Speaker 1 (00:00):
Join us at eight o'clock as part of the new
lineup of weekly meetings eight o'clock on Monday. Then for
that and at eight thirty we'll go lock in and
Peter will be able to tell you.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
All about that.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
We will taste the wines lot as a live stream
the Wine Ninjas, and if you're new to it and
you want to join us, please do. And then at
eight thirty we stop the live stream. This is what
my plan anyway, We will stop the live stream after
all tasting and talking, and then we'll have a private
Google meeting, hangout and continue to drink and talk nonsense

(00:35):
for the rest of the evening. So if you like wine,
if you like coffee and wine, you're in the right country.
I thought this meaning was quite funny as well. But
join us on Monday for the Portugal Good Morning Wine
Club single variety wines under a tenor will be trying

(00:55):
those live on air between eight and eight thirty, and
then a lock in at eight thirty. Well, will continue
to drink and talk and have some fun as we've
been doing since twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Can you believe it?

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Amazing it's been going since the lockdown. It was a
perfect response being locked in their homes and we really
got to know each other and bond the wine ninjas
really lovely to this day, very closely bonded.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Right, let's get on with the Bondia daily.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Then news where the language and culture and well being
here in Portugal And the first, the first thing I
want to go to is the is another prize weld
done Portugal, another world prize punching way above our weight
in terms of population. Isn't it amazing this tiny country

(01:41):
really getting on for what eleven million inhabitants and scooping
all these lovely awards, another one wellbeing news and other
awards at another topping another table, well in the top
three anyway, this though, this is thank you to Portugal
Business News, who we haven't featured before.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
For covering this.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I did see snippets of this on social media and
on social media. The obligatory, the obligatory image is always
the lady with the massive with the massive What am
I going to say with the massive loaves of bread
in the back in the foreground, And I'm thinking to myself, well,

(02:24):
actually that looks like the price for the largest bread
as well in the world. The way this photograph is
made with the perspective. You see what I mean. You've
seen that picture before, haven't you. With the lady at
the bottom. There massive loads of bread that take three
old ladies presumably to lift them across the bakery. And
it was reported in the Portuguese American Journal.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Actually it's a.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Bit more news there there is in the Portugal Business News.
Portugal Business News says Portugal won the prize for the
best organic bread in the world at the World Bakery
Championship in Italy. Now you're up against stiff competition, are
you not When you go to Italy and you're talking
about food and you're competing on food. Italians, I think,
among a few a few nationalities who understandably claim to

(03:10):
have the best food in the world, Portugal has the
best organic and nutritional bread in the world. So it's
not just organic, it's nutritional as well. Often those two
go together, don't they cute? Peter knits your own musically
jokes coming up, vegetarian jokes and a bit of vegan
bashing from Peter as well if he's had a few
coffees this morning. Look at this member on YouTube for

(03:31):
twenty three months. Thank you very much to do. Yeah,
twenty two plus one right there, Yes, incredible. Thank you
for your support to Duck in that department and in
others as well.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
The Sea GEP Championship, yes, not any old championship, the
Psygep Sea GEP, the Failure International, the Padadia Pajalado, so
they were up against Italians on you know, on ice
cream as well, Gilati, is that right? Distinguish the Padlia
Dish Bakery with the award of the best organic and
nutritional bread in the world. No less, according to the

(04:05):
celebrity bakers, the Portuguese bread contains the flavors of the
Cella the Strella. That's some yellow snow, isn't it, thus
obtaining the name Rosa Neglra, meaning black rose. That is
the name of one of the most iconic regions of
the Cella Distrella mountain range in central Portugal. Until this moment,
I didn't realize or no that black rose a part

(04:25):
of a niche in the Sera Distrella mountains. There, So
well done to the Padlia dioch Maybe there's a bit
more information on Portuguese American Journal on social media. Look
and Jackie also a member for tour that flew by,
didn't it Jackie Wow criikee. All right, thank you very

