All Right, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for tuning in
Boxing Rush our show fights atw dot com. I'm here
with lightweight contender looking for or I should I say
looking for but heading into the biggest.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Fight I would say of his career so far.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Raymond Murataya twenty eight years old, twenty two and oh
seventeen KOs.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
What's going on, Rayman? How you doing?

Speaker 4 (01:57):
What's signing? Man? I'm doing good. Just just get ready
for this fight, man, Nothing nothing new, you know what?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Man?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, So you're fighting for the IBF interim
lightweight title.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
The FULD champion is vasilly Lo Minchenko.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
But before we get into any of that stuff, you
had an interesting twenty twenty four as you picked up
three victories. One was a close but unanimous decision over
Tevin Farmer. What did you learn overall from those experience?
From those experiences and and what did you learn overall
about yourself?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Possibly?

Speaker 4 (02:35):
I just gotta I just gotta be more and more
and more aggressive. And my my approach from the beginning
with that fight, I set back too much and I
think it was thinking too much. But uh, that's one
of those way you just you just learned from and
and just keep it going.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Man.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
The mand detective is to is to win. So I
did that and and it was on to the next man.
And you see how I I just keep improving with
my with my fights as they go on. So that's
that's kind of what you.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Saw, okay. And And do you think that.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Maybe a little bit was you know, Tevin Farmer and
all his experience and being a former world champion, that
maybe that contributed a little bit to you know, overthinking
some of the things.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
In the in the early part of the fight.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yeah, I think his experience had had some of it
to do with it. Also he he knew how to
how to survive in that ring, and then it was
pretty slick.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Okay, all right.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
And and just you know, for people that that may
not be familiar with with you, who is Raymond outside
of the ring? Because I see, you know, on your
social media's and stuff. There's a lot of like boxing
related stuff, but not too much on the personal side.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
So who are you outside of the ring?

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Outside? I mean a pretty pretty simple gun man. I
just like to like to work out, I think right
now to my point in my time where it's all
about boxing right now, and I'm really really focusing on
that right now and just focusing on getting better and better.
But I saw, I'm pretty simple man. I'd like to

(04:12):
just travel on vacation, hang on my family friends, just
a simple ship.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I was gonna say, do you do you go into
costco with your gloves on?

Speaker 3 (04:22):
That's all I want to know, all right, All right,
going into so I know you trained out of the
Robert Garcia Boxing Academy. They just moved to Morano Valley
from the videos I've seen, looks like a beautiful location.
How has the relationship with you and I'm gonna say

(04:44):
teen Garcia because it's like Robert and Beta and you know,
the grandfather, father and everybody.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
It's a family business there.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
But how has that relationship evolved since you first getting
with them up to now?

Speaker 4 (04:58):
It's been it's been great being to be honest with you,
those guys they really care for you, and they're always
looking out for you guys, for for us actually, So
it's just I mean, ever since I've been there, they
they've seen that I was I was serious about this,
that I was trained really hard, and I really wanted this.

(05:18):
So just to have their support in them then behind
me has been huge for me and my career. So
I think it's just nothing. But great Man can't. I can't.
I can't believe I'm a part of that team. I
can't wait to see where it goes.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Okay, all right, now, your opponent on May tenth is
our abdu Lev. He's twenty and one, twelve KOs. His
only loss was to Devin Hatey, and that was the
only fight he fought in the US.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
All all the other ones were overseas.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
How is it preparing for a guy they only had
really one fight in the US. But he's fought Leonardes
and a few others, but he has the high level
experience that you seek, Like, how is it preparing for
somebody like that?

Speaker 4 (06:09):
I mean, it's for me, it's always it's always fighting
to fighting to win. So I'm I'm gonna trade my best,
I'm gonna be in my best shape. I was like that, man,
you just gotta you gotta be ready for him and
and just be in shape.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Really.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Uh, I've been. I've been focusing on my game, paciceing
my game and learning and learning with each with each fight.
So so I'm ready for this man. I know he's
gonna come to fight, and and I'm ready to fight too.
So I think it's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Going all right.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
And then this fight is for the IVF interim title,
as I mentioned before, but it could also be for
the full title if Lomanchenko decides to hang up the gloves?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Right?

Speaker 3 (06:52):
How do you contain all of the emotions that come
along with thinking about all those things leading up to fight?
How do you contain all that you yourself?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yes, it's a lot, it's a lot to take in,
but I gotta stay focused on on this fight. I
just gotta stay focusing in and with the wind and
doors opening, you know what I mean. So so I'm
just I'm just locked in right now, just stay focused
and uh, and just just preparing for for whatever whatever
he brings.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Is there anyone in particular that you may lean on
more during those times where you feel like you might
be a little overwhelmed.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
I'm pretty pretty good at at dealing with it. I
think I'm just the fact that I'm that I'm like
headed towards a big, a big opportunity. I think that's
just what keeps me, keeps me focus and locked in.
But I'm pretty I'm pretty well at handling it.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Okay, all right, and listen, you come into San Diego
May tenth, Pachanga Arena. What's should fans expect and what
is the lasting impression you want to leave on them
when they see you fight on that night?

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Just a great fight, man. I love putting on the
show for the fans, and and skill wise too, man,
for all these for the younger guys coming there, just
to see a different a different skill set that I
have and and just be able to learn from from
how I fight. So I think it's just inspiring everybody
and putting on a great show for.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
The fans and not taking your gloves to Costco. Got
it all right, Listen, Raymond, I appreciate your time, I
wish you the best of luck, and I look forward
to seeing you fight that night, right.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Glue Man, appreciate.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
You all right, thank you.
