Speaker 1 (00:02):
It is what a dude, cyber world. It is your girl,
the one and only Ash Brown, and this is the
Ash said It show over two thousand episodes since twenty fourteen,
half a million streams around the world. None of this
is possible without you, guys, So I thank you so
so very much. Today is a wonderful, glorious day. I
(00:24):
am talking to one of my favorite people. All right.
She is the section leader for one of the biggest,
most prestigious bands out of Miami, Florida. Miami Carnival is
going to be lytty this year, as they always do
every single year. But party room squad section, I mean
(00:47):
the section leader, her name is low all right. She's
dropping them gems on us today, dropping gems mass at cyrus.
What's up, low Hey ho?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
I am good, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Oh, thank you for coming through. I know you a
busy lady. I heard they said it was feathers everywhere,
and I don't know, they said some sequence and stuff
is missing, and then it was some gems somewhere. I'm like,
follow the gemstones. That's where Lowe was at. Follow the gemstone.
So I'm super excited and really glad that you had
(01:26):
a chance to stop in with me, because we've got
so much to talk about. You know, we've been definitely
blasting Cyrus out to everybody and letting everybody know that
that's a section of being. They need to go check
out party roomsquad dot com and get into that. But
you and I, you know, we share a lot of
(01:49):
uh history, we share a lot of artistry, we share
a lot of family stuff, and so we both know
a lot about the history of Carnival. And for the
untrained eye and for people that are maybe not of
the culture, they don't know too much. They think, you know,
Caribbean people is out there. We just were taking off
(02:09):
all of the clothes and we're stripping down and were
winding and grinding and we're getting down and dirty with
it because it's Tuesday and they ain't got to go
to work tomorrow. So I wanted people to get a
little bit from your perspective, give them a little bit
of the history of what Carnival is and what it
means to us today.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
So Carrival, a lot of people are and sometimes I
feel like everyone that isn't the dice bro.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
To get the whole purpose and the meaning of coyingdal
And with Carebian Carnival.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
It is definitely a celebration, It is definitely spiritual, but
it's all remembering our ancestors and how we got here.
It definitely represents the revolution where each country in the
Caribbean Islands rebuild against the oppressor. How our families and
our ancestors and our descendants those before us set.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
The past, set the.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Way, and how they celebrated it by interpreting like in
job job, you know, interpreting the Everyone.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Looks at it as oh, evil or demonic, but.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
No, that's kind of like a.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
View of what our people went through. They went through
evil tortures, they went.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Through hell in their own way.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
So it's just a portrayal and the liberation.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
And it's that opportunity people look at all they're just
being waved this opportunity to let out a rage, but
in a positive way, to let out, you know, some
destruction in the sense, in a positive way, just making.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Sure that we don't forget where we come from.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
We don't forget that we're from those sides.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Of the tracks in that sense, you know.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
So it's it's you know, our ancestors, they had certain colors,
they had certain dresses, they do certain fabrics, and it
all displayed how they felt. They mean mimic the the
the wives of the oldpressors. And you know, you have
like the old school math and you have the new
school masks. And unfortunately throughout, you know, with the transition,
(04:08):
you'll see a lot more skin and you know, we're
in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
But reality is, that's one of the main reasons why I,
you know, I.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Went ahead a name for me and us as dropping
gems want to always keep in mind and in mind
the younger generation and also pay harm as to the
older generation that we haven't.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Forgotten where we come from, especially myself.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Starting off, you know, helping mom and family and friends
with stitching and gluing and putting things together and listening
to the elders talk about, you know, Carnival when they
grew up and their interpretation.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Of Carnival and how they view it now.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
It's you know, we all love it. We all love
to have fun. We all love to be out on the.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Road and be hid and drink and eat.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
But it's like, you know, you have to remember how
we got here and to never forget it. So pretty much,
you know, just we welcome everyone doesn't. You don't have
to be from a diasper to jump with us, but
we want you to understand and respect the concept that,
you know, this is not just a passion show.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
It's not just you know, to show skin.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
It's literally repaying homage and we want to.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Never forget you know, our different countries receive the Republic,
how they receive their independence, just being on their own
and what our people had to fight for.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
It's going to forever be remembered.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
And I feel like nowadays that concept has been forgotten
and it's just a concert reminder of you know, culture,
family and history.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Absolutely that that was very well put, my friend very
well put. I love it. And of course you are
affiliated with the premier band of Miami Carnival. I know
many may may you know, come at me about that,
But Friding Room Squad, you guys are celebrating thirty one years.
