I am Brother No and what was doing This is
Notew Parker. Good morning, mam man.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Okay, it is the morning for both of us, so
we typically do this to night, but here we are
first thing Monday morning. And for people that don't know,

the morning putting on this show for you folks. Let's
get him around them. Well, it's like.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Anything for anything, anything for the guys that listen.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Well, we appreciate it, We really do. I mean, we
got like six or seven people that listen to this podcast,
so we got to give it to him.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yes, yes, definitely, I've just this.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
More than seven. But every one of you guys matters.
We appreciate everybody that listens and shares this podcast. You
guys keep us coming back for more.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Okay, because yeah, much love, much love.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
You would just talk sports regardless, right men, We would
just kick back all day and just talk sports.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I can just do that all day with you, mo man.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
But we're doing it for the people, all right, Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
In episode thirty five Big Island Sports Talk Show. We
were ready to rock. What do we got on the
agenda today? We gotta talk about the NBA Finals is
coming up. We gotta do some NBA conference wrap up.
We're gonna talk some Yankees, TAJ just some ya Yankees
about your boys show. Hey falling asleep? Man, we got
to talk about that. Man so bored and he fell asleep.

(01:51):
We better have something to say about that.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
We'll see definitely.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
And then what's about the NFL and sending all their
games overseas and why I have a problem with it? So,
without further ado, let's kick this off all right, Big
Island Sports Talk Show, Episode thirty five. NBA Conference, What
did you think about it? Man? Western Conference Eastern Conference?
Kick it off? What do you think?

Speaker 2 (02:12):
I thought Timberwoolls was going to give him a more
fight than than I thought it was gonna be.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I was like, wow, Man, what's going on with the
Minnesota going through my LA Lakers? And they went through
Golden State and just couldn't compete with with okc oh.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
They couldn't And it was it was severely one sided, right,
I mean, I'm with you. I thought that they would
put up more of a fight. I'm thinking we got
Sga versus ant Man. Yeah, or you had decent matchups.
You had Rudy Gobert, who's what four time defensive player
of the Year against chet holmbrid who's up and coming
into his own. But it was severely one sided. I

(02:53):
was I was pretty disappointed, you know, until I really
looked at how effortless it was for Shake Guilgris Alexandria
and how Aunt had to work. If you look at
the defense, Uh, they were throwing bodies all over at Edwards.
Shade was getting to his spots easy, easily, and and

(03:13):
so it really shows you that there's levels to this
and shows you that coaching does matter. Yeah, Chris Finch,
the Minnesota Timberwolves got them to that spot again for
the second straight year. But you gotta be thinking about
blowing up that team, right.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
I thought it was gonna be a good good Western
conference fire. I'm gonna my petitioner was game seven. Yeah,
the way the whole hot those two teams was coming in,
Oh like, oh wow, man, that's gonna be a good
Western conference And it turned out to be the opposite.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Whoop, That's what it was. Well, I mean it's only
for the for the Minnesota Timberwolves, but I mean for look, Okay, see,
I remember being on this podcast last year. We're talking
about how young they were and you know, they still
got some ways to climb, and you know we saw
that in the playoffs last year when they got eliminated.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
But this year it looked like they've been there before. Man.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yeah, no, the way how easy it was for Shay
and it was just crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
I thought it would be way way better.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
And like you said, coaches makes a difference, especially in
this kind of in this format of where the Western
Conference Championship, like you said, two years in a row,
and they got there and they just can't get over
the home man, that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, and then you know, go back to ok see,
it's like he got a little bit of everything sprinkled
in there. Okay, So you've got a scoring champion, you
got an MVP and SGA, you have defensive just proudness
like Alex Carusso is a champion, right, he won a champion.
Yeah they call him right. He's thirty one years old, right,

(04:53):
he's young.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
He's been there though, he knew what they think. I'm
thinking he's over there whispering. She's here, like, man, you're
the man. Let's get this. You can't be stopped, you know,
because just the way he was with all his teams
and battling true playoffs and and and and I and
he's a good, good addition to to that team.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Well they needed him for the Dipper series. I mean
we know that that series win seven games and where
they call him the Joker stopper. And you're telling me
when he was six four five and he was just
upending the Joker, like I don't I never saw. And
if we're talking about what two time MVP Joker arguably
yeah four five, some people.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Argue prime time Joker we're talking about.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
And then we're talking about lou Dort, Right, LUDRT, you're
talking about the ideal three in D type of guy
sitting he wants all the smoke and he gives it
to you. Right, So I look, think they're calling this
to Paul George finals because of course Paul George played
for both of those friends chizes. But yeah, so far

(06:02):
he's so far in the past because you got young
superstars like SGA, like, uh, excuse me, but keep going
down like y's Halliburton. Let me tell you this as
we move on to the Eastern Conference. I don't like
trus Celiburton that like.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
I mean I talked you to be the very one
that would like Haliburt.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
I don't know, all right, It's maybe it's just little
things like like he does have that energy, that attitude
I can get behind because he's going after people, like
he gets into it with Dame Lillard.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
He gets into it.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
You know, he's that dog man, He's that dog.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yeah. But I mean, I don't know. Maybe I'm just
biased because I told you I don't like his jumper.
I think his shot is.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Ugly just because it's real slow on his release and
I don't know what his mechanics.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
It's effective, sure, but but here's one thing to really
spit out Like he was v he was just virtually
like no, not involved at all in the game and
the close that game against the Knicks, and all of
a sudden in the fourth quarter he goes off the scores,
you know, finally gets going and he's over here on

(07:11):
tucking his jersey and just pulling this like I'm.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Like, is that what like like like like he like
he did some real damage in that Knicks game.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Yeah, and he did in the series, but really, Pascoe,
I can did most of the damage. Yeah, thirty point games.
He's the one that won Eastern Conference champions or Eastern
Conference ad But you know, like no, just like he's
he's a good player, he's a great player. He's like
almost old fashioned point guard where he's looking to get
everybody else involved. Right, Yeah, you know nim Hard and

