Speaker 7 (02:29):
Good morning, Dave, good to be here.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
Thank you for being our saw on the socials that
you and the lovely Jessica were at the big reveal party.
I think last night over at rock City and Dancing
with the Stars look like a good time.
Speaker 7 (02:41):
It was a good time, very crowded space. We were
there to support a couple people that we know that
are in the contestants whatever you call that, like, what
do you call that? Like the dancers, let's just say
the dancers. So we knew if you testants the contestants.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:02):
Yeah, obviously I don't dance. I don't dance in a
non game shows, so I don't know the technical terms.
But but yeah, it was a good time, great event,
and of course it was giving Tuesday. I know people
that pay to get in there. The proceeds are splewed
up between all the dancers and of course the contestants
all raise money over this time period meet certain goals, uh,
(03:23):
and they get money from friends and family and organizations
and businesses, deals and.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Again Market's going to join us to talk about that
a little bit later on. It's become one of those
big events. But you know in Charleston that everybody if
they're not if they're not taking part in it, they're
there or they're supporting their favorite couple and the reveal
party to sell last night. As to who's going to
be doing that, it's not to Market.
Speaker 7 (03:43):
O'Neil is one of the most important organizations. One of
the most important organizations certainly in the state. Of course,
there's multiple different United Ways across the state. They operate
two on one. They were pivotal during the snap crisis
and helping two direct resources. So they need all the
help we can.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
Get the It seems to me, Steven, just an opinion
here that we have spent way too much time, energy,
and effort of the last couple of years talking about
vaccinations in West Virginia, Okay, And what I mean by
that is is that it just I mean, and look,
it's prickly, well it is, but it's you know, I'm
(04:20):
a person that always thinks, hey, look we can always
look at things. We don't have to say, well, this
is the way we've always done it. We can always
you know, keep a constant eye on things. But it
just seems to me, as you and I I'm you know,
a little bit older than you, but it just seems
to me that there was not a lot of talk
about vaccinations and all of a sudden it comes up
again and it's been you know, West Virginia's made national
news on a couple of fronts, one because of the
(04:45):
success rate that we've had with Keith over the years
keeping down childhood illnesses. And it just seems to me,
and look, they may have a reason for that. I've
interviewed a lot of the folks on the show that
want to scale some of these back. I understand that,
but it just seems to me like now we're kind
of reversing a lot of those. And there was a
decision yesterday and you write about it, Brad and everybody
(05:07):
else wrote about it to what happened yesterday Raleigh County.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
Oh yeah, well really what happened here in charge of Charlee?
Speaker 5 (05:13):
So yeah, our.
Speaker 7 (05:14):
West Virginia Supreme Court issued a stay of Raley County
Judge Frobul's decision from last week, which granted a full,
permanent injunction against the State Board of Education County Board
of Education in Rawley County from blocking them from accepting
religious vaccine exceptions have been granted by the State Department
(05:37):
of Health per Governor Morrissey's executive order from last January.
It's a pretty big deal. It seems like you can't
really predict a lot of times how the Supreme Court's
going to go depending on a stay, but you can
infer some things. And the fact that they're issuing a
stay at this point, which I think there's been motions
(05:59):
for stays before, right, but I think in this case
it finally they said yes to a stay because I
think they had all the information they were going to
have now that there's a full written order out from
Judge Trobell. The other interesting thing about this also is
he had Judge Trouble had put together a class action
which roped in all of the more than five hundred
(06:20):
and seventy religious vaccine exemptions granted across the state, unless
those cases are like situations that are already before another
sert of court judge that was roped into his order.
But this stay from the Supreme Court basically means that
all those five hundred and seventy religious exceptions school systems
don't have to accept them until ultimately this is adjudicated
(06:42):
and decided by the Supreme Court, probably sometime in the
middle of next year.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
And if you want to read the actual state it's
length and Brad's story at the Website's the lead story
this morning at wv Metronews dot com state to school
board President Paul Hardesty, who's been at the center of
a lot of this. And you know Paul Paul, he
never never backs down for any names. He says what's
on his mind. He is is quoted in this because
(07:06):
but I think he was a little happy with this because, Okay,
now we're getting somewhere to getting it's settled. Is that
is that a fair assertion?
Speaker 7 (07:13):
I think so this has been a long ways coming
because I mean the first lawsuit which was filed by
a Raley County parent, there was some other parents down
there that joined her lawsuit initially. That's back in June.