(05:57):
That's amazing.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
Yeah, party Room Squad.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Despite what people may feel. Everyone has their band and
they love.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Their band, But I love Party Room Squad.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
I've been with Party Room Squad.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
For a very long time and Party Room Squad has
always been the same.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
They're one of the bands that don't skip a beat.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
They stick to their model of being a family oriented organization.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Making sure that mascuators get.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
What they paid for, making sure that the food don't
run out, make sure the dreams don't run out, make
sure the music stayed pumping.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
And keep you vibrant and filling life.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
On the road. It's definitely at times you will hear
some masqueras. Oh, it's kind of like the underrated underdogs.
We've always been there. We've always been there. Like any organization,
we have, you know, moments where we have us and
downs where we did lose one of our leaders last year.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
This is like the first year of us pumping and
being on the road without him.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
But he is definitely with us in spirit. But our
ultimate you know, thanks this too. Our band leader was
Carl Monte, who is amazing and we're doing our best
to make sure that his vision keeps going his vision
and while he's there and he's, hey, guys, you know
we're doing awesome, and like sir, it wasn't for you.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
You know, he helped us. He keeps us motivated and we
keep him.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Motivated, and it's just very grateful.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
It really is a family organization with the Monteses they
do an on standing job and his vision for this
year the Royals of the Continents. When he came to
us with it, I was like, man, like you got
a vote with ideas.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
You know, and you know he was he was like, oh,
you know, he's like, I literally got a vote right here.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
So great, great leader, great man, And definitely want everyone.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
You know, I've gotten, you know.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
People from Canada reaching out. I've got people from you
can't reaching out and it's just one of those listen,
we are here and we're here for everyone. But you know,
we do good, clean fun. You're definitely go get your
money's work and some and you know, do we I
would say a good almost ninety five almost a bit
(08:19):
about ninety ninety percent of our old masure do. They
do come back with their friends and their family. And
we're just making sure that everyone knows that we are
family and that you know, this is home and we
welcome everyone.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yes, And I think that's what what's helped you guys.
Thirty one years is a long time because I tell you,
my band break up a couple of times, and I
think we're coming I don't think we're coming back. I
don't think I don't think that's happening.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
So it happens.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
But you know what, I think a lot of times
they forget, they forget the reasoning behind it.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
And it's not all about, you know, the monetary value
of it. It's literally keeping it about the culture. You know.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
We we all, I say things to some of some.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Of those who are not, you know, for the carrivan. Listen,
the difference between you.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
And I, unfortunately literally is.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
A boat stop. You have those that stopped.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Then Haiti, you have those who stopped the Jamaica in TNID,
that Antigua, same Lucia, Bahamas.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
At the end of the day, we are already we
all July eat the same thing.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
We have a different name for it, you know, but
we are all related. We literally are all from Bastlas.
So it's just like you know what, Come be with us,
Come eat with us, you know, and come party with us,
and come in and confit with us, and do.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Things with us as we want.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
You know.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Hey, we go Thanksgiving, you go.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
To that neighbor's house, and curiously to go to that
neighbor's house.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Hey, ours is.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Doing this time con celebrate liberation with us.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
So definitely, definitely welcome everyone.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Yeah, yeah, I want to talk Cyrus down. I want
to talk about your your section of Cyrus this year.
