So they don't let him come to Uncle Tod's house.

I'm home every day from eight to five. No, he
can't last from eight to five without somebody being there.
Why well, he's got to be fed at lunch and
let out about four times, so.

I get home at five o' four o'clock.

That's why he doesn't come to Todd's house because when
he goes come home, when he goes to Katie's house,
he gets played with all freaking day long.

And the quality is just a billion times better than
what I was using. So all the designs have been

I've redone and so and then so I'm redoing and
I'll have a new seventies Buzz podcast design. And when
you order, I mean there's literally some of the seventies

Buzz that are like faded, like you can't. Like one
of them on my white T shirt, you almost can't
see the design at all. It's like faded that much
out of the T shirt.

No, that's what I'm saying. The quality just it was
so bad.

So the quality of.

These that my chuckle Berries I think I've watched at
least four times now and it still looks like the
day I got it.

So the quality is going to be way better. Michael

So Yeah, So Todd is back from his vacation, from
my big vacation, and.

I did not get eaten by any bears. Did see
a bear? You did see a bear?

Or the one in the airport?

Well, no, not that one. You know.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Apparently they don't call they don't call brown bears brown bears.
They call it's either a grizzly or a or a.

Shoot. I can't remember what they call it.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
But I was informed that no, that's not a brown bear.
That's oh what I can't remember. It's too much, too much,
too much going on. The only time I saw bear
was when we were driving. So we stayed, you know,
we stayed at the lake, and we we had to

leave the lake Friday because that's when our time was up.
We get back into Menden Hall, which is like a
suburb of Juno, like from here to walk Homas, uh huh.
And so between Larry says, Kodiak maybe maybe, and between
Menden Hall where the airport is and where our hotel

was because we literally walked across the street from the
airport to our hotel. Uh uh, So we wanted to
go in town to see Juno. Just a town which
is a small town, like thirty thousand people, but it's
it's the capital of Alaska.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Yeah, and we don't.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Well, I'm not gonna let him go too far in Alaska.

Dave asked about a rabbits foot. I've got a green
rabbits foot. I'm surprised I haven't showed everybody on the keychain.

I've got my original Hacky Sack over here on the shelf.
So yeah, Dave, we we played plenty of Hacky Sack.

He's not a.

Huge Tom Cruise fan, which I totally agree, Dave. I
totally get it once I heard that scientology crap that
he was doing with his daughter. I have not watched
a Tom Cruise movie since.

But he does say the new mission impossible.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
I'm not watching it.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Oh I am.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Well, but I've seen them all, so I've got to
see the ending. And then I've been getting all the
videos on all the stunts he did, and this is
going to have to be the most stunted actor stunted
movie of all time.

Well, he's trying to get all that crap in there
before AI takes over. Probably what it is.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Well, I guess, but like the scene. I think this
there's a scene where he jumps out of something and
he got a parachute and it catches on fire and
then he's like falling. I think they said he filmed
that twelve or thirteen times.

Yeah, yeah, some care. Yeah, anyway, so Cruise.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
But Dave did say the movie was good.

And he doesn't he's not a Tom Cruise personal fan.
So we can talk about more of that on Buse
said radio.

And yeah, and he was. He was.

He hadn't called in because he couldn't keep track of
when you were going to be here, when I was
gonna be here, and it was confusing.

Oh cool, I think you have I think you yeah,

I think he messaged me on Instagram. He said, Hey, Curtis,
I've been listening to all your pods for years, seventies
bus since it was a year in but went back
and listened to everything and have been current ever since.
And then he talks about Buzzhead Radio and Zoinky, So
I'll talk more about that, but anyway, I wanted to
give you a shout out on this podcast as well, Travis.

He says they had a tornado.

Wow, scary. Luckily no one got hurt. I'm practicing my
gilding and next letters I'll send, we'll probably have real
twenty four cart gold.

And that made me think about an episode idea Fonts
and arts during the seventies. The art made during the
seventies was very groovy, especially pop art.

Curtis knows all about that.

Erotic art became popular again too during that decade, not
only photographs and movies, but drawings and paintings.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
Pin up posters were totally groovy.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
And we have done an episode on posters.

The art would be a hard episode to do because
it's so.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
And so anyway, and then he asked if we had
done an episode on black Light and seventies and tier Design,
which I think we did so, so that's from Jeffrey.
And then we got a long I got a long
email from Leo.

And it has to do with the boots several of
our I'm not sure. Let's see.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I did have a flashback that I haven't thought about
in more than fifty years. While listening to a recent
seventies buzz I remembered the old glass thermoses that used
to come with your lunch boxes before the plastic ones,
and how many I went through dropping them in elementary school.
That instant you realized it was shattered is still so vivid,

(10:46):
then opening it and seeing the silver glass floating. Man,
can you imagine something like that today? Later, buddy, give
my best to Todd, Leo, le Leola shock So and
then I'll say more of what Leo had to say
on Buzzhead Radio. And I think that I think that
was That's got me caught up on the emails.

Would you guys be interested? It is the big Van
Buren Cruise this weekend in Enid, and I mean it's big.
It's like bumper to bumper for miles and we could

go live at some point on Friday or Saturday night.
Would you guys want to go down Memory Lane on
a cruise and we might only stay live for I
don't know, fifteen or thirty minutes, just to show you
guys some of the cars and get that feel of
remembering what it was like dragging the big strip.

Yeah, of course when when we were in high school,
it wasn't that big at all.

