Speaker 1 (00:10):
Good morning everybody. Today is Sunday, May the twenty fifth.
This is Sean Copanhan. Welcome to another brand new, life
changing edition of the ninety four x Kingdom Driven CEO.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Now I know you may be thinking.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Sean, why does it sound like you are in the
middle of a waterfall at the current time. And it's
close to that, but not exactly. We are up at
our lake house north of Tulsa for the Memorial Day weekend,
and it rained like crazy here last night, and our
home is in the middle of a couple of streams

(00:55):
of water that is beautiful to hear. But I think
give you some pretty loud background noise for my podcast today.
But my problem is I kind of need to do
it outside because everybody else is sleeping. So let's give
it our best shot here. Hopefully you can hear me, okay,
because I probably have my favorite podcast I have ever

(01:18):
shared with you this morning. So first of all, I
want to take a moment to give a shout out
to everybody for Memorial Day. Obviously, this is a time
when we celebrate and remember those who we have lost,
you know, whether it is in the military or otherwise.

(01:40):
And so I just want to take a second to
remember those. I've lost some wonderful, wonderful loved ones ahead
of me, including both of my grandfathers my grandmother on
my dad's side, and we just missed them so much.
I had a twin brother when I was born, lost
him he was four months old, and so a lot

(02:03):
of wonderful people have gone on before us today. However,
let's switch gears just a little bit, and I want
to talk about this concept called the twenty mile March, okay,
And it's a fascinating one. It was actually taught to
me by my new business partner, a gentleman named Don

(02:24):
Winner with DLP Capital, and this is one of their
core values. And I want to tell you about it,
and then I want to talk about what it means from.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
A spiritual perspective. Okay, So the.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Twenty mile March comes from.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
The real life story of RLD.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Ammonson and Robert falcon Scott, who were two explorers who
race to reach the South Pole in nineteen eleven. Rold
was from Norway and Robert falcon Scott was from Britain,
and they both set out to be the first humans
to reach the North excuse me, the South Pole. They
left at the same time. They both faced the same

(03:05):
brutal conditions freezing temperatures, high winds, and dangerous terrain, but
their approaches could not have been more different, and the
results were tragically telling. Munson's plan was he practiced discipline, consistency.
He and his team committed to traveling twenty miles every day,
no matter the weather, good or bad. On good days,

(03:29):
they resisted the temptation to go farther. On bad days,
they pushed through to hit the mark. This steady rhythm
which sounds easy, but imagine some of the days that
they had to travel twenty miles in I mean, and
twenty miles is a lot. By the way, It's not
slacking by any stretch, but it's also not necessarily maximizing

(03:52):
your area on.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
A beautiful day either.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
But this rhythm built momentum and serve their energy, and
it kept them around high They also prepared meticulously. They
chose dog sleds for clothing and proven Arctic strategies. Now,
Scott's plan was more around inconsistency and extremes. He took

(04:18):
a much more reactive approach, and this is how a
lot of us live on good days. His team would
push themselves hard, sometimes over thirty miles. On bad days,
they often stayed in their tents and didn't move at all.
He used untested equipment like motor sledges and ponies, which
failed in the cold. His team wore wool, which was

(04:40):
inferior to Amerson's fur gear. The results where Aminson's team
reached the softpole first and returned safely, all of them.
Scott's team arrived thirty four days later, only to discover
the Norwegian flag already there. Tragically, Scott and his entire
team died on on the return trip, just eleven miles

(05:03):
from a supply depot. The twenty mile March isn't about speed.
It's about steady discipline, progress regardless of circumstances in business
life and leadership. Consistency over time outperforms bursts of energy
followed by burnout. As Jim Collins puts it, the twenty

(05:24):
mile March is more than a philosophy. It is a practice,
one that builds confidence, strength and resilience in uncertain times. Now,
what does that have to do with our faith? I
want to talk a little bit about the beauty of
steady faith, and I want to ask you have you
ever had a spiritual or personal gross spurt only to

(05:46):
crash shortly after? Maybe you were all in for a week,
waking up early, reading the Bible, hitting the gym, or
knocking out goals at work. Then life hits you and
you stopped. All of those times types of things we've
all all of us have done that. But scripture doesn't
celebrate the sprint. Scripture honors the faithful march. In Galatians six',

(06:12):
Nine paul, writes let us not grow weary in doing,
good for at the proper time we will reap the
harvest if we do not give. Up that's the twenty mile.
March it's not, flashy it's not. Viral it's just faithful,
obedience day after. Day, now the original twenty mile march
actually occurred When israel was in the. Wilderness god could

(06:35):
have taken them straight into the promised, land but instead
he led them on a forty year. Journey Why deuteronomy
eight to two tells, us remember how The lord Your
god led you all the way in the wilderness these
forty years to humble and test, you to know what
was in your. Heart each day they, marched and each

(06:56):
day he provided just enough, manna not too, much not too,
little just. Enough the twenty mile march is about Trusting
god's daily, provision walking in, faith not running in. Fear
think About. Jesus he didn't sprint through his. Ministry he
didn't try to.

Speaker 2 (07:14):

often now once in a, while not just before the.

paul's life was anything but. Easy he was, shipwrecked beaten in, prison,
rejected and, abandoned but he kept marching as. Well In
acts twenty twenty, Four paul, says, HOWEVER i consider my
life worth nothing to. Me my only aim is to
finish the race and complete the. Task The Lord jesus
had given. Me paul had a twenty mile march mentality plant,

Generation he wasn't chasing, cloud he was chasing. Faithfulness now
how does this apply to us? Today in, business, parenting,
leadership and our spiritual. Walk the world says go hard

business with integrity in both feast and, famine and, faith, read,

pray worship even when you don't feel like. It and
generosity give, regularly not just when it is. Emotional the
twenty mile march is about, rhythms not, resolutions faithfulness and not.
Flashiness so let's make it. Practical what's your twenty mile?

(09:25):
March think of one area in your life where you
need more, consistency more, discipline more trust In god's. Timing
now ask, yourself what is doable daily or weekly habit
THAT i can commit? To WILL i keep going even
when the weather turns spiritually or. Emotionally CAN i trust
that obedience over time produces?

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Blessing of course it.
