From the Studio two A in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is the Big Bucks
Podcast, presented by Game Show battleRooms. Look online at gameshow battle Rooms
dot com Game Show battle Rooms whereyou're in the game show and now here's
your host, Jake and I'm wonderful. Thank you to Ricky G. Welcome
(00:50):
to the Big Bucks Podcast. Iam JK. I'm not really certain how
to open this one because this isgoing to be our final episode, not
necessarily forever, but I'm going tocall it the season finale, if you
will, and I will explain afew things to you. Obviously, it's
(01:18):
been a bit and over the lastcouple of months, shows have been very
sporadic at best, and that isputting it lightly. I don't know.
I'm not I'm not feeling it.I'm not my heart is not there.
And I want to start by sayingI love game shows and it's a weird
(01:42):
genre. I've always thought it's aweird thing for someone to like, and
I think societally it is not fullynecessarily accepted as a quote normal thing.
Game shows are that thing you watchin the background. Game shows are that
(02:02):
thing you watch for fun occasionally. It's not something that is water cooler discussion.
It's not something you just like,Hey, did you see that episode
of The Prices right the other day, Let's dissect that. Hey, you
want to talk tik tak dough fromthe eighties? No, I do.
(02:30):
And that's why I started this podcast, because there aren't a lot of podcasts
dedicated to game shows. But doingit solo and the amount of work and
effort and time put into this Ihave found that is it's not It's not
(02:53):
enjoyable to the extent that I wouldlike it to be. So I'm going
to be stepping away from this forthe foreseeable future, and if that means
forever, then that's what it means. But I would love to have it
revamped in a few months or so. The idea for it, the logo
(03:19):
for it. It was just overa year ago that it came to fruition
and that I would be dedicated todoing this. And I gotta say I
enjoy talking I do. I justenjoy talking game shows. I would say
I have hobbies slash passions in mylife, and there's three of them,
(03:46):
and in order they are sports, video games, and game shows. And
sports and video games probably take asignificantly higher priority. But the thing about
game shows is I'm very knowledgeable, like obscurely knowledgeable. When you when you
(04:08):
talk about people on the Internet thatare the biggest geeks and nerds when it
comes to game shows, I wouldconsider myself not necessarily in the upper echelon,
but maybe a step down from that. You know, I don't have
all the prices on the Price isRight memorized over a twenty year span.
(04:30):
You know I'm not. You know, I don't know the background of every
single dealer, no deal model.I couldn't tell you the life biography of
Dick Clark, but I can tellyou that I love talking about game shows
(04:54):
and I love just striking up conversationswith people who do. And if you
are a podcaster for a game showand would love to have me on as
a guest, I am down onehundred percent, one hundred percent hit me
(05:15):
up. Email JK Says Radio atgmail dot com. JK Says Radio at
gmail dot com. You can findme on Twitter now X whatever the hell
is going on there at Big BucksPodcast send me a message. Seriously,
I am down, and I wouldbe much more inclined to continue this show
(05:43):
in the future if I had help, if I had a partner who was
willing to put in that time todo this every week or every other week,
because honestly, I've got all I'vejust got a lot going on,
and it is I shouldn't have todread putting in the time to do this,
(06:09):
and that's that's where I'm at,and no one should. This should
be for fun and if you're notenjoying yourself, you shouldn't be doing it.
Find yourself something that is more enjoyable. And my brother and I have
thrown an idea around about a podcastaround old video games, and that is
something that I'm going to pursue aswell. And you know what, I
(06:30):
will make mention of that on socialmedia. So stay with me here.
And again I'm not saying this isthe end. I'm not saying goodbye.
I'm saying see you later. Verycliche, I know. So this is
gonna be a short show and it'sgonna end in a few minutes from now,
but I just I just want tosay that. Well, honestly,
(06:58):
I want to give some thank youfirst off to one of my or who
I consider a great friend and shehas I've got to know her through work
over the past. She moved awaylast year but was gracious enough to help
me out with this podcast. Rickyg Our announcer. She has been on
the show I think two or threetimes. Ricky, thank you so much
(07:25):
for all of this. It meansthe world to me. It may not
seem like it, but it does. And you have a magnificent talent and
a magnificent voice, and it ismuch appreciated. Like truly, thank you
(07:46):
to my brother Joe who created theBig Bucks podcast logo. It is awesome.
