Speaker 1 (00:00):
This week on the show, we have Samantha McManis, who
is an American global bestselling author and intuitive healer. Samantha,
thank you so much for being on the show today.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
And thanks so much for having me day.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
You have a very interesting journey. But before we get
into your work as an author, I want to take
it back to the beginning and how you became an
intuitive healer and spiritual coach. What led you to this path?
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Absolutely, and thank you so one hundred percent true, and
that I was certainly led all of my life, whether
I knew it or not, And that wasn't really clear
to me until I was in my thirties. So there
were many signs, many signs in my early childhood, very
specific signs that I was not walking alone in my journey.
(00:45):
When I remark about understanding the interconnectedness of all things,
I don't really use that term in the generically used
since that's commonly thrown around in the media or in
pop culture. You know, like when you see two love
interests in movie saying, oh, we're so connected. You know,
that's loosely based on a few commonalities and mutual chemistry.
(01:07):
Then the scene will cut to the next one and
it's already forgotten about. So interconnectedness isn't referenced often in
its truest form, not with very much depth or very
much meaning. So I'm trying to do this justice here
when I say that coming to my understanding of the
interconnectedness of all things is that we are spiritually and
(01:31):
energetically tethered to all things.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Very nice and one topic that I love stettying is
the power of the subconscious mind. How does your subconscious
mind play a part in the way we see the
world and the actions we take?
Speaker 3 (01:43):
A yes, the subconscious mind. This is one of my
favorite topics to discuss. Thank you for this question, by
the way, So the subconscious mind our very own backstage director.
I like to describe the mind of my client as
though the conscious mind is the part that we are
the most aware of, so our thoughts, our decisions, the
(02:07):
actions that we deliberately control. But the conscious mind is
basically the tip of a giant iceberg, the part that's
visible above the water, while that vast and mysterious subconscious
is what lies beneath. It's hidden from view, but it's
profound and it's very influential. So the subconscious is the
(02:29):
unseen treasure trove of memory. It's beliefs, experiences, and it
subtly shapes how we see the world and how we
navigate through it. So we can think of the subconscious
mind as our director and two as that faithful, loyal,
devoted personal assistant. It's what works twenty four to seven
to process information, to manage the task that keep us alive, safe, functioning.
(02:54):
It's where every habit is born, where our instincts are honed,
and where the magic of that intuition and we just
touched on thrives. So when you walk into a room
and you can sense the atmosphere without anybody uttering a word,
that's the subconscious mind whispering insights.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
The subconscious is like fertile.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Ground where seeds of thoughts and beliefs get planted and
they sprout into the actions that we ultimately take. Positive
affirmations and visualizations are, in essence, the water and the
rays of sunshine that nurture those seeds into the blossoming outcomes.
So if you ever wonder why you suddenly crave adventure
after you watch an amazing movie, or you feel inspired
(03:35):
to take on a challenge after a motivational speech. That's
the subconscious mind stepping into its role in translating those
inspirations or aspirations into action. So the subconscious mind is largely,
for the most part, the unsung hero and the silent
partner that helps steer the wheel of our lives. It
drives this road along the way that contains our past experiences,
(04:00):
our emotions, and are deep rooted or acquired beliefs along
the way. If it's nurtured and it's watered, it's given
the right amount of sunlight, it helps you unlock just
a world of potential as vast as that Iceberg's hidden depths.
So we're very complex beings, much more intricate and elaborate
(04:21):
than most of us truly realize that we're capable of being.
Given all the distractions, the advertisements, the daily pressures, the
constant busyness of modern society. It's a very noisy world
out there and sidetracking, for lack of a better word.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Very true. And I'm a big fan of using subliminals
to reprogram my subconscious minds. I know that you use
hypnotherapy on your clients. How does this help your clients
get rid of limiting beliefs and replace them with empowering thoughts.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
So that is a wonderful step in harnessing one's potential
for growth, for expansions of horizons and opportunities. And this
is a great question, thank you. So I do use
the art of hypnosis quite often to help with this.
My aim with hypnotism is to help folks to rewrite
their inward story or stories to ultimately flourish. And in
(05:16):
that process, I'll create a calm, comfortable setting for my client.
I'll usually set some soft lighting or high frequency tones,
and I'll help the client to relax, just fully relax.
That helps to set the stage to gently guide them
into a focused or heightened state of awareness through verbal
(05:36):
cues and different relaxation techniques, helping their subconscious mind to
become more receptive to change. Those steps are like somebody
getting into the zone, you know, before a game or
a show or a performance. So where the magic truly
happens here is when I begin to use those carefully
crafted subliminals, which are in essence, suggestions or affirmation that
(06:00):
gently helped to nudge away the limiting beliefs. The subliminals
are all tailored to each person's unique need or desire,
each subliminal replacing the old, unhelpful thoughts with empowering and
positive ones. I try to liken myself to the DJ,
helping to perfect the track for the mind's dance floor.
