Speaker 1 (00:04):
Does it bad? Nobody They can come closer that close

(00:24):
original day never will be we umping from coast to coast.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Welcome to the Coach Last Show, live from Historic five
Points in the little area I live in. They call
it Rhino, a few blocks from Course Field. It's still
five Points though, can't take that away from Hey. There's
a few ways you can reach me. You can reach
out to me on Twitter or x whichever one you

(00:55):
want to call it. Coach Last Under's course sports, uh, Snapchat,
Coach lest Show, Instagram, Coach Underscore Less three to three
or TikTok l R two three. Hey. The Coach Last
Show is brought to you by Spanglane Brewery, a community
brewery in the Denver's historic Five Points neighborhood. They have

(01:18):
several they have a few different beers. They're also at
Coors Field doing the CU games. They're there. They have
the Nickel, it's like a five Points lagger. They have
the D Train, which is West Coast I PA. And
then they have the Ultra Violet. It's a great part. Seltzer. Now,
I'm not an IPA guy, I'm not really a beer guy,

(01:40):
but Norman, let me taste the the lagger. It wasn't bad.
And I'm not a beer guy. But if I'm gonna
drink anything, I'm gonna drink the ultra violet Seltzer. I
know my friends talk about me because that's the only
thing I'm gonna drink. That's me. That's what I'm gonna drink.
But yeah, you have to stop down. They have a

(02:02):
live jazz in there a lot and then they have DJs,
they have cuffin in there. They have a lot of
different things going on in Spanglan Brewery in historic five Points,
so right down the street from where I live at Hey. Today,
this is going to be a coach less short that
you can hear on iHeart, you can hear on Spotify.

(02:22):
But I want to talk about the SeeU Buffs. It
seems like there's someone that I talk about a little
bit more than I thought I would be, but I do.
I started covering see you about I say, almost eight
years ago. Eight and a half years ago. I would
literally get in my car to tell you how they've evolved.

(02:48):
I would get into my car from where I live
at I get up around eleven thirty, take a shower,
get myself ready, jump in the car, drive down to
the game from my home, park in media parking, get
upstairs into the media booth, get something to eat, sit down,

(03:10):
all before the national anthem. I would do all of
that before the national anthem. Now, if I go see
see You play, I have top two and a half
three hours, almost three hours early, just to get there
to see them, just to find parking, because they give
you media parking, but that doesn't mean anything. If you

(03:32):
don't get there in time, you're not going to get
in media parking. So you have to be almost three
hours early, which is kind of cool anyway, because there's
always something happening on the field. There's always people coming
to see Dion's team play. But when I was getting
up going to those games early, I didn't see really

(03:53):
any media. I saw Channel nine News, but only one reporter.
She was there, Ariel, and I think she gone now
she's not in Colorado anymore, but she was at every
game religiously. She covered see you religiously. I didn't see
the other networks at all, didn't see them at all.
They could care less about seeing you, even though it's

(04:17):
to supposedly the school for the state. They didn't care.
They weren't there. I knew Dion was getting hired two
months before he got hired. My source told me, please
don't say anything. The only person that I told was
my camera guy. So I do have a witness that
I did it. I told him and he was like really.

(04:40):
I was like, yeah, they were the problem was they
were trying to figure out his deal with under Armour
and then with Nike who said they weren't going to
leave because they had just signed the deal with CU.
So it took him a while, but he got there.
I don't think he was going to leave Jackson State
until the sea and was over anyway, because he was

(05:02):
still at Jackson State and they had they were going
to another celebration boat. But anyway, I said that. I
say that to say this. I went to media day
when they came and it was packed. It was packed.

(05:22):
I remember looking around and saying, I've never saw mostly
any of you guys. It's crazy because they weren't going
there to see see you. They were going there to
see you, meaning Deon Sanders. They could care less. There's
a young lady that has this show right now with

(05:44):
Dion Sanders every week. I may have saw her. Maybe
if a handful of times in eight years before Dion
became the coach, which I get it. She's trying, probably
trying to get to ESPN or Fox or somewhere else.
I get it. But I'm just saying they never showed up.

