Speaker 1 (00:00):
Cheer.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
What up? What up? Guys? Welcome back to another episode.
I am brother, no, and always with me is my
brother Matthew Parker. How's it going with matt Man? It's hot,
it's hot. It's summertime.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
There's one hundred degrees here in Las Vegas. Help nobody
tell me it was like this Now I'm just kidding. Hey,
welcome to the Big Islands Fours Thought Show, Episode thirty six.
We are doing the damn thing here. Got a lot
to cover, man, But yeah, thank you for asking. I'm
staying in the ac Valerius chilling. But you know what
(00:55):
it is, the cold I can't stand. So one hundred
degrees here, I'm like, one hundred feels the same one ten,
you know what I mean. I got my armow, no
ac roling. Like I'm feeling good, man.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
I just got my head done days ago.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Now I'm gonna be burnt to a crispan a couple
of weeks. But then we'll check back in there, right,
We'll see summer here in Las Vegas, so we'll see
how I feel. But I hope you're doing well. Family
is good. Everybody's good.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Everybody's good. Everybody's good. Family is good. That's what I
like to hear about. You and your family gets doing
good up and there in that heat.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Everything's good, man. I mean, like I said, Valerius, staying
cool riers, I cannot complain. I'm liking my job. I
get to talk sports with you. Uh, and we got
a lot to talk about. I mean today we're about
to be, of course, covering the NBA Finals. Gotta give
some love to both teams right there. They deserve it.
Even though you know how I feel about Tyreus Halliburton
(01:47):
and the Pacers, I'm still gonna show them some love.
We got to talk a little baseball because it is
baseball season. I'm we're gonna talk briefly about tennis. Tennis. Yeah, tennis, right,
that's the one with the rackets, just in case you
folks listening don't know. Yeah, whatever else comes to mind, man.
But first, I got a shout out some things going
on on the Islands. Man. So it has come to
(02:09):
my attention that three star quarterback, former Bishop Gorman High
School quarterback Micah Eugeno is returning to the Islands. So
he's gonna continue his career out there doing some good football.
I love seet quarterbacks coming up. There's been a long
list of w white quarterbacks coming out there. Look, Marcus Mariota,
he was my guy. I thought the roof was high
(02:31):
up for him. Cold brand, rest in peace. I mean,
who else comes to mind when you think about your qbs.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
And there you go, Tommy Chang.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Timmy Chang, Yeah, wasn't. I was gonna say he wasn't
on the cover NA like PlayStation two't he would never
on it. Maybe I just played with him because I
liked the Rainbow words back then. See I didn't even
know about the Islands and I was over here just
representing on PlayStation two back in two thousand and five.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Don't get me wrong, he can sling it.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
He could. Well, you know what, It's good. I'm glad
he's still around. His influence was great. But some more
news here. Looks like the Rainbow Warriors are getting a
little bit more help on the basketball side and has
sixteen sixteen year NBA veteran Patty Mills why as a
general manager.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah, so wow, nice, nice, I'm just reading about that.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
That's dope, Patty Mills bringing all that experience, uh, and
hopefully they can benefit, you know, put the Rainbow Warriors
back on the map. General manager has a pretty big position,
so it is hopefully they give him some run, let
him do what he wants to do, and and we'll
see in the coming years.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Definitely, definitely, I kind of wait through what he brings
to the program. You know. Yeah, man, wait as an experience.
So like, just let the man do whatever he wants
to do this, give him free range.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
You know, that's right. I mean, you know he had
the success with the Spurs and he's I'm Olympian, right,
so yeah, you know, hopefully, like you said, they out
of his way because what they're doing right now is
not working.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
So it's not working at all.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Get out of the way. Last news here, the Special
Olympics is kicking off in a while, So shout out
to all the athletes over there, all the volunteers with
big hearts putting that on. It's a wonderful thing, right, I.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Mean, yes, go get it, guys, go get it.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
That fire in you. Doesn't matter what your circumstance is,
your situation. People want to compete, right, were competitive by nature,
So everybody going out there to support them out there
in the wahoo. I know, I kicked off a couple
of days ago. We're a little bit late, but love
to read about that kind of stuff. And that's when
you talk about aloha. That's that's what it is.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Everybody can come together, no matter race, whatever, we can
just come together and compete, you know, and all the
big shout out through the athletes out there, go get.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Them absolutely absolutely well. I mean shout out to you too.
I heard you've been getting up early in the morning. Yeah,
I have now the listeners about that what you've been doing.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I'll be getting up maybe about five. Me and my
son been putting on doing some cardio getting put them
on the treadmill for an hour. Right after that, I
have a like a rolling machine. I put them there
for another half an hour and we finish up with
wait for another hour. Not something you really want to
pat yourself on the back for, but yeah, so I'm
(05:20):
getting stamming up and kind of making them strong because
he's kind of on the bony end, you know, long
and slim. Put a little bit muscle on him for
for varsity ball.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Okay, this year is coming into varsity ball.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah, and I just got word from one of the
coaches that it might comes to like with tiers one tier,
two tier, and a tree tier. We're in the second tier.
So I'm thinking we're gonna play or he Helo Vikings
or White Ko one of those teams, or we're gonna
(05:58):
start playing the D one Schools. Yeah, so I'm I'm
I'm telling them, man, you better bake up because this
D one Schools is gonna be playing. There's no choke, man,
there's a there're big schools. There's a lot of kids
in there that played from when they're all small. So
I want to buck them up a little, you know,
(06:20):
get his stamming up and hopefully he can get that
secure that uh that number one I'm running backspot.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Okay on varsity nights coming into his junior junior year,
right yeah, deal right there.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Yeah. I was like, bro, this is the time right now,
this is the time when you put in work. Yeah,
we're supposed to be putting work last year, but with
wrestling and all that, So I just let them be,
you know.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yeah, don't overwhelm them. That's good parenting, right Yeah. Proud
you for getting up with them. It's one thing to say.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
It's like he told me, Dad, if you're gonna if
I'm doing it. You canna do it to me too?