(06:20):
In other words, and every beat is designed to encourage
growth in positive movement. I also work with clients to
help identify specific beliefs that might be holding them back,
and by understanding those beliefs, I can help them create
subliminals that directly counteract them, planning little seeds of empowerment.
So over time, as those positive suggestions begin to saturate
(06:42):
the subconscious space and take root, clients begin to see
changes in their conscious mindset and their conscious outward behavior.
So an example, recently, my mother asked me to perform
hypnosis on her due to her fear of flying. She
and my dad were getting ready to go on a
lengthy trip with multiple layovers, and every time that she'd
think of flying, she would just cringe, like just clamshell.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
And so she called and she said, girl, help me.
So I did.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
I got my books out, I got my scripts ready,
tailored my notes to her specific issue because she very
clearly identified that fear the whys and the house and
we sat down, we went through the process, and she
was able to get on that plane with no more
fear whatsoever.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Like the results were night and day. It was really incredible.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
I've never lost my sense of awe about these incredible
tools that we have access to, Like just simple steps
and small changes can make such a difference in people's lives.
And I mean these tools are completely free, They're one
hundred percent available and they just have to be tapped into.
So we're pretty amazing creatures.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Very nice. And I know you have a holistic academy.
Can you tell us more about it and how it works?
Speaker 3 (07:58):
We do, Yeah, thank you for mentioning this. So this
is a relatively new venture for us. We formed the
Living Roots Center for Wellness and the Healing Tree Academy
of Embodied Wisdom over the past year, actually in between
finishing and releasing our books, conducting our sessions, crafting for
our holistic skin care and hair care business, and relocating
(08:22):
our family. But man, just we want to continue growing
and expanding our reach and keep helping as many people
as possible in recovering from trauma, PTSD, depression, addiction, and
helping those of us that are just feeling a little lost.
So the Living Roots Center for Wellness is primarily a
center for assistance where we offer one on one sessions
(08:46):
for various needs, whether that be in the form of coaching,
conducting healing sessions, or just helping to identify certain triggers
or deep seated traumas and help our clients to create
their own new blueprint for healing to overcome those personal struggles.
The other half, which is the Healing Tree Academy of
Embodied Wisdom, is primarily educational. So we have between my
(09:10):
husband and myself our doctorates certifications and logo therapy, NLP, technique,
life coaching, among others, and we offer multiple courses accredited
through the HTCP, the International Holistic Therapist and Course Providers Association,
and we offer Holistic Health practitioner courses on both of
(09:31):
our websites and you to me. So this academy is
for anybody seeking to expand their knowledge to begin or
further pursue a spiritual or holistic wellness journey. It gives
them more than just a peak behind the curtain into
our unseen and vast spiritual world where they get to
(09:51):
not only learn about our true interconnectedness here on Earth,
but they get to experience it as well through the courses.
Courses are set up to offer a roadmap to really
open the mind, the world, and the heart if willing.
One of my favorite courses that we currently offer focuses
on universal law, the principle of Hermeticism, which involves some
(10:15):
of the most ancient literature about the laws and principles
that govern the universe. These principles include vibration, polarity, cause,
and effect to name a few, and it's one of
my favorite courses because her meticism itself. If you've researched
the ancient writings of the Hermetica or the Kabalian, they
(10:37):
date back to well before even Biblical times, and that
was one of the most pivotal spiritual concepts that helped
me to gain a better understanding of life and of meaning.
It's what helped me to foster deeper connections with myself,
with others, with nature, and ultimately our Creator, nurturing this
(10:59):
path toward holistic and spiritual wellbeing. So we loved putting
these courses together for everybody. I mean, I could spend
this half hour talking about this topic as it truly
is transformational, but I invite everybody to check it out
on our site to learn all about it. It's currently
offered on the site for free. So we're just trying
to share some hope, be a beacon of light and
(11:20):
awareness everywhere that we can be and fast forward.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
I know you have a book out called Earth's Midwife,
A Memoir of a Spiritual Dola. Tell us about the
book and what inspired you to write it.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Absolutely so, Earth's Midwife, a Memoir of a Spiritual Doula
is in essence my life story. It's written though, also
as a spiritual guide and self.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Help book for others.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
We've written a lot of books on individual topics, and
like we've discussed here previously, much of our effort is
helping people from a spiritual standpoint along their journey, and
this book's really no different.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
It's an extension of that.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
The entire journey within it, though, is my own, so
from my childhood onward into my first experiences with my
intuitive gifts, my realization of and awareness of the innate
abilities that were beyond ordinary. This book encompasses all of
the trial and error, the doubt, the revelations, the duality
(12:21):
of being both spiritually powerful, but so vulnerably human. Speaking
of vulnerability, publishing this book was one of the more
vulnerable things that I've done in my life. So as
the thing shared here, most people closest to me didn't
even really know. A lot of people know who I am,
but they don't know how and they don't know why.
