Speaker 1 (00:00):
Success in life company?

Speaker 2 (00:01):
What is it you want? Give your best effort, show
me what you got. If you want to be a success,
you gotta have.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
It's the burg Pathyany Coaches Shoe presented by Kobe and
Shepherd Reelders and First Community Mortgage, a competitive combo championship results.
And here's your host, Jeff Siedel and Muller head football
coach Hurt pathiany.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
W Mooe and the Moller Broadcasting Network present the Burt
Bathyani Show, which features the head coach of the Moeller
Football Crusaders, Berg Pathyani. The show is sponsored by Komy
and Shepherd Realtors. I'm Jeff Schneiedel class of nineteen eighty
four also with Kobe and Shepherd Realtors to handle all
your real estate needs. And it is championship week here

(00:48):
at Molar High School and it's always a pleasure to
welcome in the head coach of the Moeller Crusaders.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Burt Pathyany Coach. How we doing this week?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Du Well, we got another another broadcast. That's a good thing.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
So hopefully we can have a postseason one next week.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
It's a great meeting for sixteen weeks. Yeah, this is tremendous.
So coach, I say, Championship week, I think there's certainly
a really good positive vibe here at the school and
I think everyone kind of galvanizes with that, and you know,
we're right there on the doorstep to possibly bring home
our tenth state championship, which is huge, you know, coach

(01:25):
fourteen and one GCL champs. You know, I look at
it's probably the you know, we're looking at this final game.
I've seen an interview where you say it's finite. I
mean it kind of it puts the end of the games,
but it's memories you're gonna treasure forever. And I guess
really the interpretation I get is it's.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
The journey to get to this point. It's really cool.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
We're really blessed to be in a spot where we
know the end is near. You know, like there's a
lot of teams where.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
You don't know what your last game is.

Speaker 5 (01:56):
That it could come as a shock and it could
be devastating, and you can almost feel like you don't
have closure because you didn't know the end was coming
from that same point. But we'll fortunate enough to be
in a position we know that on Monday, like it's
it's over, right, and and so we're we're we've had
a really good week of practice. Guys who aren't focused,
they're locked in, and I think they kind of realized
that to know, we even made a big deal about it, right,

(02:17):
but you know, you just stay the course, and we
know we didn't change anything different. We were still lifted
on Sunday night and we lifted hard and that's kind
of got our recipe this whole this whole year, but
definitely during the playoffs, and our our players love it too.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
But then Monday was a normal day. Tuesday and normal day, Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
Normal day, and now we're on Thursday for our focused session. Said,
the physical preparation is done, like that's over and it's
now just time to clean everything.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Up and then go attack on Friday.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Good focus as far as just I mean, the realization, hey,
just do your job and the person next you'll do theirs,
and we'll all be good.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
We're a veteran team, so that that part's been a
really a huge blessing where the guys have done it before, right,
Like you have the Roman Masons, the Javern Loves of Foglers,
they handle their business right in the back end, you
have you know a lot of older safeties with Griff
and Lincoln and Cooper like they know, and Roman now
over there, right, so you got four senior DB's back there.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Yeah, it's gonna go well.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Right.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
They give a lot of seniors on the defensive line
with with Will and Bosco and Sternberg and Jonah, so
they all know what they're know what they do, so
we don't have to like really like hey, hone in
and lock in and anything like that.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
They kind of know what to do.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Coaches.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Is gonna be really special for the team, but you
know it's also special for the Moeller Nation.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
The community alumni.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
But really, do I want to give a shout out
to where the previous teams that you know, just they
they didn't get a chance to get to this. But
certainly I'm sure the players and their hearts they're representing,
you know, the guys that kind of paved the way
and led the way for him in recent years. And
you know, the twenty twenty four class of twenty twenty three,
last twenty twenty two. You know, we were in a

