this is the Ash said It show over two thousand
episodes and half a million streams all around the world.
None of this is possible without you, guys, So thank you,
so so very much. Today my guest is the general

(00:23):
manager and executive director of Trilith Live. We've got Matt McClain.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Hey, Matt, how you doing Ash? Thanks for taking the time.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Thank you so much for having time. I mean, Trilith
is just an amazing just a great thing for Georgia period,
the aspect of Trilith. Yeah, so when I heard about
Trilith Live, I was like, Okay, we got to get
into this. And I know schedules have been conflicting, but

(00:56):
we got you here today. So to start thinking off,
you know, Trillith Live isn't just a venue, It's a
part of a larger visionary community. So how does this
unique ecosystem at Trillith Studios and the wider town of
Trillith influence the programming, design and the overall experience for

(01:21):
Trillith Live.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yeah, certainly.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
So I think it would be fitting to start off
with what the purpose statement of trill is as a
whole ecosystem. So I'm going to just give it to
you real quick and then I'll dive into some more
specifics on it. So at Trillith, we set the stage
and enrich the lives of the.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Story makers who inspire the world.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
So there's a lot of tidbits throughout that, but a
couple of the big ones are setting the stage, enriching
the lives, and then those that are inspiring the world.
So with that, you know, when you're set in the stage,
it isn't just a sound stage or performance stage, but

(02:07):
it is the overall ecosystem.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Right.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
So what what what is Triliff offering? Was the studios
offering the town? What is trilif Live offering?

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
And and how are we providing an experience that.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Has people eager to come and be a part of it?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
So how is uh, how is the programming, the design,
the overall experience.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Being kind of, uh, you know, influenced by these other groups?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Right? So, Uh, the studio started, you know, eleven eleven
or so years ago, and with that they've built their
own ecosystem. So they've got media parks with all of
these businesses that are helping support the productions.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
The town then came in to really start to help
to support them. But what has been built is this ecosystem.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
So there's hotels and rest and families living here and
production workers living here from all levels from the entry
level below the line all the way to the above
the line, producers and directors. Right. So, when this venue
was first being fault of, the only thing that was
being really considered was a cinema. In every given town,

(03:23):
you see cinema so people can go and partake in entertainment,
which is one.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Of the things that really influences society.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Well, from there, the studios were up and going. They
were rocking and rolling, and Steve Harvey came to town
and shot several several seasons of Family Feud.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
When some conversations with our chief visionary, he said, you
really need.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Some purpose built live audience spaces that can really meet
the needs on the town side, and they can be
connected to the restaurants and the hotel and move around.
And through that it said, okay, let's have both a
cinema and some live audience stages. And then from there
Passion City Church was coming to the area. They were

(04:06):
opening their third location in Georgia, so they're up in
Buckhead and also in Cumberland and now have a location
at Trillis and.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
They needed a home.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
And our chief visionary really feels like I was mentioning
a moment ago that the live entertainment in entertainment as
a whole, really influences society and that people flock to
it right and want to experience it because it's an experience.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Unlike any other.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
And so we need to we need a venue that
not only can host passion, but can host all types
of entertainment, cultural arts. It can host concerts, comedians, it
can host speaker series. So the way that we got
influenced by all these other groups is the fact that
there was this ecosystem already here right that that led

(04:58):
to it, and what you try to provide to a community,
and that being the town that is continuing to be
built out with base three of residential being built now
is really sort of the pieces that all sort of
fitting together into this puzzle, this jigsaw puzzle of something
that hasn't been done before but really meets what Trillick

(05:21):
is in needs.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
By having the studios in the.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Town here are bringing all these other pieces together to
create shorwflot.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Wow. That is incredible. How like all those pieces fit
together just to support one another. I never thought about
it like that. That is incredible. That is incredible.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Now, given its connection to a leading film studio, what
specific technological advances or innovations both front of the house
and back of the house has Trillith Live incorporated to
enhance performances, audience engagement and production capabilities.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yeah, certainly so. The studios across the street.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Everybody knows studios very well, and the Marvel movies that
come out of there, Superman that was just released last Friday,
so great, great things have taken place there on this
side of the street. I just mentioned the live audience
stages and how they are built right so to to

(06:30):
meet the needs of live audience.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
But if we back it up just.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
A step, Trilith as a whole when it comes to
sound stages is known to have some of the best sound.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Stages in the world. The way that they're design.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
And architect uh and the capacities that they have to
handle some of the biggest productions. So what was done
on the studio side and all of the history and
best practices that was taken from pine Wood Studios in
the UK that were originally brought over to build Trilla's

(07:02):
studios here many years ago, were brought over into Triliflave
so that we have some of the best sound stages
not just in the country or in the southeast, but
in the world. So we're really excited for the spaces
that those are. But in addition to that, we took
some of the best practices when it comes to live
audience TV and put.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Those needs under all under one roofs.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
So we've got production support spaces that include production offices,
VIP start, dressing rooms, catering spaces, wardrobe spaces, even down
to things like power that helped the production is put
on their show. So we've got as much power in
each of the stages as what you would have in

(07:47):
over half of the NBA arenas in the country, So
more power in a single twenty five thousand sure foot
stage than half the NBA arenas in.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
The country have.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Right. But then moving from there into phase two cylinder
construction will open at the end of this year. This
cinema is not just a standard cinema, but it's a
luxury cinema that has a lot of different offerings. So
there's nine total screens there, but they range from micro
screens which have capacities of twenty to forty all the

