I'm very happy to be here. And uh yeah, I'm I'm like
I told Pamela the other day,I'm like, I'm like, yeah,
Jazzy's awesome. Like I just hopethat that, you know, the three
of us can can get on screenall at once. Yeah, Yeah,
(00:54):
that would be really that would bereally cool. Excellent podcast vibes. Yeah
she does, and she had neverdone a podcast before. Oh were you
serious? Yeah, I feel securebecause this is my first one too,
and she seems very pro Yeah.My Walking Dead co host Don she's a
(01:14):
podcast bateran. But and my firsttwo co hosts, Melanie. Melanie had
done a podcast, Emily had not. So I'm I'm so happy to do
that. Yeah, it's a goodlike entry point makes me feel protected.
Yeah for sure. Now, guys, what's funny about this is Jazzy just
(01:42):
got me hooked on this show,Like was it like a week a week
agogo? Yeah, and now likewhy am I not covering? I found
it through the Yellow Jackets fandom.Everyone in the Yellow Jackets Facebook group was
(02:07):
like, if you if your brainis itching for more Yellow Jackets, check
out this series. It's got thatsame vibe. But I was like,
I'll give it an episode. There'sno way it's as good as Yellow Jackets.
And then I, like seventeen hourslater I watched the entire series,
was like, what happened? Ilove it? Yeah, it's it's so
(02:28):
much fun. It's such an interestingconcept and I already love horror, so
yeah, the nice like fresh entryinto that genre. Yeah, yeah,
I'm loving it so far. Istill haven't finished all of season two,
but I'm close to it. Butshe's gonna blow your mind. Not to
(02:50):
get ahead, but oh wow,Okay, I'm excited. But it's like,
you know what, a show juststicks with you for like days that
like there was just like I meanthree weeks where I was waking up going
what happened? That's awesome? Rightaround the corner. Yeah, for sure,
(03:13):
for sure. So we're basically thisis going to be from Fridays.
We're live right now just because ofthe we just decided to do the podcast
this week and you know, couldn'tget it done, like couldn't really record
on time and for it to getout on Friday, so you know,
(03:34):
mun today, but you know it'swe'll probably we'll probably not be live most
of the time. I don't know, We'll see. We'll see what happens.
Maybe like enough people show up andI want to do a live thing.
Who knows. But so the writerfor this episode was John Griffin and
(03:58):
the director is Jack Bender. Nowthe people behind from are like, isn't
it the same writers from Lost?I know it's the same EP team.
I think it's some of this.I think a lot of the creative staff
is from Lost, which was surprisedme because I remember reading how what a
(04:26):
bad following out Harold pier and Nowhad had with the Lost, Like creatives,
what, It's such a good vehiclefor him. He's so fantastic in
it. Like, I'm really gladthat worked out whatever went on behind the
scenes on that other show. Yeah, I was a big Lost lossy at
the time when I came out.Yeah, he's so good. And I'm
(04:49):
almost positive I read somewhere that ScottGimble at one point wanted Harold Parano for
King Ezekiel, which would have beenreally interesting. That would be I mean,
I love the guy who but what'shis name? Harry Peyton? All
(05:09):
right, thank you, Harry. It's amazing. But I could definitely see
Harold parent now just eating up thatrole. Oh yeah, for sure,
for sure. Well, yeah, let's get into it. Yeah, so
it starts out with I I loveit. Boyd is just you know he's
(05:34):
the sheriff. Yes, yes,he's he's ringing the bell, which you
know, signaling everyone to return totheir home. So it must be just
like a like my husband is like, wouldn't they why did they need a
bell? Wouldn't they just go in? But I'm like it's probably you know,
(05:57):
especially in like high emergency situations likethat, it is good to have
like sets of rules for people tofollow. It makes Yeah, I think,
like, uh, when fire likepeople tend to when the fire alarm
goes off, like lineup and singlefile lines and go down. Yeah,
because that's how they've been drilled todo it from childhood, you know,
(06:20):
maybe yeah, like over like toomuch to do, but it was made
for a great starting place, especiallywith the song, like the song being
so cheerful and the like entry beingso killing. I I love that song
so much. I love that band, The Animals. Yeah, I like
(06:44):
just a huge fan. And Icannot believe I didn't mention this already.
