Speaker 1 (00:10):
Good morning everybody. This is Sean Copeland. Today is Saturday,
December sixth, and welcome to another brand new, life changing
edition of the ninety four x Kingdom Driven CEO. Thank
you to the fake crowd out there, We appreciate it. Hey,

(00:30):
it's so good to be with you guys today. Welcome
to the month of December. I cannot believe it. We
are now squarely in the middle of the Christmas season.
Twenty twenty five is coming to an end, and I
just love, love, love this time of the year, so
I'm so happy to be with you. We had a
pretty normal week this week, nothing too crazy. Get to

(00:54):
go to Nowada in Springfield and deliver what we call
Santa Bucks to them for their Chrissmas bonus. That was
really really fun. Was supposed to go to Florida on
Tuesday and Wednesday and had several meetings that I really
couldn't miss here, so a couple of my cohorts, Alec
and Jason, visited Southeastern University for me there, and then

(01:19):
we had a really big call with the FDIC yesterday
that went great. So it was just really a very
good week for me, A good week of catchup and
spending time with co workers, and so I'm very happy
to be with you today. I'm bringing you the podcast

(01:41):
episode on Saturday today because here in a little while,
Angela and I are going to head down to Dallas
for a client Christmas party, and so I suspect it
will be a little late tonight, and she and I
are going to do some Christmas shopping tomorrow down there,
and so I thought it would be easier just to
go ahead and record today while I'm still here at home.

(02:03):
And I'm very excited to bring you this topic. And
let me give you this is pretty interesting. There's a
particular lyric in a worship song called Center that has
just really grabbed my heart every time I hear it,
every time I sing the song in church, it just

(02:26):
and it just brings me to tears. And it says,
if my days tell a story, let it be of
you only. If my days tell a story, let it
be of You only, meaning that whenever I get to
the end of my life and my life is over,

(02:47):
I don't want my legacy to be about me. I
want my legacy to be about Jesus. And I think
every believer hears that and says, yes, Lord, but where
do I ar. It sounds beautiful, it sounds poetic, it
sounds holy. But then Monday morning rolls around and somebody
cuts us off in traffic, and right there goes our

(03:09):
story from glorifying Jesus to Lord, deliver me before I
say something that I'm going to regret. We want our
lives to glorify Him, but real life can get really loud.
So today we're going to talk about how to live
a Jesus centered life in the middle of a real life.
Your family, your workplace, your schedule. And you're imperfect and

(03:32):
my imperfect humanity. Because the truth is, your story will
be told no matter what. Okay, the question is who
does it tell the story about? So what does it
mean to glorify Jesus? So let's make it simple. To

(03:52):
glorify Jesus means to reflect his character like a mirror
reflecting light. The mirror doesn't create the light, it just
points it in the right direction. And Matthew five point sixteen,
Jesus said, let your light shine before others, that they
may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven.

(04:13):
He didn't say let them hear your arguments, your perfection,
your religious performance, He said, let them see your goodness, meaning,
your kindness tells his story. Your forgiveness tells his story.
Your humanity tells his story. Your joy tells his story,
Your love tells his story. Most people think Daniel glorified

(04:36):
God by surviving lions, but actually Daniel glorified God way
before the lions ever showed up. How Number one, he
lived with integrity. Daniel six 'y four says his enemies
could find no corruption in him. Number two, he was faithful.
Daniel prayed three times a day before chrisis hit. Number three,

(04:59):
he was corre He chose obedience over convenience. And here's
what we learn. A life that glorifies God is built
long before the spotlight arrives. The lions den didn't make
Daniel faithful. It simply revealed the faithfulness that was already
inside of him. Did you ever meet someone you've worked

(05:20):
with for years and then one day they casually say, oh,
by the way, I'm a Christian, and you think, really,
that is shocking information. We should not be surprised Christians, Okay,
people should be able to tell without us ever announcing it,
that we love differently. We forgive differently, we react differently,

(05:43):
we work differently, not weird, not holier than now, just consistently, quietly,
joyfully christ like. This is the heart of my point.
Let's make it practical. Let's talk about how to live
a life that tells his story. Number one. That's a

