Speaker 1 (00:15):
What's up everybody. I am Kelly piano recital Keene. That's
piano spelled p E E I.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
A N O the correct way, obviously, yes, and I
am done. I don't believe in coincidences.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Glenn, great, great theme for this for this whole season.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Really yes, yes exactly.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
And and our our director of human resources is joining
us in the background chewing out our phone banana.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
It's our chaprone to make sure we don't do anything libelous.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yes, yes, exactly. Just a couple of things.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
First of all, I want to thank everybody who has
followed our channel and commented on our episodes and shared
our content and all that. We've been getting quite a
few messages lately and comments, and that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I love it. I'm so great to see it. I'm
grateful for it.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
But I just want to give everybody heads up that
if we don't respond for a really long time.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Please don't take it personally.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Like we've got a really bad situation going on here
with like, you know, people some not some kind of
CD people like that are making that are making social
media kind of hard for us at the moment, So
just please don't take it personally. We're just not on
social media very much because of it, but we're hoping
(01:59):
that'll change soon. We're we're there's got there's a lot
of things brewing right now, and hopefully we will be
getting some social media help soon and that will not
be the case quite as much anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Also, because I know that.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Many of many of the Walking Dad fans, just from
seeing it on social media are are big fans of
the show from if you're not aware, we are, of course,
I forgot again to upload the the graphic. Oh but
we are, so I apologize that. But we are giving
(02:41):
away a David Alpay cameo. David Alpay, who plays Jade
I'm from. If you haven't seen his intro on his
cameo page, it's hilarious.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
So if you you will definitely.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Enjoy getting a cameo from him if you win, So
check that out. It's like, watch any of our episodes
and join our after shows if you want to find
out how you can win.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
And that's really exciting.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
And then oh, also just a little kind of PSA here,
I was really distraught, And again I'm sorry, guys. This
doesn't necessarily refer to refer to the Book of Carol
Walking Dead universe. But it kind of does because last season,
(03:35):
or not last season, I'm sorry, the Ones who Live,
Oh yeah, during The Ones Who Live when that was airing,
there was a lot of stuff spoiled.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
And it was really unfortunate.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
It really undermines the cast and crew's hard work, but
it also really hurts other content creators because people were
like on screeners to get their content done in a
timely manner, especially people like us who need extra time
because you know, we have disabilities, and we had to
(04:11):
fight extra hard to keep our screeners for for Derald Dixon.
And fortunately I'm not seeing a lot of well.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
No, okay, I take that back, because AMC.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
It wasn't. It wasn't people, it was.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
A yes this season. It was AMC France. That basically
just spoil the entire season. But it's I'm unfortunately this
Sunday's episode of From, which happens to be my favorite,
has been heavily spoiled by the leaks are coming from
(04:53):
one place, but you know they're getting shared, and it's
really unfortunate. So if you happen to see that, just
please don't watch like we got an exclusive that we're
sharing on our social media's that's okay, like a safe
MGM wants us to share that stuff. But if you
see anything else other than that clip, which we're not
(05:15):
the only ones who've got it, I mean lots of
people got it, but if you see anything else flying around,
please tag MGM so they can see it and get
it pulled down because it's just not cool.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
It really hurts a lot of people.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Yeah, So yeah, that's just my psa.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I mean it was something as well that was happening
a little bit with Daryld Dixon and where people if
people are sharing bits of screeners or bits of scenes
out took content, it can completely change how it's perceived,
how the episode is perceived, so you know, it damages
(05:57):
it in a lot of ways as well as for screener.
So just it's a cool thing.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, Like I already got heat because I've been hyping
up the next season from so much because it's my
favorite and the from fandom is very overly critical, and
they were expecting a lot of people were expecting because
because I felt so strongly about this episode, they were
(06:22):
just automatically expecting that what they personally wanted to see
in it. It happen, and now they're all upset because
you know XYZ didn't happen. It's just, you know, it
really diminishes the value of all the hard work that
everyone put into it, and it's really a bummer. But anyway,
(06:48):
according to my notes, the title for this episode, yes
is called Kelly eats Jim's Arts Yummy.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Okay, yeah, uh huh the work of my husband.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I thought maybe that was your supervisor behind you go.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Now, my my husband was fixing some stuff on the
computer yesterday while I had my notes opened and they
weren't saved yet, and so yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Believe it's titled invisible. I don't know how you say
invisible in French, but it's invisible invisible.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
It's like that visible.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
I think something like that visible.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
The uh.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
By the way, I already I already told non I'm
giving out a lot of Suspenders awards for this for
this episode. So the synopsis is Carol hunts for information,
Darryln is Bell race to save one of their own
Beuvoir groups, and no Ash in this episode unfortunately.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah they which which I like, yes, which anytime I
have to apologize to this episode because because on Twitter
before you know the all the episodes of Lead. Someone
asked me what my episodes were in order, and I
put this last. Having watched it again, it's not a
(08:28):
bit higher up because there's some good Carol stuff. I
was just being colored by the end. But this is
not a bad episode. This is I think this is
one of the more even episodes in the sense of,
you know, we had these two separate stories and now
(08:49):
they're starting to come together, which gives it a more
unified feel. So, yeah, it's a good episode.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah, yeah, yeah it was. It was a good episode,
but there was just so.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Much ridiculousness about it.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah, I'm going to have a really a really full
bitch list at the end of it.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
But uh yeah, let's uh, let's just dive in. I
really liked the opening of this, yes, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Anytime we get to see a character in like as
the outbreak starts and you know what was going on, yeah,
it's a lot of fun. So it opens with a
pre outbreak scene at the Louver and we see that
Janey is saying, well, she's not she's not Madame Janey,
She's just Marian. At that point, Marian is a custodian.
(09:47):
There a woman addressing some a woman's addressing some tourists upfront.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
They're all like standing in front of the Mona.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Lisa and a kid accidentally drops a can of soda
and Marian isn't really moving right away, and this very
bitchy woman comes up and says, stop staring and do
your job and calls her a lazy cow. We don't
like her, and she goes to clean it up. And
(10:19):
the woman we saw from the last episode it was
the last episode, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay at the end,
her right hand, her current right hand, Sabine is her name.
Sabine comes up to her, and Sabine is also a Christodian,
and so this is how they know each other. Sabine
comes up to her and says, don't don't let that
(10:40):
asshole talk to you like that, and Marian says, I
heard her husband has cancer, and Sabine's like.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Is that your fault? So this is a very interesting.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Side of her that we're seeing it, you know, it's
that we're seeing of her she is in we get
more like it intensifies in the next scene, she's very like,
she's kind of very accepting of negativity. I guess you
would say, yeah, yeah, very like kind of complacent.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Yeah, I think, like you know, when she's standing watching
all the cheers, it's like there's obviously a simmering resentment
that she thinks these people don't appreciate the art. Yeah,
she's you know that she's looking after because you know,
the kids are messing around or whatever, so you can
(11:35):
see that there's some disharmony, but as you say, it's
a sense of whatever. That's why, you know.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yeah, pretty much.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
So Sabine asks Shanay if she'll be at the meeting
and she says, I'll try, and Sabine says, you know,
don't try, just do it. So we cut to the
workers meeting and it turns out their meaning about going
on strike that coming Saturday, and you know, somebody makes
the comment that the weekend is going to be a
disaster without the janitorial staff.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Oh will.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, for sure, and you know, Sabine says that they'll
be handing out pamphlets to tourists explaining what's going on,
and Marian says, you know.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
The tourists don't care.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
They're there to take selfies with the Mona Lisa and
not worry about French healthcare. So we see this kind
of you know, repeating this like complacency, and.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
She one thing that I wanted to point out.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
She used the word selfie and I had to look
it up because I knew that the word kind of
took off sometime around that time period. Yeah, so it
it actually did take off in twenty twelve. But yeah,
so it's kind of like on the line of whether
(12:55):
or not it's correctly accurate. But uh, Sabine explains, it's
a national walkout, which is great because you know that
just means that France is gonna Frances, the French people
are gonna die at all. And just then everyone's phones
(13:25):
start going nuts with some type of alert.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
I thought that was Yeah, I thought that's accurate. Everybody
used to have actual sounds on their phone and everybody
just has on vibrate.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Yeah, yeah, exactly, and uh they they all get called inside.
We we then see her on the phone to her husband.
It's nighttime at this point and he's just getting to
the louver and they're they're communicating on their phones. She
tells him that she'll meet him outside and he tells
(14:00):
her they won't let they run up to each other at.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
The glass, and he tells her they won't let him in,
and she.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
So she tries to go out to him, but a
guard shoves her back and they say, no one's going
in or out, and we kind of see some walker
sambling around behind him, and then they're they're on the phone,
and you know, he tells her it's gonna be okay,
and they exchange I love you or detames and he
(14:29):
is then quickly devoured by a walker right in front
of her.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Yes, it happens very fast. This is a bookending scene
if you think about this scene and the scene that
comes later with Daryl and Isabelle. But you know, the
both sides of a wall haunt, you know today and
her husband the hands on the glass and exchanging I
(14:55):
love you. But there's a difference between the second time
this happens in the Yeah, you know somebody her handsome
husband I have.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
To see very good looking and yeah he yeah, someone
got chomped in that one.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
And Darryl doesn't doesn't speak fresh.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
But no, I feel what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Oh my gosh, but uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
So she she goes back into the hall where the
Mona Lisa is and it's it's empty define there's nobody
in there, and she this was a really cool shot,
like she's standing there in front of the Mona Lisa crying,
and the camera focuses on the painting and then pans
out to show Carol staring at it in Yeah, I
(15:55):
love that too. And that's that's their headquarters that the're in, right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
so yeah, So Carol's staring at the Mona Lisa in
Jane's headquarters, and Janey approaches her and asks Carol.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
What the dining hall or something?