One of my favorite bands. Doesthe theme song the Pixiesies, Yeah,
that was their cover. Yeah,it doesn't sound like them at all,
Like it's you know, I hadto listen to it really really closely to
(07:08):
recognize Frank black voice because I'm justused to singing so differently now that you
can hear it and like, yeah, playing in my head. But yeah,
yeah, yeah, so do.I a huge fan. I got
to see them live once, butyeah, so it's you know. And
(07:30):
and the the little table top jukebox actually just kind of turns on by
itself, which is really strange. That happens kind of throughout the series.
We see a young woman who welater find out is Sarah, telling everybody
you know, get out, gohome, box up the diner, and
(07:55):
uh, a little girl named Meganis playing on a swing set, and
you know, she wants to stayout, but Boyd tells her go back
inside. We then see it's wherewe go to the clinic where we see
Christy with and his dad. Yeah, and like his dad is really upset
(08:22):
because he wants to keep playing chessand it's just like that actually so cute.
I know, I know him.Yeah, I just like I loved
I loved this guy. Like Ijust I just felt it just it just
brought out a lot of emotion. That scene just brought out a lot of
(08:46):
emotions. You know. It wasso short and like like quick, but
like I immediately got attached to thatcharacter. He's adorable. Yeah. I
also like, like I was watchingwith my husband. He was talking about
how like as boys walking through thetown, how like foreboding it is.
But to me, I was like, this looks like every part of West
(09:09):
Virginia where I grew up. AndI was like that it just seems like
a normal Tuesday to me. Buthe's like, yeah, yeah, what
do you mean it looks like mychildhood home. Well yeah, she you
know, she tells, she tellshim that it's time for him to go
(09:30):
to the basement, and he getsa little upset, but first she calms
him down and he goes downstairs. We then see you know, Kenny and
Christie talking and you know, he'sken, looks like he's got he's got
some hearts in his eyes for Christie, I mean beautiful. Yeah, I
(09:54):
feel like partially is this a townthat only takes like eighty percent models?
Like why is everyone so hot?But yeah, Christy and Kenny both great
looking kids? Yeah, yeah forsure, but yeah, you know,
he she tells him to get home, so everyone, you know, everyone's
(10:18):
going inside. Boyd is going intohis office and we see a sign outside
that says Nights without Incident ninety six. We then see Tom the bartender,
and a cast out man named Frankwho's lying on the floor drunk, you
(10:41):
know, trying to get him upto go leave. Meanwhile, his we
find out later his wife and daughterare, you know, just kind of
standing by the door, like wherethe hell is he? So Megan,
the little girl, goes upstairs tosay her prayer and she hears an old
(11:01):
woman knocking at the window and she'sshe says, Megan, it's grandma,
and she said she's not supposed toopen the window, but you know,
the woman says, we'll keep ita secret, and Lauren gets upstairs.
He's Megan in front of the window, says, that's not your grandmother.
(11:24):
Do not open the window. Meganopens the window reveal and I get that
she's a little kid. But Megan, that's a second story window and a
very old woman. Yeah, Iyeah, I mean, and you would
(11:46):
think little kids have Little kids havestrong imaginations. I'm thinking back to when
I was that age and if someold lady was telling me that she was
my grandma and and look like mygrandma, and my mom was like,
Kelly, don't that's not your grandmother. Don't open the window the ground.
(12:11):
Yeah, I would be terrified.I wouldn't want to open the window.
I would be too scared. I'dbe like, Mom, I'm sleeping with
you tonight. But yeah, Megan'sjust like, let's just throw caution to
the wind. She just happens. What's the worst do? Oh my god?
(12:37):
Yeah, and then she just turnsinto a horrifying creature and attack them.
Scary is such a gad heal,it was already creepy, but the
monster is, oh yeah, terrifying, well done, horrifying, Just such
a great way to start to startoff m of your episode. Yeah,
(13:01):
so the next morning we see theMatthews family. They're taken on taken off
on a road trip in an RV. Inside. Uh, Julie, the
daughter is playing with her younger brotherEthan's like little finger puppet things, and
she's like, she basically kills offNorman. And yeah, yeah, she
(13:28):
kills she kills off Norman. Hehe like got eaten by a monster or
like attacked by a monster. Andand Ethan gets really upset and uh and
he's like bring it back to life. But you know, Julie, Julie
just refuses. She has she justshe's just you know, she has has
an ice, icy cold heart forNorman. Such a teen. Yeah,
(13:54):
but you know it's like a typicalfamily, you know, like the parents
are yelling at you really well casttoo, like they look like a family.
