other family, and I got to actually go to visit

(01:43):
my second cousin. My second cousin is currently so my
my first cousin just had a baby and that his daughter.
She's in the NICU right now. So okay, Yeah, so
I got to go not to go visit her, and
that was really nice. And she's she's doing better than
she was doing. She was born at twenty nine weeks.

Today's special guest is the executive director of Real Options
of pregnancy center centers in Nashua and Manchester, New Hampshire.

(02:36):
Her name is Lindsay Hibanan and we are so happy
to have her as our special guest today. Welcome Lindsay.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Hi, Hi, thank God you show today.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
I'm so grateful to be here.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Lindsay. Please tell us about Real Options and what do
you do there.

Speaker 6 (02:59):
So I'm the executive director of Real Options, as you said, Manchester,
Nashua and we we are actually celebrating our fortieth year
being a pregnancy center. So we started forty years ago
by a group that came together. They were concerned that,

(03:20):
you know, women facing unplanned pregnancies, that they needed somewhere
to go where they could really discuss all of their options.
Our name has not always been Real Options. We were
originally the crisis Pregnancy Centers of Manchester and Nashua. Then
we were later called care Net. We are still a
care Net center, but we rebranded with care Net's blessing

(03:40):
and permission back in twenty eighteen to Real Options, and
so we have been active in Manchester and Nashua now
for forty years. We became fully medical back in two
thousand and eight. What I mean by that is we
do have you know, we are medical centers. We have
an over seeing medical doctor, and we have registered nurses

(04:03):
that work in the centers doing ultrasounds and administering pregnancy tests.
So that's just a super quick history of where we
came from. And as executive director, we have one board
of directors for both centers, you know, one balance sheet.
I oversee the two centers. And then of course we
have staff and many volunteers who help make it all

(04:25):
come together.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Wow, that's awesome. Forty years it's a really long time. Yes,
people in Nashville and Manchester, And that's wonderful.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Is that nineteen eighty five? If I did the best?

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Cool?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:42):
So could you tell us a little bit more?

Speaker 5 (04:44):
I know you mentioned that you guys, you know, do
medical services, you have ultrasounds, So could you tell us
a little bit more about what the day to day is.
You know what services you provide at Real Options.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Sure of course.

Speaker 6 (04:57):
So, as I mentioned, we have pregnancy test us that
we do, we have ultrasounds, and I should also say
all of our services, everything we do is one hundred
percent free. There is no cost. We like to say
judgment free, costs free. So besides the medical part of
what we do, we also have parenting classes for men

(05:18):
and women. We have male Advocates. Those are volunteers who
are trained to work with men who are becoming dats
and want some guidance around that. We have a streaming
service called bright Course that does the actual teaching of
the classes, and then there's peer support from those who
are client advocates and meet with our you know, clients

(05:41):
one on one. So we also have a boutique in
each center. It's like a beautiful little store and everything
in there is free.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
We have baby.

Speaker 6 (05:50):
Clothes, you know, strollers, car seats, pack and plays, diapers,
you know, all kinds of things like that. And we
also have a program called Mending Hearts. I always like
to mention that because Mending Hearts is a program for
women who have been affected by an abortion in their past.
And so we have a beautiful program of healing and

(06:15):
talk to so many women that have come through the
program and they just say things like, you know, I
feel like I have a light back in my eyes,
I feel lighter in my heart. It's a beautiful program,
you know, about God's forgiveness. And we're launching a new
part of our Mending Hearts is a drop in style
class that meets the last Wednesday of every month in

(06:37):
our Manchester location from six to eight and so it's
just an open drop in style kind of come in,
check us out, and just talk to other women in
the same you know, circumstance and maybe theirs is a
little different, but just we you know, it's really women
helping women. So those are the main highlights of what
we do. We also have a lot of referral service

