(00:13):
Hey guys, what is up?What is up? What is up?
What is up? Thanks so muchfor joining us. Sorry we're a little
late. We uh man amc. It's been killing me with us not with
not giving us the uh the lasttwo screeners because it's like we are scrambling
(00:33):
at the last minute. Yeah,I'm not sleeping. Well it's and Dawn's
in Scotland, so she's on atotally different uh time zone. It's it's
rough, y'all. Yeah, Idon't make like easy for us at a
MC. Oh. Yeah, yeah, it's it's rough. But uh,
(01:00):
we are discussing the finale of theOnes Who Live and you guys are gonna
laugh at me now, but Idon't care. I just found my gray
headband, so I'm changing my headband. Doesn't just my swatter anyway. Yeah,
(01:23):
it's uh, you know, Iwas. I didn't read the I
didn't read the Oh. Yeah, they're so freaking short though. For this
show, I swear to god,it's literally Rick and Micheone have to perform
a near impossible miracle. That's theplots. Ano. Yeah that's all you
(01:49):
need to know. But yeah,it's my opinion. I shared this last
night and I think if you guyswere watching our after show, Tricia said.
Tricia echoed my thoughts perfectly. Inmy opinion, it was a series
(02:15):
finale. It was probably my leastfavorite of the season. But I rarely
like series finales. They're they're rarelylike other than Six Feet Under I don't
think I've ever which was fucking masterpiece. Did you watch Six Feet Under done?
(02:38):
I watched the first season, butI didn't watch after that. Oh
my god, that the finale ofthat show is like one of the best
things I've ever seen on TV.It was an absolute masterpiece, which which
is funny because I went on towatch Dexter after that for Michael C.
(02:58):
Hall, which had like the absoluteworst. But uh yeah, it's serious
and allies are rarely great. They'rehard to make great because it's like they
either they either leave things open theyyou know they're there, are loose ends,
(03:19):
or ties up a little too neatly, And in this case, it
tied up too neatly, which isbetter than leaving loosense. Totally, I
agree. It was one of thosethings you just have to kind of like
not think about too much, shutyour brain off a little, and just
enjoy it. For what it isthey gave. I mean, they gave
(03:43):
most of us what we wanted, which was important. We wanted Rick to
see his kids, and that wasthat's that's important that you know. Unfortunately,
that's what happened. And uh,you know, it was just there
were a lot of really ridiculous moments. But the one thing though that that
(04:13):
it did really, really, reallywell better than I could have anticipated,
is that I was sad that itwas coming to an end, and because
I just I love, Yeah,it's nice seeing Rick, but I mean,
I'm all about Michelle, and Iwas really sad about the idea of
(04:33):
not seeing her again after this, and they left it in such a good
place that I'm fine with it.Yeah, yeah, I'm fine with not
seeing these characters again because I'm satisfiedthat they got their happy ending exactly.
You don't want to see it disturbed. Like it's just, you know,
(04:54):
it wouldn't make saying Ricky, Micheand have done all this to get home
to the kids and then they likedays later, oh, we've just got
to go and fight something or findDonald or whatever, you know, any
ridiculous thing. No, we don'twant that. It destroys what you've given
us in this reunion, so that'sfine. Let them be happy. Yeah,
(05:16):
Okay, one thing is driving menuts. Okay, what ma Shone
was wearing at the end. Shehad that kind of like crochet shrug.
Yep, the white worn nuts before, right, Yeah, yeah she had
on. Yeah, I'm sure shedon Yeah, I swear I've seen it,
and it's driving me nuts. Likeas to when I've seen her wear
(05:39):
it before, I feel like itwas a long time ago almost yeah.
Yeah, yeah, I'm thinking likeseason season three, No, maybe season
six, yeah, maybe I feellike it was early on. Yeah,
but it was just it was drivingme nuts. I was so focused on,
(06:00):
like, I know I've seen herwear that before. Hey, Ampara,
thanks for joining us. She shehas, you know, with the
necklace came back, so wind outa shrug. Yeah yeah, there you
go, as long as you know, as long as the us long as
(06:21):
the headband has gone. Because herhair looks so good the way it is
now, I just love it.Not that there was not that there was
anything wrong with it before, butI just I love her hair now,
like the way it's off to theside and like, yeah, it just
looks so good. I love it. Like that. But so this episode
(06:41):
was directed or it was. Yeah, it was written by Scott Temple and
Channing Powell, and it was veryobviously written by Scott Gimple stole the words
from my Bike. I was awaitingsat this was so obviously. I didn't
I didn't know who wrote it goinginto it, and then I knew while
I was watching it that it wasGotcha and is directed by Michael Satuzinus.
(07:11):
And uh, we we like welike Michael Satursinus, right, oh,
yeah, we love him. Yeah. I interviewed him for on did Walking
Really really cool? Guy? Ilove awesome, awesome. Maybe maybe maybe
they can get him to do somedirecting on on Book of Carol. Well
(07:32):
maybe, he did say when whenI interviewed him, I did ask him
if there was anything he hadn't donewith the in the work Walking Day universe
that he wanted to do, andhe did say a love story. So
he's done that now with Rick andmaschan So yeah, you never know,
you might go across. Yeah, yeah, it's you know, a lot
(07:53):
of people mentioned there were a lotof complaints about how, like, you
know, CRM, people were equatingthem to the Reapers because it's like Yeah,
they were supposed to be such athreat and then they were so easily
taken down. But you know, some of the rashers on Twitter, I
(08:16):
saw a lot of rashowers on Twittermaking comments that that made a good point
that this wasn't really supposed to beabout the CRM. It was supposed to
be more of a love story.Yeah, so that makes sense, but
I still wish like the CRM isjust such. They shouldn't have made it
such a massive exactly. Yeah, the problem is is exactly what I said
(08:39):
on the live stream last night. It was two separate visions of what this
show should be. Did I hadthis vision of this epic love story and
she said she sold it to Gimpolandand under Link and know of what that
was what was going to be.Gimple clearly had this idea of the CRM
and the big thing, and youknow it was originally going to be three
(09:01):
movies, which you could imagine beingthis three movie like action arc, big
military action stuff. And those twoversions didn't mesh together very well. So
and so Deny's version worked perfectly andwas executed brilliantly, but Scott Gimble's was
(09:26):
not. It felt like it feltlike he thought he was going on to
something else, and then in seasonsix, episode six, they told him,
no, that's not going to happen, so they just to quickly wrap
it up. Yeah, yeah, and now and now Major General bial Is
is on an island. Yeah, smoke monster someplace coming after him. Yes,
(09:54):
because he's now on an island andwith a bunch of other people and
yeah, and a smoked posture.Though I don't know, like, should
he be in purgatory though he's donesome pretty bad things. He should probably
tell tell yeah exactly, He's like, yeah, I killed the whole thing
(10:18):
Pennsylvania. That's fine. No,I can't sound funny. I can't even
compare the two characters because John Lockewas so John Locke was like the total
opposite appeal. Oh yeah, completelyyeah. John Locke was like the little
engine that could you know. Yeah, but uh yeah, let's why don't
(10:46):
we just go ahead and get intoit? Yep? Okay, So I'm
starting off today, and we startoff with a Rick voiceover where he says
he he remembers everything now, heremembers who, the who, the where,
and who they are now, andwe hear sound clips of the other
characters that have brought them to wherethey are for saying, you know what
(11:11):
he'd hope for jadis people are resourceand of course fantastic not still not over
his death. I'd like no andBeale and Thorn, all these characters.
