that had for a while. Felts can finish
from anywhere pretty much Perceval. Yeah, so you look at
that competition for places again, we're not even mentioning Cross
coming back. Cross doesn't get into that starting lineup. But
the good thing about Crosses where a lot of people

(31:48):
Saints offer signing him. He's been great. You're looking at
a different squad now of Perstval and Robinson. You're starting centers,
Cross to come in where we've had perc.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Ofval to come in, Davis Whitley to play.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
And then you're like and then you're playing players out
of position. So now you're looking at you're starting. I'm
not thinking we're looking.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Strong Cross me at all. Four different positions of him was.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
That he was brought in to fix of emergency, short
term problem and now you still got him and he
ain't gonna play and everyone's fit.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
I think I think it's very good.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
He's a good I think he's a very good back up.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
I think it's a very much. But you won't he's
not on a great deal of money. He's not on
a great deal of money, saying to probably turn around
to listen, when we're fully fit, you're not going to
be a starting center, but it's your place to warn
that spot. And every time he's played, he's not let
anybody down. He's a good player. You can also play wing, yeah,
and he can. He can cover a number of positions.

(32:49):
And I think that's the backup players you want instead
of Bennison, Davis or he that kid comes in. I
think he looks completely different.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
Murphy Sambo. Yeah, we don't get much game time because yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Which which is because you've had two wingers, one gets injured,
somebody's coming in who's not fit for the role. You know,
I went to Warrington away when we had sambur It
centered and Venison not wing. We've come a long way
since then. We have a long way and it's it's exciting,
you know that that Dagnall is a super league good
super really exciting.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
It looks like he make a decent sense.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
Literally he could play at center as well because he's
got he's got good hands and not many wingers have
good act They can finish a try, but he can
finish a try. But he can also passable. So it
is and like you said, hafter season on, the competition
for places of what we wanted or we need now
is the competition for places in the forwards, and then
we look like we've got a decent squad.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
That's the thing.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
I'm in.

Speaker 5 (33:51):
The pack is the issue, because without a good pack
you can have as many great as.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
You are outside.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
The back.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
That's getting that combo member is not the answer.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
Absolutely, I can't. We can't give him a new contract
next year.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
We can I think I've heard a fairly solid dream
of it. He's got a coaching John.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
I'll celebrate, I'll take him to you.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
But the other one is another one words Connie.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
He's DJing at the Mountain Connor.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
We are now five four or five months into the season.
He hasn't played. He got a new extended deal. You know,
if we could get him fit for September and he
wouldn't get a game, but he's a cracking How can
we give him an extra year and he doesn't play?

Speaker 4 (34:42):
That we've just said just before we started the podcast.
Then we talked about that David. David's got a new deal, Beneson.
You think Richard's got a new deal and not even played.
So you're looking about over two hundred grands were players
players who play exactly it's awful. And then throwing too.
I know Bell and Bachelor, but when they've been fit,

(35:04):
Bell's not seeming to be getting pipped and Bars not
on a cheap contract. You look at the money there
that we've got on rubbish, you think we could definitely
use that in different places.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Well, the proof of the puddle will be in the
eating when the new squad comes out for next year
and we see where we are if we're actually.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Used the week before the season tickets run out.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
If if we've used the the salary cat wisely, and
who we brought in, because at the moment we ain't
bringing anybody in.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Every other fortunate that they have brought them through.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
Every well we brought them through. I'm arguing. I'm not
arguing against that.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
We've been very lucky.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
I think I might wish, certainly that that was the plan.
He was to seem to be seventy eight percent academy products.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
That great, if the good enough.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Yeah, it's a dreaming it.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
But we've lost it now, he says when he's here.
You know, apparently the Alton Hornet's now feeding into Warrington,
you know.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Fat with feeding into Wiggan.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Yeah, yeah, exactly if I after the super fatter week,
my son's age the sign for wigging, you know. So
we need to we need to sort that out because
that's always been the sort of life blood, hasn't it.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Well, yeah, that's a setup of the club. But we'll
we'll see how that moves in the next couple of years.
But it's going to be it's a massive off season
for saying this.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
The sixteen players out of contracts and you're looking at
who's going to stay, I'd probably say i'd keep Matt Whitley,
Syon and potentially apparently Synon wants big money. If he
does want a big contract, then I w I wouldn't
be forced to see him go. He has. He's been
grate for us, don't get me wrong, but there are
better players out there than him, and the money that

(36:42):
he wants to stay, I'm thinking is it worth keeping him?
But if you do stay, I'll be happy with it.
Matt Whitley i'd keep, And apart from that, the young
lad who's got ninety seconds of a week is cow. Yeah,
his contracts up again, if we've seen a bit more
of him, I wouldn't be If we give a young
ladder an opportunity, then so be it. But apart from that,
the thirteen you can go the rest of them pretty

