Speaker 1 (00:14):
Hey, everyone, what's up?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
I am Kelly doesn't fall for fascist Keen and I'm done.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
At least let me get in front of Glen.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Another good moment, two great moments.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yeah, at least you guys don't fall for fascist lies.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
It's very funny, one of.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
The best in the whole season.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yeah, definitely the cheers as well.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
I was like, yeah, oh my gosh, so we're back
for the penultimate episode.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
It's man, I can't I still can't believe these seasons
are like our six episodes. I wonder if they're going
to make them longer going forward, since since the Caroline
and Darryl are basically it now.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Yeah, I mean Dead City is eight, which is the
Vegan and Magi one. Yeah, they've got eight episodes this season,
so give us eighty. Feel a bit better, a bit little,
a bit more time to breathe, because if we didn't
did feel a bit rough.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, like they've you know, I'm glad they're not doing
these sixteen episode seasons with like where every other episode
is an hour and a half. Yeah yeah, I mean
basically the garbage people were created to fill space.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Yeah, yeah, because the pacing was so bad.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
That's really bad. Yes, so I'd rather have too little
than too much.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
You know, yes, I agree, I agree at least be
compact rather than bloated. That's just you know which The
Walking Dead did feel a lot, but I think a
lot of the problem with this season is because they
had to. They had two streams crossing there. Across the streams,
(02:09):
they had Carol coming in and basically getting rid of
all the French people's are writing them out, but feeling
like they wanted to give them a moment in the
sun before they got rid of them. So it's you.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Know, serving two masters basically as the as the Phraezes.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
So yeah, yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Well this this episode is called vois poui, which means
what to want is power or yes.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Apparently it's a common freeze in France and idium that
sort of means you know, if you manifest it and
you'll get it.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Kind of gotcha, okay, gotcha.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
And before we get into it, I just want to say,
first of all, welcome back, Welcome. If this is your

keeping an eye on me.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Apparently.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Apparently I'm a little in trouble with Ashar right now
at the moment, because you know, so she has to
she has to keep a close eye.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
But we host.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Several other podcasts and right now we are also covering Teacup,
which is on Peacock.
Speaker 1 (03:56):

Speaker 2 (03:58):

to have Peacock to watch it if you can watch
it weekly on the USA Network and we are actually
covering it weekly, so if you want to follow along
with us, you can do that.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
It's great. I'll be totally honest.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
I started watching it because I mean, Bruce Campbell caught
my interist. But it's a really straight role for him.
But the show is just fantastic. It's I'm absolutely loving it.
And we are also covering my current favorite show, which
is From with From Series podcast and we have a
(04:39):
couple of giveaways going on right now for that. We
have in addition to our weekly recaps for From we
also do an after show and we are giving away
this at the end of this season, a cameo with
David alpay So, who plays Jade on the show, and
we will be doing at the end of the season.
(05:01):

all our From videos and you'll get and join our

(05:25):
And if you watch the show, you know that Jade
wears this cat shirt that he's wearing in the picture.
He wears this a lot on the show.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
And I am wearing.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
One myself and it's we're actually going to give one
away this Sunday if we get enough people at the
after show and I say this Sunday because that applies.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
That's going to apply every week.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
If we get enough people in the chat, in the
chat during the after show, we will give away a
cat shirt. So come on by after the episode, bring
your friends. And if you haven't started watching from yet,
you have to.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Don.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Don hasn't watched it yet, and I'm trying to as.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
It's on my list at the top of my list night.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
But it's it's just a magnificent show. But yeah, so
it's uh. I wanted to talk before we get into
the episode really quick. I just wanted to talk about
the hilarious video.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
The video that gave me a wheeze.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
I was laughing so hard at it. I was like,
I'm gonna to come into.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
This coughing wheeze.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, it's dying. It's a screen run, doesn't it? A
screen runt?
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Interview with the cast chrome last weekend, and they've asked
about what Candle's.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Opinion of the whole Isabel thing is.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Liab Bride says, you know, she's thinking, oh, what's going
on here? Who is this guy? I don't I don't
know you anymore kind of thing. Norman is trying to say,
you know, it's just a mission. What did you think
we'd be chilling by the beach, Melissa?
Speaker 3 (07:16):
No?
Speaker 4 (07:17):
No, uh, you know who are You're building a life here?
What's going on? And and I'm you've got all European
and I'm cock blocking.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
And there is deathly silence.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I love her for like.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Five seconds, there's just nothing until they.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Go, what blocking?
Speaker 1 (07:45):
It was great?
Speaker 4 (07:46):
She's so funny, she is hilarious.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Norman says, I've never heard you use that.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Term before, so somethings called for it. And this whole
thing with Isabella has, you.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Know, my favorite inner like I love the I love
the two of them together that I mean the actors
will the actors and the characters of course, but my
favorite interaction between them, I think was on Twitter where
he asked, like, I think people were asking her questions
(08:19):
or something, and Norman Ritas tweeted at her, Melissa, who's
the funniest person in the cast?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Better say me? She responds, okay me.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
They are so funny together. I think that's why all
the the bound Tree kind of sees, you know, there
was so many of last week and it just works
so well because I think that's just that that's just
their dynamic off screen as well that Famoue picture of
them from from.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Season where they're going like that when laughing each other
the girls lap fight.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Yeah, and of course the stiggering and laughing when they
were asked about happy endings.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
They're just they're a pair of juveniles, yes, And the.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Happy ending thing was hilarious because like she didn't even
react to it before Norman looked at her.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
He's like, don't Yeah, I know what you're gonna say,
so so funny.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
All right, well, I guess we should actually talk about
the episode, I suppose.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
So it's it's funny because this episode when I was
after I'd watched it and written my notes, and I
thought I'm going to struggle to write my review, and
then it was a really.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Long, right, So it wasn't doubly more in it than
Night Realize, if you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Yeah, So we start this episode in the card that
Daryl and Carl had got from THEO and dB we
Love You, and it's take them so far, but it's
broken down.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Darryl is sitting contemplating.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Death, obviously staying in space, while Carol's trying to get
the car going. She's asked him to read it, and
he's not listening, but he tries it again. It's like, no,
this car is dead. I guess we're walking. So they
gather their stuff and head off.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Into the beautiful French Corry said, that's the window, which
is lovely.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Meanwhile, we go back to Fullou's place. Now, I cannot
remember what that camp is called.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Do you remember what it's it is called? I always
forget it.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Every single time, and I should have worked.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
I will. I will tell you keep going and I'll
tell you.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
In a moment. Okay, So back at Fullu's in certain
name place.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
One of the other people there, Nadine, young woman Nadine.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Mark what sorry was it? It's not Mark?
Speaker 4 (10:59):
What? Mark? Mark?
Speaker 6 (11:00):
Mark?
Speaker 4 (11:01):
Okay, thank you Mark, Mark flu And there's a young
woman Nadine is saying. He's asking how she asked how
Bastian is going, and she says, it's hard. Everybody's trying
to understand what happened at the nest. Obviously everything's falling apart.
Some people have ended up back there who've escaped the nest.
(11:23):
And Flus says that Lussang lost his way and he
took good people like a meal. With him, but we
move on and the woman asks, where's Laurent? You know
how to okay? And and Laurent is a symbol for
what the future offers, and he still is and he's
(11:45):
safe with us, so he's is.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Keeping him safe at the mark.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
And just then there is a knock at the door
and we see as the door rises someone on their knees.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
It's Control and he has survived the nests. Hooray, we love.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
He's on his knees and you know, hands in the air.
He's completely saying, look, I'm here as a not as
an enemy, not as a threat. He flew drags him
inside and is saying, how dare you come here after
everything you've done? And but Coudron asked for a chance
to explain. He wants to say, you know, he wants
(12:28):
to give his explanation for why he's changed, but they're
not giving him a chance. However, Laurent is watching and
he comes in and says, no cauldron saved our lives.
And he tells them about when they were out on
the road at the end of season one, that he
could have killed them and didn't and he saved He
actually killed the other guards and letting them go. So
(12:51):
Coudron explains that he has, you know, escaped the nest,
but the nest is gone. And the woman who's and
again and other lady I've forgotten her name. I'm terrible Sonia.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
That's it Sonia.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Who we saw last season. I love her because she
plays quite good a big part of this.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
And she's like, she's.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Like, no, I'm not having any of this.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
She's like, well good, I'm glad Lussang.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
Because he said Lasang Jerry has had Luzang captured. And
she's like, well, dude, that's what he deserves. And she
Lauren asks to Darryl Isabell get out, and Cauldron says
he doesn't know because you know, he didn't see them,
(13:39):
but he did meet an American woman who.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Was looking for Daryl.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
I love that, and we got separated a lawyer.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
La just says, what's her name?
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Carol?
Speaker 2 (13:52):
That?
Speaker 4 (13:53):
Yeah, I love that he knows if there was some
woman looking for Darryl is Carol?
Speaker 3 (13:59):
And what did Daryl say to him? You know, what
what stories did you tell about Carol?
Speaker 4 (14:04):
Which I just love the idea.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
So we see Carol Darrel.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
They're now walking through Paris Carol asks, what is Darn
going to tell Lauren about Isabella? Darris?
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Is you know the truth? Can you tell them?
