Speaker 1 (00:10):
Good morning everybody. This is Shawn Copeland. Today is Sunday,
July the sixth, and welcome to another brand new, life
changing edition of the ninety four X Kingdom Priveon CEO.
Thank you so much for joining us today. I hope

(00:31):
everybody had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. We had
an absolute blast. We had the Lord I bet half
of eastern Oklahoma over at the house. We had a
big slide in the backyard. We cook tons and tons
of food, had snow cones, all kinds of fun stuff,

(00:52):
went to watch fireworks that evening, got to celebrate my
beautiful mother, Sally's birthday, which is on July the third.
So it was just a wonderful just a wonderful, wonderful day.
I am probably like many of you this morning. My

(01:14):
heart is still heavy because I keep thinking about the
Mystic River camp deaths that have occurred, or at least
the campers that are missing, and the community deaths that
have occurred from the floodings in central Texas. I want
to just pray for them as we begin this morning,

(01:35):
and then we're going to move into a study that
I think is pretty closely related to how do you
get through times like this. So please bow with me
this morning as we start. Dear Heavenly Father, it's just
so unfathomable to be one of the family members of
these little girls from the Mystic Camp, or any of

(01:57):
the other individuals who have lost their life because of
the flash flooding along the Guadalupe River there in central Texas.
And so, Father, we don't understand these things. We never
will until we are joined with you. Maybe that nature
just takes its course and you set up these laws

(02:18):
and that's the way that things happen. But it just
breaks our heart to lose, particularly seven and eight year
old girls. And so Father, this morning, as a as
a group, as a country, as listeners of this podcast,
we pray for those families, for the lives of those
little girls, that many can be miraculously saved, just like

(02:40):
the little girl hanging on to a mattress. All night. Father,
help us to see miracle after miracle after miracle over
these next few days, and Father, comfort those families, give
them a peace that surpasses all understanding if they have
lost loved ones. We love you, we trust you, and

(03:01):
we thank you in Jesus' name. A man all right,
So today we're going to talk about something very similar,
and it's the topic of never giving up. How can we,
obviously all of us go through very difficult times in
our lives, and how do we constantly fight the good

(03:23):
fight of faith even when things around us can look
very difficult? And I would just ask you this morning,
have you ever felt like giving up? Like you're doing
everything right but nothing seems to be going your way.
Maybe you're praying, waiting, believing, and wondering and you're thinking, God,

(03:44):
did you just forget about me? If so, you weren't
in really good company, because some of the greatest heroes
of faith had long seasons of waiting, battles that they
didn't ask for, and frustrations that tested their very soul.
But here's what I came to tell you today, don't
give up. Fight the good fight of faith. Like I

(04:08):
tell my kids growing up, I didn't raise quitters. I
raise fighters. And I'm not talking about with fists. I'm
talking about with faith. So I just want to leave
you with a few points today as we think about
how can we continue to fight the fight and not
give up even when things around us can look very,

(04:31):
very difficult. One Timothy six twelve says, fight the good
fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life
to which you were called. Now, let's be clear. Faith
isn't a walk in the park. Okay, it's not a
spiritual picnic. It's a battle, but not against people, not
against circumstances. It's a fight to keep believing when everything

(04:54):
in you wants to doubt. And it's important to remember
that our battles are spiritual in nature. Okay, it may
feel like it's you against another person, it is not.
It is the scripture tells us we are fighting against principalities,
and it's a spiritual battle that we are fighting. You know,

(05:19):
David fought long before Goliath, and so do we. So
think about David's story. It should have been short. He
was a shepherd tending sheep, forgotten by his family. But
before he ever faced Goliath, David fought many battles. He
fought a mental battle alone in the fields, just with

(05:39):
him and his thoughts. He fought a lion and a bear,
no crowds, no applause, just survival. He fought frustration with Saul,
with his boss who threw spears instead of support. He
fought a seventeen year wait from the time he was
anointed until he made it to the throne seventeen years.

(06:02):
Some of us can't wait seventeen minutes without complaining. David
probably wondered, is God's promise even real? But here's what
made David so great. He didn't quit. He kept showing up,
He kept worshiping, he kept leading even when he was
in the cave. We can never mix faith and time.

(06:26):
God's promises do not have a deadline. Time is not
your enemy. Doubt is. Faith says God said it, I
believe it, and I'll wait as long as it takes.
But our world says I want it now. To day
shipping or I'm out. You can't amazon prime a promise

(06:47):
from God. Think about Caleb. This is a man who
waited forty five years with a smile. If you look
in Joshua chapter fourteen, Caleb was one of twelve spy
who scouted the promised land. Ten said we can't do it,
giants everywhere. Caleb said, let's go. God's got this because

(07:09):
of others. Unbelieve he waited forty five years in the wilderness,
not because of him, but because of the people around him.
He didn't do anything wrong, but they were doubters. Who
were your people? Show me your friends, and I'll show
you your future. Two million Israelites died, but Caleb never

(07:31):
stopped believing. At eighty five years old, he said, I'm
just as strong today as I was forty five years ago.
Give me that mountain. What made him strong? Protein, shaiks
a peloton. No, it was faith and a faithful God.
God is calling us to wholehearted living, being all in

(07:56):
for him. Caleb said, I followed the Lord whole heartedly,
not halfway, not on Sundays only, not just when things
were going well. You can't love the world on Monday
and love God on Sunday. You've got to pick a
side giants or God's word, fear or faith. We have

(08:17):
to guard our heart and we have to guard our mind.
Proverbs four twenty through twenty three says, my son, pay
attention to what I say. Guard your heart, for everything
you do flows from it. Your heart is like a garden.
If you plant faith, you get fruit. If you let
doubt take root, you get weeds. Doubt knocks every day.

(08:40):
Don't answer the door, defriend the complainers. If someone is
always negative, always doubting, always draining, you limit their access
to your spirit. David didn't belong in the field, Caleb
didn't belong in the wilderness, but they stayed faithful anyway.
Remember that prayer will turn the tide of the battle.

(09:05):
Remember Moses. When Moses lifted his hands during Battle Israel one,
when his hands dropped, the enemy gained ground. Don't fight
with your fists, fight with your hands held up. When
you pray, Heaven moves, the tide shifts. Angels respond, and
even if it takes time, God never forgets a promise.

(09:29):
So as we close, I want to encourage you. Don't
give up. Keep going. It will be worth it someday,
even if it's when we get to heaven that may
be our first glimpse of glory. But man, is it
going to be worth it. David waited seventeen years, Caleb
waited forty five years, Joseph waited in prison. Abraham waited

(09:52):
twenty five years for a son. But they all received
the promise, not because they were perfect, but because they
did not quit. Galatian six' nine, says let us not
grow weary and doing good for the proper, time we
will reap the harvest if we do not give. Up

(10:13):
so what mountain are you waiting? On what promise feels?
Delayed what have you let talk you out of your?
Faith or who have you let talk you out of your?
Faith hold, on stand, firm never give. Up god's not done.
Yet if you're not, Dead god's not done with. You
Like caleb on top of that, Mountain may you one

(10:37):
day Say i'm just as strong now AS i was,
then AND i believe The lord will fight my. Battles
please bow with me this, morning dear having Me, father
we thank you for being a promise Keeping, God help
us to fight the good fight of. Faith strengthen the

(10:57):
hearts out there that are tired, Today renew the spirits
of those who've been, Waiting firm up those today who
may be. Doubting teach us to wait, Well help us
to keep our eyes on the promise and not the,
problem and help us to never ever give. Up we

(11:18):
love you so much In jesus' NAME a, man AND
i want to thank you all so much for joining