(07:00):
us that we offer, so adoption referral. We're all trained
in modern adoption. A lot of people don't really understand
what a modern adoption is and they may use language
like I could never give my baby away.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
I mean that's old language.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
The modern adoption languages make a plan that's certainly more positive,
and that's more truthful because when a woman makes an
adoption plan, you know, she's in control of everything from
what happens at the hospital, who she's choosing as parents,
what the contact will be after. So we certainly affirm
and talk adoption to our clients, and we have some

(07:36):
great adoption agencies that we refer to. We have tons
of community referrals. We have client service managers in each
center that are really the experts in our community referrals.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
So that's that's just it. In a nutshell, I think.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
How.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Just a nutshell, that's so much. That's awesome.

Speaker 4 (07:55):
I feel like I could keep going.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
But it's just amazing, Like how many you know, free
things that you guys offer and just this wonderful support
for families in New Hampshire. I really like that you
touched on the fact that you guys have a drop
in style class that you're offering, because that's one thing
when some pregnancy centers that I've heard that you know,
they have after abortion support, but it's like an eight

(08:19):
week class where you have to like go go to
the first class and be there, you know, through the
entire time. But I think having the option that people
can actually come in whenever they want or maybe you
you know, in the middle of the class, you meet
somebody who would benefit from that support, and I think
that that's really awesome.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
So well, that's just it.

Speaker 6 (08:35):
And we do have a ten week program as well,
which is much more in depth. But we've launched this
new style because we feel like there are some women
just like you described who are like I don't really
want to sign up for a ten week class, and
so we still want to support them and be able
to talk with them through So we have a smaller
little book that is more you can kind of not

(08:58):
be there every single week. It's you know, just a
little more easy to drop in and out of and
of course we'd like them to keep coming, but we've
just started it last month, so we're really excited to
try and offer this to the community.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
So lindsay, if women or men, mothers, fathers want to
come to Real Options and receive some of these services,
how how do they do that or how can they
sign up for that or find reach out to.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
You guys about that?

Speaker 6 (09:35):
Well, there are several ways, but we did launch last year.
We launched a new twenty four to seven nurse chat
on our website which is super active. These nurses have
the capacity to make appointments in real time in both
our Manchester and Nashua centers and so they can engage
with us through the nurse chat. They can call us.

(09:57):
We do still get walk in. That can be hard
because often our nurses are fully booked, but sometimes it
just works out that there's been a cancelation as somebody
walks in. So really they can go on the website
and engage that way, or they can call us. They
can text us email, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
All right, and what it is? What what is your website?
So that we can people.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Know Real Options n H and h okay, yes?

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Is that dot dot org? Dot org okay, option h
dot h dot org.

Speaker 6 (10:35):
Now all of a sudden, I'm like, it is a
pot orgy, right, someone put you on the spot there.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
I should know that. I say it all the time.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Totally, But what.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
Would you say is the most rewarding part of your job?

Speaker 2 (10:54):
And how long have you been executive director?

Speaker 6 (10:57):
So I I my journey started quite quite many years ago,
back in the nineties.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
I you know, I heard that there.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Was a pregnancy center near me, a local pregnancy center
that was looking for volunteers, and so I attended a
training and I became a volunteer at a pregnancy center
where you know, I lived in the town that I
lived for off and on for about six years. And later,
you know, fast forward many years later, after I was

(11:27):
married and had my children and whatnot, I was asked
to be on the executive director for Real Options. So
I was on the execut I was on the board
of directors.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Excuse me. I was on the board of directors for
eight years.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
And then we had an executive director who was retiring
out and the board was some of the board members
were like, you should apply and I was.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Like, no way, it's too big a job. But here
I am.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
You know.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
So I went from the board of directors as to
being executive director and I've been doing that almost.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Five years now. Next month. I was hired, you know,
five years ago in July.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
So yeah, wonderful, happy five years.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
You know, it's funny because I feel like that's usually
that's honestly the story. A lot of the times I
find with people who are like running pregnancy centers as
I think it's a God calls them to it.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
I know there's I live in Connecticut and.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
There's a pregnancy center near me and I recently was
talking to the executive director there and she started about
five years ago too, and she said, yeah, I wasn't
planning on it. And then the executive director left and
they asked me, and I was like, no way, I
can't do that.

