Speaker 2 (01:41):
Hey listen, you gotta fight coming up?

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
March twenty ninth right found in Blue WBC Final Eliminators
what they're calling it. M But before we get into
all that last year for fights, last one being November
on the Tyson Paul card, let me ask you, what
are three things you learned about yourself throughout the four

(02:05):
different fights that you had last year?

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Mm?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Okay, well, the first fight is uh, the first fight
that I had, I would say that I need to
work on Mike Tyson rendition a little more.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
The second fight it was just uh more so of
tightening up on like the defense in a little in
the way. My third fight getting back into my boxing
fundamentals because I kind of got a little too happy
with knocking guys out over and over and over. And
then the fourth fight it was like just maintaining this

(02:44):
boxing funda mental but now it's time to add on
and add on.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
You're gonna see come more soenty name.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Okay, all right, And how has life been outside of
the ring, as that can have more of an impact
on what you do in there than anything else.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Oh yeah, definitely, definitely.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
You know, I've been on a plant based diet for
about eight years now, but I have my little guilty
pleasures because it's like this this unhealthy vegan food as well.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Too, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
So I've kind of like was like indulgent in that
a lot, like I would say that like the past
two years. But I've been eating cleaner now and it's
been showing, and my weight cut has been showing, and
my energy has drow, my power and everything, and I
feel much better.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
So I feel like that's one of.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
The major things that I feel like has been a
change and my whole approach of just boxing and just
in life period, Like I feel so much better. But yeah, man,
that and then being you know, put through certain adversities
and just personal thing is going on in life. I've
noticed how strong my mental is and I continue to

(04:00):
prove myself, like why I'm in a place where the
line might is only at points like I'm at where
I'm supposed to be, and I'm made For a lot
of guys, they're not like they're gonna be talented and
they might have all this that, but they're not ready
to be in that limelight. But the things I've been
going through, man, I'm like, dang, I'm pretty mentally strong, bro,

(04:22):
so I'm ready for this.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yeah. And I was gonna say, because listen, you can't
buy fame at a grocery store and put it in
a bag and walk out, Like nobody's ever prepared for that.
So you know, you just kind of take it as
it comes. And you know, hearing that just adds to
the maturity that I already know that you've had, you know,
throughout these years coming into this point. You're in a

(04:45):
great position now and you're that much closer to a
tider shot. Yes, have you had a moment to stop
for a second, look in the mirror and tell yourself
this moment right here is where I've always wanted to
be since the start.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Not yet, not yet, not yet, I haven't accomplished the
things that I want to accomplished. Yet you know, one of
the main things that I've I mean, you know, I
don't get me wrong, I've done off of myself. You know,
Ring Magazine and ESPN Prospect of the Year for year
twenty twenty three. You know, all of these knockouts, and
my fan base is just growing and growing and turn

(05:24):
celebrities knowing who I am and whatnot. So don't get me wrong,
I've done well for myself. But I'm not patting myself
on the back yet. I still one of my main goals,
short term goals right now is becoming a world champion
and being an eighth world champion to come from Brownsville,
brook in New York. My man Mike Tyson in the
back over there shout out, you know what I mean.

(05:45):
So like that's that's like a big accomplishment for me.
But it's just the one of it's the one admitting
and uh so, yeah, man, I'm not looking up and
patter of myself on the back just yet.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
We got work to do.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
And I only say that because sometimes times, uh, the
when we get the accomplishment is not as satisfying and
and when you don't think about the journey to get there.
While you're in it, you kind of miss it, Yeah,
which is kind of why I brought that up.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
That's true because if you actually think about it, you
look back and be like, man, I really did work
my asshole to get here.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Like you sometimes, let's say, when you you.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
Get to your goal, and let's say if it comes
easy to you, you're like, like, uh, you know it
was not as you know, the satisfactory isn't there, But
you got to think about all the hard work you
did to really appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah, no doubt. And uh, and I've seen on social
media you're taking a little bit more of a rocky
style approach, uh to some of your training. Doesn't feel
like maybe people aren't taking you taking your run to
this position that you're in as serious as they should,
and you see yourself as maybe a long shot underdog

