Speaker 3 (00:37):
So we want you to sit back back and escape

Speaker 2 (00:46):
So let's get to it.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Here's today's episode of The Castle.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
So yeah you need.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Oh goodness, Well, here we are co has it, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
And listen, these are gonna be disjointed. These sorry, we're
gonna do segments. We're gonna go when we're gonna we're
not professionals, okay, So we're gonna come together and this
is the start of our second podcast on the tour

(01:18):
that we're gonna bring you in on and what we're
doing tonight. We're gonna be in the round, don't you know.

Speaker 7 (01:22):
And these are special places that we did Hyannas yesterday,
we did Westbury the day before that, and now we're
on the last of the tents in the round. So
we did them as kids, and we really thought how
much fun to be on a stage.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
That was moving? You know, is equally fun today? Oh,
Paul said, stage is moving. Probably some of you probably
what did you talk about moving? You're in the round.
So the stage is down at the center at this
at the bottom of the cone, okay, and the audience
is all around the cone run so you can't move
the audience. So they take the stage and at about

(01:57):
a clock pace okay, the ballast fast as a clock
turn that stage during our performance so that we go
around the audience and we see people in different sections.
Otherwise they would only see our backs if you never
moved the stage.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
So this is one of those times where the back
of your hair is important.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (02:17):
Well no, actually, because the band is in back of us,
it's really hard to see us from the rear.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah. I have had the thought occasionally turn a song
like if you do the little thoughts above my head
while I'm singing, I saw her sitting gosh here they
can see my balls farm, you know, and stuff like that. No,
the whole most of the arms can see my ball
spot like the head, and then they bring me around
to him. They probably go, he looks, okay, that's one

(02:44):
moment on the front. It's like the stage and Tomorrowland.

Speaker 7 (02:47):
If you recall when we went into uh the World
of Progress, the audience moved and I love that that
for break.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
This is the third at Disneyland. There's our third in
the round. So in a row, I'm getting I'm getting busy,
and they don't just send you one way. They send
you one way. Happen somewhere around Lake or Love American style.
I find myself going the other way okay, and I'm going,
what the hell happened? It's like, why can't they just
do one circle around? They got to go to the

(03:20):
right the.

Speaker 7 (03:22):
It came all the way around, because then that's going
to make all the cables and everything.

Speaker 8 (03:27):
That's just.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Then they come back the other way. He's the thing.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
We feel that these theaters were primarily made for like plays, musicals, right,
didn't We feel.

Speaker 7 (03:37):
Like I have had many many plays here. Back in
the day it was summer stocks called and young students
would come here and they would in turn for free
and do all the different departments of running a show
and guys.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
In the late sixties when we were famous, especially right
out of high school sixty seven sixty eight, we played
these in the round. But back then they were there
and here, like if you come to them, they're historic.
Look go look for.

Speaker 9 (04:04):
The wa When John and I were little, these were
our absolute favorite stages because it was.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Like being on a ride while working. Yeah, I remember
when Barry was doing it Mick Jagger.

Speaker 7 (04:15):
We were doing Mick Jack and uh, and he actually
came down, you know, he'd and come down in the
jumping Jack flash outfit and hopefully he was.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Finding the ramp up onto the stage. We had to
get going. You gotta be careful. The older we get,
the more it's like in the round again gets sickness,
even though not in the show. I don't get it
in the show, but I'm aware of this move but

(04:46):
the movement, especially when I see someone and they're gone,
then I see someone else and they're gone, and then
I come back and like I saw you before. This
is too much to think.

Speaker 7 (04:57):
And recognize any of the people. What I do recognize
is Dorian. All of a sudden seas in front of you,
and I'm going, okay.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
So we've moved. Yeah. It is a funny perspective because
Dorian always is too across the stage to the left
of us. Yeah, in front, but now we're past and
we're looking right at it.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
It turns out the kid knows the words of the songs.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Our our middle performance in Hyannas, they had a meltdown
on the South. You guys kudos the most kudos for
doing the most to get the show back on.