While we are seeing Rick and Machoneenjoying the honeymoon in the way a couple,
(11:31):
and where is Rick getting all this? Johnny Walker black Yeah, sponsored
by Johnny Walker Black. Yeah.Nice close ups of a bottle there,
and we and then Rick also wesee them when the bed that Rick puts
(11:54):
the wedding ring on ma Shone's finger, that Jade is left or Gabriel left
and somebody random left in the woods. So you know it was fate,
that was what it was. Itwas fate, but you know it was
just found there and they mis gianther tiny her slender fingers perfectly. Yeah.
(12:22):
It was huge, wasn't it.I thought it was going to be
like a proper you know, likeMaggie's, but no, it was.
It was massive. Yes, Sowe have Michean saying, you know,
it's it's simple. We go in, we get the briefing, and then
we go home together. But ofcourse you know it's never that simple.
(12:43):
We see Rick going back to theCRM, hands up obviously, and he's
telling them what happened, and hehe meets Thorn, who's obviously delighted to
see that he's still alive, andhe says Dana saved his life by throwing
him out of the helicopter, whichis true always, like you know,
(13:07):
hid to lie in the middle oftruth is the best thing to do.
And Thorn is saying, you know, there's a reason you've left done.
Yes, sorry about that. Ihad some sound issues really quick. Okay,
we're good. Sorry, okay, yes, so Thorn, Thorn says,
(13:28):
you know there's a reason you're alive, and I'm alive because Rick has
said we should be we're carrying onhis work. But Thorn's like, no,
we're not. Then she realized shethinks that Fur was wrong, and
Rick's like, well, show methe other way then, and so she's
(13:50):
delighted that he is going to finallyget the eschel On briefing and reach his
the same level as as she is. The Meanwhile, we see Shone disguised
as a as a CRAM officer withher mask on to high Let's just say
(14:11):
this, Deny does a whole lotof eye acting in this episode. Yeah,
really does. Yeah, there's likeso much it's all we can see
is her eyes. And she's gotno dialogue. It's amazing in that.
Yeah, she's coming to sneak intothe Cram building. She's going around the
back. She uses a walker ascover with which withdraws, pulls the guard
(14:39):
out, who goes looking for tocheck the perimeter, and she sneaks,
climbs a tree and is up ontop of the building. And then that
was very like what happened there? She just like and she immediately goes to
Jadis's room, which was I reallyliked seeing a think g Star last night
(15:01):
said this, it was really goodto see Jesus's room and see all her
art. And there was a drawingof Gabriel there, and Michau is wrecking
the place looking for the dossier andCarol. Oh, I didn't know it
was Carol. Carol, No,Carol was a drawing of Carol. And
(15:26):
I'm I'm going to see somebody postedit. Someone posted it yesterday on Twitter.
I'm going to try to find itfor you while you're talking and yeah,
and someone said it was someone saidno, that was Tammyel. That's
Tammyel. But no, it lookedexactly like Carol exactly. I wasn't sure
(15:50):
if there was like one big one. I thought it's that Megan or I
wasn't sure, but it looks likethere was one that looked like Enid too.
Yeah. Yeah, so it wasreally nice to see, you know,
she remembered everybody from Alexandria and thatshe that on part of her that
(16:10):
we know still existed and came outat the end. But Micheon is struggling
to find where she's left the dossier. Meanwhile, Bill is out by the
fence in the woods killing walkers andRick comes. Thorn takes Rick Jim,
and Bale says, you know, before a big operation, he likes to
spend the day alone, and becausehe had never done the time that people
(16:37):
like Rick had done killing walkers atthe wall, he likes to come and
do this. So he chats tohe chats to Wreck and he's saying,
you know, now you're time, this is your time. I want you
to you know, we're going tospend some time together and maybe you can
carry some of the burden that Icarry. Another word, he's going to
get the Eshelong briefing Mi Seon inJadis's room a great callback to clear.
(17:04):
She finds the dossier is a catsculptor upends. But I was like,
I'm going to watch Mi Sean stickher hand up of cat's butt. But
no, she used, like,Toms, wait, is that that?
I think? Okay? Because Iremember when after Rick defeated Winslow. Yeah,
(17:33):
I was really hoping that that Jadaswould make herself another Winslow in this
After after Rick defeated Winslow, hetook he took the cat that she had,
That's right, But then didn't shetake it back at one point I
don't remember she did. I thinkit might be the same cat. Yeah,
(17:55):
it could be, or she createdanother version, you know, if
she didn't take it with because theywere in the helicopter, I don't know,
But if not, it's it definitelyis it's this line of cat sculptures
that goes all the way through TheWalking Dead. Yes. So Bill and
(18:15):
Rick are in Beale's office and Billtells Rick to take off his prosthetic and
put it in the in the middleof the table, and he starts talking
monologuing to Rick, and he tellshim about, you know, everybody has
to make sacrifices to get where toget where they are, and to keep
(18:40):
other people alive, and he asksRick, what was the worst thing you've
ever done? And this is thewhen we start getting the little flash montages
through the show of showing sort ofwhat Rick and the show have gone through
to get where they are. Andthe first one we see Rick some of
Rick's good kills, and he letsbe all know about the lovely incident with
(19:06):
the Scavengers and he how, oh, oh, sorry, my computer just
went off there. I don't knowwhat happened. I didn't even notice anything.
