What it is, what it do, cyber world. It is
your girl, the one and only Ash Brown. And this
is the Ash Said It show, over two thousand episodes
since twenty fourteen, half a million streams around the world.
And none of this is by itself. None of this
is just all on me. This is on account of you, guys.

(00:22):
So the shares, the cares, even the hate. It has
helped to spread the world, the word of Ash Said
It all across the world, all right. And today my
guest is the founder of a brand that I am
absolutely positively obsessed with. I've got Ralph from case Koup.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Hey, Ralph, Hey, guys, Hey, thank you for having me
on air.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Yes, thank you so much for joining us, Ralph, and
so to start things off, Ralph. For people that are
completely unaware and never heard of this brand, what is
case Koup.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Well, great, thank you for having us. Case Cool is
a brand that I created like nine years ago. So
now it's been.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Selling a lot of products on Amazon, I think, all
over the world in US and North America, Colein in
Canada and now in Europe and Japan and of course
in China. So we are a China originated brand and
we mainly focus on our case products, on case products.

(01:36):
So we we've been here for a little side of
ten years and I think we.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Made pretty.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Pretty good cases that I myself am proud of. And
our signature case is iPhone case with a ring kickstand
that is compatible with mag Safe and it can you know,
flip out.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
And spend so you can stand your phone up whatever
angle you want it.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
So basically that's what case coup and our main product is.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
It's less than thirty second introduction.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
I love it. I love it. Yes, you guys actually
sent me a case from my phone. Thank you so much.
I certainly appreciate it. And I got the case, and
I have to say, Rob, like, I am so impressed
with this case. I don't think I'll ever buy a
case from anyone else, honestly and truthfully, thank you. It's versatile.

(02:40):
And then I've never had a case with a kickstand
like this one. Like this one, I can put it,
I can hold it at any particular angle, like I'm
at work in my midday and I can have my
phone standing up on my desk. I've never been able to.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Do that before.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Like usually it's like constantly my phone is in my hand.
I'm getting cramps throughout the day, you know, so it's
kind of hard, you know, as you're walking and doing stuff.
So to be able to have this phone to have
its own like built in kickstand, because usually what happens
with me and iPhone cases is the ring usually wears out.
Usually the ring wears out and it just stops holding

(03:17):
and it's just but this one is solid. This is
the most solid ring that I've ever had on the phone,
and I am beyond impressed with it. So kudos to
you and your team.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Thank you. So I am actually living alone in another.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
City from my home, so my family is all back
and home, so I literally live on myself.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
And I eat alone, I sleep alone.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
So every time, you know, nowadays we live on mobile phones.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
We consume all the content from our phones.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
So when I have lunch at dinner, I would try
to keep my phone up stad and so I can
watch a little bit TikTok shows.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Back in China, it's called doing.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
So when one day when I was eating McDonald's, I
couldn't find somewhere that the phone can lean.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
On, so I put it on a tissue box. When
I picked.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Up some tissue, the phone just fell. So I thought
to myself, I need a kickstand that's built on a case,
and it also must be compatible with the mag Say functions.
So finally, after ten months, the kickstand, the ring kickstand,
just came into place with the engineers.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
So that's how their story begun.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
And we also have it registered as US patents. So
you can see the patent number inside in the inside
of the ring.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Right wow, yeah, yeah, and I see that as well,
and I mean beyond the phone case itself. Like, the
whole collection is described as a celebration of self love
and warm and whimsical expression. So how do you feel
that cascou continues to promote this broader message of healing.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Wow, that's a big topic.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
So one day, we the whole team, just gathered and
see what our most cherished values are. And since I yea,
my wife and daughter are about to come to our
city to visit us during the summer vacation, summer holiday.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
So what we cherish most is love. So we want
to give love.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
To those who are working hard to get a good life,
who are just leaving their hometowns to a big city
and chase theirdery. So we want to give them support,
So that's why we design a kickstand, and we want
to make all the visual elements to echo this uh,

(06:09):
this core value.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
So that's why we we we collaborated a little bit
with those uh.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Blogger of bloggers or or those influencers who are also
in support of such concept. So when it came to
Maui the Dog, uh, the owner of the dog told
us that all their followers are are obsessed with the
ASMR that their videos are embedding.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
So that's why we we saw.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
The core value of this uh cute little dog, the
cute little sheep dogs. So I myself enjoyed it a
lot even before the cooperation, the collaboration. So I feel
pretty relaxed every time I saw.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
A new episode is on air and I try to
figure out which is which and listen to those pretty,
you know.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Reassuring sounds. The natural response to those massage you know what.
I bet you've seen those videos.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
They just the human beings massage those dogs.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
That's pretty pretty weird, but it's pretty satisfied.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
In fact, it's it's very comic. Like I actually discovered
may through you guys, because I really wasn't I wasn't
aware beforehand. So as I was learning more about Case Coop,
I was like, what is it? Who is the man?