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Yes, yes, the dining hall. Yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Janey approaches Carol and asks her what she sees in
her in her in the Mona Lisa's expression, and Carol
says she thinks she looks sad, and Janay says she
sees a secret in her smile, which which I think
is how a lot of people see that painting, Like, yes, yeah,
(16:39):
that's how kind of how I always though it, Like,
you know, she has that look about her, like there's
something she knows that, yes, you know.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Something, something she's keeping secret. And that's when Jannie says,
a woman, a woman gazed on by millions but never
actually seen. They're totally speaking about cattle as well, you
know what I mean. It's like, yeah, she's she seemed
what she truly understood.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Yeah, yeah, very much.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
So yeah, talking about the Mona Lisa, it applies to
the Mona Lisa, it applies to Jane, it applies.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
To Carol exactly. Yeah, yes, they're both Lisa and this scene.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Yes, yes, definitely, And she comments that, you know, she
she realizes that Carol's new and Carol tells her that
she just got there and she says she came.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
From a little east of there.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Yeah. I love that, like.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
Yeah, just just a little yes.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
She she says she came to Paris as a tourist
thirteen years ago and got stuck. And Janney says when
they when the outbreak started, they protected the art and
not and not the people, which I hate to say it,
but that's how it.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
That's what would happen.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
It totally is yeah, exactly exactly what would happen. Yeah,
just in the UK last week, two people went to
prison for two years for throwing you know, they were
stop oil activists and they were in prison for two
years for throwing paint or soup. I think it was
(18:27):
a painting, you know, which has a protective glass on it.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Still just for doing that was two years and people
are like, well, they didn't do any damage, so yeah,
that's what they do for to protect the art.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Yeah, I mean it's like that sort of art is
so precious.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Yeah, and you know, absolutely should be protected at all costs.
But I mean it's historical, it's yeah, exactly so important.
But you know, during an outbreak like that, it's it's
not the most important. But unfortunately that's what would happen
in real you know, in real life exactly.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Yes, And if they didn't know what was happening, if
it was just like a terror threat or something like that,
then they're just you know, being cautious shutting it down.
But I thought it's interesting that this is Jenny's villain
origin story. Is not you know, when they do men
who you're trying out to be villains and we see
(19:28):
and it's quite often that they it's a personal thing.
They feel they've been slighted or whatever. And I thought
it's quite good that this is Jenny showing that it
was about the little people that she hated, how people
were treated by the government, and you know, and of
course she's she's a dictator and people. But still she's
(19:50):
taking it for the workers. Yeah, I mean her.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Story is actually really fascinating.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
I mean it, yeah, it shows how people can just
things too far, you know, yeah, exactly, like they can
take a good intention and just take it.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Too far exactly.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
But yeah, so they they're still they're still chatting, and
she mentions that the painting is the real thing, and.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Carol says, how how do you know for sure?
Speaker 1 (20:20):
She says, because I'm the one who took it off
the fucking wall.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
I love, I need to.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
This episode is full of such good lines. I have
to see. Carol has loads of good lines in this episode.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, she really does.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
So.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Just then, some uh, some asshole dude complains about his
uh his lentil stew and says it tastes like shit
and throws his tray on the floor like a toddler,
and a nearby worker gets ready to it says they'll
get him up. They're getting ready to clean it up,
and Jane says no, and that she tells the guy
(20:59):
who said, you understand and that food is a precious commodity,
and she tells him to eat it off the floor,
which was satisfying.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Yes, he's a been huge guy as well, the fact
that he was just like, yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
Yeah, yeah, nobody's nobody's gonna question her.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
Nope.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
She she tells Carol she has no tolerance for bullize
and welcomes Carol to the Mazon Mare.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
And that is the end of the cold open.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
And that last shot with the Mona Lisa, I mean,
it's been in the most recent trailer, the Mona Lisa
behind Carol and Carol's turning almost to camera with the
same kind of half smile. I was like, Oh, that's
that's beautiful direction. I love that.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
How did I not even notice that, you know what
it's It's because I didn't. It's because I didn't watch it,
like because I was, you know, because I was disappointed
with the season. I didn't watch the episodes the way
I normally do. Yeah, you know what I mean, Yes,
(22:15):
and just watching I just took notes. And that's pretty
much I was.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Waiting to say. If you're taking notes, you can miss
a lot of visual things, because if you're writing when
that's happening. That's happened to me quite a few times.
You missed something. But that that is like it was
actually only when I saw it on the trailer that
I clicked and I went, oh, that is a nice
shot that Carol turned so she speak rters onto the
(22:42):
screen and she just sort of half smiles. I was like, oh, yeah,
I love it.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
Of course, Carol is.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
So when we come back, Carol and Rennie, who we
saw last week, are moving through a line where they're
getting work assignments and they Remy tells her that they
speak to them in French. And Remy explains to Carol
that they assigned her to the kitchen and him to
the stables, and he mentions that he's glad. He's glad
(23:16):
they put him in the stables because Julian grew up
on a farm, so he's hoping that they sent him there.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
This is and this was a great exchange.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, these lights are fantastic.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Remy asks her if her Daryl likes horses, and she
says the steel kind, which she doesn't quite understand, but
she uh, she says she don't She'll find Daryl in
a kitchen.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
The way she delivered that, like, yeah, highly diet, I'm
going to find Donald in a kitchen.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Yeah, that's pretty This is this is the.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
I want to point this out. We do not see
what Carol's tails ram Darryl is to her. We see
her twice more in this episode say who darl is
and it's clearly live. But this sounds like it might
be the truth. We don't know because it's off screen.
But Remy just repeatedly calls him your Darryl.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
There is a parallel in a couple of scenes where
it's Darryl and is parallel to Julian in the years
in this scene as well, So I thought, who knows
what she told Remy? Was it the truth or was
it something else? But it's interesting that that was kept
off screen.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Yeah, it's I mean, I I have my thoughts about it,
which you know, for that have to do with the
later scene in Yeah. But but yeah, she's she's clearly
very she's clearly become very.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Close to Remy as we see, yes this.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
But they see some some people being ushered through an
area and she asks him what's going on and he
says that they're they're preparing for an attack on the Union.
And we see the guards leading several people into the tunnels,
which shortly after they line them up and shoot them all.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Yeah, some stuff.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Caroly and Remy are kind of like hiding behind a
wall kind of thing.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Yeah, it's like there's another another bit of tunnel, and
there's corgi iron and there's in the air.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Yeah, they're they're basically just watching what what the soldiers
are doing. And and there they watch as they inject
them all. They shoot all the they shoot all those people,
and then they inject them all with the super zombie
serum and it's the.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Doctor from the boat. Accout Bruce name.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Oh yeah, yeah, I can't remember either doctor and yeah,
so they Remy explains to her that Jane is trying
to make a stronger breed and Carol' said great, that's
exactly what we need. A couple of walkers charge them,
(26:27):
and the guards tell them to lower the dose because
they need subjects that they can control. And one of
the guards then discovers Carol and Remy and just shooes
them off, and Carol tells tells him they'll find Darryl
and Julian before the guards do, and Carol tells him
(26:47):
to to just check out the stables and look busy
and she'll find him later. Then we cut to the nest,
where we see Sylvie praying for protection from for Laurent
and for or the.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Courage to do what it takes to protect.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Him, and a u A guy comes by with a
food tray for her and they start discussing the upcome
coming ceremony, and that's when she she gets the jump
on him, knocking him out and.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Then just starts frantically looking everywhere for Laurence.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
I think she used her rosary beads to chalk them. Yeah,
I think she did. You're right, I was like, oh.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
Son, Sylvie, Yeah, yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
If you lost your faith, just go who cares? Yeah,
pretty much.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
She starts basically just running through the courtyard telling yelling
that to everybody around that they're they're gonna kill him,
They're they're gonna kill Lauren, and we saying tries to
intervene and tries to stop her, but she she gets
away from him and gets cornered at at like an
(28:02):
upper level and she's kind of yelling down to what
was saying.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
They're arguing a bit and.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
The guards grapple with her and then sadly she falls
to her death, which was really sad.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
It was Sylvie, we really knew you.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Yeah, I really liked Sylvie.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Sylvie and Filu are my favorites of the French cast.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
And I also it's also sad because you know, she's
she's around, she's she's kind of Laurn's sister, you.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Know, yeah, yeah, big sister is gonna I say, you
know that she was like looking out for him as
a as a big sister, and it was like, I know,
like at the end of last season, some people were like, oh,
you know, Sylvie and her boyfriend and Laurent is a
cute family because he almost looked like his big brother
as well. So it was like it was like her
(28:56):
a little cute family there as well. But it wasn't
to be. You know, I'm really sad that Sylvie. Uh,
Sylvie didn't get to experience the loving of a man
if I die Young's got to.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Kiss him, but you know, yeah, yeah, at least she
got that much. But yeah, very sad. She uh so
she's I mean, she's dead, She's she's very much dead. Yeah,
the uh and then fucking lost saying I'm not even
(29:37):
putting up red flags at this at this point anymore,
because it's just like.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
He's just red. He's just painted red over.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
My god, just he he has this sad look on
his face, but his he just immediately comments her faith
was weak.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Yeah, he's fucking asshole.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Her friend was weak because you were going to kill Lauren.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Yeah you yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Daryl, falou and Isabelle are finally arriving at the Nest.