(07:43):
Mee Smith, they're finally you know, waking up, like nim
Hart shut down Jalen Brunson and that that final game. Yeah,
that six turnovers locked him down. The Knicks just looked tired.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
But going back to they look beat up, man, That's
that's that's differently, look like.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
They have to fight. He called for every every basket.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Well, there were some things that came out on that.
And I'll hit on the Knicks here after I make
this point about Halliburton. But I don't know, I don't
want Indiana to come after me with pitchforks and everything.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
You just say, Matthew, he has a weird.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
History of basketball, right, Ry Larry Bird was there what Indiana, right,
I mean, look, he coached the Pacers. Yeah, okay, yeah,
I mean, I was like I was little, little, but
I do remember someone. But anyway, Yeah, I don't want
to pit Indiana. I'm not disrespecting you.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Maybe it's just the color.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
You didn't have love for Reggie back in the day. Reggie, Right, Reggie,
Reggie's that guy.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Though Reggie's stone coll killed.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Right.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
I see why him and Halliburton have a thing. They're
pointing at each other and there's a bromance and stuff.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
But he's he's seeing what Haliburn did in the Guardian.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Oh, I remember the chunking. But man, I was hoping, obviously,
because you know, I've been rooting against the Pacers the entire.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Time that you were Matthew.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I wanted to have some prosperity and come back, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
But well I wanted the Knicks too. I picked the Knicks.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Well, congratulations to the Pacers. First time. Yeah, THEA Finals
since the year two thousand, right, this is before White
two k when everybody thought the world was going to end.
That's this is where we're at right now. But I
mean an important important point that both of the teams
in the finals NBA Finals, which starts this Thursday, traded
for young point guards. Remember Halliburn came from Sacramento the Kings, right, Yes,

(09:37):
he was there with dearon Fox right and then yes
so uh and SGA it was with the Clippers.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
So, I don't know who they chose him. Maybe it
was Paul George, but s GA was was and Paul
George they got they gave him.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
A lot for that trade, right, a lot, you.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Know, good for these two teams. I don't know if
this is good for the NBA. You got too small
market teams was coming. But what are your predictions? What
are you hoping to scene?

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Well, my prediction is I got Okay see in six.
I just love the way that the okayc is playing
right now. They're they're looking like they're all in sync.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
They're like they're they're ready for for for the finals
again when what definitely the destroyed mient of soda. SGA
looks good. Check on grin, it looks good. And I
like the balls on this guy. Yeah, I got the
thunder and six.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Thunder and six all right, Oh, I mean I'm going
against Indiana. The whole time I was like, you know,
I'm not changing it.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
You're gonna go with the Okay, see, I know.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
I'm one series too, so I'm gonna say, okay, see
when's it at home in seven?

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Wow, it's gonna be that close.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Seven Because obviously the Pacers they play well down the stretch. Okay,
they deserve to be there, even as a four seed, right, Yeah.
They always given the Bucks fit. They match up well
obviously against the Knicks, knocked him out two years in
a row, actually knocked the Knicks out of the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Let me say this, do you think they have champions
with a healthy Boston team? Why you're bringing up all stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
I mean, yeah, we saw Boston. We mentioned before in
the podcast. Boston was something like ten to two without
Tatum on the floor, and yeah, you're losing his twenty
seven to twenty eight points a game. It did hurt them,
But Boston had championship pedigree too, they were defending champions.
It's very difficult to repeat.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Right, it's very at this time and this day. Yeah,
it's very difficult.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Yeah, And like I'm giving the Pacers seven because again,
they got hot. They've got a little bit of everything.
Miles Turner, whether you like him or you hate him,
he's there. I always like a big man that could
step out and shoot.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Threes, but you can shoot, you know, And I like him.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
He's not just spotting like He's not like how Joel
and Bed is gonna take that man. He's going for blood.
He's going to try to bang Obie Topping. I mean,
the man's jumping out of the gym, right, So there
are aspects I like about the Pacers. I don't like
the yellow. I don't like Mustard. I don't know what
by golly, he's a weasel. But but but I got

(12:22):
to give it to him. And then Rick Carlos right
as a championship winning coach with the Yeah, so I'm
giving them a chance here maybe maybe you know, okay
see comes in and takes him out. Okay See in
five was trending right after, you know, we found out
what the matchup was. So America thinks it's okay Sees

(12:42):
to lose. Yes, of course, I would love to see
s g A bring home m v P scoring title
and uh win that championship.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Their first championship.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Well, yeah, I mean what this been there since James
Haring was coming off the bench as a six man. Russell,
Westbrook and clov were all pups.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Right.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
So it's been a long time, but it's nice to see.
Obviously there's people in Seattle that are looking at this.
It's like, man, if we had the SuperSonics, this could
have been us.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Right.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
How can somebody so beautiful be so sad.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
That that's that's so true?

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Do you know?

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Maybe you know?

Speaker 3 (13:22):
I don't know if you do. But why did the
SuperSonics leave Seattle? I don't know that off there?

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Oh I didn't.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
I didn't know because Lloyd attendance, they couldn't. I'm not
too sure about why they left. Maybe owner wanted to sell.
I really not too sure about that.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
That's what I'm thinking. But I wanted to confirm.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
But they didn't. But but the fans didn't want them
to leave, So I don't. I don't know why.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Okay, let's see Seattle SuperSonics left for OKC in two
thousand and eight primarily due to failed attempt to secure
a new arena deal.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Oh you better get your stuff together, man, we making
a playoff front.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
So yes goes to show you right there. So I
bet it was one of those things where ownership was like, well,
we don't want to pay everything for a new stadium, right,
even though these guys are uber wealthy and billionaires, and
the people up there in the Pacific Northwest are thinking,
we don't want to pay for this. You know you're
gonna put it on us. Not every city believes in that, right,

(14:24):
A lot of people get behind our teams. What just
a year or so ago, the people in Kansas City,
as much success as they were having, They're like, well, look,
we don't want to the Hunt family can afford to
do this. We don't put it on us right. Similarly
in Chicago too, which I think they finally did get
something done because Chicago Bears should have a new stadium
next Yes, but but yeah, I mean, look, you said six,

(14:49):
I said seven. I'm just hoping for some entertaining, some
close games like OKAC has won in dominant fashion. I
think they've won something crazy like four or five games
with thirty plus points.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Just ridiculous, right, oh, exploring everybody, it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yeah, So let's let's hope that there's at least competitive.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
We all know it's going to be a shootout.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Yeah, let's hope. So let's hope. So, well, let me
let me ask you about this because I want to
bring up the Knicks. Obviously, I was on record talking
about how I wanted New York could be back in prime,
and we thought this was the time right here. And
then coming up, you know, obviously they made They traded
Julius Randall, they got Karl Anthony Towns, and it was
working for a while. Like the fact that they got

(15:32):
to this is game five.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Game was because of a big cat.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Because a big cat, right, he went off right, and
yeah it took off. But I don't know Karl Anthony Towns.
You know, some speculation came out. I'm going to read
this here for you, So it came out. This is
from bleacher Report that Knicks players and coaches expressed frustration
with cats defense and felt like he was executing coverages incorrectly,

(15:59):
with no x the nation as to why players felt
that Cat did not grasp the importance of defense.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Oh lord, we were talking about defense. There is no
defense in the NBA? What what? What is that? That?
That's not defense?