Speaker 4 (14:19):
But he says, you know, at least he's still he's
coming back with us. You I've got that, I've got
a future for them. That's something, something positive. But then
and Daryl asked about Ash, which is so funny. Every
time he brings up it's like Carol says something and
then he's like so, He's like, you're so your friend Ashod.
(14:45):
You know, bringing back a kid wasn't part of the plan.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
Is he going to be okay with it?
Speaker 4 (14:49):
And Carol's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's going to be greatly. Yeah,
he was completely expecting Again, he wasn't expecting you, Daryl.
And they're they're trying to get to the racetrack where
(15:10):
they left the plane and.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Ash and they're walking through the field. This is this.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
Is one of my favorite bits and one of my
favorites the episodes and Carols. It's like when they're walking
away from the nest that Carol's like trying to speed
up and she's trying to get in front of Darryl
and he won't. He won't let her and She's like,
you know, let me speak to Ash first, because he's
not going to be comfortable with you. And Rol's like,
you know, he knows you were looking for me though.
(15:35):
Just Me's like, well, so, Carol says, you know. She
tries to start pivot and say, no, look, he's lived alone,
he's he's not used to people. Just let me let
me grease the wheels a bit. And Darrel's like like,
(15:55):
look at this place. He's you know, it's so open.
I don't want you to take any dumb rest. So
I thought there's a great line. And she's like, how
do you think I found you?
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yes? I love that, Yes exactly Carol. How much you
risk to get to come and get him?
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (16:13):
And but eventually she says, look, okay, I may have
embellished some a little, and Daryl says, what you you lied?
But did you say I was your brother or so.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
That was I felt like that was a deliberate yes
nod to the to everyone insisting that that there.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
So yes, the brother and sister that I feel like
that's the whole, the whole yeah reason they brought up
to They.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
Go no, and I was like, no, why would I
say that? And so she says, look, look, just just
let me get in front, because he's like, no, I'm
still coming. I'm still coming. So it's like, let me
get in front so I can at least look him
for it. And I think this was like an unplanned moment.
(17:05):
As she tries to get in front of him, there's
a tree branch in her way and it turns.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Which you can say on the sub title.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
It's a little.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
So they get in. They get to the hangar. Ash
has has boarded up.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
The the where they've kept the plane with with cornrigiated iron,
and you know he's built himself a nice little safe place.
But when they go inside and there, Darryl's about to
step foot inside and car was like, no, wait because
she knows Ash, and yeah, he's set a trap. So
she sets off the traps so they don't get gott
it go inside. No sign of Ash. They walk around
(17:46):
and Darrel discovers there's two.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
People. Will say on another one of Ash's traps.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
They're pealed and one of them is very much a walker,
but the other chap is still a lie with a
fabulous hair day.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
He's like a nineteen fifties like rocker. He's like all
comed forward like this. I'm not sure what that style is,
why they chose that, but he cool.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
And so Carol interrogates the guy and says, you know what,
where's Ash?
Speaker 3 (18:21):
And they said, oh, well, he never came back. He
left and me, you never came back.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
So they don't know where he's gone and what exactly
has happened to him. And he this chap begs them
first in French and then in English to put him down.
So Darrel does that, and then we get a flashback
to Ash at masl Mere running from walkers.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Why why he was there, we don't know.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
We'll never find out.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah, very strange that whole thing.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
I'm like, did they cat something, did they run out
of time.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Or did they just go Oh it doesn't important to Yeah,
I don't understand that at all.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Yeah, so weird.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
So's he's running from walkers and he sees a car
which he gets into for safety. But as he's trying
to push away the walkers that are surrounding the car,
he hits himself on the head with the door and
basically knocks himself unconscious. But he's in the car safe
and walkers around the car and all of that happened
(19:27):
before the titles.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
I'm sure only I'm like, oh, yeah, we haven't had
the titles yet.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Okay, you know, I have to say, I like, actually,
there's something that I enjoy about seeing people like get
minor head injuries and just get knocked.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Out from them.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yes, I feel like that doesn't happen enough, you know,
like they get a head injury and they're just they're fine.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
How many times is dar been hit in the head
He would have nothing left inside but yogurt? Yeah, yeah, exactly,
it's just yeah, yeah, they just keep going, you know,
then you sort of they're stunned for a second and
then keep going. No, let's them knocked out cold. So
the Darren Carroll continue on to go into Fulu and
(20:15):
they're this place I can't remember what it's called, but
it's beautiful underground, almost like the.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Sistine Chapel type paintings. Stunning that they're walking through. Lovely.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Obviously they just went this is pretty like it's on
and Carol is really worried about Ash and she says,
these people, you know, do you.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Think they'll be able to help us find him?
Speaker 4 (20:38):
And she says that Ash is not like us he's gentle,
and this obviously gets startles Echos up because he's like, well,
you got the haunts for him or something. Listen, dude,
you were kissing a nun five minutes ago.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
You've got no room to be asking.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
Yeah, you can't get all jealous there now, mate.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
I mean, let's face it.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
You know she has she has a pulse, so she
probably has the hots worm, probably because.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
Yeah, I'm sure.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
When Daryl sees it, he's like, oh, yeah, no, I
get it.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
We're a little we're a little as.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
What isn't Come on? The man is stunning, just lovely,
sweet cinnamon, but of.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
A guy, you know. Anyway, So Carol's like, no, no,
I don't have the hot worm, but I do like him,
and I understand, you know. So I think somebody else
pointed this out to me that in Carol's history, from
what Daryl has seen, the two guys she went out
(21:51):
with were very gentle, kind guys, you know, Tobyn and
Ezekiel were both gentle, sweet. So Daryld's obviously hearing.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Description and going, oh, hang on, this is her type
and not like him, who is you know, he thinks
of himself as very violent, so.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
That Carol says, you know, she likes him and he's
a good person, and you know that's not hard to fight.
So Darryl gets up the courage to say, so, tell
me more about this lie you so, and Carol tells
him the truth. She says, I I said I was
looking for my daughter, and I just love it.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
And Daryl with Sophia like which the daughter?
Speaker 4 (22:32):
But I just I loved hearing Daryl say Sophia's name.
It's been it feels like it's been a long time.
Maybe it hasn't, but it just feels like it has.
And I was like, oh, so theah just takes you
back to season two and Carol says, so, I don't
know where this lie came from. Yo, I was searching
for a reason. And I like that she said this
(22:53):
thinking about you, thinking about everything we've been through. And
then she says, oh, well, yeah, maybe I do know
where it's come from. And I love that because it's
reminding us, you know, the whole Cherokee Rose moment that
we saw the flashback and in the first episode, that
that is how they connected, that is where their bond
comes from. That's how she developed a love for him
(23:17):
and you know, whether you're romantic or not. But because
of how he was about Sophia, looking for Sophia and
being unrelenting and looking for her and wanting Carol to
have hope, and so, you know, it kind of makes
sense that Sofia, Sofia was this thing that.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
Happened to them both.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Even though she was she was her daughter, it did
obviously begin to feel to Daryl like she was something
to do with him, and he feels this terrible guilt
that he didn't find her alive for Carol. Yeah, so
I keep losing my for some reason. My earbudkeep just
(23:57):
starting popping out, as I thought. So we see Nadine
meets them at the door and she welcomes Darl with
a hug and lets them in, and there's Cadron sitting
at the table eating and flew in Sonia are watching
him and asking him questions about exactly what's happened. And
(24:22):
they said, you know, why did you come here after
everything that's happened, And he said, well, nowhere else to go.
And Sonya says, so you had a change of heart
and he Cadron says, you know, while he was locked up,
he had a lot of time to think, and he
thought about his his brother, Michelle, his parents, his men,
(24:45):
and they're all dead and everyone he wanted to protect
and they're all gone because of him. And I thought
that's really interesting because that's something else that you know,
Daryl feels all the time, and it really shows you
the parallel to to Darryl and even to Laurent later
on we hear him Laurent say a very similar thing,
(25:07):
that these people that they just take on the guilt
of all these other people that they couldn't have saved,
but it's on their conscience.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
So Carol and Daryl walk in, and Laurent runs up
to Daryl hugs him, and he immediately looks at Carol
and says, Carol from the Commonwealth, right, And she tells
her he prayed for her.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Quite funny, he prayed for her and Judith and our
Jene is he killed.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
He's Laurent is an interested in Connie.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
Partly we shouldn't talk about that because Connie is is
actually art.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Connie is Banana's favorite.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Oh no, well we better not say that.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Yeah on her phone right now, So no, I say
that because she was like, she's not really very interested
in TV like she was when she was a puppy.
But I was watching, like I was going back and
watching old seasons of The Walking Dead, and I was
watching the one the episode where.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Virgil found Connie.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Oh yeah, you know she was alive, and Banana just
stopped and just stare all the screen and then like
as soon as Connie was not the screen, she walked away.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
So wow, favorite character, her character wealthy.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
Yeah, that's wonder.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
I wonder what the psychology of that.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
Why, just like humans, isn't just somebody so.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Donald? Uh, she could drawn. And there's obviously a bit suspicious.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
That you hello, And Lauren asks where Isabelle is? So
Daryl says, I'm going to talk to you for a second.