Lou is U is leading them toward a path where
they can try to sneak in to find Lauren. Isabelle
asked Darryl about Ohio, and I'm you know, I have
to say, I'm glad that we've gotten a couple of
(30:26):
we've we've gotten multiple references. Actually, I think we have
to not just the Commonwealth, but Ohio.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Yeah, because I was oblivious, I'm like, why are they
call it Ohio? I got to do with that. Oh,
that's what the com Wealth is. Nobody told me.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Yeah, And I you know, I honestly, I think I
knew that the Commonwealth was in Ohio. But honestly, I
don't know that they ever explained that in the Mazing series.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
I don't think they did at all. No, I think
they wanted to keep it a bit vague so they
could change how long it took together. Yeah, the Commonwealth
to Alexander, because like I'll just snip across. It's only
an error, you know. Yeah, like they gave us thrones
things where all the countries suddenly moved closer to each
other near the end, and they did no longer take
(31:13):
three months of travel. Yeah, so I think that's why
they did it. Was they did They never mentioned it
in the.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Right They they explained in the comics that it was
in Ohio. Yeah, but yeah, they never really got to
that in the main series. So I'm kind of I'm
kind of glad that they explained that, because yes, so
many people, like a lot of people are still getting
confused and where yeah, yeah, everybody.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
I've seen people still think they're in Georgia.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Oh yeah, yeah, they're gonna have on over to the farmhouse.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Second and where it said are two different things.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
Yeah yeah, but uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
She asks him about Ohio and he tells her that
the winter suck, which which is true, but the summers
are nice and and there's fishing in the streams and
and fireflies, which she seems to be particularly amused by. Yeah,
La Sang and Jacinta and some others find Laurent and
(32:22):
tell him it's time, and Laurent says he's ready.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
They they put h they.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Put a coat on him with that weird birds sun symbol.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
It's all good about Harry Potter, these two teenage girls.
A clock on one's.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
Yes, but he says he's excited, and Lassang makes him
some tea with honey and Valerian roots, which.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Valerian root has some sedative properties, but I don't think
they're that strong.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
I wonder if he said but that some place he
HUDs maybe the actual drugs, some adrol, yeah or something,
because yeah, yeah, it did seem like there was something
more than that, but he was just saying it Valirian
route to you know, to cover it up.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Like you know, Valarian roote will will help you sleep,
you know, it'll it'll like it'll it'll help calm down anxiety,
but it's it's not gonna knock you out.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
So exactly, no, you're not going to be I say,
like the walking.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
Day, yes, and then and then this is where my
my middle Land comes in. Uh Las tells the Rod
that he wants what his pastor piano recital.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
A random thing, but he's just like yeah, yeah, don't
need to be nervous, You're just like what And then
he countries on talking as if he never said that.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
It's very weird.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
It crashed me up that Laurel said that won't happen. Yeah,
I'm not, I'm not. I'm not a peepie pants dude. Sorry.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Also, I'm not seven.
Speaker 6 (34:30):
Yeah, to give us an insight into the songs, we
didn't get his fuel box story here, but so we
just get well, okay, look, I.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Was seven in a Peter recital. So I was shy
and traumatized, and that's why I've become an evil cult leader.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Yes, yeah, that's diligence, that's his villains.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Oh my god, so uh what I was saying?
Speaker 1 (35:03):
And and uh oh yeah, let's wait, yeah okay, let's
sang hands in the tea and and tells him to
drink it. Then we see him addressing everybody, and he's
got the same kind of code on as la Rat
has on, because you know, he's he's he's the leader
of the of the laftose intolerant peepe pants help, Yes,
(35:29):
the lactose intolerant peepee pants called.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
He uh, he says they've come from all over Europe.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
To share in the belief of of what is to come,
which is just like kind of it's really crazy to
like to hear that all these people have come from
so far.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Yeah, this ridiculous belief.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
Yeah, and uh they we see them leading Laurnt up
the stairs and he's, you know, he's preaching some bullshit
about why this is such a great ceremony, and then
they bring a cloaked walker up and we the one
that's supposed to bite him, and we see that it's Sylvie.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Yeah. That was horrible.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
I know, that's so awful, Like, oh god, it was
just terrible. I hate listen so much.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
I mean, yeah, the boy he's a bite to be
bitten by a walker, which okay, you believe he's going
to live, and that's fine, but why traumatize him with
I mean, they say why, you know, they say, oh,
she loves she no one loved him more, so she's
going to give him the gift of whatever it is
that they believe he's been gifted with him good.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
It was unpleasant, but Laurent basically has no reaction because
apparently the Valerian Route has just completely zombified him. I
was like, I was confused, it first, and then you
know in the later scene with Darryl when he was
trying to talk to him that when it clicked, Yeah,
(37:10):
he having no reaction. This is his sister, like y,
why is he not reacting to that? It was very strange.
It wasn't It wasn't done very well. They didn't make
that clear enough.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
No, but.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
They just as they're just as she's about to get
to him, Darryl shoots her in the head with an
arrow and says, shows over motherfuckers.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
There are so many motherfuckers in the cities and there's cattle.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Yeah, I know, it's for those for those of you
who don't know.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
Melissa McBride was in a movie called The Happies and
like her character had the biggest botty mouth after BM
it was so good is but yeah, So he tries
to shoot Lo Sang, but the flag kind of gets
in the way and he misses, and Losang Dan yells
(38:14):
get him and h they rescue laurent as folks from
the nest try to go after them, and they managed
to hide in like a little cubby hole kind of thing, and.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
They say, that's so funny. I wrote the exact craze
because I was like, I don't want to describe it.
It's a little room off of us. I don't even
know what it is. The place.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Yeah, that's funny.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
S Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
They get in there and Darryl.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
Tells them that he'll stay back while Flu and Isabelle
try to get him out of there, and he he
then tries to get through to a very high as
fuck Laurent storm Yeah, who just just super stoned and uh,
he tells him that like he's he's trying to get
through to him, and he tells him to wake up,
(39:10):
which is which is uh, it's like, kid, you need
to wake up. And that's when it clicked for me,
like that, yes, yes, okay, he's like this drugged. Yeah,
but he tries to tell him that he needs to
take them to the secret cave in the woods. He's
not sure that he's getting through to him, but then
(39:33):
Laurent finally speaks and he says that the one by
the Big Rocks, and Darryl tells them to give him
a day and if he doesn't make it back keep
running and some guys find Darryl as Flu and Isabelle
are escaping with Laurent.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
This was know what are you going to say? Because
I've written a very specific by this team.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
I was very confused.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
So, like, Daryl is taking on the dudes that found him,
and he strangles one of them and snaps his neck.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
And then it looks like he it looks as if
he deliberately spills his arrows over the guy.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Yes, why did he do that? I don't I don't
know that at all. But my note was this fight
scene is too long. Who cares because it goes on
and on, like six different guys come up and he
takes them on one at a time, and he always
killed him. Now he's goes, oh no, Then he throws
(40:39):
the tire at one and then and I was just like, yeah, yeah, Donald,
he's gonna beat them. Yeah, this is going on? Wait
too long?
Speaker 3 (40:51):
It was very reminiscent of a video game.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
Yes, in my opinion, it was.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Yes, Yeah, it definitely had.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
And I had to laugh at for just because I
thought because he grabbed that polsepear yeah and the poll axe,
I mean, and.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
I thought at first it was a bostaff.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Yes, I'm writing there, Donal'll fight someone with a I
wrote that too.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
I wrote that same thing Daryl attacked someone with the toothpick.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
You see, this is why we do this, our minds west.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
But yeah, we then we get a better look at it.
It's actually it's a poll axe.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Yeah, but it would have been funnier if it was.
But uh I So we see flu Is hiding in
one spot with Laurent well Isabelle is hiding in another.
Darryl's still running in guards and you know, taking him
out and all that, and it's we Then we then
(41:56):
see a shot of a terrible stunt person wig.
Speaker 3 (42:05):
Did you see that?
Speaker 2 (42:06):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (42:09):
It was bad.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
The wigs in this season are not the best.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
And it wasn't even like during a high action scene.
I mean he was already cornered.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
Yeah, why they were why they didn't need him for
this the why you know why you needed a double
for this? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Yeah, that the wig was bad.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
It was it almost looked more like like like pre
outbreak Marions.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
Which as I really liked her here like that.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
I did too.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
But yeah, so then he's captured and then we cut
to Carol and you can take it from here.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
Yeah, so we're going to go back Timmy's ol mare
and Carol is sneaking around and see some of the
kitchen crewk coming with a huge vat of food. So
you know, she leaps in and it's the same young
worker that Janny had saved the from when the guy
was making she was make the guy eat the stuff
(43:16):
off the floor, and her and the Janny and the
young girl had her had a nod at each other
because on the side of the worker. Anyway, So Carol
goes up to this and says, Oh, I think I've
been assigned to help you. And I just thought Carol
was so funny in the scene because she's like trying
to make small talks with French people when she doesn't
speak right, She's like, oh, that guy with the tail
(43:41):
last night, one asshole cherl does not understand the word
you're saying, Carol, but valiant effort.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
Yeah, oh my god, it's so funny.
Speaker 2 (43:53):
And they go they go into this room. I don't
know what you would how you would describe this, because
it's like, I'm guessing it's where they're keeping the people
who are more injured or that's what it looks like. Yeah,
some kind of dormitory anyway, and there's a team some
people sitting at the table. So they put the foed
down on the table and they start start dishing it up,
(44:16):
and Carol's Carol's going around people. Just this whole thing
was just so entertaining. Carol going around people with a
ladle of whatever and going daldics, serving them up. Do
you know, Darlings, You're like, I'm looking for an American.
His name's Darlings. I'm looking for an American, an American.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
And I was telling Don before we started recording, like,
you know, I know, we established that that Carol's French
isn't very good, but I mean, I think anybody, I
think most people who have ever like heard more than
five words in French, and especially if they're going to
(44:59):
free ants, which you know she she could have asked Ash.
The first thing you're gonna want to know is the
phrase where is there is? And where is the American way?
