Competitors. If you don't follow thisguy, go following the Zirker Lifter on
Instagram and uh what's going on trade? Thanks for having me guys. You
know, we talked about this lastyear before the rogue, but we got
(01:47):
busy, you know, couldn't setit up the time. But you know
I got a little more free timeat the moment. That's okay. It's
good to have you on it reallyis. So speaking of the rogue,
now, you tore your ride Achilleson that bullpole? Correct, yes,
on that uh, the second eventof the competition. It was a sled
pole with a yeah, well overa thousand pounds, and it just get
(02:15):
get difficult. You know, abunch of factors like the weather get rained
on and made it more difficult thanit happened, and like I struggling,
struggling, and my right achilles snapped, Yeah, I watched the video on
that. It wasn't breaks breaks yourheart and stuff like that happens. That's
(02:40):
but you seem to be doing great. I've been following your progress. You
were getting You're looking like you're alreadone hundred percent again except for your big
thicket that is two point oh youyou look a lot more trim. What's
going on with that? Explain yourhealing and then and then the process of
being uh more stealthy. Yeah,it's healthy. Uh well yeah, like
(03:06):
when you're when you're not allowed tomove our you know, walk for four
to six four to six weeks orwhatever, you kind of, you know,
kind of get a little antsy. So like I love, you know,
since I've been able to move aroundand stuff, I've been walking more
and trying to lose weight. Iwas four hundred at of Rogue, you
(03:27):
know, the biggest I've ever been, and and uh now I'm down to
three forty and you know, sixtypounds and sixty three and a half three
and a half months. Wow,so you lost about twenty pounds a month.
Yeah. Wow. And that's becausehis last video he just pulled was
a seven ninety five. Yeah, like trying to kilo translate the kilos into
(03:52):
pounds. It was like seven sevenninety and uh I got a double yeah
and it dropping sixty pounds and stillpulling. Yeah. Yeah. How do
you feel that's helped your deadlift?Like I can get in a better position
now Like whenever I was the fourhundred, I was a little my hips
were a little higher, and nowI can kind of sit down more into
(04:15):
it. Like it's taking a littletime to get my form back, you
know, trying to get used tothe you know, being at a lighter
weight. But like I think Ican get it, make it come back
quick like already. One of mycompetitions coming up this year is that's confirmed
is the Deadlift Championships, which Giantslive and Las Vegs. Yeah, on
(04:40):
the twenty eighth September twenty eighth, yep period your Arene's arena. Yeah,
you get a lot that. It'sa big arena. It's pretty cool.
Yeah, just being in Las Vegasis funs. We'll have a good time.
Yeah, we'll we get another giantburrito. There's another place that does
a bacon wrap one this time that'sgonna be even better. And we also
(05:02):
got some cheese tortilla tacos too. Those are to die for. We're gonna
we'll go into it like a youknow, a little full like the previous
radio challenge. Well, yeah, very true, but uh, this would
be great because if we can getme you Nick, and we do the
(05:23):
hundred Taco Challenge where all of ussplit is basically split a hundred tacos and
you got five minutes to eat them. Oh okay, alright, you know
what I'm saying, Yeah, exactly, but we can yeah, well we
can also add we could uh,we can definitely bring in rain a part
(05:44):
Evan too. Yeah, he'll bedown here. You know what I'm saying.