Speaker 2 (16:17):
When you go defense, you're looking at the early two
thousands or the nineties or eighties, that's defense.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Where you score one hundred year you're happy. Usually it's
what eighty maybe ninety?

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yeah, And in that in that range, but defense, don't.
I don't think you should be talking about defense right now.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Real well, that's the report, That's what true report had
said right there, and you know that it didn't just
come out. That was probably something that had been stirring.
Maybe they felt like because we knew my cat wasn't
a defense.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
A big man, No, he never was.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
And you knew you had a liability in Jalen Brunson
right there. So now you're trying to hide two of
your star players. You know, really you really need to
be so solid lockdown on the other end. And Josh
Harten is a decent defender, He's not giving you anything
on offense, like, yeah, I think we could win a
three point contest against them, Oh, Jane, and Obie is

(17:21):
more of a score than as anyway.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
So yeah, you.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Knew you had these deficiencies. And now, of course it's
it's all still out in the open because now New
Yorker's got their feelings hurt. Of course, the Knicks, they
look disappointed. Up there. You got Becky Hammond over here
talking down on Jalen Brunston talking about if your best
players small, you can't win.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Yeah, it's not how big yards so much. You got
in right here in your heart. I like the balls
on this guy.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Well, I mean they had the heart, but they their
hearts was worn downy. They just looked tired. They looked
defeated again.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
All over then to beat up, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Jalen Bruntson's money. They just they feel like they hit
the wall. And the pacers were still on the rits.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
You know, they came all them doing all of this
and three.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
So I don't know maybe that you didn't, you know,
coalking up Reggie Miller and how just biased his coverage
was like I don't want to hear him at all
on there. Like it's because he knows more basketball than
I'll ever learn, but it's like I like it when
announcers can really just paint the picture. At one point,
Karl Anthony Townsend, you know, he's been struggling with his
knee injury the whole time, and he falls and and

(18:34):
then you hear Reggie Reggie Miller talking about all this
is just for show, and it's like from you played
in the playoffs, you know it's more physical and somebody's
over here on the ground rolling around and you you're
talking about it's just show. Like, please do better, Reggie Miller,
he didn't win a championship.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Being an say and all that. I don't think you
should be putting anybody down. If anything, you know better,
like you said, be better.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Be better, objective Reggie. No, anyway to get on that,
But I want to go back. I think we talked
about this maybe kind of close to the start of
this podcast, and we're talking on Jalen Brunton and is
he a superstar? I think for all you're saying, yes
he is. That does that change anything the result of
this season. He's got full confidence that they're gonna be

(19:23):
back next year, gonna run it back. He's over confident.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Do you think he's a superstar Jamie Brunson, Yeah, definitely, Okay,
he got game.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
I think you need like a couple of other guys
being his uh, A couple more guys that can support them,
A couple of tall guys.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Yeah, a couple of dog guys that can support him.
But I think they're like a couple of scores.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Away from being a real contender.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Well, you hear the news is and they want to
New York wants to ship out Karl Anthay Towns and
bring in Giannis.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Show me the money. Oh damn. Really? Oh wow, now.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
You think you think one? You honest because he's talking
about leaving Milwaukee. But he's really gonna do it. I mean,
he did bring him a championship in twenty twenty one
over my sons. They got. He was talking about he
wanted a superstar. Dame Lillard is there and rehabbing. He's
walking on the treadmill again. So but I don't know,

(20:25):
he's over here getting into fights with Curri's, Halliburton's dad
and everything.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
So bring that river to New York.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
That's another thing. I don't like the Pacers. I'm just like,
control your bench, like they got the man. They had
a band for eight games. He finally came back talking
about free pops and all this, like it parcerated, you know.
But anyway, so I only we're not bring up Jayleen
Brunson beause I want to read this here to you.
So they say, if Jaylen Brunson is not a one

(20:56):
A player, then who is? And it shows a side
by side comparison of Shake Gildris Alexander. So I'm gonna
read so SGA in the playoffs? This this the playoffs
in its entirety twenty nine point eight points a game.
Just fantastic, right, Jalen Brunson edges him out at thirty
point one. Okay, SGA's got the rebounds five point seven

(21:20):
to three point five. Jalen Brunson has got him and
assist It's is closed, but he's got him seven assist
a game, SGA six point nine. Their field goal percentage
is almost identical forty six percent edge to SGA forty
seven percent. So after three point percentage, he's shooting thirty
six percent from three point range. His true shooting is

(21:42):
at fifty nine percent, edging out SGA, and then points
from free throws twenty three point three percent. SGA's at
twenty six point five.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
So it seems like seems like Bunch is a better player,
well stat wise.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
That's but let me ask you this, though you would
it would beat us?

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Would it be a better team if Bronson was in OKC?

Speaker 2 (22:06):
And wouldn't New York be a better team if if
SGA was in New York?

Speaker 3 (22:12):
I think the SGA being in New York part and
reason being is because SGA does a great job getting
his guys and ball right, and he does a good
job get into where he wants where that last game,
it was kind of hard watching Jalen Bronston kind of
labor around, spend left, spend right, get your bunch money

(22:33):
taken by namhard Like. It was just like every time
I thought that they had a chance to make it
a run, and I think they did cut it to
seven or eight points at one point, but they again
they just looked tired and getting no offense from Josh Hart.
You know, cat is just like why.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
You know, well, what would they win that series? If there?

Speaker 3 (22:56):
I mean, I got to get him to the m VP,
the current MVP scoring champion. I think he would have
willed away it because because Jalen Brunson and Kat fell
short in his games. I mean then Jalen Brunston had
nineteen points and that in that fin.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Yeah, Nis Carton didn't didn't show up.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
I just read it his average. He's averaging thirty in
the playoffs. So you you get that extra eleven points
or so, or go over like Pascal Siakam who had
multiple thirty point games and two. Yeah, so it's to
your scenario. I'm thinking, yeah, but I would take the
SGA over Jalen Brunson right now, even given the fat
I mean, he's younger, he's got a little bit more hype,

(23:33):
a little bit more length. But I do I just
think that SGA does have a better team around him.
Yeahs coaching Mark Dagnall, that's not wasn't running him into
the ground and having his players play forty plus minutes
which just they just had nothing left to get. So yeah,
so yeah, I just like to compare those stats. I
just wanted to see, you know what you thought about that.

(23:54):
And then another knock too on Jayleen Jalen Brunson. This
man getting his lunch money taken. I respect the fact
that he's fighting back to his bully, Andrew nim Hart,
but like you got head button, man, is that the
kind of playoffs that we want to see? Right here?