The American I mean.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Easy, easy, yeah, super simple, Like I c I can't
remember what the word for bathroom is, but really toilette,
Yeah yeah, that's the bathroom. Yes yeah, And you know
exit you're asking for the most not the most vital
(45:38):
information you need in French.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Yes, yeah, oh god, yeah, the show is just insulting
her intelligence at this point.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
Let's just give them the benefit of the day. I
will see that, because also I was thinking, you know,
I would have expected Carol in this kind of situation
to sit back a little teaking what's going on, get
the lay of the land, understand everybody's situation. But she doesn't.
She just goes cool quit ezzy, quit ezzy, like dayl
(46:12):
and the radio. You know, have you got radio? So
I'm going to assume that that is a sign of
her desperation, that it's you know, speeders of yesss. She
doesn't have time to be her usual cool, calm self,
and she's a bit being a bit uncool asking people
(46:32):
straight away. I mean one of.
Speaker 1 (46:35):
It's granted, you know, asking asking for Daryald Dixon was smart. Yeah,
I mean she should have been doing that, but she
should because that's his name and people might know his
name there. But she also like could have like somebody
just randomly shouting at her name over and over me
(46:57):
like y, he's less than.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
Saying, you know where the American.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
Yeah exactly, yes, yes. But one of the person who
hears the name Darald Dixon is Condroll loved Codron, who
is the worst for weary, and he says. Carol immediately
goes over to him, and he says, oh, I had him,
(47:26):
I had him, and I let him go, and this
is my punishment. And we see that these several of
his fingers are missing, and Carol said. He says, why
should I tell you anything about him? And Carol says, yeah,
I love this line, and this is why I've got it.
It's just that I don't believe in coincidences. The fact
(47:46):
that I've found you means something and this is a sign.
And he's like, well, yeah, I don't believe in that.
So he's lost. He's lost Alfie, and so she has
to sort of try another track. And of course we
know that Carol can read people so easily, and she does.
She begs them please, and then I love this. Now
(48:10):
this is I don't know what the close captions will
see when this airs, but on the close captions that
we have it says she says Dyld Dixon and I
and then she stopped and she says he's my brother.
But I was like, oh, what was she going to say?
Speaker 7 (48:31):
You know, we're so many, we're plutonic, because what to
make true?
Speaker 2 (48:45):
There's no misunderstanding oh my god, you need.
Speaker 1 (48:52):
Somebody to act out like a parody of that scene
where they do that, and I are soul natesronic.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
Yeah, coming it wrong. But I wondered if they had
a line in it where Cadron had said, oh, I
know Dixon, he killed my brother, because the way she
switches to say oh he's my brother, like she knows,
this is the way you get him, and it does.
(49:23):
It works. He immediately goes, oh he's your brother and
sort of you know, and she's like, he's the only
family I have left the line in the tail and
that we were all like, oh no, what does that means?
Everybody in the CoA dead? Noted. It's just how lying
is usual.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
It's if they did have that line in there, I
wish they hadn't taken it out because it seemed it
seemed really contrived.
Speaker 3 (49:47):
It came off really contrived.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
Yes, yes, it would have made so much more sense
if he had said, because he would say that that's
you know, why why do you care about Daryld Dixon?
And he's like, well, I was going to kill him
because he killed my brother, and you know, it would
explain his demeanor why he's so unhappy about Daryl Dixon
(50:10):
and it would make this life contrived. When she says, oh,
he's my brother, yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
It just seems it's like a moment where it just
seems like the entire audience is going to be like,
what why did she Why did she say? Why did
she just happen to say the perfect thing exactly? You know,
it's yeah, it's a little contrived. I wish I wish
that they had included a line of you know, of
him saying he killed his brother.
Speaker 2 (50:35):
Yeah, and and she she I wrote down that. It's
like she's found the secret password for Codron. You know,
brother is the password. And he says, and she says,
the young girls like come on, we've got to go
on Carol in French, and Carol says, you know John,
(50:59):
please from a very long way. He's the only family
and soul Couldron reliance and tells her about the next
and he says, but you better hurry up because of
Jenny finds at first he's dead. So this scene was
so cute. Carol's sitting on the bed with Raymie and
she's cutching his arm like I was just like, I
(51:22):
don't know why she's doing it, but I like it.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
I was like, honestly, I the way I took it
is like, because that's just not a Carol thing to do.
Speaker 2 (51:32):
No, it's not at all.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
And you know, we've seen her be affectionate like that
with with Daryl and Ezekiel, like I mean even platonically
with Ezekiel after they.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
Broke up, you know, yeah, exactly, Yeah, but like it's
just not a very Carol thing to do.
Speaker 1 (51:50):
And I was like, oh, she got really close to him,
and it, you know, it kind of just makes me think.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
That like she she and Ash got really close very quickly. Yeah,
and it kind of you know, it.
Speaker 1 (52:06):
Likely caused her to let her guard down a little bit.
And yes, you know, kind of let people in.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
I wonder if it's because she's she thinks that not
that she's never going to see them again, but that
she doesn't have a she's not expecting to have a
long relationship with either Ash at the time and Remy,
so she feels able to be more open with them
because she does has the same guarded ness with people
(52:35):
she's around all the time. You know, she can afford
like the kind of self strangers, you know, you can
afford to tell a stranger. Everything about yourself, it doesn't
matter to them. So I wonder if like that's what
caused her to be closer to to Remy. But anyway,
she she he's explained to her where the nest is.
(52:55):
He understands the reference of it and where it is
and the sas it's a couple of ours away. Carol
begs him to come with her, but he says no,
he won't leave without Julian, and Carol's like, yeah, I understand,
and she's sorry but she has to go. Gives him
a hug, and as she's leaving, Remy wishes her luck
(53:15):
and then.
Speaker 3 (53:17):
Oh wait, you're you're freezing down and cries, oh yeah, yeah,
yeah on me for a second, but your back.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
Oh sorry, on my back. Okay, I don't know what
happened there. So then we go back to the Nest
where Daryl is coming to He's been beaten and is
held in a room with Lasang and but Lasang is
being very kind and he gives him a pillow. I'm
(53:53):
just you know, I've beating you up, but also have
a pillow for your little head, and he says that
Darren needs to rest up and listen. He had hoped
to convince Daryl of that what they were doing was
the right thing, but no, Daryl wasn't interested. And this
this little bit of dialogue that Lussang says to to
(54:15):
Darryl is like I think, is like the core of
what they're trying to say in the whole season about Darryl.
He says, you have no organ I feel sorry for you, said,
because you have no organizing principle, nothing to cling to,
an existence spent simply reacting a man alone. It's a
sad state. And I think that we're meant to be
(54:38):
thinking that that's what Daryl's considering that his whole I
came here looking for something, He's trying to find out
what his thing is, what his reason is, what he
clings to, what his faith is in. And instead of
it was the phrase and existence spent simply reacting normal.
(54:59):
Read is given a couple of interviews recently where he's
talked about that that Daryl has spent all his life fighting.
He's reacting. He's running instead of saying I'm going to
take myself out of this and make a choice proactively,
rather than reacting to what's happening to me. So I
thought it was interesting that with Lusang, that's say that to.
Speaker 8 (55:20):
Him, and so he says, Lusange says, you know, it's
it's easy to live for yourself because you've only got
yourself to look after.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
I have a community. Yeah, that's why I've got to
the one of the heavyweight on my shoulders. And he says,
faith and hope are oxygen and water. It's crucial to survival.
But their reserves had run low, and Laurent was their
way to get it back. Basically, it's like Jinny was
(55:53):
saying about, you know, controlling people with the super Soldier Walkers,
he was controlling them with faith and he needed Lauren
to be able to keep control of his people. And
he says, you know, even Darrel says, people don't know
what you're doing. And like I meditated and I prayed,
(56:18):
and he realized, you know that it was their love
for Laurent, that that was that was doing it, and
that's why they had Sylvie be the one to walk
to walker him to allegedly bite him. And another liner. Really,
I loved all the lines that they gave the sang
in this, even though I hate not the actor. All
(56:41):
the twenties does a great job because he's really good
at that, being sort of fliny but charming.
Speaker 3 (56:47):
Yeah, very much.
Speaker 2 (56:49):
Yes, but he says, only by risking everything can we
find the meaning of true faith. And Dara's like, well,
if you're wrong and and loss else we're wrong, there's
no point going.
Speaker 4 (57:02):
On the.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
Let's all just end it all. Then we go back
to Mason Maare and some action Carol, which I love.
She knocks out a garden takes his gun, and she's
tried to get into one of the jeeps that's in
the in the courtyard, but they're all locked up, and
that's when she spots the horses and she goes up
(57:32):
to one of the horse who is not impressed at
all at first. The Carol uses her horse whispering technique
that she lean in Season eleven. Yes, and she doesn't
have The horses are not like wasps. They don't know
when you've killed one. Oh God, is it? Because it's like,
(58:13):
oh dear, she didn't she didn't do well last time
she had a horse, did she? Oh my god, I'm crying.
Oh dear, I know what you did.
Speaker 3 (58:29):
I know what you did to harry.
Speaker 2 (58:39):
The horse whispering instead of you Chinese whispers is the
horse whispers that they they go all the way to France.
We don't trust her, She'll kill you. And I have
to say, this is the worst bit of stun doubling
in the whole US warts. When she hops on the horse,
(59:03):
I was just like, that's not that's not Melissa McBride.
And that person didn't just go climb on the horse.
They're clearly had something on the other side of them
to system. Don't like that because it's they're just automatically.
Speaker 3 (59:17):
Go massive horse.
Speaker 2 (59:21):
It was huge, Yes, it was sort of. It was
very wide. I thought, very a very stocky horse.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
Isn't going to get on a on a horse without
stepping on something.