(07:00):
still at this.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Point right now.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yes, I definitely see that. I definitely see that as
right now, you know, I feel like.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Uh, I feel like, uh, people they're just trying to
just go off of people got phased or whatever and
trying to like downplay things that I've done.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
But the real boxers, they know, the real boxers or
the real people that have an eye for the game.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
They know they know that they see something special when
they see me.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
And uh, and I also put hell working like like
just day and night, waking up for four o'clock in
the morning, working out three times a day, and just
just working my ass off. Like I don't feel like
there are people in this world in the sport of
boxing that are hungry as hungry with me. It's not

(07:52):
too many of them. There's probably a handful of guys
that really crave the want of they fight and be
the best, you know what I'm saying, and do whatever
it takes to do so.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
But a lot of these dudes, they're ducking this guy,
ducking that guy.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
And I just want to fight. I just want to
just be the best. And yeah, these dudes, they're trying
to create a narrative to trying to keep me the
underdult so they can create an excuse so that they
don't have to fight me.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Hey, March twenty ninth, you know you're fighting, uh, Enrique
Vivas twenty three and three twelve KOs. What will be
the what will the fans be saying after your fight?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Oh, that he's ready for a world title shot.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
And I can't wait to see Bruce Hrew Carington and
fight the rest of the world type the world champions
in the freesway division. That's what I think that people
will be saying. Enrique Vivas, he is a great contender,
He's a great fighter. He's for guys like Edward Obias,
Joe Gonzalez. You know, throws a lot of punches, very durable.

(08:56):
Dude ever been stopped twenty three and three record. So
there's nothing that I'm looking past whatsoever. But it's for
sure something I'm looking through. I cannot wait to show
the difference levels with my skill set compared to his
and everybody else that he's fought, and that right there
will make a case to show like oh no, like

(09:17):
this guy is really a problem and I'm.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Going to start investing in this dude even more. And yeah, man, I.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Just want to continue to make a case for myself
that I'm the best fit the way in the division.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
All right.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
And then lastly, looking through right w B C Chap
Stean Fulton R. Yeah, when I hear that matchup or
I perk up, I get you know, I stood up
straight and I'm like, oh, that's the one that I
want to see. Yeah, are you let me see do

(09:51):
you think that even with some of the politics that
still kind of linger around because he is with the PBC,
that regardless, that that fight can happen for you?

Speaker 3 (10:04):
I'm sorry say that that question again.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
So, like, because of the small politics that still kind
of linger around with PBC and all that, do you
think that's a fight that still can still happen for you,
let's say even this year.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Yeah, I mean I would hope.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
So I think a fight that like that this year
is very possible. You know, where we're getting closer and
closer to make myself a mandatory for the WBC. This
fight in particular is uh, you know, one of the eliminators,
so it's the final liminator.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Excuse me, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
No, it's me being mandatory for the WBC can definitely
push the envelope to make this fight happen this year
for sure.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Uh uh. Stylistically, man, this.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Would be a great fight for the god, for for
the fans, for the Northeast. You know, boxer versus box
So you know, we have I feel like there's certain
things that we're doing around It's pretty sim but I
just know, just bring way more to the table man
when it comes to just IQ and power and it
just approach period discipline.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
I'm I know, I'm a total package and I.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Would just love to test myself against a great fighter
like Stephen Bolton. Man, he's the most accomplished champion in
the division. And I feel like you got to do
nothing but respect that. You gotta respect that he does.
He does, he doesn't ring and the only loss he
has against a great fighter like now anyway, he's no
slosh whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
I would love to fight against.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Him, Yeah, no doubt. All right, listen, shoot you, I
appreciate your time. I wish you the best of luck
twenty ninth and speak to you soon.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Thank you. Appreciate it all right, man, it's the box
of us.