Julian Tabby, Yeah, really somuch alike. But yeah, it's
it's like it just seems like sucha typical family. You know. It's
(14:16):
like the the daughter is just liketrying to being a little a little bratty
and getting yelled at, and thesun is upset and the parents are yelling
at him. It reminds me ofevery road trip I've ever been on,
for sure. So yeah, andyou know, it's just funny because Ethan,
(14:41):
you know, Ethan says that monsterskilled Norman and tab that the tells
him that monsters aren't real, whichmeans that Norman is still alive, which
I think is just really interesting,Like it's an interesting thought, you know,
after watching most of the series.Yeah, I don't know everything in
(15:01):
her story is foreshadowing, but thereit feels like they're a good bit of
foreshadowing in the story that Julie istelling Ethan in the beginning. Yeah,
yeah, I agree. So weuh, we then see it's the next
day. We see a hungover Frankwalking back to his house and there's a
(15:31):
bunch of people outside. You know, he's he's like thinking, you know,
his wife just got them all alltogether there. But BOYD comes out
furious and just I mean, likejust talk about wrath. I mean,
yes, Harold eats up the scene, like, yeah, yeah he does.
(15:56):
I mean, I know it's youknow, like fantasy and and and
horror whatever, but like I honestlythink that he thinks it's real. He
really, like he brings me intoit. He's so committed and so intense
in every scene, I'm like, this is happening, like, clearly this
(16:17):
is this is a serious problem.Yeah. Yeah, for sure. I
could go on about him all day. He's terrible. Romeo plus Juliette is
like my clear awakening. Yeah, just I love him. But yeah,
yeah, he was. He wasreally great in that him doing that Queen
(16:42):
Map speech. I was like,I don't know ten years old, and
I was like, I don't knowwhat's happening here, but I really like
it. That's awesome. But yeah, Boyd's like just screaming at him.
He's like, you have a child, you nail down the you nail the
window shut, and so, youknow, he says that Frank realizes what
(17:07):
happened, and he basically just dragshim up to Megan's room and forces them
to look at their bodies, andI mean it is just horrifying ruesome.
Yeah. I mean they're yeah, yeah, there and there. It is
(17:36):
rough to look out, like they'rereally like uh really well dug constructed,
you know, body casts and everything. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, yeah,
it was. It was good.Yeah, and you know he's just
of course he's he's breaking down intears a freaking out, but Boyd orders
(18:06):
Kenny to lock him up and uh. On the way out, he passes
father Katrey, who grows upstairs toprobably to you know, administer last rights,
I'm guessing. So then we getback to the Matthews family and Jim
(18:30):
is reminiscing about the first time heand Tabitha met her parents, and you
know, this is where you startgetting the feeling that there's tension, you
know, yeah, like she doesn'tlike Jim says something about, you know,
(18:55):
it reminds something, reminding him thatthings weren't always the way they are,
and Tabitha's like, don't try anddo that. It's just you you
can tell there's obvious tenses. Yeah, and yeah. Yeah. They then
cross they they they come across aa gigantic tree blocking the road. So
(19:22):
they check it out and you know, it's it's just the one tree,
and they see a flock of crowsjust kind of circling overhead, and you
know, they can't get past thetree, so they just get in the
you know, get back in theRV and try to circle back. When
(19:45):
I saw this, it it broughtback a horrible memory for me. So
we have a pretty big backyard andare like our family room is kind of
it's all windows, and so youknow, you walk in there and you
(20:08):
can see the entire backyard. AndI woke up one day and I walked
into the family room and I sawjust a ton of crows and seagulls,
and I was like, oh no, this isn't good. And sure enough,
(20:32):
I see a crow fly off witha teeny tiny little baby rabbit leg.
Oh yeah, it's like I sawall those crows and see it like,
that's the only time I've ever seenseen a gull in my backyard.