It's obvious what's happened, okay, And Carol watches sadly. So
while Darrell's off with Laurn, Carol sitting with Feludron and
(27:23):
Sonya and they're sort of, you know, discussing everything that's
gone down at the nest and what's happened, and flu
asks if.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
The rumors are true that Jennie is dead, and Carol's like, yes,
she should have gone. Yeah I did it.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
But she's very she's very modest, and Sonia says, you know,
maybe now it'll be say for blessed Sonya. I feel
like Sonya is me. I'm constantly going no, it'll be
good now fine, And so flu asks Carol, so this
this guy, you're you're you're lost. What do you know?
(28:04):
And and Carol's as well. For him to be missing,
he must be in trouble. There's something going on. So
we cut to Lauren in bed, Daryl sitting on the
foot of the bed, and Lawn is up the top.
And Melissa McBride spoke before the season started about a
scene that she thought was like Norman Readers's best performance,
(28:28):
and I suspect it was this one because.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
She said it was a scene with with.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Daryl and Laurn and it is. You know, it is
a very it's a very sad moving scene because obviously
he's having to tell Laurent that that Isabelle's said, and
Lawrence's looking at the picture of his mother that he
has and the and he says, you know, she's with
my mother now and Daryl is is fiddling with the
(28:53):
Ruberto Lawrence rub Daryl says, you know she died protecting you.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
That's what you want.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
And I was a bit confusing first. I was like,
but of course it was because she refused to give
up where if he was that she showed that I'd
forgotten that that there was so much focus on Isabelle
and Darryl had forgotten that aspect of the story. And
Laurent says, you know, she's dead, like Sylvie and the sisters.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
It's all my fault and it's you.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
He's saying, you know, it's a it's a terrible thing
to think of a world without them, and darl just
was yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
And then I have something to say about this. Laurence
says that to Darryl. Oh, she loved you. Isabelle loved you,
she told me. And I'm like, why would you tell
a twelve year old who you were in love with? Yeah? Yeah, right, Yeah,
(29:54):
I don't like that.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Yeah, it seems very strange.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
Yeah, you wouldn't be going by the way I would
love with him, Okay, And Darryl says nothing in a
turn Again, there's another awkward silence where he just fiddles
with the Rubik's cube and then and gives it back
to him. So I think now that he's had several
chances to stay it back and he hasn't that we
can be pretty certain he doesn't love Isabeth. He had
(30:22):
feelings for her, cared about her, but he didn't he
didn't love her. And it's possible that that moment where
he's sitting there with Laurent, the feeling he is is
it's not just it's not awkwardness as well, but maybe
it's also guilt that he didn't love her back. And
you know, if we take what Norman readis is saying
that it's it was an experimentation. Darrel was just experimenting
(30:45):
that maybe he feels bad, you know.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
That she she loved him, and he was just like,
let's try this.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Yeah, it was very It was very much like a
be almost of Carol and Ezekiel.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Yeah exactly.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah, except were like you know, I mean they were
together for a long time.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Yes, yeah, it wasn't fasting, but yes, it's very the
similar thing. You know, as they said last week that
the kid was the glue that held them together and
without that, you know, the same thing happened when Henry died.
Carol realized without him there was just not enough there.
And I think obviously Daryl realized that as well, very
(31:29):
quickly that just without Laurent, they didn't have a future together.
They didn't have he didn't have enough feeling for her,
which is you know, which is a shame because she
threw away her numbouse for him. Oh well he did
for a meal who turned bad. So the lesson is,
(31:52):
don't stop being a nun.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
I'm going to I'm going to join the convit tomorrow.
I don't think you'll thank me, but I'll try.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Sure the will.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
I'm sure they need numbers. I can't imagine it's a
common career choice these Please.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Can I tell you something I like?
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Not to get off on another tangent, but I had this.
So I went to a Catholic grade school, okay, and
we had several of our teachers were nuns, and in
I think it was seventh grade, I had my social
studies teacher was Sister Danielle. And Sister Danielle would listen
(32:38):
to heavy metal music.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Charlie, I love your stories.
Speaker 7 (32:45):
They never go I expect all whoa well good for
Sister Danielle.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Were walking out in a wimple. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
I didn't know where I thought you were going for that,
but I certainly wasn't there.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
That's oh so many Now suddenly, oh, something has happened
to my phone.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
Hang on, hang on my phone itself off. I mean,
just I can't see anything. I don't know what's happened there.
I apologize what it's trying.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
There we go already.
Speaker 4 (33:28):
I think I must have just I'll just have to
touch this communications. It doesn't go into I had no
internet at all for twelve hours today, so I was
thinking a bit worried. The factually came back.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
So Laurent and and Daryl are sitting on the bed.
Speaker 4 (33:47):
And Darl's obviously trying to sort of cheer Lauren up
and says, you know, Isabelle and I talked about three
of us going back to America. We can still do that.
And Carol has a plane. Well she has a friend.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
With Blaine, and that's what you will do.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
And there's this moment where Lauren has this dream dealer
smile like, and he's like, do you think there's a
day when all this will be over? And kids? You know,
you can go to go to school with kids, and
we can go and see a movie, and I can
ride a bike. And I was like, well, you know,
We've got a lot of that stuff in the corn.
Well I can reach you to ride a bike. And
(34:26):
Lauren is like so happy for a moment, but then
he's like, no, no, it's not it's not going to happen.
And he says, I should say here and you should
go back to your back home where you belong. That's
what you always wanted. And then Darrel says this line
and again I hate this. You're wrong that I was wrong.
(34:48):
That's not what I wanted. That's not what I want.
That it's not what you want either.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
So so Daryl, what do you want? Because I'm very concioused,
ye I am. I don't understand it.
Speaker 4 (35:03):
You know, it's like when he said, Isabelle, you I
found something here and she said the same thing, and
you know all you wanted was to go home, and
you said I was wrong.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Why were you wrong? Because right now you're still.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Trying to go home.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
So what was wrong? But why?
Speaker 4 (35:20):
I need somebody to explain that to me because I
don't understand.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
He's a confusing man.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
But so anyway, but Laurent's not convinced, and and need
Lawrence says it's different, and darl says, why Lawrence, I've
got friends here here, I'm happy here, and you'll be
happy too when you go home.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
I was like you sure, says yet yep.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
Yeah. So Laurence turns, turns over, goes to go to
sleep and said good night. Basically this conversation is over,
but as Dara walks away, we can see that Lawrence's
crying next morning. This is a great little scene this
because it was completely not necessary, but I really liked it.
Carol is walking around the camp and she's just seeing
(36:09):
everything and taking all in in wonderment, and I really
loved that moment. It's just a oh, look what they've
got this great set up here. They've got a kid
riding a bicycleter on a washing making.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Really like that. You know, they're growing vegetables.
Speaker 4 (36:25):
There's a man, old Frenchman, and he's like got his
own little stall of things, and you know they're sewing
and they're just working as a community. And Carol obviously
looks around like, oh, this is cool. And I wondered
if it was going to lead some place, but it does.
Appreciating it.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
But Darryl is sitting on it on a table.
Speaker 4 (36:51):
Again, wallowing, wallowing as Daryl does she's Carol walks up
to him and she's As she's walking towards him, she
sees this girl standing at one of the one of
(37:13):
the beds of vegetables and she thinks for a moment
it's Sophia, and she has we have a very small flashback.
But then the girl turns. So when she she goes
up to Daryl and she says, you know, are you
ready to go? Don't look for ash and Daryl's and
she says, do you want to talk about it? And
(37:35):
Daryl says no, And she says do you mind if
I do?
Speaker 3 (37:39):
And I cheered because I'm like, yes, Carol, use your words.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Yes. This has been going on since like season five,
where they've sat together and Daryl has said to Carol,
you want to talk about it? Tell me about He's
begging her to talk about it, and she's like, no,
I can't. So here she is saying to Daryl, Okay,
I'm going to talk. And I think it shows you
(38:04):
know that she is experiencing growth. She is starting to
process things and and and deal with her trauma and
start to realize that if she talks about it, that's
how she's going to get.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
Through and you know, and it's like I said last week,
it's we hate that Darryl has been so weird with her, Yes,
but it's like it's been kind of a blessing in
disguise because she for her I mean, because she yes,
it's there, and she's expecting him to just like make
(38:37):
her feel great and you know she's all healed and
he's not going to do that.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
No, exactly, she has to do herself. She came here
because she had all these bad feelings and she's the
only person that would make her feel better with Daryl,
but he's not doing that because he's got up in
his own stuff. So she has to deal with it herself,
which is yea great. So she she says to Daryl,
you know, I know what's going on. I know you
(39:04):
really wanted Laurent to come, and I know he's not
and that sucks. But I don't know if you know
the scene from Person Recreations where I think it's Ane
saying to I think it's Chris, where she's like, you know,
so you don't have to solve my problems when I'm
telling you problems, just have to say that sucks.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
And my husband, my husband does it to me all
the time. Now is that.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
Al's doing To Darl, I'm not going to fix your problems.
I'm just you know, I'm here to give you comfort.