Speaker 6 (12:36):
So I was like, I don't know if I can
do that. But we've had you know, we've been very
blessed to have a very it's been great. You know,
it was a wonderful ministry and I came in and
you know, we've had some wonderful things happening over the
last five years. So I'm not taking credit for it.
I'm just I'm grateful that I've been a part of it.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Yeah, well, we have a story to share from Real
Options Molly's story. If we could share that video of tour,
that would be great.

Speaker 7 (13:16):
When I found out I was pregnant, I was already
a single parent, working full time. I had a good
job that I had worked hard for, and was also
in school to better my future. My boyfriend had really
strong opinions that abortion was our best option and the
solution we desperately needed. Although I had an abortion scheduled

(13:37):
for the next day, I was feeling unsettled about it,
so I googled abortion and Real Options came up in
my search. The thing that attracted me was the free
services they offered. I wanted to be sure I had
explored all my options before I had the abortion, so
I texted Real Options and they scheduled me to come
in right away. When I arrived, the staff was friendly

(14:02):
and seemed to care about me. I met with a
nurse and she gave me a pregnancy test and then
further confirm my pregnancy through an ultrasound. I was so conflicted,
I just did not know what to do. And then
the nurse offered to pray with me. She was so

(14:23):
calm and it helped me to relax a bit. I
still had not made up my mind, but I wanted
more time to think about it. The nurse told me
we could continue discussing my options, so I set another
appointment to sit down with her two weeks later, and
I canceled my appointment at the abortion clinic. At the

(14:44):
next appointment, I told the nurse I'm keeping my baby,
and she provided another ultrasound. It was so exciting to
see my baby moving around inside me. It was not
an easy decision to keep my baby, and I struggled
with it throughout my entire pregnancy. But now when I
look at my beautiful baby girl, I think about how

(15:06):
she might not be here if I had not come
to Real Options. That day, I was so close to
having an abortion. I'm so happy I had her, and
her father is too. He loves her so much and
even thanked me for having her. We can't imagine life
without her. I love her so much. I will forever

(15:29):
be grateful for the support I received at Real Options.
It really made me feel like I was not alone.
Our daughter is here because of people like you who
help provide the free services we received. Deep inside, I
know that it was the right decision to keep my baby,
and I'm so happy that I made that decision.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
That was beautiful.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
It is. And that's just one client story.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
And I wanted to just point out the website that
you saw at the end of that is our you know,
friends of the Friends of the Ministry donor website, but
Real Options at h dot org.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
It is dot org is our client facing website. And
that's just one story.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Notesdy, you asked me, you know, what would be one
impactful story, and there's just so many, you know, that
come to mind, even for me personally, just you know,
women that I've said, you know, I've never had to
buy one diaper, and that's made all the difference in
the world, you know, because we get they get diapers
every single week, free diapers, and just couples that have

(16:51):
you know, gotten married and just come together and learn
to be parents, and you know, helping women you know,
after an abortion, and just so many beautiful stories of
clients that I so many come to mind. Yeah, so
that's just one.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Do you remember that time about Molly's story, And.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Yes, very clearly.

Speaker 8 (17:19):
Do I do.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Also, the ultrasounds. Can you share about like the ultrasound
that Real Options has and how that helps women and men.

