Speaker 1 (00:02):
What all do is diver World. It is your girl,
the one and only Ash Brown, and this is the
Ash set It show over twenty one hundred episode since
twenty fourteen, have a million streams around the world. None
of this is possible without you, guys, so I thank
you so so very much. Today I have an incredible
(00:25):
guest that comes from one of my favorite places in
the world. Usually, if I'm not out and about in
the atl you know, I'm probably taking a class here. Okay,
we've got Leah. She is Lifetime's regional manager of fitness programming,
and we're going to talk about the new grand opening
(00:47):
of its next club, which is in the complex of
Atlanta's majestic King and Queen Building. Hey Lea, Yes, and
thank you so much for having time. I know you're
a busy lady, busy busy.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Of opening the club. So it has favor of love
for the last two weeks or so, so it's awesome. Now, Yes,
I'm excited to talk about it.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yes I'm as I am as well. Now this new
Lifetime it's located in the King and Queen Building. I
have for busy executives, so there's going to be tons
of at aliens, entrepreneurs, business owners and all those things
that are going to be kind of flocking in and
throughout the area. So what specific services or you guys
(01:39):
are going to offer at this particular location that's going
to help cater to those professionals.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Well, like you said, we're right in the at the
center of perimeter. We're on the cusp of really Dunwoodie
and Sandy Springs. We're kind of a combination of the
cab and Full counties. The King and Queen buildings are
now over ninety five percent occupancy, so we do have
(02:08):
professionals and already in the first three days of opening,
we've noticed that there's a lot of professionals that are
taking advantage of early morning before work workouts, lunchtime after work,
taking a break as remote potentially working remotely, working in
(02:29):
the club, remotely, taking classes, workouts. But it's an all
inclusive and we like to call Lifetime a resort because
it is pretty much when you see it a resort,
it's a club, not a gym. We are absolutely meeting
the wellness, fitness, and all the work and leisure needs
(02:51):
in one space for any professional, but also for those
stay at home moms. For obviously people young and old
with old diversities. So right there in the at the
center of the perimeter area, we can cater to everybody,
really and it's an awesome luxury club.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yes, I absolutely agree with you on that. It's absolutely
a club. Like I mean, people that belong to Lifetime,
they will tell you out the gate, this is not
a gym. This is not a gym at all. And
that can be any more true. I mean even just
like I said, the Sandy Springs location is the one
that I had gone to previously. You know, you could
(03:32):
literally spend a whole day there. You can spend the
whole day and you forget about time. I love that absolutely. Now,
with the King and Queen Area being a business and
family oriented community, how do you balance creating a high
performance fitness environment and you know, also with a welcoming
(03:53):
atmosphere for all ages.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Right, Well, we have many different amenities. We have the
outdoor pool, we have the indoor pool year round heated.
We have juice bar, coffee, we have a workspace. We
also cater to the kids where we have the kids
Academy where moms can drop off their kids. They have
(04:18):
an infront room it's toddler room. We do activities for
the kids. But more importantly, if you're not just going there,
maybe to pump some iron, so to speak, or to
take a zoomba class like I think you enjoyed. Maybe
at Sandy Springs, we have a whole hydro therapy suite.
(04:39):
We call it our recovery Space, but what it really is,
it's just an environment where you can do some stretched
tables with some qualified personal trainers. You can do a
cold plunge, you can do a steam room, you can
do a sauna. So it is about working out, it
is about fitness, it is about cardio's strength work. It's
(05:00):
more about just fitness goals that might be a part
of just recovery and options for people to recharge and
feel their best, maybe during the day going back to
the office or just going home after a long day
of work. We also have really great, great family life
(05:20):
balancing family life, so we're able to let moms and
dads enjoy their weekends while their kids are in the
Kids Academy and be able to just get their own
little workout and time together. So as I said before,
it's just an all inclusive club, and you spend the
entire day there if you want to, and you can
(05:42):
get a lot out of it in an entire four
to five hour day if you want.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Oh yeah, yeah you could. You will lose track of
time and then you're like, wait a minute, what.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Am I doing? I need to go get them?
Speaker 1 (05:58):
I love it. Oh my goodness. Now a little birdie
told me Leah that you have a background in the
high fashion industry before moving into fitness. So, yes, how
does that experience with high demand, high pressure environments inform
the fitness programs that you develop for clients with similar lifestyles?
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Right? Well, I mean I do feel my background in
fashion in New York City really just kind of created
maybe my personality or my mindset around just understanding how
to pivot, how to work off high demands. You know,
(06:41):
I do love that whole mentality of the customers always
right experience. But more importantly, fashion isn't much different than fitness.
Fashion is about evolving and changing with the trends and
meeting the needs and love of young and old or whatever.