(04:46):
much Jackie. As well, Portugal has the best organic bread
in the world made. Oh and if you are a
member on YouTube and I haven't made you a member
of the Portugal club as well, do let me know.
You should be able to get into gmpvip dot com
by virtue of being a supporter over on YouTube as well.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
So thanks t Duck and Jackie on.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
That Portugal has the best or gatting red in the world.
As we've just discovered. The International Baking Competition, typically referred
to as Bread in the City Bakery World Cup is
one of the most prestigious global baking competitions. As part
of that ice Cream and Patisserie World Competition the artisan gelato, pastry, chocolate,

(05:27):
bakery and coffee industries. Okay, so it's an industry prize.
The championship attracts top tier professionals excuse me, and showcases
innovative techniques, trends and artistry in the bakery World. SEAGEP
is held on you in January at It's in Rimeny
Remeny Expost.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Center and attracts professionals from all over the world.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
So well done Padolia dish for winning that prize. There,
sho you ever look at some weather? Now I need
to remove those things from the screen there. Thank you
as well, Portuguese American Journal as well on that reporting
and not something I've seen anywhere else. Actually is quite
often the case, isn't it Portugal scooping prizes all over? Oh,
let's just do this quickly as well?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Well?

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Being then the best countries for a Comfortable retirement number three?
And we're not surprised, are we?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Now?

Speaker 1 (06:16):
We're quite We're quite used to it seeing these sorts
of prizes. What's also interesting is to see who else
figures in here?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Finland?

Speaker 1 (06:25):
I mean, who'd have thought retired to Finland for a
comfortable retirement?

Speaker 2 (06:30):
I really like this. Walter Duval is a.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Facebook public post, so I feel okay sharing it here
in the public domain as well. This is how not cynical,
but how less a fair And we're just just so
over it, aren't we? Winning prizes around the world. Is
Portugal best countries for a comfortable retirement? According to someone
in brackets, Switzerland is first. I don't think I've seen

(06:54):
that before. Switzerland first, New Zealand second, that's understandable, isn't
it an Australia all figuring in the top five, Spain
at number five, Australiat number four, and Port you've got
number three. And then we have a Canada, Denmark, nether Netherland, Sweden, Luxembourg, Finland.
Haven't figured on Finland. Has anyone considered Finland for retirement?
Who might be watching Thailand you can understand at seventeen

(07:16):
country Belgium eighteen, Mexico and Panama at nineteen and twenty.
They're often top suspects, aren't they for retirement? I imagine
I might retire myself at some point in my life
to France at twenty one, Philippines twenty two, Costa Rica
twenty three, United Kingdom people retiring to the United Kingdom,
not just people from the United Kingdom twenty four, Cyprus

(07:40):
at twenty five, Iceland, Malaysia, Dominican Republic. Nice place to retire,
Singapore got a few, a few bob to retiring Singapore
twenty nine. United States, Yeah, retiring to the United States
number thirty, Germany at thirty one, Brazil twenty two, Sorry
thirty two, Turkey, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Croatia and finally Poland

(08:04):
there but number three that's Portugal, so well done. A
great place to come and enjoy a retirement Portugal.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
I'm planning at all?

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Oh okay, talk of Italy and Switzerland in the chat
then Pam planning a tour of Italy next year. I've
never been there, although my brother lives there. I've enjoyed
my couple of visits to Italy.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Tea duck.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Also, I think James wants to get over to Italy.
Likes Italy, doesn't he?

Speaker 2 (08:27):
And as a new edition of The Old Guy in
Europe just published, he published it.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I've got what's that message? And then it disappeared. I
think it's the moving episode everybody, because of course he
told us about the plans to move finally from Eddie
Saylor up to Espinho. I've been to Remin, he says.
We took the train there from Florence when we visited
San Marino.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
That sounds nice, doesn't it?

Speaker 1 (08:47):
And Pam a visit to Lisbon. Day out in Lisbon yesterday?

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Where are you? Where have you gone? There? You are? Hello?