Speaker 6 (17:34):
Yeah, So, when women are faced with an unplanned pregnancy,
you know, in the state of New Hampshire, they have
three legal choices.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
Of course, they can choose adoption, which I.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
Already mentioned, and we can help with that because we
have to adoptionate for all services. They can choose to parent,
and I've already kind of mentioned some of the support
that we can offer for people wanting to become parents.
And then of course they can choose an abortion, and
we will talk with a woman, you know who who

(18:06):
wants to consider abortion. We want to be able to
share with her the risks, the procedures, and also the
aftermath of what happens after abortion, so that she is
well informed if that is her choice. It's against a
lot of course someone to have an abortion. It's against
a lot of course them not to. So we respect
all women's autonomy, but we do believe that one of

(18:28):
the most empowering things for women is for them to
be able to see what's happening inside of their bodies.
So it's very important that we offer these free ultrasounds,
you know, if a woman wants to know what's happening,
and you know, I can tell you I have been
in the ultrasound room. I'm not a nurse, I'm not medical,

(18:49):
but we always have what's called an ultrasound chaperone in
with our nurses as a second layer of protection, you know,
for everybody involved. And so I have chaperone many many
ultrasounds in the past five years. And you know, it's
amazing to hear women say things like, I thought it
was just pregnancy tissue. I didn't know it would look

(19:10):
like a baby. I didn't know there was a heartbeat,
you know, I does it have a face? I didn't
know it looked this. I didn't understand it was a baby. Already,
we scan as early as six weeks, and so that
is empowering for women to be able to know and
understand that before they make that decision. And again, we
respect their autonomy, you know, regardless of their decision, We're

(19:31):
there for them. You know, we care about them, we
love them. We do not refer or perform abortions at all.
But we will meet with women. And some women already
have an appointment at the abortion clinic. They may already
have the abortion pill in hand. But you know, they
come in number one because probably because services are free,
and I think number two is because they know that

(19:52):
we will talk to them about anything they want to
talk about. You know, we will. We're going to meet
them where they're at and discuss where they want to
talk about. You know, we're not going to you know,
make them sit and listen to information they don't want
to hear. But if they really want to know more
about an abortion, our nurses are skilled to discuss the
risks and procedures of the abortion pill, you know, procedural abortions,

(20:16):
so they will do that and so, you know, I
just think it's important for women to be able to
go somewhere where they'll be listened to, they'll be cared for,
and they'll be empowered with information before they make a
decision like that. I mean, so many women are just
astounded at you know, what they're seeing on the ultrasound screen.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
It just speaks for itself. And by the way, we
have three D four.

Speaker 6 (20:39):
D ultrasound technology which we have women say this is
better than my opgy in one of the nurse manager
I toured a medical facility near us and they were like, oh,
my goodness, you have three D four D technology that
was all provided for free from us, from from donors
and from churches, you know, they donate things like that.
Both centers have three D fourty technology and you know

(21:02):
it's important. It makes it very clear. And also what's
sort of how this isn't some you know back, you
know Allie's situation here, like we have cutting edge technology
that we can offer you for free in order to
empower women in the community, so with information.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
So I think that's that's so wonderful. And just like
being able to provide you know, information and knowledge and
exactly scientific evidence of their their child, you know, to women,
and you know, if a partner's coming in as well,
so important. And I know, just from some outreach I've
done just on campus. I go do outreach on campuses.

(21:39):
A lot a lot of people don't actually know the
risks of an abortion or you know, or what an
abortion is. So the fact that you guys even can
provide knowledge and information about that as well is so
so important too. Another question I had is, so I
feel like a big sometimes a big complaint of like
when people are like, oh, well, if you're encouraging somebody

(21:59):
to to you know, choose life, like like, do do
you support the baby after they're born?

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Like, so, I know you mentioned touched on a little bit.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
You said that you provide free diapers to mothers if.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
They choose life for their babies.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
So I could you how how long after the baby's
born will you help them with baby supplies and things
like that?

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Is Yeah, that's a great question.