We get a little un let's Evangets his own team and then we
go head to head. Yeah, yeah that might be a plan. What
do you think of that trade?I think we can do that three on
three? So yeah, okay, yeah that'll work. Yeah, we'll get
(06:08):
your train justin can eat some foodtoo. Yeah okay, yeah we can
vote through that, I think,Yeah, definitely. I'm looking I'm looking
forward to just watching the video ofthis and seeing which one of those bars
first. It's gonna be good.Let's get a chip stuck in the throat,
(06:31):
yeah one of us? Yeah,no kidding, Oh, that'll be
hilarious. So you come back fromthe Achilles. You just pulled seven to
ninety for a double. Things aregoing really good with your training. Your
first contest back is going to beconfirmed as the shot Classic. Is that
correct? Yes? Brian messing meas if I think I'll be ready,
(06:57):
he said, like, this isgonna be It's one of the heaviest show
you know at the of the year, and it's like, you know,
you think you can handle it,and I told him, yes, I
know I will be able to handleyou know, the competition. And he's
like, all right, this isyour invite and right, so don't know
if I'll get the invite for theWorlds. If I don't, which it's
(07:19):
gonna be, it's gonna be upset. You know what. Let me say,
they're listening to this podcast, somake sure you send Trey his his
invite there? All right, youknow what I'm saying, I'm throwing it
out there. He's don't think hewas fourth last year. There's no reason
why he shouldn't be going. Noreason should but like maybe politics or whatever,
(07:39):
which shouldn't be in sports. Butif I don't, like, that's
more time to train forward the shaw. Okay, got it, So we
neat to see you here in Vegas. That's gonna be freaking cool. I
cannot wait for that. And thenI'll see the shot as well, so
that'd be great of course. Youknow, So, how do you feel
(08:01):
the weight losses affect your overhead?Like it's kind of hard to tell because
I'm still having trouble with the legdrive because the achilles is kind of lagging
back, Like I definitely feel likelike the stability is a little off,
like I want to kind of linkfall forward underneath the weight. But I
(08:26):
think once mys is like like onehundred nine or whatever, like the leg
drive will be a lot, alot smoother because like I still I can
do some calf raises, but it'sstill kind of like mentally not wanting to
be there. I get it.I popped my solace at one time,
(08:50):
so I get that doing a truckpule of all things. So yeah,
I get that. Been there,so yeah, it makes you nervous want
to drive on it again, doesYeah, like it might be nerves like
just like in the back of thehead, but I just feel it's not
strong yet. Mm hmm, LikeI can't. I can't like h pulled
(09:11):
my body weight on my one oneon my right legs just yet, like
my right half I like half raises, yeah, like my left over the
of course. Yeah right, I'mstill like I'm dealing with like my body
is shifting to my left side becauseit's so strong, like just like I
(09:33):
was. I had that knee scooterthat you tried out at the O s
G. So I was flip.So you had that scooter, your leg
got a lot stronger. Huh yeah, my left one get you know,
stronger than my right one since itwasn't being my right one wasn't getting used.
So like just like right quad andlike my right my I left to
(10:00):
quad and glue are just getting strongerand like a little type just get you
a little more. Like I'm tryingto do like after my lower body days,
I'll do some Bulgarian split squads justwith on my right leg and I'll
put my my foot on a phonepad, so I have to deal with
the stability also, mh. Sojust I'm trying to do little things here
(10:24):
and there to help strengthen it alongwith the normal training, right right,
because you're still training there at yourhouse, right. Yeah, there's a
there's a gym that's opened up andin town I live by. That's it's
really good. Just a kind ofcaters to the the broccoli heads. Yeah
(10:48):
you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly, you know, but
it's it's a nice gym. Justget the other patrons. I prefer to
train by myself or if I'm luckyenough to have a training partner, you
know that likes to lift heavy anddo strong man that knows what to do,
(11:11):
you know other than that, justyou know, going to the that
commercial gym and it's just walk walkingto and fro. You know, like
I'm trying to do some carries andthey just walk, you know, stand
in front of you. Yeah, just like can you move and it's like
you just get in my lighting.Yeah, this is gym. Get figured
(11:35):
exactly when you're stronger than me andman, we'll talk worry about lifting wass
before you you know, get youknow, get a cameraman or whatever.
God, yeah, hey, that'smy job. You got someone that knows
you know. Yeah, it's it'skind of interesting. I mean some of
(11:58):
the stuff you see going on andin the gyms and stuff. I mean
it's it's like, okay, man, I'm putting my work in and you
need to pay attention to everything that'sgoing on. Or the guys that have
their headphones on, they got themusic turned up so loud they can't hear
anything going on around them, andit's just like, dude, you got
to have your head on a swallowin the gym. Because some people are
(12:20):
lifting heavy stuff. Some people aren'tbut no matter what, you're gonna get
hurt if you're not paying attention towhat's going on around you. Yeah,
exactly. If you don't want totalk, put your headphones on and leave
it them off. They still thinkit's on up of my headphones on just
because he the gym doesn't play anygood music playing at the Lean Deon.
