The April 24, 2007 testimony before Federal Grand Jury 07-103 in West Palm Beach was part of Operation Leap Year, the federal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking operation. The proceedings took place inside the U.S. Courthouse and reflected a moment when federal prosecutors were actively laying out evidence, witness testimony, and investigative findings related to Epstein’s alleged sexual exploitation of underage girls. This phase of the grand jury process focused on establishing patterns of conduct, corroborating victim statements, and clarifying the scope of Epstein’s activities, including how victims were recruited, transported, and compensated. Testimony presented during this session was aimed at helping jurors understand the systematic nature of the abuse rather than isolated incidents, reinforcing the argument that Epstein’s conduct met federal thresholds for serious criminal charges.

In this episode, we begin digging into the deposition of one of the young women who accused Jeffrey Epstein, shifting the focus away from legal maneuvering and back onto the human cost at the center of this case. Her sworn testimony offers a chilling, first-person account of how she was recruited, what she was told, and what she experienced inside Epstein’s world, filling in details that never fully surfaced in public at the time. The deposition strips away euphemisms and defenses, replacing them with a raw narrative that shows how methodical and normalized the abuse became from the victim’s perspective. As we walk through her words, it becomes clear how closely her account aligns with others, reinforcing that these were not isolated claims but part of a broader, deeply entrenched pattern that federal investigators were already aware of in 2007.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to take a
look at another portion of a grand jury deposition from
two thousand and seven two thousand and eight Operation Leap Year,
and this time we're going to be hearing from one
of the victims themselves. Like usual, the names are redacted,

(00:22):
and this time there are so many redactions we don't
even know who's asking the questions. So with that said,
why don't we dive in? Good afternoon? Misredacted? Could you
state and spell your name for the record? Answer redacted?
Redacted or redacted? Question? And where do you currently live? Answer?
I live? Do you want me to give you the
full address? Question sure? Answer redacted, West Palm Beach. Question Okay,

(00:47):
you're living with your parents now? Answer yes. Question where
you serve with a subpoena to appear before the grand
jury today? Answer yes. Question and do you understand that
an order was signed by a judge compelling you to
appear and answer questions? Answer yes. Question and that order
states that what you tell the grand jury won't be

(01:08):
used against you unless you perjure yourself. Answer yes. Question
Do you understand that you are under oath and if
you don't tell the truth answer, I can go to jail. Yes.
Question okay, let's start with where you went to high school?
Answer redacted? Question? How old are you today? Answer twenty one?

(01:29):
Question and what's your day of birth? Answer redacted question?
What year did you graduate from? Redacted? Answer two thousand
and four? Question? And where are you currently working? Answer?
I currently am not working? Question but you are? Redacted?
Answer redacted? Question? And where where will that be? Answer

(01:51):
Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs question what type of position will
that be? Answer redacted? Question? Have you works since the
time that you graduated from high school? Answer? Uh huh.
Question can you tell the grand jury what type of
jobs you've had? Answer? I worked out redacted. I worked
in a club up in Orlando as redacted as well.

(02:13):
I have also worked at a sports bar as a waitress.
Question when you were at high school, where did you work?
Answer redacted and redacted? Question And do you know Jeffrey Epstein?
Answer yes, I do. Question can you tell the grand
jury how you first came to meet mister Epstein? Answer?
I met mister Epstein through two acquaintances redacted and redacted,

(02:35):
and I met them at a beach resort. They made
a proposition to me. Later then I picked them up
and they gave me directions to the house, and that's
where I was formally introduced to mister Epstein. Question okay,
and let me just go back over that a little bit.
You mentioned that you had two acquaintances, redacted and redacted,
and that you met them at a beach resort. Correct

(02:59):
answer yes. Question and you said that they made a
proposition to you. What was that exactly? Answer? Redacted had
asked if I wanted to make some money, and she
was working for this guy Epstein and Palm Beach, so
I told her I was interested. And the further we
went into detail about massaging them, that you would have
to take off articles of clothing and there would be

(03:21):
touching and fondling involved. Question How old were you when
this happened? Answer about sixteen? Question? And how old was redacted? Answer?
Same age? Question? And how did you know redacted? Answer?
We went to redacted together? Question and was she in
the same grade in high school? Answer yeah? Question and

(03:42):
you mentioned that redacted had previously worked for Epstein or
was currently working for Epstein? Answer yeah, that's right. Question.
So they explained this proposal to you, and you said
that you would be interested. Answer yes. Question what happened next?
Answer within a couple of days to a week. I
picked them up and I went to his house to

(04:04):
work for him, and I was introduced or adacted who
was his assistant. She took me upstairs to Epstein's bedroom,
and that's where the massage took place. I was naked
and he tried fondling me and I wouldn't have it.
So after the massage, he gave me another proposition to
bring girls to the house, and for every girl that
I brought, I would make two hundred bucks. Question. All right,

(04:26):
we'll go back over that a little bit more slowly.
I know this is a lot of information, So let's
go back to the proposition that redacted and redacted made
to you. Did they say that you would be paid
for massaging mister Epstein? Answer yes. Question and how much
would you be paid? Answer two hundred? Question. Now, you

(04:47):
said that they had told you that you might have
to take your clothing off. Answer They told me that
I was expected to take my clothing off and that
there would be fondling. Question Okay, and what did they explain?
What meant. Answer just that he'd be touching me. Question okay,
and so you agreed to do that, and you went

