Ever thought about trading your house for an RV and hitting the open road? That’s the question Bama Brown kicks off with in this laugh-out-loud, insight-packed episode of The Bama Brown Experience. Joined by his ever-entertaining partner Puma, the duo dives into the do’s and don’ts of RV life—from rookie mistakes to luxury pitfalls—sprinkled with personal stories, road-tested wisdom, and a few hilarious detours.

Bama shares a heartfelt and humorous tale of transporting his father across states in a massive RV, while Puma confesses he’s never dared to drive one. Their banter is as real as it gets, especially when they break down the Top 5 Things to Know Before You Rent or Buy an RV—a must-listen for anyone with a case of RV fever.

But that’s not all. The episode takes a tasty turn with a debate over the “Worst Fast Food Chains” (spoiler: Bama still loves them all), and wraps up with a classic “Bonehead of the Week” segment featuring a Florida man, a UPS truck, and a failed escape attempt that’s straight out of a sitcom.

Whether you're planning a summer road trip, reminiscing about your favorite dip cone, or just need a good laugh, this episode delivers. Don’t forget to subscribe, leave a review, and share this episode with your road trip crew or fast food fanatics!

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Well, hey everybody, Bama Brown, will you on the Bama
Brown Experience. I heard podcast network thousands are listening. We've
been doing this since really seriously about the January, I
think is when we started this podcast and appreciate the success.
We really really appreciate it. I was looking at some
do By the way, Puma my partner. I should mention

(00:23):
my partner since he's doing everything and run everything. Tonight,
you're live with your podcast. Hell everybody, what's happening, buddy?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yeah we are. We're back live on YouTube tonight, eight
o'clock normal, eight o'clock Downbeat at Sports Cave live on YouTube.
But if you just need the audio, trust me, I
understand this. You don't always need the visual, especially when
it looks like a Gallagher knockoff might be smashing a watermelon.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
He does look a lot like Gallagher. Yeah, but I always
as a compliment Gallagher, I went to Gallagher, what's one
of the funniest shows ever? Saw?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
It was great up, I think without having watched any
of it recently. But you just need the audio. Just
search for sport the Sports Cave with Biggest Puma wherever
you get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
This is one of my meanest things I ever said
in a concert. I am seed that show for Gallagher
and Uh. And when we got down there at the
Paramount beautiful old theater in Austin, you know, they had
all the walls covered with plastic and and I said,
because it's a time. Bob Cole and I were competing
a very good friend of mine, great friend of mine,
and he's a big guy, and I said, hey, don't

(01:31):
don't let this plastic throw you. Bob was in here
eating barbecue earlier, and we just wanted to make sure
he didn't get it on the walls. You know, that's good,
that's good. He called me some bitch making jokes about me.
He heard about it. That was awesome. Uh, I don't
know a lot of people may have r V fever,
you know. And now this summer's here and you're traveling

(01:53):
around and doing stuff. Here's five things to look at
before you rent an RV or buy an RV. And
this is of stuff, and it's always in my list.
I'll start at five and go down. Uh, get your
reputable booking company if you're going around a cross country
make sure somebody that everybody's used and is approved and
all that because there's anybody can be oh yeah, and

(02:14):
you get up there and you know you're where there's nothing.
You know, there's not even a place for you. When
you get there, you found out it was a scam.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, so someone's backyard and right, angel Fire, New Mexico.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Absolutely so Puma's exactly right. You don't know who it is,
so be sure and go with a reputable booking company.
Number four, go easy. Don't go too far first time out.
You know, when you go, oh, we're renting an RV
and now we're driving all the way to you know,
Colorado or up something. Go easy, go local first. Get
used to an RV because I drove an RV a
couple of times, and nah, ain't easy, man.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I have never I have never set behind the wheel
of one, and I don't plan on it. It just
seems it seems so so much more than I can
handle behind that hip.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I had to grow I grew up, you know, when
my dad had trailer you know, RV campers and that
kind of stuff. We did that, and then we got
in the RV a couple of times. And then one
of my dad uh got sick. He had a stroke,
and I had to bring him from Alabama that to
out here to Dripping Springs, Sexas. I rented the giant
one with a big bedroom in the back so he
could just ride comfortably, like being in you know, in

(03:22):
the house. Uh, A big one like that. Man, that's
a handful, I'm telling you. You imagine. But I'd driven
a lot of eighteen whinlers, you know, growing up in
the field, so I could do it. But even I
was like, this is a this is a lot of action.
You need to rent that Robin Williams movie. I still
think people have said that wasn't a good movie. I
love that movie. I thought it was very funny. I
like Robin Williams anyway.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
But yeah, I was about to say, if Robin Williams
is in it, it can't be terrible.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Terrible, But I mean it wouldn't hiss anyway.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Number three, let's see plan ahead. Reserve once again. Check
your reservations. Always be checking your reservations constantly on the
trip to make sure they have a spot for you
when you get there. Number two, research the difference between
r vs. You'd be amazed how good some of them are,
how some of them are all name and no product