(12:43):
Oh that's funny. Well, how'syour home gym coming along? Because I
did see you post picture to meabout some equipment. Oh yeah, Like
so I'm building a bigger home gym. So that little garage yeah, you
know, that's like forty by thirtyfeet that's what I've been working out in,
and it's like half of it isalready taken up by you know,
(13:07):
just random junk and this and that. So I'm building an actual like gym,
Like this is gonna be dedicated toa gym fifty by seventy feet.
Nice. Yeah. Middle building isgoing to have sixteen inch walls, sixteen
foot walls. Nice. Yeah, and so I'm quite pressing. Yeah,
(13:30):
I can do stay back closs indoors nice awesome. Yes, I'm looking
forward to I'm really excited, Likethey're gonna be starting the build like I
got the slab right now, andjust the building is going to be started
on the twenty six of February. And it didn't take like tend to fourteen
(13:52):
days. The contractor said, youget the slab down, Well, the
slab is already the building, okay, like ten to fourteen days. It's
like one of those steel ones, almost like a line. Yes, it's
just a middle building. Like I'mgonna get some insulation so I don't die
in the heat of the sex ofsummer. But yeah, it's got its
(14:15):
good points and it's bad points becauseyou use training the heat and then when
you go to someplace hot to competewhere everybody's melting and dying, you'll be
fine. But it's still it's it'snice not to feel you can only do
win or two events before you haveto go in and cool off. Yeah,
sog, Like I agree, what'sthat? But like sometimes it just
gets too bad, too bad, like training for the Shaw last year,
(14:39):
like I was dying. We hada heat wave and was we had a
hundred days of one hundred degree plusweather and like I couldn't get you know,
I do like one one event andget you know, just shot,
like I'm sweating buckets, just warmenough and just like get a gotta have
(15:00):
a little bit of help. Yeah, you end up with heatstroke and stuff.
Yeah, well that's the thing. We train here at the summer.
We get the same thing here,so we don't have the humidity like you
do, and uh, it'll justbe brutal. You get maybe two three
events in then you literally have togo either go in the house, turn
on the fan under the ac andtry to cool your body temperature, or
(15:22):
you just gotta go jump on thepool to lower your core body temperature before
you end up with heatstroke. It'sit's it's real training during the summer.
Yeah, it's no joke. Thistakes a different kind of animal to do
that. It'd be in the middleof the night and it's still over one
hundred degrees in the garage. Wellyeah, Nick's train and I'm like I'm
(15:46):
sweating here just holding this camera.Yeah, like there was there's no relief.
You can't train early in the morningor you know, at night and
it's still stupid hot. M Imean, you can train early in the
morning and it's not baking hot yet, but by eleven o'clock it's it's it's
already done. The damage is doneat that point. It's it's hot.
(16:06):
So but I like it which whichwhich is worse early morning where it gets
hotter and when you're training or youstarted in the evening where it's already hot
and it slowly gets a little colder. Well, it doesn't. The problem
here is the sun goes down. There's so much concrete here, it doesn't
cool off till midnight. It won'tgo below one hundred degrees till like midnight
(16:30):
sometimes, so it stays hot.Even though the sun goes down, it
stays hot. It will drop fromone hundred and ten hundred and fifteen down
to one hundred, but it'll staythat way. It's orbs of heat and
you know it stays baking. Yep. So doing it in the morning,
as it gradually gets hotter, youcan feel it getting hotter and it gets
(16:52):
tougher. But it's the easiest thingto do. But I just don't like
waking up at six o'clock in themorning you're training first, tell you it's
you know, it's hard doing thatbecause that's what I've been doing, like
to help lose weight, is wakingup six six thirty to go for some
walk fasted walks. Nice. Ilike this new slim tray. I like
(17:18):
him three three forty slim to comingdown from four hundred. But it looks
good. It's a good look onyou, dude. I like it.
Hey, and you look more athletic. You look like you can move around
a lot better. Yeah, itwas like I can move a little bit.
Like it's still being I'm still tryingto be cautious with the the Achilles,
(17:40):
like you know, a few weeksago or whatever, like, uh,
coach Chad He's he would put somelike some like med Leases in,
you know Sam's Medley's in, AndI could do like the fat man jog
where you just shovele your feet. We're talking about Chad Clay by the way.