And Darl says, he's let Laurent down, and you know
that's angry and we can't blame him. Says, oh, what
you think he's getting back at you? You know, and
(39:55):
she doesn't believe it, and Darl's like, well, I probably
deserve it. I'm here, and Isabelle's not churls is And
now you're replaying every decision you made, because then they
share one brain. She knows exactly what you're thinking that
you're replaying because she does exactly the same thing. You're
replaying every decision, rethinking is there anything I could have
done differently? And I love the dal goes Yeah, it's
(40:18):
a pretty long list. I was like, yes, kissing kissing
her is right at the top of that list. And
charls as well, you and me both you know, they're
they're both in the same situation that they beat themselves
up so much for everybody else's death.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
And I was thinking about.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
The scene the fight that they had and find me
and where Carol is saying to Daryl, you know, you
have to stop doing this. Everybody's death is not your fault.
It's not always on you, and she needs to do
that for herself as a.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
I mean, it's you know, he's he blames himself for
Henry's Jeff and.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
Yeah, and I can actually see why he would, yes,
because he he.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Could have done things better.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
Yeah, yes, but I still but I still don't think
he should blame me.
Speaker 4 (41:17):
Interestingly, just yesterday I saw on Facebook somebody had posted
a couple of pictures from season one of the main
show when Sophia went missing, and they were saying whose
fault was it, Rick or Carol's, And most people said Rick.
I like that, Okay, hey it's not Carols. But most
a lot of people said it was nobody's fault. It's
(41:38):
just one of those things, you know. Yeah, but I
think it's interesting that audiences often will just blame the women.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
They always will.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
Yeah, there's a there's a character on from she's the
the female lead.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
The character's name is Tabitha. And I like, I'm like,
I'm with her like I am with Carol. I'm just like,
I will defend her to death because she is so
people talk about like how she's she's flighty, she's a
ding bad she does stupid ship, she's one of the
(42:18):
smartest people, she's one of the smartest characters, and meanwhile
her husband's a total doorknob.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
It's the way.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
Yeah, it's just it's crazy, like how much blame female
characters get first.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
It really it's why as good when it's an all
princonal part to the old female cuss then you don't
have the same problem where the men get away with
everything and the women are getting all.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
This hard shit from the us of the audience.
Speaker 4 (42:51):
So uh, Darald says, you know, he's obviously getting a
bit full of philosophical and he says, you know, why,
why why why have you and me survived this long?
And Charls's luck, they're like, well, bad luck, And it's
hard to tell the difference.
Speaker 3 (43:10):
And I think it's it's that, you know, survivor's guilt
is a classic, classic thing.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
But I think I really, as I said before, and
I'm going to say it until they deal with it
on Streak, I really want Daryl to acknowledge that the
fact that they are there and together is some kind
of miracle, and it really makes you to think, well,
hang on, maybe there's a reason for that. Maybe there's
(43:38):
a purpose that you and I are together for whatever reason.
I don't know what their purpose is, but you know,
I want to see him really think about how has
this happened? Why?
Speaker 3 (43:50):
You know, And this is a little touch of it,
but I.
Speaker 4 (43:53):
Think this is more about survivor's guilt than him looking
at why.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
I mean, I mean, think of that.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
I think about how desperate he was to get on
a boat to go home, and at the last second,
Laurent comes along and needs his help.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
Like, yeah, if you'd gotten on that boat.
Speaker 4 (44:13):
Yeah, exactly, if Isabelle hadn't been there to save him
in the first place. You know that there are so
many moments where had there been a second or a
moment's difference, that he would be dead or he would
be someplace completely different. But the fact that Laurent showed
up on the beach stopped him getting on that boat,
(44:35):
meant that Carol could catch up with him and find him.
And that's and Laurent is the chosen one. So Laurent's right.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
Us Jesus.
Speaker 4 (44:47):
So he's acting is it as a what's the word
a vehicle, A vessel, a vessel for God. So he's
a vessel for God. So God wants you to be
with Carol. Darryl pay attention. Oh, which reminds me I
posted on social media that I mentioned last week when
(45:09):
d D says to Carol, reasons are everywhere, and I said,
I thought that was the same line that the Nuns
the Mother Spirior says to Darryl at Abby in season one,
and I was right. It is exactly the same line.
Speaker 3 (45:20):
She also says reasons are everywhere.
Speaker 4 (45:23):
So they they're they're both being told look around you people,
and you know, think about what's what's happening. Which I
really love that and I hope that's picked up it
as it goes forward. Yeah, so Flu comes up and says,
you know, it's going to be really hard to find
(45:44):
this this friend of yours. We don't have any information
on them. It's a stranger. What are the chances of
even finding him alive? And I love the cargoes to
I found him alive, what.
Speaker 3 (45:59):
Are the chances of it? I can argue with that.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
You can't.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
I wasn't about to tell that he has plant armor.
Speaker 4 (46:11):
It's okay, he's really hot, dear, so that Flu says,
you know, if you if you need information, and there's
only one place to go, and Daryl's like, oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
I am very popular, not very popular in this place.
Speaker 4 (46:39):
So we see Darld Carol go to the Demi Mold
and this is another I just when they talked about
doing this spin off in France, and when we heard
about there was going to be a nightclub.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Then.
Speaker 4 (46:54):
Oh I can't. Yeah, Carol, you know when they talked
about their doing a nightclub in the in this show,
I was like, the bit, nah, I don't know what
(47:17):
the American word for happen, but a bit, a bit
out there, I suppose, And but I really like it
because this scene gives us, you know, the the idea
of a nightclub is a bit is a bit like
a post apocalyptic nightclub. But they also talked about where
they're going to this doing a spin off.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
They wanted it to be new and fresh, and this
is new and fresh.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
You know, that's not something you're ever going to see
in the main show is this nightclub with.
Speaker 3 (47:49):
Drag queens and bondage guys. So I really I really
like that they did that and.
Speaker 4 (47:56):
Carol's Carol's reaction as she's walking through. It's fantastic because
she was married to a controlling, abusive man.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
There's no way she was going to clubs in her
old life. Yes, yes, very much.
Speaker 4 (48:18):
And one of the the women comes up and.
Speaker 3 (48:26):
Propositions Darryl for for a good time. I looked up
what tried to.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
Look up what she says in English, but it was
just something like do you want and assumed, you know,
we understand from her from her body language, we get
the get the gist.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
She said to Carol. But I missed what she said
to Carol.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
It was it was it was a really weird sentence.
When I translated it, it was just but it was
some want was in there. So she was always what
do you don't you want anything? And she's she backs
up onto Carol and grinds on her a little, and
then if she pulls away, Carol grabs her our rest.
Speaker 3 (49:10):
She stolen Carol's knife.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
Girls like.
Speaker 3 (49:16):
Like no, thank you.
Speaker 4 (49:20):
So they they walk through the demiment and I meant
to say, as well, the lady marmal ladies, which is
a nice, nice thing. But why this episode was not
called muluge, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
That was such so weird.
Speaker 6 (49:40):
Yeah, so they go in and Daryl says, he pays
all right, Charley.
Speaker 4 (49:57):
We can see that a lot of Jenny's men are
there with their weapons. Of course, and when Daryl was
there in season one, there were no weapons were loud,
but things have changed. They've all got their weapons on them.
And he sees Anna and she's hanging the Mona Lisa
up and.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
At yes exactly. She's like, I don't want any of
this money stuff.
Speaker 4 (50:31):
And so she's there, says the line that's in the
trailer and which is the only way I will see
darl Nix was Daryl Dixon, you were dead? I was like, no,
not yet, thanks, And.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
I love when they have Daryl being sarcastic. He's like, yeah,
I love what you've done with the place. She's she's
loosened up. The rules rules are.
Speaker 4 (50:55):
So British, and that the people want to be free,
especially French people. So she invites Daryl and Carol to
come and sit with her, and.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
A lady and a man on a dog a dog collar. Yes,
comes in and brings them champagne.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
He's obviously one who has not done what he's told
and he's now being punished, and so they sit down,
and Anna says that even though Quinn didn't understand that
the way things are, some of his men needed some
(51:39):
persuading head the guy in the collar, and Carol says, oh,
you're you're very popular with the giryar and Anna looks
at her, like you are recognize a queen and she says,
when the queen dies, the bees scatter with the honey.
(51:59):
Because and is pragmatic, and she was just like, hang on,
somebody else dies, there's a lot of loops to be had,
and I want in on that business. Like when she's
all about the business, and she's like says, who who
are you? And then Darrel's like, she's a friend of mine,
leave her alone. But I really liked the way and
(52:22):
is like, oh another friend.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
What happened to the nun? You know, it's like Daryl
can't keep all the women.
Speaker 4 (52:34):
But Daryl says she's dead, and then she looks concerned,
and she asked about Lauren, and you know, she obviously
does care a bit about Laurent. So he's you know,
he's saying he's fine, he's safe where you can't nobody
can get him. And she says, well, you know, I
did what I had today because obviously the last time
(52:56):
when they encountered her, although she let them go, there
was problems, and she said, I'm sorry for if there's
collateral damage, and Daryl says, okay, make up to us.
Speaker 3 (53:07):
You can help us the she she asks Carol.
Speaker 4 (53:14):
And how exactly did you get to come France. I'm
gonna tell you. But Anna says, that's funny because you
arrived just when a plane came.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
And of course a plane is such a rarity.
Speaker 4 (53:29):
Everybody's interested in that, and everybody wants it, so they
want in on that action. And while they're talking, Carol's
keeping an eye on the bar where all the men are,
and she sees somebody's brought into gas cancers red, so
she says, so Annie says, I tracked down I sent
(53:54):
men to track down that plane.
