and six. Almost nobody did.Yeah, so we're kind of rushing around,
you know, flying by the seatof our pants. And I knew
this was gonna be a tough onefor me because I didn't have a lot

of time over the weekend to domy notes. So I was literally doing
them last night and I had tofinish them up this morning. It's it's
kind of a yeah, it's fun, but happy Monday, everybody. We're
Donna's Donna's having a kind of laggyconnection today. So just yeah, I'm

sorry, I keep I keep droppingout, no idea what's going on.
I did lose my signal last night, but it seemed to be fine this
morning. But yeah, no,it happens. I was having I was
having I almost canceled the show lastnight because We're I was having so many
problems, like I was just freezingup for you know, three minutes at

a time. It's kind of crazy. But so don I don't know if
I've ever if I've ever talked toyou about this or gotten your opinion.
Are you? Are you a Gabrielfan or a Gabriel hater. I have
a Gabriel fun. I love Gabriel. Okay, yeah, oh am I,

oh that's good. Yeah. Ithink by the end he was like
in my top five favorite characters.I love that, like Carol, he
had a journey and he you know, had to change and we saw him
grow on screen and I just foundhim interesting as well. So what a
surprise and a delight to see himin this episode. It was very surprising.

Didn't expect that. I was superhappy. I yeah, I did
not expect him to show up.Like there were quite a few characters that
I would have expected to show upin this series before Gabriel, So I
was I was super happy when wesaw his face. I'm such a Gabriel

fan. I love him, andlike I saw a lot of people,
I saw a lot of Gabriel hateon the on the timeline yesterday and like
he was cheating on Rosita. Ithink there's Zita might have been dead by
that time by the time of theirlast meeting. What are you what are

you thinking? Do we do welose you? Ah? Oh no,
she's freezing up and I really wantto get her opinion on it. Oh
no, sorry, guys, we'rewe're really winging it. Ah Okay,

yeah, okay, my my opinionis quick before it does it again.
I agree. I think you know, he wasn't cheating on Rosita, but
I really don't like that they've wreckedconned the story like this. I hate
wreckconning ever since The X Files didit. It was like Mulder had a
brain tumor for a whole season andwe didn't know about it. That was

really annoying. I did like that, you know, he had this secret
and even though he didn't cheat onRose, the idea that he was you
know, he said he looked forwardto seeing on every year and this was
something you really looked forward to,and it was his secret. And I
just hated that they were like,let's change everything you knew about Gabriel and

the last two seasons or whatever itwas. But it doesn't change how I
feel about Gabriel. I just amlike, please don't write Conon stories.
My biggest problem with the episode,and I mentioned this in our little group
chat, was was just the Iwas rolling my eyes so hard at the

whole thing, because as happy asI was to see Gabriel, it just
felt like it felt to me likethey were sick and tired of a bunch
of us, because I know Icomplained about this a lot, but a
bunch of us complaining about the factthat both Gabriel and Megan saw Jadis interacting

with somebody in a helicopter and neversaid anything. Yeah, and I feel
like, you know, this wastheir way of just like slapping some duct
tape on it. You know,I totally get you. And also just
you know that they wanted to showthat she had still had this side of

herd that was like and that wasstill who she was back then, and
that they used they just went,hey, let's use and explain why she
used the last name Stokes as Jadis, which you know, Gabriel's surname.
So it just oh, sorry,guys, just please bear with us today.

I'm just gonna wait until until Don'sand frozen here eventually through Gabriel into
the Oh. The good thing isI can tell when it's frozen quite often
on things like this, but Ican tell lie of frozen, so I

after just kind of feeling frustrated witheverything that's happened that I discussed in my

it was really helpful for me personally. But uh so yeah, so we
this episode was called Become, andit was written by Gabriel janis In Matt
Negretti and directed by Michael Satrazimus.So obviously, you know, we saw

Gabriel, which was awesome and Ijust love him. We called open.
We see some feet walking through theforest. Uh someone all dressed in black.
I thought I thought at first itwas Jadas, but we see him
a shaddy and then a close upof Gabriel's face and I was so happy.

(10:33):
We uh we see him kill awalker and then he looks up to
this guy and says an our father. I think, And you guys can
let me know was he was there? Was he looking up at a helicopter
because it sounded I thought I heardthe sound of a helicopter. But it

(10:58):
was a really quick cold open.So when we come back we see them
in the yellow truck and uh,they're listening to uh to a nice little
song and it's I Love Anytime,Like you know, we see characters And

(11:18):
what was interesting, there were somany throwbacks in this episode, so many
callbacks, and it reminded me whenthey were listening to I'm forgetting the name
of the song, but there werea lot of Oh yeah, Father g
wasn't wearing his hat. Yeah,that's right, he wasn't because Dyll stole

(11:39):
it for his spin off. Butthere were a lot of callbacks in this
episode to both the uh the episodeSay Yes, as well as the episode
right before that where Rick and Mashonehook up for the first time, the

(12:01):
episode that introdduced Us to Jesus.I can't remember the name of that episode
now, but and Walking down Eternal. If you remember the name of that
episode, let me know because I'mI'm racking my brain trying to remember the
name of the episode where we sawJesus. But it reminded me, you
know, them in the car listeningto music it's just and being happy.

(12:24):
It reminded me of that episode wherethey met Jesus and Rick and Mishaun hooked
up for the first time because theepisode started with Rick and Darryl in the
car listening to music and you know, being silly and smiling and laughing and
stuff. But they're in their yellowtruck and you're on their waiter, Virgina.