You know, you see that manycrows and seagulls. You know, something
diedikes. But so back you know, back at the town, boyd approaches
(21:07):
a woman named Donna, who she'skind of like the leader of this place
called Colony House, and they havean agreement that he's not supposed to he's
not supposed to come by there, and uh, he says, he just
wants to see a son, Soyou know, she she invites him in
(21:30):
and he goes upstairs and we seethe most beautiful couple I've ever seen in
my Yeah ever they win, Yeah, yeah, they are both so beautiful.
There is Yeah, I've never seena more beautiful couple ever rooms here
(21:55):
paybald Bardrum but uh yeah, yeah, they're just oh my god, they're
just both so beautiful. And he'spainting her and uh he's sketching her and
uh boyd walks in and you know, and Fotoma's like very happy to see
(22:21):
him. She gives them big hug, but you know, he's Alice is
not happy to see his father, and we don't find out why. There's
tension there for a while, butyou know, he's just there to tell
him that they lost a couple ofpeople and it would be nice if he
came to the funeral service. Butoh my god, yeah, I just
(22:47):
this this couple is ridiculous. Theyare so beautiful and they are also just
so wholesome and kind. Just Iknow, I would really like to be
friends with them in real life.It would be Yeah, they seem wonderful.
(23:10):
Yeah, it's also like, sure, I we haven't spent very much
time there, but the vibes atColony House just always have seemed off to
me. Wild a cute little house, but yeah, cute they are.
I love them so much. Butyeah, so you know, back on
(23:33):
the road, the the Matthews arelooking for the highway and they've got no
cell reception, but they make itinto the town just as the funeral is
is ending, and you know, everyone notices the CRV kind of stares at
(23:57):
it, and Boyd and Kenny gogo up and talk to Jim and he
asks where the highway is, andBoyd tells him to follow the road up
the hill away and he'll see it, which which I figure is probably the
(24:18):
smart thing to do, you know, like you don't want to no,
I like, okay, So wesee later on that there, we see
later we see newcomers later on thatjust get thrown into it into the situation
(24:41):
really fast, and they're you know, they're they're not really believing what's going
on. But with with Boyd tellingthem, you know, oh yeah,
just go up the road and you'llfind the highway, I think that's probably
the best decision that way. Likeif they keep circling around and keep ending
(25:03):
up back in the same place, then yeah, you have him figure it
out for themselves. Yeah, they'llthey'll realize something is weird, something weird.
Yeah, I feel like it wouldhave taken me way longer to stop
and ask for help going through thattown where they realize like all the tires
(25:26):
and all the cars are blown out. Yeah, just the entire town is
standing in the cemetery. I wouldhave been like, no, yeah,
probably would take me thirty or fortytrips round from Bill to stop my car.
Yeah, for sure. But oh, how they're going, you know,
(25:49):
Julie's Julie's being Julie again and tryingto terrify her her little brother and
uh, you know, telling himthat she tells that groups of crows are
called murders and that they're they're they'regonna they're gonna follow him and pack at
him in his sleep. She's sucha such a teen, I know.
(26:18):
I also love the reactions the sorrycontinue, I'm getting no reaction to uh,
to her mom saying in a kindnessof rivens is like, oh yeah,
the most she's just like, ohjoke, that was that was great.
(26:42):
Yeah, it's you know. Tabithatries to basically like make him feel
better by by saying she thinks thatthe crows were ravens and that a group
of ravens is called an unkindness, which isn't as scary and and yeah,
and and Julie has that exact reaction, so they end up right back in
(27:08):
town. So they're starting to freakout now. And we we see Sarah
looking for her her brother Nathan asas he's going to the bar at the
bar the barn and yeah, andyou know, and and they're kind of
(27:33):
watching the thervy and talking about ita little bit, and and the Matthews
are just figure it, trying tofigure out what the hell is going on
as everyone keeps staring at them. And that that's about and that's pretty much
the halfway point, because they thentry to get out of there again and
(27:53):
they're driving and driving along so youcan you can go ahead and take it
from there. So at this pointthere, Tabitha's really starting to freak out.
They're arguing her gym or arguing backand forth about uh, you know,
(28:14):
where the switch off is or howthey're ending up back in town,
and she's insisting it's because he's drivingtoo fast. When another car starts approaching
coming the opposite way and it's justdriving straight down the middle of the road
and they have to swerve to missit and roll off of the embankment.