(07:02):
You know. The fashion trends happened to be me. I'm
fifty seven and I feel like I dress like a
twenty one year old. You can ask my kids and
my but fitness is just like that. We evolve as
the changes in the fitness industry evolve, and Lifetime is
just amazing at keeping ahead of the trends. So yes,
(07:24):
there's drama in fitness, just like there's drama in fashion,
but it's all around the passion that we all feel
about what we're doing with our lives and just creating
a better life for all ourselves. And Lifetime really values
our members and we want to give them the best
experiences ever, So I think kind of like fashion, I
(07:45):
wanted to give the best passion trends maybe back in
the day, but I feel like what I'm doing right
now is such a bigger value because we're changing lives,
We're making people healthier, happier, you know, we building a
commun unity and a new place like Perimeter. So yeah,
(08:05):
I'd love that you asked that question, because yes, I
feel like it has helped me become a good leader
or a servant to the company and to the club
that I'm at, because it's just amazing to work at Lifetime.
We're really really an amazing company and we value everything
about what we do, and we just love what we.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Do, yes, absolutely, And I just love the fact that
the new club has such a strong emphasis on recovery spaces,
as you well know. You know that's a huge thing
for especially professionals that are in these jobs, and you know,
with that wonderful location there in the complex. So why
(08:49):
why do you feel that it was crucial for you
all to focus on this recovery and the specialized training
for these professionals right right.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
You know honestly, Which it's funny, like I would love
to compare what your background is in fitness, but I
was that cardio junkie, just like a lot of the
people in my generation that felt like, you know, cardio
is everything you had to do birthing run. But we
are realizing in this day and age that it's about
(09:19):
stress relief, it's about nutrition, it's about a holistic wellness.
You know, doing what's right for your body and for
your mental state is all that matters these days. Long
term mobility, long term strength and and and wellness is
(09:40):
really what we're all about. So we have an entire
floor dedicated to exactly that. We have hydro therapy beds,
we have stretch specialists. I see my girl raven I
got to give a shout out to her. She's a
Sandy Spring. She's at the her gone me. She's telling
(10:01):
me what I'm doing right and you're wrong. And then
she's on a table. But we also saw and we
also have massage, we have skincare and most of our facilities.
But it is about that amenity. If you went to
a resort and you wanted to take a holistic approach
to your vacation time, you can get you can get
(10:22):
that at Lifetime, like every day, every day of the week,
every day.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Yes, yes, I love that. I love that. Now, last,
but certainly not least, what is the single most effective
piece of advice you would give someone just starting out
their journey at Lifetime.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
You know, I taught my first class on the first Monday,
and that was yesterday, and I and I was giving kudos,
welcome to Perimeter. You're my first class, and I hope
it's your first class. And I just said, let's not
all peak to soon. I really need to hone in
(11:04):
on just take every avenue that you get from the educators,
the people that know how to educate you on all
the different programs. We have someone training, we have Stretch,
we have obviously group fitness. We have outdoor pickleball, we
(11:25):
have outdoor tennis, we just have swim, we have kids,
we have you know, just a holistic approach in our
recovery area. But just too soon. Just take everything, start
slow and find what your niches, find your time that
works for you. We have such an amazing team. You know,
(11:46):
we change the name from Sales to Concierg because just
like a risk curlsion, that's what we are. We want
new members to come in and be given avenues that
will make them feel onboarded and really good about their
path to their goals. So contiers will sign a new
member for a class or a pickle ball or you
(12:08):
know one on one training with a specialist. So you know,
start flow and then find your niche and just explore
all the different areas. Perimeter is huge. It is just
amazinglyge to be able to explore different programs in different
ways that you can just find what you like the most.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Yes, I love that, Leah, thank you so much for
coming through sprinkling some little gemstones on us. We love that.
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
It was awesome.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Yes, and I mean it kind of goes without saying,
but I'm going to say it. Anyways, you got to
come back, Leah. I know there's going to be updates.
I know there's going to be announcements. I would love
for you to share it with our audience. First love that.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Yeah, I got Perimeter and if you you know, well,
if you want to come as my guest any time
I am, have you joined any class we have?
Speaker 1 (13:07):
I love it And let everyone know, Leah, the best
way if they want to come in and try out Lifetime,
what's the best way for them to go about that?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
You know what? Actually you can actually go on our
website and it is the Lifetime Fitness Perimeter Concourse, Concourse Parkway.
Feel free to come in as a guest. Definitely reach
out and call the fraud desk and they will set
you up. We have guest services going on right now,
(13:39):
so absolutely that's the best way. Check out our website.
We have an app that will show classes that you
can attend, and we have a ton of workshops going on.
We have small group, we have large group. We have
obviously kids activities, pickaball, tennis, pool, master, swim, outdoor run.
(13:59):
Like I could just keep going and going and going,
but if you actually just want to come and take
a tour. We're always available to do that. We have
people that would absolutely love to do that. And I've
been giving chores. Our personal trainers or apts have been
giving chores, and just come, just come check it out.
You'll love it at first sight.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
I love that so definitely. Appreciate you so much and
your whole team. Leah, keep up the great work, oh
the great goodness putting out there. And I appreciate each
and every one of you, guys. Thank you so much
for your love and support. Keeping in mind. Anyone to
tell you that you can't do what you want to do,
you look them, swear in the face, you tell them,
(14:40):
don't believe me. Just watch watch what I do. Watch
we make it happen. Watch we make history. That's what
we're doing this for the history books. Social media is nice,
but real life is so much better. Until next time,
you guys,