Speaker 6 (22:22):
I'm so glad you asked it because it really does
come up a lot and it's very important and we
do support and provide you know, services and supports to
families because you know, women and men. Like I said,
it's typically up to about age two is what we
can do our best. And then we have some people
that want to stay on a little bit longer and

(22:44):
we have we don't just have parenting classes. I should
mention our break course classes. You know, there's you know,
anything from budgeting to life skills. There's all kinds of
things that they can take, and we love to ask
them like, hey, what do you want to take once
we've done the basic parenting pack? You know for moms
and dads, we like to you know, ask.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
Them what are you interested in?

Speaker 6 (23:06):
You want to keep coming in and so so, yes,
we can support them up through age two. We have
clothing up through about age two. Sometimes we have a
little bit older, but for the most part it's through
age two.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
That's awesome. No, that's wonderful. Yeah, it's really And that's
the thing I think that's so important for people to
know is, yes, pregnancy centers like yours, you guys provide
you know, those resources even after the baby's born.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
That's awesome.

Speaker 6 (23:35):
So yeah, and I think sometimes people don't understand the impact.
You know, there are a lot of pregnancy centers just
in our state alone. And you know, there was a
report that came out in twenty twenty three. We all
submitted our statistics for you know, all of the free
services we provide, you know, pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, the clothing,

(23:57):
the divers the classes, and it accounted to just being
over one point three million dollars in the state of
New Hampshire that the pregnancy centers of New Hampshire are
providing for free for the community. So and of course
that's because of our donors and whatnot. But we have
a huge impact. I know last year we had our

(24:18):
busiest medical year year yet I mean, we did we have,
you know, the two locations we served over nine hundred
and eighty We served nine hundred and eighty two individuals
with three hundred and fifty four ultrasounds. We had six
hundred and forty eight classes, eight hundred and fourteen visits
for material goods, over thirteen hundred visits total, and three.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
Hundred and forty five pregnancy tests.

Speaker 6 (24:39):
It's a lot of numbers, I know, but I just
wanted to say that to say, you know, you know,
Real Options is really impactful in the Manchester, in Nashville
areas and beyond.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
You know, it's not just those two cities.

Speaker 6 (24:54):
We see people down into Massachusetts and you know, kind
of there are other pregnancy centers, but I think sometimes
times people want to come to the big cities where
nobody will, you know, they kind of want some anonymity.
So so yeah, we're definitely grateful that we're making a big,
big difference for the communities, for families.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
You guys are doing wonderful work.

Speaker 8 (25:17):
People are really really needing these all these services and
resources and they're really coming to receive.

Speaker 6 (25:29):
So yes, the number one way people reach us is
through Google Ads. We do you know, spend money on
our Google ads and our Google campaigns and being on
social media.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
Five years ago, that was one of the first things
I said. I said, we need to do it on
social media. That's where everybody is.

Speaker 6 (25:44):
And so we do a lot of social media advertising
and the number two way that people reach us is
word of mouth. And so I think one of the
most frustrating things for me is when I talk to
someone you know, in the community and.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
They explain that they wish.

Speaker 6 (26:00):
They had heard about us, and I'm like, We've been
around for forty years, how is this possible.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
We have billboards.

Speaker 6 (26:05):
We just had a friend of the ministry provide billboards
through December, so you know, there's we want people to
know there's no reason why we should not be the
first stop for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, because
you know, we will.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
We're there to listen.

Speaker 6 (26:22):
We don't we don't gain financially from any decision that
a woman makes, which is very powerful for women to
know that that they you know, we're not going to
gain anything.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
You know, we don't.

