Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jem Hey, what's up? What's up? Sports fan?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Welcome back to the Big Island sports talk show. I
am me brother No and my math my co host
Matthew Parker. How's it going, my man?
Speaker 3 (00:32):
What's going on?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
I'm good? How you going?
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Hey? We got so much going on in the world
of sports, man, I'm overwhelmed. I thought I was overwhelmed
when it came to the Olympics, but this is something different, man,
And this is uh, this is this is what we
love to do it. I'm just glad I got somebody
to talk sports to it. Man.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
There's a lot of sports, a lot of preseason.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Well, I'm loving it. I'm loving what I'm seeing so far,
and I know it's on the agenda today. So we
got some NFL preseason for you.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
What else?
Speaker 3 (01:00):
We got some.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
MLBS and.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Close playball, all right, I'm looking forward to that. Well,
let's start with the NFL preseason. Man, what's on your mind?
What you been watching? Because I've been.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Watching.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Well, I'm gonna say, you know, I got some good
news today from Adam Schefter. He said bo Nicks and
named the starter. Now, I was last time saying, you know,
I'm excited about it, and I know it's look, you
can only take a little bit from the preseason, but
what I saw, I appreciate it. And even if and
I know this is the case because you got people
listening to you didn't even know these scheme up the blaze, Like,
(01:46):
that's fine. I don't care if it's a script for
the first fifteen to twenty thirty players of the game.
The man is still out there being able to put
on the performance and move the ball. We haven't seen.
We've been the donkeys stuck in the mud recently. So
it's nice to see us get up and down the field.
And yes, I have to make a chance to make
the team.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
I like.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
We was talking about what in episode two or three,
all the draft was. We just was entering the draft
as our first podcast, and we asked the draft, the
first pick of the draft, and we was talking about
Bonick's going through the Broncos. Yeah, and I like what
I see. He's he's doing the right decisions, he's not
forcing it, he's hitting his dump off, his main targets,
(02:28):
tight ends, running backs.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I like what I see.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
I like it because he's given his guys a chance
to make a big play yards after the catch the
yak yards right like for us, especially with fantasy football
the season we're in, that's a difference, right, that's six
point eight points that that you know, flex gets you
right there because he actually made somebody missing, was set
up by his quarterback versus Yes, you know, it could
(02:53):
have been I had Zach Wilson as my starter this
year and it would have been like, oh my goodness,
missed again at twelve. It could have been the situation.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah, it could have been worse, could have been worse.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
And it still could be that situation. But all I'm
saying is I am glad that I see what I see.
I've seen y so far. And look, you know what,
I'm very critical. I have been very critical of Sean Payton.
I do believe this is a proven year. I mean,
it wasn't not three one hundred and sixty five days
ago that the Miami Dolphins came to town and put
(03:25):
seventy on our head, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Yeah? Right, right, oh lord seventy.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
So you don't just forget something like that. And I'm
not going to get on this mic and say all
is forgiven because our first round quarterback is you know,
doing this thing in the preseason. I want to see complete.
I want to see him set this quarterback up for success.
If this is the guy that's going to basically save
his legacy, because what do we know about Sean Payton.
(03:50):
Yeah he's a super Bowl winning coach, but the same
year what happened, he was doing bountygate.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Right right right? I remember that.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, so let's let's not forget who he is. And look,
I'm optimistic because our situation is looking up. I honestly say,
how well we played the Chiefs. We beat them that
second time we played them first time since twenty fifteen.