(08:17):
way to large format screens similar to like an IMAX
or a GTX screen.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Of three hundred capacity.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
They have outdoor party terraces that can handle guests. They
have they have bars and food offerings all within the
cinema space. And the reason for that is we're right
here across the street from Trilli Studios. Do you think
about a local regional premiere. Do you think about people

(08:45):
at the studios wanting to come over into screenings? There
is opportunities within for that. But the other really big
thing is the community. Right, So you think about.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Those small micro screens.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
You could have a local business come to do a presentation,
sells pitch in one of them. You can have a
family that lives here in town or in Ptree City,
Fayetteville or other close by areas come and buy out
one of those small micro rooms and do a kid's
birthday party watching a recent release of Disney movie or

(09:19):
whatever it may be. So those spaces are built really
really to encompass the needs of the community right and
really take into effect into account the business needs and
the local community needs. So then we move over into
the theater space of the live performance space, and we've

(09:43):
got this amazing facility that we are going to have
one of the first in the country immersive sound systems.
So everyone's heard of the sphere and how the sound
and the video wall just kind of immerses of takeover
of your experiences and everything.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
That you are just enjoyed in this live entertainment.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
So this sound system, what it does is picture a
comedian on stage, and the way the system works is
it processes the sound in a way that is so
much different than a traditional left right audio system. When
you go see a concert, you see the speakers hanging
on each side of the stage and blaring music at

(10:31):
blaring sound or music at you. Well, this system processes
the sound in a way that when that comedian walks
from the center of the stage to.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
The left or right side of.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
The stage, your brain is able to interpret that in
a way that you can tell they're moving on the
stage with the way the sound is hitting you. And
what it does is it just engulfs you in the
experience and brings you in and creates not only more
clean and chris and understandable sound coming at you, but

(11:04):
a sound that's coming at you no different than someone
walking in front of you as you're having a conversation.
They're moving left and right in the kitchen or whatever
it may be in a space. The sound system now
is taking that in and immersing you in it. So
those are a quick hit on three of the major areas.
But one thing that I'd be remissed to not mention

(11:25):
is we've connected the entire facility, all of these different
spaces through fiber and conduit runs, so that if you're
in one of the sound stages and something was going
on in the autor, we could project that.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Into that space, or vice versa, so that this.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Whole facility could be connected for one large event, an
overarching takeover event of a festival, or a big speaking
engagement event, or a big corporate convention conference type event.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
So we're really.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Excited for the way that this facility has been built
out that you could be part of it no matter
where you are.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Yes, yes, that wow, so Vegas has a sphere and
we've got Triller's Live there you go, there, you go.
So I mean, I'm just want to get out.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
We can.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
If we can be mentioned in the in the same
words as the sphere, we're we're doing something right. They
just ranked UH number one in Pollstar for for total
tickets sold, so or excuse me, total total gross UH revenue.
So they're they're doing something right over there. But we
we're excited for all that we have to offer here

(12:41):
in the Southeast, for sure.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yes, as we should be. I mean it's we're creating
a whole experience for people, because, like you said, if
people that want to come to town and they want to
see a show, but they also want somewhere to stay,
they want food, they want to you know, do the
tours and things that they don't even have to leave
the area. They don't even have to leave the compound

(13:06):
because there's something to do everywhere. And then that's like
the most inclusive situation I'll say that we have.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
In the South.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
You know, I'm a night of New Yorker, all right,
So I grew up in New York. We moved on
to the South when I was around six, and so
it was always awesome in Atlanta and being able to
go to different places, but sometimes you know it would
be kind of a hike. Okay, you want to go
to the movies, you want to go to the fair,

(13:37):
you want to go to this restaurant. You know, you've
got to just drive up and down. There's no getting
around it. But with Trilli, it's all it's all built
into one and I absolutely love that idea. Kudos.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
You can drive into town, you can park in one spot,
you can go to dinner. Yeah, you can go check
into the hotel, you can come over, see the show,
go back out, have a nightcap, enjoy some some late
night bites in the night, and then drive back where
you're going or if you're not coming from from a distance,

(14:11):
and it's just a quick easy drive into town and
then pop back to whatever town, city community that you
live in. So we're really excited for all the offerings
that are here and how triflve is just going to
continue to lift everything up in the local community.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Yes, and Matt. For people that want to get some
more information or they want to see they want to
keep up with you guys and see what is next,
and you know when they need to book their trip
and how they need to come down to trill It
where do they need to go?

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Yeah, certainly. So. All of our social channels.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Are live as of just just a few weeks ago,
so we're posting on those.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
All the time.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
But then Trilithlive dot com is our web page. We've
got our first initial landing page one. Now we're working
on our full fledged website that'll have all of the
the ticketing and event calendars and everything built out on
it here in the coming months. But you can get
some of that initial information and you can sign up
for the newsletter to get more information. As we continue

(15:11):
to release information and start to release event postings for concerts, comedians,
family shows, whatever it may be, performing arts engagements will
all be coming through that website.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Yes, definitely looking forward to that. Matt, Thank you so
much for coming through and sprinkling us with all this awesome,
amazing info on Treili's Live. We cannot wait for all
these big things that are coming to town and coming
to Trilla.

Speaker 3 (15:42):

Speaker 1 (15:45):
If you can't tell, definitely, and I appreciate each and
every one of you guys. Thank you so much for
your love and support. Keeping in mind anyone to tell
you that you can't do what you want to do.
You look them square in the phase, you tell them,
don't believe me. Just watch watch what I do, Watch
me make it happen. Watch we make history. That's what

(16:06):
we're doing. This for the history books. Social media is nice,
but real life is so much better. Until next time,
you guys,