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Again, Bud, you ain't getting no freebie.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
And that's not the first time he was shoved them
before nim Hark.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Yeah, he got in his head.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
He got frustrated, and that's how that's how your game
get depleted, when you get frustrated. You said, you're scoring
all this, but this guy is over there tormenting you,
you know, picking your pockets, bullying you. On the court
of course you're going to retaliate because you're frustrated and
you're letting your team down by not scoring and and

(24:38):
getting his getting into his head and getting turn on wards. Yeah,
I think that was a big factor. Well yeah, at
that game.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
I wish I wish they would show Rich Brunton up
in the stands just looking man, just you know, he
was alright NBA players. So but yeah, and again I
like Jalen. I like his heart, I like his mindset
where he's at right here.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
He he's a baller for sure, but.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Yeah, him and Cat definitely let the Knicks down. You
let New York down, and it's the biggest city in
this country, so you're definitely gonna hear it. And Stephen A.
Smith is all up in arms because he's up and
he's down. They win and they don't, and they win
and they don't. So yeah, but honestly, I mean for
the NBA, the playoffs have been pretty pretty solid. I
got to say, yeah, that's some good series all in all.

(25:26):
I'm very with the product here, even with small markets
coming up, we will see. But yeah, and then going
back to Halliburton, like I'm giving his flowers, like especially
if he shows some promise and comes up. Now he
did struggle with Okay. See this year he's averaging eleven
points a game vers Oh yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
That's I think that's the factor there. I think OKC
gets just much that much more better players surrounding.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Shay and uh. That's why I'm thinking them at six.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Well, I mean, and that's giving him some respect, because
you're still saying that PACER's gonna get two games. And
I do think that team around Halliburton is good enough
because as I mentioned before, he was virtual. He was
a non factor in his last game until the fourth quarter,
and that team was still up right.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
So but it's not when you really need him in
the four, We'll get me, because you don't want to
be like Lebron and and and not scoring the fort
and costing the team in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
You speaking from experience, he's not like that.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yes, yes, I got my wounded wing over there.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Your team ain't going nowhere.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
I was over here with you got what blah blah.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
I don't but look looking at Tyree's hurt Halliburton, even
though I don't like him, you know she would like him,
because you know, we looking for some American superstars to
step up right now as USA versus Canada, and I'm
Team Canada right now. It's all the staff. Everybody's from that.
It was pretty good in the Olympics this past summer.

(27:05):
But anyway, Yeah, at twenty five years old, he's a
one time assist leader, two time All Star, two time
All NBA, two time Eastern Conference final appearances, and one
time final appearances. So I mean, this man wasn't even
one years old. Last time the Pacers were in the

(27:25):
NBA finals.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Wow, that long time.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
You know, it just goes to show you like it's
not a guarantee. And then again it is very difficult
to repeat. But I'm happy for him. I'm happy for him.
I would like to say that I'm getting my money's worth.
This is like the most NBA I basically tuned into
every round, every game that I could. I've said it,
I haven't watched every game start to finish, but I've

(27:51):
been very grateful little too for my current work schedule
that I can get off and watch these games and
really just be involved in seeing it, because it's different
from looking at a box spoor versus kind of watching.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Yeah, watching it, you can see what's going on, you know,
the few of the game, and and and then I
just like, yeah, like you said, I got to watch
it and stats looking at the stats.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
Yeah, and there's a lot to it because again, like
Jalen Brunson, who was wonderful right offensively in this series,
I just Regular's numbers somewhat better than SGA the MVP
throughout the playoffs, but he was minus twenty six for
the entire I didn't want to know what cap was.
Oh lord, you know, run, but you've giving up and

(28:38):
you were able to blow by you or expose you
your target where they're trying to get to easy buckets.
The Pacers had so many easy buckets. Every time the
Knicks would make a flurry and run, Pacers were getting layups.
Like at one point Tyre's Halliburton went right down the
middle their little head fake Ogobi were into the corner
thinking it was gonna be a three, and he dunked

(28:59):
the ball. There was no paint presence.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Again coaching, especially in the playoff, for you gotta protect
that paint man.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
No easy layups, make him make the shot, right.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
But I mean, look, we're sitting here on this podcast
talking about that.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
You tell me.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Tom Thibodeau doesn't know that. So yeah, I don't know, man,
at all I know is that you know, it was
a good series. I mean, both of them were well
in Minnesota. I don't know if they ever got off
the bus. I don't know if they're still cold in
Minnesota or they just froze to the floor. But has
Rudy Gobert give you twenty seven and twenty four eliminating

(29:34):
the Lakers and then all of a sudden, you can't
score eight points?

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Golly, he's a weasel, thank you.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
They have be seven foot seven foot three, can't can't
get eight rebounds?

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Are we serious? So at least grab something, be a
physical presence in there.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
You know, he was just a presence. He was.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
There wasn't no physical about him, all that.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
Height for no reason, essentially, right, he was just out
there and like like if I'm that tall and like
aunt is struggling they putting all those bodies, I'm like,
can we get some role action? Can we get a
couple of alley upes to just make.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Them at the roll, get them involved? You know, you know, like.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
They I mean, but look for me, I like to see,
you know, good defense. I don't need one hundred and
forty points a night, right. I like to see guys
making those shots when it's.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Tough, competitive, you know.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
I look, I went to the park this last week.
I was proud of myself, and I break four hundred
shots out there. I went four from ten from the
pre throw line. Nice, believing that it was ninety five
degrees out there, and I hadn't picked up a basketball
in six months. But it's hard to play basketball just
with nobody guarding you and putting that ball into hoop.
So I especially appreciate it when you are at the

(30:48):
time of year. Everybody's worn down, everybody's tired, but everybody's
hungry because the championship is right around the corner.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Who wants it more? You know? Notts? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Who you mentioned? Who's got the heart? So yeah, So
we'll see. We got our predictions on record here here
on the Big Island Sports talk show. Let's take a
quick commercial break, and when we come back, we'll talk
a little MLB. Talk about your dog. Yes, had a
nice matchup against the Yankees, so let's talk about that,

(31:16):
and then we hit a little NFL and call it good.
Sound good?

Speaker 1 (31:19):
It's sounds good.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Of a Matt Hi Brother No Matt Parker, Big Island
Sports talk Show will be right back.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
I wanted to do.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
Isn't it crazy how every commercial sounds just like this
when there's an action movie.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
Why you're bringing up all stuff your entire life.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
It's been the same guy that talks just like this.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
I don't care who it is.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
And then here comes Lee and Neeson and taken eight.
Oh lord, you've gone too far.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
I'm gonna chop your legs on the way in.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
You're entering a world of guns just like you love,
because this is America. So keep on watching because here
comes an explosion.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Oh yeah, I like the balls on this guy.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
Explosion Gun Movie comes to a theater near you this Friday.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Explosion Gun Movie is not a real movie. We're not
be coming out this Friday.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
You got me fired up early in the morning. I
kind of like it. Baby going, Baby's.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
All right, welcome back being on sports talk show. Grollan
Noa Matt Parker here early in the morning, brother Noa's side.
Like I can see I can see the sun rising
over there. Look at all the light coming up appear
when the stars were still out right, you still see
all the satellites above Malchaya and everything. Yeah, I saw
Killaway was interrupting, like crazy, is that still?