(12:43):
So this was a deep dive into the how and
the why, the hope and the goal. And the intention
with this is that since the book does go through
my spiritual evolution and very rawly about the doubt and
the second guessing at times, it can also serve as
a guidepost for others who are at varying stages of
their journey because I didn't have a lot of people
(13:06):
to speak to about this as I was growing up
or in my early adult years. So I'm hoping to
be that beacon for others through my words and the
heartfelt intention of those writings.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Samantha, your book also won the official five star cel
from Readers Favorites in the entry of the International Book
of the Year Contest. Congratulations tell us about that amazing accomplishment.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Thank you so much. Yeah, it was.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
It was awesome, A huge achievement in milestone as an author.
So there were thousands of incredibly talented authors and writers
who entered that contest this year and so many just
countless wonderful books. This was a real honor for me,
very very grateful that it resonated and hopefully that recognition
(13:53):
will help it reach more people looking for a resource
and an a bid of the adventure and journey that
the soul can take a human on.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
And you also have two books that are in the
top one hundred best selling status on Amazon. Tell us
more about those books and a short synopsis on both.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
We do. Yeah, it's a very exciting time. So we
have Unlocking your Innate Abilities the Seven Spiritual Gifts from God,
which is it's a book that goes over our in
essence birthright of innate spiritual gifts that have been written
about for eons across multiple religions, multiple cultures, but that
(14:33):
are passed down historically to those whom live by principle
and with gratitude as the focal point of our actions
and our intent. So the seven gifts referenced in this
book are Number one is those who speak prophetically or
have the gift of perceiving. Number two are gifts of service,
(14:56):
which this delves a bit deeper than providing a service,
not to take away from any act of service which
is commendable, but the gift of service is with the
spiritual ability to impact humanity with this act. Third is
the gift of teaching and leadership, in which there are,
(15:17):
and don't get me wrong, there are great and remarkable teachers,
but there are those written historically.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
This gift is written historically about.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Those who teach that can unlock a heightened reach in
a spiritual aspect of teaching that touch more than the mind,
but also through their words and the wisdom shared along
with the intention will in turn activate the heart and
the soul as well as the mind of their students.
This leadership gift is not the power of a leader,
(15:53):
but it's empowering to those who are taught.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
The fourth gift is the gift.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Of encouragement, which is the ability to inspire and to uplift,
to reignite somebody's sole purpose or their hope when they
feel there is none. So this gift of encouragement spoken
about through history was of those who knew how to
utilize this talent. This gift with encouragement and when demonstrated
(16:21):
with sincerity, with the precise and right soul inspired words,
heartfelt words. This type of encouragement was to help others
keep going when they were ready to end it all
or throw in the towel, or to bring about immense
change within those listeners, which is a gift in itself
to the giver.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
This encouragement gift was awakening.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Number five, the gift of giving, and by bearing this gift,
this gift focuses on the profound effect that to truly give,
without an agenda or for recognition, payment, or praise, what
that gift brings to others' lives and in turn the
health and well being of the bearer as well. And
(17:06):
then lastly, there's the gift of compassion, which is ultimately
true mercy, something that unfortunately not many of we humans
exhibit with our daily judgments, our daily self deprecating and
the widespread perpetual void feeling of separation from our spirit
and one another. So somebody who is in touch with
(17:29):
their heart and has met the depths of the self,
or has come face to face with their soul, they
become comprised with these seven gifts. This book bridges this
huge gap between religious doctrine, the description through religion of
spiritually gifted people, and it connects it with history's account
of spirituality and our innate giftedness, as we all come
(17:53):
from the same divine source, whether some folks agree with
that or they don't. It also explains how raising our
vibration and getting as close to shedding the ego as
we possibly can in our lifetime, which is basically what
we're here to do.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
We're here to remember, and we're here to.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Dismantle the chains of the ego and or in doing so,
these amazing gifts are bestowed to us, one activation after another,
and real quick. The other book is Self Hypnosis Harness
your Mind's Potential for Healing. This book walks readers through
the art of hypnosis and the process of hypnotizing oneself
(18:32):
even when they're with their eyes open. So this was
a super fun book to write. It includes a brief
history of the origin of hypnosis or hypnotism, several case
studies that help back this form of therapy and healing,
and it provides scripts for people to either read straight
from the pages of the book or to modify and
customize to hone one's personal need and desire.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
And Samantha I created my platforms are inspired and to
showcase that anything is possible for anyone who is maybe
struggling with their goals or just not seeing their goals
manifest What would you say to inspire and uplift gotten?