(12:48):
They find a van and pull overand open the back and find a
bunch of packets of hasteful nudes.I loved. I actually used to have
a t shirt in my Etsy shopthat said said nudes I know o ds
with a bowl of noodles on it, So I thought that was cute.

(13:11):
The tasteful nudes. The tasteful nudesramen. So they grab a whole bunch
of them, and we then seethem eating noodles and make it out before
driving off. The next day throughthe beautiful scenery of of Yellowstone and Wyoming,

(13:33):
they then find a walker with amachete in its shoulder. And I'm
trying to understand if we're supposed toassume that that was Gabriel's machete, because
I think they were in the sameplace at that point. Maybe maybe not.

(13:56):
I don't, I don't, I'mnot sure. I'm kind of confused
about that. Or no, theyknow they were still in Yellowstone at that
point, so it wouldn't be GayrielsSety, so it was just a nod.
So anyway, Rick Rick drinks aslice and he's staring at the phone
drawing of Carl, which was reallysweet. They then come to the Yellowstone

(14:20):
Welcome Center and I loved Rick grabbing. He's looking at some named license plates
and he finds a junior. Hefinds one that says Junior and says,
would this be a terrible gift forr J. Shown's like nobody has ever

(14:43):
called him junior. I thought thatwas really quick. I thought that was
really cute. But even even cuterthan that, he picks up a you
know, Michelle was talking about howlike she always hated those named license plates
because there was never a MA shownthe Next World. Yes, thank you,
thank you, wild Margoram that wasthe Jesus episode the Next World.

(15:07):
And uh so they they come tothe welcome center and uh yeah, and
he gets, you know, healmost picks up the junior lices plate,
but then he picks up a Michellenecklace after micheone complained about, you know,
never being able to find anything withher name on it because you know

(15:30):
how the name Micheone is not exactlycommon and uh so he picks up a
Michelle necklace and then breaks off them and pockets it, and Michean then
picks up a tiny axe and saysr J might be ready for it,
and Rick's like, is that whohe is? And Judith and Micheone responds

(15:52):
with Judith has a sword. They'reus. This was super cute, I
thought on multiple levels. Rick tellsher he got or something you know,
you're thinking the necklace, but hepulls out He doesn't pull out the necklace.
He pulls out a tiny tube ofbaking soda and spearmint toothpaste, which

(16:12):
is a throwback to the Next Worldwhen you know he was going out looking
for supplies with Darryl and she wantedspearmint and baking soda toothpaste and which which
in an indirect way led to themhooking up the couch later. But he

(16:37):
never got her the baking soda andspearmint toothpaste in that episode because the U
in a moment of tragedy, thetruck bank into into a lake, which
was so sad a truck full ofsupplies just sank into a lake, and
so he had brought her some minceback. But so Micheon laughs and says

(16:59):
the man of his word, Andyou know, so she c obviously remembers
that, but it's sweet that heremembered that she liked baking soda and spearmant
toothpaste, that that was her preference. So Rickens, like Rickens is like

(17:22):
a little seems a little horned upin the welcome center and seems like he's
ready to go at it with withshown right then and there, and uh,
that's yeah, walking to an eternalI want to answer that question at
the end because I actually remember thatpretty pretty well. But yeah, he's

(17:51):
he's trying to the horn dog's tryingto trying to get it on with his
wife in the welcome center, andhe looks almost almost pained that she steps
away or second she ends up findingsomething that says three pines cabin and finds
key hanging on the wall, andthey they set out to find their accommodations

(18:12):
for the night, and rick says, our lux holding up, which is
another callback to to the next worldbecause in fact, and I recognize you
right away because of the way thathe said it. It was the inflection

(18:32):
in his voice the way he deliveredthat line, our lucks holding up because
he said the exact same thing toDaryl in the Next World when they kept
finding when they kept finding stuff becausethey were just like, you know,
they were just running into luck leftand right in that episode. So this
was this episode was a big callbackto UH to the Next World. So

(18:57):
then we see them while talking andtalking about Thorn, and Rick is explaining
to Micheau and that he was tryingto get back to somebody that she loves.
She was trying to get back tosomeone she loves in South Africa,
but gave up after Okafoor found herand just kind of devoted herself to the

(19:21):
CRM after that. And by theway, guys, sorry for the sunglasses.
You know the deal. I've explainedit not already, but anyway,
they Rick tells Micheau that, likeafter he talks about how Thorn just kind
of gave up trying to get backto her loved one in South Africa,

(19:45):
he tells micheuon you know, hedenied it and he pushed her away,
but he never he never gave up. They then find a sign that says
protect the park from the people.The people from the park and the people
from the people, which which iskind of like the whole theme of The

(20:07):
Walking Dead, right. Uh,they come across some folks being attacked by
calcified walkers, and these things weregnarly looking. It was like they were
so crazy looking. I actually reallyloved these walkers. And after they save

(20:30):
these people, they the the youknow, one of the guys explains that
they're calcified from the steaments and andthen there are the wet ones, which
are which have baked and boiled varietieskind of like perogis, which you mentioned

(20:52):
because he was he spent time inPitts, Pittsburgh, which makes me think
are perogies not that of a fooditem in other parts of the country.
Like I'm from Chicago, and likeI mean where I live. One of
the closest towns to me is likethe parogi capital of the US, Whiting,

(21:12):
Indiana, and uh, like theParogi festival is a huge deal,
and like the Near's Eve Parogi dropis like one of the most famous Year's
Eve celebrations in the country, surprisinglywhich I just found out this year.