If you don't know, it's checkthem out the you know, Walshaw's
(18:03):
man competitor one time. I knowhe wasn't vited. He's been He's been
doing a strong Man for twenty plusyears now. Yeah. What it makes
good friends. One of my friends, Yeah, who's two days older than
me. Yeah, so I couldcome old man all the time. But
(18:26):
uh, do you got any volleyballcourts anywhere near? Like Sam volleyball courts.
Yeah, I could go to somesand volleyball courts, go walk in
the sand. Yeah, that's whatyou know. Like I live in the
country, I like go walk inthe woods behind my house. Usually there's
a like there's a hill that I'lljust walk down and up like two or
(18:47):
three times, you know. Yeah, the sand's gonna give a little different
because it gives as you step off. Yeah, so it'll actually probably help
your calf, your achilles and stuffquite a bit. And used to pushing
off in that because you have todrive off your foot in the sand.
You have to. I've heard that, so yeah, I've probably seen if
I can give that a shot everyonce in a while, No, yeah,
(19:11):
once twice a week or so,just just walking in it, not
carrying anything heavy, you know, doesn't just go walk in it for just
walking circles in the like. Yeahright, Yeah. I Like I got
the barefoot shoes and won my spineand so you can be like barefoot,
like but it feels like you're beingbarefoot, but you just got like a
(19:34):
thin rubber sole. So I liketo wear those, Like I have a
pair of the broom boots. Yeah, I'll take those in the woods nice.
Yeah, So it keeps my feetdry and you know, dirt free.
Yeah. And burnt boots are reallygood too. Many They're comfortable,
heavy duty and they look good too. And they look nice, yeah,
(19:55):
really really good. I got treePlayers, I got the high tops and
the low tops, so now Ineed to get the those boots. But
I love mine. I'd wear themall the time, love turning them.
M hm. So yeah, allI wear now, Like, I have
a couple of other shoes that likewhat was the the achillies, Like they
(20:18):
had to cut it open, soI couldn't wear anything that, like,
wear anything that pushed into the mymy heel because it doesn't feel like burning.
The nerves still was healed, soI couldn't wear like anything tied around
like that went around my ankle. So I a pair like the slip on
(20:40):
the shoes they have and that's whyI wore for you know, weeks on
end. Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, man, jeez, it's
crazy, and it's it's amazing howfast you're coming back from this too,
by the way, thank you.Well. I mean, most people when
they get an injury, they don'tthey don't take their rehab as serious as
(21:03):
they should, and you're taking itseriously. You're doing what you need to
be doing every single day, multipletimes a day. Everything is since you
know, everything is set up aroundgetting it back to being healthy. And
that's what people have to understand.Like when he came back from that so
fast, I'm like, yeah, but he did the therapy, like every
(21:26):
single day, he did the rightthing. Every single day, he ate
the right way. Every single day, he's going to create more healing.
And then walking and moving and stufflike that. Blood in, blood out,
every single one of those walks increasesyour circulation. That's going to increase
the healing. The doctor's when theytell you to sit down and do nothing
(21:48):
unless it actually like physically needs toheal, like when they're sewing arteries and
stuff like that back together, orit's a repair that it's going to take
a couple of weeks for it tosolid a fire, like six weeks in
the boot. But after that, you know, go walking on it.
Don't do crazy things on it,but get increase the circulation, help the
heal faster. Yes, you know, like it's a progression with everything you
(22:12):
know, training and you know recovery. You know, like I had to
be six weeks. Was out doinganything like like any walking, any weight
on it. Uh Like I wasa little ahead of the curve. Like
yeah, Well the surgeon he said, like, once you get in the
(22:36):
boots, you're gonna be gonna needto be in a raised heel and then
slowly go flat footed. But assoon as I was in the boot,
I could be I was flat footed. I didn't need to put the heel
on. Just uh. Yeah.I was doing a little bit of the
recovery stuff like Chris stuff, andhe gave he was helping me out.
