Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hey, you're listening to the man Brand experience on now
Heart podcast and it's uh world work screwed up with
the podcast network. I need I need some more at
golf medicine. That's some good Boom will give me some
golf medicine that I think he's been cooking his own
down there. Anyway, speaking of poma with a big cat,
you got the sports cave? How do I pick that up?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Oh man, We're about to see who has the heavier tongue.
Uh see if I can get through this without uh
following in your footsteps. Anywhere you get your podcast, we
prefer the iHeart app, but of course anywhere you get them,
just search for the sports cave with biggest puma. You know.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Growing up now in San Antonio, you guys got an
awesome zoo down here in San Antonio. I really liked it.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Great zoo. Great a zoo that has uh you know,
really not just expanded, but brought some really cool new
stuff to the zoo over the last few years. I
mean there's a pantera walk now, a big cat walking right,
so you can did.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
They show your respect when you walk in there being
the big cat?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, there's a there's an instant level of mutual respect.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Walk I haven't been in a while. I need to
go back with you and walk through, like with royalty. Now,
I grew up in it. What I grow up? I
never have grown up. But I was a kid in Atlanta.
I was born in Atlanta. In the Atlanta Zoo was
a was a pretty big deal. And uh uh. And
then you know, Austin Zoo is kind of you know,

(01:31):
they don't really it's.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Not that better than the Austin Zoo.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
New Orleans Zoo I was at. That was a pretty
awesome zoo before Katrina, and now after I understand it
has really struggled. But I saw this story up in Norfolk, Virginia.
There's zoo up there. The gorilla got loose and got
out of the zoo. And I mean because of Facebook

(01:56):
and because of the phones, I mean, it blew up.
Everybody was scared to death, crazy gorilla running around. They
were having sightings and you know, this gorilla was like
killing people and attacking people and climbing up side of
the Empire State Building with you know, fay re and.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, with a woman in its hand. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
So I mean, all this stuff was going on and
then the guy, the head of the zoo came out
and he said, yeah, we don't have a gorilla. We
never had a gorilla. There's no not only did not
one not escape, We've never had one that would have escaped.
We've never had a gorilla from the get go. So
I don't know who much yall are seeing or what

(02:38):
you're talking about, and why you're panicing the entire city.
I don't know because it's not it isn't from our operations,
so please leave us out of your crazy story. So
no one knows where the sightings came from if there
was a which made it even worse now because it
now could be any kind of gorilla, you know, it

(03:00):
could be just to and of course it went immediately
to you know, being from the woods.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
You know, it was this sounds like this, sounds like
YETI into a bigfoot conspiracy here herefoot YETI.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
And then it's you know it's came from you know,
it was on its way to the zoo and it
fell out of the train. I mean, or it started
with just everything, so uh what what I But that's
what I love about the internet is you can take
something on the internet light that match and then step
back and watch it go. And people do that. I

(03:34):
mean people do that all the time, just to see
how far it'll go. You know, this is the this
is the wildfire of electronics. It's like I'm going to
start up some ship and then just see just I
can step back and watch and see what happens.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
You know, it's always you know, you always see uh
you know when when a local news network or a
local you know, affiliate, local channel and picking up like uh,
you know, Norfolk County Zoo missing a gorilla and then
you're what research did you like, did y'all not contact
the zoo or did y'all not ask anything? Like where

(04:10):
it's you got this from a Facebook group?

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Like most immediately your first call would be to the zoo,
you would think, so you missing your gorilla?