Speaker 2 (32:47):
It's going crazy? Just started a little settling down. My
family out there, they could see it from their homes.
Ow Briday was blowing orange. They were saying it was
about seven hundred feet in the air to eight hundred
feet in the air.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
Madam Pelley was going off.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
It was.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
It was beautiful.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
I never got to go out and see that and
took pictures and put it up on the internet. Think,
you guys, that was those beautiful.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Not enough people bringing Madame Pelle Flowers. Man, I don't
know what the u is, right, you know? Yeah, I
thought she was upset because Josh Green has signed that
bill they got to tax everybody coming in, right.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
But I thought the furst stacks.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
I thought she was with that. I'm like, I'm all
for it, man. It was like everybody thinking out there
to find my aloha. No, br you gotta bring that
with you.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Right, Yeah, well it was kind of dangerous. Uh my
sister guys. Uh, and of that beauty with that duty
comes a little like Vogue and they phoned Pelly Hair.
You guys don't know what is that it's a real
thin lava that flows out and ash covered my my hometown,

(34:06):
Pahalla and Coou and uh it was my brother in
law called me like, man, I have to get them,
ran out and grabbed me a bloor. I thought him
come because all that penny hair and all the ash
was all over the place. You ever get those pelly
hair on you, you get itchy, and yeah, and the

(34:28):
and the fog is just it's pretty big, pretty thick
out there.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
And I totally just they could the only thing they
could do was just.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Stay indoors and be safe and turn on their fans
and stuff like that. So cool out there, stay safe.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Yeah, of course, you know, big ups. It's like obviously
it's it's a natural wonder. It's an amazing thing.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
It's beautiful. Yeah, it's beautiful, don't get me wrong.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Island you know, over four hundred four thousand square miles
and it's still expanding in dramatic fashion. But to leave
be safe out there, Big Island. You know, guys being
tourists going up to the Big Island, be respectful, you know,
he said, just the people's homes, like you just mentioned,
people are in that area. That's it's it's a it's
a big deal, right Obviously, sometimes once in a lifetime deal.

(35:17):
I remember when Manala was out there, Remember saddle Road
was just packed and see that, because obviously that doesn't
happen very often. But again, there's a certain respect. You
always respect to Aina and the people that take care
of it and people that are just inhabiting it. That's
just something that just absolutely needs to be said. But

(35:38):
let's let's move on to the major leagues. Take me out.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
To the ball game.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Take me out.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
To the Crown.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Baseball's rocking right now, man, Baseball's rocking. Your dodge is uh?
The series? World Series rematch? It gets the Yankee that
eat him down good in Game two? Bro, it was
like a football.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
Yeah, it was crazy the amount of him squarers squares,
Dad though, so much squares or tiny fell asleep?

Speaker 3 (36:20):
This was knocked out Cole in the dug out. Is
the way he kind of shook his for me, like,
oh wait, I'm not at home. I'm in a game
right now. This is crazy. See what happens when they
take his mess off the mountain. Now he's falling asleep
in the dugout because he's got a son at home.
Then they got a little baby at home, so that's
what's keeping him up. But that's all right. But yeah, man,

(36:42):
it's good series here. You know, Yankees they take one
of the games right there, and the Dodgers that was
they took the game yesterday. Finally the Ben Rice going
going yard, and it's it's really cool, I think when
you get these big matchups right here right, I mean it, look,
I'm I be honest. If I look on my streamings

(37:03):
that I see Dodgers beating up on the Rockies, and
you think I'm tuning into that, come on, No, all right,
Denver's nothing.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Rockies ain't nothing. Rockies is doodoo, as cousin Jonathan would say, right.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Here, and he's gone out there and watch.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
You're sticking on the Rockies like it's like, okay, I
saw this thing here from Field Gates and it said
wins since May second. Okay, the Colorado Rockies have three wins,
and right next to them is Scotti Scheffler, who's a
golfer in four tournaments. Scotty, he's got three wins, and
then twenty eight games, the Colorado Rockies have three wins.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
So oh, lord.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
Obviously two different sports, both very than their own. But
my goodness is it's hard. It's hard to lose twenty
five games. Yeah, all right, come on, So but Yamamoto,
you got rocky yesterday? Man, what's what with your boy?

Speaker 1 (37:58):
Oh man, you got got steak yesterday? To him out early.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Pitched, but he gave up seven hits. Are you getting
four runs and have four earon runs?

Speaker 1 (38:10):
Like?

Speaker 3 (38:10):
I look, and then at the three walks on top
of that. Now, obviously players get hot.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
He's a human.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
He's allowed to kind of fall off right there, but
he just looked immoralized in that dugout, especially after giving
up that home run.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
You know.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yeah, they Roberts come over there and tell him to
shake it off. But he could find the strike though, honestly,
like and I like that, how you can pitchers go
after it because on ninety six pitches he did have
fifty six strikes or fifty nine strikes. But yeah, now
they're kind of locking in and saying he's going for
the throat and what happened? You just wait on the
breaking ball and that thing is four hundred and twenty

(38:46):
five feet out.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
You know, later they just say it.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
They just sit on it, you know, sit on that
breaking ball and ticket yard and basically is what they
did yesterday. He has his ups and downs. Some games
he's doing good, some games he's done. But the kind
of money be giving him, show me the money better
be doing mama, Matt, you better be doing good.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Bro well, I mean yeah, and especially take the first
two games Yankees or Dodgers victorious over the Yankees on
Friday night.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
Score, I wanted that, sweet baby.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Yeah, of course, because especially how the World Series played off,
let's just assume they're gonna matter. Yeah, it's the psychological
effect of knowing. Like name, we used to be the
big bet Yankees with the highest payroll. Now we're looking
at the across the across the field and it's the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Right.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
And then after that Saturday beat down again, as I mentioned,
eighteen to two, you know that's de moralizing. Of course,
you know they bounced back yesterday not to win seven
to three. Uh, but but it it took a lot.
So all I'm saying is for your betting, you know,
mere in Las Vegas, anytime these two teams play, bet
the over. I don't care what it is. It's uh,
it's gonna be.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
Fire It's it's it's gonna be fireworks.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Yeah, with aren't judge on the opposite side and a toy,
it's it's gonna be fireworks.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
I just had to put that picture of Altani that
fell asleep, but he was, he was he you're tired,
you got to be to fall asleep standing up?