(37:04):
much and go, well.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
That's it's allow play. It's all players to find to
replace them.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
H And then you're looking cohesion as well.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
You're looking at five, ten, twelve changes. You squad take
six months to get compete.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
Then if you want to win stuff though, you've got
to be like that. You know they're getting rid of
some really good players, but they're not good enough players
not quite I mean, and they're not quite like Noons
and like they're not quite good enough, and they're shipping
them out and to buy real top quality and we can't.
We have this argument every time, and the argument always is, yeah,
but they're only on a small salary year, they're only

(37:40):
but I also there might be ten of them months.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
But ironically, are we not in the best position of
all the clubs at the moment for buying players? If
you think about it that we've got big olds in
the squad.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
If we carry on the way we're going, all of
all the decent players are snapped up before we even
start going to the market, because we only look at
the market September by all accounts, apart from that last
year was ann Outstair was it year the year before
he was announced the Eastern and announce in the week
four seasons.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
Well, there's a there's a rumor, well, just just to
finish a couple of the items, we think party has
been giving you one year deal something that's probably because
the bomber's decision, well probably because properly he has fallen through.
So there's a logical sense.

Speaker 4 (38:21):
Looking keep looking.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Why we can't have him, so we'll just a climb party.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Mess has fallen through. Yeah, we've we've reassigned Phil Thompson.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
I can't get me a grounded No, I'm thinking the
way the club worked. He's there, they know and we'll
stay another year.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
When you get the other argument again, it won't.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
Be on a big Well, we just mentioned players there
we were on contracts. There's over two hundred grands ship
contracts there that could go to a couple of half
decent players and.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
I'm just saying that's the way, that's the way things work.

Speaker 5 (38:56):
Twenty players who are on very good money because they're
not really good went up with they're not very good.

Speaker 4 (38:59):
Team want it.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Yes, it's a logical and conclusion.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
We have to look at the what we've done in
the backs now Dagna coming through and cross. We've got
competition places. The cross hasn't cost a fortune. That's what
we want to do, bringing good players who are out
on a great deal. But we've got rubbish at the
minute and we just need to ship them out. Yes,
it might taken overs six twelve months to get galled
and stuff, but we're willing to take that chance. We

(39:24):
don't want to see the same ship that to.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
An extent, you might be right, and that's what they're doing,
if the twelve of contracts and not keeping them.

Speaker 4 (39:30):
But surely if they need to be working on that now,
surely you can't just announce twelve players in September. You've
got to filter through a couple now and then over
the month.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
Well the fans, the fans like to see a plan exactly.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
Even have had a plan at the minute, like a
two year plan. This is what we're going to do.
We've shortlisted the coaches, these are the players we're looking at.
If it comes off, it comes off. But at least
they've got a plan in place. Well left, see, we're
going to do a two three year plan. Her first
year is working. Second year they're bringing in that. It's
only from Leeds and Bell Bachelor, so you think fair

(40:04):
enough in the link with many Aussies in the r L,
so you think fair play to room. There's one of
those seems to beat stolen and but we didn't give
him a ten year contract, so that'll come back to
back when in the arsen a couple of years. But
at the minute, it seems to be doing okay for him.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
Well, what's the space saying about.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
Jack coming back?

Speaker 5 (40:25):
I find that surprising. Then we come back now, and
when they said it was going to be sixty now
it's about five weeks ahead of that. It's a bit
I'm concerned if that's If that's a concern, Yes, surely
they're not going to bring in.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
We don't need him.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
They don't need him for these two games.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
It's an easy looking that's right. I wanted to play
last week at Waiting Field. I'm like, this is not
a good idea. I just feel it.

Speaker 4 (40:52):
All.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
If he's fitting, he's ready. It's like for me, it's
another dimension with beating teams forty thirty for we don't
like this style and something. But it's for me Jack
coming back in as well, and it's like, you know,
let's be on. We're bringing back in wating teams like this,
and then we're bringing back in our best player. It's
like again, it's bloody exciting. You know what, what if

(41:15):
he shifts them buy On puts sailor at Sick, we
could actually start playing some really great quick stuff.

Speaker 1 (41:21):
Yeah yeah, well it depends how conservative.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Read on Facebook idiots scene. You know, Sailor's got to
stay at one. Sailor has got to stay at one.
Seen jackets sick.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
CRA's best player, C's best position is one. Sailors proved
he can play it too, and wing or whatever. He
flips around and he does that.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
I thought about this as well. If he drops stagno,
just so Sailor can get a game.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
That's mad.

Speaker 4 (41:45):
That's absolutely true.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
But there's no there's no reason Sailor and well as
we can't play the same team. For me, yeah, and
the way the modern game is, they can switch around
positions on attack and defense, but they don't make another
difference to make.

