Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome into it our number two cutting half. I'm releasing
us all early so we can get ready for that
Texans Baltimore game right here on Ticket seven sixty.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
You know, so week five of the NFL right upon us.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
A couple news and notes before we get you into
the picks, because I do like to take my time
on every single game. Cowboys Jets today, Texans Ravens today.
Texans actually favored in that game because Lamar Jackson is out.
For those of you who lived under a rock or
are still crying about Texas losing to Florida yesterday.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
It's so funny.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I'm just like watching Facebook because I'm on Facebook Live
right now.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yeah, and you can join us there.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
And you know, we've got people saying, just blame everything
on the mayor of San Antonio. That's our that's our fallout,
you know, Cowboys Jets, Dak Prescott's offense. Has Dak gotten
better for you this year? Shane, Yes for Yeah, And
it's still funny to me, Like I shared a video yesterday,
It's like Dak Prescott's good, but people still blame him
(01:05):
for everything. And it's like, dude, the defense allowed forty points.
You know when you're the quarterback of the Cowboys. That
just kind of comes with the territory.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
True.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I mean, Troy Aikman didn't even remember the ninety three
NFC Championship game, and he should. He probably shouldn't have
played in the Super Bowl, but he did, you know.
So it's an early game, it's a noon game. Should
we be scared of that game?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
I don't know. The Texans. They're in Baltimore today.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Baltimore's won in three, you know, and me and you
Shane had talked about how Baltimore should be that strong
front that could be potentially facing Kansas City or Buffalo
for that matter, in the AFC Championship game. Lamar's out today,
we don't know how long he's gonna be out. Stroud
is zero to three against Baltimore in his career, so
(01:54):
what's gonna break through?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:56):
And of course you have Cooper Rush as the starter
for the BAALTI more Ravens.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
So that's a.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Different type of offense that Houston has to face now
because without Lamar Jackson behind there, the Texans have got
to do something different, which they're probably not used to.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
And we'll just see.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
But you know what, it's week five, Shane, shall we
get to our picks?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Absolutely, let's do it.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Ah.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Week five upon us and the games are getting packed,
the stadiums are getting full, you're losing money on parking.
But here we go into it. On Thursday, of course,
we had the forty nine Ers knocking off the Rams
twenty six to twenty three.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Currently over in London, the Browns in the.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Fourth quarter leading the Minnesota Vikings seventeen to fourteen. Well,
let's start with a couple new games. You will save
the Texans and the Cowboys for last. You've got Miami
Dolphins against the Carolina Panthers.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Who do you got, Shane?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Did you see that injury that happened on Tyreek Hill?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Who?
Speaker 2 (03:04):
I did? And I think he's happy it happened. That
was gross.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Yeah, yeah, I think some of his exes might be
happy it happened too.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
But I think in this game, just because.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Miami's just beat up and Carolina, I don't know what
it is, but Carolina as him playing at least up
to opponents despite the fact they've lost a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
I like the Panthers in that one.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Okay, I like the Panthers too because I think the
Dolphins are pretty much I don't know. I mean, they
took care of the Jets last Monday Night, which, by
the way, how did that become a Monday night game?
Speaker 2 (03:31):
But anyways, the.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Next one they are Raiders travel to the Indianapolis Colts,
which I got a little bit more stories about Mark
Sanchez a little bit later on. But you got the
Raiders and the Colts. The Raiders who are one and
three and the Colts who were surprisingly three and one.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Who do you have in this one?
Speaker 4 (03:49):
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Dane
Jones might be the leader for MVP right now. Wow,
at the very least comeback player of the year. Wow,
at least that. But I'm the Colts have really found
themselves on defense.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
They might be one of the more complete defenses in
the NFL.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
And Indiana Jones, I'm calling him, that has added layer
to this offense.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
I like the Colts in this one.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
You like the Colts in this one? I do not
so fast, my friend.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
I believe the Raiders pull off an upset today and
they knock off the Colts seventeen to fourteen.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yes, there's my score on that one.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
After that, You've got the New York Football Giants who
have now Jackson Dart, the rookie sensation, the guy they
should have played in Week one against the New Orleans
Aints who are currently oh to four. This is a
one to three matchup versus oh and four matchup. Shane,
who cares? But who do you guys?