Speaker 1 (40:05):
Oh man, George rolling up and there in his wheelchair? Game?
Where where you mean?

Speaker 3 (40:12):
I gotta know, I gotta find out how much this
man makes per game. I just got to google this
real quick. But you're right, it wasn't like I don't know,
it was a seven dating stretch and they're singing Sweet
Caroline or whatever it is. I don't know, standing in line,
get your Dodger.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Dog, but this man hundred dollars, don dog, honey.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
Fans got there, you know, Yankee Stadium and charvezk me
like this man literally fell asleep with all that crowd noise,
Like it wasn't like the game was.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
There's yeah, after a couple of home runs in your
raging crowd, and how can you fall asleep on that?

Speaker 3 (40:46):
I can't stand them. It's not a good look because
you know people always say baseball is boring and obviously
they've been doing with it.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
No, he's making it look boring.

Speaker 3 (40:54):
Right, yeah, let me see how much does he make
per game? Tell me give me all of this way here.
What's your guess how much money this man make per game?
That's an average. Let's put something out there.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
Five hundred. I think it's.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Close four hundred and thirty two thousand damn per game.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
That's that's what I can do. I can I can
be set for that kind of money. Yeah, no, ya,
he's buy my house with that money, you know.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Yeah, And this man is sleeping it okay right here,
but that's fine. Look he's still up there among the
labadors and the home runs. He's still doing this thing
up there, you know, just taking a look here at
the rest of the standings. I like what we're looking
at right now.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
Like, well, on the other hand, we have what's his name, judge.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
He's leading in a lot of categories, and he said
he just might go for the triple chrome this year.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
Man, But does that go anything, because we've had people
go for triple crowns and still not take home nationally
MVPs americanly MVPs. So like I like Aaron Judge Alt obviously,
I mean the man in his stature, what he's able
to do still even you know, going through the slumps

(42:12):
that he has. Excuse me, thank you so much, But
is it sustainable like he's due for a slump, you
know what I mean, Like it's it's like clockwork, and
I'm not I would rather him have a slump, a
hitting slump, versus an injury, because you know he's susceptible
to that too, right, Yeah, well not of the Yankees

(42:33):
lineup is definitely not ideal. Now, they do currently have
a five game lead on the Blue Jays. Okay, they
got a little bit of cushion. Uh, red Sox can't
get over five hundred, you know in the Rays they're
always hanging around five hundred there, but seventy three in
their last ten games, and they they played really well

(42:55):
at home. So yeah, you know, we'll see. As I'm
looking just across the board here, who weren't really surprised
about Detroit Tigers.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
Man the best record, and yeah is that the best hurd?

Speaker 3 (43:08):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (43:08):
Yeah? Yeah, and they are.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
It's you know, I always like with Cleveland Detroit, like
you know, down trotten cities if you will like they
just always seem to be in contention in baseball. But
as you know, it's a long season and it ain't
cold yet. It's very cool.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
No, it's not cold yet.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
So there are times there's there's there's a chance. But
I'm looking at the American League Central. Take out the
White Sox and everybody else is competitive in that in
that division.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
Is the same as the NLS. Do you take all
the Rockies and everybody's contention down there?

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Good point, Good point, because even I'm looking here, Yeah,
I mean in that National League Central too, same story, yeah,
same yeah, the Pirates. You know, shout out to Andrew McCutcheon,
who knocked in two hundred Boys War home runs right there.
You know, he's uh, he always.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
Want to He's that guy. Man, he is that guy.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
And I know you're happy because it happened in San
San Diego that that crowd went quiet right there when
that happened. But you're talking about a player that can
do everything.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
Yeah you can. So's he's that guy. Like I said, Man,
he's a baller.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
It's really cool to see like, and you know, I'm
really grateful because you know, I didn't I didn't grow
up watching baseball and really getting involved with it. But
it's pretty exciting. It's pretty exciting stuff I gotta say.
And like, you know, we gotta finally got a bating
cage here in town.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
You gotta go try and match you.

Speaker 3 (44:37):
I'm gonna go hit. I'm gonna go learn how to hit.
I'm thirty five now, you know. I just celebrating my
birthday in early Many. I'm looking forward to just kind
of doing things to stay active. I don't need to
be swinging for the fences. I just want to make contact.

Speaker 1 (44:49):
I'm just getting hits, you know.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
Just getting hits.

Speaker 1 (44:52):
You know, I remember that you.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Feel better, and trust me, at the end of the session,
you will feel better.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
Well, it depends on how I do.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Now.

Speaker 3 (44:58):
I remember the last time I stapped in it. Creak
that thing up to ninety five. I want to see
what that looks like. Man, let me tell.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
You sweechin music that thing.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
That thing whips right by, and you got guys throwing
even faster than that.

Speaker 1 (45:13):
Don't blink at you, don't bline.

Speaker 3 (45:15):
I got a great handbye coordination. I could not catch
up to this ball. You could see the ball getting
loaded in the thing and it's about to come out.
I felt like I was swinging before I could see
the ball come and I was still still behind it.
And then at one point like I was just holding
the bat like a bunt, just trying to make contact with.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
It because h just to say, just to say I
touched it.

Speaker 3 (45:38):
Ninety let me tell you that thing hit my bat.
I don't know if it hit in the wrong place.
My hand's hurt so much.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
After that, I was like, oh my god, Oh the vibration.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
That's why they were the gloves right there. I couldn't
I couldn't imagine having some decent swing speed and hitting
the ball four hundred and fifty four your fifty feet,
you know, out of the park to the second stand.
So uh, you know a lot of respect what those
guys do. For sure, Baseball is not for the week,
and you know it's in a long, long season, so

(46:09):
you really got to just.

Speaker 1 (46:11):
Buck it down and get ready for the long haul.

Speaker 3 (46:15):
I'm looking forward to it. I mean, as we go
further into it, especially this time of year where NFL
is kind of on the back burner, which were going
to hit a little bit of NFL before I let
you go. NBA obviously is coming to a close pretty soon,
which I'm okay for it because I was there all
season long. You know, White and west Son started out
eight and oh and I thought there was somebody. It
was nothing, you know, now watching what we got the

(46:37):
NBA Finals starting on Thursday, So this is gonna be exciting.

Speaker 6 (46:40):
I don't care if I never go back. So each
root root root fun. They don't win in some shame.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Oh lord, and it's one two. It strikes you out
at the field.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
But let's uh, let's switch over to the NFL real quick,
because I got I got a couple, I got an issue.
You know, I understand the NFL is all about expanding globally, right, yeah,
but when is enough enough? Because all you hear nowadays
is America first, and like, what about the people here?