My screen went completely black. ButI'm here, and so he,
you know, says I killed someonewith my teeth. And I never even
(19:27):
thought about it this way. Ionly ever thought of it as just it's
something very raw and visceral that hedid. But he was like, the
way they do, the way thewalker's do, And I was like,
oh, I never even thought ofthat. He was like, yeah,
become a walker and in a waywhich you know fits with this whole we
(19:47):
are the walking dead, And yeah, I thought that was very clever.
And Bille puts his magnificent sword onthe table between them as well, and
we get a flash of Rick andMacheon talking about through Throughout these scenes,
we get flashed back to the Rickand Sewan in there wherever they were having
(20:10):
their honeymoon, talking about what's goingto happen, and Rick says, he's
telling me, showing how much hemissed her, and she's like, I
know, and he says, arewe crazy? Yeah? Yeah, certifiable,
but this is what they have todo. And Rick Belle tells Rick
about his life, how he gotthere, that he had an abusive father,
(20:33):
so he'd left home and he'd endedup in a v f W halt.
Now I'm British. I don't knowwhat that is. I'm sure it's
veterans or oh yeah, it's Ican't remember it's It's funny because VFW halls
are all over the US. Butit's funny because I can't remember exactly what
it stands for veteran. I'm assumingit's like Veterans Foundation. Let me look
(21:02):
it up. It's terrible that Idon't know that, like, because oh,
Veterans of Foreign Wars that's what it's. Oh right, okay, there
we go. Yeah, well thatmakes sense. I assume it was something
like that, but I didn't knowexactly Jamie. But he says, this
is he made a new family there. The people there were came his family,
(21:23):
and you know, he got intothe military. And through this,
we're cutting to Mashone going through theCRM building in disguise, and there's a
soldier with a cart talking walking throughand a little bunny rabbit falls off at
not an actual one, but acuddly toy, and Mashone picks up and
(21:45):
is having a realization about how kidsrelate to this, so she follows that
the person and ends up in abriefing room where there is a conveniently a
briefing telling everybody what do you dowith children? And it it becomes clear
that the abduct children from these thecity and then from settlements, children that
(22:11):
they think are strong and gifted,so that they can create a better future
by keeping them and killing the restof their family, kind of like rabbit.
Yeah, a bunny rabbit suddenly becamereally really dark. Yes, it
was very sinister, wasn't Wasn't ita bunny rabbit that the little girl?
Oh no, whi it was ateddy bear, wasn't it that she she
(22:33):
picked up. Yeah, but Imean it's the same kind of thing,
you know, it harkens to badstuff, and like Rick, like Darryl
finding Sophia's doll, never find asoft toy on its own in the Walking
Dead universe. And they were collectingcomfort items for like, you know,
for when they traumatize these kids.Yeah. I really liked that they talked
(22:56):
through I thought this this was theonly bit of like the gimpal Eyes script
and I was like, oh,quit like this. How they're going into
detail about what you do with thesekids and how you talk to them to
make sure they're to keep their levelsof trauma down. And you never say
to them it will be okay, but you can see to them they will
be okay. Which I thought thatwas a good bit of interesting writing.
(23:18):
But meanwhile, Beale and Rick arestill having their little conversation and Rick bal
tells Rick that he basically sacrificed hishometown because he realized it was for the
greater good. They have to therewas these masses of walkers, so he
(23:38):
took his troops out in the deadof night, left everybody else and everybody
in the city, including is newfoundfamily to the mercy of the Walkers,
because that's what you've got to do. And then there's all this talk of
it's been going on since the firstepisode about you have to burn things to
bring things back, and be allstart talking about the sort that kills is
(24:00):
also the sword that brings life. You have to kill people in order to
help other people live. And obviouslywe've seen that over and over again in
The Walking Dead, and even youknow when Reck and Cole attacked the outpost
that start really started the war withVegan, they killed people so that they
could live. So it's a bitof a it's a moral maze because we
(24:26):
know they all have done it,and our heroes have done it and have
done it for good reason. Buthere is Bill saying it's in a really
dark way, in a really calculatedway, that it's about numbers, basically,
because he says, he reveals thathumanity only has fourteen years left before
the Walkers, you know, ournumber them. And I was like,
(24:49):
how does that work? Because itmakes no sense to me because surely as
the Walkers get older, they're goingto ty and disintegree and fall apart,
so they are less of a threatand you're not having people die in this
millions as you did back then,so surely their numbers will go down and
(25:14):
humans will start, you know,thriving again. I didn't. I didn't.
I was like your mathematics staticians,Sorry, statuticians are wrong. But
you know what what I just realizedthough, I swear to got like,
Okay, do you remember in DaryldDixon when Darryl first met Oh my god,
(25:40):
why am I drawing a blank onthe kid's name. Yeah, when
Darryl first met Laurent and he wastelling him about like about you know,
spitting out all these numbers, aboutlike how long it would take to oh,
(26:00):
yes, yeah, it's rare.Didn't he say something about fourteen years
to you? Like I feel likehe might have said something like it would
take fourteen years to get up tosut to like to bring the population back
to this number. I don't know, and it done. It's so funny
(26:22):
because you you froze up right now, and you froze up, you froze
up, pursing your lips. Funny, you're just about to say something.
You're back now. But yeah,I feel like he said something about fourteen
years. I don't know, Idon't know. I think you're right.
He was talking. Wasn't he talkingabout the middle like get back to like
(26:47):
it would take wasn't it generations?Fourteen generations to get back to? Maybe
that was something like that. Yeah, remember, but yeah, that's show.