I like, oh lord, let's do it.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Yeah, No, good for you though, I mean you talking
about two and a half hours before most people even
get up to start their day. And I mean the
role machine byself is a lot. Now you're adding weights
after that and some carry up before. Like, no, good
your up hopefully yourself too.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
I've been telling them for like years, all the way
down to my daughter, like the work that you put
in after practice or before practice, that's that's gonna help
you a lot. It's gonna benefit you, benefit your body,
gonna it's gonna benefit a lot. Like I told myself, like,
how many kids your age right now is waking up
(07:37):
this time and put it in work and or or after
after practice? Who who's putting in time? You know? The
guys that put in the time, that's the one that's
gonna shine. No.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
And you gotta think big picture, right, don't leave it
to your senior year to yea work and go. You
always have that regret. Plus, you gotta be thinking about
the S word dollar ships. Right. You put in the
work right there, like that shows up not not just
on film, right, And you're talking about. He's a multi
sport athlete you mentioned yeah before that, and you know
(08:12):
him wanting to take home the state championship. But well,
you're not gonna do that rolling off the couch and
thinking you're gonna flip somebody on the map, especially not champions.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
So, especially when when we grew up, I wish I
had somebody telling me for do this, what I'm doing
with my son, I would appreciate it more because I
didn't know what I was just like Greenharten, you know,
just playing sports and didn't know what I was getting
myself into. Never had that good good of a coach. Nowadays,
nowadays it's very advanced because of all the you can
(08:45):
go online and look up on how to get better,
how to how to crafty game better. And it was
way different from when we was growing up, just somebody
telling us what we're doing. But now you can do
it on your own, you know, put in the work
by yourself.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Absolutely, And I mean and looking back, guarantee, he's gonna
appreciate that. You think about ten years down the line,
having somebody in his corner, says you mentioned, not everybody
had that. You didn't have that, right, Yeah, I didn't
have that. We had we had some mediocre coaches, but
we weren't even sure following their lead. But right, I
mean you don't go and ten. Obviously they weren't playing
(09:22):
the game for us, but we were prepared. We have it.
It was instead of Wooster Colts who were the Wooster Doves.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Yeah, we had was this practice whenever, no film, no
all this stuff right now, the technology that they have
right now. Back then it was raw, like get in there.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
And.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
I thought I thought the game film looking like scouting
teams for for us was pretty grainy. But I mean
if you had it back then, you couldn't make it out.
It's probably in black and white. Huh, you couldn't.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, there's apparently anything on that screen blur vision. Is
that bigfoot passing by?
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Shut out to A. I can't wait to have him
back on, Like, please extend the invite. I know he's
got long days. The school is priority. I know that's
the kind of discipline you put in, so you know,
if he ever does half time he wants to jump
on for a couple of minutes, please extend the invite
to him because we love to hear the progress. Like
you said, you're playing the D one schools investor. Luck
(10:23):
to everybody that's out there, like all your everybody safe,
and everybody be competitive and just appreciate these good times,
right yes, yeah, well, well you know what, speaking of
good times, let's jump into the NBA Finals. I mean,
we have got some great games. I mean, on the
last episode, you predicted six games, okay, see right, and
I predicted seven seven and we are on pace, both
(10:47):
of us with a split series right now split?
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Yeah. The Pacers taking game one one eleven to one
ten in an absolute classic, a thriller, right, that was a.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Triller to the end. I think ditrick to lead at
the end of the game when they won, it wasn't
their first lead.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Zo point three seconds left, man and Tyrey Halliburton coming
off the mid range and just nail.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
He was struggling too, don't don't forget that he was struggling.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
And you saw me I posted on the Instagram page. Yeah,
here's the Reggie thing with his two shooting six points
at halftime, and then he came and bit me at
the end, like I look again, I mentioned it before.
I speak a lot on this podcast. I talk a
lot of mess but I'm gonna get on here and
say when I was wrong in Game one.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
I was wrong, and uh he got some ice water.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
In he did he does. We talk about clutch. He's
got a game winner in every series coming up right here.
I still don't like him that much, but you know.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
What I mean, what did you like about it? He's
slow shot.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
And that's the thing too, that shot was so slow.
I'm like, how was nobody on him? Let him make
him shoot free throws or something at the end. And
the thing about it is how the patience was. Like
for me, obviously I mentioned I won seven games, it
was how the Pacers just walked okay, see down Like, yeah,
the gas didn't close when they were supposed to. Ndpha
(12:10):
had a chance to put them up, missed the mid
range turn around and gave him a chance. Like but honestly,
for the entertainment aspect, it was great. Like I was
watching Ohn at Sam's Club, like I was in disbelieve.
Valerie was looking over my shoulder like what is this?
Speaker 2 (12:24):
What is this? Like what's going on?
Speaker 3 (12:26):
He wanted to me. She's like that's really cool. Valerie
loves baseball or basketball. She's not really that much into football.
She likes it because I do. But she was watching
the last end of that game right there and she
you know, yeah, it was pretty intriguing. And then just
some stats for game one. Again we talked about Tari's
Halliburton struggling, but he ended up with fourteen points, six assists,
(12:47):
and four rebounds. Of course, the two most important points
came at the very end. Sga thirty eight points, three assists,
and five rebounds, the third highest points for our finals,
first finals game. So I thought that was you know,
I love sports history. Only only two people above him,
you know these names. George Miken nineteen forty nineteen forty
(13:09):
nine had forty two points, and Alan Iverson against your
Lakers in two thousand and one had forty eight.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Wow the answer, baby.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Yeah, So I mean pretty exciting stuff. Sga did everything.
He got some help. Lou Dort had fifteen points, Jayalen
Williams had seventeen, but chet Holger fell short with six points.