(04:03):
tough spot several years ago, Coach Eldon yourself. I mean,
now we're on knocking on the door of a potential
state championship, which I think five years ago.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
No one could fathom this.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
And these guys and your crew are you know, put
us in this position and to be something very very special.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
I'm glad you brought that up with just like the
previous teams, because we do stand on the shoulders of
everyone else that came before us. And our guys have
talked about it before where they they've seen guys like
Joshkatis right, and Ethan and Ethan Coeti, this Jeannetti, also Zalt,
these otherse guys and you get like to now and.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Jordan and Jewett and castle Brock. You think the list just.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Goes on and on and on about all those guys
where their season was cut short before.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
They really Jordan Marshall, I forget. Maybe that's how that
guy was kind of good.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
It is, uh, they they saw the emotion on those
guys' faces and they've carried that on their sleeve.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
I think throughout this whole playoff run.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Oh, it's a cool representation of the whole More Nation community.
And like I said that here at school today on Thursday,
it is just a really good vibe and but it
just also seems like business as usual.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
You just got to take care of things.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
When you get this far, there should be a good vibe, right,
you should be confident, just like Liberty should be confident,
right like they're they're having a great year, and you
know they have a really good football team.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
So I bet the vibe is good at that school
as well.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Right, So it's going to come down to, you know,
the same things that we always talk about is taking
care of the football and you know, eliminating explosive plays
on defense, creating them on offense, and all those analytical
things we focus about.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
That's and we'll talk about those all in Tangy Liberty
Patriots and our second segment. But coming up in the
next segment, we're going to talk about just a little
successful game last week against the Centerville Elks, So coach,
we'll roll through that and our first segment coming up
after this short break. As you're listening to the Bert
Panthey Andy Show, which features a head coach of the

(05:57):
GCL champion and the Regent four champion Molar Fighting Crusaders.
That's both Pathy Andy. I'm Jeff Schneidel with Molar Class
of nineteen eighty four and with Koman Shepherd Wilters who
sponsors the show, and of course you hear it here
on w MOE and the Molar Broadcasting Network. It's time
for another great season on Molar Football and it's always

(06:19):
a good time to buy and sell real estate. Contact me,
Jeff Schneiedil, the voice of the Crusaders but also Molar
class of nineteen eighty four. I can be reached at

Speaker 1 (06:34):

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Transportation for today's state championship game for the Molar Crusaders
has been provided by Mark Sweeney Buick GMC. For all
your automotive needs, It's Mark Sweeney Buick GMC, located minutes
from Molar High School CE class of two thousand, Scott
Sweeney for all your vehicle needs, Go big Mo. You're

(07:03):
listening to the Bird Bathiany Show. It features head coach
of the Bowler Football Crusaders, Bert Bathyani. The show is
sponsored by Kobe and Sheppard Realtors and heard here on
w MOE and the Moler Broadcasting Network. I'm Jeff Schneidel
class of nineteen eighty four coach. We came out on
i'll say a brisk and windy night last Friday night,

(07:24):
and took on the Centerville ex A Princeton High School.
We won the flip, we deferred. They get the ball first,
they get a first down, and our defense stops them
and things started to kind of fall in place. We
get the ball back on our thirty four yard line.
The only thing I'm disappointed is it took a whole
nine seconds for Matt to get the ball to Cooper

(07:47):
to get that ball to the end zone to cover
sixty six yards.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (07:51):
How special was that? A nine seconds?

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Just bam? Yea.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Our guys were pretty confident in the play going into it.
They knew that's what we were going to do, and
we were confident with the look we were going to get,
and you know, Matt saw it and hit it and
then Cooper did the us. But what a great start,
and you know, really got us rolling from that same point.
I mean, then the challenge out for that is just
kind of coming back down to reality and realizing, hey,

(08:17):
this isn't the game yet, right, there's this how many
how many minutes have taken off the clocket, there's still
a ton and we've seen a lot of situations throughout
the year where we've been up, teams have creep back
and you get easiness, so and and same thing with
other I mean we've been down, We've been down the
teams as well, and you just got to come back.
It doesn't you know, what happens in the first quarter