(47:30):
And now you've got the NFL. That's just like, you
know what, let's just start sending a bunch of games overseas.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
What do you think about, Oh, there's a lot of
games overseas now.

Speaker 2 (47:40):
I remember it was just maybe one or two overseas,
maybe England and Germany.

Speaker 1 (47:45):
But now it's all over the world.

Speaker 2 (47:47):
Now it's in Brazil, it's in I'm thinking they're gonna
go into Australia. It's it's it's a bunch of places
they're gonna go, and that's a whole lot. And it's
a weird tear on the team. Now, don't get me wrong,
because they.

Speaker 1 (48:06):
Got a hall all what they have.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
What they prepare for a week, you know, and they
got to bring it to another country and get ready
and like in a couple couple of days. And I
think it's gonna I think it's a hall for the
for the team.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
They're going everywhere. They're going all around the world. San Paolo,
South Polo. Excuse me. They're going to Dublin, one, two, three,
four five, six, teams are going to London.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
We're going to Mexico, Yeah, Madrid.

Speaker 3 (48:35):
And my whole thing is too like you're taking away
home games from people right, Like you know, I live
in Las Vegas. I try to apply to work at
the radio stadium. I could have been in Communio Broncos fan.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
Oh what's gonna be a raider.

Speaker 3 (48:50):
I'm got a fun job while I'm in this big city.
But the thing about it is is they don't pay.
They don't pay. Youre talking about fifteen sixteen dollars an
hour for everything from ticket to wow. Like, bro, like
you got to know somebody that knows somebody right to
damn there. And actually maybe you do your time and
you can work your way up. But for every day Joe,

(49:11):
who's working these jobs, concessions, ticketing, you know, everything that's
on the outside, they depend on that, right, that's the
job you take a lot of pride in. And now
looking at this list, you see I mean how many
teams that I mentioned one, two, three, four, fly, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
thirteen and I say thirteen because you got Minnesota who's

(49:31):
playing in London and Dublin. Okay, so thirteen teams, there's
only thirty two. We're gonna be sent overseats right there,
So you're taking away games from home fans. Like you
mayble a passion Myron had about going to all the
stadiums and all of that, right.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
Like it's yeah, you want to see all the stadiums.

Speaker 3 (49:49):
Yeah, but you want to have an opportunity to do that.
I'm not. I'm I can fly to la I can
fly to to San Jose, I can't fly to.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
To Brazil, can't go to London.

Speaker 3 (50:00):
You know what I mean, go see it? Nor would
I want to, right So, I mean NFL, I get
you want the global expansion. They already tried, you know, NFL,
like we.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
Got football in Canada, NFL.

Speaker 3 (50:13):
Yeah, yeah, they got NFL going or the NFL. They
got football going on right now. I don't want to
watch the XFL and the AFL and you know, like
arena football is all right, you know, but I want
to watch the top of the top, you know what
I mean. I watched college and really only decent matchups.
I'm out here watching the.

Speaker 1 (50:31):
Sweat ivory games and exactly I'm not.

Speaker 3 (50:33):
I'm not doing that on a Tuesday night just to
watch right here. But but again, sending all these games overseas,
you're taking money out of people's mouths like that. It's
just a real sense of their time in the country too.
But nobody ever stands up against the shield, nobody else.
But I'm just thinking, like when it's enough enough. It's
twenty twenty five, So we've got thirteen teams going play

(50:55):
overseas again, as I mentioned the Vikings two times going
over there. So where does it end. We need all
thirty teams? We need to we need a team over
there in London over here. I thought that was Jacksonville
Jaguars live over there every year.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
Yeah, they're they're they're claiming Jacksonville or whatever as a
second home in London. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:14):
I mean, this is the most things. I looked at it, and
I know it's been out for a while, but I
have some time to ponder and say, is this a
big deal? I'm like, it is a big deal. It
is a big deal because not everybody has the opportunity
is afforded that that chance to go to these games.

Speaker 1 (51:27):
They have that.

Speaker 3 (51:28):
Yeah, and like pre even preseason, and it'll be it'll
be a talking point as we come in now where
in June, as July starts rolling around, we get into
early August. Preseason games are not cheap, you know, getting
a break on those on those concessions on stuff.

Speaker 1 (51:43):
I'm going to a mini camp, man, that's not cheap exactly.
You're going to go to a mini camp game. I
mean just a mini camp. Man. I'm putting some money down.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
You ain't got to tell me how much, but like
on average, like per ticket not counting, like.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
No, but it just flying there, getting hotels and getting
rental and.

Speaker 3 (52:04):
Because I about to say, like that already is adding up.
So I'm like just to see the miniking, like unless
they're handing to be a playbook and a whistle so
that I can get out there. And you know, like coach,
it shouldn't be, but you know it is the NFL.

Speaker 1 (52:21):
And yeah, they're.

Speaker 3 (52:23):
All about that money. They're all about the papers. So
show me the money, you know. I don't know, I
just I just wanted to rant on that.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
Oh and I just heard about this this morning. I
wanted to get your thoughts on this. They are going
to make a flight football in the Olympics in twenty
twenty eight. There are thinking of being NFL players being
eligible to play flag football. Would you want to see
them playing flag football and representing their their their country.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Absolutely. Here's why I want the best of the best.

Speaker 1 (52:55):
Right, you want to see quality games.

Speaker 3 (52:58):
I want to see call it. I'm not like, I'm
not like like I'm an American, but I'm not like
America's got to win and be the best and everything
like that. I want to see the best of the best.
Going back to those years where you say Voat was
dominating right there, one hundred and the two hundred and
the foot right once coming up. Bro Yes, of course
I'd love to see America.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
I wanted to see that. I want to see any
records broke too.

Speaker 3 (53:17):
Yes, exactly. So I don't want to see junior college
transfer yacht and YadA representing here because he qualified, even
though he may be good and getting juke anybody out
there shooting. No, no, no, give me somebody, give me
Stefan Diggs. Get him off that boat with Cardi B
and get him over there and you know, over here
breaking some macOS. Show me Tyreek Hill's speed versus the
fastest that they got over there. Yeah, I don't want

(53:39):
to see water down mucky football like you. Even though
it's flag football, which which is most football recent football
I played, it still gets physical, it's still fast, like
there's still a lot of skill involved and.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
Be a lot of skill goes into it. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (53:54):
Yeah, but I want to see some adversity, you know
what I mean? Yes, Like it's like absolutely So to
answer your question, I want to see the best of
the best. If people want to go represent their country
and ownership is going to allow them to do that,
because obviously there's injury, there's risk, you're paying some money,
millions of dollars and you're sending them overseas. That's where
it gets a little different because only really we have

(54:15):
NBA that can that is on that kind of same level,
whereas the best go and even those guys are adapting
to the game that's over there right, there are different things.