And he It's funny. In the fourth quarter, I saw
him in a fast break and he like missed a dunk.
He was at the rim. Thought he got fouled but
didn't go up hard enough. Yeah, think about how important,
(13:37):
Like that was.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
A crucial That was a crucial miss.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Yeah, and it's like that they took their foot off
the gas as we said before, but very entertaining game. So,
I mean, what did you think coming off of Game one?
Did you did you think that okay See was in
trouble losing home court advantage in Game one? No?
Speaker 2 (13:56):
I knew Indiana was gonna be scrappy like that. They've
been doing that too long all the series, from the
beginning of the playoffs. You know, they're being scrappy like that.
They're being coming up from from the back from I
think it was from there, from the Cows game too.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yeah, they ran everybody?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Was it from the Cows?
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (14:16):
There they got the dog in them? Bro? They they scrappedy.
I like the way they play, but the way Oklahoma
played D they're tough man, they're playing They're playing D tough.
I can't believe it. I was like, it's this the
same NBA I'm watching. Look like we got back to
the nineties where everybody's Troy hard falls and scrappy D play.
(14:41):
I was like, Wow, it just warms your heart, doesn't
it It does? It does, Like I can sit down
and watch this.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
We talked about season long because it was We complained
on this podcast that it wasn't physical. It was nothing
but forty three pointers for every team up there some
team shooting two for twenty eight or oh for twenty seven,
like that Houston team against Golden State a couple of
years back. Yeah, it was hard to watch, but this
has been a very entertaining series. Two games already down
(15:11):
in the books. Just give you the score for the
second game that went final yesterday. Okay, see rebounded at
home evening of the series at one and one with
a one twenty three one on seven victory and SGA
again thirty four points. And here's the thing too, He's
got the most points through the first two games in
finals history, seventy two points total.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
So we mentioned this game looks smooth man. I love
his game. That's mid shots, that's money.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Gets to his spots, right, And uh yeah, I mean
seventy two points. Allen Iverson had seventy one and the
goat Michael Jordan was sixty nine totals. So uh, he's
making his claim for best in the world, and maybe,
if that's premature, at least justifies his MVP. It was
well deserved, right, especially Joker head up right, I think.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Straight up, bro, he beat up Joker straight up.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
But yeah, I mean and a crazy stat too, okay
See seventeen and two following a loss this season five
to oh in the postseason. So I mean, Pacer fans
like you know me listening, those knees are knocking right
there because then you you poked the bear and now
they woke up, right, they got pushed to the limits.
Could argue, okay See should be up to oh right now.
(16:26):
But for the entertainment point, I'm glad that it's one
to one and we'll see you on Wednesday when Game
three comes down back in Indiana.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Yeah, I can't wait for that game. The I think
Williams and home Grin didn't do good in the first game,
but that did they did very good in the second,
and I think that was a two different of why
okay See actually took that big lead and didn't look back.
(16:55):
If those two guys can keep on rolling like how
Shay is, I think Indiana might be. They's gonna be
too much. Didn't too much for for Indiana.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Well, it seems too much for you, boy. Haliburton here's
the thing too, Like, yeah, he can clutch shots, right,
but you can't hit a clutch shot when you're down
twenty all right, yeah, last bucket of the game and
cut the lead to eighteen. But you're not covered the
spread with that, and you're not you're not doing right
by Caliburton. In game two, seventeen points, I mean he
(17:26):
led his team with seventeen. Miles Turner had sixteen points
in Pascal Siakam had fifteen. But these are bench points.
I mean, okay, see alone had forty two bench points.
They're bien worthy their top three.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Yeah, Wiggins, you were shooting the lights out man. Oh
like wow, yeah, that's like bonus for them, you know,
if Wiggins can get hot like that. Wow, Well it
looked tough.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
You mentioned Wiggins with his eighteen and then arguably the
MVP at least defensively, but it came alive offensively in
the game with Ali Caruso. That's your boyfriend the Lakers.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Alix Caruso is doing it, but he's that guy.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Is this Kawhi Leonard or is this Alex Caruso we're
talking about lockdown.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Is luckingka And yeah, you know, like was like Man,
where did this guy came from?
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Now?
Speaker 2 (18:18):
He's like that. Man, he's a scrappy guy.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
He is like that when you think about it, like
both LA teams are suffering because you've got Alex Carusso
who was just traded away like he was mint to meet,
and then you got man that was by your Lakers,
and then you got and then you got Shank Joji
Alexander who the Clippers just traded a bowtlo for it
for Paul George. So it's crazy, right, that is crazy.
(18:41):
But going back to Caruso twenty points tighty career playoff high,
you know, wow, he needed them, and.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
It seems like how much Wiggets got.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Wigan ten eighteen in the last game.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Man, if those two guys come off the bench and
do that, it's gonna be a long night, friend. Anna.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Yeah, man, I mean and honestly, honestly, like I'd like
to see it because I like to see the adversity, right,
I'm glad that. Okay, See, they took their foot off
the gas. We said they were a young team. They are,
I think. But Chase twenty six checks like twenty two
to twenty three, and Jane Williams is like twenty two
to twenty three, like they're maybe he's a little bit
older than that.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
But they're maybe twenty five, but they're still in their twenties.
They're puppies.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
About a team with some potential to you know, get
their first championship and really lock in and.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Like and maybe lockdown for a dynasty.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Man, Look, we already said it's hard to repeat, so
we will see throw the D word around yet because
they got to get one. The way you can do
it is you go to Indiana and you take one.
You gotta get home court back.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Don't be put in Indiana though.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Well I would, I mean, but just what kind of
puts me to sleep?
Speaker 2 (19:58):
You don't like telebrate from like.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
And you know what? All right, So I was on
Twitter because you know, I like to get Twitter to
find some of my sources, and somebody summed it up perfectly.
Terry's Halliburton. He's one of them guys that celebrates only
when they're up. He ain't talking smack when they're down.