And wreck their RV, which islike one of my watch Seeing that shot
(28:36):
from the inside of the RV turningover is one of my biggest fears.
Like, yes, I can't imagine. I don't know how they pulled that
off technically like in filming, becauseit looks so good. It's terry,
like Julie's body going from the couchto the ceiling to the floor. Like
yeah, biggest, one of thetop top ten biggest fears. Yeah,
(29:03):
so scary. So they like theycrashed. The other car has also they
hit a tree? Do they?I don't know what they Yeah, no,
I think they. I think theyhit a tree. Yeah. So
the driver gets out, he's bangedup and bloodied, and starts walking to
(29:26):
town. Sorry, I don't havea synopsis, just going off of memory.
Back at town, Boyd and Kennyare laying out a tax strip for
the r V for when it comesback through town to try to blow out
(29:47):
their tire, which is clearly whyall the tires in town are blown out,
which makes a lot of sense whenyou figure out what's going on.
They're trying to blow out the tiresof the RB they're bearing this tax strip,
and guy from the driver's the driverof the author card comes walking back
down the street. He's obviously injured. He lets them know that the RV
(30:08):
has flipped over. So Boyd goesrunning back in the direction of the accident
while they take him back to UHthe infirmary to get Christy and her supplies
and get him started being worked onbecause he clearly has some kind of like
head trauma. Boyd gets to theaccident and he finds uh Jade in the
(30:33):
backseat. Our our friend jade jeJade, who I just wanted to throat
punch for the entire first season andnow he's like my favorite character. He
is. But what what did yousay? I said? He is hashtag
(30:56):
hard to like, Oh yeah, but I felt like he was in the
back seat, so like this ishis friend. Toby is his friend from
like childhood or something, I thinkthey said, And he's just like in
(31:17):
Toby's just like driving him around likea chauffeur. Yeah, he's laying laying
down in the back seat, likelaid out. Yeah yeah, which is
so funny to me. Yeah.So Boyd gets uh pulls, helps get
Jad out of the car. Heis very clearly high on something. We
(31:41):
don't know. He confirms my theorythat everyone in this town is model hot
for some reason. He's just touchingBoyd's face and telling him how beautiful he
is. So Boyd handcuffs him tothe car and he heads down into the
embankment to grab the people out ofthe r V and the r We see
that Jim is trapped by a treebanch but unharmed. Tabitha has been knocked
(32:07):
out. She's unconscious and slumped againstthe ground of the RV's laying on the
ground against the passenger side. Julieseems to be okay, a little banged
up, but little Ethan it's gota table leg through his leg and he
is pinned to the to the floorof the r V by the table leg,
(32:28):
which looks awful. It is theeffects team on the show is incredible,
Like that looks so real and sopainful. Yeah, it really does.
He's just so little. It's socute. Not the babies, but
(32:52):
yeah. So the rest of therescuers arrived. Kenny and Christy and father
Contrey are in pickup and they stopand grab Ellis, who is laying out
flowers for the little girl and hermother, who passed away in the beginning
(33:12):
of the episode, and they he'sreally resistant to coming along, but they
get him, encourage him, andhe hops in the truck and comes out
to help. So they get tothe crash site. Christie checks on Jade.
He's still very high what's going on, but mostly unharmed. Ye.
(33:35):
So they get down to the rV and they're discussing that they only have
about forty minutes of daylight left andit's going to take her over an hour
to get him stabilized. Uh withthis leg out of his table, leg
out of his leg, and gethim stabilized. So Boyd asks if she
(33:58):
can do it in the r V, and out of his pocket, he
pulls some sort of amulet. Mymy friend and I have called them.
We started calling them masuzzas, whichI know it's accurate, but that's a
little charm that goes over your doorif you're Jewish. Calling them haunted missizzas.