Speaker 2 (59:38):
But she rights, she rides it through the tunnel and
even though there was obviously some stunt, but you definitely
saw Melissa mcgride was on that horse, and because it
sort of rears up at one point and I'm like, oh,
she's really on that horse. And as she gets through
the other side of the tunnel, she's met with a
lineup of jeeps and guns pointed at her. She's been caught.
(01:00:02):
So that was all too brief. I was like, oh,
we have that really long scene of Darryl fighting twelve men,
Carol on the hearse a bit longer. Yeah, and she
goes into the next thing we see is she's been
taken into Jerrey's office and Remy and his husband Julian
(01:00:24):
are sitting there and Remy looks rightfully sorrowful that he
had given her given her up, and he apologized and says,
this was the only way I could think of of
saving Julian. I'm sure you would have done the same
for your Daryl. And so again I'm like, comparing, you know,
(01:00:47):
his husband to Daryl. What had she told Remy wiser truth,
we don't know. I thought that was really nice.
Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
And I want to comment though, like, yeah, we hear
her say Darryl is different things to different people. Yes,
and if if if she had told if she had
done the same thing and told Remy like he's my
husband or yes, like I think that would have that
(01:01:18):
would have actually confused people, Yeah, because they would have
you know, they might have not finished the series and
they're tuning in something like married.
Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
But I think it's again, it's if we look at
the three people she tells and she's about to tell
you the another thing she tells them the thing that
she thinks will most emotionally convince them, like she told us.
She told her as it was Sophia, because she knew
that would more emotionally connect to him. Most cauldron is
(01:01:50):
brother Remy, who's really scared for his husband. She might
have said he's my husband without meaning anything, you know,
and she tells June, which is what you tell us.
But so so I think it's about her, like being
able to read people so well to understand this is
what's going to work for them. So she may have
(01:02:12):
told Remy, yeah, he's my husband and you know, or
she may have not. She may have just said he's
my closest friend or whatever, you know, and undermate. But
I just thought it was really interesting and that it
was off screen, and you know, it allows that the
audience to go, oh, I wonder, wonder what you know?
(01:02:33):
Which is which is good. So Janny says that Sabinia
will teak Remy and and Julian and to any place
you want to go in France and leave them because
you know, the information is a commodity. And but she
she tells Carol to wait and offers her a wine
(01:02:54):
and a lesbians everywhere in the world rejoice at the
Carol and Jine Sine were so excited to get together,
and they do have amazing chemistry. Yeah yeah, and it's
just it's it's just so nice to see somebody on
the same level as Carol and other woman who's very
(01:03:17):
similar in terms of mentally like Carol, you know, somebody
who's always thinking. And so she she offers her for
a drink, and Carol's asking, you know, what is it
you want? And Jennie's as well, I could ask you
the same. You know, you can tell me or I
can just assign you to one of these tests. So
(01:03:39):
Carol obviously wags up her options and decides to tell
Carol the truth because Carol asks, you know, what are
you doing here? And and Janie's or we're trying to
make these these warriors and we're going to bring peace.
And Carol's like, oh, yeah, yeah, the war to end all.
We're all wars. YEA sure heard that? And and Carl's
(01:04:03):
Jenny says, you don't tell me the truth, and Carol,
I love this. But Carol relays the story of how
she gets to France in just the best, the best way.
She's like, well, I manipulated this innocent man and told
them I was looking for my daughter, and then we
had to stop over, and he flew me over. We
had a stop over in Greenland where he was nearly
(01:04:24):
used as a sperm dougher, and I was nearly murdered
by insane environmentalists. The way she tells it, it's just
so dry, like yeah, and Jenny's like, okay, yeah, yeah,
it didn't need that much detail fact and and and
(01:04:49):
she asked, why is it that you want to find
that diction? And and Carol again, as you say, weighed
up her options of how to get into Janny's mindset,
and she says, I came here to kill him.
Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
Okay, yeah, I just I only have to hope that
this conversation was longer and it was cut. Yes, Carol
is not that stupid, like I'm sorry, Remy just gave
(01:05:23):
her up.
Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
Yes, what do you think that he told Janey about?
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
Yes, exactly, so she could have easily come up with
something like you know, I'm I'm I came to kill him,
and you know, Jane could have called her on it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
And she was like, because she was very emotional during
the scene.
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
Yes, yes, yes, Cowie and it could have been.
Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
A situation where like, he's my husband, but he's like
they have they have my my daughter held hostage back home,
and I need to kill him or I don't get
her back.
Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
Yeah, you know, yes, yes, it's the fact that Remy
has given up the information. He must have told Jenny
more than Oh by the way she's escaping why, Uh, yeah,
I don't know. Yeah, it's yes, it's messy. I understand
(01:06:24):
what they're trying to do in Carol reading the other characters,
but it means she's not she's not reading the fool.
She's not thinking of the big picture. That's what I'm
trying to say. She's thinking on in that moment, and
it makes.
Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
It makes Janney look like an idiot too, because that,
I mean, what happened with Kadrome last season, you know.
But of course it's we find out later Janey was
not an idiot, she.
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Know, but we know it. Yes, at this point, it
seems like she's convinced by what Carol says.
Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:07:02):
Yeah, But I like what I liked about a lot
of these scenes with Carol where she's lying is that
you can see there's a mix of truth and lies
in everything.
Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
She's saying, and it's keeping us guessing sort of exactly
what the truth of what lies. You know, when she
was talking to Ash about feeling stuck and all, you know,
you get the sense that was the truth. That was
nothing to do with the feet, that was how she
was feeling. And in this scene when she she's talking
about killing Darryl, and Jenny says, oh, he must have
(01:07:38):
done something awful to you, and Carol says nothing. And
then but Jenny is able to read that there is
pain in Carol, and she's and sort of the connector
women to women, and she's saying, you know, we women
need to learn to let these pains go, which obviously
is exactly what Carol's needing here about fear. And I
(01:08:01):
love that line. Men seem to have no problem doing
it and Carol's like, oh, they don't. And then that
that's like it's like that was shade at the whole
of the walking.
Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
Yeah, pretty much, every man.
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
Got over it. Let me get over it. It's like
she's thinking about is equal at that point, but who knows?
And she says, Jenny says, we have to forgive ourselves
for all the losses. Obviously again, so That was really
interesting that Lusang is saying all this to Darryl that
Darryl really needs to hear even though he thinks he's
(01:08:40):
torturing him. And Jenny is playing with Carol but still
manages to tell her what that was really quite cleverly
allowed Carol to be so clever in the scene. Yeah,
and Jenny says, well, we have we know their location.
She has the now she has the watch with the
(01:09:01):
picture of the nest in it, and she says, I'm
going to take you to your friend. You know, if
you want to kill him, I'll take you. We go
back to the nest and Daryl is dragged and chained
up to I think the shower cubicle. Yeah, it's like
a three sided cubicle anyway, and the guard says, you know,
(01:09:23):
I love the way they the guard treat him as
an American says yes, keep keep your shrinks up, you're
going to need it tomorrow, and Daryl said fuck off,
and the guy's like, we'll bring you soon, cowboy.
Speaker 3 (01:09:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
Yeah. So then when we go back to some beautiful
shots of France, and this time Jenny and Carol are
in the jeep as part of Jeannie's convoy. It seems
like is now a tourist, a tourist guide through France
(01:10:04):
with the mona Lisa dear. Yes. So they go to
the Louverra and Jenny tells Carol that you know, she
she used to work there and that she she swept
the halls and there was all these religious paintings and
she says, there I didn't quite get this. I have
(01:10:26):
to say this scene. I didn't quite understand the symbolism.
She says, there's this There was one painting that she
only really understood after everything had happened, and it was
a desperate family hanging in peril over a flood. And
she said that she understood that all these paintings of
the apocalypse are people trying to make sense of the
(01:10:46):
chaos and destruction and this fantasy that there's a higher power.
So I guess it's like contrasting Lussang and Engine, where
he has everything is about there is a purpose, There
is a higher power that we've got to worship and
they will help us out of this, whereas Jenny's saying
(01:11:08):
there is no higher purpose for any of this. We
as humans need to just sort ourselves out kind of thing,
and It's like the two sides of the same coin
because they're both there. They have completely different ideologies, but
their purposes are pretty much the same. Control people and
(01:11:28):
do it through murder. And so we usually see that
flashback that she goes into one of the main rooms
and everybody's just sobbing because real people are dying and
that is the hopelessness. So she says, you know, Carol's like, well,
(01:11:51):
you know, everybody needs hope, and Jenny's yes, but religion
is about controlling and it's not about hope. And Jenny
says the masses are deluded by an opiate of hope
and that this there's just one word in this that
I wanted to point out to you. She says, they
think we're the masses are small, and I'm seeing that
their fairy tales can control us. Fairy tales are going
(01:12:13):
to come up again, and of course Carol called her
marriage to Ezekiel fairy. Meanwhile, we go to the cave
where Lauren has successfully gone to wait for Darryl. There's
noise outside. He draws his knife but it's blue, but
(01:12:35):
he's alone. Isabelle hasn't made it, and they speak about
what just happened, and Lawrence says, you know, isabel Sylvie
and probably Isabelle, excuse me, are gone because of a
story that's about suit me, about me, And Laurence says,
you know, he liked that everyone thought he was special,
(01:12:56):
so he's feeling very guilty that it was it's all
his fault of thing. But Luis says, you know, it's
it's believing makes it easier to live for people, so
everybody wanted to believe it, whether there was nothing Lawrence
could do to change that. And but Laurent says, you know,
belief wouldn't make me survive the bite. So he's got
(01:13:19):
his head straight now. And it says Felucas, yes, but
we all believed it, and Laurence I didn't. He was
the only one not drinking the kool lead.
Speaker 3 (01:13:32):
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
Yeah. So back to the nest and Isabelle is dragged
in Darryl's you know, oh no, all upset and she's
changed changed up in the cubicle next to Daryl. She
shures him she's okay and the guards go away. Daryl
asks what's happened and she says that she got caught,
(01:13:56):
but Laurent got away, and Daryl says that I haven't.