And all this. He looks stunned. He looks shocked, He
looked bamboozled. He looked like he got molly walked. He
looked like paddle to the bottom right there from SGA
(20:23):
and Chat and Jalen Williams and Alex Caruso. And I
just think, like anybody that's front running that that ain't
got nothing to show for it in terms of hardware rings.
You know, he ain't won no MVPs. Yeah, he's an
All star whatever, all NBA, but no hardware. By golly,
he's a weasel. Like be quiet.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
I want to hear from you for your daddy. We
got to see it first, thank you.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Like, is anybody gonna remember Terry's Halliburton's all his game
winners and their comebacks and how clutch he was if
they lose, they if it really is a job and sweep? Okay,
seeing five like everybody still expects it to be. Yeah,
he's gonna remember that, right, Yeah, you know, I'm gonna
remember old joking and all this stuff. They might remember
the choking for a different reason.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
I like the balls on this guy, which is.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Come on, bro, I went to the park, I put
up seventeen points. Now I was playing getting hurt. But
I'm just talking to about HELLI burn. And you want
to come on here and defend yourself, you can all
I'm saying, is we are getting a good series is already.
Of course I wanted to go seven because I fear
that once NBA season is gonna, you know, come and go,
(21:37):
all we're gonna have is is is baseball, and I
don't know some soccer, some golf. I don't know what
we got until NFL starts again. But we're gonna make
it right.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Yeah we did this last year. We're getting a poucher.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
We're gonna make it well. We're gonna be talking little
tennis today, as I mentioned earlier, and like very little
because I really gotta tell you how my Saturday morning started.
But I definitely think one of us is gonna be right.
It's gonna go six, it's gonna go seven. I would
love to see I would love to see one of
us be right.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
You just want to stretch it as long as he can.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Yeah, well, I mean and we're getting I mean, okay,
you some people look at it like a twenty four
game is not. But the way the Pacers operate, even
with nine minutes to go in the fourth and they
were down eighteen, there was everybody in Okay, see wearing
those blue shirts knew like, okay, we're not out of
the woods yet. We've seen this team get hot. Yeah,
he doesn't even started scoring yet, so yeah, and he didn't.
(22:31):
And Rick Carlisle, he knows what he's doing. We mentioned before,
he's championship.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
He's been there. He's been there. You know.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
No, yeah, he could if he if he was able
to pull this off and take two different franchises and
be championship coach. I mean, you gotta start putting his
name up there with some respect on it. And that's respect.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
What a k so Jackson respect.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
I don't even will Field got a lot, you know
what I.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
Mean, you got a lot, but he did it twice
in through franchise.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I will look at the players that Field.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Had, though, Shit, you got Shay.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Yeah. Rick Carlisle's got Hallibert. Look look at this wind up.
Look at that. Yeah, look at that Sean Mary in
type shot he's got right there.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Gru doesn't itly like Sean Mary? You said at once
to one of my friends, like, is it kind of
like Sean marn where he just cali It.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Just kind of urges the ball into the basket. Yeah,
Look he bounce and falls in and key boats. We's
fourteen and I'm like, oh my goodness, here we go.
But look, no, it's been great though honestly I'm not
there are no complaints coming from my end.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
I haven't bet on any of these games, so I
can just watch. My team is not in and obviously
they're terrible. My team is over here, hired assistant coaches
from the Calves. Who is this hot guy, otter guy?
I don't know man in Michigan State Buddies. The Sons is.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Boo boo talking to mad Jon.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
They don't want, they don't want. I will Bradley be
able to come back? But if I'm Bradley Bill, I'm
kicking it. I had no trade clause and I'm due
like fifty plus million dollars. I don't care if you
don't want me back, cut my check here. I don't
care who it is. Yeah, they want to trade Kevin
Durant to like, I'm like this team, dude. When they
talk about a poverty franchise, even though billionaire owners got
(24:16):
all the money, they will never overcome. Okay, they just won't.
It's bad decision after bad decision. You got a Mike
Malone out there, You've got a Mark Jackson out there,
Tom Thibodeau gets fired from the Knicks. You got good
coaches out there, Yeah, they want to pick off the
Halves assistant bitch and and and hire somebody that's got
the same good This year, well, they did good in
(24:40):
the regular season, sixty four wins, was first in the East,
but they also had a first round exit to the
Pacers and we Seesars. So I mean, I get Look,
nepotism exists. It doesn't matter what it is. It's not
just Lebron and Brownny bench warming for Browny. It exists
in the corporate world. It exists in our world. We
saw it at the four seasons. It exists. Yeah, right,
(25:01):
so but that's all right. Look, I'm still in the
better position than you guys are because the Lakers ain't
going nowhere.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Try that again, buddy, But can we get Brody out
of there? Yea.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Brody probably would have played better defense than Luca did.
Luca's out there. He can't guarded a cone, a traffic cone.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Better d Harden order Luca?
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Why like Harden? Because you ever seen Harden do that? No?
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Look, yes, you know what I'm like. He don't want
to then, yeah, snatch the ball Luca.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
They driving by him and he chewing on something. But
although he does look he looks good. He's been spending
his off season in Europe and he's looking skinny. But
I don't care about off season skinny Luca. Okay, I
care about end season, like do something yea in lockdown
on defense, which I don't think he has it in him.
Maybe I'm wrong, Maybe he can come into his own.
(25:57):
He's fine offensively, but they need help. They need defensive stoppers.
You first, you need a big, you need a five.
Got to get a center. I hear DeAndre Ayton might
be involved in three part Turner.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
There's a free agent after this year.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Well, I mean, look, they win, he would be even
hotter commodity. Yeah, I like turning. You mentioned last time
he shoots threes, and.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
He shoots that he can shoot.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
Yeah, you could get a You're basically getting a team
move Anthony Davis essentially right righted up. Like Anthony David
can shoot threes too, So like that.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Well you can use it here big Onland sports talk show.