Speaker 6 (26:32):
We don't gain from any decision that they make. We
don't have a stake in that, you know, so they
can come to us. So I think it's frustrating when
sometimes I bump into people and they just tell me
their story and they say, wish I had known about you.
So tell tell people. You know, we want to always
spread the word that we're here. We're here for we're

(26:52):
here for women and for men. You know, we're not
called a women's center. We want to be welcoming to
men as well. We always ask on the phone, we're answering,
you know, phone calls or you know, whether it's through
text or chat. You know, we say, do you have
a support partner? We welcome your support partner as well.
And so and that's why you know, we've got classes
for the guys too. We want them to feel just

(27:13):
as welcome. We're not a super girly you know, when
you walk in our waiting room, you know it's got
a lot of blue and it's very neutral because we
we want men to feel very welcome.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
They should feel welcome.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Yeah, I think it's it's kind of wrapped up in
your logo, which is like a heart for the love, yeah,
and like a speech bubble for like speaking in love
and a conversation.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
And that's what I seek from the elections. Yeah, we certainly,
you know, care and and you know we believe it's
a baby. We we do personally. You know it's for
a woman to decide that for herself, but we also
care about the moms and the dads. We truly do.
And you know, our exit surveys, we have ninety nine

(28:00):
percent excellent. Every time someone comes in, they get an
exit serv And there's many questions that get asked, but
one of them is you know, to rate us, and
another one is.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
You know, what did you like about the center?

Speaker 6 (28:12):
And I was just reading through last months and the
comments from people of I was cared for, I was
listened to.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
I felt so safe. You guys really love me.

Speaker 6 (28:20):
You care about whatever their decision, we care about them,
and we feel that's that's success, regardless of their decision,
if they walk out the door and they feel that
we cared for them what we do, and so that
that's a huge success right there.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
I love that you emphasize the fact that you get
so many good reviews, like ninety nine percent of.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Reviews, because I so.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
In my day job, I am a regional coordinator for
Students' Life of America, so I do a lot of
outreach on campuses and talking about often talking about what
pregnancy resource centers do, and sometimes I get people like, oh,
they're coeresive or you know, they make THEMN feel uncomfortable
and this and that and and that's always what I
say is like, you know, pregnancy centers like like yours,

(29:03):
like real options.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Often people leave and they leave really good.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
Reviews, and they very happy these pregnancy centers again like
foreign five star reviews, and you know, they people go
on about how you know, how love they fell and
like everything you just described.

Speaker 6 (29:17):
So but unfortunately people can also put fake reviews up
on other people's websites, and you know, it's difficult.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Sometimes you can't do anything about that.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
But so, you know, having said that, I just want
to point that out that these are our exit surveys
in person, and you know you can't you know, can
it's they tell you you really shouldn't say, give us
a good review.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
You know, it's a medical service.

Speaker 6 (29:41):
You don't really want to feel like you're coercing them
to give you a good review on like Google or whatever.
So we don't pressure people to do that.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
We know where we.

Speaker 6 (29:48):
Stand, we know what people in the community really think
about us. You know, it's a positive experience and I'm
glad that you take that head on. You know, back
when there was the overturning of ro v Way, we
were picking in Manchester by a group of women and
that's okay. I said, listen, if we ever get picketed,
and make sure you go out and offer water. Let them,
you know, have a tour if they want to know
more about us, because they probably are misinformed, right And

(30:12):
so I wasn't there, but the center manager went out
and it was a group of younger I was described
them as younger women, and you know, she said, does
anybody need water because it was summer, and they were
kind of surprised, and they had papers in their hands
that they were handing out, and she said, can I
see the paper that you're that you're looking at that
you're handing out and she handed them and it was

(30:34):
just full of you know, stuff that's just not accurate,
and so she was like, well, let me talk about
some of these things. They were very respectful and they listened,
and you know, then she said, if you're hungry, if
you need anything to eat, you know, we have lots
of snacks and if you want to you know, come inside,
You're welcome to and so they ended up leaving.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
You know, I think that they realize what are we
doing here? You know, she was able to address.

Speaker 6 (30:57):
The points on there and say, you know, I don't
worry about that, but this is just not accurate information
about what we're doing. And so, you know, anybody can
say anything, but we are confident.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
In what we're doing, and we're confident in knowing that.