(34:22):
They really like h He's to takethem some time, avoid some time
to convince Tabitha and Julie to goback to town with Kowchriy and Ellis and
Kenny while they take care of gettingEthan out of the r V, but
(34:43):
they eventually get everyone separated. Therest of them had to back to town
in the truck, and Christy andBoyd and Jim stay behind to help try
to get Ethan out. Christie startsadministering some meds to Ethan's some painkiller,
(35:04):
making sure he's away. Am Imissing anything? I feel like I'm that's
the right. No, No,I don't think so, yes, it's
oh well, uh, Sarah,I mean Sarah take Toby. At that
point, she was just like Tobywas. Toby was conscious and just banged
(35:28):
up, and she gives him aglass of water and yeah, like you
know, telling him to rest. That was about That was about it.
The other Toby part doesn't come tilllater. But actually, yeah, no,
no, no, I'm wrong,I'm sorry. Yeah. So yeah,
(35:53):
So Boyd tells them all to headhead to town. Jim kinsday,
yeah, and then Sarah and thenit goes back to it seems at first
that Sarah is there to help. She comes off I love the actress.
She comes off very sweet, andToby asks if everyone's okay, and she's
(36:15):
like, no, you heard somepeople and she apologizes to him and you're
not really sure why and then allof a sudden, she just ah and
stabs him through the mouth and throatwith some kind of sharpened stick, which
(36:36):
seems like such an ineffective way tokill someone, like very painful and take
a long time, but it doesn'ttake that long for Toby. Yeah,
yeah, nonchoice. Yeah, itwas definitely to watch and also being you
(36:58):
know, like, what is goingon with this girl? Yeah, what's
happening here? But yeah, SoToby passes away and we go back to
the RV where Boyd is trying tocover up all the windows make sure everything's
secure. Jim is questioning him, like, what are you doing? What's
(37:22):
going on? He says, I'mtrying to make sure the RV is safe,
but he doesn't explain any further.Jim is very confused, but Kristie
seems to be going with it,and she's the doctor, so he's,
you know, just listens. Wecome back to the truck and we see
(37:44):
them driving into town, just passingColony House when they run over the nails
strip, the spike strip that theyput out for the RV that they have
forgotten to remove when Toby had walkedup, So their tires are blown out
and the sun is going down rapidly, so everyone hops out up the truck
(38:05):
before that. I just want toknow if you because I swear to god,
I've watched this episode like three timesnow, and I did not catch
this until like the third time Iwatched it. When Tabitha doesn't want to
leave mm hmm, she tells himor she tells him that they need to
(38:34):
get Thomas out of the promise.Let's just take Thomas and go home.
Yeah, and it's even Yeah,he seemed to get like a pretty clear
indication that they've lost a child.Yeah, which is so devastitting. I
mean, it's just we get moredetails on that later on, but it's
(38:54):
just a very quick moment. Butthat's very important. That's a big part
of what's going on with your familydynamic, we find out later on.
Yeah. Yeah, so Sad,I forgot about that for a second.
I don't know why I didn't noticethat the first time, so weird.
(39:15):
I don't think I noticed it thefirst time either. I think it was
probably on a second viewing that Icaught that. Yeah. Yeah, and
then I completely proud about it justnow. So but is it's important?
Yeah? Yeah, but yeah, like I felt so bad for poor little
(39:37):
Ethan. Like when she was pullingthe table leg out of his out of
his leg, I just you know, he's screaming and oh my god,
his his seizure. He goes intoa seizure. And that looks so real.
Yeah, I did. I havea very hard time suspending my belief
(40:00):
from over a lot of things. But I feel like everyone want to show
it's so committed and so good.I was like, this is real,
pairil, someone saved this kid.Yeah, yeah, for sure, get
him out of here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know it's
(40:21):
like it's it's interesting because you know, night falls mm hmmm, and like
you just see tons of the creaturesaround the r V. Yeah, which
is you know, boy is carryingout the r V window and we see
tons of people and dress from variousages, all approaching the r V,
(40:45):
menacingly and and we'll you know,we'll see we'll see later why boy knew
knew that this would work mm hmm. But it's but yeah, it's I
mean, that's just absolutely terrifying. He didn't, he says to Christy,
(41:05):
because Christy, when he pulls theamulet out, she's like, will that
work? And He's like, Idon't know, and she's like, all
right, let's do it anyway.I was very like, when you,
I mean, eventually, when morecomes uncovered. It's very brave of her
to have tried that, because weknow that he survived out in the woods
using those ambulets before, but theyhad never tried it on a car.
