Speaker 1 (00:10):
Good morning everyone. This is Sean Copeland.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Today is Monday, July the twenty first, and welcome to
another brand new, life changing edition of the ninety four
x Kingdom Driven CEO.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Thank you, Thank you.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Now you may be wondering, Hey, Sean, I am used
to logging in on Sunday. How come you didn't do
your podcast on Sundays like you normally do, And I
want to sincerely apologize to you all. We were in Memphis,
Tennessee for a national baseball tournament for my son. It
started early, we had to pack up and get out
(00:51):
of the airbnb we were staying in. We were all
day at the baseball fields. Thankfully they won, which was
super super exca and we did not get in until
about two or three o'clock this morning, and so needless
to say here, I am back in my office and
happy to share with you this message, but I apologize
(01:14):
for being a day late.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
I am excited to share this with you though, just
because it is.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
So relevant to what we are going through right now
in our country and in our own lives. And I
want to share with you a message called keep walking
along your Path, and I want to read this to
you and then I'll just share a little bit before
we close. Keep walking with me along the path I
(01:43):
have chosen for you. Your desire to live close to
me is a delight to my heart. I could instantly
grant you the spiritual riches you desire, but that is
not my way for you.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Together we will forge.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
A pathway up the high mountain. The journey is arduous
at times, and you are weak. Someday you will dance
light footed on the high peaks, but for now your
walk is often plotting and heavy. All I require of
you is to take the next step, clinging to my
hand for strength and direction.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Though the path is difficult.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
And the scenery dull, at the moment, there are sparkling
surprises just around the bend.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Stay on the path I have selected for you.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
It is truly the path of life and our scripture
basis as Isaiah forty thirty one. But those who wait
on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount
up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not
be weary. They shall walk and not grow faint Psalm
thirty seven, twenty three and twenty four. If the Lord
delights in a man's way, he makes the steps firm
(02:47):
though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord
upholds him with his hand and Psalm sixteen eleven. You
will show me the path of life, and your presence
is fullness of joy at your right and our pleasures forever.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
More so, let's talk a little bit about walking.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Keep walking on our path, don't give up, don't divert
stay on the path that God has created for you.
And I remember one time Angela and I once went
hiking and we got about ten minutes in before I asked,
are we almost there yet? I'll never forget it. I
was winded, I was sweating, I was seeing spots. It
(03:28):
was in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was really hot, and she said, Sean,
we haven't even gotten to the trail yet.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
And at that moment I understood two things.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Number One, I was not in hiking shape, and number two,
walking uphill takes commitment. And sometimes our walk with God
feels just like that. You're trying, you're tired, and you're wondering,
are we there yet?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Lord?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
This episode gives us God's gentle encouragement keep walking with me,
don't stay I've got you. So let's keep in mind
a few things today that I just want to remind
you Number one, the walk is chosen by God. The
scripture said, keep walking with me along the path I
(04:15):
have chosen for you. God doesn't ask us to blaze
our own trail. He has already mapped it out. He
doesn't need our perfect performance. He desires our proximity. If
God chose the path, he's committed to walk it with you.
Even if you trip, he's still holding your hand. And
(04:35):
I want you to think about a time when we
taught our children or maybe our grandchildren to walk. Okay,
they're wobbly, but they never we never let go of them. Okay,
God's the same way. We may get a little wobbly
at times, but He is always there for us, and
(04:56):
he always will carry us through the path that He
has created for us. So we want to stop comparing
our path to others. Our trail was custom made by
God for our growth and for his glory. Now, the
walk is sometimes very hard, but it is always worth it.
(05:21):
The journey is arduous at times, and you are weak.
Your walk is often plotting and heavy. That is from scripture.
And let's be real, some days feel like we're walking
through spiritual molasses. Our prayers feel dry, our worship feels weak,
and we are spiritually tired. But God says, but those
(05:41):
who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They
shall walk and not faint. That's not a promise of
an easy walk. It's a promise of a supernatural endurance.
Imagine walking up here with a backpack full of bricks
labeled words comparison, guilt, and fear. God says, hand me
(06:03):
the backpack, and let's keep walking. So don't despise the
plotting days. They're building your endurance. Just take the next
right step, and he says, all I require of you
is to take the next step, clinging to my hand,
one step at a time. I remember going through some
(06:25):
of our toughest times here at the bank. I remember
when I was CEO here and Secretary of Commerce and
we were going through COVID, and it just felt like
there were days when it was just too much and
too heavy, and I just had to turn it over
to him and just keep walking forward, one step at
(06:45):
a time. The path always has surprises around the corner.
Scripture says, though the scenery is dull at the moment,
there are sparkling surprises just around the bend. God is
not boring. Timing just may not follow our calendar. Sometimes
we stop walking just before the breakthrough. Psalm sixteen eleven says,
(07:08):
you will show me the path of life in your
presence is fullness of joy. If we walk long enough
with Jesus, we will experience real joy. Someone thought their
season was over, business, close, relationship ended, health struggled, but
then God opened a new door, introduced a new friend,
(07:29):
provided in a surprising way. So we want to stay
on God's path. The enemy wants us to deter into comparison, bitterness,
or shortcut, but God's boring trail can lead to breathtaking views.
We just have to stay on it. The victory is
(07:51):
always in the walking, not the arrival.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Someday we will dance.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Light footed on the high peaks, but for now we
just have to keep walking.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Micah six eight says, what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly?
Speaker 2 (08:07):
To love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
God's dream isn't just to get you to the mountaintop.
It's to walk with you on Monday morning, through dishes
and deadlines, through pain and praise. You don't always feel
spiritual when your coffee spills, or your kids argue about
the car radio. But guess what, even then, you're still
(08:29):
walking with him. The journey matters to God. You don't
need a mountaintop miracle. You need Monday morning momentum. So
maybe today you feel tired, Maybe the trail seems flat
and dusty. Maybe you're tempted to stop walking, to settle,
(08:49):
or to sit it out. But God says, all I
require of you is to take the next step, clinging
to my hand. And if you keep walking, he will
strengthen you. He will surprise you, and he will show
you the path of life. Psalm thirty seven, twenty three
and twenty four Again says though he stumble, he will
(09:12):
not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.
So let's close today, and I just want to encourage
you wherever you are today, stay on that path. Please
bow with me. Lord, Thank you for walking with us.
When we are weak, you are strong. When we get tired.
(09:34):
You carry us. Help us not to rush the process
or resent the trail. Help us to simply take the
next step, persevere and hold tightly to your hand.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
We trust you with our path. In Jesus's name.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
A man and I'm going to thank you all so
much for joining this edition, this Monday morning edition of
the ninety four X King Him Driven CEO, and make
God bless you.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
