Speaker 1 (00:03):

iHeart Podcast Network.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Thank you for listening. Give us ten minutes. We'll try
to make you laugh. I remember, it don't cost nothing.
Got the Big Cat, Got the Puma, The Big Puma
on with me here from the Sports Cave in San
Antonio like we do in every show.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Thank you for doing that. How do I get that
sports Cave? Oh?

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Super easy, as always anywhere you get your podcast, just
go up to that little search bar and type in
the Sports Cave with Biggest Puma.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
I saw this thing an interview with Alec Baldwin the
other day and he was talking about he said, you know,
the most regrettable thing except for shooting a coworker. Yeah.
By the way, I know Daniel Baldwin as a friend
of mine. I was in a movie with him and
did some other stuff with him and Daniel he's the

(00:56):
one Baldwin that handshot anybody.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
He's a good guy.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Alexi Jerk, I think anyway, religious one. No, no, that's
the other one. I actually met him too one time.
He's I can't remember what his name is, but he's real.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
He's really religious.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
It's not just anc Yeah, he's a good he's a
nice guy. I liked he was a good interview. Anyway,
there was say they were talking about his daughter, Ireland,
and he said, I had, you know, one regret with
my marriage with Kim Basinger, that she and I had
a falling out. But they got back, you know, they
kind of they've reached agreement that they're going to get along.

(01:34):
And for Ireland, of course, she's a grown woman now.
But remember he called her a pig on the answering machine.
Everybody heard that.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
That's right, I forgot it. Yeah, okay, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
But he anyway, I but the other day I just
happened to be flipping around and I caught The Getaway
with him and Kim Basinger. That's thirty year old movie now,
and uh, he's talking about his one regret watching that movie.
There was that one scene where she's totally I bet
he's got I bet that's his biggest regret seeing that,

(02:07):
letting that get away. Wow, is she smoking hot? That
was and that was a good movie. And you know
the remake, that being a remake, it.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Was pretty good. I mean, it wasn't the original.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Steve McQueen get Away, but it you know, with Ally McGraw,
But it was pretty still pretty good watchable.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, it was fine. I always wonder when.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
It you know, when it comes to the the ultra
famous and their uh you know, romantic partners like that,
it just feels like there's no possible way that their
relationship was anywhere close to normal. So like when you
think about, you know, my one regret for the relationship,
it's not gonna work out regardless.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
So because you're in that business now, any no.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
It's got a you know, it's got an expiration date.
Just about every single one you know, and less you're married,
unless you're a superstar marrying a school teacher or something.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
You know, it's like it's got an expiration date.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
It doesn't feel like there's if you had any thought
that this was going to last thirty years, that your
first mistake.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
It was like when Julia Roberts married, I love it,
and then I think she finally got him out in
the light and went, holy cow, this.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Well speak the Dolly's now since past Carl Dean, guy
that we never saw, never saw in the public light
hardly ever and.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Married what forty forty eight years or something like that
is crazy.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
See, that's I think if you're if you are the
ultra famous like that, you almost have to swerve away.
Well yeah, Tom Brady's ex wife Giselle dating the bull
Rider now right, I think he's a cutting horse guy.
He's a he's a cowboy Texas. Yeah. Or Lana del Rey,
the pop married to the This is my favorite one.

(04:05):
She's married to one of the biggest pop stars in
the world is married to a random alligator tour guide
from Louisiana, And that kind of makes perfect sense. If
you're that famous, you kind of need someone that is
ultra patch rounded.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Yeah, Like, whether you're about public education or alligators, you
gotta or riding horses, you gotta have something that grounds.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
You, something that keeps you and keeps you balanced. There.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I remember this old guy lives here and a man
told you this story when they were filming the original Getaway.
They filmed some of it around Central Texas.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
And my friend who's.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
He's ninety one now ninety one years old, Jack lives
in Dripping Springs. He was filling up his car at
the there was a shell station had two pumps and
he was filling up his car are and he looked
across there and dripping springs. He looked across and Steve
McQueen was filling up a motorcycle. He was out playing
on his motorcycle when he wasn't filming, and uh, and