I believe we're going to get Chiefs and Broncos. They're
going to be the games you want to watch nowadays
because I think we finally got someone level headed. That
(04:21):
quarterback still has enough athleticism, still grainy, right, and you have,
you know, a little bit jittery, but I'd much rather
have more awareness and be jittery and getting rid of
the ball quick than taking sacks. And that's what was happening,
yes right away.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
If nothing thereay live to the next down, you know,
and you know the perfect quarter rookie quarterback is his
best friend is the running back. So Savanti Williams he
can get Snagaman maybe the sixth, seventh round.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
There'll be on good value for you.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
And plus I think he's gonna get a lot of
touches with this rookie quarterback. I don't think Pete's gonna
give the keys to the Ferrari just yet.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
You know.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Well, like in a way, maybe the Washington Commanders are
giving it to Jaden Daniels, who is the number two
overall pick. Right, he's also named the starter, And yes,
I'm seeing a lot. I'm seeing a lot of liking
this kid. Honestly, this is history repeating itself where they
get their Robert Griffin, the third Heisman winning quarterback, I honestly,
(05:21):
And we talked about it last time on this podcast
when we were talking about the AFC East UH and
the NFC East and you you agreed with me saying
Washington will probably finished second in that division behind Philly
and we will see. Man, I'm stoked. What do you
think out of jayde and Daniels quarterback for the Washington Commanders.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Well, I think there's a lot of talent over there. Brian,
Brian Robinson, don't forget they always get much his name, the.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Receiver Scry Terry Terry. Yeah, yes, I think that this.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Is a quarterback away of containing for the playoffs or I
mean trying to make a deep push for the playoffs
like a wild card. I can see that happening because
I think Janey Daniels is gonna surprise the guys.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
I think so, like in the way we saw with CJ.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Stroud last year.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yes, yes, yes, look how he handled that that rook
yere Oh man, it was crazy.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
It was like ninety day young Stroud. But now we
know which is the real answer, Neil Stroud.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
No, And and yeah, we'll see where Carolina can put
around Bryce Young this year. But I do think, you know,
maybe he has that potential he was I mean his
senior year, it's like forty touchdowns and five picks, right,
That's why he was. That's why he was the Heisman
Trophy winner. And I think that if you're Washington, you
(06:46):
gotta feel good because I was listening to Fox Sports
Radio and they were reminiscing on what a proud franchise
that Washington or that then the Redskins used to be.
You know, I don't condone that name. It is the
Commanders will the Washington football team. I'm just glad it's
not that anyway. But you know, but they were talking
(07:08):
about season tickets were you know, lined up years and
years back, like you had to get on the waiting list.
You were hoping to get it. And you know, what
we've known in my lifetime is basically just mediocre football.
So maybe this is a brand new owner. I saw
it with my Phoenix Suns with matt Ishpio and he
came in and started spending a bunch of money. Now
you see, okay, franchise quarterback drafting the first round, brand
(07:32):
new owner. Let's see what we could do to change
the culture around here, because it was rated arguably one
of the worst football cultures in locker rooms around and
that's a shame.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Oh lord, yes, yes, yes, you know that matters.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
If you have a toxic workplace. You could love exactly
what you do and be good at it and great
at it and get admiration from your clients and all that,
but at the end of the day, you have a
toxic workplace that doesn't appreciate you, underpays you, burns people
out and all of that. And I'm just like, you know,
talking about my real life or anyway. But uh no,
(08:13):
look I'm excited and I'm glad you are too. The
one we haven't hit yet we talked about bone Nicks
that we talked about. Jennon Daniels is the big one.
A lot of people are talking about the one most
people are really impressed with, which is Caleb Williamson, the
number one overall pick.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Tell me what he did good the second game.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
The first game was good too. He made a nice
drive the first time he was the first series, I
think was did did good on the second game. He
put up some numbers. I like what I'm seeing Chicago.
Like I said, they have a lot of weapons there.
So a running game, good receivers, good tight end. I
(08:51):
think they're gonna might be the Rookie of the year
right there.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Wow, just jump the other two completely. Huh. But let
me ask you this. The Bears, when you think they're
going to the playoffs, but you said they're going to
a Rookie of the years, which you said, that means
they're going.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Right right right, they'gna suppressed.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Well, that division itself, it's stocked from from head to
to all of two Minnesota. That's what I was, I
think this division is going to be a toss up.
Whoever gets win wins this division. They're gonna be in
the playoffs, and maybe second might even be in the
playoffs in the wild card.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Maybe, but you think those could be one of those
situations where they cannibalize each other and like they keep
beating up on each other in division play and kind
of allowing other teams to come up. So maybe only
one team gets out of that division. Obviously, Honestly, if
I'm you know, optimistic, I'm looking at the Lions, I'm thinking,
you know, I'm on Saint Brown. I'm thinking, you know,
(09:51):
hopefully Jared Goff, who has gone to a super Bowl
with the Rams. But no, no, look, look, Bears, you
talk about weapons, because we were talking about the Commanders
and we were like, oh, they got scary Terry and
who else? Right, but the big Theirs is loaded, and
we I'm hoping in terms of fantasy, like some teams,
(10:14):
you kind of want to stay away, Like Christian Kirk
has already hurt with the Jaguars, so I'm like kind
of fade them because I couldn't really believe in his production.