Speaker 3 (07:45):
You? Who is this?

Speaker 1 (07:47):
And I started looking at his videos and I'm like,
I was like, I'm following. Yep, definitely followers.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Oh yeah, start out to the dog.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yes, yes, oh wow, And so you know, getting into
that whole collaboration, so you know, mayus part of this collection.
So I wanted to go into a little bit about
what was that collaborative process, like, you know, as far
as the design goes.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Oh yeah great. So after they agreed to collaborate.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
With us, it's it's pretty natural to move on to
the designs. In fact, we appreciated the my team a
lot because they left a lot of.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Freedom to us for us to.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
In fact design the case in our own will. So
they gave us all those pictures, all those videos that
could inspire us.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
So we just we just kept the designers.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Going like Philly for two weeks and they came up
with a couple of.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Themes. So the final see that you are using right
now is a dog that's lying. In fact, it's.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
The main scene in their videos if you watch.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Watching some and.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
The dog is lying there and the dogs sometimes have
different expressions or or status. So we just uh you
used a a new combination with a case and a
couple of magnetic uh switchable little classic Yes, Oh.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
My gosh, I've never had that before. And I was like,
this is so cute, Like why don't people think about
stuff like this? Like I was like, oh my gosh,
like with him with the cucumbers and then he's got
the little mask. God, I was like, oh my gosh,
this is like so I can just pick, you know,
honestly per hour, like which menu I want to use?

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Oh wow, great to hear that.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
In fact, we were inspired by by those girls. So
all of our designers are girls. So in fact, let
alone my use a dog. It is in fact a
lot of girls and back at home, so it's after

(10:20):
a bath, then they decide which they are going to
go through, which therapy to their face, their skin they're
going to go through.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
So it's a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
So after a couple of discussions, they just decided we
are going to have it all. So not any expression
on the case, but every expression. So we just made
all those expressions and make them switchable.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
So every time you feel you know, you know, on
decide if you just take everything.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
If you have noticed, you can take all those switch
for magnets out and just switch them whenever you want them.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
You can just stack them up. So it's a lot
of fun. So in fact, we are.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Doing this in another collaboration between us and an art museum,
so we can just switch on different paintings from famous artists.
So we just leave a blank painting frame on the case,
and when you switch different paintings, you just like enjoy

(11:36):
a touring an art museum every time you switch on
a new new painting.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
So it's it's also a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Yes, that sounds amazing and I can't imagine like how
awesome that's going to be to see what you guys
and when you came together with I know that the
art collaboration is going to be even better. So I'm
so excited to hear about that. You know, definitely when
we you know, we get some more info on it,
but beyond phone cases, like can we talk a little

(12:06):
bit about other tech accessories you guys might be working on.
Can we talk about anything or is it still like
under wraps?

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Okay, well, thank you for mentioning that it's in the
secret project.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
I mean, I mean.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
It's just we we we mainly make phone cases. When
we talk about this Mario collaboration, we also produce the
side product, which.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Is the uh squeechy.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
Uh stuffed dog stuffed my figure and it's so so cleaner.
So you know, we heard the screen of our phones
are pretty not so clean. So so when we worked
with Marie team, we propose that we make a squeeche

(13:00):
and they just agreed. So we have several design several versions,
and then they agreed with the final one.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
I think you have one on hand.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Right, yes, I do, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Okay, so this dog have I think there are four
magnets and four uh it's arms and legs and then
it can you know, it works free like.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
A Disney souvenir.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
But the difference is that this dog, the belly of
the dog can.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Be used to clean the screen of the sohone, which.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Is pretty you know stick right, I mean I mean.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Sixy right, but it's fluffy and I think the kids
love those.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
And when you know today you talk about a phenomenal figure,
the la boo.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Boo, Yeah I heard it. Yeah, oh yeah, everybody, I mean,
everybody's got to know about laboo bo. That's that's big
stuff over here.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
That is, in fact, I have a big labovo as
a guard of our door and office.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
It's another story.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yes, oh my goodness, I can imagine.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Right, I personally love those things. Although I'm middle aged man.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. We like what we like,
and I think we're to stage in life now where
you know what, we don't even care?

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Oh yeah, well thank you. So when when my daughter
talked about my obsession into those cute figures.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
She was like, ah, that's my dad, and I love
those Hello Hello kitties.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Those those a lot of things Hello Kitty. I grew
up on Hello Kitty. I was obsessed with Hello Kitty.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yeah, I just love those cute figures. I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
I also like pretty manly stuff, but you know, when
it comes to the soft part in my heart, I
just couldn't refuse that.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
And I'm sure your daughter appreciates that. I'm sure she's
got plenty of.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I didn't intend to become a girl that by loving those,
but I first loved those, and then I.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Had a daughter. It was meant to be it, Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
With over one point six million unit sales on Amazon
as of last year. What is what would you say
are the key elements of case KU's e commerce success?