(05:10):
so he said, man, I couldn't think anything to say
to Steve McQueen, and he said he looked up me,
give me a nod, and he said I gave him
a nod.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
And it was like that was cool, you know, just
the two of them.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
But so that was neat to see, to see Steve
McQueen and dripping spring sexes, you know. And he also
told me he when he was a kid, a guy
told him that Bonnie and Clyde.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Had came come through dripping springs. They were they.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Were out off of Martin Road and me in the
middle of nowhere, and this old man was farming. And
they stopped their car and got out and walked over
to the fence and said, you know, show me on
a map where we are, because none of those roads
and dripping they're barely on there now, some of them,
and the guy. The guy showed them where they were,
but he acted like he didn't recognize them, but he

(05:55):
he did recognize them, so it was it was actually
Bonnie and Clyde, they all the back room.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Actually he didn't recognize them.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah, well, I'm sure you know in those days they
had enough posters out about him.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
You wouldn't want anybody.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
To to know you you recognize them, because that's probably
be the last thing you did.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
You know, that's what in fact? Yeah, well another speaking
of another lost recently, the great Gene Hackman.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Oh I love Gene Hackman.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
I love Gene Hoosiers. I know you love Hoosiers. Probably
your favorite Gene Hackman movie, he'd be.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Oh man, I'm a sucker for I'm a sucker for
Old Hall, I mean, is one of that's that's a
top twenty film all time for me, maybe top fifteen.
I liked the mean I mean again, like Hoosiers, I
liked I liked Gene Hackman when he was mean, I mean, unforgiven.
I don't know how, I don't know, I mean anything

(06:50):
above that.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah, I'm worried he got his oscar for that. And
he just stood there and was and started laughing. You know,
it's like, oh man, I can't believe you know, that
I did this.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
As a sports movie, but I also love it as
the actual story of the Hickory High School what their
real name is, you know, the fact that it actually Yeah,
I love a good sports movie, but I really love
it when it's actually based in a true story, like
a Miracle the hockey movie, right, I love that one,

(07:25):
remember the Titans. You know, the best sports movies are
ones that are, you know, taking some kernels of truth
and then filling in the narrative and telling a good
story along the way Hoosiers is I mean, yeah, when
Jimmy Chitwood walks into the meeting, I figure, it's about
time I play ball again. Come on, Yeah, yeah, that's great.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
And he shuts down the one old guy that was
trying to get the team, you know, be the coach
of the team, and and uh, you know, I remember
somebody played college ball then it was in that movie,
and he got in trouble because they paid him and
he went to do that. I remember there was some
controversy one of those guys was actually a college basketball player.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
So yeah, and the team that they end up playing
in the ship in real life, it was either the
year before or the year after. It was either Elgin
Baylor or Oscar Robertson. I can't remember, but it was,
you know, a future NBA Hall of Fame fifty greatest

(08:26):
basketball players ever. He was on that opposing team.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
That maybe that's what it was.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I remember there was some controversy about if guy got paid.
It wasn't you know, he was a college ball player.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
You know, I would imagine back then, man, if you
were if you were really good, it was probably really
easy to get away with some illegal payments to probably
a certain university, or to get you a car or whatnot.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
By the way, we fully endorsed illegal payments right here.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
I mean we're all there on that. So you know,
whatever what work.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
I'm not sure the way our government's regulating things these days,
I'm not sure they're gonna get to uh payola on
a podcast and.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
We're pretty pretty far down the line. Uh what is
the old saying?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Sammy already was in a movie at one time and
the guy and Willie was the star of the movie.
It was called Songwriter and he walks in with a
song or a tape and and he was and it's
actually done in the Cavette studio where the movie was
filmed the old Cavette studio and Willy walks in and
he said, and Sammy already was.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
The DJ in this movie.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
And he said, hey, is Paola dead for you know,
wanting to get this on the air. And he goes,
dead man, it ain't even sick.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
And he.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Flips us.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
He throws his he throws the deal on and he
I mean immediately goes to that song, goes, hey kids,
here there's a new one everybody's talking about.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
He gets make cash. Awesome, awesome seed.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