Speaker 10 (05:33):
She did.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
She even got a lobster before the audience, before the
Northeastern audience was going to lose their patients because they
already started that clap book.

Speaker 11 (05:41):
Yeah there were Our set went off smooth as frosting,
and then the rest of the guys. It seemed to
happen at their last song during the bows Yeah during yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Yeah, portion of our of our podcast.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Right now, we have to go to work, ready to go.
Around six o'clock, the juices start going about you got
to show, you got to show. That's got to show
you better sound check. Actually, you know, we really start
getting It's quarter after six our times, so it's time
to go and get dressed and we'll see you time

(06:18):
you have to this week, we'll take you to a
sound check, but not this week, right right, uh, But
we'll see you after and we'll check in with you
again throughout the night.

Speaker 9 (06:27):
Goodbye for now, now, goodbye for now, Goodbye to you,
good Bye to you.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
So we are about forty minutes away from the show.
I thought we'd show you the theater in the round
we're talking about. See how the seats go all the
way and way down there in the center of the
whole thing is the stage. So that stage is the

(06:55):
one that turns like a clock so that it sees
all with us. So we're getting ready to get on.
We're going to get backstays, get ready for this show.
This place is going to be packed. So we'll take
you on in, stay with us, over and out for now.

Speaker 8 (07:16):
So we are backstage. That's Darren. Here come the boys
reporting for work. That's Sean, there's Manny. Everyone's starting to
show up. We've got the pre show excitement going. That's
the pre show excitement. Let's take it down to the
here we are, we're going down to where the catering is.
That's all Susan Council. Look who we're running into.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Stage.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
He's guesting on her own show. Look at her, go,
look at her.

Speaker 10 (07:43):
Go.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Here's Dale. This is Dale. Dale's a very busy guy.
Dale's very busy during the show. Well during Anthony said
he is. That's for sure. He's the leader extraordinaire of
what's going on up there, but you don't know it
because he's not front center. And that's okay. That's okay,
because the grocery store doesn't care where I stand on
that stage. Okay, there he is. That's how he rationalizes

(08:06):
in Okay, Dale, thanks, all right, I'm going to spend
I'm trying not to spend too much. Yes, I've got it.
I'm right on two of them. Joan Rivers. Look at that,
Raquel Welsh, Peter Nero. They acted here. They used to
have plays here, you guys, it's like live performances. These

(08:26):
are historic theaters. Were no no than that. Look at that.
Remember Dona, what a show that had to best? There
you go, that's who comes here back back Davis Crazy

(08:49):
Place was great. That's right.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Then here's how they do the They do put the
names of the people in the dressing room here. So
that's Jay Jay and that show so much. That's Lenny.
Lanny's been on hiatus. He went on the injured reserve
for about four days May I don't know.

Speaker 12 (09:08):
But we've got him back. He's off the bench. Yeah,
he's off the bench and he's back in action. Man,
we're glad about that, that's for sure. Oh okay, I
gotta go see Troy.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, we're gonna go see Troy. I gotta see Troy.

Speaker 8 (09:28):
Troy.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
We gotta we've gotta touch base with you. This is
Troy backstage. I know you don't. He doesn't look it
right right now, but this guy is front and center,
the funniest guy, the best host of a set, the
best interactor with an audience, because he's the one that
starts opening in the muff. We don't ignore them, but
we we rush by them very quickly. They always prets

(09:51):
like dogs. He's a world famous, very famous yeah w
f T world famous Troy. That sounds kind of funny
at first. Gley and Karen, Right, Kathy, all right, I
was close that that's the staff. These girls work so
hard to feed these people, and they'll pour your coffee.

(10:16):
I mean really, Lily did that. And they'll do everything
for you, and they cook and they make it taste
so good. So they're the unsung heroes of a night
like tonight. All right, that's good. We could include that.
That was great, okay, and I guess that's it. So
we'll see you guys on stage once. We're waiting to
go on, right, So that's what we're gonna do for

(10:38):
an hour an hour.

of hardy rock themes.