Brother Matt know here over here cracking up as always. Look,
let's take a quick marcial break and come back let's
talk some baseball. Good feel.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Let's go take me out to the ball game the crowd.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
We'll be right back. Attention all sports fans, with football
season just around the corner, don't be caught with your
job strapped down. In terms of sports betting, introducing the
granddaddy of all online sports, I present Cheap Books.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Cheap Books Sports, You better get your stuff together.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Cheap Books is the only online sports booking agency that'll
pay you for blown parlays. Oh how it works is
you submit your bets and we hope they cover. Otherwise,
we'll pay out a percentage of your total bet and
allow you to recoup the damages on other active sports.
Did that kicker hit the uprights and blow your over under?
Come on, how about that golfer who fell apart down
(27:46):
the stretch, costing you this month's mortgage. Have no fear
because cheap Books is here. Cheap Books is not an
officially recognized sportsbook agency in the United States of America
anywhere on God's green nerd. It was made up purely
for the entertainment actor using the code dead Bee. Will
not allow you twenty dollars of our money because we
don't have any cheap books reserves to write to withhold
any payout that exceeds our weekly allowance of zero dollars
(28:07):
in zero since plus benefits Babe reas.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Gee, bro, that's a good one. That's good and I
like that.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
All right, Yeah, let's talk a little baseball. Take me out.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
To the ball game, Take me out to the crown please.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
All all right, Welcome back to the Big Island sports
talk show. Matt Parker's brother dog here, and we are
talking some baseball base ball. I see you got the
Dodgers hat on. What's your team doing?
Speaker 2 (28:38):
We right now six and uh Padres has six going
into the sixth inning, So that's gonna a good, good
game so far.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Oh oh you said they're playing the Padres.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
Oh, I love when they matched up right there, and
I just pulled up the standings. They're close Dodgers thirty
nine and twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
No, they're right on our right on, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
Thirty seven to twenty seven, so they're one game behind,
but Padre is staying on them and then right behind
him as the Giants to Wow.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
Look at this it is on the west and west.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
Even the Rockies got twelve wins. Look that's I think
they're up three wins and the last time we had
a talk, so that's good. Yeah, goodness.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
I think we keep we keep on rising them. I
think they get better.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Yeah, and that might work, but again it's a long steat.
I mean, if I doubt the Rockies get to thirty wins,
in fact, I might be willing to put money on that.
I don't think they get to thirty, but you'd be crazy.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
But you're in Vegas, man.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
Yeah, but that's the thing. Is one thing to talk
about putting money on it, and it's the other thing
to actually do it right, you know. Yeah, but yeah,
I'm looking at it here, Padres. Wow, they always give
you guys some.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Trouble, man, They're always every every year.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
I'm looking to everybody is five one hundred or below
on the road.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Look at the East too, you know he used to
go close to that with the Mets.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Well the Mets actually, yeah, eight and two in their
last ten games, forty two and twenty four. They were
leading the Phillies. Now you know, the Phillies got hot,
you know, yeah, they they they are, but it's it's
turning into a two team, two team NL East. Yeah, Braves,
Braves' duty, you know, twenty eight and thirty seven right now, Marlins.
Marlins had and I kid you not, probably fifteen twenty
(30:30):
people in their stands, but they played the Rockets at
that like it was crazy. And they have a beautiful stadium.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Down there, and you tell me they do. They're they're
paying people to go watch baseball.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
That's crazy easy. Yeah, yeah, my boy Rob Parker no
relation of course for FS one on the odd couple.
He always jokes he's a baseball guy through and through.
He's a Hall of Fame voter, he said. With the
teams are bad, he's like, man, I had two Marlin
tickets sitting in the inside of my car and then
somebody broke my window and then put two more in there.
So I said, that's so funny, because I'm like, that's crazy,
(31:05):
like you add insult to injury. But you said it,
you mean you can pay people to go watch this team.
So and I don't know, like for me, baseball like
it's way more exciting when you're at the park, but
the fact that you're the part, you're in a part
of the country where it's not like when the weather
is terrible, you know, you've got California type weather. It's
an indoor stadium. You know, you can't get people to
come in there. Yeah, taxpayers, you paid for it, might
(31:28):
as well go.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
If they're giving them away as well, you would think
you would think they might give you some free beer.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Yeah, I mean free yeah right, you know these owners,
that's why they make their money. Parking and concessions. Yeah,
as you find out, I know, we're just moving along.
You ever look at the Natural League, National League Central
S keeper can speak over and some water. The Cubs
forty wins.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
They're doing good too now now.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Just five and five in their last ten. But for
cousin Jonathan, he's got to be feeling good right there.
They lost him.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
Oh definitely, not something you really want to pat yourself
on the back floor.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
But they lost four to three to the Phillies. So
the Phillies making up a little bit of ground. But
looking at their schedule, it's pretty favorable coming up here.
I mean four game lead on the Cardinals. Milwaukee's kind
of falling back, and then the Reds, which I like
when the Reds do well because you know, the Cincinnati
was that's the first major league franchise in American history, right,
(32:32):
So but they can't see me get any traction going
right here, So I don't know. It's it's it's cool.
And you know what, I've been watching more baseball like
kind of just if I'm sitting there watching dinner and
there's somebody on that's not the Rockies, I'll tune in
and watch something. Yeah, I would say shout out to
(32:52):
my twin brother Ridge, who's up in Seattle. The Mariners.
You know, man, anytime they come on Cal Railey, they
called him the big Dumper. You know, I love a
bit nickname right there, But Betcher, that's a good name
for a catcher. And man, he's killing it. Twenty he's
already the race to twenty five home runs. He has
(33:13):
eclipsed that already. And here's here's what it sounded like
his way. This is a swing time man out to
right field of.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Dum It is a.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Humber, just do just enough and it did that fall
fairly got over the glove of the center fielder there.