(41:28):
So yeah, good to know thatthat's the way to make it last.
Yeah, yeah, for sure. Now I'm I'm not gonna get spoilery because
like there might be people, alot of people will find we'll find our
shows and just watch along, andyou know, they'll wait until the next
(41:52):
week and then you know, watchalong with us. But oh my god,
what the hell? Oh yeah,No, after I saw this,
(42:15):
After I saw this episode, myfirst thought was, you know, with
like Boyd losing his ship so onon Frank the way that he did,
and with Ellis and and Boyd likehaving tension, my first thought was,
(42:37):
I bet this happened with with Boydand like he was irresponsible and they lost
a like he lost a kid. That was my first thought, what's up?
That's a very good guess. Yeah, But but no, he was
(42:59):
just he was he was just reallyfucking pissed off. Yeah, but uh,
we got some some comments from youknow, Jade was probably laying in
the backseat actually because he was high. That's what I'm guessing. Yeah,
(43:22):
wild marjoram. Uh. The poolis going up tomorrow actually, so it'll
be open next week. So I'mI'm really excited. Sarah is very stabby.
Yeah, yeah, no kidding.Yeah do you do you remember?
(43:54):
Well before we ask who who wasyour m v P and your lv HE
for this episode? My MVP?Wait, what does LVP stand for least
valuable? Okay, MVP has gottabe Boyd. He is. He is
the man with the plan and reallylike he's just like he just brings to
(44:21):
every scene. Is just like hebrings it. He is so intense,
so committed and seems to be theonly person who really knows what's going on.
So Boyd is my MVP. MyLVP is gonna be Frank. I
don't know if you've ever worked asa bartender, but I I have to
(44:45):
wonder how long was he asleep onthe floor of that bar before that guy
gave up on him? Like Iknow, it's a loose vibe from in
Fromville, like you know, there'snot you know, a ton of rules.
He seems to be the only patronof the bar at the moment,
but like he was lay it out. Yeah, sat on the floor when
(45:07):
we see him, like, comeon, man, yeah really want should
get that drunk somewhere where there's monstersthat eat you. Yeah, I have
to I have to agree with you. My MVP is definitely boyed without a
doubt. I mean he you know, he helped they've even he helped,
(45:35):
you know, get his leg andin touch and he was like you know,
I mean he he was. Hewas the man in this episode.
He really shines. Yeah. SecondPlace, Uh Norman, Yeah, RP
Norman, RP Norman, We'll seeyou again. Gone to the Lake of
(45:57):
Tears LVP LVP is. Yeah.I would have to agree with you,
Frank for sure. Job with secondplace? Just being Megan, Megan,
(46:21):
what is wrong with you? You'renot a normal child. Children would be
terrified and you're like, I'm notscared. Come on, Meghan. Yeah,
Smiley in this episode. I don'tthink Smiley is in this episode?
(46:45):
Is Yeah, Yeah, I don't. I don't think he is either.
I love smiling. No, Ithink only the old Ladies is featured,
and the only other time we seethem is when they're approaching the RV and
he's not there. Then I think, because well, not to get ahead,
(47:09):
I think he's at Colony House oroutside Colony House. Gotcha, Okay,
in the next episode. All right, that's cool. Yeah, well
that yeah, I mean kind ofa great premier episode, like and if
you have it's like one of thosethings where you you have to, like
(47:32):
if you've got all the episodes there, if you're watching them after it came
out, like you have to.You just have to watch episode two right
away, like I've seen. Thisis my third watch through, and I
it was difficult for me to stopin the first episode, and I said,
I know what happened. I've seenthe whole series twice, Like,
(47:52):
there's no reason that I need towatch the second episode. I'm gonna save
it for next week so it's fresh. And I was just like, switch
back to the Walking Dead. Well, marg Uram said, is Megan a
little girl who lets creepy grandma in? Yes, Yes, that's that would
be Megan. Yeah, I wouldbe cowering in the corner. I oht
(48:19):
know what was wrong. I don'teither, I guess. I mean,
we haven't gotten that far yet,but it does seem that they that they
have some kind of power over childrenor are able to influence children more strongly
than adults. But like, howabout some critical thinking, Meghan, she's
(48:39):
she's hovering. Did your grandma hovered? Did she have levitation powers? Yeah?