(04:11):
that is a lot of that. I'm not gonna use
any names. One big one comes to mind. I'm just
telling you you just want to make sure you get
a quality one. Do some real research, and number one
is rent one. Don't buy one. Rent one. See how
you like it, because the biggest part of that, oh,
you're gonna do I'm gonna buy one, drive it everywhere,
you know, three hundred thousand dollars something, two hundred thousand,

(04:33):
you're gonna I'm gonna just I'm gonna go into there
and you use it three times and then you're selling it,
you know, And so.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Those things cost multiple hundreds of thousand, hundreds of thousands. Yes,
oh my god, I guess I'd never thought about it.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
But yeah, unless you've got two and let me say
it this way, unless you've got two or three number
one hits, do not buy a giant bus and go
cross country. And even then I would be careful because
you're I'm telling you that I've had some friends that
bought these, you know, with all the you know, the
push outs, you know, they get where they are, it's
like being in a house. I mean, they're fantastic, but

(05:10):
three four times a year that's it, you know. And
the older you are, the less you're gonna want to travel,
you know. I mean, people go, I'm gonna go see
this country. Well you can go see this country and
a lot easier than that. But once again, I've had
some good trips in an RV, so I'm not knocking
at at all.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Just buy the house and aspen instead of buying an
RV to drive.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
There, Airbnb your your house.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
You bought there, you know, And so lord, well I
guess with I mean, with as limited as housing is
these days, I guess you probably could airbnb an RV
if you had.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
And dripping springs, there's a whole I mean, we've got
a park over there. That's there's a couple of vacancies.
By the way, if you're looking and you've gone to RV,
you need to live in they've got you know, people
live in them because you can't afford dripping springs anymore.
Is an average house eight hundred grand or some madness.
So there's a buddy of mine runs that. He goes, man,
they got everything, I got, running water, city water, they
got you know, it's not a bad way to go.

(06:07):
But once again, you're in an RV. It's not a
house and it's a totally different deal. But I think
a lot of people could. A lot of people are
having to live in a different way than they used
to because of inflation and all that kind of stuff.
Worst fast Food list came out, I'll hit it quick, Wendy's,
Sonic Taco, Belled, Dairy Queen, and KFC, which those five?

(06:29):
I just this has been Monday, Tuesday, Wedndesy. I love
all these.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
How does I wonder how does Dairy Queen fit in
with the rest of those? I still loved Dairy Queen.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Loved it, the one in dripping clothes and so you
had to go to Wimberley now if you want a
dip cone, you know, and and uh, I love a
dip cone. Oh my god?

Speaker 2 (06:48):
What what's the old brown Derby?

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:52):
I still the first time when we pulled through, uh,
the first time with my roommate with the wife here,
and I called of the brown Derby and she just
looked at me and she's like, what are you talking about?
And they made it like, to their credit, they knew
exactly what I meant. She heard that phrase before. It
took me back to my old man always calling him
that that.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Was one of those I grew up with as well.
I love I love the dip cone and and uh
it was just I mean, there's that race to get
to eat it all four it starts running down your hand,
you know, as you bite into the chocolate. It was
just absolutely delicious. And I want to thank Garry Queen
for diabetes the You did a good job on that factor. Yeah,

(07:33):
and little Debbie, I'll throw her some love as well
on that. Uh, let's do a bonehead. You want to
do bonehead? Michael, You gotta love Michael Diversa is his name, Diversa.
He lived in Uh he still lives there. I guess
he's just in a different place now. He is in
Holly Hill, Florida. Michael's a guest of the state now.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
He tried to shoplift at the Loves there and uh
he's putting tools in his riches or whatever he was doing. Anyway,
caught him and he ran and he got away, and
he jumped on the back of a UPS truck to escape,
and unfortunately for Michael, someone saw him do it, so
he was still on the truck when the police pull
up behind the low the UPS truck and he's hanging.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
On to the with all these tools weighing him down.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Yeah, I don't I don't have any tools he I
don't know if he threw him down or I don't
know what happened there, But I do know if we
know his name, it didn't go well. That's always the
thing about the bone heads. When we know your name
in your town, that means it didn't go well. Let's see, Uh,
somebody stole the Ronald McDonald in front of the McDonald's

(08:39):
there in Poconona, Pennsylvania. They would like to have the
Ronald McDonald's doll back, their statue back.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
So yeah, I mean, look, I understand if you're stealing,
if you're stealing food to eat, Okay, if you're stilling
like that last dude, stealing tools because you're actually going
to use them on a job, like, it's still it's
not justified. It's not good, but I understand it a
little better. Why the hell do you would you steal

(09:05):
the Ronald McDonald's statue, Like, what are you even you're
gonna put that in your living.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Room sitting there? Think it's the one that was sitting
on the bench. So I guess you know, if you're lonely,
you can put Ronald in the sofa there at the house,
you know.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
And so, actually, now that I've asked that question out loud,
I don't want to actually know the answer.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah, what do you? What do y'all do?

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Imagination is going too far down the rabbit.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Man, it's a good place to get out right here
when it goes creepy. It's when we go to the house.
