Speaker 1 (00:10):
Good morning everyone, and it is Easter Sunday. This is
Sean Copeland. Today is April the twentieth, and welcome to
another brand new, life changing edition of the ninety four
x Kingdom Driven CEO. Thank you, thank you, and certainly

(00:31):
that applause is for Jesus Christ, who changed our life
on this day over two thousand years ago. And so
today we are going to talk about the power of
the resurrection from death to life. And I know we
think a lot about the resurrection, but I think I'm
going to present it to you in a way that

(00:51):
maybe you have not heard it before, and how it
directly impacts your life. Today we're going to talk about
the resurrection because it changed everything, not just for history,
but for you and for me. And we're not going
to talk about resurrection power as an ancient concept or

(01:12):
an Easter Sunday buzzword, but as a daily, personal life
altering force available to every believer. Romans eight eleven says,
and if the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from
the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ
from the dead will also give life to your mortal
bodies because of His spirit who lives in you. Now

(01:36):
let that sink in for just a second. The same
power that raised Jesus from the dead is literally living
in you and me. Is not near us. It's not
around us, it's not occasionally visiting us. It is in us.
So before we jump into exactly how this changes us,

(01:57):
let's do a brief review of Easter Week for those
that may not be believers that listen here, or maybe
haven't really studied Easter Week. It all started with Palm Sunday,
when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and people
wave palm branches and shout at Hosanna. So he was
celebrated big time on Palm Sunday. On Monday, he got angry.

(02:23):
He cleanses the temple, drives out the merchants, let the
animals free, turn the tables over. That's where the money
changers were involved. A lot of people have told me
that was the bankers back then. Since I am in banking,
I'm so sorry for what we did back in that time.

(02:44):
In the temple. On Tuesday, Jesus was questioned by the
Jewish leaders. On Wednesday, Judas agreed to betray Jesus for money.
On Monday, Thursday, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with his disciples.
Then he was arrested in the Garden of Gsemine. Very
traumatic experience, but Last Supper was obviously very very important

(03:06):
to our faith and the example of how we should live.
On Good Friday, Jesus was tried, he was crucified, a
brutal death, and he was buried on Saturday. His body
lied in the tomb. And on Easter Sunday today, all
those years ago, Jesus rose from the dead and he

(03:30):
is no longer in the tomb. And I just want
to add here that over five hundred people, many people
saw him placed in the tomb. Okay, so every you know,
many many people saw him die brutally crucified obviously, you
know when he died, the veil was torn, all kinds

(03:53):
of things happened, the sky turned dark. I mean, it
was a very very obvious situation when he died. But
over five hundred people saw him after he came back,
after he was resurrected. So this is not a Storytelle.
It is not something that was just made up to

(04:14):
make us feel better. This is the truth, proven in
multiple non religious texts back at the time. So we
want to talk about a few things here today. Number
one the fact that the resurrection was more than an event.
It was a person. Okay, so when Martha think about this.

(04:36):
When Martha was grieving the death of her brother Lazarus,
Jesus didn't say one day there will be a resurrection.
He said in John eleven twenty five, I am the
resurrection and the life. The one who believes in ME
will live even though they die. Jesus is saying resurrection
is not a calendar event that happened one time on

(05:00):
Easter Sunday, many many years ago. The resurrection is me.
It's what I do, is who I am. And then
he proved it. He stood in front of the tomb
of a man who had been dead for four days. Now,
after four days, that's dead dead. Okay, that's not just

(05:20):
to sleep, that's not fainting. That's four days, stinking, decaying,
hopeless dead. And Jesus said, Lazarus come out, And Lazarus
walked out, grave clothes and all. Now some of us
are standing in front of our own tomb today. It
might be a dead marriage, a very dream, a lifeless

(05:43):
relationship with God, or maybe even just the death of Hope.
In our lives. And you're sitting there thinking there's no
life left in that. But Jesus doesn't flinch in front
of tombs. And I want to remind you that when
Jesus died on the cross, we interpret what he said

(06:05):
was it is finished. But in studying this, the actual
Hebrew word that he used was to tell us sty
which actually means more closely, the debt has been paid.
Our debt has been paid. If Jesus can call Lazarus out,