We had a preliminary junction issued in July by Judge Frobell,
which is the first thing that was appealed to the
Western Chin Supreme Court. And then we didn't even get
(07:34):
like the cases in regards the hearings rather in regards
to the permanent injunction until September October, and then we
just got Judge Frobel's rolling last week, the day before Thanksgiving.
So this has been a long time coming. And there's
been confusion with your schools about whether you accept a
religious exception, whether you don't accept a religious exception, if
(07:57):
you follow the governor's executive order, what do you call
follow the state Departments of Educations directive to not accept
these exemptions. I mean, there's just been confusion. So at
least this is definitive stating that these exemptions don't have
to be accepted by a school system, and then we'll
have to just figure out what the final ruling is
(08:17):
by the Supreme Court. I'm assuming there'll be oral arguments
at some point scheduled and all that, but all that's
probably going to be until next year.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Okay, that's going to be next year. And here we are.
We started this battle, you know, some time ago, as
you noted. Here we are, you know, on December the third,
and still I mean, we're making progress, I guess, but
we're still in a holding pattern of this thing.
Speaker 7 (08:40):
Well, I do think a lot. You know, there's some
initial deadline set in the preliminary injunction appeal by the
State Supreme Court, and I think they all had to
have all their documents and everything submitted by I think
at some point in February. And why that far ahead, Well,
I have a theory on that. And the theory is
I do think that everybody, Supreme Court, the governor, school systems,
(09:02):
I think they all want the legislature to take another
crack at this one way or the other. It's state
definitively whether religious vaccine exemption should be put in the
compulsory vaccine law or not. Now the legislature said no.
Last year, state said said yes. House of Delegates after
a long debate and a lot of thought said no,
(09:23):
there's pressure to get them to do this again this
legislative session, and they might very well do it. I mean,
the governor and supporters of religious vaccine exemptions are right
to say forty five other states have some former religious exemption.
So maybe the legislature tries to follow the lead of
one of those states that allows for that, but also
(09:45):
have some guardrails put into it, and they do something
like that. I don't know, but I think people want
the legislature to just settle this and be done with it.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
Talking again with Stephen Allen Adams of Ogden Newspapers, of
course we're now switching gears for a little bit. See
we're less than a week away a week passed from
the death of GUARD specialist Beckstrom, and of course staff
started angel Wolf continues to fight for his life. Hopy
wrote in his commentary about the role of the GUARD
in DC in the first place, and it was interesting
to me that the State Democratic Party we had delegate
(10:18):
and state Party Chair Mike Pushkin, as well as Republican
Party Chair Josh Holsteing, both on Metro News Midday yesterday.
But it seemed to me going back to the Democrats
for a moment that it's just odd that the State
Democratic Party chose to repost Hoppy's commentary. I didn't see
that coming. Your take on this whole.
Speaker 7 (10:36):
Thing though, Yeah, of course, you know. I was at
the press conference Monday with the Governor and General Seward
of the National Guard. First press conference. I should point out,
since this whole thing started the last Wednesday, I mean,
there had been no press conferences with West Virginia press
or spent a lot of press releases, including wrong information
in press releases. There's been video messages, there have been
(10:58):
social media posts, and we've seen the governor and others
go to national cable news, but we've not had the
ability to ask questions. And I asked specifically questions about
the emphasis on the volunteer part list because again, the
one hundred and seventy people Guards members that are in
d C Firm and West Virginian National Guard are volunteers.
(11:22):
But they're volunteers because they were authorized to be there
as volunteers by Governor Morrissey. And one of the things
I wanted to make sure of, and Hobby brings us
up in his column is talking about you know, taking responsibility.
I want to make sure governor said explicitly he did that,
and the Governor's credit he did. But in regards to
what they were doing in DC, there's a good question
(11:43):
about what it is. I mean, the Governor's office really
didn't like Pushkin in his statements stating that they were
doing beautification or that sort of thing. Though the Pushkin's defense,
he's trying to find out what they were doing. So
if our National Guard weren't doing landscaping and mulching, you know,
on them all, and that's wonderful, but what were they doing.
The only thing we've heard really described as these roving
(12:06):
presence patrols is what they've described them as. What does
that mean? And we don't really know well, And.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
Again it goes back to the fundamental differences steven as.
Everybody sees things in different ways. And we had a
text of the show yesterday from somebody who has family.
I think the textas said it was their daughter or
and I may be wrong about that, but said that
they live in d C. And and that a lot
of people don't want them there. But then there are
others that are going to say, absolutely, we want them here.