When the Calvin Ridley was there last year anyway, but
now I'm not theirs, and I'm like, well, if I
get Keenan Allen and I get you know, as a
possession receiver, and I can get you know, the rookie
(10:35):
o'doon saying like maybe he's he's my big play, he's
my say Flowers of this year. Maybe. Yeah, I'm thinking, honestly,
it's probably gonna be the worthy hit. The Kansas City
picked up zager Worthy, They're gonna use him. Andy Reid's
gonna say, we got this speed, let's use him around
the edge, not so much in like a Tyree fashion,
because there's really no way to.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Try to replicate that's different.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Speed doesn't just do that. But I think, like, if
you want to get one of those questionable flex players,
that's who I'm looking at as like a Xavier Worthy
kind of guy. Takes some pressure off of agent Kelsey
and yeah, you know off drops that they had last
last last year.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
So yeah, Kansas City, you got burners out there. You
think two of them is speedy receivers and my owns
do have an arm. So then then where that's where
Kelsey come and eat? Taking all the under dump dump
the dump offs and there's gonna be a good fantasy
(11:35):
players on on kandas City Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
I think, wordy, you drafted already, Yes, you had some.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Uh you surprised me when you said I had a
lot of a lot of Cardinals on your team. Right there?
Speaker 1 (11:48):
I did, I did.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
Yeah, James Connor, I think is I don't even know
if he's still there running back. It's been so long
I play, I play Old Maddens, so I'm like still
on Madden where Patrick maho Homes and Tom Brady are
sharing the same cover. So I don't think that that
you got to go buy what what's all the roster
for me? But anyway, but yeah, I look, man, I'm
(12:13):
excited we finally got my commissioner finally sent the message saying,
you know, let's run this back, Let's do it. I'm
excited for the one league that I'm going to be in.
And I just just a question. I just want to
give some expertise and maybe you can let me know.
I'm thinking about going wide receiver wide receiver instead of
running back wide receiver, do you know what I mean?
(12:33):
Like the game is changing, it's more pass heavy. Should
is my advantage to get some of these high volume guys,
like you said, you gotta Puka Nakua, who's averaging a
sixteenth average pick for most leagues that I've drafted right now,
So that basically means second round, but going rather quick,
depending if you're in a ten or twelve person league. Yeah,
(12:55):
so what do you think, wide receiver, water receiver? Should
I go? Running back? Wide receiver?
Speaker 1 (12:59):
I know you can.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
On my last draft that I did, I went to
go two receivers because all the good running backs was
gone majority of them. You got your j Robinson, Gibbs,
you got your McCaffrey's, and a couple of receivers was there,
like Jeffers was gone. Hill was gone, Yeah, Saint Brown
(13:23):
was gone.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Who else went? Hall?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Bris saw he was second on the running backs that
went early? I mean yeah early in the draft.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Jeffrey in your league, then Brice Hall, then what bjon Robinson,
and then Stead at the back you just mentioned. But
I guess that is for right there, you're right, that's
you know, yeah, Okay, I guess there is.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
But I went early because I had the the ten picks,
so I went receiver receiver, and then I came back
with Jonathan Taylor grab Marvin Harrison Jr. In the uh
Fort corner in the fifth, McBrien the six, I got
no J Harris in the seventh.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Was he really the best tight end that was available?
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Yes, the all the top three win Kittles.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Kelsey Wether drafted Kittles. They're going to be disappointed. He's
been falling off recently. By golly, he's a weasel, and
Kelsey's not gonna have production until end of the season.
He doesn't even run routes anymore. I'm just preticting. See,
that's the thing where I'm saying, you could fade a
tight end like a Mark Andrews, who obviously was involved
in that car accident. Apparently they're holding him out of practice,
(14:39):
but he is okay. But I'm thinking, like tight ending
position is something you can kind of fade. This year
you could take a risk on, like the Raiders getting.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Bauer.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Yeah, did he go somebody somebody jumped on him.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yes, he went thirteen actually in the thirteenth.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Round thirteen, so he went late.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Then he's yeah, this was fifteen round drafts, so he
went late.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Okay, so him someone like Sam Laporta and Kid, but
even Kin, Kid with Buffalo, but they had Dawson Knox too,
So you're telling them you got two good tight ends.
Like it reminds me of like Dallas with Jake Ferguson
and uh the other one that they didn't pay show.
