Speaker 1 (00:10):
Good evening everyone. This is Sean Copeland. Today is Sunday,
August third, and welcome to another brand new, life changing
edition of the ninety four X Kingdom briven CEO. Thank
you all so much for joining us today, and I
(00:30):
apologize for getting this out a little bit later than normal.
We just had our last baseball trip up to Kansas City.
My son was in a kind of a showcase up there.
It was super, super exciting, but we played early this
morning and then drove back and so we just got home.
I while I was up there, I was kind of
(00:52):
praying and thinking about what to share on today's podcast,
and I saw multiple examples of what I would call
kind of a lack of consistency, where you basically have
parents or coaches or maybe even players saying one thing
but completely doing another. And I got to thinking about
(01:15):
our world, and I think part of what is so
frustrating to all of us is that we have kind
of a consistency crisis within our world. I think about
a teaching from John Maxwell from years and years ago,
and he talked about the power of congruency. Where you
(01:37):
were what you say and what you do are the same,
where your internal beliefs match your external actions, and we
want to talk about that a little bit. But this
is it's hard. I mean, this is very, very difficult.
And I would ask you if you've ever tried to
go on a diet on Monday and you were off
of it by lunch, or you started a workout routine
(01:58):
that lasted about as long as your last house plan,
or maybe you've made a new Year's resolution to read
your Bible every day only to realize you're still in
Leviticus and it is now August. Consistency is hard, but
consistency is also powerful, and in our walk with God
and in every area of life, it can be the
(02:19):
difference between burnout and breakthrough, and failure and fruitfulness. You know,
when John Maxwell emphasized the concept and consistency and leadership,
he was referring to the alignment between the leader's inner self,
their values, beliefs, and their emotions, and their external actions
(02:40):
and their communication. And here are a few of the
points that he made in his teaching that I just
went back and reviewed earlier this morning. Number One, trust
and credibility is so important. Congruent leaders walk the talk,
meaning that their actions match their words and their values,
(03:01):
and this consistency builds trust with their team members and
their followers. People are more likely to follow leaders who
demonstrate integrity and honesty in all areas of their life.
Number two, it gives them authentic influence. Consistent leaders have
a deeper and more authentic influence because their behavior is
(03:22):
rooted in their true selves. This is according to a
Newsweek study. This authenticity inspires and empowers others, creating a
more positive and productive work environment. Number three, they experience
improved relationships. When leaders are consistent, they foster stronger and
more meaningful relationships with those around them, according to Aaron's McSwain.
(03:45):
And this is because people can sense genuineness and are
more likely to open up and connect with leaders who
are perceived as authentic. They also, Number four experience enhance
leadership effectiveness. Consistency provides a stable foundation for leadership, allowing
(04:06):
leaders to navigate challenges and make decisions that are consistent
with their values. Leaders with strong consistency can inspire others
to achieve collective success and build a positive organizational culture.
So what do we mean? Consistent leaders are self aware
and they're committed to continuous improvement. Continuous self improvement. They're
(04:30):
dedicated to serving others and empowering their teams. They have
a clear vision and inspire through action, and they make
card decisions that serve the greater good. In essence, John
Maxwell's emphasis on the power of consistency underscores the importance
of authentic, value driven leadership is a key to building
(04:51):
strong relationships, fostering trust, and achieving lasting success. Okay, but
what does the Bible say about this? A lot? In fact.
Number one, God is consistent and we are made in
his image. Hebrews thirteen, verse eight says Jesus Christ is
the same yesterday and today and forever. And Malachi three
(05:16):
six says, I the Lord do not change. We serve
a God who doesn't wake up on the wrong side
of the bed. He doesn't ghost us, he doesn't flake.
He's steady, he's reliable, he's consistent. And guess what, you
were created in His image, So consistency is already in you.
You've just got to cultivate it. The faithful are fruitful.
(05:41):
Now let's talk about one of the most overlooked heroes
in scripture, and that is Daniel. In Daniel six, we
read that Daniel prayed three times a day, every day,
even when it was illegal, even when it meant he'd
get thrown into a den full of lions. And that's
not flash, that's not charisma, that is consistency. Daniel six'
(06:01):
ten says he went home to his upstairs room where
the windows open Toward Jerusalem's. Jerusalem three times a. Day
he got down on his knees and, prayed giving thanks
to His, god just as he had done. Before he
didn't start praying because it was a. Crisis he didn't
pray only when the music hit just. Right he had a,
(06:22):
habit and that habit gave him strength in the. Storm
there's a saying that says you don't rise to the,
occasion you fall to the level of your. Preparation it's
like trying to run a marathon after training With netflix and.
Nachos you're not going to make it past mile. One
daniel was marathon. Ready his consistency was his. Preparation consistency builds,
(06:47):
character even when nobody's. Watching galatian sixt', nine says let
us not grow weary and, doing good for at the,
proper time we will reap a harvest if we do
not give up consistency is boring before it. Is blessed
you don't see the results. Right away that's why most
people give up. Too soon Joseph in genesis thirty seven
(07:08):
through fifty is another. Great example he was consistent in
his integrity even when he, was betrayed, falsely accused and.
In prison he served Faithfully in, potiphar's house then, in
prison Then in. Faroh's palace What if joseph, had said you,