I haven't given anything away, and she says, no, I
haven't either. That don't worry. We'll catch up on Lauren.
You know, it's all going to be okay. But let's
get some sleep so we have strength for tomorrow. And
while he's talking, Isabelle notices that the drain cover is broken,
(01:14:19):
and so there's a sharp metal semicircle almost and she
kicks it with her foot and grabs it and put
it in her pocket, and she says to Daryl, tell
me a story, and he said, well, what you know,
I just want to hear your voice. And music started
playing at that point, which was very fairy tale esque.
(01:14:43):
It's very sort of tinkly music box, and so he says,
you know, he starts talking about what his experienced. It
was a guy he left home looking for something, didn't
know what it was, but all he heard about was
going home. He didn't care about anyone or anything. And
then something happened and something changed, and Isabelle says, oh,
(01:15:08):
change is good. And they bring back the word gepezzle
and and so then Isabelle says, oh, tell me about
the fireflies, and Dara says, well, they're like tinker Bell
bell fling around and he says, you have tinker Bell
over here, doesn't don't. She says, yeah, something something touchet
(01:15:29):
I think obviously the French word for tinker bell. And
she says she saves Peter, she saves Peter Pan, and
a light went off in my hair. And Ballie knows
all about this because at the time I was like,
I just realized Isabel is tinker Bell.
Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
Yeah, and her name was something else originally.
Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
Right, it was Cassandra I think. Okay, so changed her name.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
Yeah, yeah, very so.
Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
If you think back to season one, the second episode
when they were at the school and everybody talked about
it that it was the Lost Boys, Daryl with the
Lost Boys, and in that episode they had Mark and Mindy,
so there was some Robin Williams stuff. So we're thinking
it's very specifically referencing Hook version of Peter Pan where
(01:16:34):
Hook has forgotten that he is Peter Pant and he
goes to Neverland. And of course in Neverland the Lost Boys,
the longer they're there, they more they forget about home. Yes, Daryl,
and but in Hook, tinker Bell is in love with
with with Peter Panter. She is in all all the
(01:16:56):
versions of it, but in Hook she gets a wish
and she makes herself human size and they have a kiss,
and when she kisses him, she says I love you
to him, and he doesn't say it back. He says
I love her, and he gets the memories back of
his own wife and family. So if you think about
(01:17:17):
all that and al we've seen of Isabel, here, Isabella
is tinker Bell. She was there save him. Daryl had
to come to Neverland, France to find something and he
needs to find himself and she helped him. And yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
Like at first it was like really, I'm like and
then I was I.
Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
Thought about it.
Speaker 1 (01:17:40):
I was like, oh wait, no, yeah, I had thought.
Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
I had kept saying this that I thought that Isabel
was going to be some kind of angel, not a
real literal angel, but some kind of metaphorical angel that
she was there to protect and say Daryl, especially the
first time we saw them her seeing him, she's watching
from a cliff top, you know, almost like an angel
of the cloud looking down on this human and then
(01:18:10):
she comes and saves them, and it's like he sees
her because he's half unconscious and she's come through and
it's all focused. And I always felt she was that
kind of figure, and I thought, oh, with the religious stuff,
that's the way they're going to do. I did not
at all things. Oh she's tall. I was so excited
(01:18:32):
when I watched that scene because I was like, oh, totally, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
Isabelle does not need a plause to live.
Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
No, she doesn't.
Speaker 7 (01:18:43):
Although if we liked many characters, the more you like them,
he's the more likely they are to live.
Speaker 3 (01:18:55):
That's true. I shouldn't say that's kind of the case
with any character.
Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Cand of what happened with Carol. They were going to
kill her off, but they were like, no, no, she's
too popular back back, and then yes, so yeah, so
she says yes, tinker Bell saves Peter Pan and Darryl
starts speaking about Laurent going to back home, and he says,
(01:19:21):
I think, you know, Laurent's really going to like it
in America and he could go to school and just
be a normal kid, which obviously we know is what
Laurent really wants. And Isabelle says, what will I do now?
I'm just going to say something here. As I say,
we get the screeners and they have closed captions. They're
(01:19:43):
not always totally accurate, so I do not know exactly
what version of this. I've heard that the French version
was actually leaked at once, has a different wording and
it changes the meaning, so I I don't know which
one is the correct. We had the mean that the
(01:20:04):
closed caption say that Dara says, you can do whatever
you like. We can late in Bental, late, go for
long walks, watch the sunset in France. Apparently the closed
caps said you can't because she's asked what can I do? Yeah,
so now that totally changes the meaning. I don't know
(01:20:25):
which is correct because it's storm and Read is mumbling.
Speaker 3 (01:20:28):
So yeah, you like.
Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
When you're speaking into the dictation when he said I
went out looking for some something someone somewhat.
Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
Norman read us with with putting me in the habit
of using subtitles with everything I watch.
Speaker 3 (01:20:50):
I'm totally serious about that. I'm not even.
Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
I've been doing it for a long time because I
used to live above the the toilet flush, I couldn't
hear the hear what's happening on TV. But yeah, so
I'm not entirely sure what he's saying, and I understand
that if he is saying we, then that's really a
lot of people who are supers like myself, that that
(01:21:18):
really sucks because it's like he's he's planning a life
with Isabella and in the coma. On the other hand,
it's possible he's just trying to make her feel better
in that moment, because you know, he's trying to buck
her up, and they're trying to get her to visualize
a life that is a fairy you know, because it's
(01:21:40):
not like that for them in reality, so you know,
but anyway, Isabelle, and Isabelle even says that sounds like
a dream, you know, it's it's not real, and she
puts her hand around the wall and Daria takes her
hand and she says, Daryld doesn't that was my pause
(01:22:05):
for dramatic effects.
Speaker 3 (01:22:06):
Yeah, no, that doesn't.
Speaker 1 (01:22:08):
Say yeah, we were just kind of focuses on his
face as he says nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Yes. So that's you know, the parlor to Junie and
her husband, the hands up there trying to communicate to
a wall, and of course Darryl and Isabelle have their
backs to each other as well, and the difference is
they's husband said with them also, and Daryl says nothing.
So I think you know that also ties into the
(01:22:36):
tinker Bell thing that Peter Pan loved tinker Bell does
not like the way she loved him, And so I
think we're meant to see here that Daryld obviously has
feelings for Isabelle of some kind. But yeah, yeah, we
go back to the nest that's dark, and they're outside there.
I don't know where they are exactly, but there's someplace
(01:22:59):
outside of the nest and Janny's convoys ride. Carol's looking
a bit suspicious what's happening? Meanwhile, La Sang inside Lasang
comes to take Isabelle to be tortured. Daryl, of course
immediately protective and say no, she's got nothing free, leave
her alone, and and Lu Sang, oh is so creepy
(01:23:22):
in the scene, pretty says come with me and we'll
pray together, like he thinks he can manipulate Isabelle that way,
and but Isabelle's like, no, you know, not take it
in and says, oh, after all we've been together, don't
we deserve this. So the drag Isabelle away, and Darryl's
(01:23:47):
shouting after her, and Lasange says, you know, we have
a greater purpose, and Darryl and desperation is saying, oh,
I'll take him to you, to you, don't you leave
her alone? And always had an open heart and mind.
You're beyond hope, which is I think is that you
(01:24:08):
know something that's going to come back, is that that
Darryl has no hope and is beyond hope. But back
at the Nest, s Been, Jenny's right hand woman, is
a bit concerned things are going too fast, the rushing thing,
and but no, Jenny's insistent. They're rallying the troops together
(01:24:29):
and have this big group of people and Jenny gets
up to give one of her speeches and she says,
you have volunteers. You're chosen for this mission because you're
about to become the most devoted members of my fighting unit.
Oh no, and iris I look to you and all
(01:24:52):
this quality talking. Carol looks and she sees the doctors
bearing a whole load of needles and serums, and Jenny says,
right here, you're going to be the noblest of sacrifice
as we crushed the.
Speaker 10 (01:25:08):
Union and uh libad quality and all of that, and
but Carol obviously is like, oh, this isn't good.
Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
She goes up to Jenny and seeing you're going to
turn them, aren't you? And Jennie says yes, and and
you're going to join them because you wanted to kill
your friend. This is what you this is what you
asked for. You're going to become one of them. You're
going to kill him d D. Peter Black.
Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
It was.
Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
It was really an interesting parallel, wasn't it, with that
with like Janey's group and and and you know, and
the madness of the Nest.
Speaker 2 (01:25:49):
Yes, yes, I thought it's really interesting. I like that
the way they had these two which in season one
seemed completely different, the union of Hope and Jenny. And
by this episode we see the we've literally come together
because everybody's at the Nest, and we see that they're
basically just the same, but they're just trying going differently,
(01:26:12):
have a different method to get the same results.
Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
Kind of Yeah, yeah, definitely, it's you know, I was
I was excited to to share some of my uh
my complaints about this episode that I just thought were
over the top ridiculous, and I realized that I can't
(01:26:35):
because some of it contains spoilers.
Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
So I'm gonna help.
Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
Okay, Okay, yes, but.
Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
It's I think a lot of the things that I
found ridiculous in this episode I found ridiculous because I
know what happens in the other episodes.
Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
So yes, I'm with you, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:26:59):
Yeah, but I I was gonna say so much, and
I'm just like, the hands are tied.
Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
And like, I really can't say any of it.
Speaker 2 (01:27:17):
No. It's like, you know, I see people discussing stuff
on ex Twitter, and I'm like, I want to join in,
but I can't. Because we've had screeners. We cannot talk
about stuff. And even though people now know it because
it's leaks, we still can't talk about it. We are
not in the position to talk about stuff that's illegally leak.