Yeah you're changeable. Yeah, they're both good. But again, tight
(15:28):
end is a position that look at Kelsey in the
back of the day, look at Kittle four years ago,
not Kittle less. Yes, and I had them on the
fantasy team. I know he was underperforming because Rock Party
was either thrown it to Brandon Ayuk who still is
unhappy and not reported. Yes, but uh, I don't know,
so let me just ask because I just brought him up. Uh.
The Niners Rock Party did not look good without the
(15:49):
starters around him, as.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
You know that, especially that left tackle. He didn't look
good that left tackle. Missy.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
It's like a big gap right there. They're just so
putting pressure on because they know they week there. They
got their second stringer and he didn't look too good.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Yeah, and it made Trent Williams look good because he's
probably watching that saying.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Show show me the money.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
When it goes in there. But it was no exactly
show me the money is what he should be saying.
And this is similar to Chris Jones buying a ticket
to the Chiefs game last year is a defensive and
watching them get no pressure and get run up on.
I think by the Lions. The Lions played them really
well last year. Yes, but but but again, brock Party
(16:36):
did not look, you know, like that Pro Bowl type player.
When he didn't have a Brandon Ayuk, when he didn't
have a Deebo Samuels win Jewish Ki Doo.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
He's too good.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
I know I'm gonna get some pushback on that because
people love kittle Man, and I'm just look all the
last thing I see of kittle he was over here
talking about I'm gonna get back to the super Bowl
and then had like two catches and I was just like,
you suck, yeah, yeah, exactly. I'm not even sure what
(17:06):
was going on. But but but look, man, football is here.
And I knew when we started this podcast this is
our twentieth episode. I'm stoked, like I've been still having
a lot of fun with this, but I knew that
we just had to get through that offseason and and
we would, we would. This is gonna be a lot
of fun for us because there's a lot talking about
(17:28):
fantasy team. You wear that RAMS hat. Obviously, I'm dedicated
to my Broncos and you know, very optimistic about that,
so you know, we will see what's gonna happen. But
I I'm just stoked to be talking about it with you.
Mo Man.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Yeah, I'm stuked too. I can talk about of fantasy
house schedules been doing, who has the toughest schedules. The
upcoming I think was Chiefs and raven is going to
be doing the opening night, Yeah, on Thursday. So that's
that's gonna be exciting. Yeah, I'm excited. I'm so excited.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Let me ask you this, okay, because we know how
the Chiefs and the Ravens played in the AFC Championship
Game last year, and we saw how the Ravens were
able to run the ball up and down the field
on everybody else except for the Chiefs, where they didn't
even really attempt it. So if they come back stick
to their game plan now with a new loaded backfield
(18:24):
with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry back there, Let's say
they blow out the Chiefs the first game of the season.
Is it a big deal or no? Deal for the
Kansas City Chiefs in repeating.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
I don't think it's a big deal, but just the
beginning of the season, that's all. This started last year
an opening night they lost to Detroit. Yeah, and to
look and everybody thought there wasn't good doing good. After
the first three four weeks, we thought Dan wasn't going
to make the playoffs. But that choose to show you
that don't count of Mahomes. He's just too good to
(19:02):
be calling out.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
He's way too good, and I hate it. Yeah, he's
right there in my division, but he does he makes
it look easy. I mean, we we it's some people
thought it was a big deal. Some some people weren't
really impressed. But the man attempted it behind the back
pass and completed it and.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
I left pass left handed in the game.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Yeah, And I just think it's maybe the game is
just so boring. He just has to do stuff like that,
and it shows Andy Reid really letting his guys just
be loose and enjoy it, you know. So Yeah, I
think I think that's good. And like what, I like
sports history. I talk about it almost every episode we
have here, and I would love to see the first
Super Bowl team three P since the mid sixties, right
(19:45):
when the Packers did it. That would be something.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
But I'd be.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Okay if anybody else, well not anybody San Francisco Shanahan
can't do nothing. Oh lord, Uh, I don't think they
have a chance. I think their window is closed. I
think Buffalo's windows closed. So count those teams out. Uh.
Like I said, it is the Ravens. I expected them
(20:10):
to do well.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
Here it's just mahomes Man. He's got that dog in him.
He got that like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant kind of
I ain't gonna I ain't laying down. I'm just gonna
fight all the way to a win. I don't care
what what it thinks. He got that churry in him.