Speaker 2 (04:23):
You know, I love it when you know this harmless
or yeah, completely harmless level of trolling of you know,
seeing how far you can push a lie like this.
It happens all the time on you know, sports reporter.
On social media. You've got all these fake accounts of
people breaking trades that aren't actually happening or ever happened. Yeah,

(04:48):
you know, using a creating a fake quote and putting
it out there, and before long you have some of
the you know, biggest reporters in the sports world that
are saying, well, you know, my so horses are telling
me that, uh, you know, so and so hasn't shown
up for a practice in three months. And it's like,
you did you got that from uh, from one fake

(05:10):
account that is spreading it all. But again, I I
do appreciate the bit. I do appreciate just to see,
just to see who the most famous person will be
that picks this up and runs with it as truth.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Of Puma's not gonna He's setting it up because of
mine that I did with Nick Saban that time. And
I know you you're you're being nice not to point
it out, but I did this once once in my life.
I've actually sad. Yeah, but it was, and I'll explain it.
I'll explain exactly what happened. So you know the man

(05:46):
it was flying around Saban's coming to ut Saban's gonna
coach ut you know, And a friend of mine was
a realtor in Austin and was showing Nick Saban's wife
a house. And I'm you're sitting there laughing at because
you remember when I started this thing, because I think
even you and Mike called me about this. But anyway,

(06:06):
uh so I put on Facebook. I just put one deal.
I said, I want to see if this will go.
And I had no idea whatsoever. But I'm a brown
so that's gonna get you know, that's gonna get some
attention him being from you know, the University of Alabama,
which I have no connection whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
I can't even have a coffee mug because they have
they own Obama band registers, you know. So I'm sitting
there going I have confirmed that Nick Saban's wife is
presently looking at a home in Austin, and that was
all true.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
And and with that you lit the match.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Remember that, John, the first one was John Madanny called
me from ESPN called me, you know, because I know
a lot of these sports guys over the years, you know.
Uh And so get him immediately he goes, what's dealing?
That is this true? And I said, I'm gonna repeat
it the same way that they put it on Facebook.
I know for a fact, I can confirm that his wife,

(07:12):
saving Nick Saban's wife, coach Alabama is looking at a
home in Austin, right at this exact moment friends with
the realtor. He goes okay, and he goes with it,
and then after my Danny and then I'm almost positive
you and Mike went immediately with it too, because it
spread through the iHeart or back then Clear Channel first.

(07:35):
And so I started hearing from all these sports guys.
They were like Craig Way, who was the voice of
UT goes how true was this? How did you hear that?
I said, she is in town looking at a home.
It was for their nephew, and she was just helping out. Sure,
she was just helping out. It was just coincidence.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
You didn't lie. I never lied, never lied.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
And so he came out. Nick Saban came out and said,
I'm not I'm not going to university. I'm not there.
I don't know. I'm almost positive. I think Nick Saban,
I can't say for sure, but I believe I'm the
reason he had to come out and say I'm definitely
not going to the University of Texas. I think I
caused that. And I got to tell you I would

(08:22):
never be an arsonist. But you can kind of step
back and go, man, I look what I did.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
You can kind of step back and say, man, that
looks pretty fun. Started some shit fun. I love the universe,
I love the idea that somewhere along the way, Nick
Saban had to say, who the hell is this Bama Brown?
And I happened to respond to what he said.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I could well by then, you know, it was some
real sports people, you know, and some and Danny, I mean,
he was a big dog at ESPN and he he
had to after all. Then like the next day, he goes,
I'm never believing another word you say ever again. And
I'm like, I was, all right, dude, I had one
hundred and fifty thousand likes and so I got bonus

(09:11):
off of it.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
You know, well, it was that's on him. I mean,
what you told him was not untrue. It was not dishonest,
Matty slightly dishonest in the presentation and timing of delivering
that breaking news.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
And he he was and so he was laughing when
he was telling me, you know, and he said, we
should have known that, just any disc jockey would not,
you know. But but the Bama part added the credibility
of the story, which was what made it awesome. But
I'm just saying I could I can see when you
cause trouble, you know, like you when you push the
when you push the domino and then you step back

(09:50):
and see the big domino thing follow you go. Man,
that's look what I did. I accomplished something and really
I did nothing. I absolutely cause more trouble, and poor
poor Nick Saban had to come up and probably called
this bluff early or something, you know.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Poor Nick Saban, I think exactly. I think it turned
out just fine for all, poor Nick Saban.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah, I think he did okay. I think you did.
Everybody did okay. So there you go. I have another
confession on the Maama Brown experience and that iHeart podcast Network.
Thank you for listening.