(22:56):
He gave me some protocols to do. He gave me, you know,
a bunch of peptides to like here'sa little of peptize to do, and
and stuff like that. Yes,you know people one, seven and yeah
that one too. I mean itwas unless like you know, like four
(23:18):
or five of them. Just liketake these up almost every day. Like
also like a shock wave therapy, like at the shockwave therapy machine off the
Amazon, a nice cheap, onecheaper one. I would do that every
other day just to help a releasethe scar tissue in the you know around
(23:41):
the injury and those you know inthe calf to help it, you know,
loosen up and help it heal youknow, correct way. But it's
just almost everything, a lot oflittle stuff that people don't do, you
know, that does add up.Old boy run Like I try and take
(24:03):
my recovery guests as seriously as myyou know training, because you know,
for the longest time, I wasn'tdoing all the stuff that the other guys
were doing, Like like I justnow started, you know, started doing
that. Okay, So I neededto my recovery to be you know as
(24:25):
one point as I could. Yeah, that top tier level. Yeah,
doing cold best, doing stretching, doing mobility and like tough tissue work.
It all adds up in the longrun, and that's what's gonna get you
back in less than a year. And that's pretty impressive. I keep that
longevity because I say that's what NickNick's doing and looking at him and he's
still pushing it. You know.Yeah. I love doing it. I
(24:52):
love the process. I love allthis. It's just fun for me.
So it's gonna be good. II just I can't wait. I'm looking
forward to doing a parerloat to Meetthis year. Yeah, the parlat to
Meet. Uh, there's gonna beone here in October for sure. If
that ends up being the time, then that ends up being the time.
(25:14):
There's a few more in the inbetween. I have to get over some
stuff that's going on the next twomonths. And once that stuff's over and
settled and I get settled and moving, then then I'll kind of figure out
which meat I want to go to. If not, I'll go to the
one in October, and then I'lljust I'll try to make it the twenty
eighth year. I've squat it overeight hundred and totaled over two thousand.
(25:36):
Nice, it's gonna be like afifty six. Well, I won't be
fifty six till November, so it'sit's coming up, but still get a
little ways away. Yeah, Soit's yeah, it's it's getting up there.
It's weird, is I age? It's just basically for me, it's
(26:00):
like mobility and joint inflammation. Thequicker I can get that inflammation out,
the better it feels that I canget moving around more and muscle wise,
I think my training is my training. I can be just as strong as
I ever was. It's just dealingwith the inflammation and the pain and the
(26:21):
joints. So the more I canget that sorted out, or the better
I'm gonna do. Is it justicepass or are some other things that you've
done. I know you since youthat kidney's searcher, you have to take
as much supplements, right, soyou have to be careful to not overtrain
as much. I've had to cutsome of the volume down because I don't
(26:45):
want to go rab though, sobecause your kidneys to I have one kid
ney to filter off the breaking downof all the muscle tissue instead of two,
which it can handle it. Butit's still we have the ability,
when we've done strong Man for solong to push ourselves into that area that's
way out there that most people can'tget to, and I have to be
(27:10):
careful with that. I have tocut from two or three sets down to
one. I can still go superheavy, I can still get after it,
but it's it's one set where Ido like two or three sets,
you know of three with like somefifty eight hundred pounds on a squad.
Now it's one set of three orone set of one done and move on
to the next, you know, the next exercise where I would go to
(27:33):
eight or nine different exercises. Inow have to limit to five or six.
But that's okay, that's okay.I can still do it. I
just had to learn how fast mybody will filter everything out without causing damage
to the kidney again. Yeah.So yeah, that's like when I was
coming recovering from my kilees, Iwas telling Chad to quite holding back,
(27:56):
you know, as I was gettinghealthier and stuff, just like quit push
pussy putting the workouts for me,all right, because at the beginning,
when I started working out at thecommercial gym doing the the good Girl Bad
Girls, Right, I think wecan do some squats now, right,
(28:17):
that's good, that's good. Yeah, because yeah, because that's going to
be There's not a whole lot youcan do that won't put pressure on that.
So yeah, but that's that's justlike living events are moving vents,
and I would say, like overheadprints and with late drives is the only
thing that gives it, you know. Yeah, like a last week when
(28:44):
I was doing a overhead present axthe rack, Yeah, as it started
to get heavier, I would shiftto my left side just trying to take
weight off of it. Yeah, just a take weight off of it.