(21:34):
But uh, yeah, if ifanyone watching this is like lives in a
part of the country where parogis aren'treally like that popular or common. Let
me know, because I thought thatwas kind of curious that the guy had
to specify that, like he wasfrom Pittsburgh. But anyway, yuh,

(21:59):
Rick and know and offer them somesome noodles, which you know, I
they should know better by now,like we've seen this happen so many times.
Yeah, the popcorn walkers. We'veseen this happen so many times where
they show that they've got a bunchof supplies and that's always a mistake because

(22:23):
regardless of how nice they are towhoever they're saving, the people are gonna
want more. And of course theydid and pulled a gun on them,
and Rick and was Shown's reaction tothis was just hilarious. It was like,
you want to maybe roll this back, like you really don't know what
you're getting into. And of course, while marsha them all this tobby talk

(22:48):
makes me hungry. But but yeah, so of course they get the jump
on them, and you know,rick Is, rick Is is being his
his crazy the uh, his crazyhead to the side, the rick head
tilt. That's when you know thingsare serious. And he I thought this

(23:12):
was hilarious. He asks the otherguy what he thinks of Red's attitude about
you know, every man for himself, and guys like it's kind of hard
to think. And Rick's like,why don't you just listen and and he
just yells out I'm being which waspretty hilarious. They then take the noodles

(23:36):
back, take Red's gun and tossthe other gun in one direction and the
bullets and the other. Which wasa really interesting little exchange there because it
kind of like they didn't even reallysay anything to each other. They were
just kind of on the same wavelengthand understood what they were doing. Oh
and Dawn's back, Let's see ifshe uh, did you know, do

(24:00):
you think you think it's uh,you think it's good? Now it's well,
it completely gone off. I justhad Red flashing light on my reacharch,
so hopefully that's it back. I'mliterally sitting in shot, so hopefully
be good. So awesome. SoI'm just I'm getting to the to where

(24:29):
that they saved the people and Rickis Rick tosses the gun and in one
direction and micheone tosses the bullets inthe other direction, and it was it
was interesting because they you know,they didn't even really exchange any any words
there. They were just kind oflike they understood what each other was thinking

(24:52):
when that happened, and it showedthem back into their old war king relationship,
you know that they were just theywere in tools sync with each other
again. Yeah, and they theyjust went to help the people, you
know, they just knew they wouldhelp them no matter what. Yeah,

(25:14):
now, did you catch the Therewere a lot of callbacks in this episode
two to both The Next World andsay yes, yes, did you catch
the the callback with with Rick's lineto showon when they found the noodles?

(25:36):
No, I didn't. What wasthat? So in the Next World,
which you know with the episode whereBrick and Sewan hooked up. Yeah,
well first one, they're like,I noticed, yeah, by the toothpaste.
Yeah, there was the toothpaste.That was an obvious one. But

(25:56):
with the the way the episodeisode startedactually remind made me think of the Next
World because it started with them likeriding along in the car and they're in
a good mood and they're listening tomusic, you know, they're they're they're
listening to a song and and uh, it reminded me of It reminded me
of the Next World when you know, because that episode kind of started off

(26:18):
with Rick and Darryl, Yeah,getting in the car and and Rick's like
blasting a song and you know,they're being silly, and Darryl's like rolling
his eyes at him. Yeah,totally forgotten that. You're right, it's
exactly like that. Yeah, butthe there was a line that was that

(26:38):
that really that I noticed though whenthey found the noodles or no, it
wasn't when they found the noodles,I'm sorry, when when micheone found the
thing in the welcome center with threepines cabin and then found the key on
the wall, and Rick said,our luckholding up, And it was the

(27:00):
way he delivered the line, Ithink because he said the same thing to
Daryl uh in the Next World andhe said it the exact same way.
Like that line sounded like they almostcould have dubbed in the line from the
Next World, which is why,which is why I murd it. So

(27:25):
I wonder if he if that wasintentional for him to like deliver it spot
on the exact same way. Itwas kind of a callback, yeah,
I mean, knowing the attention todetail that Andrew Lincoln puts into everything he
does that would totally make sense.Yeah, yeah, yeah, he says
our lucks holding up and yeah,it was the same same thing he said

(27:47):
to Darryl. But so you know, they they find uh, they find
a cabin and Rick finds some JohnnyWalker black and he pours them a couple
of glasses and they're talking and Ilike, he tells me shown that he's
surprised she took back the noodles,and she's like, they tried to kill

(28:10):
us. You don't get noodles forthat. That was one of my favorite
lines of the episode. Yeah,that is my title I had I'm peeing
last night. I I'm peeing lastnight for the after show, I like,
just to everybody I'm paying. Yes, that was pretty amusing, but

(28:37):
uh yeah, this was this wasCuteche was like toothpaste, booze, what
do you move up to grimes?And and then he pulls out the necklace
which he was saying, which hewas hanging on to for you know,
a more special moment. Somebody sorry, somebody posted a screen show I think

(29:00):
from season five or six that Micheonehad a necklace identical to that before,
so yeah, she maybe lost itand here he is, you know,
he's replacing it, which is reallycool. That's another you know, throw
back to show their history, whichI think is really good. Yeah.
Jurisha actually reminded me of that lastnight. And for some reason I had