Speaker 6 (31:10):
Women are very women and men are very happy, you know,
with our services.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Yeah, amazing.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
I have a question about if our listeners would like
to support the work and mission of Real Options or volunteer,
how can they help.

Speaker 6 (31:32):
Probably the easiest thing to do is to go to
that website that was on the screen after Molly's video,
the friend is you have to put the there's a
different website called Friends in Life.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
That's not our friends, it's got to be friends.

Speaker 6 (31:45):
So the friendsolife dot org and you know, you can
learn more about volunteer opportunities and you know, becoming a
donor or a friend of the ministry. We do have
you know, fundraisers through the year and yeah, so we
are one hundred percent you know donor support in so

(32:05):
we appreciate it, and the donors love us. They love
what we're doing in the community, and so they love
to support the work.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
That's wonderful. Well, Lindy, thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
Is there anything else that you.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
Would like to share with the with the podcast with
our listeners.

Speaker 6 (32:24):
I'm trying to thank you guys that you gave me
some questions beforehand that they were they were really excellent.
I think we've covered a lot of them. But I'm
just trying to think if there's anything else in that
list that we might not have covered. You know, I
think one thing I guess I just want to say is,
you know, if any any women hear this and they're
facing an unplanned pregnancy, you know, please please come to

(32:47):
Real Options because we really do care about you. Like
I said, we don't profit from any decision that you make.
We will meet you where you are at we are.
You know, it's it's free, but the cost free, and
we're all so judgment free. And if any woman you
know listening has had an abortion and they're struggling, you know,

(33:07):
we'd love to help you with that as well. We
have women experienced who can walk you through some hope
and healing. Because of that experience. So yeah, I really
appreciate this opportunity. We're so we're so grateful, we're so
grateful that you asked us to be here.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Yeah, thank you for thank you for being here, thank
you for coming on the show.

Speaker 5 (33:29):
And yeah, sharing about all the great work that you
guys are doing sounds wonderful. And I'm sure there's so
many people out there that have personal stories, you know,
just like the video you shared, you know, where they've
been supported by you guys, and yeah, they are in
a very different spot than they were, you know, when
they were nervous about their pregnancy.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
So yeah, for sure, for sure. In fact, Sindny, you
asked me that one time, you know, what does it
feel like to support these families? And you know, we
have had moms bring in their daughters and we were
there for them, and you know, their daughters need our services,
and they remembered us and trusted us, and you know,
you know, it'd be great if their daughters were in

(34:10):
different circumstances. But you know, we're glad that we can
be there generationally and that moms who cared you know,
twenty years ago and felt like they were cared for
can still reach out to us and want to trust
us enough with our own daughters to bring them in
and walk with them through whatever they need. So wow, yeah,

(34:33):
forty years of forty years God has really blessed us
for sure.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
Yes, amazing. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Well that concludes today's episode about Real Options with Lindsay Himanan.
Thank you so much for coming in. At the end
of every episode, Jessica and I we each share a
Bible verse that we picked out that you know, values life.
So I don't know if you if you picked one, Linday,

(35:02):
that's if not.

Speaker 6 (35:03):
Yeah, And if I was concerned that maybe you've you know,
shared this one before.

Speaker 5 (35:08):
No, no, actually I think I shared one once that
Cyndy had shared like two weeks before, and.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
So it's very possible. It's very possible.

Speaker 6 (35:17):
So so a few years back, I memorized the chapter
of Some one thirty nine, which is twenty four verses.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
That's a lot for me to memorize. Maybe not for you,
but that was a long passage for me.

Speaker 6 (35:29):
Don't worry, I'm not going to I'm not going to
try to remember it for three helps or anything like that.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
But there are have you guys done someone thirty nine
that's the exact one.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, but we love that. Yeah, let's hear it.