Tell us about that theme, man, tell us, you know what,
what is the vision for it?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
The science is one of seven sections. We're representing the
concept of the Royals of Persia and we're keeping the
theme and we're making sure our costumes.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
And that was the whole point.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
You have these.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Themes and you want the costumes to represent it. So
it's all about royalty. And my section is purple.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
We have a veil.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
It's so much details. When you guys go and visit
a website, it's to the point where this year we
heard a lot from our social media outlets and even
our group traps where the mass Guraders are having a
hard time choosing what section because all the sections are hot,
all the sections are beautiful from the details, you know,
(10:47):
it's it's breathtaking. And even when it comes to our
mail section, I feel like our mail section this year
it's popping, Like guys, everyone come and play because everyone
can fit, Everyone gets in and everyone is going to
look beautiful. Everyone is going to feel that sense of pride,
(11:08):
that sense of royalty, and with Cyrus.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Like I said, we we have limited space. We definitely
have we have availability.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
But it's it's selling.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
And like I want to say, about three.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
And a half, almost one.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Of our four sections is almost sold out and we
just drop about a few.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Weeks ago, almost three weeks, three weeks ago. So it's you.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Know, lock in secure with your deposits because it's going,
it is going, is going.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Yes, I mean, let's talk about front line back line.
So how are we breaking up the different sections within
the section.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
So with party rooms quiet in our past, we discovered,
you know, they're saying the front line back line, you
kind of start to scene and kind of give that
vision like oh, you can tell you they's been that
much in theirs and they live this way that way.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
It's to all that we all look units.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Everyone or has the same based costume and if you
want anything extra, you go with the back pieces. We
have the small, the medium, they're large. With the head pieces.
You know, you have a large head pieces of a
medium head piece, so everyone looks the same. And if
you want to be a little bit more extravagant, you.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Go with your large backpack. And we actually are almost
sold out with that.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
But We have a few available for the large on
the medium, but everyone gets the same based costume that
comes with the Tierra, comes with all the gems and everything,
so everyone looks the same. So we keep that constant
and that constant it's been working out very well for
us for the past few years.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Right, And where do people need to go? They want
to go ahead and just secure their costume, put down
that deposit. Where you need to go. What do you
need to do?
Speaker 3 (12:56):
It's party room squad dot com. When you go to
party room Squad, you will scroll down and you will
see Cyrus and you definitely go ahead and click Cyrus
register get started. We are offering promotions where when we drop,
everyone receives a discount, and we're pretty much preparing to
(13:16):
extend that discount up until the weekend.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
So we recommend everyone to go ahead and lock in.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Make those deposits while space is still available.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
That's the move. And if people want to get in
contact with you know, and they want to follow you
on social media or whatever the case is, what's the
best way for them to reach you.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
They can reach me through social media at dropping gyms
is dropped underscore in as a Nancy underscore Gym's mask.
Send me a DM email, reach out to me. I
definitely communicate very well to everyone. I touch baces with everyone.
There's no such thing as a dumb question.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Listen.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
I answer every thing, and especially for those who are
new to the experience, I welcome you reach out to me.

Speaker 2 (14:10):

Speaker 1 (14:12):
I love it, Lod, thank you so so very much
for having time. I know you headed back into mass
camp and all them things, so go ahead, and I
know you've got stuff to do, but we certainly appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
And you know, I feel like.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
You're gonna be back with some other stuff.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
I don't know what.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
I'm just like, like, you're gonna be back, wen.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
I'm definitely going to run it back.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
And you know, this is just the beginning.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Despite what's going on with the economy and despite what's
happening in our country, this is definitely a positive outlet.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
And this is just the beginning, just the.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Beginning for ourself and a lot of us. We partner
one part, you know, we we we've still got the
gears going and we don't plan on stopping.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
And God's way we're gonna.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Keep sounds like a plan. Well, much more success to
you and all of your team. I know you got
a whole host of folks helping you, guys, and just
pushing this thing forward for October because Miami Carnival is
gonna be madness. So everybody out there, if you haven't already,
go to party room squad dot com, go secure your
section there at Cyrus and then you'll be jumping with Low.
(15:24):
You'll be jumping with Low in Miami, and that's gonna
be what it is. So I appreciate you, guys, each
and every one of you. Thank you so much for
your love and support. Keeping in mind. Anyone to tell
you that you can't do what you want to do,
you look them square in the face, you tell them,
don't believe me. Just watch watch what I do. Watch
we make it happen, Watch me make history. And so
(15:46):
we're doing this for the history books. Social media is nice,
but real life is so much better. Until next time,
you guys,