Ermugs, I gotta watch season oneand that again. All right,
you're back. I'm back. Let'shope this is the deal not a repeat
(27:10):
of last last Monday. It's soannoying. It's just I have no idea
what's going on. I had noproblem at night when you're streaming in the
middle of the night. We wereabsolutely fine. Yes. So the bill
is talking about, you know, the things they have to do as as
a crem and they're doing it totry and beat the numbers. They're trying
(27:32):
to make sure that their people, that their city survives. And Michean leaves
the the briefing and she walks outthe building and it's like, no,
she's just she's she's so horrified. She's like going to walk away, but
(27:53):
she stops herself and she does goback. And Rick had said, if
you need me, if something inthe plan changes, press the walkie talkie,
So she does that and Rick turnsit off and he says, to
be a lot was just thorn. She you know, she's gone through this
briefing and we thought be valuable tomeet up and talk. And Bill says
(28:17):
to him, have you who isthe person you are closest to that you've
lost, and then we get thereally sad caral montage, which was like
really moving, but Rick says,my son, and Bill says, you
know people you love. If youdo this, you can bring in whoever
you want. You can bring inyour people, your family. That's how
(28:41):
much I trust you. And that'sthe risk I'm going to take. And
then Beale says to Rick, swearon the sword. And Rick flashes back
to oh for saying swear on thesword, but don't don't become part of
it. And Beale sees that Rickhis hands are taking and immediately know something
(29:06):
is wrong and he's screams no andis about shoot Rick. Rick throws a
knife at him and so yeah,Rick, ricitects Bale and and they're fighting
and oh, you're back, butso he stabs him through the hand,
(29:30):
and this is when I really knewit was that Gimbal had written this episode.
Yeah, can he just a bunchof gobbledy cook to him, that
makes no sense, and like,I didn't lose my son, I lost
(29:55):
myself. It was just it wasall ridicul And then he finishes it off
by saying, we're not dead, you are and stabs him in the heart
and uh. He then you know, covered in and Feel's blood radios Thorn
and tells her that Biel went tothe woods to be alone and that he'll
(30:19):
meet up with her later because Bealealready gave him something to do. And
so he stuffs Feel's body in oneof those weeled containers and those weeled plastic
containers and gets in the elevator.Another soldier enters and there's there's blood starting
(30:41):
to leak from the bottom of thecontainer, and just as they get to
the soldier's floor, the soldier happensto look down and see the blood,
and Rick immediately attacks him. It'sa brutal fight. Rick should have been
knocked out. I mean, yeah, it should have, considering how many
times he got his head smashed intothe floor. But you know, he
(31:03):
basically bashes the guy's head in anduh, and it's just it's a bloody
fight. And then the all there, the olevair opens and it's it's shown
and and it's just like it's sofunny, how casual it is. She's
(31:23):
like, she's like, we can't. She's like, we need this stuff.
Like she tells him what she sawabout Portland and how they're planning to
kill most of the kids even anduh, she's like, we we have
to stop them because we can.She looks at the pantater She's like,
is this yours? Just like what'sin it? That's just a funny exchange.
(31:52):
So then they're so then they're backin I think they're they're in They're
in Rick's apartment, right, yeah, and she's building a uh she's building
a bomb with knowledge that she pickedup from Nat and uh. Rick is
like, this is why I startedgetting really confused because Rick is like Rick
(32:15):
is telling her, he's just he'supset about the time he missed with his
kids and he just wants to goback. And I'm like, what what
what? Okay? You just youwant us out to see her. You
just heard about the horrible things they'replanning on doing, and and suddenly and
like your kids are probably gonna die, you go back right now, Like
(32:39):
suddenly you want to go back. What It's just I was very confused.
Yeah, I signed this firm, sure, And she was like nope,
yeah, we're doing this. Yes, yeah, so you know micheone Micheon
gets him back on track. Butoh hey, this was something else that
(33:00):
confused me. M We then seeThorn after they leave his room and everything.
We see Thorn go go into hisapartment and she sees his prosthetic hand
linger by the window. Why wouldhe lead that? Yeah? This really
really confused me, because like, you're about to go and do something really
(33:22):
technical and difficult, why would youleave your your hand I don't I realize
it's meant to be a symbol ofyou know, that was a symbol of
the CRM and what they did tohim and his oppression and stuff. But
I'm like, he would list bepractical. Yeah, we just saw him
(33:43):
batter a guy's helmet with it.I mean it's it's useful, Yeah,
exactly. It's like it's like whenDaryl and Beth burnt down their shock and
still I was like, why aren'tyou burning down perfectly good house even if
you don't want it, somebody elsecan use it. Yeah, it's irresponsible.
(34:04):
I don't understand why why he leftthat behind. It was so weird
it was. But you know theother thing I don't know, Well yeah,
yeah, it just doesn't make sense. But h we see them setting
up the bomb in a tent behindwhere all the military is gathering, and
(34:31):
uh, because if you're gathering allof your big you know, all your
most important people together, you wantedto be in front of a tape full
of canisels of cluding gas. Itjust makes sense. Yeah, and you
know what, I have to backtracka second because I missed one part.
So you know, in in typicaltip that you know, this happens in
(34:53):
every TV show where a character isjust a little too smart for realism.
You know, Thorn goes into thewoods because Rick told Thorn that Beale went
into the woods to be alone. And so she goes into the woods and
goes to the fence where Bil likehe must go there a lot to walkers
(35:16):
to blost team, and she goesover there and he's not there, and
she she's like, what are youup to? Grimes? And you know,
so she's she's like, it's it'sthat typical TV unrealistic unrealistic intelligence.
Yeah, but so yeah, they'rethey're in the tent and they're they're setting
(35:43):
up the bomb. Thorn is,you know, still in Rick's room,
and she looks out and sees thisgathering and just decides that something's up.
Yeah, and and you see herlike, you know, you see her
(36:05):
her like all the stuff that she'sthinking about. She somehow like just then
figures out that was shown is Rick'swife. Yes, yeah, I would
love to know this character's thought processbecause I mean, she's she's definitely a
little unrealistically intelligent. Yeah, butuh so they're setting up Rick. This
(36:36):
was this was cute. Rick waslike I forgot I got you something.