(06:05):
live with a surrendered heart. Psalm thirty seven, verse five says,
commit your way to the Lord, trust in him. A
life that glorifies God starts with a heart that says
yes before God even asks is not perfection. It is
posture number two. Let's live with a gratitude mindset. First.
Thessalonians five eighteen says give thanks in all circumstances. Gratitude

(06:29):
glorifies Jesus because it refuses to let circumstances control attitude.
Ungrateful Christians are like spiritual eye sores. Thanks Lord for
another day, I guess. But Christians, overflowing with gratitude, they shine.
We should live with unusual joy and unusual love. John

(06:53):
thirteen thirty five says by this everyone will know you
are my disciples if you love one another, not by
theology degrees or perfect behavior or church attendance or arguing online.
Like spiritual mma fighters Jesus said the mark of a
believer is love. Here's the catch. Love is easy when

(07:14):
people are easy. Love is holy when people are difficult.
Anyone can love a Labrador Retriever or my little buddy Bear,
the golden doodle that is sitting here right by me.
Try loving someone who choos loudly, or argues constantly, or
drives forty seven miles an hour in the fast lane.
Now that glorifies Jesus. Number four we should live with forgiveness.

(07:38):
Colossians three p. Thirteen says, forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Nothing makes you look more like Jesus than forgiveness. Unforgiveness
is like drinking poison and hoping the other person gets sick.
Forgiveness is like opening the prison door and discovering that
the prisoner was you. Number five. We should with joy

(08:00):
and humor. Galatians five twenty two says the fruit of
the spirit is joy. Joy glorifies God because the Lord
expects Christians to be miserable, like we walk around saying
I'm saved, but I'm mad about it. No joy is
a testimony, laughter is a witness, peace is a sign.
A Christian filled with joy is a billboard for Jesus

(08:24):
number six. We should live with excellence in everything we do.
Colossians three twenty three says, whatever you do, do it
with all your heart, as I'm too the Lord. So
if you're a teacher, teach like Jesus's in the front row,
a banker, serve like Jesus as your customer, a coach
coach like Jesus is on your roster. A parent love

(08:44):
like Jesus is watching because he is. Excellence glorifies Jesus.
In Mark fourteen three through nine, there was a woman
who brings her most expensive possession, an alabaster jar, and
breaks it at Jesus' feet. Everyone else says, what a waste.
Jesus says, no, this glorifies me. Why because glorifying Jesus

(09:08):
means giving him your best. Even if people don't understand.
When your life makes sense to Jesus, it doesn't have
to make sense to everyone else. You've probably noticed that
Jesus doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Moses stutter,
David messed up, Peter denied, Jonah ran Thomas doubted, Lazarus

(09:30):
was literally dead, and God said, these are my people.
Let's tell my story through them. If God can use
that crew, he can use you. Your story is being
written through your reactions, your priorities, your calendar, your compassion,
your patience, your generosity, your faithfulness. And the question the

(09:53):
Holy Spirit asks is does this sound like Jesus? Not perfect,
just progressing, just growing, just becoming more like him day
by day. If your days tell a story and they will,
let them be chapters full of Jesus. What if every

(10:14):
morning you prayed a simple ten second prayer, Lord, let
my life tell your story today. Let my words look
like you, Let my reactions sound like you. Let my
love reflect you. Let my days glorify you. Only that
prayer can change you, That prayer can focus you. That

(10:36):
prayer writes a story that Heaven applauds. So I'm nineteen
fourteen says, let the words of my mouth and the
meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight. O Lord,
this is the cry of a life that glorifies Jesus.
Please buy with me today, do Heaven, Father, particularly during

(10:59):
this season when we celebrate the birth of your son,
Jesus Christ, and when we are kind of finishing one
year and turning the page over to another year. Help
us to think about our story and Father, if our
days do tell a story, and they do, let that
story be of you. Teach us to glorify you with

(11:23):
our hearts, our words, our attitudes, our actions. Fill us
with love, joy, forgiveness and excellence. Let the world see
you in us, not because we're perfect, but because we
belong to you. Write your story through our lives. Father
in Jesus' name. A men, and I want to thank

(11:44):