I love it. Thank you.You can find him at McCready gaming
on X. I want to thankDavid Sour, the owner of Game Show
(08:07):
battle Rooms are a big sponsor formultiple reasons. David has employed me at
Game Show battle Rooms for over forfive years now. It seems like a
lifetime, but I love it.I serious. I host game shows.
That's like, that's that's my jobat Game Show battle I host game shows
(08:31):
for people. It is one ofthe things that I've wanted to do since
I was a child, Like whohosts game shows? Like, that's crazy
to me. That's crazy to methat I have. I don't want to
say living the dream because obviously thisisn't on television, this isn't what that
(08:54):
is. But that's literally what Ido for work. That's amazing. I
have so much fun from that. And again I want to thank David Sower
because he helped sponsor this show.He produced. He sent me some money
(09:15):
to get this thing going and tofund this entire project. So thank you
for that. Seriously, that's awesome. And if you want to come see
me sometime at our Minneapolis location,Game Show battle Rooms, go to Game
showbattlerooms dot com. I think lasttime I did the show there were seven
(09:35):
locations. That's gonna be bumped upto like eleven by the end of the
year. Cincinnati, Welcome Aboard.Like that's crazy, absolutely crazy to me.
How many locations have popped up,Like Holy Cow, Denver, St.
(09:58):
Louis, Chica, I Welcome Aboard. Unbelievable. I started at the
location in Minneapolis, the only onewho would have known five years frow that's
become a franchise. Wow, absolutelycrazy to me. Check them out.
(10:18):
Game Show battle rooms dot com.Come play some game shows with me or
anyone or one of our dozens ofdedicated hosts that try to make the experience
the best that it can for peoplejust seeking out the thrill of being on
a game show. Finally, Iwant to thank everyone that has listened and
(10:39):
downloaded with any regularity. I apologizefor the sporadic nature that this show has
been. What a ride though itwas fun? Is it hundreds of episodes
like others? No? Do Ihave the listener base of other podcasts,
but no. But I hope goingforward we're able to do this in some
(11:07):
capacity because it's a genre I willnever not be in love with. Like,
how can you not if you're afan of game shows at all?
How can you not love the currentsituation. I'm still a little depressed about
Holy Bully because I've never heard anythingabout about the status of season five,
(11:30):
Like they didn't even say if it'scanceled. They just like they're ignoring the
fact that it was there, whichis disappointing. But everything else, my
goodness. There is a plethora ofgame shows available, so again find podcasts
(11:52):
that are in the game show field. There's a great podcast called tell Us
about Yourself. Christian Carrion of BuzzerBlog, one of the biggest websites for
game shows. He does a podcastcalled tell us about yourself. Love it.
He basically talks to former game showcontestants. It just interviews them,
(12:16):
and there's some bigs, some bignames that have come on there. It
is awesome, great podcast. Ihighly encourage you to check it out.
But if the thing is, therearen't a lot of game show podcasts,
and I feel bad that this won'tproceed with any normality over the rest of
twenty twenty three. But it's somethingI gotta do. It's something I need
(12:41):
to take a break from. Sothat's that, folks. Thank you so
much. Like seriously, it meansthe world to me that I look at
the numbers of people that have downloadedand it's more than zero. Like wow,
Like seriously, anyone's taking the opportunityor the time to do that,
(13:05):
that's awesome. Thank you so much. I want to think any of my
guests that have been on, notablyBrandon Moleski of kfa N that was awesome,
who runs program password. I've triedto get others. Not all have
worked out. I've talked to others. I apologize that that might not be
(13:28):
a thing going forward. But seriously, if you ever feel the need or
knack or want to just talk gameshows online. I'm around, hit me
up at Big Bucks Podcast or emailthe show again, JK says radio at
(13:50):
gmail dot com. Well, thereyou go. That is it. That's
a rap on the Big Bucks Podcast. Thank you so much for tuning in.
The shows will definitely be up fora little bit so I feel free
to go back in the past anddownload. And yeah, that's that again.
This is not necessarily goodbye. It'sa see you later and that's what
(14:13):
we're gonna do. Thank you somuch, everybody. We will see you
in the future at some point insome form. I'm JK. Thanks again.