Speaker 3 (53:55):
Of course, that's the ones that were pierced.
Speaker 4 (54:00):
The ashes had svered and they never came back, and
Carol says, you know, sorry what by her friends, and
and I was like, well, okay, I'll put out a
word and well, you know, we'll find out what's going on.
But Carol's too distracted and she goes over to the
bar too, and she asks about this character, where's this
(54:20):
come from? And asks her men and she says, the
two garriers brought it in and it was looked from
me as a mere which by the way, is not
where he used to be. There's nothing left. So Darius
is all, we need a car and weapons. Carl's like, no,
one also need weapons. So back with flu Cauldron is
(54:47):
picking a strawberry and Laurent comes up to him and
we're not.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
Being the walking Google.
Speaker 4 (54:54):
He tells him that did you know the strawberries something
been see they help prevent scurvy that you can survey
on lawns, you know. And this is something I never
thought of until this saw this. Lawrens asks Cajn have
you ever tasted bananas? And I was like, oh, yeah,
because even we give no bananas growing in France. Yeah,
(55:16):
my mom Livily remembers her first banana just after the
war in the UK. It's that we've never had them before. Yeah,
And so Laurn asked Cojon for bananas tastes like I
was like, never.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
It's so funny, like you you know, you don't think
about that stuff.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
No, no, exactly.
Speaker 2 (55:41):
You don't get I mean, you know, he's he's never
had a banana. He's never had an avocado, like you know, yeah.
Speaker 4 (55:48):
Exactly, all the stuff that we just you know, take
for granted now, and you know, and even stuff.
Speaker 3 (55:57):
Like like glasses, what did what did they do my glasses?
You know, I'm flying the spot without mine.
Speaker 4 (56:03):
I like.
Speaker 2 (56:05):
I've I've talked about that actually on my disability podcast
about how like they're about the difference between having a
disability and living the life of a disabled person, because
like my husband, if the world ended and he broke
his glasses and suddenly didn't have contact or glasses, he
would absolutely bed be very disabled. Yeah exactly, But he
(56:31):
doesn't have a you know, he doesn't live as a
disabled person because that's society has evolved to accommodate that
because so many people are affected by vision problems. But yeah,
so that's that's something and and and that that's something
that I wish was included more in shows like this.
Speaker 4 (56:50):
Yes, me too, Absolutely, I would love there to be
a lot more of the ordinary issues that are coming up.
Speaker 3 (56:58):
Yeah, you know, my husband's diabetic, how do you how
do you deal that?
Speaker 4 (57:02):
I know that, you know, they dealt with that very
briefly in season six with Tina and but you know,
there are all these health problems that people have which
we just don't even think of as health problems because
we have the medications, you know, yeah, originally in a
situation like this, like.
Speaker 3 (57:23):
Are we meant to believe that Daryl and Carol.
Speaker 4 (57:25):
Now in their fifties, don't need glasses, don't need pain
killers on a regular basis, don't need glucose I mean
in terminic all these things to keep their their joints going.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
Do you know how many people would be dying from
infection because everything is rusty?
Speaker 3 (57:45):
Yes, exactly, yes.
Speaker 4 (57:47):
And what's oh gosh, what's the water poising and the
in the There was a recently BC adaptation of War
of the World where several characters just died from from water,
from drinking water that was tainted. Yeah, you know, it's
just there are a billion ways to die when you
(58:08):
don't have modern facilities, and it's I wish that these
shows would would talk about that a bit more. And
you know, they're all about the big dramatic Oh he
blamed out, he was bitten, but what if he just died?
Speaker 3 (58:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (58:23):
I would love to see a character, a character similar
to my husband who has, like you, know, the outbreak starts,
and there's nothing wrong with him. He's perfectly healthy and
he you know, he's perfectly capable.
Speaker 1 (58:35):
He's healthy enough, he's healthy enough to survive.
Speaker 2 (58:38):
And and then like you know, you see him a
couple of months down the line and he has to
be taken care of because he can't he can't see anything,
and he's not not being able to see.
Speaker 4 (58:49):
Yeah, yeah, if you should, we'll write our own.
Speaker 1 (58:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (58:58):
But yeah, I agree that I would like to see
a lot more ordinary stuff and a lot you know,
let's not always be focusing on big evil people and
just life. So Lauren and and Cauldron are talking and
he says, why did you want to kill Laurn asked,
why did you.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
Want to kill Daryl? And that's just because he killed my.
Speaker 4 (59:20):
Brother and I was angry, and Lawrence says, yeah, yeah,
because you loved your brother. And Caudron says, anger is
a disease. It makes you do terrible things. And Laurent,
because he is a super understanding guy, says he Toad's
fear here also makes you do terrible things.
Speaker 3 (59:40):
But I just love that.
Speaker 4 (59:41):
Yes, I know he's liked the special Chosen One, but
I like that you know that. It's what Isabel said
to Lussang last week. What makes Laurent special is how.
Speaker 3 (59:51):
He sees the world. He has a really.
Speaker 4 (59:55):
Inherent understanding of people and how they work and and
what dries people in it. I said in my written
review that I loved this scene between Coron and Lauren,
and I would have loved longer. I would have loved
the dynamic.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
Of these two together.
Speaker 4 (01:00:13):
You know, it was really interesting because Caudron obviously believes
and he does believe that Laurent is working through God,
and God is working through Laurn, I should say, and
that you know there's something there that He's meant to do.
And I just I thought that was a really interesting
(01:00:35):
draamic I.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Would have liked to see more of instead of Darry'll
be repeatedly told.
Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
Your his father, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:00:45):
Yeah, And Caudron explains that, you know why he saved Laurent,
that he believed what he said when he said God
loves us all, and he said, for the first time,
I felt God was watching to see what I was
going to do and put choice in make and Lawrence
as well, you know, you did the right thing. But
(01:01:06):
Cadron says, yeah, but I still hurt you and a
beggar forgiveness and really speak. Lawrence says, I already forgive you.
I just hope one day you can forgive yourself. Also,
please say that to Carolyn, Darryl Laurent.
Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
Can we just have Laurent hanging around around Daryln.
Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
Carol and acting as a therapist for them, please? That
would be really good some therapy. And I think he's
the guy.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Yeah, yeah, I agree.
Speaker 4 (01:01:38):
So just at that moment, there's a commotion outside and
Lussang and just Sint to arrive with their mix of
people from the Nests and from me on their news
formed army and Codron immediately hides Laurent, the two of
them hiding the scaffolding as the song comes in, and says,
(01:02:01):
if we put your guns down and there's nothing to
worry about, could she that's what people say when they comments.
Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:02:14):
So we cut back to be Mayor and Darl and
Carl are arriving in their jeep and I shall hond
over to you all right.
Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
So they they show up in their jeep and they
see all the guards dead there. They start walking through
the tunnel and she kind of goes into one of
the offices to have a look around, and she finds
the tape recorder that Darryl recorded in the pilot episode,
which it's like, just just another weird coincidence, you.
Speaker 3 (01:02:46):
Know, Sally, Yes, yes, He.
Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
Comes in and interrupts her and to bring her to
like this PLEXI get glass wall, this this area that's
kind of like in case by plexiglass, and there's just
a mess of walkers behind it, and she's you know,
she starts searching all their faces and she doesn't see ash.
(01:03:12):
So they then look out the window and they see
a bunch of walkers swarming a car, and so obviously
they know that there's there's like even Daryl says, there's
something alive inside there.
Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
Oh, I say, she pocketed into the tape recorder. I
missed that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:31):
So I watched it back several times because I thought,
what did you do with it? But you can see
dinner and Life talking, so that might come up again.
Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
Okay, I didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
I didn't realize I missed that suddenly for somehow, for
some reason. So yeah, they they hurry out to the car,
and and then we cut back to Fulu's camp and
the nest people are still looking for Lauren.
Speaker 1 (01:03:57):
Well the nest and and uh.
Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
Look Sangs and and Janey's combined forces.
Speaker 4 (01:04:04):
The Union of Union of Hope.
Speaker 2 (01:04:06):
Yes, yeah, Blue grabs a woman at knife point, but
Sangs people just all point their guns at at him,
so he has to let her go. And uh la
Sang tells tells Blue that you know he's he's a
dumb ass for following for for believing in in Dixon
(01:04:28):
because he only he's only faithful to himself. Really a
really hypocritical statement for a guy who just.
Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
Stobbed and non.
Speaker 8 (01:04:40):
Yes, but uh, like you know you think that you
keep saying Laurent is going to save humanity, but it
all actually you want to save.
Speaker 4 (01:04:55):
There.
Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Yeah, but you know he Lou says that that Daryl
wants to save Laurent, and losaying wants to make him
a martyr. We cut back to Carol and Darryl fighting
walkers to get to the car, and while this is happening,
we hear Loo saying just giving some bullshit.
Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
Speech about like Laurent.
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
Has prooved that God is still there, blah blah blah,
and then one of the greatest lines, I just I
I I literally cheered when I heard this line because
this is something that I like, This is something that
I've said so many times whenever I've gotten into arguments
(01:05:40):
with people about like religion or whatever, like you know,
I always say, there's there's nothing wrong with faith, but
in order to have faith, you have to believe in
something without proof. Yeah, And and Fi Lou says, if
you need roof, you've already lost faith.
Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
Boom laid down truth.
Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
I mean rightly gets a riddom applause. Yes, I love
Aspartacus moment.
Speaker 4 (01:06:16):
I love thought when and Sonia starts clapping yeah, and
then everybody else does it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, everyone starts stomping and clapping their feet,
and it was just it was a great moment. And
uh and you know, and that that honestly is like
and that's the problem. Not not to start trying to,
you know, get down on religion or anything, because I
know it's an important part of some people's lives. But
(01:06:45):
that right there is the basis for all of the
problems that religious wars and religious conflict has caused. Is
that is not being able to draw a line between
mean truth and faith.
Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
And there's not nothing wrong with.
Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
Faith, and that's you know FULU and the song represent
the two.
Speaker 4 (01:07:08):
Kinds of of religious people. The religious believers you have
where the sang has a point to it, he has
an end focus and he has a where's flu.
Speaker 3 (01:07:20):
Believes just to believe, to up to feel something, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:07:25):
And that's the difference that people who believe just for
that feeling of belief, they don't need anybody else to
believe it. They don't need to prove to the world
this is true. They just believe and that's enough. Yeah,
and that's that's you a healthy word from him. Then
you see what happens to the song if you take
it further.
Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
Yeah, like you know, and to just give an example,
like I think we all have you know, we all
have faith in something. I think like I have faith
that my husband isn't cheating on.
Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
Me, yes exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
I mean, if like I don't, I can't prove that
he's not, no, exactly, but I have faith that he's not.
But if I felt like I needed proof, then I
would be going through his stuff, you know, I'd be like.
Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
Yeah, checking his phone to see if he's cheating on me.
You know, like that's.
Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
That's a really good example.
Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's that's the problem.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
It's there's nothing wrong with faith, and you don't need
everybody believes everybody has faith in something in their lives,
and that's okay. You just have to realize that it's
faith in that you don't need proof to have faith,
but you can't assert.
Speaker 1 (01:08:37):
It as truth. Yeah, that's the main difference. But yeah,
it was just a great line.
Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
It would.
Speaker 4 (01:08:44):
Yeah, I'm glad they gave a moment like that.
Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
Yeah for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
So Carolyn Darryl make it into the car and Ashes
isn't looking so great, but I loved this.
Speaker 4 (01:08:57):
Carol is like.
Speaker 1 (01:08:59):
Carol's like, don't worry, We're.
Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
Gonna get you out of here, and Ash says, I'm
gonna get you out.
Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Like, no, no, I'm gonna do. I'm the man. I'm
gonna see you.
Speaker 4 (01:09:15):
She's like, yeah, k.
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
Even C Street.
Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
Yeah, it's just she was the kind of sweet guy Ashes.
Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
Yeah, yeah, for sure, So Carol is.
Speaker 2 (01:09:31):
Carol continues to examine him, and she tells Daryl that
she only has one round and Darryl then finds a
case full of of serum arrows in the in the car,
and he very smart thinking he opens the sun roof and.
Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
At first, I was like, at first, I was like,
what the fuck is he doing?
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Why is he gonna why is he gonna turn these
like turn everything into super Walker? But no, he foun
owned like a couple that were further off in the
distance shot them with the serum and they took care
of all of the others.
Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
We didn't see it.
Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
It was so cool.
Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
It was such a cool scene because it was just
you heard this just I mean, the sounds outside were
just ridiculous, and the car was drenched in blood.
Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
Just blocked our blood, blood blood on in the wind speed. Yeah,
and there's there's a little moment where.
Speaker 4 (01:10:32):
It cuts inside the car on Donald sitting in the
box seat and she's in the front.
Speaker 3 (01:10:39):
It's like he's dunk because you're just looking at Donald
like and.
Speaker 4 (01:10:42):
Your bunishing some background acting because it wasn't part of
the scene. He's just like looking at Dala like what yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
So yeah, it's uh, everything kind of quiets down for
a second, and then suddenly the car shakes and the
two super Walkers bust in through the windows.
Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
But they they uh, you know, they take they take.
Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
Him out and Ash asks where Sophia and Carol just says,
let's let's get you out of here, and the UH,
the three of them leave the car. They're basically just
like stepping over walkers. I mean, it's just.
Speaker 4 (01:11:33):
Thanks to this giant can take step, you can barely
stand and.
Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
He has to like step over to people.
Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
Yeah, it's like it's like a walker flood. Basically.
Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
They get back to Ash's little hideout and Carol make
sure he's okay, and then Darryl pulls her aside to
talk to her, and they go and sit down in
the UH in the bleachers, and and he tells her
that he thinks that she should tell him the truth,
and she says that she just wants him to get
(01:12:06):
healthy before she breaks his heart. And Darah asks her,
why didn't she just lie about something else, and she
said she had to be convincing, so she made up
something that she wished was true. And also he lost
his son, which it was a really it was an
(01:12:28):
interesting moment because it's like, I mean, it shows you
right there how much Daryl means to her, Like if
she could equate, like put him on the same level
as her daughter in order to be convincing.
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
Yes, you know, and it also shows you.
Speaker 4 (01:12:51):
I remember when we going back to season four when
Carol killed Carolyn David at the prison and people were
going the audience. People were like, oh, Daryl's.
Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
Going to be furious, and Das and I were like, no, no,
he's not.
Speaker 4 (01:13:07):
He's going to totally get it, and you know, he
did and everything Carol has done, you know, he understands
you may not agree with her, but he completely understands
and accepts it. And that's the same even though he's like, well,
explain it to me. He's not mad at her, he's
not judging her. He just wants to understand why she
did it. And it's desperation, you know, just how desperate
(01:13:31):
she was to get to him, that she would use
this pain that she has to connect with with Ash
to get him to go. That was the level of desperation.
Speaker 1 (01:13:42):
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
And you know, and it's it's kind of heartbreaking too
because it's like you think, you know, you realize. I mean,
she's making it clear just how much he means to her,
and she did all this to get out there, and
you know, and he's like he's got this whole, this
whole life.
Speaker 3 (01:14:01):
In France, and he wasn't maybe not going to bother
coming home. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:14:08):
Oh it's heartbreaking and I hope that they talk about
it some more. I have to say this scene also
myself and there's another cardler who are big fans of
Ted Lasso or we're big fans of Ted Lasso until
the last episode, which was awful, And there was a
scene in that in which Ted and Rebecca the male
(01:14:30):
and female leagues, are sitting in seats and bleachers exactly
like this, and they have a conversation where she's begging
him to see and he says no. So we had
some deep flashbacks and this is going.
Speaker 3 (01:14:44):
To be really painful. I must showrunners do this to us.
Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
Yeah exactly, but so yeah, Darryl tells her to go
get him ready to fly and he'll go find some
fuel and he kind of gives her like a little
affectionate squeeze on the on the knee and ye. Darryl
then goes back to the Demi moomt to talk to
(01:15:12):
Anna Valerie and she leads him over to Laurent and
Cadrone and and you know, Darryl's immediately like, why, why
the fuck are you here? And Jerone tells him that
Lussan came to the camp and has some of Janey's
people with with him, so he brought Laurath there and
(01:15:34):
so Darryl thanks him and he tells he tells Anna
that he needs her help, and they walk off together and.
Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
She tells him that she can get him the fuel
that he needs.
Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
She then tells a guy named Max to load him
up with as much ethanol as as he can carry,
and she's she's very much in charge here, and Darryl
tells him that he's taking Darryl tells her that he's
taking Laurent to the US, and one of the greatest lines,
(01:16:11):
like for anything, yes, and it says there will be
another Jene before long. At least you guys don't fall
for fascists.
Speaker 3 (01:16:25):
I love it, I love it, I love it.
Speaker 4 (01:16:29):
It's it's a die France is a digabite certain American president.
Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
It was so great, so great. So yeah, they take
off and Carol is back with Ash, and he says,
I take it she's not coming and asks her if
she wants to talk about it, and Carol starts crying,
(01:16:58):
crying and apologizing to him, and Ash said, you know,
it's so easy to blame ourselves. And while she was gone,
he kept thinking about how the trip helped him get
past the guilt that he was carrying about Abby and
forced him to live again. And you know, he tells
her that she did that for him, and he's only
sorry that it didn't end better for her, and it's
(01:17:21):
just like, oh God, that had to be a knife
in the heart for Carol.
Speaker 4 (01:17:26):
Yeah, it's interesting because I think that maybe Carol hasn't
realized that that's what she's done for herself as well. Yeah,
you know, she's she said to in that first episode,
she was stuck and she couldn't keep on feeling stuck.
She had to do something, and so she did. She's
(01:17:46):
moved forward and she's she's you know, she's trying to
live again.
Speaker 3 (01:17:50):
And that's what she talked to d d about. Dede
was telling her, you have to find reasons to live and.
Speaker 4 (01:17:56):
You have to find happiness. So I really like, but
I hope that Kyle is realizing that that that's that's
what she's doing.
Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
Is yeah, to move forward to live again for herse.
Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
Yeah, I hope.
Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
So back at the Dummymont, Darryl is arguing with Laurent
about him going to the US and he's Larnt wants
to stay at camp, but Darryl tells him it's not
safe there, and Laurent says that flu will find a
new place and he's got friends there, and Darryl's like
(01:18:33):
getting really upset. Yes, like he's really attached to this kid,
and you know, he's like, you, you'll make new friends.
There are kids there, I'm there, Carol's there, and but
he says he he can't go because everyone he loves
dies and he doesn't want Daryld to die.