Oh, it was never that crowd.

Yeah.

Yeah, this is like an annual event and it's and
it's I mean in Enid on this weekend. It's so
big that I'd have to say thousands of people come
sit out on this. They sit on the side of
the strip in their lawn chairs and just watch the cars,

you know, go up and down, so it's it's a
big event.

Could hop in the old Monte Carlo and go go

Dave says he just got back from running errands and
we talked about you and Tom Cruise and the Tom
Cruise movie. But we're going to talk more about that

No, it came out, but they changed the name of it.
When the Starbright hasn't come out yet, But that wasn't
the one with Bo Derek. The one that I filmed
in gu Through with Bo Derek. It was I can't
even remember what it was called. And then when it
came out it was like something to do with Christmas,
completely different name, and I was like.

Was there a Santa Claus or a Christmas tree anywhere
in your in your peripheral vision?

No, because I was in just one country club scene.

He went to high school where we filmed back in
eighty nine. That's when the movie takes place, so back
in the eighties.

He was on the set.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
He was actually the first person I met when I
got there at six am last Friday.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Well, very cool. Yeah, So what's the movie about?

Speaker 5 (18:32):
I think it's She told me it was a sports movie.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
At one point, Philip Carrie says, how many of you
had one of those musical horns in your car in
the seventies? Did you have You didn't have a musical one,
but did you have a weird horn?

Speaker 3 (18:48):
No? No, somebody had like a loud horn.

Speaker 5 (18:51):
I can't remember who it was.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
I put in an ouga horn on my dad's truck.
Oh yeah, no, I didn't remember they had those. They
were like program do you could? Yeah, like five different

Philip? Did you have a musical horn? I wasn't putting
that on my car.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Todd wouldn't put a musical horn in his car, but
he did you tape the McDonald's trash can lead to
your hood?

Or did we? Just you almost had to have it
would have fallen off.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I did. It looked like a scoop, but it was
a McDonald's trash can.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
So I had a seventy two Caprice, which is basically
an Impala two door, two door, and it was the
one with the curved windshield or back window was curved.
And one day we went we were in McDonald's, cruising, cruising,
we pulled into McDonald's and that's back when McDonald's had

these trash cans outside, and it had that that scoopy
thing where you like, and it had a flappy deal.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Flappy deal, and I was like, you know what that
looks like a hood scoop?

Speaker 1 (20:00):
And I guess I had some and it actually I
think it was kind of brown like your car.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
But it was dark, yeah, it was, it was.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
And so I somehow I think I just had electrical
tape and tape that thing to my car. It went
up and down Van Buren, and I got so many
people like wanting to race me.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
I say so many. There's at least at least one.
At least one guy's like a hoot scoop on your car.
So you must have like some kind of intakeers. I
mean it did.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
It looked like it was some type of heart.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
It was huge.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
It was Yeah, it was ridiculous looking.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
Bill's checking it.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Bill, your I have not mailed your mailing shirts tomorrow,
so your shirt will be in the mail. Nobody's really responded.
We got a thumb up, but we may go live
this weekend, uh at the ENID Cruise.

He played the football team and they got in the
wrong crowd and ended up spending years in prison.

Yeah, yeah, So anyway, Yeah McDonald's trashcan lids can.

I don't know how that damn things did on there.

You must have been driving slow or something.

So I was going through the uh oh from what
the Fall previews that Jason had sent us, and I
thank you Jason.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
But before I got into we'd kind of looked through them,
but I didn't really like examine them, and I thought,
I wonder if there's a nineteen seventy seven in there,
And sure enough, here it is. Yeah, Fall preview from
nineteen seventy seven. So I was going to kind of
go through there and read a few.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
That was a great year. Yeah. So I tell you what, this.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
Book is going to be so fun.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
It's it's not only a story of boys growing up
in Enid in the seventies, but there's going to be
tons of references to nineteen seventy seven throughout the book
that you're gonna have to It's like you're gonna read
it and then you're going to be like, oh, Google Google.

Should we google these things now?

Speaker 2 (22:14):
I mean, like when something comes up, like, I'm gonna
google that to remember it better.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Oh.

I think I think there's just gonna be some subtle
things that by the end of the book you're going
to be like, oh, now I get what those are
and what those are, so any I mean, I'm sprinkling
it with all kinds of cool stuff.

When's it going to audiobook? Because I can't.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
No, you're going to have to read it. Come on, hey,
john Zy, so real quick. So Saturday morning, and this
was the Fall, the Fall preview, so a lot of
these were debuting.

But Man cartoons started at the Good Ones at six
thirty what and then seven seven am was the premiere
of CB Bears it was their debut, and super Friends
was on at seven am.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Okay, so that this was at the tail end of
a cartooning.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Yeah, and then I remember Bugs Money being on at
seven because it was always on early, and Johnny Quest
was on at seven point thirty.

Laugh.

Olympics debuted at eight o'clock.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
Mister Magoo was debuted at eight o'clock.

A show a cartoon called Skatebirds on CBS.

It debuted costumed actors play the three colorful birds who
serve as hosts for the animated series The Robanic Stooges
Wonder Wheels.

Anybody remember the Skatebirds.

Speaker 5 (23:38):
And Woofer and Whimper?

Do not remember those guys? Yeah? I don't really remember
those either.

I did a TikTok video yesterday talking about cereals.

A lot of people their favorite cereal was King Vitamin.