And the hands are feel stored anduh they hook up bal and the other
dead soldier to the explosives. Sothe bomb is there. Basically it's going
to be triggered when they walk outof the tent. And you know,
(37:01):
Bill is doing as as uh asas you guys pointed out last night,
doing his thriller walk. That waspretty funny. But uh so they escaped
the tent and they run immediate theyimmediately run into Thorn. She holds them
(37:25):
at gun point and tells them togo back inside and undo whatever it is
they did. I was a littlenervous at this point because of some of
the spoilers that were going around, like people were saying Rick dies, like
the one guy that was like poshingspoilers everywhere, none of them which were
(37:46):
correct, And you know, hesaid Rick dies and he made some comment
about how Thorn doesn't miss and Iwas like, oh shit, I really
hope that doesn't happen. But shetells him to go back inside and do
whatever it is they did, andwhen she finds Bill, they're going to
(38:06):
regret this. So they approached thetent and just then Feel and the other
soldier come out. How well didthey rip open this water tank? Was
the sword sord ripped open the watertank? I mean, what was this
(38:30):
water tank made out of? Wasit inflatable? I mean it was that
was that was I had to laughbecause I just what it was like they
just slashed it was like micheone justlike took the sword and just slashed it
(38:51):
like it was like like it wasmade of cardboard, and opened the water
tank and grabbed the grabbed its harpthat was there and pulled it over them
so that you know, they wouldbe soaking wet in the water, and
you know that they wouldn't like theexplosion wouldn't get to them somehow. Yeah,
(39:15):
that a little over the top. This is minute to the fridge point,
if you, if you, ifyou know the reference from Indiana Jones
and the Crystal Skulle where he survivesa nuclear explosion by getting inside the fridge.
This this moment for me, like, there is a massive explosion,
(39:37):
we see it from the you know, from Rick's window. It flattens all.
It was really really unrealistic. Nonethat nobody should have survived, Rick,
Michelle Thorn, No one should havesurvived because they run sideways from the
tent. Yeah. Yeah, andthey had to think fast to do.
(40:00):
Like, but so they Thorn's gota gas mask, and there's another there's
another dude with a gas mask. And I think it was a live soldier,
right, yes, Bobby, I'mnot sure. It's hard to say.
(40:22):
I'm just like you. There wasa lot of walkers walking. No,
I think it was walkers from theexplosion. I think it was all
walkers. Okay, gotcha. Soyeah, one of the why did there
why was there a walker wearing agas mask? He'd planned a hat,
(40:43):
so bizarre and uh, like,I see, I can understand Thorn having
one on her. Yeah, butyeah, there was apparently a walker just
you know, landing ahead, andso they decide to rush them and try
(41:07):
to you know, and try toget the masks. Rick gets completely swarmed
by walkers. I really thought hewas dead. Yeah, And it's interesting
because, like, you know, the joke in the main show is always
like they would put Rick in situationswhere he thought he was going to die,
but obviously like you knew, hewasn't. Yeah, but this was
(41:30):
the first time where I thought,oh my god, he might die,
like we didn't know. I reallyI really thought he was going to die.
And Micheone sneaks up on Thorn, gets the jump on her, and
(41:52):
they had this really weird exchange.Thorn says in a dead world, love
is dead, and and shown respondswith love doesn't die, and and she
essentially kills her. Then we getto the most ridiculous part of the episode
(42:14):
in my opinion. Yeah, Rickpulls the grenade. Huge walker explosion.
There are walkers clinging to him thatare blown to bits. He's fine,
he absolutely fine, just you know, oh, in one piece they did
(42:39):
it with the Reapers as well whenthey were you know that episode in season
ten when they when they first encounteredthem in the weird and the guy like
pulls the grenade to sacrifice himself andthey're all like feet from him, but
they're all fine. They just goes. I mean he literally had a walker
on him that had its lower halfblown off. Yeah, and he was
(43:07):
fine, Like I knew I Ioh my god. Wow. So anyway,
it did. It did remind mea little of a you know it,
It did remind me. It wasanother moment that reminded me of you
(43:27):
know, the scene and uh andsay yes when when you know micheone thought
he was dead when they were inthose fair grounds, so they uh,
now, you know what, Idon't know, I'm curious as to how
many people might have thought of this. But when they when she rushed to
(43:49):
him and and they embraced, likewhen they were both alive. For some
reason, the first thing that Ithought about was Rick and Carl at the
prison. Oh yeah, yeah, when you know, when they found each
other after the attack, Like, there were a couple of moments like during
(44:12):
one of the fights. I wasexpecting it was I think it was during
the fight with the soldier. Iwas totally expecting Michauone to like come in
and save Rick because that was liketotally giving me Rick and Governor vibes.
Yeah, there were, like, there were a few moments in this episode
that just made me that just kindof reminded me of that of that episode
(44:34):
for some reason, too far gone. Yeah, yeah, but uh so
then we hear a broadcast announcement thatemergency oversight had been implemented. Citizens are
free to come and go as theyplease. They say that, they make
(44:55):
a mention of like the lower ranksthe military were no implicated in the atrocities
committed by the by the elite military, and uh they're like they're even helping
other communities. And I didn't noticethis until I actually didn't. I don't
(45:20):
know why I didn't notice this untilafter our after show last night when I
rewatched it to do my notes. This is the first time I noticed it.