(12:35):
Regardless of of anything they went and uh, and I
think that both staff Sergeant Wolfe and Guard Specials Sarah
Becksterrom are to be committed for that and they both
sound like in in interviewing people that knew them and
what are there It just seems to me that that
(12:55):
they both were quality human beings, one of whom's life
was ended and the other one's fighting for his life.
Speaker 7 (12:59):
Is we speak, we could be proud of our National Guard.
I think they've stepped up as they always have through emergencies,
through whatever we've asked them to do, overseas deployments, and
now what they've done washing in d C. And by
all accounts they've they've been honorable in their service in DC.
Speaker 5 (13:17):
On that's without you can say that.
Speaker 7 (13:19):
And I think you can also be critical of the leadership,
whether that's Governor Morrissey, whether that's General Seward, whether that's
Donald President Donald Trump, for why they were there and
what they were doing. Was it more of being seen
a political prop thing? You know, sure they were sworn
in as marshals, but were they following proper law enforcement
(13:44):
procedures and the things that they did? And it doesn't
take away from the bravery, uh, and the things that
they've done. Certainly the service and the life of specialist
specstrum for sure, but we do kind of need to
know these things in the circumstances because this is how
we also to protect our National Guard going forward, to
making sure that they're trained for certain situations, including an
(14:06):
ambush situation like that, which you can't really prepare for,
you know, when it happens, but there's things you can.
Speaker 5 (14:12):
Do, all right, quickly Interims this weekend.
Speaker 7 (14:15):
This weekend, we're not seeing a whole lot of agendas yet,
so I don't know what to expect. All I know is, boy,
there are a lot of fundraisers for various members of
the Republican House of Delegates between Sunday and Monday. Like,
if you're a lobbyist here in Charles, then you'd better
get out your checkbooks because there's a lot of fundraisers
this coming weekend, all.

boys and pink poster board for, girls and people can
nominate a danswer somebody they would like to see. Dance
the dancers have no. Idea their name is on our.
(18:56):
Wall and then From august till last night we match
up six, couples twelve. People we try to do a
really good job of getting different friend groups and different
occupations and different ages and try to make it as
really diverse of a group as we. Can and then
last night we reveal them they have five, months Tell
may the first to raise as much money as they
(19:17):
can for The Night, away and that would get them
The People's choice mirror. Ball and then there is also
a judge's, choice so that same time they're raising, money
they are learning one. Dance we assign them a. Choreographer
so none of the dancers are professional. Dancers they're all, amateurs,
volunteers you, know people who just want to do good
for The Night away and it's a super fun. Thing
(19:37):
it has weird little tentacles that reach out into the.
Community dress shops make some money because people go buy.

Dancer and you to, that you always say, WHAT i don't.
Speaker 12 (22:44):
CARE i don't.
Speaker 8 (22:45):
Care it's not why you were. Asked it's not why
you would be. Asked we asked for a lot of, reasons.
Right we asked because we think they're great community, leaders
and that they would be somebody who would understand The
United ways mission and, work and that they because they
literally wear our brand for five. Months we want to
make sure you know that they're out there for the right.
Reasons and then they Say i'm too, busy to WHICH
i also, REPLY i don't. Care everybody's.
Speaker 4 (23:07):

(24:13):
THAT eedu for. Details Bridge Valley committee Of Technical. College
your career starts. Here what kind of fundraisers do they?
DO i, MEAN i know they do BECAUSE i knew
a good friend of mine participated a couple of years
ago and he had like a bourbon tasting kind of an.
Event so what are some of the fundraisers over the
years that people have.
Speaker 8 (24:29):
Done it's really really. Creative so this Coming sunday is
an event With santa for. Kids Santa's workshop is going
to be At Rock city That jackline and her partner are.
DOING i suspect there'll be some sports related. Things so
some couples do a Super bowl square thing that you,
can you, know buy square and if your team gets
in that, square you could win some. Money we see
that with the final. Four we had A master's party
(24:50):
last year that was super. Fun that was the weekend
before The masters and it was very golf. Themed there
are often bourbon. Tastings sometimes they're just parties where they
invite their. FRIENDS i think there'll be A christmas party
before the month is over where people will pay a
little bit to come to a Friends christmas party and
those proceeds will come back to the unit. Away so
they get very creative and they really it brings their own, personality,
(25:13):
right stuff they like to do and they turn that
into a. Fundraiser so we've seen. Everything paint. Parties last
year there was A Redneck, riviera which was. Nice the
first TIME i have got to wear my pajamas to an,
event which was super. Fun usually it's, heels so it's you,
know it's a little bit of. Everything Pink Pony party
last year based around that. Song the dangers get really,
creative but we just remind everybody it's all for the
(25:36):
good of the.