Speaker 4 (41:57):
Most of sailors contribution has been in the line when
we've scored tries anyway.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
So he's quick, He's got really fast hands.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
I think it was also he never gets caught out
at full back and he always gets through the gap,
doesn't he.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
In the gap? I just I think the defense is
that Gordie protecting him because, as I said earlier, the
two final le tries, it was like he was playing
tick rugby. He got absolutely nothing on the guy. If
you watched them tries.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Back, all four of us wouldn't have Got would have stopped.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
Him as a massive guy that import superstar away, but
Jack might have stopped him, and he would have certainly
slowed him down. Sailor didn't even slow him down. It
was like he ran through a piece of paper. And
so that's why I think it's it's a no brainer.
Jack needs to go back to one and say that.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Don't have an argument with that, but we need to
keep saying the team is like because his creativity.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
And then an interesting thing is if that doesn't work again,
who's the four guy.

Speaker 4 (43:02):
I think we've done a lot of swapping and changing
early doors, and you feel a bit for Whipby because
he's not in. But why didn't play with solid Whitby
played with a different six seventy?

Speaker 1 (43:10):
He did, He did a steady game, and By and
low Marks.

Speaker 4 (43:13):
Have had a good run of games together. So again
to Whitby and he won't. We probably won't see this year,
Like I said before, we're unless the's injuries. He'll come
in next year hopefully, and if he's playing had a
complete offseason with ever he's going to be playing alongside
him at six, then we'll see a completely different George Whitby.

Speaker 5 (43:30):
I don't think Jack at six would be a major
issue if we had a better seven.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
No fair point. Yeah, we haven't got wet.

Speaker 5 (43:39):
Going to it didn't work, But it didn't work because
we've got either buy or law Max.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
You watched Johnny and he's still doing all those same
like little drop off balls and when when when he's
going to go when he steady?

Speaker 4 (43:50):
Yeah, skip doesn't he as well? And you're thinking, Johnny,
that went five years ago, but it would be interesting
to see because his rumors going arounds that, Yeah what
because rumors are old and wanted and willing to pay
big money, So would he go there? But then now
the likes of York Old and Bradford spending this money,
do they know something we don't about coming up next year?

Speaker 1 (44:11):
We'll come down. We'll come to that in a second.
Just a quick word and our thoughts with Mickey im
and his family after his terrible games this week. Terrible
thing to say to see it happen, and just wish
him all the best. Not much more to say about that, really.

(44:31):
I think they think the way he gave his news
out on a full interview with John Wilkin and Janna
Brooks on the bench was was really solid and good
luck to the lad and hopefully he'll pull through it.

Speaker 4 (44:44):
Yeah, things crossed the other.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
Writer we want to discuss the super League have confirmed
all the clubs voted to expand to fourteen teams. It's
still subject to some sort of committee approval. I'm not
quite sure how.

Speaker 3 (44:56):
That works, but no ideals approval.

Speaker 1 (44:59):
I'm not quite sure. It wasn't Nigel's approved.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
It was somebody has that has already approved it.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
I have done then, Yeah, I hold my hands up.
I've always thought it was better option of fourteen teams
than having loop fixtures and playing teams three times a
season or whatever. But again, it comes down to quality,
It comes down to competitiveness. I'm I'm more confident because
of the such success that Lee and Wakefield have had.

(45:26):
But just to throw it out for your thoughts here,
stay sty, I know you've got some thoughts on this.

Speaker 4 (45:30):
Well.

Speaker 3 (45:30):
I agree with you about loot fixtures. I don't think
anybody will miss them.

Speaker 5 (45:33):
No, because as fans match going fans especially, we all
hate that having to go turn up and watch the
States players offered it all twice.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
There's been no.

Speaker 1 (45:41):
The points really well, watching the need to keep going
to the center of the season.

Speaker 5 (45:47):
I also think at the moment there isn't enough depth
for to sustain fourteen teams. We haven't got we haven't
got twelve good enough. Now you look at the league,
now there's like nine. If you can't Warrington, there's nine
decent teams and the other three had cast a drift family.

Speaker 4 (46:02):
It all repends what the teams coming up are going
to do, because if you look at for years and
years and years, every team that went down, oh sorry,
every team that come up just bought the rubbish from
the other teams that dropped me and had been let go.
So what Lee have done, and I think Lee have
been a credit to you believed for doing that. They

(46:23):
were the first team to get promoted and spent big
and then it was the first yeah, and then they
won the Challenge Cup on the back of that. They
spent big. And to be fair, Beaumont gets a lot
of slagging off, but what he's done there is set
the boundary high because wait, Verson exactly saying this year, wait,
Verse thought, you know what, we need to spend big
otherwise to the bottom again and wait till spent big

(46:45):
and then mid mid table to you now with the
likes of I don't know, York, Oldham and Bradford, the
three that are coming up, for argument's sake, they all
spend the money. All of them are spending big at
the minute, which is good to see. Bradford has started
spending and you're must know something we don't with the
likes of Van and a couple other players going in,
if you spend big and come up spending big to

(47:07):
stay an lately different competition then so I'd just like.

Speaker 1 (47:10):
To say thanks to Stealford, welcome, Paul Rigley, thank you
very much, Gas Tinsley, thank you. I'm Graham Comiff and
we'll see you again in a couple of weeks