Speaker 1 (08:56):
We had a day out in Lisbon yesterday. Couldn't listen
in as the show no longer fits in with bus
journey times. Well, we'll have to speak to the bus
company about that, won't we. And thank you for your
introduction to Emma. Really nice talking to Emma earlier this week.
And you say you went on a boat trip on
the river.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
It's lovely. We were lucky with the weather yesterday in
the capitol. That's great.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
And Shirley, Switzerland is only at the top since Elon
revealed that he and his Ostrian friends have their gold
hidden their gold here.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
That's try I missed. It's quite a good guess as well,
isn't it in Switzerland?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Oh? I see that's a that's a layer upon layer
of jokes and digs at Elon Musk there. I think
Peter all right, So coach Turner was in one of
our well being captains. And I'm sure we'll have another
new video from Coach Turner soon and they'll go into
the growing old disgracefully.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
The God Squad resources at the Portugal.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Club Bondie gumpas if congratulate yourselves, you've reached Friday, bit
soggy here in Hertfordshire, but need some exercise, so an
umbrella aided walk, not as a walking stick, I suspect,
although I can see you as Steed from the Avengers
for Coffee is on the cards.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Don't forget the bowler hat as well, and it's a
bondier from Seville in Spain.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
I can't remember where Hernius Maximus where Michael Heron will
be calling us from in Spain, but he'll tell us
when he gets here. So Byberian business this morning, and
the idea of an Iberian phone and is back on
the table thanks to Michael.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
He'll be with us in about five minutes.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Looking forward to chatting with him, and I think you'll
find his idea exciting as I do.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
JP. Bondia JP and Porto. Hello to you.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
That's clearly Porto in your YouTube or your Google picture there.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Thank you very much JP for being with us.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
And it was a bondier gumpas from Jackie early doors
animal uglier gumpers from Tea Duck as well. I'm hearing,
not seeing, as I just got up and needed a cuppa,
so I could make a rude gesture at Jackie now
and she will not see it, although she probably is
looking at her screen now in anticipation of that. Going
back to Italy, we spent two weeks in Venice more

(11:04):
than twenty years ago. Definitely visit the other islands like
Morano and Old Morano.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
That's where the glasses, isn't it? And Sam Michell as well.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
I love Italy, says Tea Duck, my favorite country to
visit in Europe.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
I wouldn't want to live there too crazy for me.
And I'm an a Daliano as well. What's this?

Speaker 1 (11:22):
You'll love the food, Pete is telling you, Pam, and
you'll love it in Oh, you'll love it anyway in Italy?

the day or for a week.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Such a beautiful.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
City by boat, I can hear music talking of Venice
and the waterways as well. And I don't know why,
but I just feel craving for a cornetto suddenly as well. Bondia,
says James Bondia Gambus fully sixty coge COmON Vaal. So yeah,

(12:18):
bakery Portugal windsor prize for best organic and nutritional bread.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Are there a world prize?

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Bobby, you might be proud of Portugal for Let's go
to the Portugal News then for a bit of weather
coverage this morning. They've got a nice summary of the
weather we can look forward to over the weekend. A
nice little potted view of the weather the Portugal News.

(12:45):
I've been really enjoyed doing my new snippets on the
Expats Portugal town Hall.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Last night.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
I mentioned the seventeen meter wave that was recorded. That's
nearly fifty six feet. If you're waxing your board as
we speak, come on over to naz who doesn't like
to wax their board first thing in the morning. I
can see Michael Heron smiling in the green room. Or

(13:11):
it's just like a warm pair of slippers as Michael
being back here. Yes, fifty six foot wave recorded in
Nazare and other new snippets, including to spoon or not
to spoon last night. That's this culture story is running
and running, and I've managed to write one of my
favorite headlines ever for the Portugal Resident, how do you

(13:34):
knosh your Nata?

Speaker 2 (13:36):
So enjoy boom so.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Yes, he doesn't like to know you Nata first thing
in the morning as well. Jane says good morning to
you as well. I don't think Michael is going to
be able to speak by the time he gets onto
the screen in a couple of minutes. Let's have a
look at that weather from the Portugal News. Then it's
going to be like this, Michael. If this I that
you're going to talk about, if we pull it off.