Speaker 2 (19:07):
And I think that is wonderful.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
I mean, when we can and where we can do good,
we absolutely should. And so I've listened to your shows,
I've watched several interviews, and I've absolutely noticed and seen
that mission to inspire and uplift others with your work.
I think it's a beautiful thing. You're doing a great job.
My hat is just off to you. So to answer
your question and thank you for anybody who's struggling to
(19:33):
meet their goals or having any trouble in manifesting their desires,
what I would first do is sit down and ask
them about their framework, you know, the who, what, when,
where and why before we would get into the how.
So when I first began with working with Manifestation, I
didn't always have a clear goal. I hadn't done much
(19:55):
research initially and was just harnessing energy. I was wishing
and I was in payatiently waiting. So I would start
with a want, maybe a why add in a win,
of course, But early on I was lucky if I
had three of those fundamentals attached to one another in
my goal setting and all all of these are necessary,
(20:16):
or that bread just ain't gonna bake, you know, So
I would look at the framework. I would find out
what's in their heart, why this feels true to them,
what meaning or purpose is attached with the desired outcome.
Often we have many wants as humans, but they're not
always meant for us.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
And almost one hundred percent of.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
The time, trying to bend a will or to influence
an outcome that doesn't start from the right place of
the heart space or from the soul, or with the
most right intention for self and others, this will result
in a negative outcome. Ultimately, the consequences will always match
(20:59):
the intentions. So the ethics here are crucial. They're very,
very important. So if I'm ever asked to help with manifestation,
I do take a deeper look into those goals and
the inspired action somebody's taking towards achieving it, Like is
it healthy, is it beneficial to the self and others?
Is it hurtful or harmful?
Speaker 2 (21:20):
In any way.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
If it checks all of the boxes and it aligns
with the higher self, and it looks like a person's calling,
or it brings joy without harm, then we'll work.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
On the components of taking that inspired action. We create
that vision board.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
At that time, we visualize the future self vividly in detail,
and we start talking to and treating ourselves as we
are that future version, because the only thing from there
that separates us from.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
That timeline is our belief in the leap.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
The problem with a seemingly failed or a stunted manifestation
is that it requires not only.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
The want and the intent, but it.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Must include inspired action followed by an absolute faith that
it's already on its way and coming into fruition.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Without belief, it will lack fuel.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Energy does attract like energy, which has been shown scientifically
and in many many case studies. The last bit of
advice that I'd share with somebody struggling a bit with
manifestation is to just be patient, not only with yourself.
And I know it's a very viral term, to just
trust the process, but that is true. The process of
(22:33):
the universe delivering the material to the space of the
desired goal. It takes time to cultivate and grow, just
like a seed takes time to sprout and to bloom.
It's not overnight. And I know I've used a lot
of garden references in this interview. I'm sorry, but it's
one of the best ways to put things into perspectives.
I wrote down this divinely guided mantra last month that
(22:58):
I speak to myself now almost daily, and that is
your garden is your atrium. And I mention it here
because this applies to manifestation as well.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I feel because typically.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
In our material and tangible world, a garden grows within
a fence right, a property boundary, or in an atrium.
And I say this mantra because an atrium, to me
is but another construct. In the material world, it's a
decided limitation. But in the spiritual and the bodily realm,
(23:31):
or our vessel sense, the atrium is comprised of the
two upper chambers of the heart. They are the two
receiving chambers. So spiritually, how well you nurture your own
garden is how much that garden's going to thrive. And
by the degree that you nurture that garden, you determine
whether it's going to be contained within a certain limitation
(23:52):
or construct or whether it's going to be limitless and
unbound with or without walls, and within the heart space.
And how well you love yourself, how well you care
for you, impacts your growth and your overall health as well.
And alas, this is what I mean about the interconnectedness
of all things and why I love our hermetics course
(24:14):
that we've touched on, because I mean it has an
entire chapter on the incredibly ancient as above so below
principle I mean in all things that we think, we feel,
and we do. Universal principle applies the main idea with
the all of everything, whether it's manifestation, intention, or action,
(24:35):
is foremost to love yourself, love others, love nature, set
your highest self intentions with every act, be grateful, patient,
nurture your entire environment and being, and have faith everything
can and will grow exponentially and just beautifully from there.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