(08:37):
usually doesn't determine the outcome in the game. So give
our guys a lot of credit. We had to be
laser focused from there on out, and I thought they
did a pretty good job.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
That was just that slight that is hop on the central.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Nine seconds, So that was that was pretty special.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
That was really cool.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Well, there was four other ones later on.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
There had well five old played trucks all exactly.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
So the Elks get the ball back, they run for
play and they need the punt.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
We get the ball back, you know, you.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Know, our first play in that second drive fourteen yards.
I think the second play was Tyler running for seven
yards and then back the back of the back holding
penalties and then I think Matt kind of maybe felt
a little bit like had to make those up and
you know, only his third interception of the year and
put the Elks in pretty good territory.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Yeah, I mean, I think we were just a little
that you get the holding call, you get the holding call,
we get the play out there. There was some confusion
with like the sub right there, and I think we
we forced the play to appen a little bit faster
than what we needed. There's a penalty. And then Matt
threw it, you know, probably a little too early, but
if it would have came open, I mean, they blitzed

(09:45):
into it in the back of ran right in the
koopa on the screen. So it was a really good
play call for the play unfortunate and then they got it,
and then that gave him momentum. But that's why I
brought up earlier like the first play doesn't really determine
the outcome of the game, because then we ended up
in a dog you heard, it's like it's seven to seven,
and we gave him that opportunity, right Like, we turned
the ball over in the wed zone and we put

(10:05):
our defense in a bad spot. This is the second
week we've done that, saying next we had the ball
snap over our head, we had a bad punt and
put our defense in a bad spot. But you know,
they got us on a trip play and they scored
seven seven, So that changes the complexion of the game
after that.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
But we were able to come back and respond as
Sam Hamilton, so both tight ends in the first two
touchdowns are each putting one in the end zone on
a pass from Matt so that that.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Was very special.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
And then again the Elks have to punk back to
us and you know, we come back and Tyler Joscelyn
ones one day and now it's it's twenty one to nothing.
We're not even out the first quarter yet, so you
could just kind of feel the vibe like we were
just gonna keep rolling.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
So that that was really that was really cool.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Cole's and night wined all that, but man, you could
just see that our squad was ready to go.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
And that was a vibe throughout warm ups.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
I think offense deve, I think they're all really really
confident with the plan. They're all really confident in their abilities,
and you know it showed with their execution throughout the night.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
So we have a fourteen point lead and then griff
Daily comes up with the interception able to take it
down to the the eleven yard line, and of course
from there, you know, now Landon Adams catches one and.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
That's really the cool thing, Coach.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
It's not. We don't have like a quarterback and like
one receiver, only one guy.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
And that's that's why I think it's so cool.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
I mean, eight different receivers catching balls during the game.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
I mean, I don't know many teams that have that
type we have.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
I mean earlier the years that we've had nine different
guys have a touchdown reception and Matt through six and
they all went to different people. And he's thrown for
over four thousand yards, but we don't have a thousand
yard receiver, which I think is even more kind of
astounding from that standpoint. I give you, if you look
in the NFL and a quarterback stolen for four or
five thousand yards, he has two three thousand yard guys, right,

(11:54):
And we've just been able to distribute it out to everybody.
And you know, Mass's done a good job and everyone
else has done a good job. When their numbers called,
they were able to execute and then go do their job.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
So the Elks get the ball back, it's their down
twenty one. They did get a first down, but then
a fumble were covered by Jonah Hayes, and you know,
again Tyler jos On.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
What a run for forty yards for a touchdown?

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yeah? Is that run those playoffs?

Speaker 1 (12:22):
That's right, that's right, that was a pass.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
That's funny is that play didn't work at all throughout
the week. It never worked.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Of course, one time they got it down, it didn't work.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
One titled good.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Our demo dogs did an awesome job. And I want
to shout out these two guys.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
It was Preston Riley, a freshman linebacker, and then Logan
Pucky of safety. They kept covering it every time to
where on Wednesday, I actually pointed to Logan.

Speaker 6 (12:45):
Not to cover it just so we could complete it
and feel good about it. And we started celebrating on
the field because we finally completed it. So one of
the reasons why it looked like there's so much jubilation
after that play is because it didn't work throughout the
whole week.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Guy, our demo dogs are so good. They covered it.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
That's a cool thing.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
People don't realize, like with that that you know that
it happened when it didn't happen in practice and just
little things like that.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
But there's double dogs have been so awesome throughout the year,
and they're really good players that give great effort.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
And we have a group.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
We just have a squad of guys that give crazy
effort throughout the week. And the young man I mentioned,
Preston Riley's a freshman. We can't trick Preston it.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
Yeah, nothing anything we do he covers. How cool is
that for freshman? I'm sure he probably not the only
one with are there others that are there?