Subconsciously. I didn't want. Iwant to do it, but that's just
how my body's working at the moment. What you're gonna have to as it
(29:06):
gets stronger, you have to reprogramall that what you care you will because
you're already aware of it, whichis going to solve most your issues over
time. Anyway. It's it's thepeople that do that that aren't aware that
they're overloading one side to the otheror don't pay attention to their body as
they're doing that, that it runsinto the issues. Yeah, which is
(29:27):
the truth. I say. WhenI had my leg problem, that's what
ended up happening too, where it'slike a like I couldn't walked for a
month, and then after I startedwalking and start moving, and then like
even trying to get back into justbeing mobile, like everything's oh, I
can't, Like you just don't wantto put any pressure on it because it's
(29:47):
just and it's not you. It'snot that it's painful, it's not that
there's a problem, but it's justlike your body's just like so thrown at
a whack. H m hmm.Yeah, So I I had to go.
I developed a muscle and balance fromhaving the surgery in my abdomen.
(30:07):
So I was twisting when I wasdeadlifting off the ground and stuff like that.
And I had gotten back up tonearly seven hundred pounds, but I
was twisting and it kind of streamedmy back a little bit, and I'm
like, I got to restart over. And I had to restart over with
the squats too, because I wasa lot sided and stuff like that.
And now it's I've kind of straightenedmost of that out. I'm pulling straight
now, so now I just gotto get used to pulling heavy again.
(30:30):
It's gonna take a little while, that's okay. Yeah, Like I had
a you know, in my earlyamateur career, I had back injuries and
you know, on dead lifts andswats, I just had to start from
a plate, you know, justevery week, add a little bit of
weight and just going up and upand down, up and down, retraining,
make sure that you know, leftthe back heel and make sure I'm
(30:53):
doing the correctly. Yep. Yeah, No, it's good stuff, man,
it really is. It's it's I'mjust glad you're on the men and
things are coming back. I can'twait to see you compete at the shot
that's gonna be fun and hopefully getan invite to the Worlds. I can
see you before that. Yeah, that'd be good. Yeah, that would
be great. It really would Likethe events for Brian's competition he put out
(31:18):
this weekend. I'm liking they're gonnabe fun events and you know, really
good uh tests, Well, gothrough, tell me what you think about
him. Well, we got themax deadlift from the ground. It's a
caliber Dela bar cal braided plates andit's gonna he was he made a big
game on no gear, just uhdeliver straps in in the belt, just
(31:42):
like, yeah, that's strong manin my opinion. Correct. Yeah,
what's uch? After that, wegot overhead Medley was he said, axel
and uh axel and a log andyeah, that's gonna be fun to two
of those. I'm they're gonna beheavy. Yeah, the high three load
(32:06):
and move forward. I guess noone. There's also one of the events
is there is a KEG calls forhigh I'm kind of looking forward to that
one too, because and he madehis previous world records at the twenty twenty
(32:28):
one Uh work like it was inthe finals and like I didn't perform as
good as I hoped I did,you know, kind of just screwed up
a little bit. The the kegdidn't go over the bar but passed it
on like one of the like oneof the early attempts. But like if
(32:50):
I made that, I would haveI think I would have had better points
to actually get the third place andstep fourth that year. But yeah,
I'm looking forward to that one. It's gonna be fun. Kick's always an
exciting event. Muh. He alsohas a Max at lis Stone. You
know, he didn't say max,but it's gonna be like a heavy at
(33:14):
list Stone and you can't choose whichweight you want, so I bold him.
Yeah, what's the hype find? You know he didn't say, like,
I only got the information from theYouTube video that the channel, So
if you haven't seen it, folks, go watch it. Okay, it's
(33:35):
nice. You get all the shawstrength brash. Uh. He has a
dumb ball medley that's a gonna becool. You know, I got a
couple of dumbbells. I got onedumb bell from Josh you remember him when
he hired and bought a bunch ofequipment from him. And he has a
(33:59):
it's a is the giants live like, uh, what's uh style is the
concrete globes with the middle cage aroundthem? About that the two hundred pounds
and I'm looking for I haven't gotto use it yet, so I think
I'll throw that into the training forthat company. And you're pretty good that.
(34:22):
You're pretty good at dumbel, soI think you'd be all right,
Yeah, a lot of practice.I wasn't that good at you know,
my amateur career. But now thatI have like equipment to train on,
yeah, it's the difference. Allright, what else, let's see he
(34:43):
he's bringing back the medley from lastyear, the Last of Death the finger
from finger into that was a greatevent. Yeah, yeah, I think
I think that fingle Fingers is goingto revolutionize fingle fingers. Yeah. The
setup you know where it goes intowhere it stands up. Huh. I
(35:06):
think if he fixed it from lastyear, like I think, I know
he'll he'll do to fix it,it'll it'll be fixed. And right knowing
Brian there there, they they nowknow what wasn't quite perfect, it'll be
fixed and it will be perfect becausethe setup for that is so much faster.