(05:07):
to mister Epstein's home. Answer correct question. And where was
that located? Answer Palm Beach bri Away question b r
I l O. Answer yes. Question. And when you arrived
at the home, you said that you were driving with
redacted and redacted. Answer that is correct. Question Tell us
how you got into the house. Answer? We went through

(05:30):
a gate on the side of the house that led
to the back, and we just rang the doorbell and
redacted answered the door, and we were standing in the kitchen,
and then redacted brought me upstairs. Question okay, now, did
you have any did redacted tell you anything about what
you would do when you got upstairs? No, she never
discussed that with me, is the answer. Question Did you

(05:52):
say anything to you about taking your clothes off? Answer no,
she never discussed that with me. Question okay, so when
you arrived upstairs, you said that you went into the bedroom.
Answer that is correct. Question What was in the bedroom? Answer?
It was a bedroom that had a door that then,
I want to say, led to a bigger more than

(06:14):
just a bathroom. It was a bigger room with like
pretty large size walking closet, a shower, a steam shower,
and then two sinks on the right and in the
middle laid the massage table, and then to the left
there were two couches. Question and so the massage table
was already set up when you arrived. Answer that is correct.

(06:34):
Question okay. And after a dactid led you up to
the bedroom, what did she do? Answer? She had left?
And that's when Epstein came in. Question okay. And when
mister Epstein came in, what was he wearing? Answer? He
was wearing a towel. Question okay? And nothing else? Answer
nothing else? Question and what did he do? Answer? He

(06:55):
laid on the table and that's when the massage began.
And later on he when he got in, I took
off my clothes and I was just wearing my bottoms
and he later tried to touch me and he grabbed
my butt, and that's when I had a problem. I
told him that I didn't feel comfortable. So later he
took the towel off and he was laying on his
back and he redacted, asking me to redact it. And

(07:18):
then after that everything was done. Question okay. So when
mister Epstein redacted. Then the massage or whatever was over. Answer? Yeah,
it was over. Question And once that happened, what did
he do? Answer? Just got up and dried himself off
and then walked me downstairs. Question and you got dressed
as well? Answer that's right. Question And when did you

(07:40):
go back downstairs? What happened? Answer? I went back into
the kitchen and just pulled redacted and redacted aside, and
we just left. Of course, I got paid. Question okay,
and tell us where you got paid, who paid you,
and how much you received? Answer? Epstein paid me. I
received two hundred, but I cannot recall if it was

(08:01):
upstairs that he paid me, or if he waited until
I got back downstairs. Question okay, And when he paid
you the two hundred was it in small bills or
large bills? Answer? Big bills? One hundred's question okay, So
two hundred dollars bills? And so you said that he
pulled redacted and redacted aside. Do you know what that

(08:22):
was about? Answer? He would never pay them in front
of me. He always was funny about that, So I'm
sure he was just paying them for bringing me. Question okay,
And you mentioned that you told mister Epstein that you
were uncomfortable with him touching you. Answer that's correct question,
and what became of that? Answer? Later on, before I left,

(08:43):
he had addressed me to not massage him anymore, but
asked me if I could bring girls over, and for
every girl that I brought him, he would pay me
two hundred Question. Okay, so you were uncomfortable with him
touching you, you weren't going to do any more massages?
Answer no, question. He wanted you to find other girls.
Answer that's correct question. And he wanted girls that would

(09:06):
let him touch them. Answer uh huh. Question after that
first massage, did you perform any other massages at his house?
Answer absolutely not. Question did you bring girls? Answer that's
correct question. Tell us how you started to bring girls
to mister Epstein's house. Answer just girls that I met
in high school, acquaintances, people that I just said hi

(09:28):
and by to. A lot of them actually heard about
it through a couple of girls that I had brought,
and they were interested. Some of the girls asked me
about it. Just girls in school I talked to, just
get on the subject. They had no problem with it.
Question Okay, so when you found a girl that you
thought would be interested. What exactly would you tell her? Answer?

(09:49):
I asked them if they were interested in making extra money,
and that I know an older, wealthier man in Palm
Beach who liked to have massages, and they would get
paid two hundred dollars. The more they did, the more
they make. And I would explain to them in detail
that what was expected of them when they showed up
at the house. And I also told them that if

(10:09):
they were underage, just lie about it and tell them
that you're eighteen. Question Let's talk first about what you
said that you tell them what was expected of them?
Answer yes. Question First of all, why did you tell
them that? Answer because that's what I was told? Question
by whom? Answer redacted and redacted? Question okay, And did

(10:31):
Jeffrey Epstein ever address you about don't bring girls over
here if they don't know what's going to happen? Answer absolutely.
Question okay, So all the girls were supposed to know
that when they got there, they would be undressing. Answer.
They would be undressing, There would be touching, there would
be fondling. He was very big on that. He told

(10:52):
me never to bring a girl over unless she knew
what was expected. Question Okay, and did you also tell
them that he would redacted? Answer? I didn't really talk
to them about that. I didn't know if he did
it with everybody or if it was just me that
he did that. Question. But you told them that they
all would have to be partially naked or fully naked. Answer,

(11:12):
partially or fully naked, and there would be touching and fondling. Question. Okay,
how many girls do you think that you brought to
mister Epstein's house? Answer seven, between seven and ten. All right, folks,
we're going to wrap up the first episode right here,
and then the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
gonna pick up where we left off. All of the

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