Rick and Micheue were in the helicopterand Brick's hands were shaking. Yeah,
so like he clearly was really nervousabout seeing the kids. Yeah,
(45:40):
yeah, that was one aspect Ithought it was good. Yeah, I
liked that too. I really likedthat a lot. And you see her,
Uh she reaches Judith on Milwaukie,uh and their their helicopter lands and
(46:06):
uh they get out and the kidsare running out from the woods into the
clearing and they just they jump ontothe shone and uh, it's like it
was it was. It was areally cute moment. And like I just
I always love you know, I'vesaid this before, like I can't help
(46:30):
but smile so big whenever I seeDeny agree or smile, because she just
has one of those infectious smiles. You know, I totally agree. And
they jump into p Shoan's arms andthey're you know, they're all crying,
and Rickage poor Rick is just likehanging back because I mean he's like even
(46:51):
to June At he's kind of astranger. Yeah yeah, because yeah,
she's like she was like a toddlerthree or something, you know, between
two and three he died, sothat yeah, yeah, yeah. And
then finally Judith, Judith comes upand gives him a hug and she's cleatly
(47:14):
Presling is what Katie Presley is,Like Kaylee Presley Fleming is what like seventeen
how or so I'm just going tosay, yeah, sixteen seventeen, I
think, ye, God, shelooks really young for her age though,
yeah, yeah she is. Sheis believable to be about thirteen. Yeah,
yeah for sure. But yeah, she comes over and gives, uh,
(47:35):
gives Rick a big hug. Andthen rj comes up and and uh
says, you're you're the brave man. And and he's got the hat on,
which means he's gonna get shot soon. Take that hat off, r
Jade's bad luck. Yeah, anddon't leave the house, stay in the
(47:55):
high don't leave the house, anddon't wear the at Nope, and uh,
he says, you're you're the braveman, and he says I am.
Rick says, I am, butbut maybe you can call me Dad,
And all four of them hug.And then we see the helicopters above,
(48:16):
the CRM helicopters, and they're getready to drop off supplies, probably
likely to Alexandria because they probably followedRick and shown because you know, I'm
sure he told them that like theycould use supplies or whatever, and and
you know, and and they probablylike the all of CRM probably like is
(48:37):
worshiping the two of them right nowanyway, So they're probably like, you
know, whatever you want. Yeah, so like so that's what I'm assuming
was happening. They were just followingRick and Shown's helicopter to drop off supplies
it Alexandria. The lines of dialoguein that reunion were gives owe as a
(48:59):
gimpal script because Judas says to toRick, I knew you were still out
there. I just never wanted youto feel all alone. That's a non
secretar that makes no sense. Whatdoes that mean? But you know,
it's such a gimble line. It'stold and then and then and Rick says,
(49:20):
I thought I was all alone.Then I realized I wasn't. And
it's like it's this huge revelation. It's saying nothing, all these words which
are completely thingless. Why did didI write the script for that scene?
Thank you very much? Yeah,God Gimble like the man who wrote Clearer
(49:43):
in the Grove. Yeah, someof the best episodes, Too Far Gone
another great episode. Like the guywrote some of the best episodes ever.
And just I don't know, man, I don't know what's happened to you
just write such vagities and nobody talksclearly and just says these lines, which
(50:09):
sounded oppressive until you actually we didn'trealize they're completely pointless and meaningless. And
I'm like, no, yeah,it's yeah, I don't get it.
I mean he was just he wassuch a genius of a writer at one
point. Yeah, and then justI don't know what happened. No,
(50:34):
well was a gainst. No forsure. So uh Ali the woman,
uh women, Ali on Twitter isthe savior of the day. She responded
(50:55):
to I posted something on Twitter whilewe were recording, and she came to
see if anybody had that that screengrab. Oh, exit, well done.
Yes, so thank you so much, Ellie. I'm gonna bring this
up right now. I mean it, sure as hell. It looks like
Carol. I'm excited. Oh yes, doesn't it? Yeah it does.
(51:23):
It actually looks like Melissa, youknow in some of the film, like
when she was in Dawson's Creek. That's what Melissa looked like in Dawson's Creek.
But yeah, yeah, here tiedback like that. Yeah definitely,
yeah, yeah, that that totallylooks like Carrol. And that does look
like Enid right there too. Yes, that definitely looks like yeah for sure,
(51:45):
who is that? Yeah, Idon't recognize that person flat top.
Yeah, I wonder maybe they putlike some of the crew in as well,
you know, as drawings of thecrew was good. It's a little
like Easter egg for them. Yeah, I'm wondering. Yeah, it could
(52:07):
have been one of her people.Yeah, but yeah, that definitely looks
like Carol, Yeah, without adoubt. I mean it it it looks
more like Melissa McBride because it lookslike she's wearing some kind of fancy necklace.
(52:28):
And we know, we know,uh, we know Melissa loves her
fancy like she loves her accessories,Yes for sure. But yes, thank
you so much, Allie. Thatwas you saved the day there. But
uh so, I know we alreadytalked about this last night, but you
(52:52):
know, just for anybody who didn'tsee her after party. So who is
your MVP? Yeah? Mine wasMichean because she took the biggest risk going
back into the CRM. You know, Rick was meant to be there,
he could walk about freely. Sheevery second she was terrified of being uncovered.
(53:12):
And as we say, she dida lot of eye acting through her
mask. And I think also becauseof that moment you brought up where Rick
is like let's just go home thekids, and Chaon's like, no,
we have to do this. Youknow, this is this is what we
were born for and we have todo it. So she kept Rick on
track and she and let's face it, she's the MVP of the season because
(53:36):
she brought Rick back and and youknow, got through to him and basically
was the architect of all of this. So yeah, she's my MVP.
What about you? Oh yeah, she is, without a doubt the MVP
of the season. Yeah, Imean undoubtedly. I mean she basically saved
the world. Yeah, saves theworld and then goes home for breakfast.
(54:00):
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, she saved the world and she looked
she looks hat doing it. Yeah. And uh, but I am going
to give the MVP of the episodeto nat Yay because yeah, even though
he's no longer with us, hetaught Micheon how to make bombs. Yeah
(54:24):
exactly, she passed on to Regodknowledge. Yes, you know, liked
her in the in the post apocalypseworld is a vague tool to have.