Speaker 4 (04:40):
I don't love that they lost elite neighbors. At this
point the season, Jackson dar was gonna rely heavily on him,
and now I'm gonna expect a lot of like passing
the fo Johnson the tight end. So I like New
Orleans in this game, just one, because I think the
defense can contain the Giants offense, and too, I like
the home fun advantage.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
I like the Giants. I think Jackson and Dart is
something different. I think he's gonna play with a little
bit of purpose, just because the Saints probably should have
drafted him and they didn't, And so I think that
he's gonna have that little you should have had me and.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
This is what you lost.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Later on in the twelve o'clock games. You've got the
Denver Broncos traveling to the tush Push Eagles.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Who do you got in this one? Be careful.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Can't be careful.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
I always say be careful.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
I was leaning Eagles, but I really like what the
Broncos had defensively in terms of like how they can how.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
They can play the run against the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
The Eagles are very much a we're gonna play for
fourth down every single drive type of defense, and the
Broncos if they can create third and longs, they can
win this game.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
And I think they have the defense to do it.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
You like Denver, I'm gonna go with Philly here just
because they're at.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Home and they they know how to win at home.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Even if they're trailing early, they know how to come
back against that. Some three o'clock games, because of course
bye weeks are now going into effect. You've got the
Tennessee Titans at Arizona now on this one. Cam Ward
is pissed. He called out his team. He says, we're
not doing enough, We're not doing this. He did that
in the press conference last week after the loss against
the Texans.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Does that change the momentum of the.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Tennessee Titans against Kyler Murray's Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Not this week.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
I think Arizona is one of these sleeper teams, especially
in the NFC. They are going to be a team
that is playing good play teams very close. Also, I
liked how Marvin Harrison the last couple weeks has come along,
especially for this offense.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
I like Arizona.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
I'm with you on that one. I like the Cardinals.
I don't think the Titans are really there yet. Obviously,
cam Ward's doing the best he can. I just think
he's frustrated because when cam Ward looks at his college career,
he was doing nothing but winning at every program. This
is different for him and to see him do what
he did last week was not a good sign.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Hopefully the coaches talked to him. But I see Arizona
winning this one.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
After that, you've got Baker Mayfield's Tampa Bay Buccaneers traveling
to the home of the twelfth Man, the Seattle Seahawks.
A three to one matchup on both squads. This should
be a good game.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Shane, who do you have?
Speaker 3 (07:02):
I like Seattle.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
I like what I see from Sam Donald, how he's
connectively well with Cooper cup Ashu was sivervialized his career
there and Jackson Smith and Jig but might end up
being the at least top raided receiver at the end
of the season.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I like Seattle at home.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
I like Seattle at home too, because here's the thing.
I love you, Baker Mayfield, but honestly.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
How many comebacks are you gonna have?
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Because that's what your three wins were so far this season.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
I don't know if you can do it in Seattle.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Baker's got a calm Seattle's fans down, but they're never calm.
Give me Seattle in that one. Later on, you've got
Detroit at Cincinnati. Cincinnati's toast, Shane. I mean, let's be
clear here, this is probably a quick pick for both
of us.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Cincinnati might be the worst team in the NFL, especially
with the injury to Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah, I like Detroit in this one. I mean, that's
that's pretty much simple, right.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
It's pretty easy in Detroit atty easy.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
At that point. After that, you've got the Washington Commanders.
I was about to say San Diego Chargers, Los Angeles Chargers,
Commanders Chargers in Los Angeles, Shane, who do you got?
Speaker 2 (08:03):
And I went back and forth about this one.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
The retire Jayden Daniels is encouraging if you're a Commander's fan.
But the Chargers at the have been playing some of
the best ball through the first four weeks of the season.
I like the way the offense flows under this system.
Quentin Johnson has become has gone from bus territory to
at least serviceable.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Number two option given the Chargers is Daniel's Backers. He's
still out. He's back, He's back.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Ooh, and the Chargers took a last week, but they're
back at home. I think the Commanders fall to two
and three, and I think the Chargers pull off this victory.
And then Sunday Night Football, you have the New England
Patriots traveling to Buffalo, New York.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
This could be a good game. Now here's a guy, Shane,
who do you have?
Speaker 4 (08:47):
I don't know if you know this or not, but
do you know who leads the NFL in a completion percentage?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
No? I do not.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
It is one Drake May.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Drake May.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
The only Drake that I will support. Is this one
Drake Team Drake? Yes in this case. But yeah, I
think New England is improved and they were last year
at the bare minimum, they are better than where they were.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
But Buffalo's gonna win this game. It's at home.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
They're not losing this one. If they lose one, it'll
be later on in Boston. They're not losing this early
in the season.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
You know, I'm gonna say this. Buffalo is legit. Buffalo
is a team that just looks good. Buffalo can also
come back and win. New England doesn't stand a chance
in this one. I think Buffalo takes it. I think
they handle it well. I think the Pats fall to
two and three. Now Monday Night Football, you've got the
Kansas City Chiefs surprisingly at five hundred and two and
(09:35):
two against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Sunshine. Who do you got, Shane, Sorry, the whole Sunshine.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
I think it toome me up for a second.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
We got to get some love to Liam Collen, who
might be the early favor for coach of the Year
with the Jags. They're playing really well, especially on defense,
and Trevor Lawrence, while not spectacular, has been much improved.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
It looks it looks like on offense.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
And the Jags are three and one.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
They're about to three and two.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
The Colts are three and one.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Yeah, they're about to be three and two. Let's be real.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
The Chiefs needed that win last week against Baltimore. Granted
it is a beat up and dismantled Baltimore team.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Wow, But the Chiefs are one of.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Those teams that like when you count them out, they
just do stuff like this. They're not losing this game.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
I'm counting them out. I said this at the beginning
of the season. Actually, since Kansas City lost the Super Bowl,
I think they've been exposed. I think they're a team
that has been exposed. It's Monday Night deal. Jacksonville hasn't
been on the radar for Monday Night football for a while.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
To do.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Kansas City is business like oriented. They're gonna come into
Jacksonville and they're not gonna handle business because Jacksonville is
gonna say dude and beat the Kansas City Chiefs tomorrow night,
twenty seven to twenty four. Now the local games, you've
got the Texans at the Ravens. This is a one
in three Texans squad favored to win the AFC South
(10:52):
and a one in three Ravens squad.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Who do you got change?