Speaker 13 (25:36):
Cause.
Speaker 8 (25:37):
Right people often think or say to, me, oh it's
such a you, know it's a gala and you get
to do this and you get to do.
Speaker 7 (25:43):
That this is a means to the.
Speaker 14 (25:44):
End you.
Speaker 8 (25:45):
Know when we raised over four hundred thousand dollars last,
year was our net proceeds from this event that allowed
us to do lots of good work in this community
and never in a year that we needed it more
with what we've just seen with the food. Crisis that
gave us a little bit of extra money that we
could get back out into the community and help the
pantries and help the. People so it is a fun,
event and we, love, love love that everybody participates and looks,
(26:06):
great but it's a means to the end of our
work and we really appreciate.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
This AND i think it's also we need to give
a shout out to the people that are that are
doing the, dancing because this is a this is a
lot of time and energy and what you generally see
in situations like, this no matter what the fundraising endeavor, Is,
margaret you know, this it's usually the people that have
the least amount of time that are the ones that
step up and, say, Yeah i'll do. This their calendars
(26:32):
are pretty much already full, anyway and you're talking about business,
leaders business owners in many, cases people that have you,
know may not have an extra two hours a day
between one and three am to do, something but they're
the ones that, say, Yeah i'll do, this.
Speaker 8 (26:46):
Yep and they value the work that we do and
they see the mission and so we love that. Part
and then you, know we really have gained long term
support from our dancers of the first four seasons AND
i said last, night the first four seasons here In
charleston for Our United ways raised over million. Dollars and
so if you think about that in terms of what
else could we do as a small staff to kind
of raise that extra. Money they literally are working for
(27:08):
us for five months and it is a big, endeavor
in a big, commitment and we don't we don't sugarcoat,
That we don't lie about.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
That, yeah we tell you or you tell them a
help of, times but.
Speaker 8 (27:15):
We absolutely support them one hundred. Percent our staff becomes
their support. Staff we help with tickets and you, know
all the design work on their logos and all the
things that they want their social media. Pages but what
makes it work for them is you all the community
do support. Them so you, know Like stephen was, Saying
i've already picked by, couple and sometimes people wait until
(27:35):
the night of and they vote for all six. Couples
but the voting piece is really the profit for, us
because it's literally a donation to the unit away in
the name of the couple that you love the most and,
so and you can vote for more than, one and
you can vote as often as you, want and it's
five dollars a.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
Vote there you, go and again all that money goes
to the tax, Deductible, yes tax. Deductible. Yeah it's a
music to a lot of people's. Ears all, right give
us the dates of everything he has now that the
revealed already has already happened, there and you're going to be,
seeing if you're on social, media you're going to be
seeing a lot of these couples are going to be
hitting you. Up we've got this event going, on to
that going you, know going. On but take us over
the next couple of. Months they're going to be be working.
(28:11):
Out they'll be they'll be.
Speaker 14 (28:14):
A.
Speaker 5 (28:14):
Dancer one time was actually a daughter of a friend
of mine who was a. DANCER i referred to as.
Practice she, said we. Rehearse we. Don't we don't call it.
Practice football players. Practice we.
Speaker 8 (28:23):
Rehearse and so they'll be rehearsing from now Until may the,
first which is the actual a lot of.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
Rehearsal five.
Speaker 8 (28:29):
Months they literally got almost exactly five months to make
it happen and get it. Done we'll be at the
beautiful you, Know Charleston coliseum and the actual dance, floor
and that makes it so much easier for. Us and
we love working with. Them they're a great, partner our ball.
Family you Saw sean in here a couple of weeks.
Ago continues to be the main, sponsor but we have
great People Huntington bank sponsors OF Vip party And wes
(28:51):
Virgin american sponsors Or West Virginia American Water sponts, sponsors
the red carpet. Sponsor so if you haven't ever, been
we do try to make it an, event you, know
and we have the date again from The may the First.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
May of course we'll have you on plenty of.
Speaker 8 (29:05):
Times social event of the.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
Season is it's turning into. THAT i mean some people
sold out.