(14:04):
He doesn't like to pull it off first thing in
the morning, Lisburn. Saturday is to be mainly dry, with
prolonged periods of sunshine and highs sixteen degrees. On Sunday
some light showers of forecast, with highs of fifteen degrees
and loads of nine degrees. Monday is to be dry
and bright, and from Tuesday some light cloud cover is expected,
with an average higher fifteen degrees. So I think we've

(14:25):
still got some rain to look forward to us It
were but a break in the rain and wind as well.
Wet and windy, and the weather's not too great the north.
The dry weather is to continue on Saturday with highs
of eighteen degrees in the north loads of two. On Sunday,
a wet and gray day's forecast with highs of fourteen degrees.
Sounds like Saturday is the day to get out and about.

prolonged periods of cloud cover our forecast for Saturday, oh
when temperatures are going to peak at seventeen On Sunday,
chants of rain temperatures peaking at sixteen Monday, chance of
rain is to drop and the rest of the week,

(15:27):
we'll see advertise of eighteen to a dry week in
the south as well. From Monday my data heavy cloud
cover with sunny periods forecast over the weekend, with temperatures
peaking at highs of twenty one in Madata and dropping
to loads of sixteen a low of sixteen if only
here on the Silver Coast. From Tuesday, cloud cover to
less than slightly and temperatures to drop highs of nineteen

(15:50):
in my data, and the assortis finally thank you Portugal
News for this. Heavy showers expected on Saturday tomorrow, but
these are to ease on Sunday, when the temperatures are
to reach highs of eighteen degrees. From Monday, the rain
is to return in the Azora and will remain for
the rest of the week.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
So a wet week in prospect for the Azores. The Azores.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Right, let me just make sure I've covered everything I
wanted to cover. Michael Heron, Hernius Maximus back and joining
us live from Spain. I think that's all the pictures
I wanted to share with you. Oh, one quickie, one quickie.
Actually there is a crowd. This is the daily deal
to that. Actually, if you like the eight thousand kicks

(16:34):
shoes made of hemp. You can't smoke them. We did
cover that. That's how the idea started. A shoe you
could smoke, but actually our hemp shoes. And they're doing
a Kickstarter. See what they did their Kickstarter. It's a
trainer company, shoe company. I've got a wallet as well,
made of hemp. Meet the Trekker, a stylish waterproof sneaker.

(16:54):
Now I quite like this because they look like a
trekking shoe. Quite good for rough terrain if I'm going
to go out with the dogs.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
They're going to.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
Retail one hundred and sixty five and you can get
them if you go over the early bird Kickstarter special.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
You can get what sixty six dollars off. They're doing
a dollar price. That's interesting.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
The Ultimate Waterproof Travel shoot are coming to Kickstarter, so
you can get them at the early bird price. I
think that's and they'll be released in February, and I've
got a link for that if you want to know more. Actually,
IMM just very very quickly, sorry Michael, to keep you,
but I just want to show the page where we've

(17:32):
got the I've got a running nose, can't believe it.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Blimineck. I'm gonna hide behind the microphone until I get
a chance.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
To to wipe my face. Right, Okay, this is eight
thousand kicks and if I take that off the screen,
you'll be able to see it. We're going to be
starting with proper Good Morning Portugal programming with Michael in
just a moment.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
But yeah, there they are.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
That is the that's counting down. Then eighteen days. Just
over eighteen days, you can get the ninety nine dollar price.
I like that shoe powered by hempitzers on the side
and it's got their They're nice and easy step in design.
You see that isn't that great step in system? Fully
water proof, go swimming in those and kick water like that.

(18:18):
They're vegan and sustainable unseen shoe comfort.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
What that means.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
But what I love so much is how here the founder,
Bernardo works with his grandmother on this artilia with over
fifty years experienced in textiles, a responsibly sourced production facility
in China where people are averaging a salary of seven
hundred dollars to seven fifty dollars, and a fourth generation

(18:44):
factory finishing. I think it's a finishing that takes place
here in Portugal. So well done, eight thousand kicks, brilliant stuff.
Good luck with that Kickstarter there. I'll put the link
in the chat in just a moment for that. But
let's welcome a dear mate of ours.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Where's this?

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Where's my sound? I need to give him big round
of applause. He cannot join join us, Oh I see
what I'm doing wrong here? He cannot join us on
the screen without a warm hand on his opening.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Here he is

Speaker 1 (19:10):