Yes, who's your l VP.I'm going to say Bill because, uh,
(54:47):
because of his monologue. Anybody whodoes a gimpull monologue is an l
VP. No, I think theform I can kind of. I feel
bad for Thorn because she it waslike she she bought into something and then
she she was sort of brainwashed byit, Whereas I think Beale was more
(55:10):
you know, he truly believed it. He lived it from the very start,
and he was a eugenist. Hebelieved that, you know, kill
the week to let the strong survive. So, you know, for being
a bit nazishue, it's Bill,Yeah, Yeah, I mean I I
want to give it to Thorn becauseyou know, Bill was always Bill,
(55:35):
yeah, whereas Thorn was okafor hadother ideas for Thorn, yeah, and
Thorn just completely went to the otherside. Yeah, but I'm gonna so
that's my serious answer Thorn. ButI'm gonna give it. I'm gonna give
(55:59):
it to you. Uh feels bodyfor for getting messy in the elevator,
Yeah, reeling things, boy kingblood everywhere. Yes, I mean the
last night. You can't see itreally on this On this I'm waitings ear
rings because you know I'm an eobviously there you go. Yeah, yeah,
(56:22):
we know I'm an a. UnfortunatelyI'm not really an EM. I'm
totally a B. I'd be like, Okay, I'll do whatever you say.
I'm an A and I don't wantto be an a. Like I'm
going through some a ship right nowthat I'm not really happy about, you
know, having to expose people andit's not it's not fun. It's not
(56:45):
fun, but it's something I gottado. Yeah, Like I'm literally in
therapy right now because I because ofmy my need to do this and it
sucks the but a question from theRainbow Banana. Thorn was jealous of Micheone.
(57:07):
I don't think she was in thesense of romantic jealousy, but I
think she was jealous that Micheone hadthis ability to reach Rick and Thorn thought
she had a connection with Rick anddidn't. But I don't think it was
romantic in any way. I thinkit was just she thought they were the
same kind of people. She thoughthe was on the same way, way
(57:30):
for length as her, and thenit turns out he wasn't. So yeah,
you know, there were a coupleof moments when there were a couple
of moments between Rick and Thorne whereI thought like maybe she had a thing
for him, or like or maybeeven they got drunk and hooked up at
some point like to say that Iknow. No, I don't think he
(57:50):
was ever like involved with her.No, you know, Like I just
I think if anything happened between them, it was like some drunken hook up
or whatever when he was like tryingto forget about Misha. But I I
don't think. I don't think that'sthe case. There was, it was
very much. I just I justthink they were close confidants. Yeah.
(58:15):
It's it's a military thing, isn'tit when you have like your you know,
you're close your brothers and sisters ofyour that are in the military with
you, and you formed this bondand they because they both were picked out
by to do his plan and youknow, they spent this time together.
I think that's that connected them, and they were really connected and that and
(58:36):
I think that Thorn was just disappointedthat it wasn't the connection she thought it
was because he didn't he didn't seethings the way she saw things. So
I think that was she would beupset and think, oh, Mason's changed
his mind, rather than she's havingsex with him. Yeah, that's what
I think. Like I think shesaw Sewan. I think she just saw
(58:59):
shown as a like yeah, yes, that's he was. Miss Shone was
pulling him away from where she wantedhim to be exactly. Yeah, that's
exactly it. Yeah, yeah, and and yeah no, I don't think
that he would have ever cheated, you know, cheated on the shown,
but we saw him basically trying tokill his old self. Yes, forget
(59:21):
about everything, which is why Isaid, like, you know, maybe
they could have like drunkenly hooked upor something because he thought his old life
was over and there was no nohope. I don't think he could ever
like get actually get involved with anotherwoman. There's no way, there's no
way. But uh but yeah,no, I don't think they I don't
actually think they hooked up or anythinglike that. But a couple of days
(59:47):
ago, the walking Dead account onTwitter posted what was in the echelon briefing?
Wrong answers only, what what wouldyou What are some things that you
would would hope would have would havebeen some I mean joking jokingly, what
are somethings that you would have hopedwould be in the achelon briefing? The
(01:00:12):
recipe for Starbucks cookies. I thinkthat would have been in the echelon briefing.
And you know, and McDonald's specialsauce. I think they would the
two stories about that, because youknow, after the apocalypse, I'm still
one with McDonald's. They better anapocalypse version of McDonald's. Yes, yeah,
(01:00:34):
yeah, agreed, I would sayall of I would say Eastman's cheese
recipes. Oh, yes, ofcourse, yes, Eastman and his and
his goats cheese dejure. Yes,even the one that he said was was
got awful. I know what wasin the Echelon briefing. What the significance
(01:00:58):
of the Jasper stone is that I'llpicked up in season four? I will
never let not go my gosh,I uh, I think something else that
was in the Achelon briefing Connie's backstory, acalypse, Connie's backstory, all of
(01:01:30):
the Rick, the Rick Grimes dadjokes, every single one that ever existed.
Yeah? What else? Mh Carol'sU, Carol's beaten acorn cookie recipe?
Yes, yeah, yeah, apicture of pictures of Maggie running over
(01:01:59):
her boyfriend's car with the tractor.Oh yes, And also what to happen
if you have a pregnancy the lastfour years? Yes, that's too ye,
Lance Lance Hornsby's Lance Hornsby's uh uhthree apocalypse dating profile. Yeah,
(01:02:34):
along with all of his Tinder matches. That's a good one. What else,
uh m hmm, I'm trying tothink. Yeah, yeah, I
think I think that's about it.Instructions from a z geel and and and
(01:03:02):
how to properly dispose of elephant poop. Yeah, one hundred and one uses
for bird guano. Yes, yeah, yeah, that's you. How you
can keep petrol and diesel going forfourteen years? Yeah, yeah, to
(01:03:29):
everlasting petrol gas, as you guyscall it. Walter White's Blue Moth.