Speaker 8 (29:10):
The last four years we've sold, out and so if
you're interested in a, ticket we encourage you to find a.
Speaker 5 (29:14):
Way to make that. Happen and can you get the tickets?
Speaker 8 (29:16):
Now a right sure can and tables are on sale.
Now front row tables are sold out after last, night
but we have second row. Tables all of our tables
seat ten, guests eighteen hundred for second, rows fifteen hundred
for third, rows and then fourth row and back are
one thousand, dollars so one hundred dollars a. Ticket basically
if you are coming as a couple or six, people
but we're going to make a table of ten for that.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
Event and that's all on your, website right.
Speaker 8 (29:40):

Charleston somber day for the city Of charleston for. Sure
Charcol police Chiefs Scott dempsey joins us now to talk about.
It good, Morning, Chief welcome to the Show Forry. Dave
how are. You i'm doing, Five thanks for being here
(34:00):
and thanks for joining us this. Morning you, Know, chief
it's very difficult to talk, ABOUT i, know but it is.
Worth it is worth not didn't Remembering Cassie johnson.
Speaker 18 (34:08):
Absolutely and thank you for the invitation today to talk About.
Cassie it's hard to believe it's been five years because
it seems like yesterday for many of, us and it
is a somber day for, us and we definitely reflect
on everything that had happened that. Day but we always
keep in mind though that she left a legacy behind
(34:30):
that was filled full of compassion and, kindness and so
we try to we try to keep that in mind
as we as we go through these tough, times and
that keeps us going and definitely keeps the family. Going
we stay in contact with them and we talk about
her spirit all the. Time so definitely somber, day but
(34:51):
we definitely keep her legacy in.
Speaker 5 (34:52):
Mind talk about the type Person Cassie johnson.
Speaker 18 (34:55):
Was she was a great, person very kind. Heart she
had a tremendous, heart always willing to, serve always willing
to just jump in and, help you, know even apart
from her dedication as a police, officer she started off
as a humane officer, obviously you, know with the, city
and then she felt such a drive to continue to
serve in different, ways and so she really dedicated herself
(35:18):
to The Charleston Police. Department but even apart from, that
just her kind spirit and her heart just just made
her a very special.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
Person and here's WHAT i AND i did not know
a patrol Officer johnson at, all BUT i will say
this WHAT i have learned in talking to folks from
your department and talking to. Her we interviewed her her
members of her family not long, ago And Metro new's
midday and talking to the mayor different, People Cassie. Johnson
from WHAT i have been able to, gather she was
(35:44):
a wonderful. Person if she never put on the, batch
no matter what she, did if she were working fast
food or, whatever she would still be that same person
that she.
Speaker 18 (35:53):
Was you are absolutely, correct AND i had the privilege
of knowing her in her humane officer role and their
police officer.
Speaker 15 (35:59):
Role.
Speaker 18 (36:00):
YEAH i couldn't agree with you. More she just always
a kind person and LIKE i, said always willing to
jump in and to serve help wherever she.
Speaker 7 (36:07):
Can.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
Uh talk about that, Day, CHIEF i know it. Was
it's difficult to talk, about but kind of kind of
take us through that.
Speaker 14 (36:13):
Day.
Speaker 18 (36:14):
Yeah, so LIKE i, SAID i still remember like it was,
yesterday AND i still remember getting that call and rushing
to the, scene rushing to the your chief deputy at the, time,
RIGHT i was deputy chief, time and of course we're
we're one of the very first calls you know that
that go, out and you, KNOW i still remember it
like it was, yesterday and my heart. Sunk and, unfortunately
in that type of, role you can't really grief because
(36:37):
you're so in tune to what you need to do
to take care of.
Speaker 5 (36:40):
Things And i've been told by first responders that grief comes. Later,
absolutely if you're doing your, job it's not it's not,
then but go, ahead.
Speaker 18 (36:48):
Absolutely and many of us were out for several. Days
we didn't even go, home and so that was. Tough
it was a very tough several days to get. Through
but we're very resilient and we're very a close knit
family here AT. Cpd so, uh just being with other
officers and other people you know that that shared the
(37:09):
same grief with, me it just made it a little
bit easier to get.
Speaker 5 (37:12):
Through so the, call IF i remember, correctly the calling
through that was parking somebody was it was it was
it was a complain about about. Parking that.
Speaker 18 (37:23):
Correct, yeah someone was just like kind of parked in
the middle of garrison and just a simple non one one.