You know, I like the balls on this guy.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Well, let's see how much it is when they hit
the grid iron this year, because you know, it's always
a little different. We got a brand new kickoff, we
got I mean, there's there's just a lot to be
excited about. And I am stoked. But fuss let's uh,
let's take a quick commercial break and when we come back,
we got to talk some baseball. It's been a lot
of since while since we've done that, So let's let's
(20:50):
quick take a quick commercial break, and then we're gonna
talk some baseball. Hey, folks, has it been a while
since your last eye exam?
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Are you squinting and straining your way through the work
week or during your weekly commute? But who has time
for an eye exam?
Speaker 2 (21:10):
My eyes?
Speaker 3 (21:12):
And eye exams can be so invasive? Hey yo, back up, son,
I don't know you like that.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
Well, enough is enough introducing I see you a brand
new way to examine your eyes, so not to invade
your space, we take the mind out of myopia and
instead replace it with a U so that your present
press popia is a thing of the past.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
You see what I did there.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Our trained specialists introduce a one of a kind optical
profile for each patient and lets the patient choose which
type of testing that they want done. That way, we
get what we want and the rest we just guess
it's totally legit. But don't take my word for it.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
He yo, it's your boy.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Wheezy h.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
You know it's me because you're at that ladder flip.
I see you as legit. You know I'm a spit,
I'm free staff flowing without a high hot and a kit. Yeah,
it's once a year for your vision check check it out.
I see you not responsible for the previous infermission pertaining
to the general over our health of your eyes. I
see you as a make believe offballic solution that contains
an legitimate medical approofd certifications of any kind, noords and
(22:20):
alternative to skippy on on your annual exam. We're also
not legally obligated to tell you that that was not
weazy f baby aka two g.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
G oh baby. That was good. All right.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Welcome to the Big Island sports talk show. Matt Parker
here your host with brother Noel. Welcome back. That is, uh,
just some foolishness I put together. You're gonna have to
ignore that. I don't know if anybody. I haven't gotten
any any bad messages about it. You know, I've been
having fun with those silly commercials throw on them in there,
pet Conda, and I'm like, look, I why not? All right,
(22:51):
maybe somebody will listen to us and pay me on
the side so we can show us the money.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Show us the money, please?
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Uh, brother no you said there's a there's a lot
going on in the NL West. Yes, but it's going
on with your Dodgers. Congratulations, you got Mookie best back
and what he's baby, that's a home run the first
game he comes back, and uh, you know, Freddie Freeman
with a little broken finger but still doing his thing
in the lineup, Like, what's talk to us about the
(23:22):
l A Dodgers and where what your expectations are.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
I'm just hoping we can take the West and hopefully
run run through the the NL and get that World Series.
Everybody's getting healthy, I think months. He came back two
games straight at a home run. Otani's doing his thing.
Yamamoto should be back pretty soon. So we got another
pictures back with Kershaw. So I'm a stoke about that.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
And finally there are.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Teams getting back healthy for a perfect time for the stretch,
run through the playoffs, and I hope we get the
West now.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
But you you have a history your team wins the West.
You know, Dave Roberts has no problem gaining that the
you know West titles like, I mean, I don't think
you guys won like five, six, eight straight something like that.
I don't know the exact number, but are you concerned
about your rival? The San Diego Padres who are actually
getting hot themselves. I mean a little bit of injury
(24:14):
bugs coming in, you know, But like that, you said,
that's for every other, every team that's in the major
leagues this type, this time of year. But you can't
count them out. Those guys play you guys really well
the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Some solid they got our number. You know, they go
on every series in the whole the whole year against us,
and they're they're they're tough, they can hit, they get pictures,
good defense, and don't forget Arizona two's just right behind us,
get like two three games in the back of us.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
So yeah, it's getting tight in the NS.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Well in the Diamondbacks too. They're just they are an
exciting team to watch. Baseball I think has benefited for
sure with the pace of play and introduction of the pitch.
But the Diamondbacks are just a team. You said, good defense,
ball flying off of the bat. You never know who's
gonna be hot in that night. And I mean, I
(25:10):
think it's good for baseball to have such tight divisions
coming down because for me, if if you're going to
the postseason, you're going to play these series, which I
think what the first series or the playing series is
what two games, three game series, not a five game,
seven game series. Yeah, yeah, so in forgive me. I'm
(25:33):
not entirely because baseball has been changing a lot of
roles to try to stay relevant recently. But I'm excited
when I see a team like the Diamondbacks that are
in contention whether or not they make a late season run,
I like to see it. I like to see anybody
but the Houston Astros up there, them cheaters get them out.