Speaker 4 (01:18:54):
That was really sad. Yeah, I think you'll find Laura there.
Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
It was all Donald's fault. But that's okay. Everybody died
because of Donald. Love you, but that's.
Speaker 2 (01:19:10):
Yeah, but uh, you know we we we then like
there's a bunch of noise and commotion and we see
that sang has has entered the club and.
Speaker 1 (01:19:24):
Cracked me up.
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
There was a guy trying to get up the stairs
and like one of the show girls was just like
blacking his way, like putt her leg up all sexy.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
This is the strong thumb. So she's just like I'll
just shimmy.
Speaker 1 (01:19:40):
It was so funny. I loved it. But where was
I yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
So Lisang storms into Anna's office and and.
Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
She's like, oh, you must be the Hope guy.
Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
And well, Sang demands to know where they are Darryl
and Laurent, and she says they they basically disappeared just
into then suddenly finds a passageway through the catacombs behind
one of the paintings. I don't know how she spotted this.
I didn't really cut There was.
Speaker 4 (01:20:16):
A fringe on the one of the lamps and it
was moving with wind, so she hand up and felt
that there was there was a draft coming around one
of the paintings.
Speaker 1 (01:20:26):
Okay, gotcha.
Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
So Darryl and uh, Darryl and Caderne and Laurent have
have already made it into the catacombs and they hear
Lasang's crew and they split up, and then la Sang's
group basically does the same, and then Darryl tells Darryl
drags Lauran over to like a mausoleum and tells him
(01:20:52):
to hide there and and turn off the flashlight and
promises them that he'll be back and one but.
Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
He said when Laden is like what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (01:21:06):
And I was like, whend if not? Well, yes, Isabelle
always came back until she didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:21:13):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
Exactly, but uh, one of La Sang's guy shoots and
knocks over a bunch of skulls, which which kind of
made me laugh. Could your own gets the jump on
one of those, says guys, and then you know there's
more gunshots, and uh, could your own shoots the scientist
dude and then comes face to face with Sinda. Well,
(01:21:41):
Darryl faces off with La Sang, which I like, I
hate what I hate when this happens. It's like it's
just so cheesy. You know, it's like the main eyes
against each other and then the number two is against
each other.
Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:21:53):
It's Yeah, I'm not a fan.
Speaker 4 (01:21:56):
No, I'm not fun. I said in them that you
know when I was right to this up. I can't
forget this whole scene existed.
Speaker 3 (01:22:04):
Because I'm just like blah blah blah. They fight whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
Pretty much, but just like just Control is such a
bad ass, like just grabs him in the shoulder and
just like fairly reacting just pulls it up.
Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
He was like the terminor and then he just like
picks her up and throws.
Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
Her like she weighed about two pounds. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:22:34):
And uh somehow I was saying, is just kicking Darryl's ass, yes,
which makes no sense to me. But he but of course,
of course a tied up guy got the John Bon
Darrel last season.
Speaker 9 (01:22:50):
Yeah the kids, so you know Donald, Yeah but yeah
he but Darryl manages to knock him out and then
he bashed.
Speaker 1 (01:23:03):
His skull in with a skull.
Speaker 3 (01:23:06):
The shot of.
Speaker 4 (01:23:08):
The skulls the bloody skull beside Lasan's bodies do walks away.
Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
I was like, that meant to be symbolic of something.
Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
I'm not understanding the symbolism, but okay, that looks very nice.
Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
So yay, Jed, yay.
Speaker 3 (01:23:26):
We just have to really love Joel. Joel he was
awesome the rule and even though.
Speaker 4 (01:23:33):
Even though Kelly from the start was bad, yes he was,
he was very good.
Speaker 3 (01:23:39):
At doing that kind of charismatic leader kind of thing.
Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
Yeah yeah, and it wasn't it had nothing to do
with his acting, because I made that determination before he
was even on the screen.
Speaker 1 (01:23:50):
Yeah he was really he was really good.
Speaker 4 (01:23:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23:53):
I enjoyed his performance quite a bit.
Speaker 4 (01:23:55):
And he's great on social media. He's very interactive and
cool guy.
Speaker 1 (01:24:00):
Yeah yeah, definitely, but where was I? Okay?
Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
Yeah, So Daryl goes back to get Laurent, and then
Caderne finds them and leads them out, and then we
see that Santa is still alive. We see Carol cleaning
up the plane when Ash wakes up and comes out
to help her and makes this comment about the student
being the master, and she tells him that she really
(01:24:29):
appreciates him making the trip for her and she's glad
that he felt it was worth it, but she lied,
and she tells him that she came there to look
for Daryl, and Sophia died twelve years ago, and it's
like she never went away and she never let her
go because she blamed herself and she met him and
(01:24:53):
saw that same thing in him as well. So she
told him what she needed you to convince him to help.
And Ash is just furious.
Speaker 4 (01:25:03):
Yeah. This scene was just painful, I mean in the
way you know what I mean. It was made to
be peenful.
Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
Yeah, yeah, exactly, and in this time, this time he
actually like, this time, he actually has reason to be
mad at her, whereas last time he was mad at
her it made absolutely no sense. But uh, yeah, Ash
is just furious, and you know, he says she was
using her dead daughter to manipulate him and what kind
(01:25:32):
of person does that?
Speaker 1 (01:25:33):
And she says, a really desperate one. I'm sorry, sad.
Speaker 3 (01:25:38):
My question would be why why did you know? He
never asks that in this conversation.
Speaker 4 (01:25:44):
I feel like he's mud and he's focusing on this
one part, but at the end of it, I'd be going, Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
So why Yeah, yes, we're establishing you.
Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
Mind, but why because like that's how desperate you were,
like the equivalent of your daughter.
Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
Yeah, that's that's My question would be why him?
Speaker 4 (01:26:03):
Why Daryl?
Speaker 3 (01:26:03):
Why does it mark you that much to come here?
Because the dude's fine and he can clearly handle himself.
Speaker 1 (01:26:09):
So yeah, yeah, I would be wondering that too.
Speaker 2 (01:26:15):
And yeah, he says that every moment of bonding and
comfort between them was just all meaningless sad, and he's
just he's furious and just walks off, and we see
Darryl and Laurent leaving the Demimon and Darryl Darryl shakes
(01:26:35):
Cadern's hand and thanks him, and Anna tells Laurent He's
always welcome at the Demimon.
Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
When you want to come and see some show Girls.
Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
Oh my gosh, and that Lauratt tells Daryl that he's
not going with him because he really likes the demimon
and he he's gonna want to.
Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
Keep going back.
Speaker 3 (01:27:05):
His new career, sire.
Speaker 1 (01:27:12):
But yeah, he tells him he's not going with him.
Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
And Daryl basically tells Lauren that he's he's got to
let go of the things that scare him and not
let anybody else make up his mind for him, and
that he's got to make up his own mind, and.
Speaker 1 (01:27:30):
That he was so cute.
Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
Laurata just gives this big smile and he says, Okay,
it was really adorable.
Speaker 4 (01:27:37):
I wondered as well, if this is again connecting back
to Darryl. You know a lot of the things Darryl
and Carol you're like saying, and you take that advice
to like, you know, I wondered if that's what Dara
was trying to do with Isabelle. You're letting those things
that scare him. If he was like the idea of
(01:27:58):
romantic love and family kind of thing is scary to
him and he's always kept away because it's too painful
and it could hurt too much, and that that was
what that was what his experimentation was, because he was
experimenting and lifting go of that fear and then died away.
Speaker 3 (01:28:15):
So it didn't go well. But yeah, well gone for trying,
Donald exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:28:23):
But yeah, So they drive off and they arrive at
the plane and Darryl asks Carol how her talk with Ashwyn.
Speaker 1 (01:28:31):
She said not so good, and uh, Ash comes out and.
Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
Looks at Darryl AND's like, looks at Laurent and it's like,
who's this And Larron introduces himself and Darryl turns to Laurent,
so Ash is.
Speaker 1 (01:28:46):
The one that's flying his home.
Speaker 2 (01:28:48):
And Ash then has to deliver the news that well,
we're this plane is never leaving the ground.
Speaker 1 (01:28:56):
With all four of us Paris.
Speaker 4 (01:28:59):
We have a problem most traumatic Cliff Hunger ever.
Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
Ago is Carol about to be turned into super walker?
This is we get. We can't carry four people at
a plane. Let's do the math.
Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
Let's lay us all and we all wait and then
do one of those math problems, which two people can
you fit in the plane?
Speaker 2 (01:29:23):
Yeah, yeah, exactly, Yeah, But it was funny though, because
you know it was a practical problem.
Speaker 3 (01:29:30):
Which yes it was, yeah exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:29:32):
Yeah, they don't you know, we don't see enough of
I think.
Speaker 4 (01:29:35):
No, I agree, And there was there was that in
the when Laurent and Ash meats and ashes very stand
offish and closed off and suspicious whatever. And of course
Laurent is so open emotionally and he just goes up
double like I'm so excited I've ever been his plane,
And you can then see the flashing neon sign above
(01:29:56):
the two of them, like there's a connect. There's a
man without a son and there's a boy without a boy.
Dad doesn't really really want to be his father, you know, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:30:10):
Yeah, exactly, Yeah, kind of see where it's where it's
going there.