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Rody Hag is killing it.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
You know, he's been a Scout team plighter that or
double Dog of the week multiple times. Kada Noor a
young freshman D lineman. I mean he's ticking off our
old lineman because he's going so hard and there's that
well actually having scuffles. We have been scuffles in the
state semifinals because we have a freshman D tackle playing
so hard or oh why it's making you.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Hate seeing that, don't you wink wink? Like, hey, they're
going hard.

Speaker 5 (14:00):
So I thought it's good that, Like how many teams
can say that?

Speaker 2 (14:02):
How many teams.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Across the country have a freshman D tackle going that
hard and playing that well where the senior offensive line
that's pretty dang good is getting ticked off by it?

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Right, Like that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Most of the time, those kids are just.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
Getting bubbled, and I think it's a great representation of
the depth that's to come from that freshman class.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Who they I mean, they were really really good this
year too. But there's a bunch of them too.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
I mean, we've had so many freshmen that have come
up and joined us for the playoffs, and they've given
great effort every single week. Kadien Lawson's another one. He's
really proud of them. A lot of those guys, like
Andrew Grigi is a sophomore.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
He's been killing it.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
He's been doing an awesome job teaking Cumberland, who's our
special teams monster. He's over there and his job was
he had to be clapper against Saint X and he
gave the best look I think a year. So I
just want to celebrate those guys because they do an
awesome job giving us a good look. And I think
it's a huge X factor that people overlook well.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
And a lot of these seniors were playing as sophomores
and contributing, and you know that, coach, that's what's really
cool this this year. This isn't a one hit wonder,
This isn't a loaded class that all of a sudden
rises above and takes us to the state championship game.
It's been a progression, yes, and again unfortunately some of
the kids that got was just love to have them

(15:28):
get a chance to play in the state championship. We
came up a little bit short, but now we're there.
But I mean again, we got we got youngsters. We
had sophomores that are contributing. I know we talked about
Marino Middleton, yep, you know, kind of like not much expected,
but he earned his way and made some plays, you know,
And there's other sophomores in the mix. And that's that's

(15:49):
what's cool is the program. And I think that's what
people are I don't want to say satisfied with, but
I think that's what they enjoy.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
We're not a one hit wonder.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
We didn't bring in eighty five transfers to try to
get back on the map. I mean it was done
through hard work through the classes.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
And these guys.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
If you look at the bond this senior class has,
it's pretty special. Like there are shows, very tight knit
budget shows, and when you love each other and you're
you're genuine friends with each other, like good things usually
happen because you don't want to let them down. And
we talk about the brotherhood here at MOLL. I bet
if there's one word that people uses, like alumni and

(16:26):
students use more than anything, it's the brotherhood.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
That's how they described this place.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
And what's interesting to so set and people hear that,
they kind of like, yeah, yeah, yeah, they scoff at it.
Yeah yeah, but but you know what, it's interesting when
someone who has no connection to Moler and they they
send their young man here and then that's.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
All they're talking about. Yes, it's like, I never.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
Realized this is like unbelievaby get in.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
It's like, so that's what it is, and.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
That's you know, but I've said it before.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
You know.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
I know a lot of people that you know, went
to other high schools and things like that, and they
they've made mention there's just something about Moris.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
It's different.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Here's just something. There's something and some of them, as.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
I wish we had kind of had that, you know.
So it's a pretty cool thing. And uh, we got
great alumni and great support and uh uh you know,
we're doing kind of well this year, so we are
so we took care of the elks with that, and
uh that earned us a trip to the state championship game.
And Coach will come back and talk about that in
our final segment as we get ready to head to

(17:24):
Canton for the state championship game. As you're listening to
the Bert bathy Andy Show, which features the head coach
of the Molar Fighting Crusaders. Bert Pathy Andy Show is