(29:22):
thought that she had an a necklacefor andre. I don't know why I
thought that. Oh but yeah,everyone was saying it was an m necklace.
Yeah, but uh so we thenso then you know, they they
he gives he gives her the necklaceand then they fall into bed. We

(29:45):
then see someone in black outside thecabin sneaking up on it. Now,
did you think that this was wasGabriel at first or did you think that
this was Yeah, I thought itwas Gabriel because when we saw Gabriel at
the start, he had you know, he was just a who did figure?
Yeah I did. I assumed itwas Gabriel. Yeah, yeah,
that's that's what I thought too.Yes, But and then especially since we

(30:11):
then see Gabriel in the next scene, since it cuts away to a scene
of Gabriel right away, Yes,and this time the screen says three years
ago, and we see him gatheringsome some water from a stream, and
we see Janis approaching him. Andhe he's he's a little you know,

(30:37):
trepidacious at first, but he hugsher and asks if she's coming back,
and she tells him no, shejust wanted to see him. But he
can't tell anybody that he saw her, and he tells her that he had
been trying to find her and alsotells her that Rick died to bring people

(31:00):
together, and you know, Jada'sit's like he died really so they think
he's dead, all right, That'sthat's cool, That's that's good. Gabriel
tells him that his mistake wasn't trustingher, it was not having faith in

(31:21):
her, and you know, hereminds her of who she was. You
like, Rick saw something in herand which is why he brought her into
the group, and you know,he's he's still kind of he still kind
of sees that in her, andhe's not wrong, because she wouldn't be

(31:42):
there if there wasn't a small partof her a van in there. And
she, you know, she tellshim she can't talk about the things that
that she's been a part of orwill be a part of, and he
kind of pushes her a little bitand he's like, you know, hey,
clergy confidentiality, you can you cantalk to me. He's like,

(32:07):
you weren't even here, Anne,And and this confused me. She said,
I forgive you. Why was shewhy was she telling him she forgave
him? Yeah, I don't understandthat. But either this whole scene had
me a bit confused because I thought, because he said about the radio,
you know, I was looking foryou, but you found me. I
thought, has she contacted him beforethis? Or you know, when we

(32:30):
at this cold open when we seehim and he hears a helicopter and he's
like, oh no, does heknow that that's Anne? Or does he
think she was just out in thewoods hanging around for three years or for
however long it's been. And Iwas a bit a bit confused about how
this had all come about. Theyweren't super clear on that, and so

(32:52):
I don't know had they had aconversation before this? Had she contacted him
on the radio and they'd had aconversation, So this was like a continuation
of a conversation, which is whyyou know, it doesn't it doesn't entirely
enlighten us on everything that's gone on. And I don't know, I'm assuming

(33:13):
she's saying she forgives him for losingfaith in her. But it's really I
think I'm going to say it,I think this part was gimble. It
was very gimble. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was very gimbal,
very gimple. The Rick and Michawingparts will put that down to deny,

(33:34):
And I think it was because Iyou know, I saw some of the
heard about some of the cast diaries. But yeah, this, the the
whole Jadis and Gabriel stuff is verygimble speak, which is like talking around
it rather than directed conversation. Soit's really not entirely clear what's going on,
certainly not at the start. Obviously, it gets more clear as we

(33:58):
as we get the form there intheir timeline at CAPSU. Yeah, for
sure. And you know, Iespecially have to, like especially had to
was confused because of the last timethat we saw them together. I mean,
like if anyone needs to apologize,yeah, yeah, I mean she

(34:22):
knocked him out exactly, Yeah,like what the hell? But so the
next thing, the next scene,it's, uh, it's the day after
we see you know, the personsneaking around the cabin and we realized it

(34:46):
was it was Jada's slash and Jadaswell, she's Jadas so but she wakes
up showing and Rick and and uhshe was like mourning love birds. And
this this was another thing that remindedme of another callback to of the Next

(35:08):
World, with like Jesus showing upin their bedroom. Yeah yes, I
got that one and then leaping outof bad At least they had clothes on
this time. The last time theywere completely naked, so yeah, yeah,
yeah we did. We did notsee uh Rick and and micheone spots
this time, but uh they Thiswas kind of funny. Rick was like,

(35:37):
or Michelle was like, do youthink she's alone? And Rick was
like, she's alone, and andI bet no one knows she's here.
She's like, that's just rude.But uh he he makes he makes he
she makes, Jadas makes micheone andtie them both up, and Janas explains

(36:01):
that she got suspicious when they wereboth gone. It was just a little
too convenient. But then you know, she saw the helicopter wreck and she
kind of got triggered thinking about theuh you know, like her basically rescuing

(36:23):
Rick and taking him away in thehelicopter. And it was interesting to me
that they I actually I remember thatspider really that she mentioned. Yeah,
and it was because when they showedthat before they showed Rick and the helicopter,
they like, the camera focused ona spider, no memory about whatsoever.

(36:47):
Yeah, I like, I mean, I've seen all the episodes so
many times, so like, andyou know, my ADHD brain hangs on
to like the most ridiculous trivial memoriesforever, and I remember that spider.
But it was really strange to methat, like that, Jade Is just
somehow remembered staring at this spider whileshe was waiting for Rick to become conscious.

