✅Did you know animals are depicted in literature more often than children of color? Creating home, school, and classroom libraries that are representative of multiple cultures is something we will discuss in this episode of "The Collaborative".
A very fitting topic as we just celebrated Multicultural Children's Book Day with amazing authors this past weekend.
✅Cary Carrington of Read with Carylee has developed an amazing platform for diverse literary offerings allowing all children to see themselves in literature.
✅Read with Carylee has been compared to Reading Rainbow and we were honored to not only collaborate with her, as her work aligns perfectly with the vision of Create and Educate, LLC., but also have her as a guest on our platform.
✅At Create and Educate, LLC., we are bringing awareness to independent authors in public schools and encouraging principals to purchase diverse literature that allows all children to have the ability to connect with text through our catalog that will be released on Wednesday.
✅We were also excited to have Dr. Evona L. Smith, a practicing Nurse Practitioner bring us story time at the end of the segment.
✅Enjoy! See you next Tuesday at 7 pm.
Dr. Sharon Hargo brought together several awsome women school leaders to share thier stories in an anthology project. Dr. Sheka Houston, Principal
Tammy Taylor and Principal Trelane Clark discuss the book that is currently in pre-sales.