But man, catchers, I love to see catchers doing well.
You know, Major League history is full of some really
good ones. Just to name a couple of Buster Posey,
who I watched with the Giants that like the Giants
(33:53):
from like twenty ten to like twenty twelve, they were solid.
I mean buster posey Uh, he was a only twelve
NL MVP, let the Giants to the title and comeback
Player of the Year in the same year. Was great, obviously.
Yayer Molina.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Oh that's my man, that right there, that's my favorite catcher.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
There, Yadi, They go Yati, then they call him yeah,
twenty two home runs eighty ribs for his best season
as a catcher. Everybody knows Yogi Barra with the Yankees,
I mean he had yeah runs in nineteen fifty six,
finished second in the MVP that year to his teammate
Mickey Mantle, some guy named Mickey Mantle. I don't know,
maybe you heard of him or not, but was that
(34:33):
guy the one that I was like Jorge Posada with
the the Yankee cays Thurty home runs. But but we're
talking cal over here, the big dumper will referred to
on this podcast. Uh, he's got a chance to break
the all time record for catchers home runs in the
season because he is just mashing. So I would love
(34:54):
to see that, you know, I love sports history. That
record is currently held by Salvador Perez with the Kansas
City Royal in the COVID year twenty twenty one, So
he had hit forty eight for the season, but only
thirty three technically as a catcher. So I think the
big number is going to catch him, and I think
it's a it's really cool to be witnessing that.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
You know, the way he's hitting, he might have got
a good chance.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
And not everybody can be hitting home runs consistently like that,
you know what I mean. It's it's everything from exit velocity,
that ball coming off this. I love the analytics in
baseball when it doesn't affect the game. Yeah, the numbers
that they're actually.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Producing, right, unless they got the torpedo bat.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Well, I mean even my thing is you still got
to make contact with the.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Ball, you see it, You gotta contact with it.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Yeah, it was the last time you picked up a
baseball bat?
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Who it's a while, it's been a while.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Yeah, Well, I mean it's not too late.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
It's never too late, Never too late. I say, got
my daughter's tea and bats and balls. I might go
to the field and it'd be some well.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
You just want to hit him and then just singing
out of the field and that's an extra cardio.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
So that's where he's gonna be out there.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Running back. You got me out here feeling the.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Softballs, right, running back, got to learn how to catch you.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
Yes, love something right here. That's it's true. I really
hope that he does well. I really can't wait to
have him back on to here. You know, how, how
he's progressing, what he's looking up to. What did these
d one schools bring to the table. And then you know,
I mean, look, get on that speed ladder. Make sure
you're agile if he's on the Yeah, I'm I'm laky too.
(36:36):
I understand how it is.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
I told him that's the key, man, get on that ladder. Yeah,
fo work's the key.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Absolutely, balance, footwork, vision, vision, absolutely, No, that's that's pretty dope.
But yeah, just going back to baseball, man, it's it
was cool. I was watching Yankee's Red Sox like so
I went to this casino. We would like to go
to different ones just to see what the vibe is.
The One of the biggest rivalries and sports Yankees, Red
(37:02):
Sox and Red Sox. I mean they show up against
the Yankees, they really do, and they did so.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Oh they can be junk the whole year. But when
they play the Yankees, it's different, you know it is.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
It is.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
It's like that Michigan and Ohio state kind of rival.
You know, well, you get the same vibe.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
You didn't know it is because there's there's love, loss,
there's respect, but but not a whole lot of it.
Right and yeah, really cool. Before I get too off,
subject made Machado mashes his three hundred and fiftieth home run.
We were talking about the Padres earlier. I just wanted
to give a shout out to him. I mean, it's
pretty cool. I like to see I like to see
(37:38):
people hitting those milestones. And I know you don't want
you to have me shout out Pete Lonzo going against your Dodgars,
but he was just nashing, man. I mean, you talk
about New York. Everybody thinks the Yankees, but the Mets.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
No Mets, Bro, don't sleep on them, bro, They're good.
After Solo got there. Yeah, they're different, they're different.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
He went from from No. So to so Soto again.
We can give him his name.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Back, Yeah, you can give him his name back.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
He's just so So for a little while. But as
we mentioned, baseball as a long season. So going back
to Yankees and Red Sox. So, yeah, Red Sox bring
up their number one prospect. His name is Anthon Roman Anthem, okay,
and everybody's talking about this guy. And his last hit
in the minor leagues was a three grand slam, just
(38:28):
sent the ball four hundred and fifty feet, just mashing him.
So he made his Red Sox debut at Fenway today,
and you know, I had a little bit of traction,
of course, you know where the number forty eight. But
I would say he made his day butt instead of
his debut another rout, because he made it out that
he's playing right field and he made an error that
(38:51):
was just actually might have been a left field I'm
looking at it backwards here. But listen to this. How
this sound right here? Not a good start for the
Red soixe new golden boy here, So let's pull this
up here.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Y at Single.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Room, in his first game at Fenway Park makes an
enormous hammer to.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Make a three nothing raise, and Yanda is the third.
They want to boot so bad, the Red Sox faithful
want to boost so bad that.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Some of them are well they should boo, I mean,
brof go back and you see that highlight. The man
runs up, his glove is not even touching the earth.
It looks like he's all read. I literally took his
eye off the ball, like he was about to gun
somebody down running the third and the ball goes by
it and then doesn't even hustle back to field it
the center field to come and throw to the relay.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
I hate that.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Not a good look for young players right there. And
you heard the announcers say the fake look, and I'm like,
I'm glad they were booing right there. You know, are
you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (39:57):
This is the guy that the next.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
People their flowers before they're due. Yeah, like, come on
and look, yeah, don't ask me to field the ball
like it would have been worse than what he did.
But Roaman, if you're listening, shake it off. You got
a long career ahead of you. But this is the
big leagues now, But you're gonna have.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
To Yeah, there's no that sound like a little league mistake.