(37:15):
But yeah, it triggered the memory, and she was like, you
know, she she remembered, Imean, Rick surviving like something that should
have killed him, and so shejust like she started getting ideas. And
then she saw a bunch of deadwalkers and found a trail of Ramen discarded

(37:40):
Ramen packets all along Highway ninety andI was like, oh, okay,
they're alive, and uh, youknow, and they were headed obviously headed
for Virginia. So there was aworld beyond reference in here. I don't

(38:01):
know if you knew that, Noone didn't. So Jadis said that she
was thinking about someone else she killedwho was instrumental in her becoming who she
was, and they had left thingson said between them, and she didn't
want that to be the case withRick and Showan before she killed them,

(38:27):
and she was she was talking aboutHawk from the World Beyond because I guess
she killed Houck and he uh,he called her Anne mm hmm, which
was an interesting choice. Yeah,and uh. She was like, I'm

(38:50):
I'm not that woman and I'm notthat you still think I'm her. I'm
not. She's like, I'm notthat woman from the heap either, and
she, you know, says theline we take we don't bother, which
was something that Jadas said a fewtimes in the main show when she was
still Jadas, And she says she'sdecorated Warrant Officer Jada Stokes of the Civic
Civic Republic Military Defender of the Republic. She explains if she lets them go

home and another warrant officer finds them, her connection would be discovered and all
her important work would be ruined.So it's not just about saving her own
life. She's basically just being veryself important here. Yeah, basically saying
like you know, she's too valuableto die pretty much, and you know,

they tell her she's she stole theirfamily. She then tries to shoot
them both, but they both likeyou know, with their their superpowers,
yet managed to jump off the justin time. Rick I thought that,
like, this was pretty smart.Rick dives under the bed and then basically

just flips it over toward her andthen micheone hits her with the with the
tiny axe and it lands kind oflike wet and like in her side or
in her back. Yeah, yeah, thank you. Yeah, so she
she's in bad shape, and uh, you know Rick, Rick stops Machean

from killing her, but uh butthey you know, they escape, They
all escape the cabin. We thenget a flash to the screen says two
years ago and Jadis and Gabriel arein the woods having tea. So this
was exactly a year after we sawthem meeting the first time. Jadas asks

how Rick's wife is doing and hehe says, she's a way helping people.
So she was Misshown had clearly alreadyleft by this point. Yeah,
and you know, he asks whyshe called him, why she called her

(41:22):
his wife, and she's like,weren't Thane he's like, well, not
officially, but he's like. Hetells her that Rick had wanted him to
marry them on the bridge, andGabriel just wasn't really into the idea because

(41:44):
he was just so kind of nihilisticand didn't really have a lot of faith
in the future and was off beingdepressed in the woods and he was sitting
down and found a ring in thedirt at his feet, which was a
little too convenient, Yes, butI guess that was meant to be a

(42:09):
sign from God for Gabriel. Yeah, you know, yeah, yeah exactly,
and uh he yeah, he thoughtit was a sign, and so
he considered, and he picked itup, and he considered putting it somewhere
where where Rick would find it andalso see it as a sign, and

uh, you know, he thenhoped like he'd be able to marry them,
but then you know, the bridgeexplosion happened, and uh, you
know, he pulls out the ringand it's on a chord, and Jadis
tells him that she's been looking forwardto their visit all year because it kind

(43:00):
of almost makes her feel like herself, like her old self again, whereas
like her relationship with the CRM waswas kind of like she sees the CRMs
is an unnecessary means to an endor the greater good. Yeah, it

(43:22):
shows it showed she really because Ithink we spoke about it on here.
We spoke that all she cared aboutwas herself and her personal survival. But
this is her trying to convince Gabrielthat no, she really she really believes
in the crm's power and their ideal, idealism of what they want to achieve.

(43:42):
And she and I thought it wasinteresting. It's like, is she
trying to convince herself that she reallybelieves it, you know, or does
she really believe it that she's saying, No, No, it's about it's
about more than just survival. It'sabout what comes after. So I thought
that was interesting that they'd addressed somethingthat we talked about. I don't mean
they saw us and just mean theyknew that, you know, that's what

(44:07):
people would think that j this issomeone who's just out for herself. But
I think, you know, inthese scenes, it shows she's really conflicted,
she's not quite sure, and she'strying to talk herself into it.
No, this is this is theright thing, the crm's vision is right,
and I'm believe in that as acause. Yeah, yeah, so

yeah. She then Gabriel tells herthat they're low on food and asks if
she and her people can help,and she's like, you know, I
can't, which obviously she couldn't becauseshe already explained to him that, you
know, she can't. She can'tlet anybody know about like her connection to

their you know, like but theykind of if she reveals if she if
she helps oh, I'm sorry,if she helps them, it shows it
means telling the CRM that they exist, so it puts them in danger,
so it doesn't help them at all. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah,

so that, you know, theconversation just kind of like she realizes
this isn't this is just starting togo nowhere, and so she sets off
to leave and he gives her thering, telling her maybe it'll give her
something that she needs and he's gettingsomething that he needs by giving it to
her, and he says, Shesays, next year, same day,

same place, and he says,if I'm alive, and uh, and
that's our halfway point. Mm hmm. Let's let's cross our fingers that my
signal stays stored. I can tellI'm blogging a little bit, but hopefully

to the cabin area the Three PintsJail and Rick and was shown her in
a car chase with Jadis and andthey're behind her and they're chasing her and
they're saying, you know, Rix, they're having an argument about what to
do because Rick saying, we can'tkill her because she'll destroy Alexandria and and