(35:27):
No more for clifts, nowhere flippingthe thing back over. It's just
okay, push it back over becausedown it's set. It's ready to go,
freaking awesome re quick setup. Itwas a good idea, just like
probably wasn't it, like Brian toldme and Kevin, Like just like a
bunch of stuff just happened, likewith the equipment making that then was out
(35:52):
of his control that he couldn't.Uh you know that they had last minute
to fix and everything. Yeah, well I mean still they they were under
a lot of pressure, uh toget everything done in time, and they
did, but little things but itstill worked really well. So yes,
(36:13):
that it'll be flawless. Yeah yeah, now that knows what what broke or
whatever. You know, those haffixatedto make it better for next year this
year. Yeah, so what else? Let's see. He was very vague
in this event is like he calledhe called it the Power of Medley.
Is supposed to be a grip movingevent, that's all he said in the
(36:37):
video. But just got to workon my grip. I am working a
lot on my grip to it,you know, doing the extra stuff.
And I think that the time offdid get some good. Like yesterday,
yesterday after some dead lips I didfarmers walked worked worked up to three forty
(37:00):
for forty five feet. It's nottoo bad, not bad, not too
bad, you know, coming off, you know, not caring anything,
right, It's a good start. The heavy as yolk walking I've done yet
it is a little like over sixhundred, like six poin fifty I think.
Yeah, but it's gonna be alittle lobby before you can drive with
(37:21):
those, So it's okay. Sojust going walking with them is good.
You still get to build the corstability. Yeah, that's the that's the goal
right now. It's just getting usedto having some weight, you know,
not trying to run with it,move quickly perfect. Yeah, let's see,
I'm trying to think of all theevents. Yeah, he has so
(37:45):
many, he has eight events andyeah, I was trying to look it
up. But even in the video, does he do in the arm over
arm He didn't say, like inthe past, is that power met has
been either samdbag will barrow our frameinto the arm over arm pool that I
(38:09):
think he's thinking of getting a ridof it. Like this is all speculation,
you know, since he's so likehe's so secret. Yeah, he
likes to keep it a surprise foreveryone. But it's not the arm over
arm pool like, since he's gettingrid of the sand bag toss and replacing
(38:31):
that with the macim type keg tossand the different, different backdrop in instead
of that uh yeah, that bighe had. Okay, uh yeah,
it's gonna be fun. I can'twait to see it. It's gonna be
a blast. I'm really excited.I'm going through the video trying to see
(38:55):
if I can see what he sayson the on there about the other event
and then here for the Giants Live. That's gonna be really freaking cool too.
That's gonna be cool. But whatis it? Is the Deadlift World
Championships. Yeah, yeah, yes, so this is gonna be that's my
(39:19):
first. I think I was invitedlast year, but it was it was
after the show last year. Iwas just so wrecked, Like guys,
I had to turn it down.I couldn't have done a good show for
you. So yeah, so Ihad to pull out that one just because
it last year. Shall Now here'sa question because you know they're going to
(39:43):
allow deadlift suits and all the crazystuff for that one, because they're gonna
try to break five oh five onthe kilos, I know, but they're
still gonna try to break it.So they're gonna allow suits and stuff.
How are you going to go fromthe shah h training in no suit and
pulling from the floor to what isit about four or five weeks difference and
(40:07):
pulling out the World Deadlife Championships.Oh, I don't believe in what I
believes in suits and strong man,Well off your shirt. Last year,
everyone else in the deadlift was atthe World's at Worlds for more suit.
(40:28):
I ripped, you know, rippedmy shirt off. Yeah that was cool.
Yeah, I liked it. Ithought it was cool. Thank you.
But uh, I don't think forfour to five weeks would be enough
to train in a you know,in a suit to make you more fit
(40:50):
persistent in it. But uh yeahI might. I might throw on some
briefs. That's what I was gonnasay. You'd probably be better off just
pop on some briefs and then becauseit won't change your technique as much.