Call but you, know it goes to show you that
nothing is routine that that we go. Through and During cassie's,
investigation she found the person that that did park it
legally in just planing or asked him to move and
things escalated very quickly from that.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
Point, yeah And Josha Joshua phillips was a, shooter later
convicted a second degree murder and sentenced to forty years in.
Prison AND i, Think, chief it says. Something i'm going
to try to say this the best most compassionate way
THAT i.
Speaker 19 (37:57):
Can.
Speaker 5 (37:58):
Uh her death came because he, fired, okay and then
she on Her and again bear with me out, here
on her way down she. Fired that is. Correct so
she even in her LAST i, mean of course she
passed a couple of days, later but even on her way,
(38:18):
down she was able to produce her her, weapon that is.
Speaker 18 (38:21):
Correct, yeah and her. Training anytime we're faced with situations like,
yeah we revert right to our. Training and that's how
she was, trained of. Course and, yeah and she was
able to at least, attempt you, know to save her
own life at that, point and not only her, life
but possibly other.
Speaker 5 (38:40):
Other people as. Well and AGAIN i, think AND i
heard you say that in a previous, interview The, chief
that there's nothing routine in the world of police. Work.
Uh AND i think that goes for all emergency, responders
no matter what there, are there's there's nothing. Routine and
if you look across the nation at people that have
tragically been killed Like Cassie johnson was a lot of
(39:03):
it didn't start out on what you see on, television you,
know like the Big hollywood production started out traffic stops
or like a speeding troll or a welfare check or
something like.
Speaker 18 (39:14):
That absolutely, right it's all. Senseless it's senseless. Violence it
definitely did not need to. Happen and you, know And
cassie is just part of a huge law enforcement family,
nationwide AND i think it speaks volumes that her sacrifice
is what officers do every day across the. Nation so you,
(39:35):
know her sacrifice five years ago is should definitely let
people know that we're out. Here we're here to serve
no matter of the, dangers and we stand between good and.
Evil and even though these tragedies, happen we still put
on the uniform and when we come out every day
and work.
Speaker 5 (39:51):
HARD i had you helped me facilitate an interview not long,
ago BECAUSE i know you guys were doing some recruiting
for The Charleston Police department trying to get to get
some new folks. IN i know all the law enforcement
agencies are in needed people right. Now i'm just kind
of curious when somebody applies to be an officer In,
charleston or let's just say that they're, hired and Is
Cassie johnson part of their? Training, now does her legacy
(40:14):
continue to just, say you, know we want to always
when we go out, there even though officer you may
not have known, her do they know her?
Speaker 18 (40:21):
Story, absolutely we definitely share that. Story and with any
tragedy that we've, had we try to share those. Stories
not to create a, somber you, know a somber attitude with,
them but to let them, know, hey this job is,
dangerous and, yes look at the legacy that they've left.
Behind here's what they stood. For they stood between good and,
(40:43):
evil and that's what we're asking you to. Do, so,
yes we definitely do. That we definitely get them familiar
with them and what they stood. For and also just
from an officer safety, standpoint we let them, know, hey
this is what to look, for this is what to
do in these. Situation so her legacy lives on through, that.
Speaker 5 (41:03):
And there's going to be COMMEMORATION i understand happening later.
Today talk about.
Speaker 18 (41:07):
Them, Yeah So cassie's, family her mother and her sister,
specifically we're wanting to purchase a, bench a memorial bench
to put beside of her, gravesite just as a memorial
people can come and relax and sit down and reflect
on What cassie stood for and her. Legacy of, course
and through various donations from, corporations from personal donations you,
(41:34):
know of, course we appreciate all of those on behalf
Of cheryl And chelsea her, family and they were able
to purchase this. Bench and, yes today that marks the
five year. Anniversary we will help them dedicate that bench
at three o'clock.
Speaker 5 (41:49):
Today and where is.
Speaker 18 (41:50):
That it's out at the cemetery In. SYSTEMVILLE i think
it's Called Floral Hills. Cemetery it's just Past Tuppers creek
up In.
Speaker 5 (41:59):
Sisavie it's at three o'clock. Today and is that something
that the public is invited to attend or is it a?
Speaker 6 (42:05):
Prive?
Speaker 5 (42:05):
MEAN i just want it for. Clarification if it's a
pre if it's a personal family, thing then you, know
so be.
Speaker 18 (42:09):
It but, right, uh, no it's not a private. THING
i would think if anybody would want to come pay their,
respects we're more than welcome to come, out all.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