but you know, they're going tohave to kill her, and they said,
well, what what do we doafter she that's what or how are
we going to deal with this?And as the car chase goes on,
they swap places they you know,she's behind them, and eventually they're side
by side and they spot someplace thatthey can knock her off the road and

down, and that's exactly what theydo, and she crashes into a tree.
And by the way, I justwant to explain my my, my,
my little little middle nickname for today. So that is a like there
was a there were a couple oflines and during the car chase were like,

you know, they were I forgetwhich one of them was, Like
it's like I don't give an animalto ask about some about some pasta,
and and it's it made me thinkof the show vander pump Rolls, which
I'm I, which I'm obsessed with, and there it's not about the pasta

is a very famous line from vanderPump Rolls. So I when they when
the pasta lines came up, Ijust immediately like, it immediately made me
think of it's not about the pastaanyway. So there's a there's a lot
in the The Walking Day that's aboutpasta, because of course, you know

spaghetti Tuesday's from and that's exactly it. So Micha get out their car and
they see that Jedis car is empty, so she's she's gone, but there
are walkers around and and Rix's youwhich ways to the jump point? This

is this is the thing. Theythink. Jerdis is trying to get to
the jump point to contact CRM.And so they go off, and then
we returned to our three three friends, Red and the other two and Red
still fuming over what happened, andthey're approached by Jeris, who is injured

and approaches with her hands in theair. You know, I'm not here
to cause a problem. I'm actuallyneed your help. I'm being chased by
some dangerous people. And the guyI loved reads lighter. He said,
you look like Hipposhit sister brilliant line. And you know, she's clearly injured.

(49:04):
So she she obviously is trying toget their help, and she looks
at the women. Unfortunately I don'tknow if what her name was, but
she said, you're tall, youknow, and she's got short hair.
I can see a similarity here.You can see where she's going with this.
We go back to Ricky Machone andthey're still talking about what they're going

(49:28):
to do, and then they're saying, you know, if we can find
which base she hit the filing,because there's so many bases, we can't
just search them all, but wehave to take her alive so we can
find that out, which, ofcourse, Micheon is not keen to take
her life. I just you know, she just wants to kill her.
And he's but rick saying call herand that really, you know, unsettled

(49:52):
her and and maybe we can connectto that part of her that she still
is in there. Anne is inthere, and we can't, you know,
we can't risk Alexandria so and andhe pleads to Macheau and to say,
you know, look how you've helpedme, you brought me out completely.

(50:12):
You could do the same to her. Maybe we can, we can
help her. And Shaun's like,oh yeah, okay, but if not,
I'm still gonna kill it. Okay. So they end up in this
building. I don't know what kindof building it is, but it's a
big like warehouse kind of thing,which obviously somebody has been using as a
settlement because it's full of curtains anddrakes hanging over, you know, dividing

it up into living quarters. Iguess. So they Yeah, he was
part of it. It was likeone of the it was some kind of
exhibit that was part of the parkbecause there was like a sign in there
that said how guysers work and allright, yeah, so they just yeah,
some people are just kind of Itactually reminded me the way it was,

the way it looked. It actuallykind of reminded me of of where
Alpha and her husband and Alfa andLidia and Alfa's husband we're staying kind of.
Yeah. And so they followed hertrail, followed blood into the air
and there and he spots Rick spotsa hooded figure and follows it, and

of course it's not JADUs, it'sthe woman and she judged around and she
says, oh no, we wejust she promised us food. She said
she would take us to her hergroup, and the other two red and
the other guy revealed themselves. They'vegot their guns back, and Jadas says
that there's four on two Rick.But Rick goes back to his earlier conversation

with these two people and he says, you know, we can still roll
this back. We can do thisagain. You know you didn't take the
opportunity last time. We could doit this time. But no, they
have a fight, and sadly,the woman is written by the walkers that
are there, and Jadis shoots andRicky Machone hide and we go back to

(52:12):
Jedis and Gabriel again. This isthis time, it's one year ago,
and this takes us, this isthe clarifying the position. This takes us
to after they have found Commonwealth andmoved to Commonwealth, and very likely after
Rosita has died because of what Gabrielsays about their situation, and Gabriel says,

(52:38):
and you know, I don't understandwhat it is, but you know,
he's clearly happy to be there again. He wants to see her,
and JADUs is saying, you know, every time I see you every other
year, I've done some worse things. You know, this is escalating,
and so she's losing that part ofher over the years, but every time

(53:02):
she sees him, it connects herback to it, and Gabriel wants her
to tell him about it. Confessedhim. He's acting you know, I
know I'm not fond of this storyline, but I don't think it was like
a romantic meeting. He is almostacting like her priest. He's saying,
you know, tell me your problemsand I'll absolve you or help you if

(53:24):
I can. But she can't.She says, no, I can't do
it. But Gabriel is trying totell her how much she enjoys this.
He likes having this secret that theyhave, and the very fact that she
has these dicks, you know what, it proves she's still she's still there.
And the kiss, Gabriel desperately wantsher to come back, and she's

(53:49):
She says she can't, and Gabrielis annoyed, and he says, you
know, all I know about yourpeople is that you hold supplies while other
people are suffering. And JADUs isangry. I'm sorry, I made myself
vulnerable. I'm and she points hergun at him and we go back.