It'll change the way you pull intothe bar a little bit, but it
won't put so much pressure on youron your upper body and bend you over
(41:15):
more. And it takes a bitto get used to just the bottoms,
though, I think you'd be Ithink you'd be okay pulling on that for
probably get in that amount of time, you probably get two good dead list
sessions in we can really go heavyand maybe two light ones, and we
can put it on and just getused to moving it where you could probably
(41:36):
get after it pretty good. Yeah, you know, yeah, as all
as they would will probably be justyou know, be the main goal the
strongest Man on Earth. Yeah,of course it ye main goal. But
he's opening up the competition with theMax Stead Live. So it's basically you
know, train for that, youknow, is the main goal, and
(41:59):
just you know practice. Was thebriefs for the for the Giants Live World
World Deadly see how Yeah see howit does. But yeah, not much
would change, you know, maybeadded a few more pounds, was the
was there? Probably like thirty orforty pretty comfortably? Yeah, makes sense?
(42:25):
Well right on, I like it. That's that's my year. Yeah,
what else you got going on?You're building a building, building a
gym, a home gym, gonnarivals. Yeah, I don't think I'll
(42:45):
get as much stuff as him.Yeah, yeah, just like some just
the essentials, but like like, okay, so Monday I picked up a
power runner in a Nordic Lakes youknow s all that get the yeah.
And then and uh, Saturday Ipicked up like it was last minute,
(43:09):
so like I picked up a freemotion dual cable machine and like he posted
it. The guy posted it atThursday and just like gave it a few
minutes of thought and it's like, all right, I'm not letting this pass
up and smart that's just you know. And but uh that I bought a
(43:30):
before that, I had a week, I told him, like the previous
week I like kind of pick itup. The next Saturday was a power
lift leg press, you know, and just like the guy says it's like
the best leg press in the world, and like I gave it a little
go before we broke it down toget it out his door. Like there's
(43:52):
eleven hundred pound machine. Wow,and like this is the you know,
yeah, Saturday was the you know, two days after Brian announced the events
for the it's like no leg press. It's like, well, well next
(44:12):
time, Oh my gosh, that'sfunny. There's no car car Lake Press
this year. And you put thechess press there's bench. No, there's
no chess press either. The well, I think I heard him mention that
there was in the video. Iwas reading the transcript. It says a
new squatting device. Oh, yes, yes, squats. Yeah we're doing
(44:37):
squats really yeah, I like squats. So he says a brand new like
you know, so I'm assuming somekind of mechanical monstrosity for squats, So
like definitely gonna be watching out tosee what that might look like. Yeah,
(44:58):
I'm gonna see like the keg loadingdevice style for the squads. That
would be amazing. What if hejust did the car squat just like,
well we did that in a Yeah, I think the keg loading thing would
be the bomb. I really dothat would that would be pretty badass the
(45:20):
way it's going. But he'll figureout something, because he's he comes up
with something all the time. Butthere's so many neat things rattle around in
his head that when he turns thenew events, it's just amazing. It
really is. So it's it's kindof like, yeah, you just wait
to see what he comes up withnext, and then the cool part is
(45:40):
I'll get to go test it.Hopefully it always comes with something new that's
is fun for the audience and thecompetitors try out exactly. I mean,
it's still a spectacle sport. It'sstill you go to see things that are
just you, You're not just notgoing to see every day. And a
(46:01):
lot of the events he's coming upwith are events that are like that.
So it's it's really cool. Ilike it. I like what was thinking
behind a lot of these things. It's absolutely amazing. So all right,
well cool man, all right, you'd like where can people find you besides
(46:22):
Zirk Lifter? Where else? Lifteron the Instagram, Trey Mitchell, Trey
big Thicket, Mitchell on YouTube upload. Every once in a while, we
need to talking about more. Ineed I need a I need a camera
man like Ben, you want toDick's already trying to get me to move
(46:44):
to Yeah, that didn't work outso well, but he's really good when
you send that footage that like, are you gonna be at the Arnold this
year? Unfortunately you can't make itthis year, but I said I was
going to be there to just bea influencer. Sure, sure, that's
(47:07):
cool. I would like to go, but there's some things going on here
that I got to finish up beforeI go do some stuff. So I'm
good to go, but I can'tso yeah, all right, but uh
yeah, that's a Instagram in theYouTube, is mine? I mean if