Speaker 4 (10:57):
You know, if Lamar Jackson were playing, I would pick
the Ravens because you're, like you said, he just Trod
has never beaten the Ravens. And when they've played them,
the Ravens have been at full strength. The Ravens are
beat up. The defense does not look good. I don't
think Kyle Hamilton, they're all pro safety's gonna play. And
I don't think either is are all pro tackle Ronnie Stanley.
I think both those guys are like questionable, but both
trending towards not playing. So I think Houston gets their win,
(11:19):
the win on the road. I like the Texans.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Yeah Stroud, like I said earlier, he's zero and three
against the Ravens, but hey, I don't care if Lamar
is not back there taking the snaps. O. Win's a
win baby, And Houston's got to start winning because you've
got Andy, you've got Jacksonville both at three and one,
and right now you're just a game above the winless
Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Texans, what are you doing? Pull your head out, start
winning games.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
And they start that today and when they beat the
Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
I give me the Texans in this one. The next one, obviously,
here we go. It is the Dallas Cowboys against the.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Jay E Tee US Jets, Jets Jets, who are we
gonna have a tie? Are we gonna have overtime? Are
we gonna see some defense? Are we gonna see some concussions?
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yes, we are, because it's called football. Who do you have, Shane?
Speaker 4 (12:08):
You know the last time the Cowboys went into met
left tack on the Jets who were owing.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Fourth time.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, let's not talk about that. You see, you're gonna
bring it out to No.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
I let the Cowboys in this game, but I think
the problem is the Jets will offer them problems.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
That they don't.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
They don't contain mobile quarterbacks well, and I think because
of that, it's gonna force Matt even who was to
play the guy's close at last scrimmage, which is gonna
lew justin fields to throw the ball deep.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Garrett Wilson scares me a little bit unless uh Deron
blance covered him. I think the Cowboys win, but it's
uncomfortably close, just.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Like it was against the Giants when it was uncomfortably close.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Dallas has learned a lot. It's a slow work in progress.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
We come out against Philly and the season opener, and
we kind of shocked the world that we played so
close and actually at some points had the lead. We
come out against New York and well, we saw what
we saw, and then we go into where did we
go and get oh, chakag that's right. The Windy City
blewis right on out and you get Green Bay and
Green Bay.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Hey, Michael, welcome back.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
You just went to a team where Jerry actually kind
of made that trade look relevant because a lot of
Packer fans are upset. They are in a bye week
this week, and I'm sure that they enjoy that, but
a forty to forty ball game.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Cowboy fans need something. We need the reassurance. I need
to have an afternoon a piece and quiet.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
That's why the Cowboys will take care of the Jets early.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
The defense will.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Surprise us today because guess what, we'll actually see some turnovers.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
And by the way, I guess got some news. I
know Texas fans, we kind of ragged on all this
first segment. Here's some good news for Texas fans. Jaden Blue,
the rookie running back, is gonna make his pro debut today.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
There you go, there you go. So I got some
speed coming, So give me the Cowboys in this one.
Of course, that is week five of the NFL. And
you know, I gotta tell you this before we go
to break the Cowboys today. Yep, I would tell you
that they're backs against the wall. Now, I know the
Jets don't have a victory, they're zer and four, but
(14:06):
you know what, you'd hate to be the headline tomorrow
that you will allow the Jets to get their first
victory against the Dallas Cowboys. I got more news also
for the Cowboys. Just I know we're coming out of
breaking bad, but I do want to get this out there.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
So, the Cowboys are gonna have four new stars on
the offensive line.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Four their stars are out.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
Tyler Smith is the only is the only player that's
gonna be playing from the starting five. Tyler Goydon out
with the concussion. Obviously, Cooper BB is still dealing with
his injury. Tyler Brooker so his injury. Terrence Steele is the.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Is out as well.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
So you will see a lineup of Nate Thomas, Tyler Smith,
Cooper Bebe uh sorry, brock Hoffman, and I believe a
Johnny Corneeli is slated to play right tackle. So we'll
see how the offensive line looks with a bunch of
young guys.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Yeah, I mean it's gonna be fun.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
I mean I love footballs on Sunday because man, I
watch every game.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
I'm gonna get home.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
I get that thirty minute head start due to the
Texans pregame here at the bottom of the hour. But
coming up next, some news and headlines around sports, and
the one that's just starting to get a little confusing.
That's all next on the Fanatics on Ticket seven sixty