Speaker 1 (54:23):
Yeah, that's different.

Speaker 3 (54:25):
The distance for the three point line is different. So
so absolutely so to answer your question, I would I
would only really tune in and if I'm seeing the
best of the best. It's kind of like the Big
Three with ice Cube? Are you tuning VIC three to
watch the watch ice Q's league, Like, yeah, it's growing
and everything, But like everybody that I'm seeing in a

(54:46):
Big Three, I've already seen it in their prime in
the NBA.

Speaker 2 (54:49):
So I'm not I'm I'm not watching a lot of
down versions. I already saw them in their prime and
what they could do in those professionals.

Speaker 3 (54:56):
Yeah again, I would rather go shoot to the park
and its four hundred shots myself. The tune into ice
keeps big there, you know what I mean? Would you say,
man George and his wheelchair, Like I don't want to
see Rishie Wallace turning the ankle and to have to
get like no, and I'm not saying he's in there.
I don't know who's in there, because again I don't
watch it, but I just it's just funny to me

(55:17):
because we want to see the best. You're talking about.
This is entertainment. I'm spending my time, my life, my energy,
my money watching this. Why do I want to see
a water down?

Speaker 1 (55:27):
I want to see quality play?

Speaker 3 (55:28):
Yeah, And that's just I'm just you could say an
American you know, I mean ry, Okay, look, it's not
even that all right.

Speaker 2 (55:44):
As a sports fan, I want to see, you know,
good competition. I wanted to see a big blow and like,
you know, yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:51):
I want to see some adversity. So I mean, if
it's better for the competition for us to send Joe's
instead of pros over there? Okay, leaven a flag talking about.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
No?

Speaker 3 (56:05):
Yeah? Okay? Can we treat people with some respect around here?

Speaker 1 (56:10):
Respect? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (56:11):
Can we can we figure out what's going on with
what we really represent?

Speaker 1 (56:14):
Some law?

Speaker 3 (56:15):
And yeah, betting off topic here. I don't want to
be opaty. This is a sports podcast. But you asked
me a question about it. That's my answer. What's say you?
You you agree, you want to.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
Oh, definitely, like you said, I want to see the
best guys coming out of their country, you know, yeah,
I want to see this guy burning the best corner
back and who is this unknown guy burning the best
corner back in the NFL, you know, or somebody just
locked down the best receiver.

Speaker 1 (56:42):
In the NFL. You know. Definitely, I want to I want,
honest see what the.

Speaker 2 (56:45):
Road has and uh and I'm pretty sure the NFL
might see, like, hey man, let's give this guy a chance.
He kind of shot down this this this this professional
football player, you know, and maybe the he on shot
for himself being in al or some some sort of
recognichine they know for them.

Speaker 3 (57:04):
Good point, those are the stories we like to see
right there. But yeah, definitely, It's like and then it's
like I'm not on the other side. It's like we
send our pros over there and we're blowing everybody out
fifty sixty zero. It's kind of like, Okay, well, this
is our game. There's a reason why they're sending these
these exhibition games overseas and getting people a little taste
of it. But like NFL Germany didn't work, okay, in

(57:26):
NFL Australia didn't work barely working in Canada, you.

Speaker 1 (57:30):
Know, barely, you know, barely working over here with the XFL.

Speaker 3 (57:33):
Why I got the yeah, exactly why they got the
gold posts in the middle of the thame. Did they
ever moved that in Canada? That is so big it
used to be in the I don't know.

Speaker 1 (57:40):
I don't watch it.

Speaker 3 (57:42):
As a wide receiver. I'm like, okay, you want me
to go over the middle catch this slant. Great, I'm
gotta deal with a little lot backer hook to curl action.
But now You've got a big old yellow gold post
and I'm about to run into and I guarantee that
thing ain't moving.

Speaker 1 (57:54):
All right now, I ain't moving. I'm pretty sure that
thing is like ten feet down in the ground.

Speaker 3 (57:59):
Yes, so until until somebody's you know, college football upset
happened and they pulled that thing out of the ground
and carry it down the street America. I don't anyway,
that's it, brother, No, Thank you so much, man, this
has been great. Shout out to all the islands, Shout
out to everybody that listens to this podcast. Thank you
for getting up right and early literally to do this
podcast for everybody.

Speaker 2 (58:20):
Well, I'm ray, So I was just happy you mentioned it.
I was like, oh man, damn, I keep did it
in the morning too.

Speaker 3 (58:25):
No, I think I think that was good. Like I mean,
I'm gonna be off Mondays, like it might just be
better because like you know, Sunday's family day. And I
was like, you know, I appreciate your patience.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
Was well, if you see something on Sunday and you
want to I'm free and whenever you're ready.

Speaker 3 (58:38):
Well, we needed to get it done because I want
a prediction on record before the finals started, and you know,
and and everything as we come in. But yeah, one
thing I did forget to Mintiongan. We were talking nfl
H this is weeks ago, but I didn't cover it
in the last time. But the Ravens did release Kicker
justin Tucker. He's gone off that roster. That that means
something they found something in their investigation. Oh release definitely

(59:01):
all time right there, so we'll see because the Raven's
a bitch.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
That's a big suspection coming up. That's probably why they
released something like I don't go on the wish in
our time. With that, we don't know how long he's
going to be out. Well, just to cut times now
and just found a new kicker, you know, and.

Speaker 3 (59:16):
They did it and the guy over there is apparently performing,
so they had to do what they had to do.
But yeah, the NFL is just like, don't don't about well,
you know, when it was Deshaun Watson and you can
argue because he was a quarterback, everything that was happening.

Speaker 1 (59:28):
Oh, everything came out pious activity.

Speaker 3 (59:30):
Yeah, everything was headlined this and that. But Justin Tucker
gets really it's like, all right, farewell, Justin Tucker, No,
what about all those massage therapists? What about those people
that were set to harass and and people.

Speaker 1 (59:41):
That had there's gonna be with mister Kraft.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
Yeah, exactly, him him hanging out with mister Kraft again.
When you got that.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
Billion rubbing thug over there.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
Yeah, when you get that billionaire money, you can make
things just disappear, right.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
You know, be gone anyway, it's.

Speaker 3 (59:56):
Gonna bring that up. I love you, man, have you
some have a great day.

Speaker 1 (59:59):
I love you. You have a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
Matic you're going to work today?

Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
Yeah maybe in about half an hour.

Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
All right, Well, thank you so much. Tell everybody that
I still like I said, what's up?

Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
Definitely, definitely Velma would love to hear.

Speaker 3 (01:00:12):
That, yes, sir, all right, piece up brother.

Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
I love you, I love you, my math I just

(01:01:33):
got my hair done two days ago