The way I poach my daughter, guys always teach them
glove glove to the ground, go up from down, up,
not up to down. And that's a that's a huge mistake.
That's a big error.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Well yeah, and then.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
I get more kissed because you made that error and
you decide not to hustle.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
That's it. You can't make up for what happened, but
you can at least show that I'm not gonna let
it get to me and then then make the word
hanging his head afterwards, Like body language is big in sports,
you know what I mean. Got to get your wits
about you, Bud. You got like yes, as I mentioned before,
there's no orange slices at.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
The DAC weakness. They're gonna pick on you.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
Yeah, Now what happens if Popfly comes his way out
but the spider in his glove or the sun was
in his eyes? You know, I mean, like I'm talking smack.
This guy's way more baseball player than I could ever
wish to be.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
But again, people me flowers like you said before he plays,
You know, you.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
Get a lot of hike and you're going to historic
franchise like I I when you when these kinds of
things happen, it's good to It's sometimes it's good that
it catches you in your career, and he's lucky that
it was early in the game. I haven't checked in
on the score to see, you know, if they were
able to make up for that, because they were down
to three runs after that. But again, shake it off, kids,
(41:41):
shake it off.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
It's all ye.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
So but yeah, man, I mean, look, baseball, I gotta
thank you because you don't want it's really kind of
pushing me to get into it and watch more. It
is cool because in America's pastime. It's a great sport.
It's very difficult sport.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
It's a hard sport. It's a very very hard sport.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
I found myself when I'm watching, I see what people
complain about when umpires are just inconsistent with your calls.
Like if you're gonna call a strike low, call it
all game.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
All day, just because of that team. Then you call
another strike, same strike, but you call it a strike.
I mean, same pitch, but you call it a strike
and the other one was on ball. That's that's inconsistent.
You gotta be professional because since they're with it, well.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
I mean, you know more than I do. Like I
this is something that's always going on. Every umpire has
got a different strike zone. Is that the case?
Speaker 2 (42:32):
Yeah, Some some umps they're like it low. Some guys
like I'm a little bit high. It's all depends. So
I told my daughter as a picture, find that strike
zone that he is calling, and and and we're gonna
we're gonna pick it at that spots and a certain
certain pitches because all all umps is different. Some can
(42:54):
call them my eye, some call them low, some call
it where it's supposed to be, you know, but the
all depends on the ump. Well, but you gotta make
sure that they're calling it the same thing as the
other team too, not just on our team, you know.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Well, I mean that matters right there. And I understand
why batters get frustrated because you literally have, you know,
fractions of a second to react and sometimes you you
spend enough time in batting practice, you know where that
strike zone is for you anyway, you know where that
ship is, where the middle of your chest is. And
then now you're getting you're getting hosed at the plate,
Like I understand why some guys give that long look
(43:32):
like come on, man, you know that was I mean.
At the same time, though, again, if it happens for
everybody maybe to lead a playing field, that's that's level.
But when you think about robot umps, you think we'll
ever see that.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
I hope not. We'll be consistent. But I just I
just there's just different, you know, changing the game that fast.
I say, you know how they get that the that
box when they play the strike going box. Maybe have
(44:04):
them on glasses or something where I can see it,
you know.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
Oh like like a little bit of technology right there.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
I mean, yeah, go on to robots. Just yet. You know,
if you put on the you get put on the
glasses and on the side you can see the the
strike zone.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
Well, you don't want to see R two, D two
or C three p O over here. You're throwing somebody
out of the game, imagine getting I don't know the
way AI is going. I want to be on the
side of the robots. I say please and thank you
when I use my AI.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
I know, crazy, it's crazy now.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
I just wanted to get your thought on it. I mean,
we will see one of these days, Uh, changes might
have to be made.
Speaker 2 (44:47):
Maybe something changes, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:48):
Something so egregious will happen that they just have to
maybe so uh well, look, I mean that's that's a
lot of baseball talk. I absolutely love talking to baseball
with you'all. Want to continue to get better. There are
some people who really just loved talking hearing about baseball.
So it's a long season. So just just sit tight
and hang with us.
Speaker 4 (45:05):
But I don't carry if I never go back. So
each root root root funal Gee, they don't.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Win in some shame oh lord, and.
Speaker 4 (45:20):
It's one two Hey strikes her out at the field.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
I wanted to give a shout out to Coco Gaw.
And I woke up this Saturday morning and I was
watching some tennis. Man, it was all over Twitter. I
was like, what's going on here? The French Open? What's
going on in the finals? Coco Gaw the first female
American to win the French Opened since twenty fifteen when
the goat Serena Williams Arena. Last time she did it
(45:54):
right there, defeated the number one in the world man Sabelenka.
She was killing it though. She she the beast. She
she was putting people through through no some crazy times
and that she ran up against Coco Golf and Coco
for being twenty one years old, uh and absolute stud
you know. She had to kind of have a tendency
(46:15):
to kind of crumble and get rattled, but she kept calm,
cool and collected. Dropped the first set to Sabolenca seven
to six, and I mean really it was a battle
boy back and forth, but she did a good job
hanging in there, and it was so wow that really
came undone, just just unforced errors and just just dropped
(46:35):
the set. So shout out to Coco. She's the first
ever woman in tennis history to rally from one set
down to win their first two majors. So now it
was cool to see. And honestly, like, I mean, look,
I speak a little French, not very good French, just
the wee weeze of the world, you know, and uh
(46:55):
was cool to be engolfed in them. I don't think
we ever talked women's tennis here on this pot, yes,
but that was something that was just like just reading
the comments and people just saying like, come on, Coco,
you got this.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
Everybody's pushing for her.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
Yeah, And ironically she defeated sab Linka before, so you know,
in the final, so that's good for her. I like
to see the rivalries is.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
I don't think smallow ribbery. I was just about to
say it it sounds like a rivalry.