Speaker 6 (35:42):
Well, it was this section in the middle, and I
was actually gonna I tend to use a version that
it's a little trick years for people, So I'm going
to read it from here. It says, for you created
my inmost being knit and the crisis is Asama is
talking to God, for you created my inmost being. Hit
me together in my mother's room. I praise you because

(36:02):
I'm fearfully and wonderfully Mate. Your works are wonderful. I
know that full well. My frame was not hidden from
you when I was made in the secret place. I
was woven together the depths of the earth. Your eyes
saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me
were written in your book before one of them came
to be. How precious to me are your thoughts God?
And I love that when I have to say, when

(36:24):
I memorize the twenty four verses, you know, I've known
many of the verses over the years, but when I
memorize those twenty four verses, it became so personal to
me about how much God loves each and every single
one of us, and how you know life in the
womb is so precious to God and so you know,
those are certainly my personal beliefs. And you know, I

(36:46):
love that section of scripture and that's something too. If
women are open to it, you know, we are more
than happy you saw from the video to pray with
them if they want spiritual support.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
If they don't, that's okay, we don't do that.

Speaker 6 (36:58):
But you know, it's always privilege and honors you to
tell them, you know, God loves you, he created you.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
And sometimes when a woman.

Speaker 6 (37:05):
Just realizes that she has a whole different perspective on
her baby as well, right, because suddenly she realizes there
is value to my own life. A lot of people
walk around don't feel much value in their own lives,
so it's hard for them to think of, you know,
an onborn baby as having value. So I walk closely
with that verse and what we do.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Yeah, I love that.

Speaker 6 (37:31):
At the end of your by the end of your
podcast this year, all of your listeners will have memorized
these verses.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Making verse Yeah, okay, it's so good because also in
Psalmon thirty nine, it's that every day of your life
is written in God's books so that He knows us
so intimately, He has a plan for us. He sees
us right, so right exactly, Jessica, did you pick a
verse this week?

Speaker 2 (37:59):
I did so. I did so. I picked.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
I don't have mine memorized, unfortunately, but that's all right.
I had. I chose Matthew twenty eight nineteen through twenty
And this is when Jesus commissions his disciples to go
out and share the Gospel. And he says, go therefore

(38:24):
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and the Son of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
And remember, I am always. I am with you, always
to the end of the age.

Speaker 5 (38:39):
And I really just like loved that last part there,
like that I am with you always to the end
of the age, really just saying like just really showing that,
like God is always with us. And I thought that
that would fit really well with what we're talking about today, right.
It's like, even if you're in a stressful situation, or
you're facing an unplanned pregnancy or whatever, the you know,
difficulty might be life in good times and bad, God

(39:01):
is always with you and we'll lead you through that
and actually I picked this one because I actually just
blought a notepad that has this urse on it, because
I just I need to hear that every day is
that God is with me always, and like he's with
a family facing an onpline pregnancy for sure.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Okay, I'll try to squeeze mine in before we end
the episode. Mineus from Jonah Too Versus five to eight.
Jonah is talking about he's praising God for rescuing him
for salvation. You know, when he was inside the belly
of the great fish for three days. So he says,

(39:44):
the waters closed in over me to take my life.
The deep surrounded me, weeds were wrapped about my head
at the roots of the mountains. I went down to
the land whose bars closed upon me forever. Yet you
brought up my life from the pit, Oh Lord, my God,
when my life was fainting away, I remembered the Lord,

(40:05):
and my prayer came to you into your holy temple.
Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their hope
of steadfast love. So I chose us, because when when
our life is in the pit, when our life is faint,
fainting away, like God remembers us, we remember God and

(40:26):
he brings us out of that pit, you know, he
he rescues us from that that deep water, and so
that that's that's why I chose.

Speaker 4 (40:38):
That that's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
Yeah, okay, well that's all the time we have for today.
God bless you, Lindsay and everybody at Real Options and
everybody who walks through and is helped, and you.

Speaker 4 (40:55):
Just were thankful.

Speaker 6 (40:57):
Thank you, and thank you for having me on your
brain on your podcast.
