Speaker 1 (00:04):
You can catch this show a little later on too.
It'll be on in the future on the iHeartRadio app.
It is free. People listen to it. It's free. Also,
make us your number one pre set. It's easy. You
just go down, you download the app, you find tickets
seven sixty, and you put us in the number one slot.
It seems kind of complicated because we're number one in
your hearts. You know, I was number eleven in high

(00:26):
school for a little bit because I wanted to be
two number ones, at.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Least that's what I thought. It's like when Chan Johnson
wanted to be Ocho Sinco.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, it didn't work out for me. I just went
back to twenty four, you know so, But yeah, you
know so, there's an interesting story. Yesterday kind of caught
everybody's eye, I think, because how this is unfolded, you
know what I mean. Like, we get this headline yesterday
that pops across our phone and it says ex quarterback

(00:57):
Mark Sanchez has been stabbed and is in critical condition
in Indianapolis hospital. And we're like, oh my god, like
that sucks, Like what happened? Did he get attacked?

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Was not? I thought?

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yeah? Did he get yet? Right? You know, because he's
there to cover the Colts and the Raiders today. He
was going to be the analyst for the game. And
then about six hours later we got ex quarterback Mark
Sanchez arrested at the hospital being charged with attacking someone.
What no way. And then now the most recent thing,

(01:36):
because you got to click and refresh a lot of
things here, X quarterback Mark Sanchez charged with allegedly attacking
a truck driver. Huh, so he's now facing who Sanchez,
who's thirty eight, was charged with battery, with injury, public intoxication,
and unlawful entry of a vehicle. Somebody was really drunk.

(01:58):
He attacked a sixty nine year old man. Oh, I know,
what began as a disagreement between a thirty eight year
old professional athlete and a sixty nine year old man
should not have escalated into violence or left anyone seriously injured. Again,
Sanchez was stabbed two to three times. Why because the

(02:19):
sixty nine year old man has now said my life
was threatened, and it was he was forced against I
think a dumpster or something like that. Now, apparently Sanchez
was like in shock after it happened, and he kind
of ran from the scene. Of course, he probably collapsed
a little later and he's been arrested, so his career's done.

(02:40):
We're done with him, right, I mean, there's no what
do you do here? You know? It just a crazy,
crazy article. You hope that he does recover, you know,
from the stabs, because that's kind of scary, man. But
it's just the way it rolled out, right.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
I have to tell you this.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
I don't think his careers over from this. I really don't.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I've seen people do worse and keep their career.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah's real.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
We don't. We don't hold we don't hold people accountable
the same way and once upon a time we did.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
No.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
No, that's that you're supposed to be, like, if you
play football, you're supposed to know that, like consequences have
actions to them.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, but I mean it's just Also, here's my thing.
We get word that a athlete has been stabbed, so
we run an article. Let it wait, let it cook.
Why why was he stabbed? What time of night was it?
Get your facts? Man, Look, I get Adam Scheffler wants
to be the first guy to say. Now, you're like,
I got the rules first, informant dude. The way it's

(03:41):
kind of stumbling out of his mouth. It is something
that is not professional to me. Get the police report.
The police report is going to be there, find what's
going on. It's Mark Sanchez, like, yes, I get it,
former USC guy, the butt fumble guy. Right, that's how
we know him, right, it is the butt fumble. But

(04:02):
the thing is is now it's like he attacks somebody,
So how do you kind of circle that back? Right?

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Like?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
How do you? It's kind of like a mixed emotion
for me with what happened. Speaking of mixed emotions, we
got a little baseball action today. The Divisional Series, of course,
is underway. Currently. The Toronto Blue Jays lead the Yankees
one game to nothing, as they took care of the

(04:30):
New York Yankees yesterday ten to one. It was close
at first, but then after the seventh inning the floodgates opened.
That's at three toh eight. I love baseball. Threeh eight pm.
Is the is the matchup?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Here? Are you like me? Where Like whenever when the
playoffs are lined up, you picked the lesser two evils
if your team, if your team is not in there.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yeah, that's why I'm going with the Blue Jays. Man
get a bird, Yeah, and I'm an Orioles guy, so
I like birds, man, They're cool.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
It's the same thing with the Dodgers in the Phillies. Like,
first of all, the Phillies, y'all had that game one.
Y'all had it one. They did Shoho Tani was oh
for four in that game. You had him be a
pitcher that game. He had nine k's, zero hits.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah. And then you've got later on Detroit at Seattle. Seattle,
of course losing home field advantage. These are seven game series, now, right,
I think it's all five games? Are they five games?

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Still?

Speaker 1 (05:23):
No, they're seven? You're right, there's seven. Yeah, So I'm
serious behind I think I think Seattle bounces back today.
I think that, you know, I think they take care
of business. You can't let Detroit be who they were.
Toronto's just a different team that New York's not used to.
While they're showing the NFL classic jerseys today, sorry cut

(05:46):
you off. Yeah, Bucks are wearing the cream sickles. Seattle's
wearing the old school eighties jerseys. I'll watch that game
just because of the uniforms. Sorry.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
It's not gonna get easier for the Mariners because Rick's
Google is gonna be the one who's going to be
pitching for the dot, for the for the for the Tigers,
and he has been really good. He pitched a really
great playoff game against the I guess the Guardians.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
In the first series. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
So.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
And then of course on Monday, you've got the Dodgers
at Philly and you have Chicago at Milwaukee. Again, Milwaukee's
just one of those teams that's just smoking everybody from
their pitching to their bats. Right now, as much as
you want to see Chicago win it because it's the Cubbies,
I don't know if they stand a chance. I wouldn't be.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Mad at the Brewers. One, well, my sister in law
is from she's from Wisconsin. She's a Brewers fan. Two,
our our old buddy Andrews Zimble, who's he's up in
Milwaukee right now. Give him something to talk about. And three,
just because like I'm someone, especially as a spursman, you
understand this. I like when the lesser known, the lesser
appreciated powers and sports takeovers. So obviously with the Dodgers
and Phillies, both those are traditional powers. So you're gonna

(06:47):
have one come out of there in the NL but
with the Brewers and Cubs, I would like to see
the Brewers make it all the way because of those
four teams, they're the lesser they're the lesser known of
all the franchises. Yeah, Like in the AL, I would
like it to be either Toronto or Seattle.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Person, Yeah, for sure. And so baseball is there of course.
And then lastly, what I want to kind of get
to is welcome back Spurs fans. Yes, welcome back to
a season of hope, opportunity and a lot of hype.
And it's very important not only for the Spurs to
do successful things, but it's also very important for me

(07:21):
to use my podium. Vote yes, vote yes for this
arena or a month away, We're a month away. Polls
open October twentieth. You can vote if you live outside
sixteen oh four. If you have any questions, your counselmen
are there for you to answer the correct questions. This
does not cost you anything. And if you want to

(07:42):
argue me on hotel tax and rental card tax, I'll
take a staycation with you and I'll pay the tax.
The Spurs are worth it. And some facts here. The
city approached the Spurs about this idea. So don't sit
there and say, oh, well, the Spurs are just crying
because they want a new arena.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Preaching on it.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
No, they were just staying quiet and they got a call. Hello, Hey,