(06:06):
All of the networks from Fox, CBS. Every now and again,
somebody would be there. KOA was there religiously, and some
of the writers, some of the AP writers, they were there,
Rocky Mountain News, Denver Posts, they were there. But these
networks that's there. It's crazy. And they're like first name

(06:28):
basis on Coach Prime, you know, but they weren't there.
I get it. They want their second to shine. I
get it. But now those same people that are there
to see Coach Prime are now starting to vote voice
their opinions about the job that he's doing. I find

(06:50):
it awful, hypocritical that you didn't cover them at all
because you didn't think they were important, and now you
got your ten seconds of fame because he's there, and
now you want to criticize the job that he's doing.
It's funny. I don't think he's going to leave see you,

(07:11):
But if he was to leave see you, if he was,
I really don't think that's going to happen. But if
he was to leave, see you, I wonder if you
would see those same people there. Now, there was a
couple of seasons out of this past eight and a
half years or so that I've been covering seven and
a half eight and a half that they did show up.

(07:33):
There was one good year with coach Matt and Tire.
There was a good year with the coach with another coach.
Both years they went to Bowls with those coaches, and
then they weren't good the rest of the time. Coach
Prime has won a lot of games. Some would say,

(07:54):
from what I've been reading, he's getting paid a lot
of money to win games. Yes he is. He's getting
a lot of money to win games. But Rome wasn't
built in today, and you gotta figure he brought in Shador,
his son, and he also brought in Travis Hunter, and
people wanted to play around them, and now he has
to build this program up for people to want to

(08:17):
be around certain players. I don't know who those players
are gonna be. I don't I don't know if is
it gonna be Juju. I had someone call me up
and say they don't think juju. If they don't make
a bowl, is gonna stay at See You next year?
He might not. In our money is out there. I'm

(08:37):
sure someone may offer him a lot of money to
leave See You, just like they've been doing in the past.
And I think Coach Prime is just gonna be just
fine with that. He's not gonna knock him for leaving
because he's built his program on nil players or that
transfer a portal. See who's gonna be alright? They're gonna

(08:59):
be our right. The last game, which was the BYU game,
there was a couple of things that happened in that game.
I don't think it was all the coaches fought. I
do feel like the beginning of the game, I don't
know if they had scripted plays. I feel like those
were scripted plays. So the first twenty or so plays

(09:20):
were scripted. They looked great. Then they went back to
their same methodical offense, and then they started to stink again.
Whatever plays they're using that scripted, they might want to
use for the whole game because it looked good. They
were moving the ball at a really great pace. But

(09:43):
See You's gonna be all right. And to all of
the people that was so happy to praise him. He
was coming here. Keep praising him. You barely see him
at the press, the weekly press con conferences. Now they're
not there. Those same people that I'm talking about. They'll

(10:04):
show up at the end of the games because you know,
ESPN is there and Fox Sports and Sports Illustrated, so
they show up for that stuff. But they are not
showing up for his weekly press conferences. And that's fine.
They were when he first got there, so they're starting
to go back to their normal selves. See you fans,

(10:28):
I think the only thing the Colorado fans think about
are the Denver Broncos. The Nuggets win a championship, they
talk about him for two or three days, and they
go right back to the Nuggets. It's a football city.
I think they need to embrace see you a little
bit more. They need to embrace coach Prime like they

(10:48):
did when he first got here, because he's going to
be all right. He's going to be just alright. They
need six games to get into a bowl. I still
feel they'll get six, or if he gets five, I
still think somebody may still give him a bowl because

(11:08):
he'll fill up their stadium. See you bus, I'm looking
forward to what they have coming. Have a game this
week TCU, then IOWA. I will state two weeks in
a row so they'd be tested. But if they look
at film like I know they do, and they see

(11:30):
what they did to start that game off against by U,
they might they might want to continue to do that. Hey,
it's just my opinion. That's all, just my opinion. Don't forget.
You can reach me on Twitter Coach Last, Underscore sports
or x Instagram Coach Underscore Last three to three, Snapchat,

(11:52):
Coach Last Show, TikTok l R two three. Those are
the ways to reach me, and don't forget. We are
sponsored by Spanglan Brewery. Go to their website. Take a
look at their website. See the nights. I know tonight
was Wing Wednesday. Wing Wednesday. You get eight wings and

(12:13):
you get a beer with the wings. I think for
like twelve dollars Wednesday nights. And when you go in there,
see my favorite is the is the Ultra great Heart Seltzer.
I'm sure if you guys go in you might like
an IPA or the Nickel to five points longer. But

(12:36):
when you do going there, tell them coach Last centure.
They'll give you free beer as long as you pay
for it. Hey, this has been the coach last show.