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Oh, thank you for.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Calling that a success, because we do have a long
way to go, and by selling you know those many,
I think the quality itself.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
A lot.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
So we have a lot of return customers. So every
time Apple launches a new phone, new release, we are
going to see a lot of customers just coming back.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
So every every peak up the.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Sales happen app when Apple launched their new phones.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
So since the product is.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Pretty sturdy, the customers might use one case, which is
our case like for the lifetime of their phone, and
next year or in two years they switch to a
new phone day just buy another new case, which is
pretty normal by.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
All kinds of standards.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
So I think in US a lot of customers just
signed contracts with those big telephone how to say, companies
like Verizon a TNTN.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
When a contract.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Aspires, they just switch a new phone and then they
then the older case reminded them of some amazel and
they just browse and search by branding. So that's the
signal when we can confidently say a lot of return
customers are.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Helping us and supporting us.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yes, yes, I'd imagine that. And you know, with the
rise of sustainable practices and just being aware of the environment,
how is Case School addressing environmental issues as far as
like the product lifestyle, life cycle of the products and
material sourcing.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Oh wow, that's a great question.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
In fact, you know, there are different standards between kind
of trees when talk about uh eco friendliness. But since
we are doing most of our business and overseas like
in the US and in Japan, we appreciate a lot
that our suppliers can comply with our standards, which is

(18:18):
also the US standards and Japanese standards. So we choose
very carefully the materials and also the coding.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
So when you talk about eco friendliness, you just can't uh.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Overlook the coding process and also the packaging.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
So we are using soy inc on.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Those packaging, so whatever you see in the on the packaging,
it's printed with soy inc.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
And then we uh we donate.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
A lot of money to environment uh eco friendly uh
organizations to to to.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Just plant trees.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
So every case we sell, we try to contribute a
part of the margin to pland trees.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
So in fact, we're doing.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
We've been doing this like four years, so like four
years ago you already see an.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Eco friendly uh mark on.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Our Amazon listings. Yeah, and then we are also sorry.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
There's also yeah, there's also one more.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Thing that we are about to launch in China, So
we are we are collecting those old cases where there's
from a case who are not We are trying to
uh collect those youthed cases and offer those who send

(19:55):
in those cases coupon that they can purchase a new
case fool case. So those old cases, mostly not from
case school, are built with I have to say, maybe
not so.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Good material, So we collect them back and.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Give them to a professional processing organization so that they
can be dealt with properly. And then we're gonna sell
out new cases with a certain discounts so our customers
or so we make sure more customers are using eco
friendly cases and.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
More sturdy cases. So the less plastic you use, the
less damage due to earth.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
So we want our customers to maybe use a more
durable case so they just change less during the lifespan
of their ant.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yes. Well, I love the fact that you all are
taking the environment into account because you know there's so
much going on. There's so much stuff happening, and you know,
despite what some people may say, you know, global warming
is real and are just our environments are definitely being

(21:15):
damaged in so many other ways. So the fact that
we can take a stand with Kiskup as well as
some other brands and just really work on sustainability and
just preserving the world. So I love the fact that
you guys are actually doing that.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Thank you. And I'm a firm believer in science. Yes,
I studied computer science back in college.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
I'm a pretty firm believer in those science numbers.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
As am I. I mean, you know, we can go
that's a whole other topic. They're Ralph, But I want
to say thank you so much for coming Throughoulph and
dropping these jumpstones on us. Let everyone know the best
way to get some more information and of course to
get their case cool cases.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Thank you Ashley for having me problem. And guys, you
can browse case School.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
On whichever social media you are accustomed to, and also
on Amazon or on Google, browscascoo dot com and you're
gonna find everything, and hopefully we are gonna offer you
read something you really would enjoy.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
And thank you guys.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
For your support, absolutely and I appreciate you much more
success to you and your whole team. Ralph. Of course
you got to come back and share with us. Ralph,
I know there's going to be more announcements, a lot
of exciting things going into the end of the year
into next year, so we would love nothing more than
to have you come back on the show and share

(22:49):
with us. So keep that thank you.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Definitely will thank you, Ashley.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Not a problem, and I appreciate each and every one
of you guys. Thank you so much for your love
and support. Keeping in mind. Anyone to tell you that
you can't do what you want to do, you look
them square in the face, you tell them, don't believe me.
Just watch watch what I do. Watch me make it happen,
Watch me make history. That's what we're doing this for

(23:15):
the history books. Social media is nice, but real life