Oh yeah, yeah, it's justa recipe book, yeah, Mars the
(01:03:50):
students on the cover. Yes,yeah, it's just a recipe book with
all kinds of stuff, from Carol'sbeaten acorn cookies to will to Whites blue
mouths yeah, which, which, for those of you don't know, made
an appearance in The Walking Dead inseason two. Yeah. Yeah. Oh,
(01:04:17):
speaking of ezek Kill, I justwanted to say I kind of thought
they could have had Ezekil standing inthe field behind the kids, you know,
because that would have been nice toshow he was there, because obviously
they if they put Carol in it, in any way it ties it to
a specific timeline. But if theyjust had a Zeke kill there, that
would have been nice. That wouldhave been nice. Yeah, like yeah,
(01:04:40):
either yeah, I was gonna say, like either Ezekiel or Jerry because
Jerry could even be watching the kidsbecause he has kids, so they might
have taken over watching the kids,or Gabriel because he was already in the
season. They could have had Gabriel, yeah, just like walking the kids
out to the field. So yeah, yeah, that wouldn't Yeah, it
would have been nice. Why didn'tthey have that. That's kind of a
(01:05:02):
bummer that. Yeah, they couldhave easily had Gabriel. Yeah, because
they could have just like they couldhave filmed they could have filmed those things
together, like the same day orwhatever. Yeah, exactly. I mean,
and they didn't even have to filmhim with the kids, because they
could have just you could have justcut him standing at their do the field
sort of smiling benignly at them. You know, they didn't, you know,
if he wasn't free to film withthe kids, that still would have
(01:05:26):
worked. Yeah, yeah, forsure. Well, so we know that
the phone call between Carolyn Daryl andDaryld Dixon clearly was not what what we
were fearing that Rick Ramchone came backand one of them was dead. Yes,
(01:05:46):
but you know, I'm us orthat it was Jesus because I thought
maybe, you know, when whenwe reached the when we point through this
season, I thought Judas had comeback and done something awful. And that
was because I really did think thiswas going to end on a cliffhanger.
Oh again, you were doing sogood. So the last thing that we
(01:06:13):
heard you say was we thought thiswas gonna end on a cliffhanger. So
you can pick up from there whenwhen you unfreeze, So that's appropriate.
Okay, so you thought we weregonna end on a cliffhanger, preeze.
(01:06:33):
Yeah, you know, to adegree like that, they would have a
happy ending of sorts, but theywould still be the CRM hanging over them.
So the fact that didn't you know, I don't I have no idea
what the story is with Carol's phonecall because well radio call, because she
sounded really upset and scared or youknow, distress anyway, so I have
(01:06:58):
no idea what's going on? Yeah, yeah, for sure, Yeah,
and I yeah, yeah, Idon't know. It's very strange Uh yeah,
(01:07:20):
am Karra. So the new thenext spin off, well it's not
the new spinoff but Book of Carol. These and two starts in the summer,
but we don't know when yet. They're just saying summer so far.
They they haven't said when in thesummer. But Don and I are definitely
(01:07:41):
going to put out We're gonna doyou know, a couple episodes before then
analyzing like teasers and stuff. AndI'd like to do it. I would
I would like to at one pointdo like a Carol centric episode that would
be Carroll v a R. Whilea Carol centric episode that would be That
(01:08:04):
would be really cool. That wouldbe a lot of fun. But one
thing I want to say, I'veI've had a great time covering, covering
the show and covering Daryl Dixon, and we've had we've had a great audience
(01:08:26):
and you know, like no assholespopping up, which is which is awesome.
Things they are so toxic online andguys, if somebody has a different
opinion than you about an episode ora character, as long as they're not
(01:08:49):
being offensive about it, just don'tbe a dick. Just people think differently
about things, Okay, Like it'sit's not it's not that serious. It's
a show. There's there's no needto like threaten people's family members because you
(01:09:10):
because they didn't like an episode.I mean, it's it's just ridiculous.
There's there's too much of that goingon, and all opinions should be welcome.
You know, like Donn and Iare Donn and I are both big
Carol and Daryl shippers. You know, one of one of our our after
(01:09:31):
show co hosts is a big it'sa big Daryl and Connie shipper. You
know, like, who cares it'sit's a freaking TV show. Exceptly yea.
But fortunately everybody who has participated inour live chats and you know,
(01:09:54):
everybody's everybody's been really cool. SoI'm I'm I'm happy for that now.
It's I don't think the meanies wouldbe on here spit now toxic stuff anyway,
because I know they would get blocked. They know they would get blocked
immediately. But uh, Cyborg Queen, I mentioned this last night, but
(01:10:20):
I know we've got different people watchingthis. Cyborg Queen is uh it today
is April. Oh, it's AprilFool's Day. Cyborg Queen is on is
on break for two weeks. Allof our content is on on I I
(01:10:40):
don't want to say all of ourcontent because a chance you could see something
from us don and I might bequite not a video later this week,
but a whole Queen's is the onlyregular show that we've got going right now,
and that's on on break for twoweeks. We're taking a little vacation
and which is great timing because mybirthday is Friday. So thanks, thank
(01:11:05):
you. We have a lot ofaries people on this channel. It's kind
of funny. But yeah, sowe were on break, but well we've
got you know, you might seesome some Book of Carol stuff from us.
You might see some Cyborg disco stuff. For me, there is I'm
(01:11:27):
dealing with a really really serious situationright now. That is that is not
fun and it's it's it's very veryserious. And if you want to see
the whole story on that, youcan go to our second channel, Cyborg
Queen two. I have a wholevideo on it, and I could use
(01:11:53):
any supportive comments, and like, you know, if you know of any
other way you can help, thatwould be great too. But it's it's
really it's something that's really been affectingmy life heavily for the past seventeen months,
and not in a good way.But uh yeah, So the the
(01:12:15):
break is it's very welcome for me. I'm gonna very much I needed.
Yeah, chill out and watch alot of watch a lot of TV and
and do some exercise and play withmy dogs and hopefully we'll have nicer weather
coming up soon, and just getaway from creating content for a little while,
(01:12:39):
because it's hard busting your butt whenyou've got when you're under constant attack
from people who are trying to destroyyour channel. You know, it's it's
just it's frustrating. But don didyou have anything you wanted to add before
we sit out? Going to say, Paul your whole we're on break.
(01:13:01):
If you want to hear me talkingabout other TV shows, you can catch
me on the other podcast I do. One of the other podcasts, the
Custom TV and it's on the Customtv dot com. You can read my
writings, my reviews. My latestreview was off Showgun, which I'm loving,
love Showgun. But you know,on the podcast, we cover lots
(01:13:24):
of new shows every week, soyou can hear me talking about all the
latest TV. It's the Customer tvdot com. That's great. Yeah,
okay, yeah, I'm just gonnaI'll put that up. I'll put that
up here so everyone can can seeit. So yeah, check out you
can you guys can check out downthere too. Since I've got some time
off. Speaking of reviews, Don'tthe great writer. And that's how I
(01:13:50):