Speaker 3 (47:21):
No, I mean I'm hoping something with rivalry got to
go both ways right, like like, yeah, we got to
get a split series somewhere. But again, it was it
was cool on a Saturday morning before I went to
work to kind of just be following the French opened.
They call it the rolling Garrows Garro maybe little French ass.
Speaker 2 (47:41):
We we.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
Again somebody listening just rolling their eyes talking about the
argant Americans. Not a sports talk show. We can talk whatever.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
We want, right, I'm just yeah, that's right. It's a
big island talk show.
Speaker 3 (47:57):
I'm not claiming to be an expert. I'm just saying,
go Coco, all right, I will. And when I saw that,
I went and had some Cocoa pubs and some Coco
peples right there.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
Yeah, it's for you, Coco.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Yeah. It's not often I'm over here waving a little
American flag, but I was like, all right, go take
her out, you know, especially doing on forward soil. You know,
I don't know where all all the tennis majors are.
Speaker 2 (48:21):
And it's been what ten years years something an American winner.
Speaker 3 (48:25):
Look, I picked up a tennis racket one time. I
wasn't very good. That's why I'm sitting on this podcast
with you. But I can only imagine, you know, going
from grass to clay to you know, cement to just
playing on these different circus different.
Speaker 2 (48:37):
Yeah, it's different. They're like going from real grass to
astro turf.
Speaker 3 (48:41):
Yeah, I'm much faster on the turf, but I love
the smell of the grass man. You can't beat that,
plus the salt when you get tackled. So yeah, I
could protect himself out there.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
You know.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
Hopefully he's feeling good. And I'm just proud of you
for getting up early too. Hopefully you can see some results.
And if you do, you take the photo or video. Man,
let's post it on the big Onlin sports talk show
page and let people know you guys are grinding. Let
let the big I even know who's coming for him
right there, Like.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
I mean, I'll do that tomorrow when I put them up.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Well, I'm proud of you, man, Like again, you don't
just talk to talk, You're walking to walk with him.
And I'm glad he asked you to get up there
and do it with him.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
Yeah, Like, if I'm gonna do it, what did you
do it to? Dad? I'm like that that's a big thanks.
Speaker 3 (49:22):
Skin on the rowing machine right there, bro, And like this,
when you get up early, and do a workout. Everything
else comes easy. You're just going to earn money when
you're going to work. Yeah, walking in everything else is
easy when you when you get up before, you absolutely
have to. So I'm proud of big.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Dog and yeah, don't talk but killing me. So man,
it's been a while, it's been a while since I
went on a trademill.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
Well, let me ask you you guys, you guys warm
up these stretch because you yes, have to, you.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
Know, yes, you forget up about four thirty, we stretch them.
We start about five nice.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
All right, Well, look I'm and we do.
Speaker 2 (50:04):
I told him, gets a couple of breedings, you know,
twenty deep breaths, get get your bod flowing, you know,
stretch out, make sure you have me. Just don't blow
while you're running treadmill.
Speaker 3 (50:16):
You're saying that about him, but you really say that
about you.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
It's me. It's me.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
I'm gonna do boxles today. I was like, I don't
want to hear it. I don't care. It's your so fun.
Nobody told you get up that early.
Speaker 2 (50:31):
But I'm gonna be I'm gonna be a trooper. I'm
gonna get up and let's let's do this even though
my body's just killing me.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
My body, my body telling me every.
Speaker 3 (50:44):
Day he's saying, don't touch me. It's like you said,
you worem up, you take care.
Speaker 2 (50:54):
Of me, man, damn mostly fifty.
Speaker 3 (50:59):
Well, every day is a blessing and I don't know. Look,
these are the days you're gonna be like, I'm glad
I did this same thing. Where you coach your daughter,
you got your son there. It's got to feel good
for you to have your kids be motivated to work.
Some kids they got that what I call the h
and S, the hanging neck syndrome. They be looking at
their phone like this all day. You know what I mean.
They don't they're not get asking. The only actual they
(51:21):
do is is getting up and walking to class.
Speaker 2 (51:24):
And a lot of the greats that became greats they
did they got pushed, you know, mom, and Ali got
pushed for being a good boxer. Kobe got pushed he
became a great basketball player. Jordan got pushed, samee.
Speaker 3 (51:39):
Pushed around the pistons. H yeah, yeah yeah. So no,
I mean, you're absolutely right, and that's it's good to
have that to fall back on as well. And again
you leave by example, that's a huge part right there.
You're not just hawking. You're not talking to Adam, You're
talking with him. You're even will and that that goes
a long way. I'm telling you, I never knew my dad, right,
(52:00):
so I'm like, I have that coach mindset and really
just try to come from experience without having that yourself.
That's a big deal. That's where the heart comes in.
That's where that determination, that great that grind really solidifies
your mindset for when it's game day. So I'm proud
of you.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
Yeah, my dad was the same. He never pushed me
to do anything. He was more of like a mechanic
kind of guy than wasn't involved in sports, so he
didn't know too much about sports. You never pushed me away.
I'm pushing my son right now because I know what
it takes to get better because the ship, the stuff
(52:38):
I've been when truing high school that was it was
so comedic. The way things are now, it's it's crazy.
So I'm glad I can see see what's the trends
to be a great, great athlete.
Speaker 3 (52:53):
He's gonna pay dividends. I have no doubt, you know.
I can already tell the way you glow and light
up about it. But again, please tell him, I said
old till summers. I said, hello, but be good, be
safe man, I'm proud of you. Have a great night.

a bowling air like today, I might get I might
get another bowling ball. I want to get into bowling again. Man,
maybe some bowlers out bling.
Speaker 2 (53:31):
You did pretty good, But man.
Speaker 3 (53:32):
I'm thinking I was about a house ball. Wait till

my hook on. Well, let's get a cheet whould get
out of your brother though? Three two one?