Speaker 1 (01:30:16):
Yeah, but yeah, I mean I really I really liked
this episode. It kind of had like it had a
little bit of everything, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:30:25):
Yeah, yeah, I liked the as to say, there there
there was a bit of a more focused on Cadron,
who we love, and a bit of Fulu you know,
these other characters that have kind of that.
Speaker 3 (01:30:38):
We could have had a lot lot more screen time.
We could have had a lot more scream.
Speaker 4 (01:30:42):
Time with Cadron and find out.
Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
I mean, we know nothing about full and I want
to know all about.
Speaker 2 (01:30:48):
Him, so I know, I'm Yeah, it's I. I really
like him. He's one of I mean, he's he's one
of my favorite characters from uh in the Walking Down
universe that's been introduced to several layers.
Speaker 4 (01:31:03):
So he's just so great and.
Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
I'm glad he got such a great moment. Yeah, Eric, Ericperray,
is that his last thing?
Speaker 4 (01:31:12):
Yeah, he's so good.
Speaker 1 (01:31:14):
He's just so good in the show.
Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
He's so much praise and so you know, he doesn't
have to say much. He just yea is so.
Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
Powerful and a praise and so on screen, and he
just seems and then when you seem being interviewed, just
so smiley and you really sweet guy seems to be
that's always nice.
Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
Yeah, yeah, it's uh. The one that you know talking
about that, the one that cracks me up is Romaine,
who plays his Cadrone is just so like he's just
so stoic. Yes, and Romaine is not like that at all.
Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
Romayne is the.
Speaker 4 (01:31:54):
Biggest Carol and Darylson boy ever. He's so excited to
buy them. But I love the what it was really cute.
It's so weird to see him with Air.
Speaker 3 (01:32:03):
I was like, who's that for me?
Speaker 2 (01:32:08):
Yeah, he's just he's He's like, he's just a big goofball.
Speaker 1 (01:32:11):
It's it's kind of funny.
Speaker 4 (01:32:13):
I mean, I'm glad they had this, you know, the
Carol tell Ash herself and it wasn't forced out.
Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
You know, I'm glad they had her make.
Speaker 4 (01:32:23):
The decision to tell him, and because obviously it was
going to come out at some point, and she would
have known that she would have to tell him at
some point.
Speaker 3 (01:32:33):
I suppose she could have kept the lie up and
just said, no, I didn't find Sophia, but here's a guy,
here's a guy of it. But yeah, I'm glad it
was dealt with and it was your.
Speaker 4 (01:32:45):
Ash's response was totally reasonable. Although he does start sort
he picks up a wrench and starts hitting things, which
was a bit like, oh, that would set Carol off,
you know, from her her past with with edge.
Speaker 3 (01:32:57):
Seeing a guy get angry like that.
Speaker 4 (01:32:59):
He wasn't doing it, Caroly, He's pointing away from it,
but you know, seeing someone get get uncontrolled like that
with anger would be really upsetting for her. But she
she deals with all just very calmly.
Speaker 1 (01:33:12):
And yeah, yeah for sure. So who's getting your suspenders?
And Angel?
Speaker 4 (01:33:20):
Okay, well, I mean come on, there's the only one
choice for for angel Wings, and that's that's well, no,
that's not true. I was going to say for Lou
But you know what, I'm going to change that. I'm
going to give it to Cadron because that the way
that when Thesan comes into the town and Caudron leaps
into action, gets Lauren out there, and he's got a spade,
(01:33:40):
he's ready to, you know, give his life for Lauren,
and that is such a turnaround. Flu has always been awesome,
but to see Caudron turn around like that, and you know,
the Walking Dead has a terrible, terrible habit of all
the big.
Speaker 3 (01:33:55):
Bads will show a tiny bit of humanity right at
the end and then.
Speaker 4 (01:33:59):
They'll get killed. So I really like that they're having
a bad guy change to a good guy and keep
him around for a while.
Speaker 3 (01:34:08):
And that's I think that's that's good.
Speaker 4 (01:34:10):
So I'm giving Padron my angel Wings, my uh suspenders,
which mentioned in one of the interviews last week when
when Melissa was asked about Carol's opinions about darnld change
and she's like, I know you're this different guy, and
Norman went, he's waiting suspender.
Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
Yes, So you've knowed just that weird.
Speaker 4 (01:34:40):
I think I'm going to give them to Jacintha because.
Speaker 3 (01:34:48):
She is the She's like the evil voice in Lussan's ear.
Speaker 4 (01:34:53):
You know, she's been pushing them along to to do
more and do more. And even though she got real
hiding from from Kadrol, uh, you know, she's still alive.
So she's the evil that continues. So I'm giving it
to What about you.
Speaker 2 (01:35:13):
I am uh yeah, I'm gonna agree with you on
the angel wings and and give it to Cadrone because
he was he really was kind of the m v P. Yeah,
my suspenders, I'm given to my buddy lassaying.
Speaker 1 (01:35:30):
It's the last time I could give him. I can
give them suspenders.
Speaker 3 (01:35:34):
True, yes, but I mean yeah, he was.
Speaker 1 (01:35:38):
He was very suspended in this.
Speaker 4 (01:35:41):
But he's kind of the opposite some suspenders because he
was weak, weak willed and and you know, manipulated into
putting his his faith into a terrible so Boola song.
Speaker 2 (01:35:54):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah, we Joel will miss you.
We will not.
Speaker 1 (01:36:06):
See never. But yeah, what what did you? What did
you think of this episode? Overall?
Speaker 4 (01:36:14):
Like I think, having waunched it a few times now,
I was a bit kind of it's always happens when
you're just when you're getting to the end.
Speaker 3 (01:36:23):
Is that there?
Speaker 4 (01:36:25):
And and they've done it particularly in an odd way
this this season is that last week's etal felt like
a rally, and so this one kind of to me
falls a bit flat in between four and six. But
we're getting a lot of this necessary what movement, you know,
(01:36:45):
we have to get Okay, let's tie up Lasang's story,
Let's tie up let's you know, the demi mode. Let's
introduce the fact that Laurent is going to you know,
flat back, and let's tie up Carol's lie. That's so
a lot of things are tied up now because we
(01:37:06):
don't have Isabelle, we don't have Jenny, we don't have the.
Speaker 3 (01:37:09):
Song Carol's lies dealt with. So you're like, well, what
what's left to deal with? What's going to happen in
the next episode because we've.
Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
Kind of Lauren's going to try to sneak off back
to the Demimond. I like Anna Valerie a lot too.
I think she's a great character.
Speaker 3 (01:37:35):
She is, yeah, and I think that's very realistic.
Speaker 4 (01:37:38):
You know that there will be always be someone and
what she said you know, there will always be another journey.
Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
Because she is one of them.
Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
She saw the gap when Quinn was then she went, right,
I would have fit in here and then take control
of this.
Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
So yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, She's just she's a really
interesting character. She's she's a lot of fun. Yeah, but
uh yeah, I mean four was is definitely my favorite
episode of this of the season. But uh yeah, do
we do we have any like, do we have any
news or anything that's that's come out recently about I
(01:38:14):
don't that season three.
Speaker 4 (01:38:15):
I don't think they've been filming in a desert and
Norman posted a picture of himself with deeply chaplets, so
I'm wondering if Darryl at least or but Daryl and
Carol are stuck in the desert someplace and bit of dehydration.
So yeah, so we don't know they're going to be filming.
(01:38:37):
And they were filming along some train tracks, so they're
going to be filming there in the next few days,
I think.
Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
So I think they're.
Speaker 4 (01:38:44):
Filming for another month or so. Okay, but yeah, and
there was you know, there's still lots of little interviews
coming out from last weekend from Peely Fest and and
your comic Con. They do a lot of press surrounding that,
and people dropped their interviews. Later said there was the
one from screen ranking SDA. So there's always a chance
(01:39:07):
of it, but you know, there is the same things.
They're basically saying, the same things that that Darryl.
Speaker 3 (01:39:13):
Was experimenting is a bell and Carol's like, I don't
know who you are.
Speaker 4 (01:39:20):
And they've done a lot of talking about the reunion
and that it felt like it was, like Norman said,
you know, the whole the whole world stopped, the sound stopped,
everybody feeded away. It was just these two people in
the world. The one thing I will say that I
don't think we talked about this, or maybe we did,
I can't remember last week is that Scott Gimpole said
(01:39:41):
at faily Fest.
Speaker 3 (01:39:43):
Yeah, no, we didn't say tough for this that they
deliberately wade Daryl out of character.
Speaker 4 (01:39:49):
So you know that's that's interesting. Yeah, five for five
for five five? Why would you do that?
Speaker 2 (01:39:58):
Yeah, doesn't It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.
Speaker 4 (01:40:02):
No, the phantom falls in love with this character and
they go, you know what, let's make him drop all
the character traits that they fell in love with, because.
Speaker 3 (01:40:11):
That'll be interesting and make it refreshing.
Speaker 4 (01:40:12):
No, it just makes us not like.
Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 4 (01:40:17):
It wasn't bad writing it with deliberate writing.
Speaker 1 (01:40:19):
Yeah. Yeah. Very strange, very strange.
Speaker 4 (01:40:23):
Yeah, we can talk about that kind of stuff more
next week once the finale, you know, we can talk
about the season as a whole.
Speaker 1 (01:40:29):
Kind Yeah, for sure.