(06:25):
he can call us out to the resurrection. Also, the
resurrection power also gives us a new identity. Before the resurrection,
Peter was a man of impulsive faith and epic failures.
He literally told Jesus, even if all fall away, I
never will Jesus said, actually, Peter, before the rooster crows,

(06:48):
you'll deny me three times? And Peter did exactly that.
But then came the resurrection. And what does Jesus do
after rising from the grave. He doesn't hunt Peter down
scold him. He goes looking for him to restore him.
And John twenty one fifteen through seventeen, it says, Peter,
do you love me? Three times? Jesus asked three times

(07:11):
Peter affirmed why because Jesus wasn't just forgiving Peter, he
was resurrecting Peter's identity. He was saying, you are not failure,
you are not shame, You are not your denial. You
are still my rock. Second Corinthians five seventeen says, if

(07:31):
anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, the
old has gone, the new is here. Some of us
have let pass failures define us for too long. We
have all made mistakes. There's things that we've all done
in our lives that we regret. But resurrection power says
you are not what you've done. You are who God

(07:55):
says you are. You are forgiven, you are redeemed, you
are restored, and you are resurrected in Jesus Christ. The
resurrection also gives us victory over death, sin, and fear.
Death is the one thing we can escape ride. Everybody
always says to certain things in life, death and taxes.

(08:15):
But the resurrection tells us death is not the end
of the story. And one Corinthians fifteen fifty four through
fifty seven it says death has been swallowed up in victory.
Where death is your victory, where death is your staying
Thanks be to God, he gives us the victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ. Because Jesus walked out of the grave,

(08:37):
we don't walk into death, we walk through it. But
it's not just about physical death. It's also death to sin.
Romans sixty four says we were therefore buried with him
through baptism and to death in order that just as
Christ was raised from the dead, we too may live
a new life. We no longer have to be enslaved

(08:57):
to addictions, to regrets, and to shame. And the best part,
the resurrection kills fear. If Jesus can defeat death itself,
then what exactly should you and I be afraid of?
Not failure, not rejection, not bankruptcy, not the unknown. Because

(09:18):
the resurrected one walks with us. Are you living like
death is defeated? Are you walking in the power of
freedom from sin? Are you facing life with resurrection confidence? Remember?
The resurrection makes every day a new beginning. Sometimes we
think the resurrection is just for Easter, like it's a

(09:40):
once a year's celebration, and we should certainly celebrate today
because Jesus changed everything. But it's not a holiday, it's
a daily reality. Limitations three twenty two and twenty three says,
because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed.
Pass for his compassion never fail. They are new every morning.

(10:04):
Every morning is resurrection morning. If Jesus can conquer the grave,
he can conquer your Monday. He can breathe life into
your exhausted spirit, your overwhelmed schedule, and your stressed out parenting.
A man once said, my life fell apart. I lost everything,
But in the pit of despair, Jesus met me not

(10:25):
with condemnation but with comfort, not with judgment, but with joy.
He didn't patch up my old life. He gave me
a new one, and that is resurrection power. So today
we need to come alive again. Maybe today you're like
Mary Magdalen standing outside the tomb. You're weeping, You're confused,

(10:48):
you're lost. You thought the story was over. But then
Jesus said her name. In John twenty sixteen, Jesus said
to her Mary, and suddenly he turned to Joy. Jesus
is calling your name too. He's not asking you to
be perfect, he's not asking you to figure it all out.

(11:09):
He's just asking you to believe in the resurrection power
that can raise the dead things in your life to
life again. So today, do you need resurrection in your soul,
in a relationship, in your purpose, in your walk with God.
Let the power that raised Jesus from the dead raise

(11:32):
you as well. It is real. He is a living God.
He has come back from the dead. He is no
longer in that tomb. Please bow with me this morning. Lord.
We thank you that the tomb is empty, and that
because of that our hearts can be full. Bring resurrection

(11:54):
to the dry, lifeless, weary places in our lives. Help
us to live each day not in fear, but in victory.
We love you so much, and we thank you for
the gift of your son. Without your son, we would
have no hope. But because of your son we can
overcome everything because of his resurrection. In Jesus' name, A

(12:19):
man and I want to thank you all so much
for joining this special Eastern edition of the ninety four
X Kingdom Driven CEO.