By golly, he's a weasel. I think they should have
(25:55):
had their title vacated, but Baseball will never do that
because their union is too strong. But I'm excited to
see how this plays out, specifically if getting Kershaw some help,
getting some pitching back for the Dodgers to see if
they can because that's where they're lacking. They need that.
But when you see one goes down to so now
(26:17):
show Hay is still leading off and Mookie goes down,
he strikes out because you know he's trying to hit
one four hundred and fifty feet. You know, Mookie is
trying to make up for lost grounds. Or he goes
down and all of a sudden, you get into it. Like, oh, shoot,
we didn't score any runs in the first and now
our pitching is inadequate. And we know that again we
talked about it the first time since you know twenties
(26:37):
that you give up three five nothing leads five runs period.
You know in the back of your mind that can
happen if your bats go quiet.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
So you know this.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
For me, this is exciting and this takes the big money.
One person I'm really excited to see late in the
postseason is Aaron Judge.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Man.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
I mean, you think about forty five home runs and
I mean just just a prolific hitter. You see that
big ninety nine come up there. It's just just a
huge specimen of a man swinging.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Them, just consistency coming up to bad And I like.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
It because he faced adversity. He was slumping last year
before he went on that big old run that he had,
and he was bad in like one p. Fifty seven.
You know, home runs would come every so often, but
he was getting booed in Yankee Stadium, and he didn't
let the pressures in New York crush him. He stepped
up to the play, literally knocked it out of the park.
And that's that's I'm excited. I mean, the Yankees are
(27:36):
in it, Dodgers. It'd be nice to see both of
those teams in the for the Pennant, right.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Yeah, don't forget.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Baltimore's right there too, behind the New York Yankees. I
think there seventy four and seventy four.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
It is tired right now.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Cleveland is another seventy three win team. Houston they probably
might win that division. Yeah, it's gonna look like a nice,
nice run to the playoffs right now.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Then, all right, so, I mean you're gonna buy your
tickets and it's on your bucket list. You're gonna get
out there if the Dodgers because you know those windows
coming and go so that I don't and go. And
obviously your son's going back to Milwaukee about to go
see Yana's play again, even though I think he's wasting
his money because Milwaukee ain't got nob out there. He's like,
(28:26):
look at me, I was a world champion in twenty
twenty one against my sons, and then you know, look
at me, I'm a World Olympic champion. Here animal world
champion with the Celtics. Giannis is complaining about him and
not get any help Dame came, but Dame is never
going to get a ring, and it sucks. I really
like Damian Lillar, like the undersized cards, but I mean, look,
(28:48):
we'll see. I think you should save up your your
shekels and and ask your lady for some tickets to
go for Christmas. I think you should make that happen
because baseball baseball, like I said, it's pretty inexpensive. Now,
I don't, I don't know what it is. LA and
the Dodgers sell four menion tickets a year, but it's uh.
(29:09):
I think it's one of those things you don't want
to wait on. Man. You want to go.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Yes, especially now when they're winning the al be perfect
if you can see them window at least the clinching
to the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
You know you deserve it. You get up and go
to work all the time. And that's for anybody listening
to man. You know, don't have that when I call
a poor man's mentality. Don't don't be giving everything else
to everybody else and you got nothing. You can't pour
from an empty cup, you know what I'm saying. Don't
don't don't sell yourself short because you think that there's
gonna be time to enjoy and do those things, and
(29:40):
all the time is now there is no get a
job and work forty years and get a gold watch
and a pension that doesn't exist anymore. Everybody's listening here
just saying show.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Me go out and enjoy. Go out to see the world.
You know there's a lot out there. Yeah, just enjoy
your time and your people.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Well that's the important one. Enjoy the people, man, and
I enjoy you. I appreciate you jumping on this podcast
because you know we're doing big things. Episode twenty. I've
got some ideas in the work. I'm gonna shoot you

little sum something to say. Oh shoot, I hope that

we get some more special guests to do some segments
on this podcast. So brother, no, I love you man,
be good, be safe. I'm looking forward to seeing you.

Speaker 3 (30:41):

get a photograph or some some video for the Instagram page.
All right, man, let's get a cheetho and get out