Oh, I hated this. Ireally thought she was going to kill him,
like because I was. I wasn'ttotally clear around that on this on
the timeline yet at that point,and I was like, oh no,
like we saw Gabriel alive at theend of of the main show, is

this later and then she kills himand he's dead now I was. I
was really upset. Yes, Ithought she was gonna kill him because because
we had that one year jump atthe end of the show after you know,
the Commonwealth, but also Micheon hadthat one year that she spent recovering
from the cloring gas that it's possiblethat the timelines could have been Yeah,

and we could after that. Souh back to her genius with Ricky Mashone
and she says, you know,I knew that the two of you are
unstoppable together. I should have known. But your kids will die, you
know if you if you kill me, everybody in Alexandria is going to die.

And you're including your children. So, and she's standing and there's walkers
approaching, and she says, youknow, even if the walkers kill me,
that's what's going to happen because ofher remind you of of Darryl's that
Darryl's little little speech to Richard aboutCarol. Yes, yeah, that's exactly

what I was thinking of. Yeah, if I get hit by walkers,
die, if I get hit bylightning, Yeah, bring me back to
that. This is a very differentversion. Yeah, And so, so
Michaude approaches with her gun and youthink she's going to shoot, but no,

she shoots the walkers around her andleaves and standing and she says,
and Jada says, you know,you have a choice in this life.
And I thought this was interesting becausethis is essentily what the entire Walking Dead,
and it's all of it's been offcome down to, which is that

you keep your own humanity or yousave humanity. If you want to do
good, you have to sacrifice something. And Michaun says, she's right,
you have we have to sacrifice.And she says a very oh, oh

(56:50):
we've lost your sound, are youare either? Oh? No? Oh
no, we were doing so goodwe were doing so good. I'm gonna
I'm gonna give I'm gonna give youa I'm gonna give donnas. Okay,

Yeah, yeah, we were doingso good. I can is so funny
because I could hear what you're sayingwith her frees, but I can't do
anything money. I don't know ifit's because we've got really bad weather at
the moment. I don't know ifthat's what's causing it. But we're nearly
at the end, so yeah,she says. Michone says the really interesting

line, which is that we thiscan't end with us going home. And
I thought was this talking to theaudience that they're saying, you know,
everybody went into the show going,oh, I can't wait see Rick reunited
with Judith and RG and Darryl andYou're and everybody else, and you're like,
no, they're not going to begoing home. This is a bit
of Machon's let us down. Mashownstrying to let us down. Easy.

(58:00):
Yeah, yes, she say,don't get your hops up, We're not
going home. Ye. So sothey they you know, they have it.
They have a conversation and Rick saying, you know, Michean and Rick
are saying, can we make adeal and and we'll Rick says, you
know, Michean will give you enoughsupplies to get to the jump site.

(58:23):
I'll go with you, and Micheonwill get away and can go home as
long as you allow Michean to leave. And and you know they have a
conversation, well why should I trustyou? But they have to and and
so she does. Jus makes thedeal Rick and Michean drops her gun and

(58:45):
goes off to get the med kit. Rick drops his gun in his bag
and he comes out. Jay justdrops hers. But of course it's Jedius.
It's never that simple. And soshe pulls our gun, another gun
from inside her jacket, and andyou know, the two of them have

(59:06):
double crossed each other essentially. Butbecause Michean comes out with a big ass
gun. I don't know where shegot that, but a big gun.
And so it's a standoff. Butthe what the Walkers are coming back and

(59:27):
Rick shoots them, but unfortunately Judisis attacked by the walkers, badly bitten
on her neck and it's it's allover basically for her. And then so
but Rick shoot shoots the walkers sothat they don't eat her so she can
have a conversation with them, andshe has a I really I really like

Pollyanna's acting in this. I thoughtit was really good. I'm glad they
gave her this scene to Yeah,I did you like? I okay?
I I I had a big problemwith it in general because I thought I
thought it was very kind of overthe top and contrived and just really kind

of corny and cheesy. And butbut I thought, but I loved Pali.
But like you said, I lovePollyanna's acting in the scene. I
thought she and it is something thatthe Walking Dead does all the time,
is that they have these big speeches. You know, Andrea did it when
she died, and you know,after they've been bitten and they talked through

all their big things, and youknow, it is cheesy. It's a
very trophy thing. And you know, she has her see the Light moment,
so to speaks. So she says, she says, you, you
know the dossiers and the Cascadia base, you can destroy it and you and

go home. And she's she realizesthat everything that Gabriel said was true,
that the fact that she saw him, the fact that she kept the Alexandria
secret. It wasn't just about protectingherself. She was protecting them. She
kept all them alive as well.And you know they she knows that that

they're right, that the CRM isnot the answer, which is which is
what Rashaan says, and she tellsher we're going to stop. We're you
know, I promise you this.Rashaan's like, You're not going to have
an easy death in that sense.I'm going to tell you we're going to
end the CRM. And she hasthis whole bit about I wish I'd died

an artists, and we flashed backto her being an artist in the junkyard
and the art she'd created on thewall and hilltop of of Glenn and Beth
and all those who died, andshe takes out from her from from her
in her coat, she takes outthe ring on it on a card that