(01:27:40):
Even though it wasn't you know, it was a ceaseful,
we can't talk about it. So I like, my hands
are tied, and I'm like, there's a lot of things
I would look to discuss, but I can't until the
episode's aired. And I think, you know this, this is
the halfway point in the season, and there's a lot
(01:28:00):
that building up to its resolution, or to today's peak anyway,
and that's why there's a lot of things that happen
in this episode are really you need to you need
what happens next to talk about them, because they're yeah, yeah,
the culmination is coming very soon.
Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
But but yeah, I can.
Speaker 1 (01:28:28):
I do have I don't even know where to go
with my Suspender Awards because I have so many.
Speaker 3 (01:28:38):
I'm just going to give out multiple this episode.
Speaker 2 (01:28:43):
The spenders all around. But so who.
Speaker 1 (01:28:48):
Gets your angel wings this week? And and well, it's
going to.
Speaker 2 (01:28:52):
Have to be the beloved Sylvie who gave her life
for Lauren and I just loved her, and you know
she had because she I'm assuming she's supposed to be
about twenty ish and she has had no knowledge of
life as an adult except in the abbey. And she
(01:29:14):
comes out of the abby she finds this cute boy
and she's like, maybe I don't want to be a
nun and and you know, but she's so loving of
Lauren and she has so much love to give and
she could have had she could have been such a
good person because even though she had the faith, she
didn't have the faith like Lussande and she would tape
(01:29:34):
tamper it with humanity and could have been a great person.
So I'm so sad that, and she just was a
lovely character and I were a great actress, and she
had a really nice screen presence. She gave off something
very sweet and lovely. So I'm sad.
Speaker 1 (01:29:52):
Yeah, I am too. I really wish that they had
given her a happy ending.
Speaker 3 (01:29:57):
Yeah, but I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:30:02):
I mean, I guess they really couldn't because yeah, I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:30:06):
Her happy ending has to well, I can't say.
Speaker 1 (01:30:08):
Never mind, I'm getting kind of myself again, So how
about how about suspenders for you?
Speaker 2 (01:30:17):
Suspender? I kind of I thought about Remy, but I
feel bad for him because it was out of the
love of his husband, who was ill. So you know,
six people got to stick together. So I think I'm
going to give it to that awful soldier who threw
his lensil stew on the floor because man, don't you
know lentils are lovely? How dare you let up? And
(01:30:40):
are you just being an asshole for no reason? Just
to be an asshole? And he thought it would you know,
he would humanly a young girl who's a kitchen staff
and I was like, no, there's no need for that.
Be an asshole because you want to rule the world. Okay,
Like Jenny at least.
Speaker 7 (01:30:56):
I can understand that mentality, but not when you're just
being an asshold just because you're a guy.
Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
So no, he gets.
Speaker 1 (01:31:09):
I am also going to agree with you on the
Angel Wings.
Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
Yeah, and give him to Sylvie.
Speaker 1 (01:31:14):
I mean it's it's you know, it's our only chance
to do it, and we you know, I really liked
her character a lot, and she you know, she did
good this episode.
Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
Yes, suspenders.
Speaker 1 (01:31:29):
First of all, the asshole woman in the beginning.
Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Oh yeah, I forgot my heart.
Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
You never some suspenders? Yes, I'm going to, uh, I don't.
I think Darryl actually didn't do anything.
Speaker 2 (01:31:51):
Silly this episode, did he No, he didn't know, he
didn't really know. He did some fights and that.
Speaker 1 (01:31:57):
With all of the suspenders I'm giving out in this award,
it shocks me that Daryl's not getting any Yeah, because Darryl,
Darryl's had had quite a few suspender wors open.
Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
Yes, yeah for sure, but.
Speaker 1 (01:32:17):
Yeah, yeah, I'm not giving him any suspenders this week. Obviously,
Love sang Yeah. And I It's like, so we have
this thing on our front podcast where we we have
(01:32:38):
like there's this thing in the show from It's the Box.
It's like their form of punishment, and so our our
l VP for that is, you know, somebody's going in
the box.
Speaker 3 (01:32:49):
Who's who's going in the box.
Speaker 1 (01:32:50):
There's one character in particular that we've put in a
forever box because he's always going to be in the
box every episode. So I think that I think I
Sang and Jane are pretty much going to share, you know,
shares permanent suspenders. Yeah, but uh yeah, so I'm I'm
(01:33:15):
going with the woman in the beginning and.
Speaker 3 (01:33:20):
Remy for giving Carol up.
Speaker 1 (01:33:25):
And Carol, my favorite character ever is getting the suspenders
this week.
Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
Because she made so many boneheaded moves.
Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
Yeah, Like, and it's it's.
Speaker 1 (01:33:45):
The writing because Carol is so smart. She's so smart,
and you know, and I feel like I have this.
I feel the same way about Megan and Michelle when
they do something stupid, because like, those three characters, in
my opinion, are the smartest from the Walking Down universe. Yeah,
you should never do anything that's poorly thought.
Speaker 2 (01:34:06):
Out, No, I agree, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:34:09):
Yeah, And she was just making blunder after blunder in
this episode.
Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
Yeah. The only thing I can see in defense of it,
and it's not the face, is she's you know, maybe
they don't want her to be too meaty suit and
she'ld be perfect. So she does make mistakes. Yeah, and
as I said, you know, her carelessness is out of desperation. Yeah,
(01:34:39):
she doesn't speak freight.
Speaker 3 (01:34:44):
Oh my gosh. But yeah, I'm going to uh.
Speaker 1 (01:34:49):
I also want to give give some some miniagel wings
to to uh Caudrone yay.
Speaker 3 (01:34:58):
For you know, for giving up the goods, for killing
Daryl or to Daryl.
Speaker 2 (01:35:06):
There was something I wanted to point out, and I
was like, she would wait until next week, but I
can take this week as well. At the end of
episode two, Isabelle has learned the truth about what's going
on at the Nest, which is obviously a huge deal
and has rocked her face and so much so that
she's like, Okay, I'll go back to America with you
(01:35:28):
and you know in this week. Then she she saves
Laurent forever. We did not get a single scene of
her talking to Laurent in this episode, not one, Yeah,
we didn't. We didn't get a scene about her discussing
her lack of her loss of faith, how it's crumbled,
but what does she believe now? How does she feel
(01:35:51):
about her part and what happened to Laurent that she
was the one who said he was special, and this
is what it's led to her guilt over that nothing. Yeah,
she became in this episode and since episode two and this,
she has just become this person, this that is interested
(01:36:11):
in Darryl and that's all her character is produced to
and that really annoys me. Yeah, because you know, she
was an interesting character. We liked her in season one
and when we saw that she was being manipulative of
Darryl in season when we thought, oh, this is an
interesting character who's going to have and they stripped all
of that away, and all she is I want to
(01:36:32):
go to America with Daryl in this.
Speaker 3 (01:36:35):
And you know, and to do that with like.
Speaker 1 (01:36:40):
With someone like Clements, who's a very well respected actress
exactly and very talented, it's kind of infuriating, Like it's
just I don't it really bothers me how she was
how she was treated.
Speaker 2 (01:37:01):
Yeah, as a character, Yeah, yeah, like.
Speaker 1 (01:37:05):
All along, because you know, in season one she was
the female lead, but they they just.
Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
They made it seem like she was a stand in
for Carol.
Speaker 1 (01:37:20):
Yeah, yes, which was really upsetting, Like she should be
her own character. She should yes, yeah, and season two,
like you know, she's she's absent from her motion, like
they don't they you don't even hear.
Speaker 3 (01:37:35):
Them mention her name. No, no, I mean Isabelle? Where
what Isabelle still a character on the show?
Speaker 2 (01:37:41):
Really?
Speaker 3 (01:37:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
I normally decided that uh Laurent and his family, Yeah,
didn't even see me.
Speaker 1 (01:37:52):
It's like, I I just don't get it.
Speaker 3 (01:37:55):
I mean no, they they like.
Speaker 1 (01:38:00):
He was written so wonderfully mean. So it's not that
they can't write for female characters.
Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
And Carol is written really other than making a few
stupid move she has written really well. The Caroll stuff
is fantastic. It's deep and it's interesting and it's funny
and it's where's that For Isabelle it's just and it's
and it's even worse that she's a nun. They did
(01:38:29):
not have to make her none. They did not have
to have both nuns in the series immediately start kissing men.
It made sense with Sylvie Moore because she was young,
and they had the conversation where Isabelle says, you didn't
choose this, this was kind of thrust upon you, where
(01:38:51):
it's isabel said, I made a choice. I'd lived life,
so to have them both and as soon as they
stepped foot out of the abbey, oh there's the hot
guy Mac on them. You know, it's like, it's just
so disappointing, is what it is. What it is, And
we don't say it to be like, oh, you know
deliberately we want to hate Isabella or whatever, because it's
(01:39:13):
not like that. We we want to to understand more
of her in season two, to get more of her,
you know, the way we're getting more of j Let's
get more of Isabella and her faith and how her
relationship with Laurent is being affected by this faith. And
and so there's been three episodes and she hasn't had
a scene with Lauren. I don't think that there's the
(01:39:35):
group scene with Klou and Daryl Laurent running, but she
doesn't have She hasn't had any one on one conversation
with Laurn. You know, they're playing baseball, but it's not
face to face conversation between them. It's just groups interactions.
And that's when the whole whole show is built on
(01:39:56):
her relationship to Laurn and that she wanted Diald to
be as protector. So then you go and forget about
that dynamic.
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
It's it's upsetting because I feel like, I mean, you
could take her out of the show and shut it, like,
wouldn't if it wouldn't affect the story.
Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
Yep, it wouldn't affect this.
Speaker 1 (01:40:16):
And the only like I feel like, the only reason
that she's there at that point is too, you know,
is to be a stand in for Carol.
Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:40:29):
Ye, And that's like that's just really upsetting. I mean,
it's just it gives me the ick. Man, it just
does like it's she should have she needs to have
her own storyline.
Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
And she's like, yes, as you say, you know, if
she take care of the story. She had to exist
to get Daryl on the road with Lawn, but after
that point, if she had died at some point in
season one, the story would have still carried on exactly
the same. Dara wants to leave, but he feels conflictive
(01:41:03):
because he wants to protect Laurent. He gets a boat
to the to the the cub boat comes to beach,
but Lart pops up and he takes laur On back
and he's got to train him and he wants to
help him until they can get another boat. But he
also still starts to feel responsible for Laurent and he
doesn't want to abandon him. It doesn't make her existence
(01:41:24):
or not existence. But that makes absolutely no difference to
the pot.
Speaker 1 (01:41:29):
Yeah, and you know the thing is, you could almost
in a way make the same argument for Fulu, But
f Lou's role is very clear. Flu is kind of
like the sidekick role, you know, like he's I mean,
he's there to he's there to make shit happen.
Speaker 3 (01:41:48):
He's there to like, say, the day and to like help.
Speaker 1 (01:41:56):
Accomplish their goals and get all these things done that
you know. But Daryl and whoever else wants to get done,
I mean, he's he's very He's the Daryl of the
original Walking Dead series.
Speaker 3 (01:42:09):
It's, uh, did I lose you? Are you there? Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:42:14):
No, No, okay, I'm just gonna keep talking and hopefully
I'll get you back at some point. Anyway, Oh, we
we lost don lost her?
Speaker 3 (01:42:28):
Damn it.
Speaker 1 (01:42:29):
Sorry, guys, I don't know what's been happening with Streamyard lately.
I'm about to just pull the plug on it and
go somewhere else because it's it's been bad. But it's anyway,
what I was saying about Fillu is that flu is
kind of like what Daryl was to the main series.
(01:42:51):
He's you know, he's he's the right hand, he's the
guy that saves the day. And the sidekick doesn't necessarily
have to have that strong of a storyline. They're just
they're there to, you know, to to help the main
character be a hero and to hold their own heroics.
Speaker 3 (01:43:11):
But yeah, it just it sucks that that Isabelle.
Speaker 1 (01:43:15):
Couldn't have more storyline and it's just it's it's really
bothersome because it's just it it rubs me wrong just
because she's primarily because she's a woman, and like women
have been treated so poorly in TV for so long,
and it just so I I just hate seeing this
(01:43:37):
stuff happen. But anyway, we we lost on so I'll
get going, but I just wanted to remind you all
we uh, we've got two new podcasts that we just launched.
The Teacup TV podcast that is Teacup just premiered this
(01:43:58):
past week. They are showing two episodes a week, their
half hour episodes, so it's really easy, easily digestible, and
it's it's really great so far. It's uh, it's created
by James One, the guy you know who brought us
Saw and the Conjuring and all kinds of good stuff.
Great cast bons for Hofsky, Scott Speedman, Luciana Lubu who
(01:44:22):
played Hobby on on Yellow Jackets. We're loving it so far.
It's really really spooky. Gave me gave me nightmares at
one point.
Speaker 3 (01:44:32):
Oh there she is, Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:44:35):
There you are, and I have a different room. Wait
until I tell you what's happen.
Speaker 3 (01:44:43):
Oh no, okay, tell me. I need to hear this.
Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
I was accidentally on data, not Wi Fi because, as
I told Kelly told you just before my phone was
hot speak, I had to reset it and I hadn't
put the password in my WiFi, so I was on
my data and I ran out of data, coming to
(01:45:10):
another room where the WiFi is because I haven't got
the password, and connects up to it man and flipped
as well, like my sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (01:45:27):
At least it happened towards the end, you know, I was.
Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
Like, why is it going off? I don't understand, And
then I was like.
Speaker 1 (01:45:33):
Oh no, it's funny because like the way you were
sitting when you froze, you were in a very like
intense listening position. You're let's make it. And then suddenly
I realized, I'm sorry, sorry, Oh I just couldn't understand
(01:46:03):
it first. So I've used my entire month's data. Oh
my god, Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:46:12):
Right, no, it was my own food, just checked. It
just didn't even occur to me anyway. I'm sure you
said something really important and interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:46:20):
While I was now, I basically was just saying, how
like what we were saying about Isabelle, the same could
almost be said for Flu.
Speaker 3 (01:46:28):
But yeah, but Flu's role is very clear. He's the
right hand.
Speaker 2 (01:46:31):
Man, Yeah, you know exactly. He's the Donald.
Speaker 3 (01:46:36):
That's what I said. He's like, he's like what Daryl
was to the main series.
Speaker 2 (01:46:39):
Basically, yes, yes exactly, Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:46:42):
He's there just help say the day you know.
Speaker 2 (01:46:44):
Yes, yeah exactly. And as you say, she is supposed
to be the was the leading lady, so she should
have more impact on the story than that.
Speaker 3 (01:46:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:46:54):
Yeah, absolutely, Yeah, So that that's all I was saying.
Did you have any more notes about the show that
you want?
Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
So? I think that's the you know, the the important
parts is that it's you know, it's all starting to
I think I would say I would call this like
the the peak of the story's peaks here and then
it's a different trajectory from this point on. So it's yeah,
we've reached the sort of climax of bringing everything together
(01:47:23):
in this and they're all at the nests and you
know it's about to kick off.
Speaker 3 (01:47:28):
I'm I'm going to be bitching a lot in the
next episode.
Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
Yeah, Can I just for warm people that the next
episode I'm going to be talking a heck of a
lot shippy and it's yeah, it's very hard too, and
it will So if you're not interested in that, I apologize,
(01:47:54):
But it's about it's a lot about symbolism and that
kind of thing. Rather oh, you know, it's more of
bright story debt, So hopefully your people will understand why
rather than yeah, I'm not just gonna go oh kute.
Speaker 1 (01:48:12):
Yeah, yeah, no, it's yeah. Oh god, I can't wait
till next week to talk about it. I have a
lot of complaints, but.
Speaker 11 (01:48:23):
Yeah, I I just wanted to remind everybody that we
well I just told everybody about our new teacup podcast.
Speaker 2 (01:48:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:48:35):
I was just in the middle of saying they they
it's really digestible. They basically come out with there's eight
episodes total in this first season. They come out with
two a week, but they're half hour episodes. Oh, and
we are gonna our recaps are basically going to be
available every Tuesday and Thursday after the episode drop, which
(01:48:55):
I think they actually drop at midnight, so like early on,
so our shuffle be up early morning on Tuesday and Thursday. Also,
we are going to be launching another podcast, uh this
week actually this coming week called death Crunch. That's d
E T H K R U n c H and
(01:49:17):
that is our podcast covering the new show Hysteria.
Speaker 3 (01:49:22):
With Bruce Campbell. So we're really excited about that.
Speaker 1 (01:49:25):
And that's also on Peacock and it premieres next Friday,
so our recap will be up immediately following the episode. Also,
we have the From podcast, the From series podcast, which
we are you know, covering on the audio apps as
well as our channel. Everything is covered on the audio
(01:49:45):
apps on the channel, but Sunday nights we do a
live after show for From From and the Book of
Carol are on at the same time. Fortunately, yeah, yeah, unhelpful.
So I actually had to I kind of had to
choose which which show to do an after show for
and I was like, yeah, this, this one isn't.
Speaker 3 (01:50:07):
Really worth it. I'm going with From.
Speaker 1 (01:50:10):
Yeah, so so if you're watching From join us immediately
following new From episodes every Sunday. Of course, you know,
Book of Carol might still be going, you know, AMC
and they're there.
Speaker 3 (01:50:24):
Are long episodes. But also just a reminder, and I
have the graphic here.
Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
Yeah, so we've got our David al pay cameo giveaway
for our From fans or you know, hell, I mean
maybe you've never seen him From but you're a fan
of The Tutors or Vampire Diaries or you know any
of the other shows he's been in. But uh, you know,
if you're if you're a From fan, obviously you know
he plays Jade on the show, and he's very, very funny,
(01:50:55):
and I I've referred to him as like, if I
had to compare him to any Walking Dead character.
Speaker 3 (01:51:05):
He's like the love child of Daryl and Eugene.
Speaker 2 (01:51:12):
No, that is intrigued to me.
Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
Yeah, it's such a fascinating character, like one of the
most interesting ones in the show. But yeah, his his
cameos are are really fun.
Speaker 3 (01:51:31):
So you can jump on one of our live after
shows or comment.
Speaker 1 (01:51:38):
On any of our episodes for any of our shows
for a chance to for an entry into the giveaway.
You don't get an entry per comment, but you get
an entry per comment or per video that you comment
on or per after show that you show off at
and use the chat so we know you're there obviously.
(01:51:58):
But yeah, lots of fun things happening soon that I'm
hoping that we'll be able to talk about soon. But
in the meantime, oh, we also have a a really
fun exclusive. Well actually no, it's you guys. Yeah, the
episode will have already aired on From.
Speaker 2 (01:52:17):
So yeah, that's all.
Speaker 1 (01:52:20):
It's so confusing to me because they dropped late at
night and I was thinking this might go up before,
but no that because the From episodes.
Speaker 3 (01:52:27):
Air early too. Yeah, so yeah, never mind, you will
have seen it. But all right, anyway, so yeah, check
out all of.
Speaker 1 (01:52:38):
Our podcasts, and we're also going to be this is
a bit further off, but we're also going to be
covering Severance once we get done with this Crazy Falls.
Speaker 3 (01:52:48):
Yeah, really excited about that. But all right, thanks so
much for joining us everyone, and uh, we will see
you next week.
Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
Bye. Here