Come on, girl, Oh mygosh. But yeah, yeah,
I can't wait to see Smiley's firstappearance. I think he shows up in
the next episode. Maybe I'm prettysure, but yeah, he's so he's
(49:04):
so, he's so creepy. Andyou know what's funny is I saw somebody
did an interview with the actor andI saw like the thumbnail was of like
the host in him, and helooks like, you know, he was
just smiling normally. But it totallyfreaked me out. I almost saw a
(49:29):
guy in public and he smiled atme. I probably peep my pants.
Yeah it's not like he's a scarylooking man, but he's just he really
can be creepy. Yeah, yeah, he's terrifying. So what when when
you when you first saw this, did you we first saw this premiere episode,
(49:53):
did you have like do you rememberwhat kinds of theories were floating around
in your head, like what youthought might be going on. Man,
I really like I feel like thatwas one of the best things about it
is that I had I just hadlike no idea at all what was happening.
(50:15):
And I that's what I like aboutit, is that it's difficult to
come up with theories just because everythingis so strange, and like it's like
to compare it to yellow Jackets, like it's yellow Jackets. Seems like there
could be there could both be likea logical real world explanation for what's happening,
(50:40):
and there could also be a supernaturalexplanation for what's happening. For from
there's no chance that there's a logical, real world's way to explain what's going
on. And I love that thereis some kind of banana stuff going on.
Yeah, you know, I thinkI think it When I first watched
the premiere, I think I wasthinking that, like all these people lived
(51:07):
in this town already and that itwas a normal town. But then something
happened and it got like blacked offfrom the rest of the world. And
if you do believe at one pointit was a normal town, oh yeah,
yeah, yeah, yeah, I'msure. Yeah, yeah, I'm
sure of it. But uh yeah, it's you know, it's it's funny
(51:32):
because your theories just change with everyepisode. It's it's just nutty and you
and it's like it and and peoplehave these these these dreams that are like,
you don't know what's happening. Imean, it's it's just you could
say and theorize about this show allfreakin' day to god, it just makes
(51:54):
my head hurt. But yeah,it's it. It seems like that the
main theory is that it's like somepocket universe. Yeah, that's what I
think. Yeah, maybe like ah, a government experiment that opened the pocket
(52:15):
dimension that people keep getting stuck in. But yeah, being very generous,
yeah yeah, I was on theexperiment train for a while. And then
when one of the characters brought thatup as a possibility, I was like,
damn it, that like a labexperiment, Like these people are actually
(52:38):
not there and they're all ling andyou know, in a laboratory somewhere.
What's that, I said, They'reall laying in a vat of do Yeah.
Yeah, and I saw a movielike that. I remember, like
I can't I can't remember what thename of it was, but it was
(53:01):
it was like that, it wasjust it was basically everybody was like living
in this perfect utopia. But thenyou find out at the end that they're
all in a lab and they're likethey're basically just being fed these these this
(53:24):
the same dream, the shared dream. Yeah, yeah, I can't remember
for the life of me what itwas, but yeah, and then there
was only like one woman who wasreally suspicious of the whole thing because like
her friend was just so different thanhe was before, and he was just
(53:45):
like, you know, he wasa little too polite and too you know,
like not himself, and and thatkind of ended up ruining the experiment.
But but yeah, that's what Ithought, That's what I was thinking
at first. And then you know, when one of the characters mentioned that,
(54:05):
I'm like like, ohh yeah, that's probably not it then, But
yeah, I like the Pocket thePocket Universe. No, it wasn't the
Matrix. It was. I can'tremember. I want to say that.
It's that the movie started with likewith immigrants coming coming across the border and
(54:43):
like and I don't know if theywere like I don't know if they if
they were if if it was coyotesor if it was if it was like
the government that grew them in atruck and and then they were part of
(55:04):
the Was it the Lazarus experiment?Maybe let me look that up because that
oh no, no, it wasn'tthe Lazarus experiment. But yeah, I'll
yeah, I just remembered what theLazarus Experiment was. Yeah, it definitely
wasn't that Dark City, I don'tthink so, yeah, I'll have to
I'll have to put in the commentswhat it was when I figure it out.
(55:29):
Hello, So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's an interesting