Gabriel had given her, and shegives it to Rec and says, you
know, do what you said youwere going to do, and so Rec
takes out his gun and end herlife before she dies. So then we
see Rick and Machone in the woodsand the scene that a lot of people
are are you know, have beenwaiting six seven years to see because if

we all just assumed, and Ithink most people did, that they had
got married off screen in that thatone year time gap in season nine.
But it was nice to know thatwe haven't missed it. Yeah, And
because I hate when everything happened offscreen, because you know, that is

the Walking Dead is it is guiltyof that a lot and so much.
Yeah, Glenn, Glenn not findingout, you know, on screen,
of that Maggie was pregnant is oneof the things that I'm most annoyed about
about the show forever. But Ricksays to to Mischau, ne know,
he gets down on one knee andAy tells her it's a broken world and

you're the only thing that puts itback together. And he says till my
last breath, I am yours,and Michau and says that, you know,
I could never have imagined this,you know, such a short time
ago, she thought he was deadand that she was never going to see
him again, even if she stillhad that faith that he was alive,

she just, you know, shewasn't going to And of course they went
through so much when he thought shethought he was going to let her go,
and she walked away. So she'sover the moon and she tells him
I'm yours and they kiss, andthen we go back to see that Gabriel
is waiting in the woods now forJadis, and of course she's she's not

going to show that. The lastshot is of a helicopter looming interview to
take rick back to the CRM,because they're going to stick to this plot
plan. He is going to goback to the CRM. He is going
to get the Escheloon briefing, andthey're going to do something to stop the
CRM, which we'll see how thatworks out for them. Yeah, yeah,

I what did you think? Sowhat did you think of this episode
overall? I actually I enjoyed itbecause it was fast moving. I think,
you know, last week was reallygood, but it was a very
stage like episode. There was alot of just the two characters talking.
And I liked this because we hada lot more movement in it, and
we had progression of the plot,where last week it was progression of Ricky

Mischoon's relationship, and this was theplot moving forward. Because everybody was saying
at the end of Webster of war. How was it going to wrap this
up in two episodes? And this, you know, takes us a lot
further. I'm really surprised. Isaw some comments online. A lot of
people didn't understand why they couldn't justkill Jadis. They were like, you
know, why can't they just killher? And we were like, have

you paid attention to this? She'sgoing to kill kill, you know,
destroy Alexandria. That's why. Yeah. So so I'm glad that was all
fleshed out more that this idea thatshe had kept Alexandria's secret was something that

actually she cared about these people andshe didn't and it showed, you know,
Gabriel was the one she cared aboutmost and that she still had this
ongoing relationship with him, and shewanted to protect all of those people and
to do that she had to keepthem secret. I liked that we got
more on Jadis. I'm just Ijust wish they hadn't done rectrol story toiling

on Gabriel to do it. Yeah, yeah, you know, And I
said this on I I tweeted latelast night that like, you know,
I was seeing a lot of alot of Gabriel hate on the timeline.
But you know, I mean it'sbasically because of Gabriel that Jadas gave up

the location of the Dassier. Yes, you know so, I mean he
Gabriel kind of save the day.Yeah, he did. My name is
Gabriel Stokes. Yes, yeah,I mean I would, I would say
he was the MVP in this episode. Yeah, I agree, Yeah,

totally, because he was the onethat kept that connection to On rather than
Jadas and kept that part of heralive and gave her a reason to keep
that part of alive and not suppressit, and so it was still there
by the time that Reck and michuand were encountering or together. Yeah,

is I like, just a coupleof days ago, I was on Twitter
and I saw somebody tweet something andI don't remember who it was. It
was somebody that I that I followpretty regularly, and I don't know which

remember who it was. But somebodyhad made it, had posted a tweet,

and it was great timing for meto see this tweet, and it
was something about how like something tothe effect of, you know, TV
takes it so takes itself so seriouslythese days, and it's you know,
it used to be like things likelike plot holes and suspension of disbelief.

We're just you know, we're alot more accepted and they're not really tolerated
as much anymore. And we can'tjust like mindlessly. People can't have lost
the ability to just like mindlessly enjoya show without thinking, without thinking about

still in my head, and Ithink it helped me appreciate this episode a
little more. I would say thisis my third favorite so far of the

I was like, I thought,all the other stuff in the episode
is really sweet, but at theend, I was like, oh god,

can't know. It's too much,too much, too much. Yeah,
I think we have a thing withthis this show. In them, you
can really feel the two inputs fromGimpal and from Deny that are conflicting.

That She's like, this is anepic love story, this is all about
them, and he's like, yeah, I am. And it really meets
in this episode, and those twoconflicting things get a bit, you know,
it can make it seem a bitridiculous because the tone of the two
things are so different. It's canbe jarring. That's what I was trying

to say. It's jars you fromhow romantic those scenes are. And then
we've got the action and the youknow, walkers and all that stuff.
Yeah, but as you see,if you if you switch your brain off
a bit, you can enjoy it. And that's the thing is that time

in a life that was a storythat carried on. There was something interesting
more than just I'm trying to survive. He had this conflict about his faith,
losing faething and belief it completely,but still acting the role of the
of the priest, but then gaininghis faith again at that was that was
really interesting. And here we actuallysaw that faith in action. We saw

him help someone, which I don'tthink we got enough of in the in
the main series. So I likethat aspect. Yeah, yeah, I
did too. And Seth Gilliam issuch a great actor. He's just he's
so fantastic. I just I lovehim on screen. Yeah, he's very

charismatic, he has a he hasa really good presence, and he he
really exhibits that kind of peaceful power. You know when he's in a scene,
you just feel you feel he's powerfulbut very calm, which is an