Bert Bathiani Show, which features the head coach of the
Mollar Fighting Crusaders. Bert Bathyani Show is sponsored by Combe
and Shepherd Realtors. I'm Jeff Schneidl class of nineteen eighty
four and with co Me and Shepherd Realtors and coach,
we've gotten to the situation where we're able to play

(19:06):
a full schedule sixteen games. Is We're going to take
on the Owen Tanji Liberty Patriots. They come in with
a thirteen and two record, they have a one point loss,
they have a three point loss, so realistically they've been
in every game this year, they've won thirteen of them.
And of course last year they earned their ticket by

(19:28):
beating Lake Wit Saint Eds, who we took care of
thirty five to thirty in Week nine, but they were
up twenty one to nothing after three quarters, fourteen points
off turnovers, so they certainly took care of business. They
got a really good quarterback, they got a really good
running back. They're a really good team.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
Yeah, they're really good. I mean they're very well coached.
I think they do a good job put their players
in a good position to just let them play fast. Offensively,
they have a mister Ohio finalist in the quarterback ye
and Leonard, and he's like.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Ours two of the eight right there, playing the canton
in one game, and.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
He's a He's an incredible player.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
You can just tell his teammates respond to him and
they have a he has a he's a good leader
and I think he makes a lot of plays for
him too. I mean he's really good at improvising. So
we got to keep him a bought it up. They
got to running back while I think as dynamic as
can be, and he can catch the ball out of
the backfield is wide out and he can run the ball.

(20:24):
I bet he'd be a good linebacker and safety too.
He's going to o High State to play lacrosse. And
then they got a dynamic receiving corps wall and they
can take the top off and their O line is
big upfront and aggressive, so you know, we have a
rood cut out for us there. And then on defense,
you do a good job of being opportunistic and getting
takeaways and then they don't give up big plays like

(20:46):
they make you earn it every step of the way.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
So on offense, that's gonna be a big challenge for us,
just like.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
US, coach, the Patriots come in with a second year
head coach.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
They were four and eight last.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
Year and two and three and their league, but they
certainly had something cooking. Is again they've come in with
a thirteen and two record, and uh, you know, kind
of kind of cool that second year coach is coming in,
but we like the hook Coach Elder in with us
obviously helped lace of the roundwork with us, so that's
pretty cool. And coach, it looks like it's going to
be pretty much the same conditions that we had last

(21:21):
week at Punston, and we just get to go three
at three and a half hours north and go do
it there.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
And coach. The other thing is we've traveled around around
the whole.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Region this year, so this is this is dropping the bucket,
adding up to camp thew.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
It's frazy is that the playoffs has been our easiest
travel all year. So we've been in Cincinnati the entire time,
so we're road warriors for the first ten games.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
And then we got to stay at home in the
playoffs and now we get.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
The we'll back the back please isn't familiar places.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
And we went up there with our with our seniors
this summer and that's kind of my culturals now, that's yeah,
And so we got now we normally get to go
on the field, we didn't this time. They a flag
football thing going on. So are our seniors have been
talking all the time and they didn't get to prey
on the field, and they're looking forward to God praying

(22:13):
on the fifty yard leven when we get.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
There, and that'd be one of the first things we do, right, that'll.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Be the first thing we do.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
But it's cool that those I didn't realize that they
were talking about it like that.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
That's kind of coming to light the last couple of days.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
But this says a lot about the young men right there.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
I mean, like they're like, we didn't get the prey
when we went up there. We got to get back
to Cantons so we can pray in the fifty yard line.
So it's cool, like that's where their mindset is.

Speaker 4 (22:36):
It's not going to end their coach, Nope, we got
a whole game to get through and Coach Fouse looking
down on us, as well as some other notable alumni
like Tony Hunter, who you know is a tremendous player.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
We lost him this.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Week, but he was very good coming back into the
fold here at more Or High School. So a lot
of representation by you and your team, and we're looking
forward to it. And you know what, just let it
rip and let's go have some fun with us.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Sim Le's all it tanks, right, let's it up. Just
be yourself, keep doing what we doing to get this point,
and let's just go fun.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
For those of you traveling to Canton, safe travels, enjoy
the journey and enjoy the Crusaders, and we look forward
to hopefully bringing back.
